Gen V Season 2 Episode 6 "Cooking Lessons" Details
Developed by: Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg & Eric Kripke
Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson
Episode written by: Chelsea Grate
Episode directed by: Catriona McKenzie
Synopsis:
After being resurrected by her sister, a newly-empowered Annabeth leads the team in a daring escape from their prison, guided by her precognitive visions and Sam’s brute-force wall smashing. They find brief refuge in an abandoned library, where Emma manages to send a desperate call for help to Harper. Harper, in turn, reaches out to Polarity—who is unknowingly under the control of Cipher.
Cipher seizes on this intel and unleashes Vikor to track down Marie, but before he can reach her, Zoe Neuman intercepts and kills Vikor during her own search for Marie alongside Stan Edgar. With nowhere else to turn, the remaining team reluctantly follows Zoe and Stan back to their underground bunker. There, Stan reveals a chilling truth: Marie and Homelander are the only surviving successes of Odessa, a secret program he once shut down—believing it had failed.
While Sam struggles to reconnect with Emma—only for her to pull away—Stan starts unraveling a disturbing parallel between Cipher’s schemes and the work of Thomas Godolkin. Jordan and Cate put the pieces together, realizing that Cipher is actually Thomas’s son, manipulating his father’s legacy to complete his own twisted vision. Stan considers using Thomas as a weapon to challenge Homelander and reclaim control of Vought.
Cipher’s true intentions come into focus: to purge Godolkin of all but the most powerful Supes, leaving only the elite standing. He reveals this genocidal plan to Polarity—who violently rejects it, hurling Cipher out a window using his powers. Meanwhile, Cate pleads with Marie to use her powers to heal her, but Marie refuses. She leaves the protection of Stan Edgar's secure bunker closely followed by Cate.

GEN V SEASON 2 EPISODE 6 TRANSCRIPT
00:00.071 --> 00:07.375
[CHRIS]: This is the boy's GenV podcast on TV podcasts, injuries, and we're talking about GenV season two, episode six, cooking lesson.
00:07.975 --> 00:11.977
[MARIE]: It was the only family I've got left.
00:15.318 --> 00:20.521
[MARIE]: The only thing that I want is for you to be safe.
00:20.741 --> 00:26.484
[ANNABETH]: Marie, anything bad that has ever happened in my life has been because of you.
00:29.427 --> 00:30.515
[ANNABETH]: You are the danger.
00:55.650 --> 01:04.898
[CHRIS]: welcome back boys and girls to the boys gen v podcast on tv podcast entries and we're talking by gen v season 2 episode 6 cooking lesson.
01:05.218 --> 01:08.241
[CHRIS]: I am one of your hosts chef Chris.
01:09.282 --> 01:11.284
[DEREK]: I am your other host very hungry Derek.
01:12.190 --> 01:13.851
[CHRIS]: Yeah, there you go.
01:14.051 --> 01:17.052
[CHRIS]: Can, can you dice this tomato for me, please?
01:17.612 --> 01:18.512
[CHRIS]: Or to me, too.
01:18.532 --> 01:20.393
[DEREK]: Oh, it's about, oh, yes.
01:21.373 --> 01:27.835
[DEREK]: You know, it's one of those things that a lot of people don't really think of if you're stuck in a bunker living out the rest of your life because the whole world's gone to crap.
01:27.855 --> 01:29.075
[DEREK]: But who's going to cook for you?
01:29.275 --> 01:30.355
[DEREK]: Oh, very smart.
01:30.375 --> 01:38.578
[DEREK]: I'm a starter to go get some, some proper lessons from a, from a, an award-winning chef for six, six figures plus.
01:38.858 --> 01:38.998
[DEREK]: Yep.
01:39.258 --> 01:41.339
[CHRIS]: Yeah, that's some good cooking lessons.
01:41.419 --> 01:43.259
[CHRIS]: Yes, it is.
01:43.580 --> 01:48.201
[CHRIS]: Unfortunately, we're not earning six figures in our day jobs for cooking lessons.
01:49.121 --> 01:49.962
[DEREK]: Maybe through our Patreon.
01:50.502 --> 01:50.982
[DEREK]: No, we're not.
01:51.002 --> 01:51.542
[DEREK]: I don't know.
01:51.902 --> 02:02.146
[CHRIS]: If anyone wants to pay us six figures per month for our dulcid tones and thoughts on Jan V. We are more than welcome.
02:02.546 --> 02:07.588
[CHRIS]: But until that happens, I think we need to just focus on
02:08.128 --> 02:14.299
[CHRIS]: What will be a fatata level of podcast discussion?
02:14.519 --> 02:15.541
[CHRIS]: Yes, absolutely.
02:16.001 --> 02:17.344
[CHRIS]: I did think he'd go more.
02:18.405 --> 02:27.031
[CHRIS]: for at least that level of cooking lesson, do you think you go a bit more kind of spectacular than a tomato frittata?
02:27.271 --> 02:29.653
[CHRIS]: Yeah, which is basically just a tomato omelet?
02:29.853 --> 02:30.914
[DEREK]: It is basically, isn't it?
02:30.934 --> 02:33.116
[DEREK]: Yeah, it's kind of thinking, you know, what could you do?
02:33.416 --> 02:44.924
[DEREK]: Like, I guess you'd have to be in that bunker with lots of caviar, you know, lots of lots of wagyu steak or something in there, but they've already done the wagyu steak moment to this season so they can't repeat that, can I?
02:46.485 --> 02:54.589
[CHRIS]: Well, for six figures, you can't, but we're not here to talk about six figures or why do you say for even for tatas?
02:55.069 --> 02:57.450
[CHRIS]: We are here to make sure it's concrete.
02:57.550 --> 02:58.571
[DEREK]: That's what we're here for, apparently.
02:58.591 --> 02:59.952
[CHRIS]: Yeah, pretty much.
03:00.792 --> 03:04.434
[CHRIS]: No, we're here to discuss cooking lesson the episode.
03:04.954 --> 03:09.616
[CHRIS]: Now, before we get into it, don't forget to pop on over to our website, TV podcast and she
03:15.619 --> 03:18.561
[CHRIS]: Super or starlighter, podcast players.
03:18.801 --> 03:27.806
[CHRIS]: You can also send us your feedback to feedback at tvpodcastindustry.com or hand on over to a Facebook group at Facebook.com slash group slash tvpodcastindustries.
03:28.146 --> 03:34.630
[CHRIS]: And you can leave us your thoughts on each spoiler post for each episode because we want to hear what you think.
03:35.330 --> 03:37.531
[CHRIS]: Would you pay six figures for Tata lesson?
03:37.891 --> 03:38.392
[CHRIS]: We don't know.
03:39.492 --> 03:43.895
[CHRIS]: But would you pay six figures for the Gen V pub quiz?
03:44.957 --> 03:46.597
[CHRIS]: Our quiz master may not be here.
03:46.978 --> 03:55.080
[CHRIS]: That is okay, but he has left us some questions and you know, that means we'll be continuing our gen V pop quiz with a question later in the episode.
03:55.300 --> 04:04.442
[CHRIS]: Don't forget you can gather together all eight answers to these questions at the end of this season email them to us at feedback at TV podcast industry's.com
04:05.122 --> 04:09.244
[CHRIS]: And you can be in a chance of getting your hands on some gen B goodies.
04:09.624 --> 04:12.145
[DEREK]: Yes, our quizmaster has not left us any questions.
04:12.185 --> 04:17.408
[DEREK]: The good news is that that means the question is way easier than what you do with the series.
04:18.008 --> 04:20.149
[DEREK]: So you'll hear that question later on in the podcast.
04:20.749 --> 04:22.650
[DEREK]: That's our sixth question of eight crisscus.
04:22.670 --> 04:26.772
[DEREK]: We're coming up to where our last couple of episodes of Gen B. I know, the penultimate is next week.
04:26.932 --> 04:27.052
[DEREK]: And...
04:28.545 --> 04:33.552
[CHRIS]: I have no idea, well, though, I think I know where they go, but I have no idea where they're going.
04:34.493 --> 04:35.955
[DEREK]: We will talk about it, definitely.
04:36.275 --> 04:37.757
[CHRIS]: But before we get into it, and...
04:38.674 --> 04:40.054
[CHRIS]: We're gonna get into it, Derek.
04:40.074 --> 04:42.035
[CHRIS]: Do you want to tell us who gave us what we're winning?
04:42.295 --> 04:44.715
[CHRIS]: How with the episode details?
04:45.136 --> 04:46.236
[DEREK]: Absolutely, yes, the show.
04:46.256 --> 04:50.177
[DEREK]: Of course, it's developed by Craig Rosenberg and Evan Goberg with Eric Krippky.
04:50.497 --> 04:53.858
[DEREK]: It's based on the comic series by Garth Ennis and Derek Robertson.
04:54.078 --> 04:56.678
[DEREK]: The executive producer of the show are Seth Rogan and Evan Goberg.
04:56.978 --> 04:59.019
[DEREK]: And this episode was written by Chelsea Grace.
04:59.259 --> 05:03.240
[DEREK]: She wrote Season 1 episode 7 and is an executive story editor on the show, of course.
05:03.600 --> 05:03.941
[DEREK]: as well.
05:04.521 --> 05:15.673
[DEREK]: The episode is directed by Katrina McKenzie, our first episode of Gen V, but she did direct the boys season four episodes, seven, that's been also an episode of that season as well, and also directed the third episode of Echo from Marvel.
