Synopsis for our Spider-Man Brand New Day Movie Review
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretin.
Written by: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan Lee
Four years after Dr. Strange erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memory, Peter has completely committed himself to being Spider-Man. He visits Aunt May’s grave, secretly checks in on Ned Leeds and MJ at MIT, and spends every other waking hour fighting crime across New York. When a tank goes on a rampage, Spider-Man first has to stop vigilante Frank Castle before stopping the tank. Inside, Peter finds a confused woman and something much stranger: an unseen entity that jumps from body to body inside the Department of Damage Control, eventually freeing Mac Gargan, aka The Scorpion. Yelena Bolova tells Peter this isn’t ordinary mind control. It's small potatoes but the attacks are connected to something called “V-Max.”
Stranger things get even more complicated when Ned returns to New York. Peter secretly follows him to a house-warming party, where he also sees MJ — now with another boyfriend. The sight of her sends Peter spiralling, and soon his own spider DNA begins to mutate. With help from Dr. Bruce Banner, Peter manages to create a device to suppress the changes. But when Spider-Man finally tracks the entity to The Scorpion, it possesses MJ and threatens to kill her. Peter discovers the truth: the entity is actually the mutant Jean Grey, who is searching Damage Control for V-Max. Jean takes control of the Hulk, leading to a massive fight with Spider-Man and Frank Castle. They eventually separate Jean from Hulk, but something goes horribly wrong — No Banner, No girl, only Hulk!
Peter manages to calm Hulk and capture Jean, but she mentions the name "Sarah" before passing out. With help from MJ and Yelena, Peter discovers that Sarah is Jean’s missing sister, who was experimented on by Damage Control and Director Metzger. And the mysterious V-Max? It was nothing more than words written on an air-conditioning unit in the room where Sarah died. When Jean learns the truth, her grief explodes into rage, and she takes control of a kilometre of New York and its citizens. Peter fights his way through mind-controlled Hand ninjas to reach her, then allows Jean inside his mind. There, through memories of Aunt May, Peter convinces Jean that she is loved and promises to help her.
But before he can save her, Frank Castle takes a sniper shot at Jean. Peter uses his new abilities to get Jean out of the way — and takes the bullet himself. Jean keeps him alive long enough for the doctors at Metro-General Hospital to save him. When Peter wakes up, Frank helps him escape as New York celebrates Spider-Man as a hero. Peter returns to his anonymous life, until he runs into Ned at a local bodega. This time, Peter introduces himself. He uses their old handshake, and Ned immediately knows how to complete it. For just a moment, it seems like his oldest friend might remember him after all.

00:00 --> 00:06 [UNKNOWN]: This is movies on TV podcast industries with our sport-filled discussion of Spider-Man brand new day.
00:07 --> 00:12 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't read you that letter because I didn't want anything like that to happen to you.
00:12 --> 00:13 [UNKNOWN]: That's not really your decision.
00:13 --> 00:18 [UNKNOWN]: I know it's not, but you mean everything to me.
00:22 --> 00:24 [UNKNOWN]: And I've been trying to live my life without you, but I...
00:33 --> 00:35 [UNKNOWN]: this spell, or whatever it is that you did.
00:39 --> 00:40 [UNKNOWN]: It worked.
00:43 --> 00:49 [UNKNOWN]: All these memories that you're saying that we have together, I don't, I don't have them.
00:54 --> 00:58 [UNKNOWN]: And I do see why, you know, she would love you, the girl you wrote that letter to, but,
01:03 --> 01:08 [UNKNOWN]: I understand that you did what you had to do to protect her.
01:11 --> 01:13 [UNKNOWN]: And for that, I'm so grateful.
01:17 --> 01:18 [UNKNOWN]: But I...
01:22 --> 01:23 [UNKNOWN]: I don't love you.
01:23 --> 01:30 [UNKNOWN]: You said I don't, I don't even know you.
01:53 --> 01:58 [UNKNOWN]: Welcome back, fellow Spidey fans, webheads and everything, Marvel-efficient allows.
01:58 --> 02:09 [UNKNOWN]: This is movies on TV podcast industry, using work, having our spoiler-filled discussion of Spiderman, Brunnew Day, the 38th, yes, you heard that correct.
02:10 --> 02:15 [UNKNOWN]: The 38th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I am one of your host, Chris.
02:15 --> 02:17 [UNKNOWN]: I am one of your other host, Derek, welcome back.
02:18 --> 02:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, hello there, Sparty fans and fellow defenders, I am your third and final host, John, and we're going to be talking big potatoes on this one, yes, we are, yes, big potatoes with small potatoes, you know, you know, it's our small potatoes, we look at the big, big potatoes, we love our potatoes here, we certainly, on TV podcasts in the series, we want to talk about say those come to the Irish podcast, that's exactly it.
02:45 --> 02:49 [UNKNOWN]: And I think I was crying small potatoes there at that intro.
02:50 --> 02:50 [UNKNOWN]: I know.
02:50 --> 02:55 [UNKNOWN]: I was going to say, what way to start off really hitting the hard strings?
02:55 --> 02:57 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, we've grown up.
02:57 --> 02:58 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man's growing up.
02:58 --> 03:02 [UNKNOWN]: All the actors in there and the 30s are getting close to 30s.
03:03 --> 03:07 [UNKNOWN]: They're all going through their emotional core movements now.
03:08 --> 03:13 [UNKNOWN]: So this was a bit more of an emotional movie than I think I was expecting going into.
03:13 --> 03:18 [UNKNOWN]: And actually Tom Holland has a little swall about him in the Spidey series as well.
03:18 --> 03:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
03:19 --> 03:22 [UNKNOWN]: Like he's looking good, but he certainly just looked like the teenage Spidey that he did.
03:22 --> 03:23 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
03:23 --> 03:25 [UNKNOWN]: Like some of those flashbacks in you went, oh my god.
03:26 --> 03:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
03:26 --> 03:27 [UNKNOWN]: He's kind of...
03:29 --> 03:31 [UNKNOWN]: He's hissing the spider.
03:32 --> 03:33 [UNKNOWN]: He's spider, man.
03:33 --> 03:46 [UNKNOWN]: He's hissing the marvel sort of tradition of having a little bit of swallowing where whether it's swallowing fruit and sort of like a tempered swallowing spider man because he still look quite live.
03:46 --> 03:46 [UNKNOWN]: I did, of course.
03:46 --> 03:50 [UNKNOWN]: There was one bit where it was like a bit swallowing.
03:50 --> 03:54 [UNKNOWN]: Was that when Yelena did see his his small potatoes?
03:55 --> 03:57 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, no potatoes involved.
03:57 --> 04:03 [UNKNOWN]: It was, it was him in the suit, rather than out of it, speaking with the Elena.
04:03 --> 04:04 [UNKNOWN]: Right, I see, I see.
04:04 --> 04:14 [UNKNOWN]: In her office, which I have a lot of you have all seen this movie, because we've spoiled one of the major cameras, the tennis, which is a wonderful, you're then above appearing in the spoilers.
04:15 --> 04:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, Florence Pue, for if rumors are to be believed seeing him in the state of undress once again, again rumors rumors.
04:26 --> 04:27 [UNKNOWN]: What's the reason for this?
04:27 --> 04:32 [UNKNOWN]: I want to know because not everybody here will be aware of what we could have been supposedly.
04:33 --> 04:55 [UNKNOWN]: Florence P. and Tom Holland had a thing before his time with his current now wife yes he was in there so quite an interesting and fun thing if you think that his current his current wife at his ex-girlfriend are in the same film and he is in the state of the dress for both of the
04:55 --> 05:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they're in the same universe and they've both seen his big potatoes.
05:00 --> 05:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, oh my god.
05:01 --> 05:01 [UNKNOWN]: Small potatoes.
05:01 --> 05:02 [UNKNOWN]: Small potatoes.
05:02 --> 05:03 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's not.
05:04 --> 05:05 [UNKNOWN]: Relative potatoes.
05:05 --> 05:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I also do love the little comic book now, as well.
05:07 --> 05:11 [UNKNOWN]: That's himself in Black Widow, Spider-Man in Black Widow, did have a relationship in the comic books.
05:11 --> 05:16 [UNKNOWN]: And now, here they are, at meeting up the new Black Widow at the universe, at meeting up with Spider-Man.
05:16 --> 05:17 [UNKNOWN]: So, you never know?
05:17 --> 05:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
05:19 --> 05:23 [UNKNOWN]: 100% now that his love of his life is no longer in love with him.
05:23 --> 05:33 [UNKNOWN]: Well we are spoiling everything about the movie so we should really get into discussing the movie and if you haven't subscribed to the podcast you could pop on our website at tvpodcastindustries.com and subscribe over there.
05:33 --> 05:37 [UNKNOWN]: Occasionally we do podcast more than once a month and hopefully we'll get back to doing that.
05:37 --> 05:46 [UNKNOWN]: Lanterns is coming up from DC the new TV show coming up on HBO which we're hoping to start covering it's coming out next week as we record this podcast.
05:47 --> 05:53 [UNKNOWN]: really interested to see what D.C. will deliver with their first big TV show live action TV show since peacemaker.
05:55 --> 06:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I'd be interested in that and also of course it will be a return to our Gotham TV podcast handle network.
06:02 --> 06:05 [UNKNOWN]: We do talk about the D.C. Universe.
06:05 --> 06:06 [UNKNOWN]: That's right.
06:06 --> 06:09 [UNKNOWN]: Occasionally not as often as the Marvel.
06:10 --> 06:14 [UNKNOWN]: We changed it over to add to Penguin on TV podcast industries that the Penguin Season 2 is going to be about
06:16 --> 06:18 [UNKNOWN]: That's it.
06:18 --> 06:21 [UNKNOWN]: That's if Matt Reeves bought mine too, every guest still.
06:21 --> 06:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
06:22 --> 06:25 [UNKNOWN]: And he keeps just ticking back, doesn't it, really?
06:25 --> 06:31 [UNKNOWN]: Speaking of Marvel things, we will know the upcoming slate for the remainder of the year.
06:31 --> 06:39 [UNKNOWN]: Very soon as Marvel's D23 is happening this weekend in Anaheim.
06:40 --> 06:44 [UNKNOWN]: And there is multiple Marvel panels, multiple Marvel.
06:45 --> 06:54 [UNKNOWN]: Keynote, if you will, we are expecting a final date and trailer for one of it for VisionQuest.
06:54 --> 06:55 [UNKNOWN]: That's right.
06:55 --> 06:56 [UNKNOWN]: Supposedly.
06:57 --> 07:02 [UNKNOWN]: And their rumor is to additional special presentation.
07:02 --> 07:03 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
07:04 --> 07:10 [UNKNOWN]: So we have, I think the rumoured days is October 16th for Vision Quest.
07:10 --> 07:13 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's the that's the date that's been out there.
07:13 --> 07:16 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, that's probably going to be confirmed, but at least we'll see a trailer this weekend, that'll be cool.
07:17 --> 07:28 [UNKNOWN]: The other big announcement that came out today from Marvel and from Disney is that Kevin Smith's going to be doing a crossover of Marvel and Star Wars beginning in January next year, 5 issue series that he's written.
07:28 --> 07:45 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I know, my crate is there and Luke Skywalker on the artwork look like a Chinese knockoff Doesn't look great, but the but the concept is effectively Dr. Doom and Darth Vader are teaming up And Thanos and and Venom yet old villains teaming up together.
07:45 --> 07:51 [UNKNOWN]: That would be very interesting But yes lots of interesting stuff coming up at T23 for Disney and from Marvel
07:52 --> 07:55 [UNKNOWN]: could be an absolute transmit.
07:55 --> 07:59 [UNKNOWN]: There I say it's a star destroyer smash.
07:59 --> 08:16 [UNKNOWN]: I will quickly add because we're going to go into our spoiler-filled discussion of Spider-Man brand new day that the jays of future past comic is which is currently him to ridden by chemistry with the chains on a bob in the marvel kind of
08:20 --> 08:35 [UNKNOWN]: Like Kevin Smith has definitely got some grace in the Marvel University about Daredevil for a very long time And one of his storylines has been adapted into Daredevil series So he is a well known Marvel right here.
08:35 --> 08:35 [UNKNOWN]: It's not just that he was a
08:36 --> 08:38 [UNKNOWN]: a filmmaker that went on to write some good comic books.
08:38 --> 08:41 [UNKNOWN]: He's written some of the most well-respected comic books.
08:41 --> 08:50 [UNKNOWN]: So, very intrigued to see what he might do with two universes crossing over like Star Wars and the Marvel Universe, starting in June and January next year.
08:50 --> 08:56 [UNKNOWN]: So, going on for five months for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, which is definitely making me feel quite old.
08:56 --> 09:02 [UNKNOWN]: But with that, let's get into our chat all about this brand new Marvel movie.
09:03 --> 09:03 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man brand new day?
09:04 --> 09:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, Derek.
09:05 --> 09:06 [UNKNOWN]: What awesome are the production details?
09:07 --> 09:08 [UNKNOWN]: This is a relatively easy one.
09:09 --> 09:16 [UNKNOWN]: The movie was directed by Dustin Daniel Cretten who's taken over from John Watson, director of the first three Spider-Man home movies.
09:16 --> 09:20 [UNKNOWN]: He is the director of Shaanxi and the legend of the 10 Rings.
09:20 --> 09:21 [UNKNOWN]: He also directed the first two episodes.
09:21 --> 09:23 [UNKNOWN]: Wonder-Man was one of the creators of that show.
09:24 --> 09:27 [UNKNOWN]: Unfortunately, Wonder-Man Season 2 has officially been cancelled too.
09:27 --> 09:30 [UNKNOWN]: We will not get a second season of that excellent TV show.
09:31 --> 09:33 [UNKNOWN]: Rumor has it that they just didn't get enough love from Emmy Awards.
09:34 --> 09:39 [UNKNOWN]: They thought they were going to get a hell of a lot more awards because it was a show about Movie making.
09:39 --> 09:48 [UNKNOWN]: They thought they were going to get a lot more nominations and it turned out that the ugly nomination that they really got was for the excellent performance of your album Dilma teen who
09:48 --> 09:52 [UNKNOWN]: absolutely deserve the award but they expect it a lot more so they can't for the best of that.
09:52 --> 09:53 [UNKNOWN]: No conviction.
09:53 --> 09:54 [UNKNOWN]: Demo phrase.
09:54 --> 09:54 [UNKNOWN]: Very tough.
09:54 --> 09:56 [UNKNOWN]: That would have been cool.
09:56 --> 10:04 [UNKNOWN]: But we do know we will get a Shang-Chi-Tu coming from Descendant Crack in the Future so that has been confirmed we will be seeing more of Shang-Chi.
10:04 --> 10:11 [UNKNOWN]: He says himself there should have been at least two movies by now but the reason why there isn't and people keep forgetting this the reason why there isn't a second Shang-Chi movie is because
10:11 --> 10:17 [UNKNOWN]: Descendant Cretan was supposed to be directing the two big Avengers project he was tapped to do the Kang Dynasty.
10:17 --> 10:35 [UNKNOWN]: He was going to be the one leading the Avengers that's a much Marvel love this guy and it was all taken away from when the Kang Dynasty fell apart and they decided to go running back to the Rousseau instead and they've done Descendant Cretan the proverbial boot but he like lands on his feet getting Spider-Man, isn't he?
10:35 --> 10:38 [UNKNOWN]: Well absolutely, big time and do one demand.
10:38 --> 10:41 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, like he's some sort of really good stuff.
10:41 --> 10:49 [UNKNOWN]: So like smaller projects when he had the Avengers coming up to get told to go over and deal with Saudi, the Saudi spiderbursts.
10:50 --> 10:56 [UNKNOWN]: The Kang Dynasty, what happened there's nothing to do with him and everything to do with the man who was supposed to be Kang.
10:56 --> 11:04 [UNKNOWN]: So like it's a little strange, but look, I think this director is super, I love most of the, if not all the projects he's
11:05 --> 11:12 [UNKNOWN]: and certainly around Marvel with Sean Chee, uh, Wonderman and uh, spoilers.
11:12 --> 11:15 [UNKNOWN]: Now Spider-Man brand new day again.
11:15 --> 11:16 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, good on him.
11:16 --> 11:16 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
11:18 --> 11:28 [UNKNOWN]: And interestingly, the writers of this movie, just a great one to point day, the writers of this movie, Chris McKenna and Eric Somers have been working on all the projects with Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
11:28 --> 11:38 [UNKNOWN]: They worked all the way back with Marvel on and on the wasp, but then moved on to getting running credits on the original home coming and they were the writers for Spider-Man Far from Home and Spider-Man No Way Home.
11:38 --> 11:42 [UNKNOWN]: So they've been dealing with Tom Holland's universe for a very long time.
11:42 --> 11:46 [UNKNOWN]: I know there was a gap here for about five years between this and the last movie.
11:48 --> 11:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, but they are the ones that we're always bringing this story to life.
11:52 --> 11:56 [UNKNOWN]: So they are officially the Saudi Marvel writers for Spider-Man.
11:56 --> 11:57 [UNKNOWN]: They are the people that you tap.
11:57 --> 12:01 [UNKNOWN]: So that's why everything feels quite consistent to their universe, doesn't it?
12:02 --> 12:04 [UNKNOWN]: I'm strongly agree in terms of that.
12:04 --> 12:20 [UNKNOWN]: I think that they've built what I think will end of being kind of probably two strong trilogies, whatever we're calling the the the the home trilogy and then the day trilogy.
12:20 --> 12:24 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe like and the final days or whatever they do to kind of close it off.
12:24 --> 12:26 [UNKNOWN]: All right, spite of the end of days, yes.
12:27 --> 12:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
12:27 --> 12:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
12:29 --> 12:44 [UNKNOWN]: But I do think they've they've done it and they've also understood the assignment Yes, the biggest part but we'll get deeper into that in a few minutes definitely definitely with that John, do you want to tell us what they gave us with your synopsis for spider band brand new day?
12:44 --> 12:46 [UNKNOWN]: Sure, four years after Dr.
12:46 --> 12:52 [UNKNOWN]: Strange raised Peter Parker from everyone's memory, Peter has completely committed himself to being Spider-Man.
12:52 --> 13:03 [UNKNOWN]: He visits Antmae's grave secretly checking on their leads and MJ at MIT and spends every other waking hour fighting crime across New York.
13:03 --> 13:10 [UNKNOWN]: When a tank goes on a rampage, Spider-Man first has to stop vigilante Frank Castle before stopping the tank.
13:10 --> 13:14 [UNKNOWN]: Inside, Peter finds a confused woman and something much stranger.
13:15 --> 13:23 [UNKNOWN]: An unseen entity that jumps from body to body inside the Department of Damage Control eventually freeing MacGargin aka the Scorpion.
13:24 --> 13:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yena, below her, tells Peter, this isn't ordinary mind control.
13:28 --> 13:33 [UNKNOWN]: It's small potatoes, but the attacks are connected to something called VMAX.
13:34 --> 13:38 [UNKNOWN]: Stranger things get even more complicated when Ned returns to New York.
13:39 --> 13:46 [UNKNOWN]: Peter secretly follows him to a housewarming party where he also sees MJ, now with another boyfriend.
13:46 --> 13:49 [UNKNOWN]: The sight of her sends Peter spiraling and soon as
13:53 --> 14:04 [UNKNOWN]: with help from Dr. Bruce Banner, Peter Managers to create a device to suppress the changes, but when Spider-Man finally tracks the NCC to the scorpion, it possesses MJ and threatens to kill her.
14:05 --> 14:06 [UNKNOWN]: Peter discovers the truth.
14:07 --> 14:13 [UNKNOWN]: The NCC is actually the mutant gene grade, who is searching damage control for VMAX.
14:13 --> 14:19 [UNKNOWN]: Jean takes control of the Hulk, leading to a huge fight with Spider-Man and Frank Castle.
14:19 --> 14:24 [UNKNOWN]: They eventually separate Jean from Hulk, but something goes horribly wrong.
14:24 --> 14:27 [UNKNOWN]: No banner, no girl, only Hulk.
14:27 --> 14:34 [UNKNOWN]: Peter manages to calm Hulk and capture Jean, but she mentions the name Sarah before passing out.
14:34 --> 14:44 [UNKNOWN]: with help from MJ and Yelena, Peter discovers that Sarah is Gene's missing sister, who was experimented on by damage control and director Metzker.
14:45 --> 14:47 [UNKNOWN]: And the Mysterious V-Max?
14:47 --> 14:52 [UNKNOWN]: It's nothing more than words written on the air-conditioned unit in the room where Sarah died.
14:52 --> 15:02 [UNKNOWN]: And Jean learns the truth her grief explodes into rage, and she takes control of a kilometre of New York and its citizens.
15:02 --> 15:08 [UNKNOWN]: Peter fights his way through mine controlled hand ninjas to reach her then allows Jean inside his mind.
15:09 --> 15:15 [UNKNOWN]: There, through memories of Aunt May, Peter convinces Jean that she has loved and promises to help her.
15:16 --> 15:24 [UNKNOWN]: But before you can save her, Frank Castle takes a sniper shot at Jean, Peter uses his new abilities to get Jean out of the way and takes the bullet himself.
15:25 --> 15:30 [UNKNOWN]: Jean keeps him alive long enough for the doctors and Metro General Hospital to save him.
15:32 --> 15:37 [UNKNOWN]: When Peter wakes up, Frank helps him escape as New York celebrates Spider-Man as a hero.
15:37 --> 15:42 [UNKNOWN]: Peter returns to his anonymous life until he runs into Ned at a local bodega.
15:43 --> 15:45 [UNKNOWN]: This time, Peter introduces himself.
15:45 --> 15:49 [UNKNOWN]: He uses their old handshake and Ned immediately knows how to complete it.
15:50 --> 15:55 [UNKNOWN]: For just a moment, it seems like his oldest friend might just remember him after all.
15:58 --> 15:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yay!
15:59 --> 16:00 [UNKNOWN]: At the moment.
16:00 --> 16:03 [UNKNOWN]: Yay!
16:03 --> 16:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, nice, nice ending to the movie there isn't it?
16:06 --> 16:12 [UNKNOWN]: Which I'm sure we'll talk about in major detail as we get into our points and moments from the movie, yeah.
16:12 --> 16:13 [UNKNOWN]: Oh yeah, definitely.
16:13 --> 16:17 [UNKNOWN]: 100% because there is so much to discussing.
16:17 --> 16:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, this is the Loki kicking off the mutant saga.
16:22 --> 16:22 [UNKNOWN]: Loki?
16:22 --> 16:23 [UNKNOWN]: I'm going Loki.
16:23 --> 16:23 [UNKNOWN]: Or Loki?
16:23 --> 16:25 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, both actually technically.
16:26 --> 16:30 [UNKNOWN]: Um, it is, um, basically, maybe P.G.
16:30 --> 16:45 [UNKNOWN]: Parker, the, um, Oppenheimer of the Marbley University for it, with his, uh, the man who's basically creating the suppression colors for mutants, um, that could be just, yeah, there's so much.
16:46 --> 16:51 [UNKNOWN]: So should we kick off with our brand new points for this film?
16:53 --> 16:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, it is our brand new point number one, friendly neighbourhood Spider-man.
16:58 --> 16:59 [UNKNOWN]: Hmm.
16:59 --> 17:02 [UNKNOWN]: How'd you feel about this opening to the movie?