05:16.294 --> 05:17.816
[DEREK]: So we talked about her last year on the podcast.
05:18.296 --> 05:18.837
[CHRIS]: That was a good one.
05:19.278 --> 05:26.403
[DEREK]: I was, yes, yes, we enjoyed that, okay, so it gets lots of people commenting on the on threads going, why did nobody tell me this show was that good?
05:26.923 --> 05:30.746
[DEREK]: I think it's just because it all came at a day and people just assumed it wasn't going to be that good.
05:31.506 --> 05:35.729
[DEREK]: It's not the greatest of Marvel shows, don't get me wrong, but certainly worth a watch, it's not that easy to talk about.
05:36.249 --> 05:48.778
[CHRIS]: No, no, no exactly, it's up there with like, where will, by nice, where it's still every like, every now and again someone will tell me, he's like, oh, I saw this thing and turns out it's Marvel, I'm like, yep, but that's pretty good.
05:49.018 --> 05:49.978
[DEREK]: Yeah, absolutely.
05:49.998 --> 06:00.682
[DEREK]: Yeah, it's one of those interesting ones that people say they didn't watch because it wasn't black and white and then when you tell them there's a colorized version there was released about a month after the black and white one was like oh, I'm gonna go and check that out.
06:00.902 --> 06:02.143
[DEREK]: Yeah, I have a lot of fun.
06:02.343 --> 06:03.083
[DEREK]: Yeah, it's great stuff.
06:03.523 --> 06:10.066
[DEREK]: But Chris, do you want to tell us what they gave us with you some apps this for the boys gen V season two episode six cooking lesson.
06:10.866 --> 06:11.046
[CHRIS]: Sure.
06:12.528 --> 06:24.433
[CHRIS]: After being resurrected by your sister, a newly empowered Annabeth leads the team in a daring escape from their prison, guided by her pre-code visions, and sounds brute force wall-smushing.
06:25.293 --> 06:31.756
[CHRIS]: They find brief refuge in a bundled library where Emma manages to send a desperate call for help to Harper.
06:32.336 --> 06:37.198
[CHRIS]: Harper in turn reaches out to Plarity, who is a knowingly under the control of Cypher.
06:38.238 --> 06:59.245
[CHRIS]: Cypher seizes on the synth out along the leashes vicar to track Damry, but before he can kill her, Zoe knew what intercepts and kills vicar during her own search for Marie alongside, the one and only Stan Edgar, with nowhere else to turn, the remaining team were luckily follows Zoe and Stan back to their underground bunker.
07:00.145 --> 07:02.287
[CHRIS]: There, Stan will build a chilling truth.
07:03.028 --> 07:07.271
[CHRIS]: Marie and homelander are the only surviving successes of Odessa.
07:07.932 --> 07:10.934
[CHRIS]: A secret program he once shut down believing it had failed.
07:11.295 --> 07:21.804
[CHRIS]: While Sam struggles to reconnect with Emma, only for her to pull away, Stan starts unraveling as a stirping parallel between Cypher schemes and the work of Thomas Kodolkin.
07:23.330 --> 07:33.021
[CHRIS]: Jordan and Kate put the pieces together, realizing that Cypher is actually Thomas's son, manipulating his father's legacy to complete his own twisted vision.
07:33.221 --> 07:39.889
[CHRIS]: Stain considered using Thomas's weapon to challenge homelander, and we claim control of Vaught.
07:41.090 --> 07:50.034
[CHRIS]: Cypher's true intentions come into focus to purge God all can of all but the most powerful supes, leaving only the elite standing.
07:50.214 --> 07:57.097
[CHRIS]: He reveals this genocidal plan to polarity, who finally rejects it, hurling Cypher to window using his powers.
07:57.517 --> 08:02.561
[CHRIS]: Meanwhile, Kate pleats with Marie to use her powers to heal her, but Marie refuses.
08:03.101 --> 08:08.526
[CHRIS]: She leaves the protection of Starlight your secure bunker, followed closely by Kate.
08:08.786 --> 08:11.368
[CHRIS]: Well, they have it, definitely interesting.
08:13.060 --> 08:14.161
[CHRIS]: Um, turn of events.
08:14.682 --> 08:21.387
[DEREK]: Is the best way of putting, I think, yeah, there's still some questions on this episode as to exactly what Cypher is.
08:21.407 --> 08:22.688
[DEREK]: And now it's very clear we try it.
08:22.728 --> 08:24.209
[DEREK]: We try and kind of come down on the side.
08:24.530 --> 08:26.111
[DEREK]: When we have this then ops, that's right.
08:26.211 --> 08:27.792
[DEREK]: I don't want exactly as happening.
08:27.812 --> 08:41.603
[DEREK]: Um, the little jump there that that they have guessed that Cypher is the son of Thomas Goodallton, which we've been jumping back to that conclusion all season, but there's still that possibility that a that Cypher's body is being controlled
08:42.888 --> 08:43.769
[DEREK]: Thomas Cadelkin as well.
08:43.809 --> 08:46.650
[DEREK]: I don't think it's firmly there in there.
08:46.690 --> 08:50.032
[CHRIS]: No, I'm with you like even in the synopsis.
08:50.092 --> 08:51.793
[CHRIS]: I'm a bit like I don't know.
08:51.813 --> 08:53.494
[CHRIS]: They like they made the jump.
08:53.574 --> 08:54.474
[CHRIS]: They're saying this.
08:54.574 --> 09:02.038
[CHRIS]: I think there's no direct until we get I'm controlling my dad or using that thing or because again,
09:04.613 --> 09:30.384
[CHRIS]: what we're seeing is cipher can control people but what we're not seeing is that he like we haven't got like any information or anything to say that he is like telepathic and pull information out of people for example yeah so he can read people's minds that we have kind of her that he knows what's going on he we've heard that he knows what's going on yeah but we haven't actually heard that he can
09:31.184 --> 09:32.645
[CHRIS]: like pull that information out.
09:33.265 --> 09:36.767
[CHRIS]: It's just like usually they would be very blatant about it.
09:36.887 --> 09:37.207
[DEREK]: Exactly.
09:37.527 --> 09:49.173
[DEREK]: So that's why I'm a bit like, it was just even there's a moment in the episode where which I thought was going to confirm or Cypher is slapping what we now know as Thomas can now, that's been confirmed.
09:49.553 --> 09:56.357
[DEREK]: But he's slapping him in the face telling him that he's that he's used this or saying at least to the world that he's used this.
09:56.397 --> 09:58.198
[DEREK]: And you're still wondering whether
09:59.592 --> 10:04.416
[DEREK]: That's his body being controlled by Thomas Cadelkin and I don't know for some for some reason.
10:04.556 --> 10:07.498
[CHRIS]: I'm still not sure He slaps himself first.
10:07.918 --> 10:16.504
[CHRIS]: Yes, so we will get into this more because I think this and then he smacks himself around Then he continues at a later point to search my hearing around there.
10:16.524 --> 10:17.625
[CHRIS]: Yeah, the the form.
10:17.885 --> 10:21.868
[CHRIS]: So I'm a bit like oh, well, as Cypher was not with
10:22.909 --> 10:30.952
[CHRIS]: Kodolkin, he starts slapping himself and then when he's with Kodolkin, he slaps himself again, but does that by smacking?
10:31.133 --> 10:32.053
[CHRIS]: I think there's a bit there.
10:32.133 --> 10:34.094
[CHRIS]: There's something, but let's get into talking about that later.
10:34.214 --> 10:39.676
[CHRIS]: So, if you're joining us for the first time, I don't know why, because you're jumping in a quick, interesting point.
10:40.176 --> 10:45.579
[CHRIS]: But we are here and we usually break it down very quickly to talk about
10:46.379 --> 10:59.407
[CHRIS]: Our freshman moments, our sophomore moments, and our senior moments, freshman minor, sophomore medium, and our senior is our major moments, and I think we'll kick off with our freshman
11:07.781 --> 11:24.830
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah, we've described our fresh moment as the moment that kind of sticks with us after the episode, sometimes just a really freakish attack, and sometimes just something that's going on in the background that kind of makes you think, this time my one is the gang hiding out in the library, just because of what's
11:25.836 --> 11:26.877
[DEREK]: Not sad, I suppose.
11:27.637 --> 11:33.320
[DEREK]: The team themselves kind of get there and Emma is just really wants to use the bathroom basically, that's it.
11:34.060 --> 11:40.544
[DEREK]: But if you look at the kind of corners and the edges of what's going on here, it kind of tells a bit of a story that what's going on in this world.
11:41.184 --> 11:42.545
[DEREK]: And now the home landers.
11:43.285 --> 11:49.691
[DEREK]: gotten into power and that the homelanders and starlishers are up against each other, that the homeland supporters and starlishers are up against each other.
11:49.951 --> 11:53.774
[DEREK]: Because there seems to be lots of burned books in this library.
11:54.235 --> 12:03.082
[DEREK]: Some that you can read, the covers of, there's a reference to drag story time where drag queens were used to be able to read books and libraries to young kids, but that's been banned.
12:04.324 --> 12:05.925
[DEREK]: in this horrible world.
12:06.986 --> 12:14.954
[DEREK]: And also, 1994 is a book that's burned, which is, which talks about an over-controlling superpower taking over the country.
12:15.014 --> 12:24.623
[DEREK]: But just quite interesting that this kind of stuff is going on in the corners of the world, while we have these college kids worrying about what's going on in their university, basically.
12:25.143 --> 12:32.808
[DEREK]: And the other one that you might notice at just because Emma before she goes into the library is going to her to her to her to her to her to her to her.
12:33.189 --> 12:39.853
[DEREK]: You notice the actual sign that's up there for the gender neutral bathroom has been sprayed over with the word purve as well.
12:39.933 --> 12:43.676
[DEREK]: So again, somebody taking issue with the fact that at
12:44.136 --> 12:58.330
[DEREK]: Outside of your own home, you're not allowed to use the same bathroom as someone of the oven of the genderacrisse apparently, and you must use a signed bathroom for your assigned gender when you go into anywhere outside of your own home, even though everybody lives in the place with a gender and usual bathroom.
12:58.951 --> 13:02.194
[DEREK]: To the point where it seems to have driven some kind of attack on this library.
13:02.234 --> 13:03.915
[DEREK]: So this is the thing that stuck with me.
13:03.935 --> 13:07.058
[DEREK]: At the end of the episode I was going, wow, they didn't really talk about that very much.
13:07.099 --> 13:08.079
[DEREK]: The whole team are there.
13:08.860 --> 13:18.310
[DEREK]: Um, in the site that looks like it's, you know, it's, it's been, uh, the size of some kind of battle or some kind of fight between one group and another, uh, who've been turfed out of this place.
13:18.330 --> 13:25.337
[DEREK]: Um, and now we have our gang just kind of sitting in the remnants of, uh, of a place that would be, uh, welcoming to everybody.
13:25.677 --> 13:28.360
[DEREK]: Um, but it seems to have had some kind of big battle and book burning.
13:28.680 --> 13:34.522
[CHRIS]: Yep, we often threw out the boys' gen V season 1.
13:35.642 --> 13:41.263
[CHRIS]: We've talked about Krippki and Krippki, one of the lead writers and kind of showrunners.
13:41.744 --> 13:46.265
[CHRIS]: We've talked about Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen and how they've all seemed to be
13:47.345 --> 14:06.797
[CHRIS]: almost pre-cog themselves when it comes to ensuring that when their stuff, when their shells are coming out, those shells in particular, that a lot of the theings or some of the bits that have happened, mirror reality to a degree.
14:07.057 --> 14:07.558
[MARIE]: Yeah, absolutely.
14:08.098 --> 14:12.479
[CHRIS]: This is another great example, where we are seeing this across the world.
14:12.659 --> 14:23.963
[CHRIS]: This is a very blatant kind of one where you could have written about this two years ago, and you could guess that this type of thing is happening.
14:24.043 --> 14:24.643
[DEREK]: Well, absolutely.
14:24.703 --> 14:27.144
[DEREK]: I suppose that in this case, that stuff had been happening.
14:27.664 --> 14:32.451
[DEREK]: five years ago, let's say it's not, it's not literally something that's only been happening in the last seven or eight months.
14:32.511 --> 14:40.622
[DEREK]: It's been something that they're going on as people's opinions and people's lives started to get weaponized against each other, which is just a sad state of affairs.
14:41.040 --> 14:45.302
[CHRIS]: it is and I think this will be explored more in the voice that season.
14:45.842 --> 14:58.929
[CHRIS]: I think because I think this is where we're going to see the starlighters versus the homelanders and that's what we're going to call this call it left versus right but they're going to call it starlighters versus homeland and it's going to be
15:00.370 --> 15:20.309
[CHRIS]: So they're going to be more of these types of discussions and it will, I think the boys will be more more blatantly call it that, I think that's the, so I think this again, we know this is a setup, so I think for those of us who do look at all these things and notice what's going on and like you, unlike our listeners.
15:21.110 --> 15:22.151
[CHRIS]: I think we'll go.
15:22.171 --> 15:22.712
[CHRIS]: Okay.
15:23.553 --> 15:23.933
[CHRIS]: Interesting.
15:24.134 --> 15:24.274
[MARIE]: Yeah.
15:24.394 --> 15:25.335
[CHRIS]: This is sort of sick with us.
15:25.695 --> 15:27.357
[CHRIS]: I think some people may not notice it.
15:27.417 --> 15:28.238
[CHRIS]: Some people might go.
15:28.318 --> 15:34.025
[CHRIS]: It's just a Although they were pretty blatant with the 1984 and Trans fire book pile.
15:36.267 --> 16:03.506
[DEREK]: Yeah, but yeah, I do like to often state that my favorite review that we've ever got for our boys podcast was I go woke go broke going woke is for losers on our boys podcast to the most woke show that we've ever covered Even more and more woke than more woke than all of the Marvel shows combined There's still people that watch this show and still people that well, maybe they don't even watch the show anymore till people that thought they watch the show because homeland
16:06.148 --> 16:11.054
[DEREK]: and that there's people that are just ignore every single bit of subtlety that's in the show.
16:12.516 --> 16:12.996
[SPEAKER_01]: But there you go.
16:13.016 --> 16:14.077
[DEREK]: That's my minor moment.
16:14.118 --> 16:14.858
[DEREK]: Chris, I bet you saw.
16:15.279 --> 16:16.400
[CHRIS]: Uh, stand the man.
16:16.440 --> 16:18.162
[CHRIS]: Welcome back to our Edgar.
16:18.242 --> 16:18.543
[CHRIS]: Yes.
16:18.643 --> 16:19.284
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
16:20.185 --> 16:22.427
[CHRIS]: Um, we actually discussed.
16:23.468 --> 16:26.970
[CHRIS]: Stan Edgar in the boys when he disappeared.
16:27.550 --> 16:28.191
[CHRIS]: Where is he?
16:28.211 --> 16:29.031
[CHRIS]: I think I'm going to bring him back.
16:29.091 --> 16:30.212
[CHRIS]: Is that him gone now?
16:30.372 --> 16:34.574
[CHRIS]: And we were very much like way hold on there.
16:34.594 --> 16:36.836
[CHRIS]: Just like how are they not tying that up?
16:37.096 --> 16:37.396
[DEREK]: Yeah.
16:37.436 --> 16:42.419
[DEREK]: Because he was the central kind of source of villain in the first season until home after that job.
16:42.439 --> 16:43.800
[DEREK]: People's the speed.
16:44.721 --> 16:59.062
[DEREK]: Head of Voss, such a central character, and I think we kind of put it down to, well, it's Jingle, I suppose either, like he's got 25 other roles, that he's just walks off, sat and goes on to the next one, so maybe you just can't get him back for the season, but hey, great to have back in this show.
16:59.840 --> 17:03.262
[CHRIS]: And for what seems to be setting up, his return.
17:03.902 --> 17:09.745
[CHRIS]: Like he is actively trying to get back into the ownership and leadership of water.
17:10.165 --> 17:11.165
[CHRIS]: So interesting to see that.
17:11.205 --> 17:15.807
[CHRIS]: This is not John Carlos, you see, though, Sun setting himself, I thought it might be.
17:15.987 --> 17:22.590
[CHRIS]: No, this is, they set him up here and they're like, hey, no, no, he has, he's got Newman's kid.
17:22.871 --> 17:28.073
[CHRIS]: His granddaughter is with him and they're taking, they're going to regain control.
17:28.513 --> 17:30.874
[DEREK]: Yeah, still too obsessed with after this isn't crazy.
17:30.934 --> 17:31.454
[DEREK]: I know, I know.
17:32.995 --> 17:35.956
[DEREK]: We still got a few more, a few more surprising deaths to come.
17:36.016 --> 17:40.678
[DEREK]: So I wouldn't say it's definitely going to survive this season.
17:40.998 --> 17:43.199
[DEREK]: But they're starting up with a good story, that at least.
17:43.279 --> 17:43.679
[CHRIS]: Exactly.
17:43.819 --> 17:46.000
[CHRIS]: And there's someone who could theoretically bring him back now.
17:47.081 --> 17:49.402
[CHRIS]: Um, well, I don't know, homelander rips you in part.
17:49.622 --> 17:50.562
[CHRIS]: Can you still come back?
17:51.562 --> 17:54.003
[DEREK]: Oh, she needs to do this niss the blood back together.
17:55.991 --> 18:19.478
[CHRIS]: I, I was just shocked to see him and I think that it was good to see a this Newman Newman's kid coming in and tanticalizing Vycore was not on my not on my like my kind of hmm okay That's how you're gonna deal with this cool and then seeing him come in I was like
18:21.097 --> 18:25.801
[CHRIS]: Because when I did foresee a new one I was like, oh, who's that?
18:25.861 --> 18:28.723
[CHRIS]: I think I know what that face and then when the tentacles happen.
18:28.743 --> 18:31.766
[DEREK]: Oh, that was so ugly.
18:32.402 --> 18:40.208
[CHRIS]: And then you guess that very recognizable voice, and the John Carlos S. Pseeta, and you're that great.
18:40.548 --> 18:47.093
[CHRIS]: So that's kind of my mind, Mom, because I just thought him being back as such a, yeah, I just didn't expect it.
18:47.113 --> 18:49.475
[CHRIS]: So it was just a kind of a great thing to have.
18:49.635 --> 18:50.175
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah.