17:02 --> 17:05 [UNKNOWN]: We have basically four, three, four year.
17:07 --> 17:11 [UNKNOWN]: period of time spent with Peter Parker and lots of lots going on in his life.
17:11 --> 17:12 [UNKNOWN]: But all connected to Spider-Man.
17:12 --> 17:14 [UNKNOWN]: What do you think of this as the opening?
17:14 --> 17:15 [UNKNOWN]: I love this.
17:15 --> 17:25 [UNKNOWN]: This was fantastic four years compressed basically into the guts of 15 minutes giving us an understanding of where Peter has been since
17:26 --> 17:29 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not sorry, I'll take it even step further.
17:30 --> 17:38 [UNKNOWN]: If you add in the opening for this film you do actually get a small montage within the Marvel credits.
17:39 --> 17:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, the Marvel logo of things that have happened over the last three films including some civil war and the Avengers at the end game of the movie.
17:48 --> 17:53 [UNKNOWN]: And getting people can also put the idea that Peter Parker has disappeared in this time.
17:53 --> 18:02 [UNKNOWN]: I think that second time I was watching it, you noticed that there's moments with himself in MJ, where he's disappearing from photographs in just that opening credit scene.
18:02 --> 18:13 [UNKNOWN]: So you'll see that effectively in MJ's life and in that life specifically, they'll have loads of photographs just then sitting on their own various locations because Peter has disappeared after their lives.
18:17 --> 18:23 [UNKNOWN]: captured that because I was thinking, is it the case where it's just the memory and they're going, well, who's that kid?
18:23 --> 18:28 [UNKNOWN]: That's okay, I can't remember his name, but he was right beside me, all the time, no, and he's gone.
18:28 --> 18:34 [UNKNOWN]: So he is wiped out, absolutely thoroughly from existence.
18:34 --> 18:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so Peter Parker is no more Spider-Man has remained.
18:37 --> 18:43 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man was around Spider-Man, did save them when they were in Europe, or take monkey saved them when they were in Europe,
18:46 --> 18:55 [UNKNOWN]: And I love, you know, that's part of the part of the plot of the movie is that for the last couple of years, Ned has been trying to work out why the hell is Spuckerman saving me then, right?
18:55 --> 18:59 [UNKNOWN]: Why are we important to him because they have no memory of any connection with him at all?
18:59 --> 18:59 [UNKNOWN]: And MJ...
19:00 --> 19:10 [UNKNOWN]: reduces that she must somehow possibly know Spiderman as well because of all the rescues.
19:10 --> 19:18 [UNKNOWN]: Like when it starts to get sort of further on just before she gets controlled by the mysterious figure.
19:19 --> 19:20 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, Jean Grey.
19:20 --> 19:21 [UNKNOWN]: She does, did you stop there?
19:21 --> 19:27 [UNKNOWN]: But I love that Ned suspects that it's flashed Thompson or his teacher in school.
19:27 --> 19:29 [UNKNOWN]: But that must be one of the two of them, because we know he's from Queens.
19:29 --> 19:30 [UNKNOWN]: We know he must know us.
19:31 --> 19:39 [UNKNOWN]: And then the only two people that we don't know enough about you, that we, that we, that were on the the school trip and we're, we're close to us all the time.
19:39 --> 19:44 [UNKNOWN]: So I do love the idea that we do have a potential flashed Thompson as Spider-Man of this universe.
19:45 --> 20:07 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, and he may be agent vellant venom in a very near-feet, and I, so look, I really enjoyed this opening because it sets up the history of the MCU, in terms of the Spidey, this more, I think I'm saying this in some of the marketing and the kind of buildup, but this was more grounded Spider-Man story.
20:08 --> 20:19 [UNKNOWN]: And I tend to agree, this is less cosmic, less ironman, this is this type of story, is almost something despite a man I grew up with.
20:20 --> 20:28 [UNKNOWN]: It's that arc where he was the out of college kind of early 20s living paycheck to paycheck.
20:28 --> 20:31 [UNKNOWN]: Obviously, we don't get the bugle in this
20:37 --> 20:47 [UNKNOWN]: and Dwarf is a fantastic character and one of the quick recommendations that the final days of Dwarf was the death of Dwarf.
20:47 --> 20:52 [UNKNOWN]: It might even be more specific at the death of Dwarf that you're David, I think.
20:52 --> 20:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's definitely one of one of one of the big writers, definitely.
20:56 --> 20:58 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly, but she's been around for years.
20:58 --> 21:01 [UNKNOWN]: She was in in Marvel team up number 48.
21:01 --> 21:13 [UNKNOWN]: I have my notes there from I was there first periods and that's back in the 70s like so yeah, she's been around for a very long time as the member of the police force that yeah that allows Peter Parker to work alongside them
21:14 --> 21:17 [UNKNOWN]: So she's always been kind of a supporter, which she's had some really interesting stories.
21:17 --> 21:22 [UNKNOWN]: So cool to have the character played here by actors from the bear as well.
21:22 --> 21:23 [UNKNOWN]: So you might recognize her.
21:24 --> 21:24 [UNKNOWN]: Very cool.
21:25 --> 21:28 [UNKNOWN]: What are the things that I absolutely love about this about these moments?
21:28 --> 21:29 [UNKNOWN]: We've been speculated for months.
21:29 --> 21:32 [UNKNOWN]: Among ourselves, because you don't usually do speculation on what's coming up with the movies.
21:32 --> 21:35 [UNKNOWN]: We've been speculating ourselves about what's coming up in this.
21:36 --> 21:48 [UNKNOWN]: movie connected to the stuff that we've been covering like the Punisher and like Daredevil board again and it turns out Actually most of the things that are being referenced in the trailers and everything coming up to here Is literally just that first 15 minutes.
21:49 --> 21:51 [UNKNOWN]: So we see Mayor Sheila
21:52 --> 22:04 [UNKNOWN]: giving Spider-Man the key to the city while he's going around saving loads of people during those three years and we still don't actually know whether that's before King Pintok over or after King Pintok disappeared at the end of Spider-Man brand new day.
22:04 --> 22:06 [UNKNOWN]: We know he got the key to the city from Sheila, but
22:07 --> 22:22 [UNKNOWN]: That is literally the only scene we see of Zapretto Gravera in the movie is the one that was in the trailer that we spotted four and a half months ago So how sad yeah, I mean, I've she's definitely more than just an advisor because yeah, in Daredevil born again.
22:22 --> 22:22 [UNKNOWN]: She's just an advisor
22:22 --> 22:27 [UNKNOWN]: So she wouldn't be giving him the key to the city or the ceremonial thing.
22:27 --> 22:28 [UNKNOWN]: So she has to be the man.
22:28 --> 22:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:29 --> 22:33 [UNKNOWN]: It's just not really as connected or maybe just not.
22:33 --> 22:35 [UNKNOWN]: It's not given the reference point for us to go.
22:35 --> 22:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:36 --> 22:36 [UNKNOWN]: So it's after.
22:36 --> 22:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
22:37 --> 22:38 [UNKNOWN]: Merviske.
22:38 --> 22:40 [UNKNOWN]: But there's nothing to reference Merviske.
22:40 --> 22:40 [UNKNOWN]: So.
22:40 --> 22:41 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
22:41 --> 22:43 [UNKNOWN]: I think it is after.
22:43 --> 23:02 [UNKNOWN]: And I would say it could be it's just because of the four-year period that and we're just kind of seeing this flash As to the other big speculation that was happening and in the lead up to this was that this movie was going to be Spider-Man versus the Center's to six something That has been talked about about in movies since back in the 90s because so many
23:02 --> 23:07 [UNKNOWN]: actors are being brought back as their characters from comic books.
23:07 --> 23:15 [UNKNOWN]: We're going to be seeing each of the members of the cinemas, cinemas, cinemas, cinemas, and the big one here was going to be scorpion coming back from homecoming.
23:15 --> 23:16 [UNKNOWN]: We were going to have tombstone in there.
23:17 --> 23:25 [UNKNOWN]: Pretty much all of these characters are just seen in flashes and they do a great thing with them though which I actually love.
23:26 --> 23:32 [UNKNOWN]: They do comic book covers of these characters fighting at Spider-Man in the montage They are so cool.
23:32 --> 23:45 [UNKNOWN]: Look, you really really love this touch that they have before the story begins Let's have some time with Spider-Man fighting against all of his all of his rogue's gallery in that four years while he's just being Spider-Man and not being a Peter Parker
23:46 --> 24:10 [UNKNOWN]: And just can we just quickly, this is one of the bits I wanted to call out about, uh, Descent Data Cratton's vision, his cinematography, and his style in this, which is, we got to see a lot of that with, uh, his action, his view on action with Shang-Chi, and his over-stilized, kind of, fight choreography, his over-stilized, and kind of over,
24:10 --> 24:13 [UNKNOWN]: and I'm saying over stylized in a good way.
24:13 --> 24:14 [UNKNOWN]: It's just stylized.
24:14 --> 24:25 [UNKNOWN]: It's just stylized, but his choice here of how he portrays Spider-Man swinging the agility.
24:25 --> 24:33 [UNKNOWN]: That is one of the key pieces where you talk about the comic book covers coming to life because we've seen some level of
24:40 --> 25:01 [UNKNOWN]: this was just a step on to itself, in that like if we think about and like we saw it in the trailers that first scene where Peter Parker is responding to what is going to be the damage control tank piece where he jumps off the building.
25:02 --> 25:16 [UNKNOWN]: And he does this slide down and he is going, you go, we go inside his mask and you see through his eyes and partially of his eyes, weird camera choice, but we're doing it well.
25:16 --> 25:22 [UNKNOWN]: So just very much reminded me of that kind of Tony Stark when we first saw him in Iron Man 1 in the eye of the hell.
25:23 --> 25:31 [UNKNOWN]: But just the choice of seeing him fall and swing and almost what I feel is the closest we have got to
25:33 --> 25:48 [UNKNOWN]: um the closest we've got to almost the the insomniac Spider-Man games to portray the speed and that kind of wind rushing a piece of Spider-Man swinging his literally washed through
25:49 --> 26:00 [UNKNOWN]: The closest we ever got before that, I feel was the, the Andrew Garfield films where he kind of at the end is very happy and swings off and it was off.
26:00 --> 26:01 [UNKNOWN]: I think it was the end of the second one actually.
26:01 --> 26:04 [UNKNOWN]: Right, right, but this is like this.
26:04 --> 26:05 [UNKNOWN]: I know they're leveled.
26:05 --> 26:15 [UNKNOWN]: Like they're showing some of the behind the scenes still for the filming that's done is of the Stunt Manorak Tom Holland, which everyone potentially actually swinging through the streets with a, with a crane camera.
26:15 --> 26:22 [UNKNOWN]: going backing up along the streets with effectively him looking like Spider-Man going through the street live action.
26:22 --> 26:23 [UNKNOWN]: It's not all CGI.
26:23 --> 26:26 [UNKNOWN]: I'm sure it's enhanced as well, but you can really feel that motion.
26:26 --> 26:34 [UNKNOWN]: It's incredible and all those scenes where they do the cover of the comic books and they match those poses again all done practically by Tom Holland.
26:35 --> 26:41 [UNKNOWN]: They've filmed it in slow motion in extreme slow motion so they could get the exact chart on the parently time arm was doing those poses.
26:42 --> 26:45 [UNKNOWN]: 40, 50 times, just to get it exactly right.
26:45 --> 26:53 [UNKNOWN]: He's really dedicated to me that he's got the massive paycheck and I'm sure a cut of the profit, he's really dedicated to delivering the best possible Spider-Man that he can deliver.
26:53 --> 26:56 [UNKNOWN]: And he took inspiration from the Insum now.
26:56 --> 27:02 [UNKNOWN]: For the O'Games, he talks about some of the ending moves that you see Spider-Man doing on some of the characters.
27:02 --> 27:08 [UNKNOWN]: Those are things you can do in the video game, so he specifically took inspiration from the PlayStation game in those scenes as well.
27:08 --> 27:09 [UNKNOWN]: It's totally average.
27:10 --> 27:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but I also think it did evoke like the Toby McGuire stuff and it was a lot made at the time of him swinging around in New York, absolutely.
27:19 --> 27:23 [UNKNOWN]: I think they really lent him to that and did more of that.
27:24 --> 27:31 [UNKNOWN]: And the same with Andrew Garfield, so I think they do evoke that as the same way I think that they've used the past movies.
27:32 --> 27:41 [UNKNOWN]: to inform this like the comics and like they have done and like they've described around the suit and doing the Spidey suit.
27:41 --> 27:45 [UNKNOWN]: So I think it's just I think that's just really good for the
27:48 --> 27:56 [UNKNOWN]: director to be using all those palettes that is disposable, whether it's the game, the previous movies, the comics and so on.
27:57 --> 27:57 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
27:57 --> 27:59 [UNKNOWN]: So, I mean, that's just really good.
27:59 --> 28:06 [UNKNOWN]: And I think there's a lot in here that evokes different parts of the, I guess, the Tobin Maguire franchise.
28:06 --> 28:07 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
28:07 --> 28:09 [UNKNOWN]: And even, you know, there's something that obviously we'll talk about later on.
28:09 --> 28:10 [UNKNOWN]: His, uh, his,
28:11 --> 28:25 [UNKNOWN]: new way of creating web, so that's a knob back to to tell me the worst version of Spider-Man and even calls it anyway, because it's always by the two of these, they can't be that bad, you know, so that's a knob back to their beating and no way home as well.
28:26 --> 28:46 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, something, some of the cool stuff in this opening sequence as well, there's lots of little mods to the early MCU, I think, in these scenes, we see the tour bus that's driving down the street talking to the tourists saying that this is, it's in New York, of course, and they call it that the street was destroyed during the Battle of New York, which was in the Avengers of course.
28:46 --> 28:54 [UNKNOWN]: And we have Spidey smack him on the side of the bus and that was very similar to when Baron Mordeaux and Strange hit the side of the bus back in Dr.
28:54 --> 28:58 [UNKNOWN]: Strange in the stand that he came out you might remember from the original Dr.
28:58 --> 29:05 [UNKNOWN]: Strange movie and we see a girl on the bus reading a book There who looks quite similar to Rogue from the X-Men
29:05 --> 29:20 [UNKNOWN]: um uh in the place of where Stanley would have been so it's possible she's got the white hair uh white hair in the front and and brown in the back so uh it's possible that's the reason why they linger on her there is because that's where Stanley was placed before and maybe this is another
29:20 --> 29:27 [UNKNOWN]: X-Men character that we're having in there, but that's cool and also the other big thing I think that they're alluding to here.
29:28 --> 29:45 [UNKNOWN]: We had always learned once from when Spidey was brought into the Avengers back in in Civil War by Tony Stark that he was the not the apprentice but he was the future Tony Stark in this universe Tony Stark had seen something very special about Peter Parker and something that
29:47 --> 29:50 [UNKNOWN]: And here we actually see Peter creating his own suit.
29:50 --> 30:04 [UNKNOWN]: He's created his own internal AI now, now called EV, voiced by Naomi Watts, who worked together with Tom Holland on his first movie, back when he was about the 12th, wasn't it's the impossible?
30:05 --> 30:12 [UNKNOWN]: So Naomi Watts come back to voice the AI in the chair that Peter Parker creates for himself.
30:12 --> 30:15 [UNKNOWN]: So he is now taking over since Tony Stark's no longer there.
30:15 --> 30:16 [UNKNOWN]: He's doing it all himself.
30:16 --> 30:19 [UNKNOWN]: He's able to create all the things that Tony was able to create in his room.
30:19 --> 30:22 [UNKNOWN]: As Iron Man, he's able to do them for himself a Spider-Man.
30:22 --> 30:31 [UNKNOWN]: So a nice little touch we see more grown-up version of this character not depending on anybody else, which is part of the problem as well for the character, right?
30:33 --> 30:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and this kind of leans back into that as I was saying that kind of more grained it kind of I pour is too much of a kind of mean thing to say but the more the bootstrap
30:53 --> 30:53 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man.
30:54 --> 31:00 [UNKNOWN]: I spoke to Spider-Man with a 3D printer who can also kind of 3D print his own costume things like that.
31:00 --> 31:03 [UNKNOWN]: First is where we did seem at the end of the last trilogy.
31:04 --> 31:09 [UNKNOWN]: His suit was hand-stitched out of a very shiny material here.
31:09 --> 31:11 [UNKNOWN]: It did kind of 3D printer.
31:11 --> 31:12 [UNKNOWN]: And it's a nice upgrade.
31:12 --> 31:14 [UNKNOWN]: They're you seeing that upgrade over the time.
31:14 --> 31:14 [UNKNOWN]: Oh yeah.
31:15 --> 31:17 [UNKNOWN]: four years and makes sense.
31:17 --> 31:18 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
31:18 --> 31:33 [UNKNOWN]: But it does get us from that we say the four years prior up to modern day where we are where he responds to going away tank and that kind of gets us to our next kind of brand new point if you
31:33 --> 31:35 [UNKNOWN]: in 2021 as well.
31:35 --> 31:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, so just to make it just like the point where we're aligned now with this Spider-Man with where we are in the rest of the universe, we're up at about 2029 at 2028, 2029, which is where we saw the new Avengers or the Thunderbolts were in Iran that period as well.
31:50 --> 31:54 [UNKNOWN]: So we're we're slightly in the future still with the with the with the MCU, but it's about 2829.
31:56 --> 32:15 [UNKNOWN]: one tiny last thing before we move on, it would be remiss of us to point out that all the way through this, we see Peter checking in on Ned Leeds and MJ all the way through, he's keeping himself to himself, not interacting with anybody other than Jean D'Wolf, who doesn't even know his name, but he is checking in on Ned, who is...
32:17 --> 32:40 [UNKNOWN]: Effectively broadcasting what's going on in his stories on Instagram to one or two people who are watching, but I love that himself and MJ are still really close and they they kept up their friendship even when they've been around it's really cool to to keep up with them as they go through their life in MIT and even even that period where every young man goes a terrible terrible go to the bottom of their head and
32:48 --> 32:51 [UNKNOWN]: Alright, let's get into our brand new point at number two.
32:53 --> 32:56 [UNKNOWN]: Our first big action scene of the movie that's done, the damage control break out.
32:57 --> 33:01 [UNKNOWN]: And our introduction to the one that only Punisher.
33:01 --> 33:04 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, a PG-13 Punisher.
33:04 --> 33:07 [UNKNOWN]: Well, a good, let's just say it's right here.
33:07 --> 33:16 [UNKNOWN]: In case you didn't hear our Punisher brand new day podcast, I am so much happier with this first different castle than the crap that they put on to Disney Plus for 45 minutes.
33:16 --> 33:20 [UNKNOWN]: So well done for bringing Frank Castle into Spider-Man.
33:20 --> 33:22 [UNKNOWN]: And it can be overstated that
33:23 --> 33:25 [UNKNOWN]: Punisher began in the Spider-Man comic books.
33:25 --> 33:30 [UNKNOWN]: He didn't star-charge as this Vietnam Vatu killed his family and went off on a killing spree, killing everybody.
33:30 --> 33:34 [UNKNOWN]: He was a person that was an antagonist for Spider-Man in a Spider-Man comic.
33:34 --> 33:43 [UNKNOWN]: So this is where he belongs, all the other versions of Punisher, as the adult character who just cuts people's heads off and shoots people because that's what he chooses to do.
33:43 --> 33:46 [UNKNOWN]: Those are all different versions of the Punisher than where he began.
33:46 --> 33:48 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm delighted to see him in here.
33:49 --> 33:50 [UNKNOWN]: I know it's just a bit of fun.
33:51 --> 33:53 [UNKNOWN]: I know the two actors know each other really well.
33:53 --> 33:58 [UNKNOWN]: They both did the auditions for the MCU together back when they first met.
33:58 --> 34:04 [UNKNOWN]: So it's great to see John Brantthall and Tom Holland back together on screen after all this time.
34:05 --> 34:07 [UNKNOWN]: They did also have a big moment this year in the in the Odyssey.
34:07 --> 34:10 [UNKNOWN]: So they're going to have a big, a big year to get this year.
34:10 --> 34:10 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
34:10 --> 34:11 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
34:11 --> 34:12 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
34:12 --> 34:21 [UNKNOWN]: I saw them see the Odyssey, so apologies for that, but it's the other best and John Bramthal and Tom Holland moving the year.
34:22 --> 34:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, the other, this was more important to see.
34:24 --> 34:29 [UNKNOWN]: It's been a dollar movies this year that they have under their belt that's incredible.
34:31 --> 34:38 [UNKNOWN]: I am I'm going to agree with you this version of the Punisher is so much better.
34:38 --> 34:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
34:39 --> 34:50 [UNKNOWN]: Go kick rocks like that is potentially one of the best quotes from Frank Castle and Dumbar and Dog in a long time.
34:50 --> 34:53 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, no, look, I'm absolutely loving it, babe.
34:53 --> 35:07 [UNKNOWN]: This we see a fantastic action sequence, again, this, what that was originally filmed in Glasgow, I think it was, um, um, of Tom Bond's Spider-Man, swinging through the air, stopping this rogue tank.
35:08 --> 35:22 [UNKNOWN]: Um, we see, then we see Punisher come up behind him, we get some nice, go home, Frank, but a back and forth banter between Peter Parker or just, right, between Spidey and the Punisher.
35:23 --> 35:33 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so kind of straight away just setting up that they have interacted, they know each other now within these four years and that this is, it does let us know as well.
35:33 --> 35:35 [UNKNOWN]: And again, why it leads me to believe that this is post,
35:37 --> 35:40 [UNKNOWN]: anti-vigilante task which post Daredevil.
35:41 --> 35:46 [UNKNOWN]: I'm very much kind of way like a bit of this Frank is an operating
35:47 --> 35:48 [UNKNOWN]: Pretty open me.
35:48 --> 35:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, if he's going after a rogue tank.
35:51 --> 35:51 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
35:52 --> 35:57 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so seeing this just brought again, and I've used this.
35:57 --> 36:02 [UNKNOWN]: If anyone's listened to our previous Spider-Man kind of Coverage in of the films.
36:03 --> 36:03 [UNKNOWN]: I love Spider-Man.
36:03 --> 36:04 [UNKNOWN]: I love the lore.
36:04 --> 36:05 [UNKNOWN]: I look at the universe.
36:05 --> 36:07 [UNKNOWN]: I that's one of my he is my favorite character.
36:08 --> 36:08 [UNKNOWN]: This
36:10 --> 36:15 [UNKNOWN]: felt like a comic book scene Come to life with it.
36:15 --> 36:18 [UNKNOWN]: It's just it's just so well done.
36:18 --> 36:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and very well Decided about it.
36:22 --> 36:22 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
36:22 --> 36:30 [UNKNOWN]: Well, how is this these two characters going to interact how is a Peter Parker going to try and stop
36:31 --> 36:57 [UNKNOWN]: an APC tank going dead and then you have to wolf going are you going to stop this are you going to finish this he goes on trying I'm very very good it was it was I you know I love the little illusions to the fact that you know every time we've seen Frank Castle he will more likely either grunt or swear right that's kind of all all the dialogue we got from him in the last two and the last movie so uh so initially the first thing that Spidey does is cover his mic so he can't say the effort right so
36:58 --> 37:00 [UNKNOWN]: that's a fun way to introduce them.