18:50.756 --> 18:55.239
[DEREK]: And you're just kind of swans through this world, which is like confidence that nobody else seems to have.
18:55.419 --> 18:58.321
[DEREK]: You know, he's been, you know, he's been on the rock.
18:58.341 --> 19:00.263
[DEREK]: She's been down to his lowest point.
19:01.944 --> 19:03.246
[DEREK]: dragged away from his company.
19:03.286 --> 19:19.083
[DEREK]: He's lost his daughter, has his granddaughter was ripped away from and here he is, but pretty comfortable in a place that he says is under Graham Bunker that he says that's even more expensive than the crap one that Zuckerberg builds from stuff.
19:20.125 --> 19:20.665
[DEREK]: That's great.
19:21.086 --> 19:21.766
[DEREK]: Love that little gag.
19:23.668 --> 19:34.537
[DEREK]: I'm going to move on to our medium moments because it kicks off from what you mentioned there about the return of Zoe Newman because that was my kind of medium moment from the episode.
19:34.557 --> 19:43.044
[DEREK]: I thought it was a real surprise and what I really liked about it was that Vikor shows up because Cypher sent in there and another plot will kind of talk about it in a minute.
19:44.025 --> 19:50.574
[DEREK]: where they're trying to track Marie and all the gang, they're able to guess the information that they're after library.
19:51.155 --> 19:58.124
[DEREK]: And Viker shows up and the first thing I thought was like, you'd think what the pair is the sight for that you'd have one more supe on his payroll.
19:58.665 --> 20:00.667
[DEREK]: But he seems to just have this one henchman.
20:01.508 --> 20:08.651
[DEREK]: Viker just seems to be the one and only supe that he's able to use or that's doing his bidding basically because he's an absolute a-hole.
20:08.671 --> 20:09.852
[DEREK]: He doesn't need to control me.
20:09.892 --> 20:12.073
[DEREK]: Just goes and does whatever sites he asks him to do.
20:12.653 --> 20:18.916
[DEREK]: So when Cypher got his face ripped off and his head ripped and parsed, I was really surprised it was just like, okay, well at least he's gone.
20:19.236 --> 20:20.377
[DEREK]: So we don't have to see him again.
20:20.857 --> 20:27.282
[DEREK]: And what's the Cypher going to do now when he doesn't have this guy as his henchmen basically?
20:27.382 --> 20:29.083
[DEREK]: But it was a real surprise.
20:29.404 --> 20:30.344
[DEREK]: Cool to see Zoe back.
20:30.384 --> 20:35.068
[DEREK]: There's so much story line I suppose from Newman within the boys show.
20:35.108 --> 20:39.411
[DEREK]: She was such a central character teaming up with the boys getting very close to
20:40.923 --> 20:44.405
[DEREK]: Effectively working with them to take down home lander using her powers.
20:44.465 --> 20:51.688
[DEREK]: That was the that was kind of the the deal that they'd made whether before Billy Butcher came in and ripped her in half She'd made that deal.
20:51.748 --> 21:05.695
[DEREK]: They were gonna sort of right, but I suppose when you're able to pull all that together She also told Marie that she had the same powers as as Victoria Newman so now with Marie and Zoe connect in together again that does set up Marie to be
21:06.195 --> 21:09.396
[DEREK]: the champion that could take Dan homelander with her powers, right?
21:09.496 --> 21:11.277
[DEREK]: So lots of people wanted for this.
21:11.317 --> 21:12.997
[DEREK]: We talked about it last week.
21:13.037 --> 21:16.178
[DEREK]: A lot lots of people want Marie for the powers that she has.
21:16.238 --> 21:21.520
[DEREK]: She's been now trained that you can bring people back from the dead, just by focusing on the blood.
21:22.180 --> 21:29.802
[DEREK]: But she can also kill homelander, which is what Victoria Newman could have done if she'd been able to surprise Holdlander, I think, was kind of the idea, right?
21:30.795 --> 21:41.588
[CHRIS]: Yeah, I wasn't curious because does that mean Stannaker worked with Goodalkin's research to make Newman
21:43.476 --> 21:44.897
[CHRIS]: because Newman's power is set.
21:45.957 --> 21:49.299
[CHRIS]: So, or did he use some, I'm wondering if there's a connection there.
21:49.860 --> 21:55.783
[CHRIS]: Like, because, she said that, she says that blood bending was Newman's power.
21:55.823 --> 21:56.823
[CHRIS]: We knew that to be a fact.
21:56.863 --> 22:01.266
[CHRIS]: We thought Newman's power originally was more... She could have had explode people.
22:01.386 --> 22:02.126
[CHRIS]: Yes.
22:02.467 --> 22:04.208
[CHRIS]: She could pop people's head like a balloon.
22:04.708 --> 22:05.708
[CHRIS]: Yeah, but it's a balloon.
22:05.788 --> 22:05.948
[CHRIS]: Yes.
22:06.749 --> 22:11.452
[CHRIS]: So, I'm wondering if there's something additional there, just in terms of maybe,
22:12.512 --> 22:15.659
[CHRIS]: Edgar Sam Edgar was trying to recreate
22:19.030 --> 22:22.611
[CHRIS]: Marie, or some goodalkan's research, made new men.
22:23.092 --> 22:24.772
[DEREK]: Yeah, it's something interesting.
22:24.872 --> 22:27.293
[DEREK]: It's kind of like Stan says he shut down the program.
22:27.954 --> 22:29.834
[DEREK]: I don't think he was involved in it as such.
22:30.155 --> 22:43.140
[DEREK]: He shut down the program because it wasn't working and he says the only two people that survived it, were how Nandem Marie, but he doesn't talk about all the other supes that are right there in the world, most of them being given their company, that gave their powers.
22:43.860 --> 22:46.643
[DEREK]: That's far as I remember Victoria Newman's the same as that.
22:46.843 --> 22:52.109
[DEREK]: She was experimented on a red river, or experimented on a winter red river.
22:52.569 --> 22:55.913
[DEREK]: But I don't think she was part of this Odessa program as such.
22:56.422 --> 22:58.744
[CHRIS]: No, so it's safe for example.
22:59.004 --> 23:01.506
[CHRIS]: I'm going to use a Marvel reference comic book reference.
23:01.646 --> 23:02.326
[CHRIS]: Oh, no, Chris.
23:02.386 --> 23:03.487
[CHRIS]: Yeah, I know good stuff.
23:03.928 --> 23:07.830
[CHRIS]: So in comic books, you have Mike need to unpolaris.
23:08.531 --> 23:15.196
[CHRIS]: And Mike need both of them are can control magnetism or the masters of magnetism.
23:15.396 --> 23:19.139
[CHRIS]: Look like, no, Polaris turned out to be through comic books stuff.
23:19.579 --> 23:21.080
[CHRIS]: My needle's daughter, but take that out.
23:21.440 --> 23:23.722
[CHRIS]: You can, you have people with the same power sets.
23:25.363 --> 23:33.868
[CHRIS]: But one is tear, tears of both in terms of strength and ability and the other is not.
23:34.129 --> 23:37.971
[CHRIS]: Yeah, I'm wondering if that's kind of what they're saying here, which is more okay.
23:37.991 --> 23:42.734
[CHRIS]: Yes, homelander is has some of the same parasites of some of the other supes.
23:42.974 --> 23:46.436
[CHRIS]: So golden boy could fly, wasn't vulnerable and strength, like Sam.
23:47.377 --> 23:52.861
[CHRIS]: But homelanders on like echelons of both in terms of strength and the durability and stuff.
23:55.442 --> 24:03.808
[CHRIS]: Marie is that the power set there is, like, same as Newman, but tears above.
24:04.028 --> 24:04.508
[CHRIS]: Absolutely.
24:05.409 --> 24:07.671
[CHRIS]: And I'm wondering if that's where they're getting into an interesting game.
24:07.811 --> 24:07.971
[DEREK]: Yeah.
24:08.211 --> 24:08.851
[DEREK]: Yeah, absolutely.
24:09.852 --> 24:10.673
[DEREK]: That's very much it.
24:10.713 --> 24:17.958
[DEREK]: It's that Marie is, um, is this massively super parrot, um, individual that went through the full program in Odessa.
24:18.018 --> 24:18.838
[DEREK]: She's survived it.
24:18.878 --> 24:23.682
[DEREK]: So she has paras that are, as yes, on like, unexplored, uh, and Cyprus looking to,
24:24.182 --> 24:25.143
[DEREK]: Explore them basically.
24:25.203 --> 24:35.433
[DEREK]: That's why I killed your sister and there's a great conversation that's happening amongst the group when they're leaving the the prison Where were Emma's kind of going at telling Sam you know, that's not that we're just saying that happened.
24:35.813 --> 24:40.598
[DEREK]: She did a miracle Like she brought her sister back to life.
24:40.858 --> 24:47.825
[DEREK]: I stopped saying that that's a miracle I just did what he said to what he said I'd do and he was rice and that's not a miracle
24:48.405 --> 24:50.487
[DEREK]: It is pretty much a miracle as we talked about last week.
24:50.567 --> 24:53.089
[DEREK]: She is Jesus and her sister is Lazarus, you know?
24:55.351 --> 25:03.398
[DEREK]: But Chris, I meant to say we didn't we didn't say this but I Have to play the sander you were right.
25:03.619 --> 25:04.279
[DEREK]: You were right.
25:04.579 --> 25:05.280
[SPEAKER_01]: I was wrong.