37:00 --> 37:05 [UNKNOWN]: And I know the history of the two of those characters together as well.
37:05 --> 37:14 [UNKNOWN]: We still don't know, but even by the end of the movie, we don't know how Peter saved Frank Castle at that incident that they mentioned a few times.
37:14 --> 37:19 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe maybe that will be when Tom Holland appears on Disney+.
37:19 --> 37:21 [UNKNOWN]: Punisher show in the future.
37:21 --> 37:22 [UNKNOWN]: He says he wants to do it.
37:22 --> 37:27 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe they'll tell the story of how Peter Parker saved Frank Castle,
37:28 --> 37:35 [UNKNOWN]: or it's going to go on for years like the best between Hawkeye and Black Widow and we don't learn until right at the end.
37:35 --> 37:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they can barely create what they need to anyway.
37:39 --> 37:41 [UNKNOWN]: So that's not going to do it.
37:41 --> 37:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, man.
37:42 --> 37:43 [UNKNOWN]: But I agree.
37:43 --> 37:45 [UNKNOWN]: I think the punisher is way better here.
37:46 --> 38:01 [UNKNOWN]: then is so low-ousing, unfortunately, but it was just a great little action sequence of, yeah, the little, I mean, even though it is like of our PG 13, you know, the fact that he, as you say, he mouths up just as he's about to swear, and we all know what he's going to say.
38:02 --> 38:11 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, even later on as it moves towards the end of the movie, you know, he does what the Punisher would do, which goes for the gun first.
38:11 --> 38:14 [UNKNOWN]: And to take out the threat.
38:14 --> 38:14 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
38:14 --> 38:18 [UNKNOWN]: So for me, this is way kind of just like,
38:19 --> 38:31 [UNKNOWN]: on point and kind of like the stuff around the hospital, I guess I can see he was trying to make a men's here for what he did.
38:31 --> 38:37 [UNKNOWN]: I think he had in this sort of little chasing with the tank really good.
38:37 --> 38:43 [UNKNOWN]: I think for me though the the more intriguing thing on here is who's
38:44 --> 38:55 [UNKNOWN]: who's the antagonist here, and the intrigue here around the person that is effectively controlling this old lady who is there in the tank.
38:55 --> 39:03 [UNKNOWN]: So not expecting any of this and even just in these initial moments where you just see a this hooded figure, not a clue.
39:04 --> 39:26 [UNKNOWN]: And any suspicions when you're watching the for no reason until it was revealed and actually But I mean well, we'll get to those points a bit later, but I think here at least in this moment It's seeing this and like I was there going who's got I mean I did think who's got this mine control But I just did not think of the X-Men because
39:27 --> 39:34 [UNKNOWN]: If it's like a big thing to put in the Spider-Man movie, it's exactly, and if I've chosen, I love the X-Men movies.
39:34 --> 39:45 [UNKNOWN]: I never really followed them in comics, other than where they sort of, you know, cross over, yeah, exactly, cross over or transacted with something.
39:45 --> 39:48 [UNKNOWN]: That's what we were, for example, exactly.
39:48 --> 39:54 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, House of Am is probably the one I really did get into, and because it was phenomenal, but like,
39:55 --> 39:57 [UNKNOWN]: So I just, I didn't even have them.
39:59 --> 39:59 [UNKNOWN]: on my radar.
39:59 --> 40:06 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, I think maybe as well, just because it's Sony, like you say, it's not just that it's Spider-Man, but it's Sony Marvel Code production.
40:06 --> 40:12 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, the, you know, wanting all for themselves, Marvel Studios.
40:12 --> 40:15 [UNKNOWN]: But I like how they're the drip feeding, actually.
40:16 --> 40:20 [UNKNOWN]: And I think it's just a different way of doing the X-Men.
40:20 --> 40:22 [UNKNOWN]: It makes it better for me personally.
40:23 --> 40:24 [UNKNOWN]: And however,
40:28 --> 40:29 [UNKNOWN]: who is this person?
40:30 --> 40:31 [UNKNOWN]: And this is quite cool.
40:32 --> 40:35 [UNKNOWN]: And that they can move through people's bodies.
40:36 --> 40:48 [UNKNOWN]: And, you know, for me, I was thinking around certain, like, magical being certainly given the, and the doctor's strange connections and so on.
40:48 --> 40:48 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
40:48 --> 40:49 [UNKNOWN]: And I, I
40:50 --> 40:56 [UNKNOWN]: You know, in case you didn't see Ironhorses and you did have a character called the Hood, you know, quite recently in there.
40:57 --> 40:58 [UNKNOWN]: You know, we had some magical powers.
40:59 --> 41:00 [UNKNOWN]: This character is wearing a hood.
41:00 --> 41:06 [UNKNOWN]: So there was a moment where I was like, they brought the hood over from Ironhorses into into this movie, you know.
41:06 --> 41:06 [UNKNOWN]: But I had to.
41:06 --> 41:10 [UNKNOWN]: There's also the big one because this was done in another movie as well.
41:10 --> 41:12 [UNKNOWN]: It was done in Venom, the last answer in Venom.
41:14 --> 41:31 [UNKNOWN]: where you see the symbiote jumping between people in a quite a similar way as you see this entity jumping between the boys and I was like so as a wondering was it going to be one of the symbiote that had come over into the spider universe and this was the big hidden villain for the movie it was going to be that.
41:31 --> 41:50 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I also was thinking Bob from the Thunderbolts because with having Elena in there, I thought maybe and also just because you had that whole thing with the hood and the blackness like you did guys, yeah, you didn't see the face.
41:50 --> 41:53 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, it was for obvious reasons hiding the identity board.
41:53 --> 41:54 [UNKNOWN]: I mean,
41:54 --> 42:10 [UNKNOWN]: I was, I just thought, is this something where Bob's depressive self has kind of freed himself or doing something like a wrecky offer his own purposes, you know, that Bob's not fully in control here in century then.
42:11 --> 42:12 [UNKNOWN]: And the void.
42:12 --> 42:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that's it.
42:13 --> 42:14 [UNKNOWN]: The void.
42:14 --> 42:16 [UNKNOWN]: And I thought maybe it's that.
42:16 --> 42:19 [UNKNOWN]: So, I liked it.
42:19 --> 42:20 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I think if you're going to
42:21 --> 42:30 [UNKNOWN]: if you're going to bring intrigue into Spider-Man, do it in a good way and to be honest as well, for me, what made it even better and we'll come to it later is the payoff actually.
42:30 --> 42:37 [UNKNOWN]: But I love this jumping from people to people in damage control as they move through.
42:37 --> 42:45 [UNKNOWN]: haunting Spider-Man, which is best villains of all was tormented, like, and I love that.
42:46 --> 42:48 [UNKNOWN]: Really just lent into all of that.
42:48 --> 42:59 [UNKNOWN]: And so I really enjoyed this, and of course then the follow-up to it with the big potatoes, small potatoes, and with the Elena and her office.
42:59 --> 42:59 [UNKNOWN]: We should all have
43:05 --> 43:06 [UNKNOWN]: Any questions?
43:06 --> 43:08 [UNKNOWN]: Let's go into my Turkish bath.
43:08 --> 43:12 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, you should say the night's quite harsh bath.
43:13 --> 43:15 [UNKNOWN]: I genuinely, it is quite smart.
43:15 --> 43:18 [UNKNOWN]: A smart way to find out whether people are carrying weapons.
43:18 --> 43:19 [UNKNOWN]: Well, coming in to see you, right?
43:19 --> 43:21 [UNKNOWN]: So, strip yourself naked.
43:21 --> 43:23 [UNKNOWN]: Get into the, get into the pool.
43:23 --> 43:37 [UNKNOWN]: I do love that she's leaning into the sexier side of Black Widow, you know, that's always been something of the Black Widow character from, from comics, so I love that she's leaning into that by her she's naked in the, in the song of the whole time, right?
43:37 --> 43:39 [UNKNOWN]: She's, she's lying in the pool at no problem at all.
43:40 --> 43:43 [UNKNOWN]: Come on in, you might be embarrassed, but I'm not, you know, that kind of thing.
43:43 --> 43:45 [UNKNOWN]: That's that's very funny.
43:45 --> 43:46 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, the way he plays it as
43:50 --> 43:58 [UNKNOWN]: Peter doesn't want to have anybody know as identity since his old been wiped from everybody so he's wearing the mask in case anybody could work out.
43:58 --> 44:00 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he was both masks, doesn't he?
44:00 --> 44:00 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
44:01 --> 44:03 [UNKNOWN]: And because the other identity is also hidden.
44:04 --> 44:05 [UNKNOWN]: And I do, I mean, even though it's really hot.
44:06 --> 44:07 [UNKNOWN]: No, not as belly button.
44:07 --> 44:08 [UNKNOWN]: And it's potato.
44:08 --> 44:12 [UNKNOWN]: And I think even, like, it's only very, very minor.
44:13 --> 44:25 [UNKNOWN]: where you see that ultimately your lane is receptionist, but there's these eight two holes sort of weather quality women.
44:25 --> 44:32 [UNKNOWN]: And just that little interaction there with Peter Parker and Spider-Man, I just thought that was a nice little touch as well.
44:33 --> 44:35 [UNKNOWN]: I just kind of lent into that
44:38 --> 44:41 [UNKNOWN]: that Russian, the Russian of it all.
44:42 --> 44:43 [UNKNOWN]: And so that was great.
44:43 --> 44:45 [UNKNOWN]: And it's really interesting isn't it?
44:45 --> 44:53 [UNKNOWN]: Because you know, and maybe a little bit of outside and things you may not know about the MCU at the moment, Avengers Duneday was supposed to be coming out before this movie.
44:53 --> 44:57 [UNKNOWN]: We should have had Avengers Duneday followed by this and then going into secret wars.
44:57 --> 45:02 [UNKNOWN]: There's the approach of how they're originally going to happen but the research needed a bit more time so they moved.
45:02 --> 45:27 [UNKNOWN]: this age Sony was not going to stop this movie from coming out this summer they want to rate they want to the money so so there's a couple of things that are in here that I wonder you know is it telling us things about Dims they are coming up this year we have your line here talking about the new Avengers deal with all the big threats they don't deal with small potatoes they do with big potatoes so that's a great joke when you think about it in the movie context that's here but knowing that Dims is coming up this year
45:28 --> 45:32 [UNKNOWN]: We have a battle of multiple Avengers teams potentially on the cards.
45:32 --> 45:41 [UNKNOWN]: We've seen them in the trailer all these multiple Avengers teams But now we know after that you're laying as talking to Spidey about the new Avengers being the team that deal with the big threats.
45:42 --> 45:43 [UNKNOWN]: So, um, is she telling them
45:44 --> 45:49 [UNKNOWN]: the new Avengers win and she's the leader of that team now, potentially that's what's going on.
45:49 --> 45:50 [UNKNOWN]: So so I like that.
45:50 --> 45:57 [UNKNOWN]: Or the other possibility which is quite easy to get one actor down to come and film a scene to tie the whole thing together.
45:57 --> 46:03 [UNKNOWN]: So maybe this was just an added scene after they realized they were moving the day because that could absolutely be happening as well.
46:03 --> 46:23 [UNKNOWN]: Well, there we go again rumours rumours is that this was added because everyone was like how are you making a Granted Spider-Man story with at that point the rumor a connect correct corroborated rumor of who say the same good thing.
46:23 --> 46:27 [UNKNOWN]: Hey, hey, a correct Mark Wu flow.
46:28 --> 46:31 [UNKNOWN]: Rufulu Cameo what's that
46:33 --> 46:40 [UNKNOWN]: Rufio, sorry, Rufio and Devon was like Spider-Man is supposed to be granted.
46:40 --> 46:42 [UNKNOWN]: He's supposed to be a New York champion.
46:42 --> 46:43 [UNKNOWN]: What is going on?
46:44 --> 46:48 [UNKNOWN]: So, apparently this was a, hey, we're going to explain.
46:49 --> 47:05 [UNKNOWN]: The Spider-Man looks after small potatoes and the Avengers are big potatoes and they're separating again Spider-Man from he will be part of some of those bigger pieces, but this is a contained story like He won't be called in for didn't they could know we now said to reach him
47:09 --> 47:30 [UNKNOWN]: And then this supposedly, again, in the timeline, is pre-post Thunderbolt Film, but pre the end tag from the Thunderbolt Film, the end post-cutter team, where we see a ship come in.
47:30 --> 47:42 [UNKNOWN]: They apparently, earlier we're dealing with some, this is before they start dealing with the, and every space stuff that you name and talk about in the postcrimes.
47:42 --> 47:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
47:44 --> 47:45 [UNKNOWN]: Again, that is the big potatoes.
47:46 --> 47:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
47:47 --> 47:53 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-man focuses on smoke at the end of the Thunderbolts movie and connections with a fantastic movie as well.
47:54 --> 48:01 [UNKNOWN]: And the other final bit of speculation on why you're Linus here and I really kind of get this one too, it totally understanders.
48:02 --> 48:06 [UNKNOWN]: Thunderbolts was an excellent movie but only made three and a million bucks off.
48:06 --> 48:14 [UNKNOWN]: So, you're Linus a massive character, they need to set up the leisure of the new Avengers before we get to doomsday if people didn't see her and in that movie
48:16 --> 48:24 [UNKNOWN]: That's made a billion quid, so more people have seen her in this movie when Sawyer and Thunderbolts and she's going to be a character in the next big movie of this year.
48:24 --> 48:25 [UNKNOWN]: So good idea.
48:25 --> 48:31 [UNKNOWN]: And as far as Pew, it's a huge, she's a great actress, fantastic actress.
48:31 --> 48:35 [UNKNOWN]: But it didn't get more than 300 million for Thunderbolts, unfortunately.
48:35 --> 48:37 [UNKNOWN]: So put her in every movie, she's brilliant.
48:37 --> 48:41 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's also been on Disney plus now for a while, so as well.
48:42 --> 49:00 [UNKNOWN]: People will have seen it that way I guess well, it's a you know, it's just that Reminders to everyone yeah exactly so speaking of reminders and how things from the past Kingdom back should we move on to our next brand new point?
49:00 --> 49:09 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely Kissing made me mutate this I brand new point number three kissing makes me mutate yes
49:10 --> 49:13 [UNKNOWN]: then this is going to be our discussion of
49:15 --> 49:23 [UNKNOWN]: Peter and Ned and MJ, the reunion, the beginning of Spider-Man's mutation and the end of his mutation.
49:24 --> 49:31 [UNKNOWN]: And how he is essentially being set up as the opinheimer, I am death, I am the shorter works.
49:31 --> 49:40 [UNKNOWN]: Very much being setting up that he is the man to create the inhibitor callers, the inhibitor technology that will be used across the mutant saga.
49:43 --> 49:51 [UNKNOWN]: So let's take a straight back to the beginning, which is Peter and MJ and Ned in MJ and that's part of it.
49:51 --> 50:01 [UNKNOWN]: So Peter's on his way, doing his thing, and seeing Ned in a bodega stalked Ned all the way back to the apartment.
50:03 --> 50:22 [UNKNOWN]: Just remember they were in MIT and Boston and Peter has not seen them in person for four years and that happens to walk into But hey, but hey, which he would you know they're they're living in an area that Peter Parker can afford with a job Let's say and they are just coming out of college, so they're probably living in similar kind of areas in New York but
50:23 --> 50:33 [UNKNOWN]: There is a subway journey between where he picks up the bears and goes back to his apartment, so I guess they live in a bit far away, but yeah, his best mate is in town.
50:33 --> 50:34 [UNKNOWN]: He's going to find that where he lives.
50:35 --> 50:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and we get to MJ and Ned are having a shindig and Swarey, a red cup party.
50:43 --> 50:50 [UNKNOWN]: And, um, uh, main art himself, uh, enters and, uh, made nerds, Chris.
50:50 --> 50:56 [UNKNOWN]: He made me need, uh, I love to say with, uh, they went with that.
50:56 --> 51:00 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, maybe the something that I don't know, but, and me.
51:00 --> 51:01 [UNKNOWN]: And he's a nerd.
51:01 --> 51:02 [UNKNOWN]: I hate you.
51:02 --> 51:05 [UNKNOWN]: But I love, I love, I don't get any of that.
51:05 --> 51:07 [UNKNOWN]: I just though, main art, wine gums.
51:07 --> 51:09 [UNKNOWN]: I'm always just like, I'm always talking about wine gums.
51:10 --> 51:17 [UNKNOWN]: But now I love that MJ, like, corrects yourself when she calls a Maynard first and then goes Maynard, too.
51:17 --> 51:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:17 --> 51:24 [UNKNOWN]: But, like, there's a little moment again with himself and Ned, where you see there, but like, he's very impressed with Ned's abilities to track down, Spider-Man.
51:24 --> 51:28 [UNKNOWN]: He created the, the Spidey App to track Spidey around the city.
51:28 --> 51:31 [UNKNOWN]: You can tell, of course, Peter still in love with MJ.
51:31 --> 51:39 [UNKNOWN]: I love that he's carrying the flowers that he's bought for this days visit to go and see Atmaze Grave and then hands them over to her as a, as a housewarming gift.
51:39 --> 51:42 [UNKNOWN]: And she kind of looks around and I'm going, that's a bit of a weird thing.
51:42 --> 51:47 [UNKNOWN]: Everybody else here is brought along booze, as there goes their gift for a high-swimming new product.
51:47 --> 51:48 [UNKNOWN]: You've brought along flowers for me.
51:49 --> 51:50 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yes, thanks very much.
51:50 --> 51:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
51:51 --> 51:53 [UNKNOWN]: In that great way, that's a Deliver's Alliance.
51:53 --> 51:57 [UNKNOWN]: I always love her sarcastic way of Delivery.
51:57 --> 51:58 [UNKNOWN]: She's so good.
51:58 --> 52:00 [UNKNOWN]: And the three of them are brilliant in this movie.
52:00 --> 52:03 [UNKNOWN]: All three of them are great central characters in this movie.
52:04 --> 52:04 [UNKNOWN]: With every
52:07 --> 52:11 [UNKNOWN]: it's in that manjai and I'm Peter really, I'd really love the three of them together.
52:11 --> 52:13 [UNKNOWN]: They're great, um, three hunters.
52:14 --> 52:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
52:15 --> 52:24 [UNKNOWN]: Um, and so that, that actual scene where we do get the three of them first kind of reintroduced to each other where we see Ned's
52:27 --> 52:30 [UNKNOWN]: that kind of conspiracy wall.
52:30 --> 52:32 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he goes, I'm not crazy.
52:33 --> 52:37 [UNKNOWN]: I found that great because there are some amazing easter eggs in there.
52:38 --> 52:44 [UNKNOWN]: I think you name it the YouTube fans once this comes out online will be continued to pick a part.
52:44 --> 52:46 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, it's a set design.
52:46 --> 53:01 [UNKNOWN]: But which one did you notice when you were when it was on screen that definitely I thought they were what was great when that I really enjoyed because it's Tom Holland and he was in Europe for for far from home What Ned has written in his hand driving on top of the picture of spider monkey is
53:02 --> 53:02 [UNKNOWN]: Could he be British?
53:03 --> 53:04 [UNKNOWN]: So, which Tom Allen?
53:04 --> 53:05 [UNKNOWN]: Of course it is.
53:05 --> 53:10 [UNKNOWN]: So, I love that they have a little nod to the investigation that's going on, and Tom Allen himself.
53:10 --> 53:16 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, he's been tracking Spider-Man for the last four years because, again, he's saved him quite a lot of times.
53:17 --> 53:18 [UNKNOWN]: No, I'm a creepy tracking way.
53:19 --> 53:19 [UNKNOWN]: Oh no.
53:19 --> 53:22 [UNKNOWN]: So, thank you to him for saving him for so many times.
53:22 --> 53:22 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
53:24 --> 53:32 [UNKNOWN]: And this does then we get introduced to Paul, which is MJ's in the credits he's Paul.
53:34 --> 53:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I still believe by the time that's on how I'm video that will be, that'll be changed to maybe Harry and maybe so we get introduced to a character who is MJ's boyfriend and in the credits he is currently Paul yes, maybe he gets that call to Harry Osborne but very good and a it the kiss shared
54:00 --> 54:09 [UNKNOWN]: and heard around the world in that it causes Peter Parker to have a bit of a panic attack.
54:09 --> 54:10 [UNKNOWN]: It does, it does.
54:10 --> 54:15 [UNKNOWN]: The only reason I hope it's not Paul just so you know Chris is because I know Paul in the comic books much of a line to character.
54:16 --> 54:22 [UNKNOWN]: He was the boyfriend of MJ and yeah, totally you understand, but it's played by Aminus Fanny who who played Ezra Mezzar in
54:23 --> 54:25 [UNKNOWN]: As a Bridger, sorry, and soka.
54:26 --> 54:27 [UNKNOWN]: A very big character for us.
54:27 --> 54:28 [UNKNOWN]: We're all big a soka fans.
54:28 --> 54:30 [UNKNOWN]: Well, big Star Wars Rebels fans.
54:30 --> 54:33 [UNKNOWN]: So really hoping that he wasn't cast for a three-second par.
54:34 --> 54:36 [UNKNOWN]: And then the next time we see him, he's breaking up with MJ.
54:36 --> 54:38 [UNKNOWN]: I'm hoping that he has a much bigger role to play.
54:39 --> 54:41 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, it's possible.
54:43 --> 54:47 [UNKNOWN]: Hey, yeah, I think you'll be in the next one.
54:47 --> 54:51 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I hope you share your support.
54:51 --> 54:53 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, okay Paul.
54:53 --> 54:55 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe it's fun to lie to his identity.
54:55 --> 54:59 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, we'll see, you know, this is the bit they could do, right?
54:59 --> 55:07 [UNKNOWN]: They could call him Paul and much like they called at the end of the, the very first spoiler, where MJ becomes,
55:13 --> 55:15 [UNKNOWN]: He could be Paul Harry.
55:16 --> 55:17 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly, it could be something like that.
55:18 --> 55:20 [UNKNOWN]: And that's how he's been Paul Paul Paul.
55:20 --> 55:22 [UNKNOWN]: I don't even, I don't even go with that.
55:22 --> 55:24 [UNKNOWN]: Because I don't want people to know my dad is.
55:24 --> 55:25 [UNKNOWN]: That's one.
55:25 --> 55:25 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
55:25 --> 55:29 [UNKNOWN]: That's the only reason I would think it would go along those lines.
55:29 --> 55:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
55:30 --> 55:31 [UNKNOWN]: And the other thing we do know a lot of...
55:32 --> 55:58 [UNKNOWN]: filming from this movie was called I think the original code this is about four hours when it was originally out it's already quite a long movie it's over two so so they did quite a quite a lot so we may get a lot something that you're on the extras for the for the blue ray when it comes out of dates with Paul and then Jay in the 4k process could get a little bit it's 4k blue ray that's a bit
55:59 --> 56:03 [UNKNOWN]: So, I really enjoyed this, the Hanukkah time.
56:03 --> 56:04 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
56:04 --> 56:27 [UNKNOWN]: And sorry, because this really embodies, again, by talking about how they stylized the action and the swinging and stuff, the stylized viewpoint of someone having a Hanukkah time, who has superpowers being able, like, yeah, if I wanna run away,
56:30 --> 56:31 [UNKNOWN]: So, hobbled in the street.