25:05.600 --> 25:06.341
[SPEAKER_01]: You were right
25:07.547 --> 25:10.189
[DEREK]: David Tennant there from Goodoman, so I don't get to use that very often.
25:10.289 --> 25:11.709
[DEREK]: It's sort of a side of Goodoman's.
25:11.809 --> 25:19.153
[DEREK]: But yes, Chris Lassriek had suggested that the team would not be staying in a myra for very long.
25:20.354 --> 25:28.819
[DEREK]: The first ten minutes of the show, also suggesting that Anna Beth was paired even though everything previously on in the season had said that she wasn't paired.
25:29.099 --> 25:29.979
[DEREK]: She is also paired.
25:29.999 --> 25:30.760
[DEREK]: She's a pretty colleague.
25:31.300 --> 25:32.941
[DEREK]: I able to see the future potentially.
25:37.083 --> 25:38.424
[DEREK]: Where'd you get all this separation Chris?
25:38.464 --> 25:39.325
[DEREK]: How'd you get all this right?
25:39.926 --> 25:41.567
[CHRIS]: I need to be a writer all the show.
25:41.587 --> 25:42.388
[CHRIS]: We talked.
25:42.768 --> 25:45.090
[DEREK]: But this is the first time in six seasons of Shares.
25:45.350 --> 25:46.131
[DEREK]: You've got nothing.
25:46.171 --> 25:46.491
[CHRIS]: Let's see.
25:47.952 --> 25:49.233
[CHRIS]: Much like a broken clock.
25:50.174 --> 25:50.815
[CHRIS]: I can be right.
25:51.215 --> 25:53.137
[CHRIS]: At least twice today.
25:53.357 --> 25:55.799
[CHRIS]: And also, if you fling enough.
25:57.163 --> 26:02.268
[CHRIS]: Fee sees that a wall, some of it will stick, um, I think that's more.
26:02.428 --> 26:14.759
[CHRIS]: Oh, it was, we go for the shotgun approach, subtypes, I'm going to savour this win and forget about all the other losses, actually.
26:14.819 --> 26:20.624
[CHRIS]: I'm very intrigued by so much of this in that.
26:22.570 --> 26:31.289
[CHRIS]: I did actually when we sat in and then we started talking about it, I was like, you're right, they have to spend the time here, they have to give her her
26:33.532 --> 26:59.170
[CHRIS]: her time to power up herself and do that so they do that in the the cage and I was like you're right you're 100% right that's what makes sense I was like you talked me out of it and then I was watch this I was like I got a dirty piece of the dirty piece of the I should stick with guns I'm very good You are you are I think the interesting bit is
27:00.350 --> 27:18.304
[CHRIS]: Um, that Anabathia is powered because I think that is a question, which is means that the parents did just compound via their second kit, um, it doesn't suit like the by the time Anabath was born, uh, project Dessa would have been done.
27:19.660 --> 27:39.074
[CHRIS]: Dr. Gold would have been done, and we learned it in this episode that I had already showed it down, so it looks like that Ameth was just a standard compact V kit, like all the rest of the others, which was the parents were given the baby compact V and some form of pain.
27:40.155 --> 27:41.196
[DEREK]: And that's an odd one, isn't it?
27:41.236 --> 27:48.463
[DEREK]: Because we know that Marie's powers didn't manifest until she became a teenager.
27:49.204 --> 27:53.468
[DEREK]: I went, she had her period, then the blood seemed out and she killed her parents back then.
27:53.568 --> 27:58.693
[DEREK]: So it's odd that her parents would have fed Campan V to their second child.
27:59.882 --> 28:05.948
[DEREK]: having not experienced what all the tests did to Marie in the first place.
28:06.889 --> 28:11.574
[DEREK]: But maybe they didn't know, maybe they didn't know that that was the experimentation that it happened memory.
28:12.350 --> 28:20.119
[CHRIS]: Yeah, they play that very well by going, but we can't ask them now.
28:20.179 --> 28:20.599
[CHRIS]: Can we?
28:20.820 --> 28:21.821
[CHRIS]: Because someone killed them.
28:22.061 --> 28:22.562
[CHRIS]: And I'm like that.
28:23.503 --> 28:24.264
[CHRIS]: Oh, that's a good one.
28:24.544 --> 28:31.372
[CHRIS]: That is a very good one because you then do set up the fracture between the sisters.
28:31.752 --> 28:41.823
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and I think it was a it's still good like even though you do You would think and a Beth would still understand because she's like you can control your parrots Well, exactly.
28:41.943 --> 28:48.130
[DEREK]: I couldn't control why yeah, it's just I suppose and a Beth doesn't have Physically powerful parrots.
28:48.150 --> 28:52.134
[DEREK]: Yes, she had and the fact that she can control it just means that she doesn't get headaches and
28:52.734 --> 28:55.415
[DEREK]: and predict what could be happening in the future.
28:56.255 --> 28:57.095
[DEREK]: That's the only thing.
28:57.155 --> 29:04.877
[DEREK]: So it's probably not as similar as she probably couldn't kill someone by seeing something in the future, but it is massively uncomfortable for it.
29:04.937 --> 29:10.278
[DEREK]: But yeah, it's going to be tough for Marie to pull the silver and back together again.
29:10.298 --> 29:15.879
[DEREK]: There are at least she's attempting to do it, or at least she knows that her sister does her Paris.
29:16.120 --> 29:17.000
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
29:17.720 --> 29:19.780
[DEREK]: One final thing on my meeting moment,
29:22.761 --> 29:29.007
[DEREK]: which has to pay attention because we see her being protected and taken care of by Victoria.
29:29.027 --> 29:31.389
[DEREK]: We saw her being taken away and put into red river.
29:31.429 --> 29:33.291
[DEREK]: We now know that she got pirates from the injection.
29:33.811 --> 29:38.095
[DEREK]: She was given up the company in V. We saw that as well in the boys.
29:38.855 --> 29:42.599
[DEREK]: She's so disconnected though from humanity.
29:42.799 --> 29:44.080
[DEREK]: I found in this episode.
29:44.961 --> 29:46.942
[DEREK]: Like she rips off the head of Vikor.
29:47.703 --> 29:55.407
[DEREK]: leaving his body behind, kind of smiles at her grandfather who brought her there to do is kind of remind him of the kid from the start of Battle Royale.
29:55.447 --> 30:00.589
[DEREK]: I don't know if you've seen that the kid who won Battle Royale covered in blood for bait the next 20 minutes.
30:00.709 --> 30:07.132
[DEREK]: She's perfectly happy with herself covered head to toe in the blood of a vicar until she's has to be told by Stan.
30:07.152 --> 30:12.254
[DEREK]: Maybe you need to go and clean up sweetie and show the other kids to their rooms, you know, and she's like okay, no problem, grandpa.
30:13.035 --> 30:13.615
[DEREK]: But she's
30:14.155 --> 30:30.229
[DEREK]: completely disconnected from reality it seems like a probably seeing her mother briefly murdered did something like that to her and obviously spending time the orphanage did that to her as well but I just wanted to mention that she does seem quite disconnected from humanity as well.
30:30.429 --> 30:30.590
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
30:32.376 --> 30:32.856
[CHRIS]: very much.
30:33.036 --> 30:36.018
[CHRIS]: I think you're right when you see your mother whipped in half.
30:37.459 --> 30:44.824
[CHRIS]: God bless previously on because I was like oh yeah that's how good that scene was.
30:45.025 --> 30:45.945
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
30:45.965 --> 30:55.632
[DEREK]: So sometimes but you know when that happens and you go oh well I guess we're going to get reconnected with those characters because they wouldn't have shown it to us otherwise right?
30:55.712 --> 30:56.813
[DEREK]: But still really good.
30:57.093 --> 30:59.535
[DEREK]: That's Chris what's your immediate moment from the episode?
30:59.955 --> 31:10.838
[CHRIS]: Yes, I want to talk about Sam and Emma, we briefly touched on Emma, talking, being stealing the scenes in the, in the, in the van.
31:10.998 --> 31:11.398
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
31:11.438 --> 31:14.719
[DEREK]: I think, I don't want to go to Canada where you weird strangers.
31:15.060 --> 31:16.000
[DEREK]: It's a different country.
31:16.180 --> 31:16.860
[DEREK]: No, it's not.
31:16.900 --> 31:18.201
[DEREK]: It's Canada.
31:18.241 --> 31:19.001
[DEREK]: Thank God, Emma.
31:19.401 --> 31:22.462
[CHRIS]: They've just given her the best one line.
31:22.742 --> 31:29.484
[DEREK]: She really should stop drinking and go into parties and go into at least a geography class to find out that Canada is a different country, right?
31:32.046 --> 31:33.587
[CHRIS]: I couldn't tell if she was serious or not.
31:33.627 --> 31:36.369
[CHRIS]: That was the even best thing about the character.
31:36.629 --> 31:40.112
[CHRIS]: You're like, wait, does she actually think Canada is part of the U.S.?
31:40.472 --> 31:43.394
[DEREK]: Or in this world has home under Alex Canada.
31:44.075 --> 31:46.356
[CHRIS]: Yeah, exactly.
31:46.456 --> 31:47.317
[CHRIS]: We would have heard that.
31:47.677 --> 31:49.899
[DEREK]: Well, maybe that's something for the star to season five of the boys.