56:32 --> 56:38 [UNKNOWN]: If I had, if I was Peter Parker, yeah, and I would be able to run across rooftops and swing away.
56:40 --> 56:41 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not crying.
56:41 --> 56:42 [UNKNOWN]: It's just a dream in my face.
56:44 --> 56:46 [UNKNOWN]: And it's the wind gusts in the past.
56:48 --> 56:55 [UNKNOWN]: This is really cool and it's a fantastic kind of visual metaphor of him going through what he is.
56:56 --> 56:57 [UNKNOWN]: What's got happening to him?
56:58 --> 57:11 [UNKNOWN]: And we had do have the wolf talking to him about suppressing and him just focusing 24-7 on being Spider-Man and not taking him break and not just
57:20 --> 57:23 [UNKNOWN]: He full-on passes out.
57:23 --> 57:43 [UNKNOWN]: There are a few nods to him feeling some of these stress changes happening through at the beginning of the film where he is kind of touching where certain gooey implementations will come out of him and tendrils and we see him do that.
57:43 --> 57:44 [UNKNOWN]: We see him
57:47 --> 57:53 [UNKNOWN]: things like that to help with his headaches, all leading to him starting to change.
57:54 --> 58:01 [UNKNOWN]: He is becoming, he is mutating and gaining organic webbing.
58:01 --> 58:08 [UNKNOWN]: Because he wakes up in a web, a suck egg, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
58:08 --> 58:12 [UNKNOWN]: Again, another nice little nod back to Toby McGuire's organic.
58:13 --> 58:14 [UNKNOWN]: sort of Peter.
58:14 --> 58:24 [UNKNOWN]: I liked that he freaks him out because just there was just such a great discussion between the three Spider-Man around that in a no way home.
58:24 --> 58:26 [UNKNOWN]: So I like this kind of carries through here.
58:26 --> 58:27 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
58:27 --> 58:32 [UNKNOWN]: The key instantly round to the bathroom to check and see if if it came out of the rest of the world.
58:32 --> 58:36 [UNKNOWN]: I kind of liked the thing where he, you know, he falls down
58:38 --> 58:47 [UNKNOWN]: It's trying to understand it, and it's just that image of a splice of breaking out of it's access skeleton is kind of like saying,
58:55 --> 58:58 [UNKNOWN]: Is that going to happen to me?
58:58 --> 59:00 [UNKNOWN]: So I kind of really like this mutation.
59:01 --> 59:08 [UNKNOWN]: I like the fact that he does a really Peter Parker thing which is how can I control this?
59:09 --> 59:10 [UNKNOWN]: And I do like that.
59:10 --> 59:18 [UNKNOWN]: I like the fact that we're saying, you know, is he the Oppenheimer for, you know, the X-Men, the Bringer of Doom, really?
59:18 --> 59:20 [UNKNOWN]: No pun intended.
59:22 --> 59:30 [UNKNOWN]: around this suppression device that he sort of talks to Banner about.
59:30 --> 59:33 [UNKNOWN]: Again, I like that they bring the whole key in here.
59:33 --> 59:35 [UNKNOWN]: It's just a nice little cameo.
59:35 --> 59:36 [UNKNOWN]: It's more than a cameo.
59:36 --> 59:37 [UNKNOWN]: I love this.
59:37 --> 59:38 [UNKNOWN]: I love.
59:39 --> 59:44 [UNKNOWN]: banner having that conversation with him is like realize.
59:44 --> 59:51 [UNKNOWN]: It is different from my suppression of the gamma radiation and it's effects.
59:51 --> 59:53 [UNKNOWN]: This is a particular thing because
59:55 --> 01:00:18 [UNKNOWN]: Peter starts to talk about it as being a sort of overarching suppression of any gene that might and be different or mutate to give something different, and he kind of does that sort of moral or ethical quandary kind of behavior like what we have as Professor Baner saying that he's suppressed everything.
01:00:18 --> 01:00:21 [UNKNOWN]: He's now just a human that has the whole insight in which he's
01:00:24 --> 01:00:26 [UNKNOWN]: Could you choose the things to suppress?
01:00:26 --> 01:00:30 [UNKNOWN]: Could I go back to being Spider-Man and just suppress the things that don't want to suppress?
01:00:30 --> 01:00:35 [UNKNOWN]: And that's the really twisted moment of what he's saying.
01:00:35 --> 01:00:44 [UNKNOWN]: A bandage going to a language, and I was like, and you're basically saying, can you get rid of things that you don't like by creating a device that will stop whatever you choose?
01:00:45 --> 01:00:46 [UNKNOWN]: So who is it that chooses?
01:00:46 --> 01:00:48 [UNKNOWN]: What are the good things that are bad things are, you know?
01:00:49 --> 01:00:51 [UNKNOWN]: That becomes a kind of a eugenics question.
01:00:51 --> 01:00:52 [UNKNOWN]: It's right, yes.
01:00:53 --> 01:01:05 [UNKNOWN]: When you're going to have X and I'm at the University of World have loads of different powers, will you create the thing that will stop the XG, or will you create the thing that stops specific powers that are being created in the universe?
01:01:05 --> 01:01:06 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah.
01:01:06 --> 01:01:08 [UNKNOWN]: And especially the soul inhibitor.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:01:09 --> 01:01:15 [UNKNOWN]: And especially as it plays out in this movie with how damage control have dealt with Sarah.
01:01:15 --> 01:01:18 [UNKNOWN]: And yes, the deemed to be
01:01:19 --> 01:01:21 [UNKNOWN]: problematic for society.
01:01:21 --> 01:01:26 [UNKNOWN]: But this could be used as a weapon or whatever.
01:01:27 --> 01:01:32 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I kind of like this with Hulk doing his thing.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:34 [UNKNOWN]: To start the discussion as well.
01:01:34 --> 01:01:36 [UNKNOWN]: That's not, you know, this isn't the definitive
01:01:37 --> 01:01:53 [UNKNOWN]: This will carry on probably through six or seven spy X-Men movies in the future, but I love the discussion begins here And we have the two opposing sides the new science bros banner and Peter Parker having this discussion and banner kind of going And you can do it, maybe you shouldn't think about it
01:01:55 --> 01:02:04 [UNKNOWN]: But beyond that, there's also a discussion of two Peter, which is, are you then suppressing something that needs to be expressed?
01:02:05 --> 01:02:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:02:06 --> 01:02:16 [UNKNOWN]: And that leads to the, are you Peter Parker, or are you Spider-Man, Conjury that we have towards the, the pinnacle, the, the culmination of the film?
01:02:17 --> 01:02:22 [UNKNOWN]: Because to this point, he has been suppressing Peter Parker,
01:02:23 --> 01:02:39 [UNKNOWN]: and just be, and just becoming, just focusing on Spider-Man where he's no longer being that man he is just expressing himself as that one place one thing.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:42 [UNKNOWN]: So I like that.
01:02:43 --> 01:02:50 [UNKNOWN]: I like that interesting kind of take, which is we constantly talk with Spider-Man, great power, responsibility, and that will come up later.
01:02:51 --> 01:03:00 [UNKNOWN]: But this is an interesting new variation on that type of thing where it is, no, no, no, are you a hero, are you
01:03:01 --> 01:03:10 [UNKNOWN]: Are you a hero or are you human like who what is your identity and it is that kind of next step?
01:03:10 --> 01:03:14 [UNKNOWN]: It's an it is one thing I will say it is interesting is they've given us
01:03:16 --> 01:03:24 [UNKNOWN]: Bruce Banner, they give us Hulk, they give us smart Hulk, and now they've reverted and even he was smart Hulk up in the she Hulk.
01:03:24 --> 01:03:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, um, up until now he has been, um, just kind of that smart Hulk, he found the balance between, and now essentially we've said it's been pushed back to become no, no, no, no, no, no.
01:03:40 --> 01:03:44 [UNKNOWN]: He's fully suppressing it to be just Bruce Banner again.
01:03:46 --> 01:03:53 [UNKNOWN]: So we'll be in charge and actually towards the end of this, he's carted off somewhere, which we can talk more about later.
01:03:54 --> 01:04:00 [UNKNOWN]: But yes, so I think the great thing here is that because it, you know,
01:04:01 --> 01:04:02 [UNKNOWN]: it cuts through it, doesn't it?
01:04:02 --> 01:04:09 [UNKNOWN]: By having Hulk and Peter talk about it, cuts through it where it's not just purely an X-Men thing.
01:04:10 --> 01:04:17 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's also like you're saying Chris around, you know, with great powers comes great responsibility, but May was always saying that to Peter.
01:04:18 --> 01:04:20 [UNKNOWN]: Not to Spider-Man with him in the suit.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:24 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, it was about his powers, which was also expressing it to Peter.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:39 [UNKNOWN]: I am a mutant, a mutate, human, or can I be all three?
01:04:40 --> 01:04:50 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm glad that they've initiated this outside of X-Men because I think actually it's having that conversation here.
01:04:51 --> 01:04:52 [UNKNOWN]: is fresh.
01:04:53 --> 01:04:58 [UNKNOWN]: If it happens when the X-Men, I've seen that in four or five other movies.
01:04:58 --> 01:05:07 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's what I really enjoyed about this is it actually made me excited for X-Men because they weren't having that, you know, it is, you know,
01:05:08 --> 01:05:21 [UNKNOWN]: it's instead of Xavier and Magniso, you have it expressed through whole computer here, and into some degree, this never-ending conversation that happens in the X-Men movies.
01:05:21 --> 01:05:24 [UNKNOWN]: So it's like, this is really interesting.
01:05:24 --> 01:05:25 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
01:05:26 --> 01:05:27 [UNKNOWN]: And I hope they don't.
01:05:27 --> 01:05:32 [UNKNOWN]: It's really important to X-Men, I get it, but I hope that it's not always just
01:05:33 --> 01:05:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah absolutely I love that it's exactly as I bring bringing the point in now and also
01:05:39 --> 01:05:49 [UNKNOWN]: in the shadow of the spider noir, which was all about a muted spider man and multiple mutations and multiple experiments creating people with powers.
01:05:50 --> 01:05:58 [UNKNOWN]: I love that we have this as the follow-up and I don't think that was ever intended that that would be the case, but it's absolutely above mine, really, it's in there, it's watching it going on.
01:05:58 --> 01:06:03 [UNKNOWN]: We've just come out of a great series in the spiderverse set in an earlier time where we have
01:06:04 --> 01:06:15 [UNKNOWN]: people being experimented on and becoming powered individuals and here we have Peter mutating or becoming a mutacer and mutant ish version of Spiderman that's cool.
01:06:15 --> 01:06:18 [UNKNOWN]: And one of those was a scorpion, which I kind of quite like.
01:06:18 --> 01:06:30 [UNKNOWN]: So I do like scorpion as one of you know the sinister six and spider just by these kind of one of his nanases and of all of them I've always liked the scorpion
01:06:33 --> 01:06:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, it was also inspired in a while, have it with the scorpion and the jar.
01:06:37 --> 01:06:43 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, that is kind of an interesting also the chameleon which would have been quite good.
01:06:43 --> 01:06:45 [UNKNOWN]: That was the other.
01:06:50 --> 01:06:56 [UNKNOWN]: And that was also the other possibility for the villain of this movie was that it was going to be the Camillion who was taking on people's personas.
01:06:56 --> 01:06:59 [UNKNOWN]: That's why we had so many villains potentially going to be in the movie.
01:07:00 --> 01:07:05 [UNKNOWN]: But they went for Jean Grey and speaking of which we do need to speak about the other major character introduced here.
01:07:05 --> 01:07:07 [UNKNOWN]: So let's get on to our brand new point four.
01:07:11 --> 01:07:24 [UNKNOWN]: Our brand new point for is Gene Marley Gray as I as I want to call her What it introduce and what it what point by the way, but what an introduction.
01:07:24 --> 01:07:38 [UNKNOWN]: I this for me is how I want my xman introduced I agree of open till 2020 eight or twenty twenty nine when they do the proper Xman film like this slow
01:07:39 --> 01:07:52 [UNKNOWN]: proper introduction of your characters that we have seen before, because we've seen Gencre, we've seen Cyclops, we've seen Beast, we've seen all these the other takes on these characters.
01:07:53 --> 01:08:00 [UNKNOWN]: This, this slow Avengers introduction, getting us up to
01:08:01 --> 01:08:20 [UNKNOWN]: are Avengers film or Avengers style film later makes sense where because you're giving this and these characters time to breathe and one very unique take is to take
01:08:23 --> 01:08:24 [UNKNOWN]: morally great.
01:08:24 --> 01:08:34 [UNKNOWN]: She is the, and she is for all essential purpose of the antagonist of this film, open till the very end.
01:08:35 --> 01:08:36 [UNKNOWN]: Well, yeah, yeah, with we, I love it.
01:08:36 --> 01:08:37 [UNKNOWN]: It's the Rookpull, isn't it?
01:08:38 --> 01:08:40 [UNKNOWN]: You think, throughout the movie, she's the antagonist.
01:08:40 --> 01:08:44 [UNKNOWN]: You think the whole time, she's the one getting inspired, he's had, she's the one that's
01:08:44 --> 01:08:47 [UNKNOWN]: go against Spidey and then the big twist that it's not her at all.
01:08:48 --> 01:08:51 [UNKNOWN]: She's not trying to be antagonistic, but she's in the mind of Scorpion.
01:08:51 --> 01:09:04 [UNKNOWN]: That's where we, that's where Peter first really encender where he's fighting against Scorpion again, the person he'd put in prison at the beginning of the movie and Macargan saying to him, oh, you think, I'm Scorpion.
01:09:04 --> 01:09:05 [UNKNOWN]: Is that what you think I am?
01:09:06 --> 01:09:09 [UNKNOWN]: And then you realize, oh, it's Gene inside his hand, you know?
01:09:09 --> 01:09:11 [UNKNOWN]: And then she has the kind of
01:09:12 --> 01:09:22 [UNKNOWN]: Death wished for him standing in the way so she goes and possesses MJ, you know, pretty big moment to have MJ and versus Peter Parker.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:34 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, but just the way it was done as well, just again, it's like, again, the nod was the right way round or the right way up, I should say, it's that nod to the masking, you know, lifted and
01:09:42 --> 01:09:53 [UNKNOWN]: upside down, but it's so iconic, it's so meaningful from the comics from movies, and I had happy tears, yeah, yeah, I know exactly.
01:09:53 --> 01:09:57 [UNKNOWN]: MJ would remember him, she said that to and tell me you love me and I'll remember you.
01:09:57 --> 01:10:00 [UNKNOWN]: That's what she said to him in the last movie, and I went, oh, if they're doing that.
01:10:00 --> 01:10:02 [UNKNOWN]: It's a fantasy world, of course, like that.
01:10:02 --> 01:10:04 [UNKNOWN]: And it's the root, Paul.
01:10:04 --> 01:10:07 [UNKNOWN]: And this is what I totally agree with Chris.
01:10:07 --> 01:10:10 [UNKNOWN]: This is how I want my X-Men to be introduced.
01:10:10 --> 01:10:14 [UNKNOWN]: And certainly don't want them going anywhere near a school for the moment.
01:10:15 --> 01:10:16 [UNKNOWN]: And well.
01:10:16 --> 01:10:17 [UNKNOWN]: No, I know they will.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:18 [UNKNOWN]: I know they will.
01:10:19 --> 01:10:22 [UNKNOWN]: No, I mean literally at the end of the movie, one of them is going towards the school.
01:10:22 --> 01:10:22 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
01:10:22 --> 01:10:23 [UNKNOWN]: I agree.
01:10:23 --> 01:10:29 [UNKNOWN]: Because it had that whole... And it had the whole for a month thing with all the trees.
01:10:29 --> 01:10:31 [UNKNOWN]: No, I get that's going to be the...
01:10:31 --> 01:10:32 [UNKNOWN]: But...
01:10:32 --> 01:10:36 [UNKNOWN]: For me, it wasn't just the rugpull of like, well, who is this person?
01:10:36 --> 01:10:38 [UNKNOWN]: All the one who's like, which dream grade?
01:10:38 --> 01:10:46 [UNKNOWN]: It's the rugpull on the smaller intimate moments like that with Spider-Man, with Peter Parker, those challenges to him.
01:10:46 --> 01:10:54 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, she is the antagonist, but it's through misunderstanding and all the side of it is for me personally.
01:10:54 --> 01:10:57 [UNKNOWN]: Here, you have dream grade starting
01:10:59 --> 01:11:06 [UNKNOWN]: not the phoenix or anything like that, but is the person who's questionable with her morals.
01:11:06 --> 01:11:07 [UNKNOWN]: She's inhabiting other people.
01:11:08 --> 01:11:09 [UNKNOWN]: She's using them for own purposes.
01:11:09 --> 01:11:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, to try and get some justice for a sister.
01:11:13 --> 01:11:26 [UNKNOWN]: But realises through eventually being allowed in by the consent of Peter Parker into his mind, because he's the only one she's not being able to get inside his head.
01:11:27 --> 01:11:31 [UNKNOWN]: And here we have her essentially becoming gene.
01:11:31 --> 01:11:33 [UNKNOWN]: Like, and I like that.
01:11:34 --> 01:11:38 [UNKNOWN]: Realizing maybe she went about it the wrong way.
01:11:38 --> 01:11:44 [UNKNOWN]: However, despicable damage control has been and director Metzker, all this.
01:11:45 --> 01:11:47 [UNKNOWN]: And I kind of liked that because
01:11:51 --> 01:11:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I, I just liked that because I, it's a bit like the fantastic for with me with X-Men.
01:11:58 --> 01:12:02 [UNKNOWN]: I'm kind of like seen it done it and I'm glad they're doing it differently.
01:12:02 --> 01:12:03 [UNKNOWN]: They have to.
01:12:04 --> 01:12:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think they really have to.
01:12:06 --> 01:12:10 [UNKNOWN]: But, um, and this is a really fantastic start for an introducing Gingray who,
01:12:11 --> 01:12:16 [UNKNOWN]: of those shows, I wouldn't necessarily have been like, oh yeah, Jean Grey, yay.
01:12:17 --> 01:12:36 [UNKNOWN]: And they're relegated to, well that's Cyclops's girlfriend and Wolverine likes her and then she becomes the phoenix and that's always been her story and that's kind of it that's all they've ever oh sorry occasionally she's the mother of a future mutant that will take over the world or it will start the end of the world, you know, that's kind of it, it's either mother, wife or
01:12:37 --> 01:12:42 [UNKNOWN]: Ender of the Ender of World.
01:12:42 --> 01:13:04 [UNKNOWN]: So I also love that poor Sadie Sink for the entirety of the last six months It's been asked over and over again who you play and who you play and then she's like I can't tell you basically And so she hasn't been able to say that she's been playing Jean Grey and when I love about that now after seeing the movie is that she wasn't Sadie Sink of course with playing Jean Grey but the character of Jean Grey was in the body of
01:13:05 --> 01:13:21 [UNKNOWN]: 50 people in the movie so actually 50 people could have said we're all playing Jean Grey basically which I love the little we are we are Jean Grey yes it's kind of cool I also do like as well that they are foreshadowing her rage element fights you know we have the whole thing of
01:13:23 --> 01:13:30 [UNKNOWN]: Well, Sarah can only jump 30, 34, so, you know, let's stay 35 foot away from it.
01:13:30 --> 01:13:36 [UNKNOWN]: And her superpowers suddenly pretty lame at what we do see here is keep right here.
01:13:36 --> 01:13:37 [UNKNOWN]: The other pole will be fine.
01:13:37 --> 01:13:42 [UNKNOWN]: No, but the rage element for her as well, we're okay at this stage though.
01:13:42 --> 01:13:46 [UNKNOWN]: That means it goes to this kilometer square.
01:13:46 --> 01:13:49 [UNKNOWN]: And across New York, it pulls in Ned and MJ.
01:13:49 --> 01:13:50 [UNKNOWN]: You know, you see,
01:13:51 --> 01:14:01 [UNKNOWN]: you know there's some there's a real threat here from Jean Grey but it and it's coming from something hugely emotional in this damage control facility.
01:14:01 --> 01:14:17 [UNKNOWN]: So for me this like blew away all the other previous like dark phoenix storylines that had happened because I just had no had no feeling towards Jean Grey here I did here and I so as Chris coming back to that
01:14:19 --> 01:14:24 [UNKNOWN]: That's how I want the introduced version to be my X-Men very slowly one movie at a time.
01:14:24 --> 01:14:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
01:14:27 --> 01:14:30 [UNKNOWN]: So the interesting, there's a few things we kind of pulling in here.
01:14:30 --> 01:14:31 [UNKNOWN]: One, you're right.
01:14:31 --> 01:14:36 [UNKNOWN]: Sadie think is since has and likely so is.
01:14:38 --> 01:14:44 [UNKNOWN]: be has signed herself up to become a new lead, a new star within the MCU.
01:14:44 --> 01:14:45 [UNKNOWN]: She's young.
01:14:45 --> 01:14:46 [UNKNOWN]: She's much like them today.
01:14:46 --> 01:14:50 [UNKNOWN]: She will slowly take over the world in her acting chops.
01:14:50 --> 01:14:57 [UNKNOWN]: She must be so happy that her character spent most of the time in a coma, so she didn't need to be much acting in the industry to think the last two seasons.
01:14:57 --> 01:15:00 [UNKNOWN]: She'll take a walk and do things like this, you know?
01:15:02 --> 01:15:12 [UNKNOWN]: They are foreshadowing that mutants are there now, are around, but also they are foreshadowing that under extreme environmental pressure.
01:15:13 --> 01:15:34 [UNKNOWN]: a secondary mutations can happen, and so they're saying that, like, due to, I think it's going to be because of an ugly, well, their version of climate change, which is, I think you're thinking of Captain Planachon, I love the X-Men.
01:15:34 --> 01:15:39 [UNKNOWN]: To me, my heart, like the kid always had the worst power
01:15:41 --> 01:15:54 [UNKNOWN]: fire, wind, water, heart, even the monkey was like, I don't know, anyway, the, they're for shadowing that there is the secondary mutation.
01:15:54 --> 01:16:00 [UNKNOWN]: It is, and the mutations have come about, I think they're going to say is because of the snubs.
01:16:01 --> 01:16:15 [UNKNOWN]: Um, so gamma radiation radiations come around throughout the universe because, and that's triggered the snaps, uh, click clicks, and that is going to be so you are essentially saying that banner and, um,
01:16:16 --> 01:16:22 [UNKNOWN]: Tony Stark with their finger clicking um has essentially started this.
01:16:22 --> 01:16:30 [UNKNOWN]: They are the the progressners of the the the the new mutation He just wants to say finger clicking good job.
01:16:30 --> 01:16:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, sorry
01:16:32 --> 01:16:33 [UNKNOWN]: Because it is.
01:16:33 --> 01:16:34 [UNKNOWN]: That's a really interesting one.
01:16:34 --> 01:16:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, the returned people after the snaps.
01:16:37 --> 01:16:40 [UNKNOWN]: Some of them could potentially have situations because they disappeared for five years.
01:16:41 --> 01:16:44 [UNKNOWN]: Presumably, everybody that was on a plane gets flight powers.
01:16:44 --> 01:16:45 [UNKNOWN]: That's how they were able to survive.
01:16:45 --> 01:16:45 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
01:16:45 --> 01:16:46 [UNKNOWN]: That's a great question.
01:16:46 --> 01:16:47 [UNKNOWN]: That's a great question.
01:16:48 --> 01:16:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, like stuff like that.
01:16:49 --> 01:16:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I really love that theory that that's really, really interesting theory.
01:16:53 --> 01:17:01 [UNKNOWN]: Um, what, what are the other massive things that happens, uh, but don't, we don't want to skip over this, uh, moment with, uh, Jean Grey controlling characters in this movie.
01:17:01 --> 01:17:01 [UNKNOWN]: We had Scorpion.
01:17:01 --> 01:17:13 [UNKNOWN]: We had MJ, which is the, the broken heart of the movie where she basically tells Tom Holland's heel never gets MJ back, because she's seen inside MJ's mind and there's literally nothing of Peter Parker in there.
01:17:14 --> 01:17:21 [UNKNOWN]: and then we have her going after your damage control by getting into the head of the hook.
01:17:21 --> 01:17:27 [UNKNOWN]: And we have the team up of Peter and Frank versus the hook.
01:17:27 --> 01:17:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that was great.
01:17:28 --> 01:17:40 [UNKNOWN]: Because of MJ, even though MJ may never fall in love with Peter Parker, she does want to save Spider-Man, and does send Frank in to help him actually up in damage control.
01:17:40 --> 01:17:40 [UNKNOWN]: It's cool.
01:17:41 --> 01:18:09 [UNKNOWN]: John Bernthall doing his John most John Bernthall what we have discussed in all the Punishers Him doing that while firing high-collarber weapon into the Hulk face Is just iconic like it is just like he is not here's a fly swathing and like buzzing around a Hulk
01:18:10 --> 01:18:10 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
01:18:11 --> 01:18:24 [UNKNOWN]: There's two amazing moments as there's the one where the Hulk is running at Spider-Man again, a very reminiscent of the Hulk versus Black Widow back in the first Avengers but where Spidey flips over him.
01:18:25 --> 01:18:35 [UNKNOWN]: grabs Punisher with a web pulling him underneath the hook and looks like the best comic book cover and then later on when the two of them were talking and Frank is using his usual mentality.
01:18:35 --> 01:18:38 [UNKNOWN]: Well, you got to kill Jean Gray because she's the she's the biggest bad.
01:18:38 --> 01:18:47 [UNKNOWN]: You got to shoot her in the head and Spidey goes, do you just want to get aches of fighting the hook and Frank goes, yes, I do, yes, I do, yes, I do, yes, I do, yes, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do
01:18:47 --> 01:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, great moments.
01:18:50 --> 01:18:50 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, yeah.
01:18:50 --> 01:18:53 [UNKNOWN]: So and again, you can do that in a Punisher film.
01:18:53 --> 01:18:56 [UNKNOWN]: You could do that in a rated art, right?
01:18:57 --> 01:19:06 [UNKNOWN]: But I think partially because they had to distill this character into the films, I had to distill this into a Spider-Man film, which is a bit more accessible for one.
01:19:07 --> 01:19:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think that version of
01:19:10 --> 01:19:27 [UNKNOWN]: The Punisher is way more accessible, I think, is because he's giving, I think we saw touches of that with the Debra and Wall back and forth and some of his interactions with math in Charlie Cox in Deira.
01:19:27 --> 01:19:42 [UNKNOWN]: At the point that was actually making to John earlier on about this, Chris was for five seasons, the three Daredevil seasons, these two seasons of board again, the seasons of Punisher, you know, the argument from Punisher has always been shoot them in the head.
01:19:42 --> 01:19:43 [UNKNOWN]: That's what he does.
01:19:43 --> 01:19:48 [UNKNOWN]: And we talked about it over and over again, it's Frank Wright, shoot them in the head, is that the way to take it, your villains.
01:19:49 --> 01:19:53 [UNKNOWN]: That's not Murdoch's way, and here it is again presented exactly the same way.
01:19:53 --> 01:19:54 [UNKNOWN]: He's the same character.
01:19:54 --> 01:19:59 [UNKNOWN]: As he's always been, he's just doesn't have to swear all the time and doesn't have to cut people's heads off.
01:19:59 --> 01:20:02 [UNKNOWN]: It doesn't have to use the weapon that kills people all the time.
01:20:02 --> 01:20:03 [UNKNOWN]: You can do both.
01:20:03 --> 01:20:04 [UNKNOWN]: It's the point.
01:20:04 --> 01:20:07 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't always have to be an orrated character because he was for
01:20:08 --> 01:20:09 [UNKNOWN]: Seven issues of a comic book.
01:20:09 --> 01:20:10 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't have to be.
01:20:10 --> 01:20:12 [UNKNOWN]: He was a rain for 50 years.
01:20:12 --> 01:20:20 [UNKNOWN]: He has got issues where he was in comic books with Carriages like Howard the Duck he's been in comic books with Marvel characters.
01:20:20 --> 01:20:22 [UNKNOWN]: He doesn't have to go and killing everybody Where it goes.
01:20:22 --> 01:20:23 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I'm quite right.
01:20:23 --> 01:20:27 [UNKNOWN]: I'm a side old maniac Frank Castle with Howard Howard.
01:20:27 --> 01:20:28 [UNKNOWN]: That would be great.
01:20:28 --> 01:20:28 [UNKNOWN]: I would actually I won't
01:20:29 --> 01:20:42 [UNKNOWN]: Plucked and hung up for a while, and I think it's, I think it's, it might be any of their zombies or punish or kills the Marvel Universe, if I, if I, if I, if I'm a memory serve, so maybe he does kill.
01:20:42 --> 01:20:47 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think also as well, like he can't firing and go in at the halt because it doesn't matter.
01:20:47 --> 01:20:48 [UNKNOWN]: He can exactly.
01:20:49 --> 01:20:51 [UNKNOWN]: It's the whole, you know, it bounces off.
01:20:51 --> 01:20:59 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, even the bombs that he uses, like, rather than it being grenades, it looks kind of like some kind of shittari type tech or whatever.
01:20:59 --> 01:21:00 [UNKNOWN]: No, it's it's Peter's tech.
01:21:00 --> 01:21:03 [UNKNOWN]: It's Peter's exploding, um, uh, webs.
01:21:03 --> 01:21:07 [UNKNOWN]: So that's that's what he took what Tom Holland took from, uh, the video game.
01:21:07 --> 01:21:12 [UNKNOWN]: It's the, uh, it's the web explodeers that he, uh, that he puts around the vault.
01:21:12 --> 01:21:13 [UNKNOWN]: No, that's the other one.
01:21:13 --> 01:21:14 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:21:14 --> 01:21:15 [UNKNOWN]: That's what I meant.
01:21:15 --> 01:21:15 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:21:15 --> 01:21:16 [UNKNOWN]: That's what I meant.
01:21:16 --> 01:21:19 [UNKNOWN]: Those even those ones that actually have got a bit of warmth to them.
01:21:19 --> 01:21:20 [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm.
01:21:20 --> 01:21:22 [UNKNOWN]: You know, it's kind of... Yeah.
01:21:22 --> 01:21:23 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:21:23 --> 01:21:26 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, you can fire at will and it just matters.
01:21:26 --> 01:21:27 [UNKNOWN]: It's the Hulk.
01:21:27 --> 01:21:27 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:21:28 --> 01:21:29 [UNKNOWN]: It's great for the punishment.
01:21:29 --> 01:21:30 [UNKNOWN]: She'll put the two of them.
01:21:30 --> 01:21:33 [UNKNOWN]: up against each other, absolutely makes, makes total sense.
01:21:33 --> 01:21:35 [UNKNOWN]: But we do get another moment with the whole care.
01:21:36 --> 01:21:42 [UNKNOWN]: As you mentioned earlier on Chris, we have Professor Banner who is now exercised of the whole keynote.
01:21:42 --> 01:21:52 [UNKNOWN]: He's in there, but he's keeping them trapped and he talks to Peter if you ever see me, but this thing on my wrist, Ron, and of course that's the first thing the Peter sees when he walks in.
01:21:52 --> 01:21:58 [UNKNOWN]: He sees the smashed version of it, so he knows he can't do anything to get Banner back.
01:21:58 --> 01:22:09 [UNKNOWN]: But we see Bannerhulk, we see that version of the Hulk which is still parse Bruce Banner, which is controlled by Eugen Gray in the initial part of the fight.
01:22:09 --> 01:22:10 [UNKNOWN]: And then something happens.
01:22:11 --> 01:22:18 [UNKNOWN]: There's a break to his mind and you see the struggle on Eugen Gray's face when she's trying to keep control of and the fight's going on.
01:22:19 --> 01:22:20 [UNKNOWN]: Something happens.
01:22:20 --> 01:22:24 [UNKNOWN]: The barrier breaks down and we have the excellent moment of
01:22:25 --> 01:22:32 [UNKNOWN]: Hulk saying no banner, no girl, only Hulk, and he is absolutely gigantic.
01:22:32 --> 01:22:37 [UNKNOWN]: We haven't seen this Hulk, certainly since the first avenger, and even then, even then.
01:22:39 --> 01:22:44 [UNKNOWN]: Banner had some kind of control over him because he said, I'm always angry back then.
01:22:44 --> 01:22:55 [UNKNOWN]: So trying to think when with the next, I may be age of old trunk, when no one hook was in hook was kind of broken and he went after Iron Man was not the last time we really saw this version of the hook and it replies off of the space.
01:22:56 --> 01:23:09 [UNKNOWN]: No, literally this was at Norton, like for the sizing of it, it was at Norton, because that is within the MCU, it's that-sized.
01:23:10 --> 01:23:15 [UNKNOWN]: So, when he was on Planet Hulker, that version in Thor or Ragnaracht, that was no banner there.
01:23:15 --> 01:23:19 [UNKNOWN]: Banner didn't know what was going on during that whole time, so maybe a little bit of that, maybe.
01:23:25 --> 01:23:27 [UNKNOWN]: They, they, they voted in my team.
01:23:27 --> 01:23:29 [UNKNOWN]: He, he, they, like, he was big.
01:23:29 --> 01:23:34 [UNKNOWN]: And I, Peter Parker, like, Tom Adams, I was like, they didn't know you got that big.
01:23:34 --> 01:23:39 [UNKNOWN]: Like, because, again, it's been a while since we've seen this hook.
01:23:40 --> 01:23:40 [UNKNOWN]: And it is.
01:23:42 --> 01:23:43 [UNKNOWN]: Spectacular.
01:23:43 --> 01:23:44 [UNKNOWN]: So cool.
01:23:44 --> 01:23:45 [UNKNOWN]: It is amazing.
01:23:45 --> 01:23:46 [UNKNOWN]: It is sensation.
01:23:47 --> 01:23:55 [UNKNOWN]: And we see that amazing moment with the Hulk's fist, surrounding Spidey's head as he starts talking.
01:23:55 --> 01:23:58 [UNKNOWN]: That in itself shows you the size of the Hulk there.
01:23:58 --> 01:24:01 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that was a really, really good moment.
01:24:01 --> 01:24:02 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, interestingly,
01:24:04 --> 01:24:05 [UNKNOWN]: Parker gets through to him here.
01:24:05 --> 01:24:07 [UNKNOWN]: He says, yes, to him, Bruce, it's me.
01:24:07 --> 01:24:13 [UNKNOWN]: It's your friend Peter and Hulk steps back away from this is how to your point Chris.
01:24:13 --> 01:24:19 [UNKNOWN]: This is how Ed Norton's Hulk was defeated or was calm down back in that first in the first movie.
01:24:19 --> 01:24:25 [UNKNOWN]: Someone he loved was able to get through the monster and and he backs away.
01:24:25 --> 01:24:28 [UNKNOWN]: So Hulk backs away and falls over the building because he's
01:24:30 --> 01:24:35 [UNKNOWN]: webed up to about 9 million tombs worth of a worth of building debris.
01:24:36 --> 01:24:40 [UNKNOWN]: And we see Banner returned and taken off to hospital.
01:24:40 --> 01:24:46 [UNKNOWN]: He has no memory of what's happened because Jean was in his mind and then the whole camera and he thinks he's done really bad things.
01:24:46 --> 01:24:52 [UNKNOWN]: And I don't know whether you noticed it in the end and the final news reports at the end of the movie.
01:24:52 --> 01:24:53 [UNKNOWN]: There is a mention that
01:24:53 --> 01:24:55 [UNKNOWN]: Bruce Banner has become Hulk and has now gone.
01:24:55 --> 01:24:56 [UNKNOWN]: He's been taken away.
01:24:56 --> 01:24:58 [UNKNOWN]: We're not going to see him.
01:24:58 --> 01:25:00 [UNKNOWN]: Bruce Banner Hulk for a very long time.
01:25:00 --> 01:25:01 [UNKNOWN]: He is in prison.
01:25:01 --> 01:25:06 [UNKNOWN]: So unless there's a big break at moment, we're not going to see him in chat in the way to the Avengers in the future.
01:25:07 --> 01:25:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they don't say he's prisoned in prison.
01:25:10 --> 01:25:13 [UNKNOWN]: They say he's been he's been well.
01:25:13 --> 01:25:14 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's
01:25:15 --> 01:25:16 [UNKNOWN]: institutionalized.
01:25:16 --> 01:25:17 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
01:25:17 --> 01:25:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:25:17 --> 01:25:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
01:25:19 --> 01:25:20 [UNKNOWN]: Which is really interesting choice.
01:25:21 --> 01:25:22 [UNKNOWN]: So it will be
01:25:26 --> 01:25:31 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and I'm very curious to see how they bring this all together.
01:25:31 --> 01:25:36 [UNKNOWN]: I think he is I think he's on the raft I think that's where they're putting him.
01:25:36 --> 01:25:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, they put a lot of the character they put Harrison Ford Yeah, that's he looks on the raft.
01:25:42 --> 01:25:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, exactly.
01:25:44 --> 01:25:48 [UNKNOWN]: So I think what we'll end up getting is the raft itself will actually play a part in
01:25:54 --> 01:26:00 [UNKNOWN]: I've read the common books you will remember there was a thing called the raft as well, different things.
01:26:00 --> 01:26:01 [UNKNOWN]: So I think that thing will be that thing.
01:26:03 --> 01:26:05 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
01:26:06 --> 01:26:09 [UNKNOWN]: But yes, just to say it as you guys are talking about the,
01:26:10 --> 01:26:15 [UNKNOWN]: Um, inhibitor that Peter created, he created a universal one try to use it on the back of the Hulk.
01:26:15 --> 01:26:16 [UNKNOWN]: But of course, it took skin.
01:26:16 --> 01:26:17 [UNKNOWN]: It's impenetrable.
01:26:18 --> 01:26:24 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but he does use it on Jean Grey and stops her parents just as she's controlling Frank Castle.
01:26:25 --> 01:26:32 [UNKNOWN]: Um, to use his gun wielding skills to take out the head of damage control and get this thing that she's been looking for this VMAX.
01:26:32 --> 01:26:35 [UNKNOWN]: That she's been talking about and trying to find.
01:26:35 --> 01:26:37 [UNKNOWN]: Um, she uses Frank Castle.
01:26:38 --> 01:26:44 [UNKNOWN]: really cool touch with Jumper, a channeling Sadie Sink when he's been taken over.
01:26:44 --> 01:26:49 [UNKNOWN]: I love the he just does a little moment of, um, of, uh, good luck with that.
01:26:49 --> 01:26:51 [UNKNOWN]: That's, that's, that's, Spidey is about to fight the whole himself.
01:26:51 --> 01:26:52 [UNKNOWN]: I thought that was quite fun.
01:26:53 --> 01:26:56 [UNKNOWN]: Um, but yeah, she, he takes out her powers by using this.
01:26:56 --> 01:27:01 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, uh, and that would, yeah, which will, uh, if we talk to death with this.
01:27:02 --> 01:27:08 [UNKNOWN]: going to be huge because it is used very moments later by damage control.
01:27:08 --> 01:27:15 [UNKNOWN]: But one quick piece I just kind of want to quickly just kind of end on is that the VMAX McGuffin.
01:27:16 --> 01:27:23 [UNKNOWN]: in that, like, I don't know about you guys, but for this whole point, all the way up here, what was being maxed.
01:27:23 --> 01:27:33 [UNKNOWN]: I was so curious and being a Marvel nerd, I am running through everything.
01:27:34 --> 01:27:42 [UNKNOWN]: I am like, is it a weapon X, is Web Fee Max, is it a weapon 5, maximum version of weapon 5, and I'm like, who's weapon 5?
01:27:43 --> 01:27:48 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, and the weapon X program, I was running through it all, and
01:27:49 --> 01:27:52 [UNKNOWN]: it's will talk what is Vmax in a page.
01:27:52 --> 01:28:04 [UNKNOWN]: But up to this point, I'm like looking around this vault because we had been led to believe that potentially whatever was Vmax was in that vault and because one spider might have gone in met with masquer.
01:28:05 --> 01:28:07 [UNKNOWN]: He was like, oh, it's not like he got it in there.
01:28:07 --> 01:28:15 [UNKNOWN]: So I'm like, I know everything going well was Vmax and not not understanding
01:28:19 --> 01:28:24 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I had at this point thought Fee Max was a formula.
01:28:24 --> 01:28:25 [UNKNOWN]: It was another shoot.
01:28:25 --> 01:28:26 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was a formula.
01:28:26 --> 01:28:28 [UNKNOWN]: I thought it was a, I was the same.
01:28:28 --> 01:28:30 [UNKNOWN]: I was the same as you because I was, I think, what is this?
01:28:30 --> 01:28:32 [UNKNOWN]: Because it, it just felt so juicy.
01:28:33 --> 01:28:34 [UNKNOWN]: Like, okay, what is this?
01:28:35 --> 01:28:39 [UNKNOWN]: And just because you've got things like doomsday, you know, all this stuff going on.
01:28:39 --> 01:28:41 [UNKNOWN]: And you're like, what is this really,
01:28:41 --> 01:28:58 [UNKNOWN]: important thing, we do not give enough credit to Marvel writers, I have to stress this, it must be so difficult to write these stories because if anything leaks out from the sad, suddenly there's a video on YouTube, I bet it, it's speculated what it's going to be.
01:28:58 --> 01:29:01 [UNKNOWN]: If this word vmax leaks out,
01:29:01 --> 01:29:09 [UNKNOWN]: It means nothing, so that's fine, that doesn't ruin the movie, but I guarantee there is about 20 different videos ready to go about what VMAX was.
01:29:09 --> 01:29:18 [UNKNOWN]: There's loads of people sitting in that auditorium on the first night going, oh, when I get up tomorrow morning, I'm going to be filming my video about what VMAX is and what the history of it is in Marvel Comics.
01:29:18 --> 01:29:23 [UNKNOWN]: I just need to get home after this movie, and I'm ready to go with my content for tomorrow, but there's nothing there for me to talk about.
01:29:24 --> 01:29:30 [UNKNOWN]: It's a great trick that they've used here to make all of us think it's going to be something massive.
01:29:30 --> 01:29:33 [UNKNOWN]: Is this the Marvel's version of the mutant gene?
01:29:33 --> 01:29:35 [UNKNOWN]: Is it Vmax in this universe?
01:29:35 --> 01:29:36 [UNKNOWN]: Is that what she's calling?
01:29:36 --> 01:29:37 [UNKNOWN]: It's something like that.
01:29:37 --> 01:29:39 [UNKNOWN]: It is a combat fee.
01:29:39 --> 01:29:43 [UNKNOWN]: Well, for all of our boys listeners, that's where my brain is.
01:29:44 --> 01:29:46 [UNKNOWN]: I did kind of have a...
01:29:46 --> 01:29:47 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
01:29:48 --> 01:29:49 [UNKNOWN]: I did.
01:29:49 --> 01:29:52 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not going to lie about it, but I think that's
01:29:53 --> 01:30:07 [UNKNOWN]: But that's you either go two ways I think with that and they went that way and I like it Okay, I get this fine, but I was kind of just Okay, but I just actually get let's get into it.
01:30:08 --> 01:30:13 [UNKNOWN]: Should we get into the discussion our final point of like the finale and It all absolutely
01:30:15 --> 01:30:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, our final brand new point, brand new point five, are you Peter Parker or are you Spider-Man?
01:30:21 --> 01:30:22 [UNKNOWN]: I'm both.
01:30:22 --> 01:30:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, so we find out that yes, it turns out the villain for the entire movie has been damaged control.
01:30:28 --> 01:30:33 [UNKNOWN]: We probably should have suspected when the hand were working for them a security in the opening scene.
01:30:34 --> 01:30:38 [UNKNOWN]: Um, yeah, I just realize that there are just young people that need some direction.
01:30:38 --> 01:30:44 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, from a super villain like you maybe Although in the comic books dare level does become the leader of the hand.
01:30:44 --> 01:30:46 [UNKNOWN]: So, yes, okay, maybe.
01:30:46 --> 01:30:48 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he is also evil.
01:30:48 --> 01:30:49 [UNKNOWN]: Well, he's going to be honest.
01:30:49 --> 01:30:49 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:30:49 --> 01:30:55 [UNKNOWN]: So, well, but yes, we should have suspected that the reason why we haven't got the actor who's been
01:30:56 --> 01:31:07 [UNKNOWN]: playing the head of the DODC for in movies and TV shows for the last couple of years, including Spider-Man, while he wasn't here as because the main villain is going to be a part of the damage control, right?
01:31:07 --> 01:31:08 [UNKNOWN]: We should have guessed that.
01:31:09 --> 01:31:10 [UNKNOWN]: Should have, shouldn't it?
01:31:10 --> 01:31:15 [UNKNOWN]: But like I do like this, that this makes the set of damage control as the
01:31:17 --> 01:31:24 [UNKNOWN]: Has the big bad government kind of agency go before it did?
01:31:24 --> 01:31:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, I did.
01:31:26 --> 01:31:28 [UNKNOWN]: Are they just, have they just been destroyed by the end of this movie?
01:31:28 --> 01:31:33 [UNKNOWN]: I just think that human resources is bad because they've clearly hired the wrong people.
01:31:33 --> 01:31:37 [UNKNOWN]: But I mean, I think they kind of are on the arms.
01:31:37 --> 01:31:38 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I think.
01:31:39 --> 01:31:49 [UNKNOWN]: that's where they can sort of play, they're kind of just the gray, yeah, government organization and it's the individuals.
01:31:49 --> 01:31:54 [UNKNOWN]: I think that was the thing with the V-max thing because you had the director saying, I don't know anything about it.
01:31:55 --> 01:32:01 [UNKNOWN]: I was like, oh my goodness, this means it's even bigger than the director of damage control.
01:32:01 --> 01:32:03 [UNKNOWN]: This, like, there's all the ways
01:32:06 --> 01:32:21 [UNKNOWN]: there's a little bit of shield or shield in space and it's going to so me come back or whatever, you know and so but again I just love in retrospect when you're looking back at Agent Cleary who's the other
01:32:22 --> 01:32:28 [UNKNOWN]: Department of Damage Code character that we saw back to no way home, back to Wonderman and back to Miss Marvel.
01:32:28 --> 01:32:34 [UNKNOWN]: His intent has always been to find people with powers and maybe bring them in or maybe do something to them.
01:32:35 --> 01:32:37 [UNKNOWN]: And they are that's gone to the end of the extreme.
01:32:38 --> 01:32:45 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man captures the villains and then they turn them to the side of the Department of Dabbage Control, use their weaponry as their ability.