31:51.740 --> 32:07.343
[CHRIS]: Once again, throughout this episode, when they get to the library, seeing these two characters interact, we kind of are starting to remind the viewers about how good they were in season one, playing off each other.
32:07.643 --> 32:07.863
[CHRIS]: Yes.
32:08.303 --> 32:11.484
[CHRIS]: And kind of the two levels of crazy.
32:11.504 --> 32:12.964
[CHRIS]: Do you want to call it that?
32:13.364 --> 32:15.865
[CHRIS]: Crazy fun, and then crazy crazy.
32:17.965 --> 32:18.366
[CHRIS]: Uh, broken.
32:18.486 --> 32:19.186
[CHRIS]: Yes, broken.
32:19.706 --> 32:25.030
[CHRIS]: I just, I even just, like, characters and actors, they, they, they played well together.
32:25.630 --> 32:35.936
[CHRIS]: And then seeing them in this show, this scene, in this episode, for example, when they go looking for the phone and they're, like, on the computer and you get, who's that?
32:36.877 --> 32:37.777
[CHRIS]: Would you want to call that?
32:37.797 --> 32:39.378
[CHRIS]: Do you want to message him as well?
32:39.939 --> 32:41.840
[CHRIS]: I'm just playing off that.
32:42.160 --> 32:43.021
[DEREK]: That's just Greg.
32:43.041 --> 32:43.701
[DEREK]: He's a guy.
32:43.721 --> 32:44.722
[DEREK]: What kind of guy?
32:44.742 --> 32:45.522
[DEREK]: A guy guy?
32:47.383 --> 32:48.083
[CHRIS]: Don't worry about that.
32:48.183 --> 32:48.583
[CHRIS]: Don't worry.
32:49.483 --> 32:50.204
[DEREK]: But I'm as Jim Noob.
32:50.964 --> 32:51.964
[DEREK]: Yeah.
32:52.184 --> 33:00.746
[DEREK]: I also absolutely adored Emma getting the phone and trying to call anybody at all in her phone book and realizing she has no idea of anybody's phone number.
33:01.466 --> 33:06.087
[DEREK]: The closest she gets is an area code for the state where the university is.
33:06.527 --> 33:09.747
[DEREK]: Doesn't even get, doesn't even get there into a number and missing one digit.
33:09.787 --> 33:11.548
[DEREK]: She has no idea of anybody's phone number.
33:11.568 --> 33:13.628
[CHRIS]: There's a four in this.
33:14.148 --> 33:29.150
[DEREK]: Yeah, it's like absolutely no use, you know, and to be honest, she's smarter than I am because I would probably, if I had access to the internet and couldn't remember someone's phone number, I would be gudling the phone number as opposed to going on to my Instagram and sending a sending a DM to somebody to contact them.
33:29.965 --> 33:34.752
[CHRIS]: I was surprised they lived instant, not like Valt network or Valtagram.
33:35.153 --> 33:45.368
[CHRIS]: It was ValtOS, there was a ValtOS and I just loved the interactions with these two characters fast-forwarding to then Edgar Spunker.
33:46.805 --> 33:50.926
[CHRIS]: Sam is more stable.
33:51.366 --> 33:51.566
[DEREK]: Yes.
33:52.206 --> 33:53.446
[CHRIS]: And it's interesting.
33:55.107 --> 33:59.307
[CHRIS]: So we here in the brief 24 hours.
34:00.208 --> 34:03.568
[CHRIS]: Ish, they were in the prison.
34:03.648 --> 34:05.269
[CHRIS]: He has taken some medication.
34:05.669 --> 34:06.989
[CHRIS]: Yes, he's got a new medication.
34:07.149 --> 34:07.849
[CHRIS]: A new medication.
34:08.309 --> 34:11.050
[CHRIS]: It seems to be working a bit more stabilizing him.
34:13.190 --> 34:26.765
[CHRIS]: trying to make a men's and he makes apologies and you do get a very interesting kind of like he would like to rekindle their romance and you do see Emma.
34:29.692 --> 34:32.153
[CHRIS]: She doesn't know initially like, say no.
34:32.553 --> 34:40.136
[CHRIS]: And I think that's the very, she, I talk it as like, she's uncomfortable, she's not how to let him down.
34:40.536 --> 34:46.658
[CHRIS]: But it's not an immediate like, what a hell, get your hands off me.
34:47.358 --> 34:48.719
[DEREK]: I think she understands that he,
34:50.059 --> 35:03.002
[DEREK]: wants to rekindle it doesn't want to break his harsh, but knows there's absolutely no way she can go back with him That's what that's what she seems to be saying and that's he It's like I don't know.
35:03.062 --> 35:08.843
[DEREK]: It's like the the alcoholic that breaks your harsh and then stops drinking for a day and goes Can we get back together baby, you know?
35:08.863 --> 35:17.005
[DEREK]: It's like, well, yeah, okay when we had good times We had good times bush the bad times are way worse and it's only been a day since that's how times have stopped
35:19.826 --> 35:29.691
[DEREK]: Yeah, or a couple of years or maybe you go find someone new and I'll go find someone new because maybe we went we're not right for each other You know, I just interested to see where it goes.
35:30.032 --> 35:34.954
[CHRIS]: I think I Yeah, I Would like to see them back together.
35:34.994 --> 35:37.556
[CHRIS]: He did do something stupid, but he was crazy.
35:37.916 --> 35:38.016
[CHRIS]: So
35:38.660 --> 35:53.808
[DEREK]: Well, yeah, yeah, there's some really interesting points to the conversation, you know, when when he's in the bunker there and he's he's kind of gone could you live in a place like this, you know, this is the the wealthiest person he's probably ever met in his entire life and he's sunk all of his money into an underground bunker that is.
35:54.608 --> 36:14.658
[DEREK]: with a few extra bells and whistles pretty much the same kind of place that Sam has been trapped in for about ten years right on the ground yeah with the with the woods yeah with the with the pictures on the walls and make you think you're outside you know and he's like well what's somebody spend money to be able to be on the ground pretending that they're not on the ground you know that's exactly what happened to me so
36:15.058 --> 36:16.059
[DEREK]: I thought that was really interesting.
36:16.099 --> 36:18.920
[DEREK]: Ferdus, as well, is a German here as a Sam.
36:18.940 --> 36:26.804
[DEREK]: I think his character feels so different than the walker going to excels version of him that we saw with his parents even last episode.
36:26.844 --> 36:30.126
[DEREK]: He feels so much more comfortable and so much more confident.
36:30.466 --> 36:33.087
[DEREK]: Just feels, it does feel like the meds are working.
36:33.128 --> 36:34.648
[DEREK]: But as you say, it's only been a day, Chris.
36:34.908 --> 36:38.590
[DEREK]: It's like, yeah, I don't have that hangover for one day.
36:38.610 --> 36:40.511
[DEREK]: It doesn't carry it, right?
36:41.832 --> 36:43.194
[CHRIS]: but he does get to cool aid man.
36:43.734 --> 36:44.776
[CHRIS]: Yes, that is cool.
36:45.136 --> 36:46.117
[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're friends really well.
36:46.137 --> 36:58.171
[CHRIS]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
37:02.842 --> 37:09.027
[DEREK]: Absolutely, yes, yes, my senior moment for this episode is Polarity and Cypher.
37:09.408 --> 37:21.538
[DEREK]: So last episode or last time we saw Polarity, he was on the floor of his house after destroying the place when he broke down, effectively had another one of his turns.
37:22.139 --> 37:24.381
[DEREK]: And he wakes up to find Cypher in his house.
37:26.142 --> 37:34.353
[DEREK]: Thinking that's the place I've been destroyed by some kind of brawler battle that happened there, but um, but yeah, it's he's Trying to get plalarity on side.
37:34.533 --> 37:44.045
[DEREK]: He's trying to tell him that he now has a Marine if he can get Marie back Marie could cure plalarity because that's how powerful she is which I thought was quite an interesting
37:44.805 --> 37:48.789
[DEREK]: The option being given to Plarity doesn't take it up very well.
37:49.029 --> 37:57.316
[DEREK]: It gets pretty angry at him, but doesn't have as power as back he seems absolutely wrecked to be honest from what happened to him last time.
37:58.597 --> 38:09.367
[DEREK]: But Cypher takes control of him so that he can get the information from the phone call from Harper, which again, so he's in control of Plarity, which is also pretty interesting.
38:10.227 --> 38:33.692
[DEREK]: but he reveals his big plan to him and you know we've been talking about the plans and what exactly is that everybody wants to do we saw sister sage back last week we were we were saying that even though she and Cypher were saying that plan was to troll Marie and then take over from home under and kill homeland or that actually sister sage's plan is never to take down homeland or she's told him she she's on his side and she will keep him in
38:38.773 --> 38:48.342
[DEREK]: get rid of all of the non-god tier supes, all of the supes that don't have powers, that are what he would consider to be massively powerful.
38:49.142 --> 38:59.992
[DEREK]: He'd picked, he'd hand picked, I think it was 10 or 15 students to do the training, and we heard many of them were dropping ice, or were dropped out of the program as he realized they weren't going to be powerful enough for him.
39:00.372 --> 39:04.374
[DEREK]: but he's literally saying he's going to wipe out 75% of the supes asked.