01:32:45 --> 01:32:54 [UNKNOWN]: So again, similar to Nick Fury's speech back in Avengers, you know, they wanted to create something to stop the gods from invading Earth.
01:32:54 --> 01:33:01 [UNKNOWN]: Department of Dabbage Control are filling that void here under Matsuri, looking for something to use parrot individuals.
01:33:02 --> 01:33:06 [UNKNOWN]: on the behalf of people that don't have any powers, I guess, right?
01:33:06 --> 01:33:09 [UNKNOWN]: So that's really interesting.
01:33:09 --> 01:33:19 [UNKNOWN]: But he had in the past experimented on Sarah Gray, Jean Gray's sister who in this world has a very similar power to Jean Gray.
01:33:19 --> 01:33:26 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think that's the case in the comics, she's also a, she's a character of the first, I think the first appearance I was reading at the other day, the first appearance
01:33:31 --> 01:33:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, and they've back on to make some different changes, but of course that happens with characters are 60 years old.
01:33:38 --> 01:33:39 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:33:39 --> 01:33:41 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah, she has a hidden sister who's also a parrot.
01:33:41 --> 01:33:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that makes sense.
01:33:42 --> 01:33:42 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that makes sense.
01:33:42 --> 01:33:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, that makes sense.
01:33:43 --> 01:33:43 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:33:43 --> 01:33:43 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:33:43 --> 01:33:44 [UNKNOWN]: Well, wait, wait, wait, wait to do it.
01:33:45 --> 01:33:52 [UNKNOWN]: But I did enjoy Sarah Gray and I did enjoy that this flick on them.
01:33:52 --> 01:34:03 [UNKNOWN]: They have been experimenting on mutants to force them to take a figure out to understand their powers so that they may use them in the right way.
01:34:04 --> 01:34:05 [UNKNOWN]: They'll give it to each other.
01:34:05 --> 01:34:06 [UNKNOWN]: Give it to each other.
01:34:06 --> 01:34:08 [UNKNOWN]: They want to give it to each other.
01:34:08 --> 01:34:09 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
01:34:11 --> 01:34:11 [UNKNOWN]: Definitely.
01:34:11 --> 01:34:36 [UNKNOWN]: Again, putting us into weapon-ext kind of Wolverine level stuff, putting us into super-soldier, putting us into, in the comic books when Norman Osborne ran shield and basically built his own Dark Avengers and his own Dark Shield and used technology, the good technology for bad, or what they thought was good to post a civil war.
01:34:40 --> 01:34:52 [UNKNOWN]: Mascar, Mascar is a bad character, or a great character, miss such a character, but exactly, and then that got us to V-Max.
01:34:53 --> 01:34:57 [UNKNOWN]: I like this, I like that V-Max was nothing.
01:34:58 --> 01:35:07 [UNKNOWN]: I like that it turns out it was the last thing she saw Sarah saw before she died and it was ventilation max.
01:35:07 --> 01:35:18 [UNKNOWN]: So the air venta buffer as she died and she sent out those words to gene and they registered it on her final communication.
01:35:18 --> 01:35:20 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, it's really important.
01:35:20 --> 01:35:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's not nothing.
01:35:21 --> 01:35:23 [UNKNOWN]: It's the moment that
01:35:24 --> 01:35:29 [UNKNOWN]: her sisters, Paris also jumped to a higher level than they had been at before.
01:35:29 --> 01:35:32 [UNKNOWN]: They could've jumped 33 fees just before she died.
01:35:32 --> 01:35:35 [UNKNOWN]: She, her parrot exploded and landed with jeans.
01:35:35 --> 01:35:37 [UNKNOWN]: So it's almost like at that moment.
01:35:37 --> 01:35:40 [UNKNOWN]: It's not just the rage that inspires Jean Paris.
01:35:40 --> 01:35:45 [UNKNOWN]: It's also she realizes, hang on a second, my sister was able to break through that barrier that she's always had.
01:35:46 --> 01:35:47 [UNKNOWN]: I can do that too.
01:35:47 --> 01:35:49 [UNKNOWN]: So it's a little bit of a mix of both things.
01:35:49 --> 01:35:50 [UNKNOWN]: It's not just that.
01:35:51 --> 01:35:53 [UNKNOWN]: she gets really angry and can jump her parents as well.
01:35:53 --> 01:35:54 [UNKNOWN]: So she has a little nod there.
01:35:55 --> 01:35:55 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, hang on a second.
01:35:55 --> 01:35:59 [UNKNOWN]: My sister in her final moments pushed past those limits.
01:35:59 --> 01:36:00 [UNKNOWN]: I can do that.
01:36:01 --> 01:36:01 [UNKNOWN]: I think.
01:36:02 --> 01:36:03 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, that could be it.
01:36:03 --> 01:36:10 [UNKNOWN]: I I talk it is more just that like it is that we have seen secondary mutations across films across bits.
01:36:11 --> 01:36:27 [UNKNOWN]: I took it as we had seen as they were pushing Jean Jean was already in showing that secondary piece because they go something's changing and they think it wasn't just purple flashes, pink flashes too on the screen.
01:36:28 --> 01:36:33 [UNKNOWN]: I liked it because it wasn't those things, the V-max.
01:36:33 --> 01:36:37 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, it was something, but it wasn't what we had all been expected.
01:36:38 --> 01:36:48 [UNKNOWN]: Like, I think that's a sign of a good, some of these good writers that marble and in this case, Sony brought in to them to you.
01:36:48 --> 01:36:56 [UNKNOWN]: They've, in that they're showing us something we haven't seen, which is, it wasn't something that we could all pour over the war.
01:36:57 --> 01:37:00 [UNKNOWN]: We've been 70 years of thing.
01:37:00 --> 01:37:03 [UNKNOWN]: It was something net new and I like net new.
01:37:04 --> 01:37:04 [UNKNOWN]: I like a story.
01:37:04 --> 01:37:05 [UNKNOWN]: I haven't seen.
01:37:05 --> 01:37:09 [UNKNOWN]: I am using, sorry, net new as a business turbo.
01:37:09 --> 01:37:11 [UNKNOWN]: Sorry, I wasn't at new here.
01:37:13 --> 01:37:15 [UNKNOWN]: The VMAX is like nothing.
01:37:15 --> 01:37:16 [UNKNOWN]: It's not.
01:37:16 --> 01:37:17 [UNKNOWN]: It's not.
01:37:17 --> 01:37:20 [UNKNOWN]: But I don't think it's something you because it's a trope.
01:37:20 --> 01:37:21 [UNKNOWN]: It's literally a trope.
01:37:22 --> 01:37:22 [UNKNOWN]: You think?
01:37:23 --> 01:37:24 [UNKNOWN]: Like that's it.
01:37:24 --> 01:37:31 [UNKNOWN]: So, for me, I side because it just felt like there were boxed in that they had to do something like that.
01:37:32 --> 01:37:55 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, unless Sarah was contained just in that box or the artificial room, so she only thought she was in the room, fine, but I don't know, I love this final third of this movie, and I think it absolutely elevated the entire movie, and I thought it was brilliant, but I do think that the V Max, it's just
01:37:56 --> 01:38:01 [UNKNOWN]: they didn't have to go down that route at all and none of that was necessary.
01:38:01 --> 01:38:03 [UNKNOWN]: It was just how they chose to do it.
01:38:04 --> 01:38:12 [UNKNOWN]: And I do think sometimes it's a little trophy where it's like oh that symbol because it was the
01:38:13 --> 01:38:18 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know the pattern on the wallpaper or something like I get it.
01:38:18 --> 01:38:36 [UNKNOWN]: That's the trope and I just I just was like okay it's a way it's a way to do with the way it's actually on the path to getting there without it being something like she needs to find whole clues in this particular location and so it's a way that they go that path.
01:38:36 --> 01:38:58 [UNKNOWN]: I don't want to make more of it than ultimately I was like okay they've done that and it was like okay and I think it sets up a very different ending for this now because we started at the movie thinking that the bad guy was June Gray effectively when when we learned to it was she was the antagonist of the movie by the end of the movie it turns out she's being experimented on
01:38:59 --> 01:39:01 [UNKNOWN]: And how do you end that story line then?
01:39:01 --> 01:39:06 [UNKNOWN]: How do you end the story line where you started it with somebody that's trying to discover what happened to her sister?
01:39:06 --> 01:39:15 [UNKNOWN]: You learned that the sister has been experimented on until she was dead, and you were, and this character was going to be used in the same way by mascara.
01:39:16 --> 01:39:16 [UNKNOWN]: So,
01:39:17 --> 01:39:18 [UNKNOWN]: you need to deal with that.
01:39:18 --> 01:39:29 [UNKNOWN]: And the way they deal with it is by her using her powers against mess, Messker, and then it being a battle in the minds almost of Peter Parker and, uh, anterior.
01:39:29 --> 01:39:30 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
01:39:30 --> 01:39:31 [UNKNOWN]: I love that they brought this back.
01:39:31 --> 01:39:36 [UNKNOWN]: And this, uh, I'm going to use a word trope you've set for Chris use trope all the time.
01:39:36 --> 01:39:37 [UNKNOWN]: They're just storytelling methods.
01:39:38 --> 01:39:39 [UNKNOWN]: This is the trope.
01:39:39 --> 01:39:41 [UNKNOWN]: This is what you do with Jean Grey character.
01:39:41 --> 01:39:48 [UNKNOWN]: It has to be a battle in the mind to shut down her decisions to go morally gray, who's a go evil, it has to be.
01:39:49 --> 01:39:49 [UNKNOWN]: It always is.
01:39:50 --> 01:39:50 [UNKNOWN]: It's always.
01:39:51 --> 01:39:55 [UNKNOWN]: Professor X gets into a mind and comes her down or somebody gets into a mind and comes her then.
01:39:55 --> 01:40:01 [UNKNOWN]: Here having Peter use everything he learned from his beloved Aunt May to come her
01:40:03 --> 01:40:10 [UNKNOWN]: allowing his Aunt Mae version of his mind to say what she said to Peter to calm him down in the past.
01:40:10 --> 01:40:14 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's a great use of both of these characters and a bit of a trip.
01:40:14 --> 01:40:15 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
01:40:15 --> 01:40:18 [UNKNOWN]: No, that's not the trip I was talking about.
01:40:18 --> 01:40:19 [UNKNOWN]: I loved that.
01:40:20 --> 01:40:29 [UNKNOWN]: I absolutely loved the resolution of using Aunt Mae's words to Peter, repeated the bassum to
01:40:31 --> 01:40:43 [UNKNOWN]: Jean Grey, who is beside herself because she's realized what her sister went through, what predicament she is in and she believes everyone is against her.
01:40:43 --> 01:40:50 [UNKNOWN]: She is on her own and it is that notion of what Aunt May says is that when you think you're alone, you're not.
01:40:51 --> 01:40:53 [UNKNOWN]: and that's how Peter gains her trust.
01:40:53 --> 01:40:54 [UNKNOWN]: He lets it in.
01:40:54 --> 01:40:59 [UNKNOWN]: She's not been able to do it since then, so you have that whole notion of, I will let you in.
01:41:00 --> 01:41:06 [UNKNOWN]: You can read my mind and you can see that we were exactly the same and that you can trust me because,
01:41:07 --> 01:41:15 [UNKNOWN]: I've had exactly the same feelings as you around being alone, being frightened, being afraid, what's going on and it was my Aunt May.
01:41:15 --> 01:41:19 [UNKNOWN]: And I've lost her now, like you've lost your system.
01:41:19 --> 01:41:21 [UNKNOWN]: So that's to me where this coalesce is around.
01:41:22 --> 01:41:23 [UNKNOWN]: And I think...
01:41:24 --> 01:41:44 [UNKNOWN]: I'm not talking about that as a trope, but I just meant the V-max thing, and I think it is fantastically done, and it to me it just absolutely elevates this movie in terms of how that is portrayed without it, without it, absolutely, and they snuck in.
01:41:44 --> 01:41:56 [UNKNOWN]: the whole underlying message of X-Men being about homosexuality, you know, the story here about the two sisters thrown out by their mother because of the type of people that they are, which is what Sarah says to Jean.
01:41:57 --> 01:42:03 [UNKNOWN]: And the words here from Atmey going, the people who love you, love you for who you are, not for what you do.
01:42:03 --> 01:42:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, great that they're able to sneak that in underneath as well.
01:42:07 --> 01:42:17 [UNKNOWN]: And once again, give us a different version of what great power comes, great responsibility in this is that you have with that responsibility also comes the power to choose what to do next.
01:42:18 --> 01:42:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, with you having increased power, you have the responsibility to do the right thing, even in the face of adversity and even for people who don't deserve it.
01:42:29 --> 01:42:36 [UNKNOWN]: And he's telling Jean Grey to do the same is like, I'm exactly allowing you to use your power in my mind.
01:42:36 --> 01:42:37 [UNKNOWN]: So use it responsibly.
01:42:37 --> 01:42:38 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:42:38 --> 01:42:39 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:42:39 --> 01:42:40 [UNKNOWN]: I've only come to Phoenix.
01:42:41 --> 01:42:41 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
01:42:42 --> 01:42:45 [UNKNOWN]: So I loved how that that resolved.
01:42:45 --> 01:42:56 [UNKNOWN]: I do really want to quickly also just talk and shift very quickly into Spiderman and Peter Parker and the duality and the choice he makes of are who are you Peter Parker?
01:42:57 --> 01:42:57 [UNKNOWN]: Are you Spider-Man?
01:42:58 --> 01:42:58 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:42:59 --> 01:42:59 [UNKNOWN]: I am both.
01:43:00 --> 01:43:01 [UNKNOWN]: Oh.
01:43:02 --> 01:43:06 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, like that fight scene, spectacular with that.
01:43:06 --> 01:43:09 [UNKNOWN]: Like, just when you're seeing him, he might break and roll time.
01:43:09 --> 01:43:10 [UNKNOWN]: Totally, we can.
01:43:10 --> 01:43:13 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it's really cool what they, what they accomplish here.
01:43:14 --> 01:43:18 [UNKNOWN]: It must have been so interesting for the careerographers to set that up on sati.
01:43:18 --> 01:43:21 [UNKNOWN]: Cool, is it having five characters moving like one?
01:43:21 --> 01:43:22 [UNKNOWN]: It's incredible.
01:43:22 --> 01:43:29 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, running on the back of the other to get up to Spider-Man, as he is, like, spidering on the wall.
01:43:30 --> 01:43:48 [UNKNOWN]: And I enjoyed this upgrade, they did upgrades by the way, they've increased his agility, his spider sense, his web shooters, him becoming an accepting this additional piece.
01:43:48 --> 01:43:50 [UNKNOWN]: just seeing him move.
01:43:51 --> 01:43:57 [UNKNOWN]: I know they, they, she's a people go, yeah, they just basically did a matrix, neo moment.
01:43:57 --> 01:43:59 [UNKNOWN]: And I'm like, well, it's a word they did.
01:44:00 --> 01:44:01 [UNKNOWN]: And there's a reason it works.
01:44:02 --> 01:44:04 [UNKNOWN]: Like him looking slow, mobile the time.
01:44:05 --> 01:44:14 [UNKNOWN]: It just was, I've used spectacularly, I've used the amazing, I've used all the idioms that you connect to Spider-Man.
01:44:14 --> 01:44:17 [UNKNOWN]: It was, that's why I go to Spider-Man films.
01:44:18 --> 01:44:22 [UNKNOWN]: That moment where you see Peter Parker against theologues rise up.
01:44:22 --> 01:44:28 [UNKNOWN]: You see, in the very first hunk coming where he has trapped under the rubble,
01:44:29 --> 01:44:32 [UNKNOWN]: and the water is pouring and he cries and he pushes himself.
01:44:33 --> 01:44:35 [UNKNOWN]: This is that same moment.
01:44:35 --> 01:44:43 [UNKNOWN]: This is the overcoming adversity and against all odds you are able to mentally overcome and physically
01:44:47 --> 01:44:59 [UNKNOWN]: getting from that moment, open to the that gene grade professor X moment where you talked about where he has to then kind of stop gene from going that step too far.
01:44:59 --> 01:45:00 [UNKNOWN]: It has to be the big of brother.
01:45:01 --> 01:45:02 [UNKNOWN]: He has to be a father figure.
01:45:02 --> 01:45:10 [UNKNOWN]: You know, again, this version of Peter Parker came into the universe with the father figure of Ironman, the father figure of Tony Stark.
01:45:11 --> 01:45:18 [UNKNOWN]: and he's lost everything now and now he's grown, it's finally a story of Spider-Man as we said are you're on rather than Spider-Boy.
01:45:19 --> 01:45:25 [UNKNOWN]: He is now in the world and taking someone in and saying I'm here for you.
01:45:26 --> 01:45:30 [UNKNOWN]: That's a great growth of the character after all these years.
01:45:30 --> 01:45:32 [UNKNOWN]: And I think that's what they'll do.
01:45:32 --> 01:45:34 [UNKNOWN]: I think they are making him Spider-Man.
01:45:35 --> 01:45:36 [UNKNOWN]: This is his next trilogy.
01:45:37 --> 01:45:44 [UNKNOWN]: He will do two more solo films, introduce miles at the end, and then that mantle is passing.
01:45:44 --> 01:45:47 [UNKNOWN]: He is that then Iron Man figure four.
01:45:48 --> 01:45:49 [UNKNOWN]: The next generation.
01:45:50 --> 01:45:58 [UNKNOWN]: Not if the monitor has anything to do with it because Frank tried to take a match and shoot No, he tried to shoot you in gray from that base Yeah, it's a way.
01:45:58 --> 01:46:00 [UNKNOWN]: No, but he is a sniper.
01:46:00 --> 01:46:01 [UNKNOWN]: It was way better.
01:46:01 --> 01:46:03 [UNKNOWN]: But it was good Hi, countable right
01:46:03 --> 01:46:04 [UNKNOWN]: It's actually sorry.
01:46:04 --> 01:46:05 [UNKNOWN]: It has to be a kilometer.
01:46:06 --> 01:46:12 [UNKNOWN]: Doesn't it because she has taken over a kilometer to the city, he's inside the dome and he's shooting through the dome into Gene Gray.
01:46:12 --> 01:46:20 [UNKNOWN]: So and Spidey's brand new hypersensis mean he's able to maneuver her out of the way and takes the bullet himself.
01:46:23 --> 01:46:32 [UNKNOWN]: And nice, fantastic, we see, we also see the Sadie Sink why she got paid and why she is, the after she is.
01:46:32 --> 01:46:40 [UNKNOWN]: This moment where she is in with our May and then directly after kind of calm Peter helping Peter.
01:46:40 --> 01:46:46 [UNKNOWN]: I think this is really well done and then we get a moment which I never thought I
01:46:48 --> 01:46:58 [UNKNOWN]: wanted to see more, which was John Bernthold Tom Holland, as Frank Castle and Peter Parker in a hospital bed, and
01:46:59 --> 01:47:04 [UNKNOWN]: the Punisher welling up and like we did.
01:47:04 --> 01:47:06 [UNKNOWN]: He did.
01:47:06 --> 01:47:25 [UNKNOWN]: He was so good and it was just that moment of like just really seeing that I was like yeah that's that back and forth that's really well done and probably why I think this one of the the writing style of this film is potentially my
01:47:30 --> 01:47:51 [UNKNOWN]: one or two piece, maximum three kind of back and forth narrative discussions, because you have like be it like the Peter Parker and Bruce Bonner, be it MJ and that be it's Peter and that be it Peter and Gene, like it's all one-on-one, it's a very much one-on-one one-on-two.
01:47:51 --> 01:47:54 [UNKNOWN]: That's how we talk you moving in comparison with the other part of the movie.
01:47:55 --> 01:47:58 [UNKNOWN]: This is one of those moments and it's made so much money nice.
01:47:58 --> 01:48:20 [UNKNOWN]: They obviously made the right choice anyway But it's one of those moments that you go Was say Burger King rice to go will hand-a-spite Moves to eight-year-olds who are buying their their happy meals whatever that I know have mixed up loads of stuff there So I'm not gonna get sued by anybody But effectively where they're right to say this is the thing for eight-year-olds because I know the
01:48:21 --> 01:48:24 [UNKNOWN]: eight ten-year-olds that were in my audience were growing halfway through this movie.
01:48:24 --> 01:48:30 [UNKNOWN]: They were bored completely by this the least the first hour of this movie before the action kicked in.
01:48:30 --> 01:48:31 [UNKNOWN]: This is a very talking movie.
01:48:32 --> 01:48:36 [UNKNOWN]: It's a more grown-up version of Spider-Man than we've seen and it's one of those as I say.
01:48:36 --> 01:48:38 [UNKNOWN]: One of those moments where you go, should it be here?
01:48:38 --> 01:48:43 [UNKNOWN]: It's like when it's like when Batman begins was had had had stuff going on in my dolls.
01:48:44 --> 01:48:48 [UNKNOWN]: You can't, did kids really want to go and see Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy?
01:48:48 --> 01:48:49 [UNKNOWN]: Probably not.
01:48:50 --> 01:48:53 [UNKNOWN]: But comic book can also deliver great stories.
01:48:53 --> 01:48:54 [UNKNOWN]: I think this is what this does.
01:48:55 --> 01:48:59 [UNKNOWN]: But I also think it might be different things.
01:48:59 --> 01:49:01 [UNKNOWN]: But I mean, I think kids can handle a lot more.
01:49:01 --> 01:49:07 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, as I say, Jurassic Park back in the day when I went to, when I went to that,
01:49:11 --> 01:49:17 [UNKNOWN]: There were loads of young people in there who were then crying and petrified on the open scene.
01:49:17 --> 01:49:18 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:49:18 --> 01:49:20 [UNKNOWN]: Like, wasn't for, you could argue, wasn't for them.
01:49:20 --> 01:49:23 [UNKNOWN]: I think, but then they turned into...
01:49:23 --> 01:49:26 [UNKNOWN]: I think, I think they can take loads of it.
01:49:26 --> 01:49:34 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, whether it's with the scorepune, whether it's that initial action sequence around the tank, there's loads of stuff and they
01:49:39 --> 01:49:56 [UNKNOWN]: the idea of binary choices or whatever and or you know the the abilities of the more than one thing and although just a quick story about that when we've self-enjoyed what to see at the second time there was a kid behind us who must have been about six years old his first time seeing the movie as well was with his mom but
01:49:57 --> 01:50:11 [UNKNOWN]: when the old woman is in the tank, and the tank is opened when the old woman's in there, the six-row behind us went, that's Jean Grey pretending to be somebody else, because he's obviously read it on the internet, or seen it on YouTube video.
01:50:11 --> 01:50:13 [UNKNOWN]: So, like, God, I hope John didn't hear that, because that spoiled the hell.
01:50:14 --> 01:50:30 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, reveal that you're on the movie, for anyway, but anyway, we do get a great Spider-Man moment where Peter Parker John turned around and smacked the key to the signal actually I didn't hear him so I was like blissfully on the way
01:50:31 --> 01:50:39 [UNKNOWN]: Well, this tragedy, but we do get a great spider band moment when Peter Market goes outside to see the whole city as rally behind him.
01:50:39 --> 01:50:42 [UNKNOWN]: He gets to see the adulation that his heroine has done.
01:50:42 --> 01:50:47 [UNKNOWN]: So he again feels like he's not alone in the city full of millions of people who are there.
01:50:47 --> 01:50:49 [UNKNOWN]: It's a rally around him and and help him out.
01:50:49 --> 01:50:55 [UNKNOWN]: And we got a great friend Castle moment who is pretending to be Peter Parker with Spider-Man with Spider-Man, with Spider-Man
01:51:01 --> 01:51:04 [UNKNOWN]: And he's protected to be smart man, which is great for him.
01:51:04 --> 01:51:06 [UNKNOWN]: I thought that was funny.
01:51:06 --> 01:51:08 [UNKNOWN]: And then look to wrap this all up.
01:51:09 --> 01:51:16 [UNKNOWN]: MJ and Peter and Ned share a moment before the finale finale.
01:51:16 --> 01:51:23 [UNKNOWN]: So we do get this lovely image and drawing of Peter with his mask off.
01:51:24 --> 01:51:26 [UNKNOWN]: And Ned building Legos.
01:51:26 --> 01:51:28 [UNKNOWN]: That is drawn by MJ.
01:51:28 --> 01:51:37 [UNKNOWN]: a quick easter egg that was actually John by Tom Holland's brother as a nice piece, just those fun fun easter egg there.
01:51:37 --> 01:51:48 [UNKNOWN]: So then there is the kind of final final final pieces where we are, there is Nid and Peter and where we leave off with the rest of the characters.
01:51:48 --> 01:51:50 [UNKNOWN]: So let's try and jump in kind of close that off.
01:51:51 --> 01:51:54 [UNKNOWN]: Punisher is out punching again.
01:51:54 --> 01:51:56 [UNKNOWN]: He is these the hospital.
01:51:57 --> 01:52:11 [UNKNOWN]: Peter is out being taking his time to recuperate and letting Dolf and the cops handle what they can handle and he does know the names of
01:52:15 --> 01:52:16 [UNKNOWN]: Um, I like that as well.
01:52:16 --> 01:52:18 [UNKNOWN]: Like he said at the start, he's just a volunteer.
01:52:18 --> 01:52:24 [UNKNOWN]: The police take care of all the actual police work He just helps out when he needs to help out like when a tank is going through the city.
01:52:24 --> 01:52:28 [UNKNOWN]: He's very strong so he can stop that Yeah, you don't need to bring the army down to do that.
01:52:28 --> 01:52:29 [UNKNOWN]: Spidey can do that.
01:52:29 --> 01:52:29 [UNKNOWN]: That's cool
01:52:30 --> 01:52:36 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, I love that he takes a bit of time out, MJ asked him to come in and spend some time with Ned.
01:52:36 --> 01:52:42 [UNKNOWN]: And then she says to him, you know, you guys do look like best friends, you know, which is really good.
01:52:42 --> 01:52:48 [UNKNOWN]: You know, even though in her moment beforehand, she has seen the note that Peter was going to deliver to her.
01:52:50 --> 01:52:52 [UNKNOWN]: and she says, I don't have any memories of you.
01:52:52 --> 01:52:53 [UNKNOWN]: I know all these things may have happened.
01:52:53 --> 01:52:59 [UNKNOWN]: I can see why this girl loved you, but I don't love you because I don't know you at all.
01:52:59 --> 01:53:01 [UNKNOWN]: Which is an interesting moment.
01:53:01 --> 01:53:09 [UNKNOWN]: But in the final kind of montage, we do see that MJ is back on the roof of the school and she's playing with the necklaces.
01:53:10 --> 01:53:13 [UNKNOWN]: Peter Parker gave her when they were younger.
01:53:14 --> 01:53:20 [UNKNOWN]: And we see the excellent final moment with Peter meeting Ned in the Bodega.
01:53:20 --> 01:53:25 [UNKNOWN]: And Peter decides to introduce himself properly to Ned as Peter.
01:53:25 --> 01:53:30 [UNKNOWN]: And they do their famous handshake, which they used to be able to do without even looking at each other.
01:53:31 --> 01:53:39 [UNKNOWN]: Ned is instantly able to do it and then says Peter, so why is this and what's happened here?
01:53:39 --> 01:53:41 [UNKNOWN]: I love the speculation about this.
01:53:41 --> 01:53:48 [UNKNOWN]: There's one that Ned potentially because he had some magic Paris back at the end of the last spite of our movie.
01:53:48 --> 01:53:59 [UNKNOWN]: He was on his way to Camretage, at least he thought he had the magic Paris that potentially he had a little break through in Dr. Stranger Spell, maybe that's one of the reasons why.
01:54:00 --> 01:54:20 [UNKNOWN]: But the other one is that because they were inside that one kilometer of control from Jean Grey that she like she did with Hulk, broke Dan, a little barrier inside their brains, so they now recognize Peter slightly, it started to come back to them that she broke that barrier, so maybe everybody inside that one kilometer range.
01:54:21 --> 01:54:24 [UNKNOWN]: would know who Peter Parker is if they knew him beforehand.
01:54:24 --> 01:54:26 [UNKNOWN]: But these two did know him beforehand.
01:54:26 --> 01:54:28 [UNKNOWN]: So that's why they're able to maybe see through that.
01:54:29 --> 01:54:33 [UNKNOWN]: That's why MJ is going back to the roof of the school where they spent so much time together.
01:54:33 --> 01:54:36 [UNKNOWN]: That's why she is looking at that ring.
01:54:36 --> 01:54:36 [UNKNOWN]: That's around her neck.
01:54:36 --> 01:54:38 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe she does have some memories.
01:54:38 --> 01:54:40 [UNKNOWN]: Okay, thanks to probably play out in the future movies.
01:54:41 --> 01:54:46 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, why she was crying when they're being held in that force field.
01:54:47 --> 01:54:48 [UNKNOWN]: Why do you have a single tear?
01:54:48 --> 01:54:50 [UNKNOWN]: Because there are memories coming back.
01:54:51 --> 01:54:52 [UNKNOWN]: I do like that theory.
01:54:52 --> 01:55:04 [UNKNOWN]: And I personally think that that's a fun kind of way to bring, to kind of bring it back, but recognize everything that's been done, and everything that's been there for the whole period.
01:55:06 --> 01:55:14 [UNKNOWN]: And not just literally do a spell to bring it all back, if you know what I mean.
01:55:15 --> 01:55:21 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly, and I got the fact that they've literally referenced it, she can't just be kissed, and then remember everything about Peter.
01:55:21 --> 01:55:24 [UNKNOWN]: So I love that there's some little explanations that are in there.
01:55:24 --> 01:55:26 [UNKNOWN]: Some little seeds that they've sewn in again.
01:55:26 --> 01:55:28 [UNKNOWN]: These are the same writers that wrote the last three movies.
01:55:28 --> 01:55:33 [UNKNOWN]: So they've probably set up a few things, helping that they'll get a little movie to expand upon them.
01:55:33 --> 01:55:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:55:35 --> 01:55:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, no.
01:55:36 --> 01:55:38 [UNKNOWN]: It's absolutely fantastic.
01:55:38 --> 01:55:39 [UNKNOWN]: Should we quickly talk about the postgraduate?
01:55:40 --> 01:55:40 [UNKNOWN]: Yes, absolutely.
01:55:40 --> 01:55:41 [UNKNOWN]: So the postgraduate?
01:55:42 --> 01:55:42 [UNKNOWN]: Interesting.
01:55:43 --> 01:55:44 [UNKNOWN]: I was expecting more.
01:55:45 --> 01:55:47 [UNKNOWN]: I was expecting an end and a post.
01:55:48 --> 01:55:49 [UNKNOWN]: Right.
01:55:49 --> 01:55:52 [UNKNOWN]: Everybody wanted something to lead into, it needed to doomsday rush.
01:55:52 --> 01:55:53 [UNKNOWN]: That was kind of the thing.
01:55:53 --> 01:55:54 [UNKNOWN]: I don't even know if I wanted that.
01:55:54 --> 01:55:56 [UNKNOWN]: I wanted more
01:55:58 --> 01:55:59 [UNKNOWN]: just Spider-Man.
01:55:59 --> 01:56:05 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think that's what I wanted, so I was hoping for another scene with Tombstone.
01:56:05 --> 01:56:20 [UNKNOWN]: I was hoping for something like with the Rhino or something silly, like the black tarantula, like just another comic book still or two of him just kind of doing covers.
01:56:24 --> 01:56:36 [UNKNOWN]: and it is trying to find Spider-Man and it's Spider-Man not found and then it finds Spider-Man it's zoomed out and out and out and out and out and out and it is in space.
01:56:37 --> 01:56:38 [UNKNOWN]: Very much a doomsday
01:56:39 --> 01:57:05 [UNKNOWN]: reference actually probably closer it is secret wars and battle world reference but we'll have to waste and see for absolute confirmation because he could be not in he may be on a spacecraft in dimjde with the fantastic war or one of those guys and that's why he's in space but I think it's
01:57:07 --> 01:57:17 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think the way the tracking app indicates that Spider-Man's no longer into your can't be fan of the U.S. isn't on earth, and then he does reappear in space.
01:57:17 --> 01:57:20 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's that is for secret wars.
01:57:20 --> 01:57:21 [UNKNOWN]: I think he's just disappeared.
01:57:21 --> 01:57:27 [UNKNOWN]: He's been plucked from earth and ended off in some region of space, which is exactly what happened to the original secret wars.
01:57:28 --> 01:57:29 [UNKNOWN]: Probably the biggest
01:57:30 --> 01:57:47 [UNKNOWN]: comic book for Spider-Man back then and the editing was the biggest character he has self with his black suits from from Super Wars so um it's massive for the character of Spider-Man to be in that I don't think Spider-Man's going to be in Doomstay this year um I think they're going to skip over me is he is small potatoes he's dealing with
01:57:48 --> 01:57:52 [UNKNOWN]: The return of his friends potentially, he's dealing with the smaller things that are happening.
01:57:53 --> 01:57:59 [UNKNOWN]: I think we're going to be skipping Spider-Man this year and here you're seeing him again next year in Secret Wars.
01:57:59 --> 01:58:01 [UNKNOWN]: That's why that's my theory.
01:58:01 --> 01:58:06 [UNKNOWN]: Especially because this was supposed to be after Doom's Day and as it swapped places where this was there.
01:58:07 --> 01:58:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I think he may be in it and I think it might just be a small cameo scene, I think that's the closest we will catch in that, but he will play a big, big part in secret wars.
01:58:19 --> 01:58:19 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:20 --> 01:58:20 [UNKNOWN]: I'm with you on that.
01:58:21 --> 01:58:21 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:58:22 --> 01:58:30 [UNKNOWN]: a few tiny Easter eggs, tiny little notes before we close out, this is just, that's all right.
01:58:30 --> 01:58:36 [UNKNOWN]: One that I really sad about, just because it's us and we're the Defendish TV podcast.
01:58:36 --> 01:58:37 [UNKNOWN]: That's our marble coverage.
01:58:37 --> 01:58:47 [UNKNOWN]: We've started covering the Netflix shows and one of the major characters in those shows was Night Nurse played by Rosario Dawson and she did have a scene filmed in this movie.
01:58:47 --> 01:58:51 [UNKNOWN]: The scene was where Peter Parker was being treated in hospital.
01:58:52 --> 01:58:55 [UNKNOWN]: Nobody's supposed to know the secret identity of Spider-Man, so who do you call?
01:58:55 --> 01:59:01 [UNKNOWN]: You call the night nurse who will keep his secret identity secret and she was supposed to be taken care of in hospital.
01:59:01 --> 01:59:06 [UNKNOWN]: That is why he's wearing the Metro General Hospital, outfit when he's leaving the hospital.
01:59:08 --> 01:59:13 [UNKNOWN]: I think even in dialogue, it says he's in a different hospital in New York that the news reporter says he's in different hospitals.
01:59:13 --> 01:59:17 [UNKNOWN]: So he specifically, wearing the Metro Central Life, it because nightmares are supposed to be in the scene.
01:59:17 --> 01:59:19 [UNKNOWN]: So that would have made so much sense.
01:59:19 --> 01:59:27 [UNKNOWN]: Wouldn't it start out at the movie that nobody knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man, you end off the movie that loads of people in the hospital will have seen Spider-Man without his mask on.
01:59:28 --> 01:59:29 [UNKNOWN]: They'll probably keep the secret as well.
01:59:29 --> 01:59:34 [UNKNOWN]: The guess that's what people are gambling on because back in Spider-Man too, everybody
01:59:35 --> 01:59:37 [UNKNOWN]: Peter Parker with a mask off on the train, right?
01:59:37 --> 01:59:40 [UNKNOWN]: But New Yorkers keep secrets, so they kept all that secret, right?
01:59:41 --> 01:59:45 [UNKNOWN]: So there's that too, at least, probably nobody will tell that Peter Parker's by the way.
01:59:45 --> 01:59:51 [UNKNOWN]: But I do like that they did have Masaria Dawson film a scene, and she's very sorry to spend caution.
01:59:52 --> 01:59:52 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, got it.
01:59:55 --> 02:00:06 [UNKNOWN]: Lots of speculation that the kid X had the hospital who says who acknowledges Peter and the whip sat him from the shoulders of his gardener parrot is potentially mild smiles.
02:00:06 --> 02:00:15 [UNKNOWN]: That's the first appearance of mild smiles, but they've said that since young kids have been in every movie, they've said that, but I think in this stage the joke about
02:00:16 --> 02:00:28 [UNKNOWN]: Peter Parker being the kid that said hi to Iron Man in the first Iron Man movie and then eventually became Peter Parker that's why they're saying this But the other theory that I really liked as well is that that could be Jean Gray saying goodbye to him.
02:00:28 --> 02:00:36 [UNKNOWN]: She possessed this child even though she says she doesn't possess children See jumped into this child just to say goodbye to Peter and then disappeared
02:00:36 --> 02:00:37 [UNKNOWN]: or a computer.
02:00:37 --> 02:00:41 [UNKNOWN]: I hope it's not that one.
02:00:42 --> 02:00:59 [UNKNOWN]: I do like when Jean is going, that nod is that she is going to upper new station in New York, Westchester, so she's going to the expansion, but I do love the Kevin Faye, he's already come out to say, yes, she's on a bus, she could be going to
02:01:06 --> 02:01:07 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
02:01:07 --> 02:01:15 [UNKNOWN]: Actually, last one for me then is the woman in the apartment with the blonde hair, the Peter's ignoring because he's just in his whole feelings about being Spider-Man.
02:01:16 --> 02:01:24 [UNKNOWN]: And two possibilities for this is that are not to the neighbor from Spider-Man 2, the one that makes the makes the biscuits and cake for Peter Ursula, I think she was.
02:01:24 --> 02:01:26 [UNKNOWN]: Spider-Man 2 or is it maybe Gwen Stacey?
02:01:28 --> 02:01:28 [UNKNOWN]: It's Ursula.
02:01:28 --> 02:01:32 [UNKNOWN]: It's not to, the, the, it has to be the neighbor.
02:01:32 --> 02:01:35 [UNKNOWN]: Um, because I think Gwen says you will come back.
02:01:35 --> 02:01:42 [UNKNOWN]: I think they will do Gwen says in the future, but they will be too bigger stars than that person.
02:01:42 --> 02:01:43 [UNKNOWN]: There you go.
02:01:43 --> 02:01:43 [UNKNOWN]: It's not.
02:01:44 --> 02:01:44 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, big big stuff.
02:01:45 --> 02:01:53 [UNKNOWN]: You never know, by the way, between now and the five years going to take for another Spider-Man movie, maybe she'll go to a huge role in the future project.
02:01:55 --> 02:01:57 [UNKNOWN]: There you go, they just knew it was coming.
02:01:58 --> 02:02:00 [UNKNOWN]: I think that's it, any other notes?
02:02:01 --> 02:02:03 [UNKNOWN]: Nothing from me, nothing from me.
02:02:03 --> 02:02:03 [UNKNOWN]: Fantastic.
02:02:03 --> 02:02:06 [UNKNOWN]: Well, Chris, do you defend Spider-Man brand new day?
02:02:07 --> 02:02:08 [UNKNOWN]: strangely.
02:02:08 --> 02:02:09 [UNKNOWN]: It's very weird, yes.
02:02:10 --> 02:02:11 [UNKNOWN]: Strange for me.
02:02:11 --> 02:02:12 [UNKNOWN]: No, look, of course.
02:02:12 --> 02:02:16 [UNKNOWN]: I've used the word sensational amazing spectacular.
02:02:16 --> 02:02:21 [UNKNOWN]: This actually is one of my favorite.
02:02:21 --> 02:02:22 [UNKNOWN]: It is my favorite
02:02:30 --> 02:02:37 [UNKNOWN]: Um, it's up there now with, it's definitely up there now in my favorite Spider-Man property films.
02:02:38 --> 02:02:48 [UNKNOWN]: Um, it very much is the Spider-Man I grew up with in that he was down on this lock, he's at a college or out of school.
02:02:49 --> 02:02:53 [UNKNOWN]: He is in the apartment that's like this age group kind of aged.
02:02:55 --> 02:02:59 [UNKNOWN]: small potatoes, kind of storyline, granted, storylines.
02:02:59 --> 02:03:02 [UNKNOWN]: And I think this is some of the best writing.
02:03:02 --> 02:03:13 [UNKNOWN]: I think, I think McKenna and Summers, the two writers, have now found the voice of Spider-Man.
02:03:13 --> 02:03:13 [UNKNOWN]: Oh, yeah.
02:03:14 --> 02:03:18 [UNKNOWN]: And I write what they should be and how they should say and and what the best way
02:03:22 --> 02:03:26 [UNKNOWN]: I think then Tom Holland knows who this character is.
02:03:26 --> 02:03:31 [UNKNOWN]: He was apparently heavy the involved in the writing of this one as well.
02:03:32 --> 02:03:38 [UNKNOWN]: I think they found a really good director who knows how to do some of this and he was right to take over.
02:03:41 --> 02:03:43 [UNKNOWN]: I'm glad he took over from John Watts.
02:03:43 --> 02:03:50 [UNKNOWN]: I love John Watts once, but this just there was an elevation almost here that I think are just slightly different.
02:03:50 --> 02:03:54 [UNKNOWN]: So yes, completely different, Spider-Man brand new day.
02:03:56 --> 02:03:59 [UNKNOWN]: Fantastic, John, the U-Defend, Spider-Man brand new day.
02:03:59 --> 02:04:00 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
02:04:00 --> 02:04:03 [UNKNOWN]: I do defend Spider-Man brand new day.
02:04:03 --> 02:04:08 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I'd give it four and a half Spidey crop tops out of five.
02:04:09 --> 02:04:10 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, my top.
02:04:13 --> 02:04:14 [UNKNOWN]: I I just think it's really good.
02:04:14 --> 02:04:17 [UNKNOWN]: I mean, I think the final third of this really
02:04:18 --> 02:04:22 [UNKNOWN]: pays off it and brings together the other two.
02:04:23 --> 02:04:24 [UNKNOWN]: It really does.
02:04:24 --> 02:04:30 [UNKNOWN]: I love the fact that you have the intrigue around who is this person controlling people.
02:04:32 --> 02:04:36 [UNKNOWN]: I guess some people could have immediately guessed Jean Drake.
02:04:36 --> 02:04:40 [UNKNOWN]: I didn't, so for me this was brilliant all the way through who is it.
02:04:48 --> 02:04:58 [UNKNOWN]: how or if Ned and MJ would remember Peter and I loved that whole treatment.
02:04:58 --> 02:05:06 [UNKNOWN]: I loved how it got circumvented with the notion that MJ has remembered, but it isn't.
02:05:06 --> 02:05:07 [UNKNOWN]: It was Gene Gray.
02:05:08 --> 02:05:08 [UNKNOWN]: I loved
02:05:18 --> 02:05:44 [UNKNOWN]: person here that was up against Spidey and throwing the Hulk in the Asim as well and the Punisher I thought the treatment of him here was great and dare I say it better than actually John Bernthals treatment of him and just a few months earlier it was a picture and it was but like it doesn't need to because we don't have one demand because of that paycheck.
02:05:45 --> 02:06:00 [UNKNOWN]: And I love the speculation from Punisher fans, apparently the ones that don't like that he's been PGI-ified PGI-ified And is that the dump her and thought wouldn't possibly go in and make this movie until he was allowed to make his version of Punisher was the reason why No, he just wants to the paycheck
02:06:00 --> 02:06:03 [UNKNOWN]: Marvel willing to give him a paycheck so that they will hit appear this.
02:06:03 --> 02:06:04 [UNKNOWN]: That's fine.
02:06:05 --> 02:06:10 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, so I mean for me this works really, really well and I absolutely love this.
02:06:11 --> 02:06:17 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, really up the I think as Chris said, I think I wouldn't necessarily say I would
02:06:18 --> 02:06:31 [UNKNOWN]: I think it is better, but it almost feels slightly a bit like Harry Potter, not quite as bad as that, but you can see the evolution of this franchise on the Sony.
02:06:34 --> 02:06:39 [UNKNOWN]: with, you know, at least consulting the mothership with marvellous studios.
02:06:40 --> 02:06:42 [UNKNOWN]: But I think you see the evolution of that.
02:06:42 --> 02:06:46 [UNKNOWN]: I think it's important then that you've got this consistency in the writing.
02:06:46 --> 02:06:46 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:06:47 --> 02:06:52 [UNKNOWN]: And this has just made me love Justin Daniel Crescent even more as a director.
02:06:52 --> 02:06:53 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:06:53 --> 02:06:55 [UNKNOWN]: Tom Holland is great in this.
02:06:55 --> 02:06:59 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, for me, four and a half spider crop tops out of five
02:07:00 --> 02:07:05 [UNKNOWN]: And Derek, do you defend this movie Spider-Man brand new day?
02:07:06 --> 02:07:07 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely, yeah.
02:07:07 --> 02:07:10 [UNKNOWN]: Totally defend 3 for 3 for us, 3 for 3 for Descent Hangout Cretten.
02:07:11 --> 02:07:12 [UNKNOWN]: I can't wait to see what he does next.
02:07:12 --> 02:07:13 [UNKNOWN]: He made one of my favorites.
02:07:14 --> 02:07:19 [UNKNOWN]: Marvel movies beforehand, which, long she, now he's back with Spider-Man, making one of my favorites, Spider-Man movies.
02:07:19 --> 02:07:21 [UNKNOWN]: And made Wonder-Man, which was brilliant.
02:07:21 --> 02:07:22 [UNKNOWN]: I would love to see.
02:07:22 --> 02:07:39 [UNKNOWN]: how he continued that we're going to want to do that's not going to happen but we're going to see John C2 which at least he's got that and that's going to be really exciting to see and the best thing because you're going to talk about everything else in your in your sum up of the best thing about this movie making over a billion dollars and just four days
02:07:40 --> 02:07:47 [UNKNOWN]: is that Sony have confirmed there are no plans to make any more Spider-Verse live action movies.
02:07:47 --> 02:07:55 [UNKNOWN]: There are no plans to make any sequels to the already terrible Spider-Verse movies, but they will have Spider-Man back.
02:07:55 --> 02:07:56 [UNKNOWN]: We will have Tom Holland back.
02:07:57 --> 02:07:57 [UNKNOWN]: outspite around in the future.
02:07:57 --> 02:08:04 [UNKNOWN]: They've realized they're mistaken making more be a said making modern web and making the venom movies all those terrible terrible movies.