39:04.514 --> 39:20.863
[DEREK]: Yep, good Alkhan University and leave them with only the ones that are powerful and strong enough to live because he doesn't believe in this idea of just because you have superpowers, makes you, which is because you have Paris, it makes you a better, a better human or better than human.
39:21.203 --> 39:23.284
[DEREK]: He believes in this in next level up,
39:27.126 --> 39:30.448
[DEREK]: To me, this is another reason why I think it's still Thomas Kiddolkin.
39:31.428 --> 39:35.610
[DEREK]: That sounds like the Nazi ethos, doesn't it, it sounds a bit like that?
39:35.630 --> 39:41.772
[DEREK]: I've been mentioned that he believes that Marie is going to be one of them.
39:42.433 --> 39:47.655
[DEREK]: That he needs to be in charge of and get rid of everybody that's not the same parallel as her.
39:57.863 --> 40:01.784
[CHRIS]: a kid that was alive and not a, a supe that should be existing.
40:01.864 --> 40:05.424
[DEREK]: Yeah, I had that my notes because that's the guy who was bookchugging beer earlier out in the season.
40:05.944 --> 40:12.486
[CHRIS]: And it's also the same kid we saw when they, they Sam and Jordan were fighting.
40:12.606 --> 40:12.986
[DEREK]: That's right.
40:13.226 --> 40:16.046
[DEREK]: But the guy climbing out from that singularity.
40:16.386 --> 40:18.347
[DEREK]: Yes, much easier to say than the way we said it.
40:19.847 --> 40:21.207
[DEREK]: Yeah, I'm glad we first.
40:21.627 --> 40:21.847
[CHRIS]: Yes.
40:22.367 --> 40:25.488
[DEREK]: And I'm glad that, I'm glad that his super parrot made it all the way up to the Dean of
40:26.648 --> 40:29.809
[CHRIS]: Yeah, this is basically, it's actually in terms of what he could do.
40:29.869 --> 40:38.053
[DEREK]: Can you imagine, like you're filling out your entry form for, uh, for a good alken university and they ask what your super Paris, and that's what you have to write 10 new form.
40:38.453 --> 40:44.596
[CHRIS]: I have a quantum singularity in my I. Can you imagine trying to figure out how you knew about it?
40:44.656 --> 40:45.876
[DEREK]: Well, yeah, yeah.
40:45.936 --> 40:47.877
[CHRIS]: So how did you find out about that power?
40:47.917 --> 40:48.678
[DEREK]: I've lost 15 toilets.
40:50.037 --> 40:50.577
[CHRIS]: Oh, sure.
40:50.597 --> 40:51.658
[CHRIS]: Okay, I didn't go that way.
40:52.178 --> 40:53.699
[CHRIS]: I went completely different way.
40:53.819 --> 40:55.139
[CHRIS]: I thought you're 15 lovers.
40:58.241 --> 41:14.068
[CHRIS]: I think this is definitely an interesting predicament like we get into absolutely yeah because this you're right this sounds more like a
41:16.807 --> 41:23.471
[CHRIS]: Nazi, like what we have seen, and we are linked to Thomas Goodall, can be over a hundred.
41:24.631 --> 41:31.135
[CHRIS]: We've seen his special bunker already, with Cuclux clan, with Nazis.
41:31.715 --> 41:31.915
[MARIE]: Yes.
41:32.495 --> 41:34.096
[CHRIS]: We've seen all these weird costumes.
41:34.336 --> 41:34.516
[MARIE]: Yes.
41:34.857 --> 41:37.538
[CHRIS]: The, the additional memory.
41:37.938 --> 41:38.679
[CHRIS]: It's too much of an
41:46.483 --> 41:47.464
[CHRIS]: nicely wrapped up.
41:47.825 --> 42:01.562
[CHRIS]: I think that again, they may do it because I think everyone still gone, eh, that doesn't put you have heard we do hear these stories about, you can see how they could write that, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh,
42:02.795 --> 42:19.431
[CHRIS]: an abusive Nazi father who abuses his son and his mate his son like his soul goal is to build the next Uber supe and you could see that but the age doesn't work for me.
42:19.771 --> 42:19.911
[DEREK]: Yeah.
42:20.612 --> 42:21.713
[CHRIS]: That's one of the problems.
42:21.953 --> 42:23.374
[DEREK]: Yeah, like Hayme is clever.
42:23.514 --> 42:25.656
[DEREK]: What have to be 57, I think?
42:25.676 --> 42:26.496
[DEREK]: Is that right?
42:26.997 --> 42:28.758
[DEREK]: Roughly, potentially more.
42:29.078 --> 42:31.740
[DEREK]: Because Thomas Goodallken was in the action in 1967.
42:32.521 --> 42:36.384
[DEREK]: So we're roughly 57, 58 years since then.
42:36.484 --> 42:38.165
[DEREK]: So it'd have to be almost 60.
42:38.265 --> 42:40.367
[DEREK]: I don't think Hayme is linked later.
42:40.407 --> 42:40.487
[DEREK]: Is 60.
42:41.270 --> 42:44.794
[DEREK]: No, and again, unless he got his father's jeans, yeah, maybe.
42:45.414 --> 42:53.102
[CHRIS]: Don't put Dawso Godolkin was in his 20s by the looks of the actor initially in the first episode.
42:54.043 --> 42:56.065
[CHRIS]: And let's say late 20s, right?
42:56.566 --> 42:57.667
[CHRIS]: But he's had to be also
42:59.541 --> 43:11.246
[CHRIS]: in the, if that was in the 60s, in the 40s, he would have had to be in an actual scientist for the Nazis.
43:11.646 --> 43:15.508
[CHRIS]: So again, you're like, it just timing wise.
43:15.988 --> 43:17.429
[CHRIS]: So I still think there's something more.
43:17.929 --> 43:20.810
[CHRIS]: I think there is, they're going to do it.
43:21.510 --> 43:25.592
[CHRIS]: It's interesting to see how this plays off with
43:30.473 --> 43:49.733
[CHRIS]: Is homelander of the opinion that like is this a homelander in on this is this get only the most powerful will will only the best of the best Yeah, and is that what we are talking about is sister sage actually doing this with homelander to Produce the next generation.
43:50.094 --> 43:52.116
[CHRIS]: We know homelander thinks his genes are
43:52.996 --> 43:53.457
[CHRIS]: The best.
43:53.497 --> 43:55.739
[CHRIS]: We've seen that with Ryan his son.
43:56.519 --> 44:00.983
[CHRIS]: He believes he is the father of the next generation.
44:02.364 --> 44:04.866
[CHRIS]: Knowing that he is the prodigal or desa.
44:05.286 --> 44:06.848
[CHRIS]: He is the prodigal manipulation.
44:07.368 --> 44:13.793
[CHRIS]: He is the prodigal and the additional experiment outside of just compound V and good look and genes.
44:13.913 --> 44:16.475
[CHRIS]: That's not what we know that there's more to that.
44:18.236 --> 44:27.338
[CHRIS]: It's interesting as we go into the penultimate, because you do, as of right now, we have not been told there is a Gen V season 3.
44:28.078 --> 44:28.938
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
44:29.138 --> 44:33.999
[CHRIS]: As of right now, we are aware that Gen V season 2 finishes.
44:34.780 --> 44:36.620
[CHRIS]: We go into the next season of the boys.
44:37.240 --> 44:37.480
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
44:37.660 --> 44:41.801
[CHRIS]: The only confirmed is the prequel series that's sold away.
44:43.363 --> 44:44.464
[DEREK]: and the Mexican sauce.
44:44.704 --> 44:46.685
[CHRIS]: And the Mexican sauce, yes, yes.
44:47.286 --> 44:53.390
[CHRIS]: But and the right now, one is a prequel Mexican, we assume we'll probably take place after the boys.
44:53.510 --> 44:54.230
[CHRIS]: Maybe.
44:55.011 --> 44:56.072
[CHRIS]: And that's another prequel.
44:56.492 --> 45:04.958
[CHRIS]: So we have to assume right now that this has to be a least somewhat wrapped up.
45:06.881 --> 45:10.063
[CHRIS]: ahead of going into the, the, the, the boys.
45:10.083 --> 45:12.484
[CHRIS]: So you're going to have to close off the majority of it.
45:12.544 --> 45:13.685
[CHRIS]: Maybe in the next two episodes.
45:14.586 --> 45:18.368
[CHRIS]: And I think that is where we do then get next episode.
45:19.865 --> 45:26.807
[CHRIS]: you get more about Cypher's plan and then the finale you get the reveal that it was good looking all along.
45:27.527 --> 45:48.532
[CHRIS]: He was doused in the additional compound V maybe he had already given himself experimental himself something like that and as part of that he was like one of the very first human people giving himself compound V like butcher butcher has that become like a full on monster
45:50.125 --> 45:53.055
[CHRIS]: And in the boys, Kudalkin was one of the first of those.
45:53.336 --> 45:56.347
[CHRIS]: And the other reason we haven't heard more about this is because...
45:58.228 --> 45:59.749
[CHRIS]: he died quote unquote in a fire.
45:59.989 --> 46:00.810
[DEREK]: Yeah, he burned up.
46:01.090 --> 46:01.250
[DEREK]: Yeah.
46:01.410 --> 46:04.792
[CHRIS]: And there's also explains why how he survives a fire.
46:05.933 --> 46:08.274
[CHRIS]: Like he is a bit more indestructible, not completely.