02:08:04 --> 02:08:07 [UNKNOWN]: So at least that's one brilliant saving grace.
02:08:08 --> 02:08:12 [UNKNOWN]: They know there's another billion dollars on another at Tom Holland Spiderman movie the future.
02:08:12 --> 02:08:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yes.
02:08:12 --> 02:08:17 [UNKNOWN]: Well it's unsanely for finally realizing that after all these years you can't make comic book movies you're terrible at them.
02:08:19 --> 02:08:20 [UNKNOWN]: Oh they can, they clearly can.
02:08:20 --> 02:08:24 [UNKNOWN]: I mean I think I agree with you but I do think
02:08:27 --> 02:08:31 [UNKNOWN]: on par here, they just didn't make the right creative decisions.
02:08:31 --> 02:08:37 [UNKNOWN]: So that's what I mean, I think they're realizing they can't make the right creative decisions with a little bit of help and guidance from Marvel Studios.
02:08:37 --> 02:08:40 [UNKNOWN]: That's what the big realization has been this week.
02:08:40 --> 02:08:44 [UNKNOWN]: Hang on a second, we've been throwing money at properties that were not given the correct guidance.
02:08:44 --> 02:08:49 [UNKNOWN]: And we were not given the correct overview of, and they were not making money.
02:08:49 --> 02:08:51 [UNKNOWN]: So we're going to stop production on all of those things.
02:08:51 --> 02:08:52 [UNKNOWN]: So, yes.
02:08:53 --> 02:08:53 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks.
02:08:54 --> 02:08:59 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you so much for joining us for our overall chat, a base Spiderman brand new day.
02:08:59 --> 02:09:02 [UNKNOWN]: We do have some feedback in from our wonderful fellow defenders as well.
02:09:02 --> 02:09:05 [UNKNOWN]: First up, we got a message in from mathematician over a Facebook.
02:09:05 --> 02:09:09 [UNKNOWN]: He says, Loved is Loved is Loved is a couple of things I didn't love so much first.
02:09:09 --> 02:09:14 [UNKNOWN]: Not sure using out May to give them motivational speech to bring Gene back to Earth with the right choice.
02:09:14 --> 02:09:16 [UNKNOWN]: I would have prepared MJ or even Frank to do us.
02:09:17 --> 02:09:28 [UNKNOWN]: Second, maybe as I was with the primary school aged kids, and would have appreciated more if I could sense them getting a little bored, but the movie had a fabulous third act, and it came to a successful end for Spidey.
02:09:28 --> 02:09:44 [UNKNOWN]: But it then felt like it had a fourth act, which flashback to show you a bit of an origin for Jean Grey, and what I'm to assist her, the kids started to switch off at that point, thinking it was about to end with a surprisingly helps in team-up of Frank and Peter, seeing off the danger of a 2015 strength level hook who retired as a mind control villain.
02:09:44 --> 02:09:49 [UNKNOWN]: but it still has at least half an hour to go at that point, last action filled with more backstory.
02:09:49 --> 02:10:01 [UNKNOWN]: But back to the good stuff from the movie, Parker had best hope that damage control or vowed don't get their hands on his inhibitor tech, imagine sentry being 100% under the control of Valentina's OXE.
02:10:02 --> 02:10:07 [UNKNOWN]: The first two hours were amazing with a really funny cameo cameo from Lilina, the fabulous and dare.
02:10:07 --> 02:10:12 [UNKNOWN]: is a highly rate of actress, but still underrated in my opinion, drama comedy The Lost.
02:10:12 --> 02:10:21 [UNKNOWN]: She has taken Ned's role as primary sidekick, but that's sad because she is so engaging in the role her and Holland have a chemistry that shows how much they get along and their real lives together.
02:10:21 --> 02:10:23 [UNKNOWN]: I think my nine-year-old has his first crush.
02:10:24 --> 02:10:33 [UNKNOWN]: The publisher had to be dumbed down for the film, yes, but they even showed her where they were by having Spidey web his mates shot, as he was a bait to curse, brought a big laugh out of the adults in the audience.
02:10:37 --> 02:10:39 [UNKNOWN]: but all the action was top notch.
02:10:39 --> 02:10:41 [UNKNOWN]: I agree with Derek I bet it being smaller but also bigger.
02:10:41 --> 02:10:47 [UNKNOWN]: I watched it 3D and would recommend it as there's plenty of action scenes that are enhanced by feeling in the middle of it all.
02:10:48 --> 02:10:50 [UNKNOWN]: Great return for the MCU, waiting too long for this.
02:10:50 --> 02:10:54 [UNKNOWN]: On to Doom's day in December, via first finding out what vision has been up to.
02:10:55 --> 02:11:02 [UNKNOWN]: 4.5 slices of little seasers, a weapon-only pizza out of 5 for me, boss, worthy of any MCU phase.
02:11:04 --> 02:11:05 [UNKNOWN]: Excellent mathematician.
02:11:05 --> 02:11:11 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you so much mathematician and yes, I am so the little Caesars Webberoni pizza.
02:11:11 --> 02:11:30 [UNKNOWN]: We don't have it over here in Ireland, but they it was a bit of obvious product placement because all the pizzas were with little Caesars and they was a Spider-Man box for the Webberoni pizza, obviously because little Caesars in the MCU's do also sponsor and have Webberoni pizza.
02:11:30 --> 02:11:31 [UNKNOWN]: Of course.
02:11:32 --> 02:11:37 [UNKNOWN]: I do love the job that's been going around, would any actual New Yorker eat little season with pizza?
02:11:38 --> 02:11:45 [UNKNOWN]: Well, it's one of the best places I've ever eaten with pizza, would you eat little seasons if you had access to that by amazing pizza restaurants in New York?
02:11:45 --> 02:11:46 [UNKNOWN]: Absolutely.
02:11:46 --> 02:11:54 [UNKNOWN]: And I think mathematician to maybe partially answer your question about bringing Jean back down to earth.
02:11:54 --> 02:11:56 [UNKNOWN]: Well, I think Frank did try.
02:11:56 --> 02:11:58 [UNKNOWN]: It was just with a massive sniper ride.
02:11:58 --> 02:12:01 [UNKNOWN]: The Bullock of course, we don't rather than talkie-talkie.
02:12:01 --> 02:12:01 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:12:01 --> 02:12:09 [UNKNOWN]: Which is kind of in Frank's will house, so I think he tried, but he was prevented by Spider-Man.
02:12:09 --> 02:12:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:12:10 --> 02:12:10 [UNKNOWN]: But great stuff.
02:12:10 --> 02:12:11 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks, mathematician.
02:12:12 --> 02:12:17 [UNKNOWN]: We also got some feedback from Russell Hooper who said, I just watched it very good.
02:12:18 --> 02:12:19 [UNKNOWN]: And then he took me at it.
02:12:19 --> 02:12:22 [UNKNOWN]: That Wolverine Cameo was unexpected.
02:12:23 --> 02:12:23 [UNKNOWN]: Well done.
02:12:24 --> 02:12:25 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I've seen a lot of people do that.
02:12:25 --> 02:12:32 [UNKNOWN]: So like the first 24 hours, the amount of Cameo that weren't actual Cameo is nice and pop-up work.
02:12:33 --> 02:12:33 [UNKNOWN]: We're fun.
02:12:35 --> 02:12:36 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, it was fun.
02:12:37 --> 02:12:44 [UNKNOWN]: But I know the moving camera you're thinking of Russell is on ps5 and next month there you go.
02:12:44 --> 02:12:50 [UNKNOWN]: And we also have some feedback from Salim Ikizler who said, I may miss something.
02:12:50 --> 02:12:52 [UNKNOWN]: What happened to smart Hulk?
02:12:52 --> 02:12:54 [UNKNOWN]: Why does he need an inhibitor?
02:12:55 --> 02:12:58 [UNKNOWN]: Um, this, you didn't miss anything.
02:12:58 --> 02:13:01 [UNKNOWN]: This, uh, don't think they fully explained.
02:13:01 --> 02:13:04 [UNKNOWN]: I think it might be explained that it didn't one of the novelizations or something.
02:13:04 --> 02:13:12 [UNKNOWN]: I heard that essentially, um, he wants, he wants to be Bruce Bondering and not Sparkle.
02:13:12 --> 02:13:12 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:13:13 --> 02:13:14 [UNKNOWN]: And he, he, he's a
02:13:22 --> 02:13:31 [UNKNOWN]: complex, and so he can just be that professor, but I think that's what I've heard.
02:13:32 --> 02:13:37 [UNKNOWN]: I think he's just jealous of his cousin who can control whether she's she'll crush.
02:13:37 --> 02:13:41 [UNKNOWN]: He's like, okay, I guess I'll use science to control that I will not be hooked.
02:13:42 --> 02:13:46 [UNKNOWN]: Because it's always been the story of Bruce Banner that he wants to get rid of the Hulk.
02:13:46 --> 02:13:50 [UNKNOWN]: That's always been there in the MCU because he has not a movie and can't have his own
02:13:51 --> 02:14:04 [UNKNOWN]: That has kind of gone away, just as the whole coin needs to be the whole coin, and then you need to use them, but yeah, I think that backstory of him wanted to get rid of the whole coin so for all, and he's finally found a scientific way to do it, it makes a lot of sense in this movie.
02:14:04 --> 02:14:06 [UNKNOWN]: So, yeah, great stuff.
02:14:06 --> 02:14:07 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks, Liam.
02:14:07 --> 02:14:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, thanks, Liam.
02:14:09 --> 02:14:14 [UNKNOWN]: We got an email through from Coffin Vodgosa's Greetings Fellow in Hippitude Defenders.
02:14:14 --> 02:14:15 [UNKNOWN]: Welcome home.
02:14:16 --> 02:14:18 [UNKNOWN]: Give it a day to lose the new movie sent.
02:14:18 --> 02:14:22 [UNKNOWN]: A lot of good Pete, MJ and Ned situation was handled very well.
02:14:23 --> 02:14:31 [UNKNOWN]: It made perfect sense for her to Gamora, Peter, and the ending remit and handshake greets was promisingly sweet.
02:14:32 --> 02:14:32 [UNKNOWN]: All
02:14:35 --> 02:14:42 [UNKNOWN]: attitudes to effects, the addition of Captain DeWolf is a nice easter egg and Jean Grey are foreshadowing gift.
02:14:43 --> 02:14:52 [UNKNOWN]: Banners roll while necessary for the whole inhibitor's subplot was a bit unsatisfying, but the only really negative aspect of the film was the publisher.
02:14:52 --> 02:15:00 [UNKNOWN]: It turns out PG public pleasing Punisher is even less palatable than one last kill's self-pitting Punisher.
02:15:01 --> 02:15:02 [UNKNOWN]: and like Dr.
02:15:02 --> 02:15:09 [UNKNOWN]: Strange before him, he was only there to shoehorn in plot points, all told however, a decent summer blockbuster.
02:15:09 --> 02:15:19 [UNKNOWN]: Three and a half ropey wrist holes dropped x's rapidly reference roads and hot neighbor callbacks out of five.
02:15:19 --> 02:15:21 [UNKNOWN]: Peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
02:15:21 --> 02:15:23 [UNKNOWN]: Fantastic.
02:15:23 --> 02:15:30 [UNKNOWN]: I do know that our our take on the Punisher, at least my own John's take on the Punisher one last kill is very different to a lot of other people's take on it.
02:15:30 --> 02:15:36 [UNKNOWN]: So yeah, I think we're probably on opposite sides of a whether Brent thought was better here or better in one last kill.
02:15:37 --> 02:15:46 [UNKNOWN]: It's yeah, well, yes certainly and but I also think coffee and vodka probably didn't like him there either Probably yes, but even less.
02:15:46 --> 02:15:54 [UNKNOWN]: It was this was even less power So it's really down there was we felt it nudged off again Just because it
02:15:56 --> 02:15:58 [UNKNOWN]: I just like seeing Jumber and Thal smile occasionally.
02:15:58 --> 02:15:59 [UNKNOWN]: That's all.
02:15:59 --> 02:16:00 [UNKNOWN]: He's a very grumpy actor.
02:16:01 --> 02:16:04 [UNKNOWN]: He's given lots of grumpy characters, so I like to see it smile again.
02:16:05 --> 02:16:05 [UNKNOWN]: Great stuff.
02:16:05 --> 02:16:07 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks, Coffee Vodka.
02:16:07 --> 02:16:16 [UNKNOWN]: Finally, we have an email in from Paolo who says, hi guys, I watched the movie earlier today, thoroughly enjoyed it, and a lot of fan pleasing stuff overall, but not as many surprises as I thought.
02:16:16 --> 02:16:17 [UNKNOWN]: I love the Paraboo storyline.
02:16:18 --> 02:16:22 [UNKNOWN]: Although I wonder if they will pick up the dampener technology for the down the line here or elsewhere.
02:16:22 --> 02:16:27 [UNKNOWN]: Well, as this punishment is supposed to be the same as the Netflix one, and I thought a lot more like a kid friendly version.
02:16:27 --> 02:16:30 [UNKNOWN]: If you know what I mean, the Gene Grey introduction was okay, I guess.
02:16:30 --> 02:16:33 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if this origin story matches anything published though.
02:16:33 --> 02:16:35 [UNKNOWN]: I haven't read much of the comics in the last 20 years.
02:16:36 --> 02:16:39 [UNKNOWN]: The last scene made me shed a tear a great way to end the movie.
02:16:39 --> 02:16:42 [UNKNOWN]: So the post credits scene refers to secret wars, right?
02:16:42 --> 02:16:44 [UNKNOWN]: Does that mean Spider-Man won't be in Doom's day?
02:16:44 --> 02:16:46 [UNKNOWN]: Looking forward to hearing your review?
02:16:46 --> 02:16:47 [UNKNOWN]: Keep up the good work, Paolo.
02:16:48 --> 02:16:49 [UNKNOWN]: great stuff.
02:16:49 --> 02:16:50 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks, proud out.
02:16:51 --> 02:17:03 [UNKNOWN]: I think at the moment with thinking he won't be in due state and I think given this was as Derek has said was after, it feels a bit like
02:17:04 --> 02:17:06 [UNKNOWN]: that it might be the case.
02:17:06 --> 02:17:10 [UNKNOWN]: The release date of at least officially was supposed to be after, but yeah, it's possible.
02:17:10 --> 02:17:17 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe that's how he connected with Yelena and why he goes and visits her is because they have a moment together in Doomsday.
02:17:17 --> 02:17:17 [UNKNOWN]: Maybe that's it.
02:17:17 --> 02:17:18 [UNKNOWN]: But yeah, we don't know.
02:17:18 --> 02:17:25 [UNKNOWN]: He hasn't been announced as part of the Doomsday cast on those 155 chairs.
02:17:25 --> 02:17:27 [UNKNOWN]: If you remember that announcement for Doomsday?
02:17:27 --> 02:17:28 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, he went by.
02:17:28 --> 02:17:36 [UNKNOWN]: Tom Holland wasn't to names back then, but entirely possible, another 125 shares we brought out in Tom Holland will be in.
02:17:36 --> 02:17:49 [UNKNOWN]: Those ones, as it comes up, you know, they might even go back, I think the Rousseau's joked us to a comicon that they won't finish making doomsday until they pried out of the colded hands, so they're still making it at the moment of the day.
02:17:49 --> 02:17:51 [UNKNOWN]: If they want to replace themselves with AI,
02:17:51 --> 02:17:54 [UNKNOWN]: No, no, that's not exactly what we want to do.
02:17:54 --> 02:17:59 [UNKNOWN]: And I will confirm that for all of our fellow defenders because they have been some questions over AI recently.
02:18:00 --> 02:18:07 [UNKNOWN]: If Marvel does move to AI writing or AI CGI or AI versions of their movies, that's kind of going to be the end of the podcast.
02:18:07 --> 02:18:10 [UNKNOWN]: We will no longer be covering the MCU if that's their choice.
02:18:10 --> 02:18:11 [UNKNOWN]: So, that's fine.
02:18:12 --> 02:18:14 [UNKNOWN]: We don't worry, we don't think that will happen.
02:18:14 --> 02:18:15 [UNKNOWN]: We don't think that will happen.
02:18:15 --> 02:18:19 [UNKNOWN]: Over in Europe, there's have to have this as AI generated.
02:18:19 --> 02:18:21 [UNKNOWN]: Flash up in the corner, because of the...
02:18:21 --> 02:18:22 [UNKNOWN]: I don't think so.
02:18:22 --> 02:18:25 [UNKNOWN]: And then it'll go, and this is AI Slop.
02:18:25 --> 02:18:25 [UNKNOWN]: But...
02:18:25 --> 02:18:25 [UNKNOWN]: Exactly.
02:18:26 --> 02:18:27 [UNKNOWN]: I'll feel nervous.
02:18:27 --> 02:18:30 [UNKNOWN]: So we will be moving on from movies that do that.
02:18:30 --> 02:18:36 [UNKNOWN]: So we're hoping that the panic on AI doesn't stretch into a moral movies.
02:18:36 --> 02:18:40 [UNKNOWN]: Much like the satanic panic, the AI panic will be over soon.
02:18:42 --> 02:18:43 [UNKNOWN]: along with the planet.
02:18:43 --> 02:18:45 [UNKNOWN]: Thank you, Paolo, so much.
02:18:45 --> 02:18:49 [UNKNOWN]: And yeah, I think like you, we all kind of shed tears at different points.
02:18:50 --> 02:18:57 [UNKNOWN]: And yes, Secret Wars breweries, potentially on Battle World, there might be Spider Ireland, but I don't think so.
02:18:57 --> 02:19:04 [UNKNOWN]: I think they might just have him in his own little place and then give him black costume reference to a black costume.
02:19:04 --> 02:19:09 [UNKNOWN]: Tom Holland filming for the next 12 years to do all of the movies for a 500 different Spider
02:19:11 --> 02:19:19 [UNKNOWN]: or they'll use I. I know they want to do that at extra stuff at one final voicemail from Steve Brandt to close us our feedback.
02:19:19 --> 02:19:23 [UNKNOWN]: Evie Podcast Industries, this is Steve and this is for a spider man brand new day.
02:19:24 --> 02:19:25 [UNKNOWN]: Wow, I really enjoyed it.
02:19:26 --> 02:19:26 [UNKNOWN]: It was really fun.
02:19:26 --> 02:19:29 [UNKNOWN]: I can't wait to see it again.
02:19:29 --> 02:19:32 [UNKNOWN]: Hopefully I will get a chance to go back to the theater and see it again.
02:19:32 --> 02:19:36 [UNKNOWN]: I have one question that will have to figure out.
02:19:38 --> 02:19:49 [UNKNOWN]: The next to my view, but maybe you guys can answer it, is was Sadie Sink, the woman that he met early in the movie, in his building, they said, oh, we live in the same floor.
02:19:49 --> 02:19:53 [UNKNOWN]: And then was gone, there was no mention of her ever again.
02:19:53 --> 02:20:01 [UNKNOWN]: And I kind of, like I didn't think about it until way later in the movie when Sadie Sink has revealed, but I went, oh, was that the woman in?
02:20:02 --> 02:20:05 [UNKNOWN]: I think it was because she was like, wearing a hoodie, she had red hair,
02:20:06 --> 02:20:13 [UNKNOWN]: I think it was and that makes sense as to how she knew where his apartment was from that brief flash.
02:20:13 --> 02:20:15 [UNKNOWN]: She had in his head, but yeah, I really enjoyed it.
02:20:15 --> 02:20:19 [UNKNOWN]: I can't wait to review it on panels to pixels with Mark and see what he thought of it.
02:20:19 --> 02:20:28 [UNKNOWN]: I can't wait to hear what you guys thought of it as well because a few things that I thought were going to happen didn't happen and so I'm a little disappointed at that and
02:20:29 --> 02:20:35 [UNKNOWN]: The after credit scene, I'm a little confused about what that's supposed to mean for us.
02:20:35 --> 02:20:40 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know if that means, is that a secret wars flash?
02:20:41 --> 02:20:45 [UNKNOWN]: I don't know, uh, anyway, I guess I will talk to you later.
02:20:45 --> 02:20:47 [UNKNOWN]: Thanks so much Steve for the voice back.
02:20:47 --> 02:20:48 [UNKNOWN]: It's great to hear your thoughts there.
02:20:48 --> 02:20:53 [UNKNOWN]: I'm really interested to hear what you've got to say over in Palo's to pixels as well.
02:20:53 --> 02:20:56 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, I know the character that appears earlier on, that's not steady sync.
02:20:57 --> 02:21:00 [UNKNOWN]: Just because I saw it the second time, it looks a completely different actress that's in there.
02:21:00 --> 02:21:07 [UNKNOWN]: And we think it's just a little easter egg nod to Earth's from Spiderman 2 or maybe Gwen Stacy.
02:21:07 --> 02:21:08 [UNKNOWN]: Okay.
02:21:08 --> 02:21:09 [UNKNOWN]: That's what we think.
02:21:09 --> 02:21:09 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
02:21:09 --> 02:21:17 [UNKNOWN]: As for the other speculation about the post-production, we're not going to know really until someone confirms for definite what that is, which is probably going to be after Dunstay.
02:21:17 --> 02:21:22 [UNKNOWN]: When we start seeing trailers for what secret wars is and what is going to be.
02:21:22 --> 02:21:28 [UNKNOWN]: But that's, again, that's the general kind of suspicion that it's to do with secret wars not Dunstay.
02:21:29 --> 02:21:32 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, but thank you so much for the voice mail.
02:21:32 --> 02:21:33 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah, thanks, Steve.
02:21:34 --> 02:21:39 [UNKNOWN]: And thanks so much to all our fellow defenders for listening along to our podcast all about spread on brand new day.
02:21:39 --> 02:21:43 [UNKNOWN]: I know we were delayed a little bit for this, partly because we were off on holidays.
02:21:43 --> 02:21:46 [UNKNOWN]: I've got a very big red tan to show off.
02:21:47 --> 02:21:51 [UNKNOWN]: that I was on holidays, but it is going to stay red and then go back to white as it always does.
02:21:51 --> 02:21:53 [UNKNOWN]: And not going to be very tanned unfortunately.
02:21:54 --> 02:21:55 [UNKNOWN]: So thanks for waiting for us.

02:24:00 --> 02:24:04 [UNKNOWN]: Eventually freeing Mac, McGargin aka the Scorpion,
02:24:08 --> 02:24:13 [UNKNOWN]: Peter returns to his anonymous life until he runs into Ned at a local bodega.
02:24:17 --> 02:24:21 [UNKNOWN]: At a local bodega at a local bodega.
02:24:21 --> 02:24:23 [UNKNOWN]: This time Peter introduces himself.
02:24:25 --> 02:24:29 [UNKNOWN]: Like you can hear it goes inside his helmet and you sit inside.
02:24:29 --> 02:24:34 [UNKNOWN]: You see the brand rushing just because you'll kill yourself if you
02:24:38 --> 02:25:03 [UNKNOWN]: you go we go inside his mask and you see through his eyes and partially of his eyes weird camera choice but we're doing it well eventually being allowed in by the consent of Peter Parker into his mind because he's the only one she can't penetrate mentally and I knew you were going to do that so since I'd penetrated that I would do that I'm going to start mentally
02:25:05 --> 02:25:13 [UNKNOWN]: She's the only one and he's the only one that she's not being able to get inside his head