46:08.495 --> 46:09.375
[DEREK]: Yeah, basically.
46:09.655 --> 46:14.398
[DEREK]: Not the greatest of ways to be living for for 60 odd years, right?
46:14.839 --> 46:16.380
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
46:16.920 --> 46:24.545
[CHRIS]: But it's just it's it's it's it's a cool I sense that that's terrible when I say it but it was it's an interesting plan.
46:25.313 --> 46:43.429
[DEREK]: It is, it is absolutely, you know, I love how it ties in, you know, and again, just look back at the four seasons of the boys, there's always an atsy bind somewhere, you know, so it makes sense, it ties into the whole ethos of this entire show that there are still Nazis out there hiding in plain sight, and it would make sense that we have another Nazi here.
46:45.030 --> 46:46.632
[DEREK]: But there was just one of their moments of that,
46:47.609 --> 47:05.639
[DEREK]: whole situation between Cypher and Polarity because Cypher took full control of Polarity's body, as we mentioned, during that phone call, but he is also forcing him to slap himself until Polarity stops him.
47:08.111 --> 47:16.214
[DEREK]: and then push his back and throws Cypher out the window of his heaps of his apartment.
47:16.514 --> 47:27.358
[DEREK]: So Polarity is strong enough to push back against Cypher and throw him out of the heaps and Cypher's gone as well and when Polarity goes out and looks at the window Cypher's gone.
47:27.498 --> 47:30.139
[DEREK]: So it's just interesting that while
47:31.223 --> 47:37.607
[DEREK]: There's this plan revealed that he's going to kill 75% of supes because the top 25 is already once left the most parrot ones.
47:38.127 --> 47:50.894
[DEREK]: Polarity wouldn't necessarily have been considered in that group, but maybe they other thing that was revealed earlier on in the season that everybody can train their parers and if they train them that makes them much stronger, maybe that's what's happened here with Polarity.
47:50.934 --> 47:57.038
[DEREK]: He's now accessed and next tier of his parers by being forced into the situation by Cypher.
47:57.539 --> 48:19.852
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and that is something Cypher talks about like to put people in these stressful situations to force that and we've seen something like this before you and I have discussed this with invincible Another Amazon show where you literally have the character invincible talking about how he has to train and push himself to get harder, better, stronger faster Yeah, and that's what we kind of see here.
48:20.152 --> 48:24.735
[CHRIS]: I think it even more interesting another way of looking at this could also be
48:26.347 --> 48:37.042
[CHRIS]: Cypher has been using his powers too much because if this is good, I'll use Cypher as a puppet and then he's using his puppet to puppet.
48:37.563 --> 48:37.723
[MARIE]: Yep.
48:38.760 --> 48:50.244
[CHRIS]: maybe that kind of it's just a lot of strain on a body, so, and then he's pushing and forcing additionally forcing another, he's poppinning a puppet of a puppet, i.e.
48:50.724 --> 49:04.689
[CHRIS]: Gaudolkin is poppinning cypher, who is also then poppinning polarity, maybe that's a strain, and maybe that's back again, there's another way, it might be a clue, but I do like it's again, more likely is what
49:08.657 --> 49:35.862
[DEREK]: that that ability it there is unlocking additional powers yeah i just kind of love that idea just purely because we're going into that final season of the boys with um hopefully one set of supes up against another set of supes so we could have um maybe all the ones that are being runnish of uh god you lead the nosh god tier supes have a possibility of training themselves up to really stand up to uh homeland or in his team.
49:37.378 --> 49:42.845
[CHRIS]: They briefly flighted with this idea last season with the boys.
49:43.146 --> 49:46.270
[CHRIS]: Yeah, then that starlighter could she learned to fly.
49:47.520 --> 49:50.441
[CHRIS]: and they use that as the big piece at the end.
49:50.802 --> 49:57.665
[CHRIS]: She couldn't fly before, and she was able to expand her powers beyond to a lower to fly.
49:57.765 --> 49:58.265
[DEREK]: That's it, Chris.
49:58.285 --> 50:00.706
[DEREK]: We've found the key to this entire season of GenV.
50:00.746 --> 50:04.348
[DEREK]: It's all about the expansion of Paris for sheep who think they're lower to here.
50:05.168 --> 50:05.789
[DEREK]: What's the problem?
50:05.809 --> 50:07.069
[CHRIS]: We just just don't.
50:07.229 --> 50:08.130
[CHRIS]: We don't need to do anymore.
50:08.770 --> 50:11.952
[DEREK]: And do you have anything else on your major moments, Chris, for this episode?
50:12.112 --> 50:16.193
[CHRIS]: This one, I did want to discuss basically this premise.
50:16.233 --> 50:21.616
[CHRIS]: We talked about a lot of it already, which is that god tier power set that Edgar talks about.
50:22.076 --> 50:30.800
[CHRIS]: So as they go into this discussion, and he's talking to Maria about this, I find it interesting how Maria reacts to this,
50:37.243 --> 50:51.146
[CHRIS]: It does feel I'm going to use the joke of Monty Python, which is he thought the Messiah is a very naughty boy She is rejecting this Messiah piece.
50:51.346 --> 50:52.426
[CHRIS]: She's rejecting this.
50:52.666 --> 50:53.347
[CHRIS]: I am not that.
50:53.507 --> 50:54.427
[CHRIS]: I am not as powerful
50:55.007 --> 50:56.948
[CHRIS]: And I think it's slowly settling in.
50:57.368 --> 51:06.851
[CHRIS]: She, like, Edgar confirms to her with the reports that she was the only other person outside of a home under survived, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
51:08.292 --> 51:13.193
[CHRIS]: All these additional pieces information has kind of confirmed to her.
51:13.754 --> 51:23.077
[CHRIS]: What I find interesting two pieces first is that she denies
51:25.620 --> 51:50.645
[CHRIS]: like I basically I thought that when Kate she asked Kate asked her to fix her I thought she would turn around and go back in I felt like that was the perfect moment to almost bring the two of them back together and bring it back in I was like oh great that's a good now I still think that she's she hasn't said no directly I think the whole thing is the two of them are going to
51:53.150 --> 51:55.491
[CHRIS]: on her way back with Kate.
51:55.911 --> 52:01.774
[CHRIS]: I think that's potentially a kind of how they get round that into the next piece.
52:01.915 --> 52:04.416
[DEREK]: Yeah, I'm not going to say no, Chris, because you're probably right.
52:04.436 --> 52:14.141
[DEREK]: Yeah, just for me, it's just not feeling that I get from Rie is just that she doesn't want to use this exceptional pyro that she has uncovered because
52:14.781 --> 52:19.205
[DEREK]: Every time she does is in the back of her mind, it's like somebody saying Cypher was right.
52:19.385 --> 52:41.185
[DEREK]: You know, that's almost what it's like when you're Interesting when you're okay going can you fix me you you have the parrot to fix me you can sort this all out And she kind of just what turns her back and walks away because she's like oh god, but then Cypher is right and maybe I am this Messiah thing I have to accept that mantle almost that's put on me and that's what that's almost what it feels like because she says that a couple of times in the episode as well
52:41.565 --> 52:44.868
[CHRIS]: What you did and that's going to where I was thinking it was going.
52:45.109 --> 53:00.044
[CHRIS]: I take it that she's heading back to Cypher, to train further, to become the person based on she can be the anti-Homlander because the conversation with Jordan.
53:00.805 --> 53:25.357
[CHRIS]: because she has so vocally up to that point been I'm not this person I am not that I can't do this it's not fair I took it as almost the emo piece of the end where it's like like let's do this right gone and that's why she because if she had a with the conversation with Jordan and the
53:27.278 --> 53:31.321
[CHRIS]: Like, no, if she told Rasmus, she was going back to Cypher to train, to be stronger.
53:32.021 --> 53:34.423
[CHRIS]: They'd all try to stop her and talk her out of it.
53:34.823 --> 53:38.926
[CHRIS]: That's why I kind of go, she's sneaky at her and I'm like, she's not running away again.
53:40.047 --> 53:41.848
[CHRIS]: And I think that's where...
53:43.411 --> 54:01.927
[CHRIS]: They may have set it up and I also then just talk as the Kate which is like I'm going to do but just come on let's go like I'm not it's it's just I think it's going to be We need that training montage We got a deal of montage We do need like she's still not
54:04.327 --> 54:05.227
[CHRIS]: She needs some time.
54:05.267 --> 54:10.369
[CHRIS]: She needs some, like, she still needs that one more scene with time frame.
54:10.669 --> 54:14.430
[CHRIS]: I mean, to pull more out of the character.
54:14.851 --> 54:15.991
[CHRIS]: I think that's the best.
54:17.011 --> 54:18.372
[CHRIS]: I'm waiting for.
54:18.692 --> 54:18.932
[DEREK]: Yeah.
54:19.872 --> 54:21.913
[CHRIS]: I think that's a bit we get next episode.
54:22.193 --> 54:33.397
[DEREK]: Interesting, interesting, because what we learned from Stan, this episode, when he finds out a base, the body that they'd seen potentially being Thomas Cadelkin, he's like, all right, all bets are off now.
54:33.497 --> 54:42.140
[DEREK]: I want you to get inside his head and find out everything at base, all the experiments, because maybe there's another key to taking down homeland, but that we haven't even thought of yet.
54:42.700 --> 54:45.041
[DEREK]: And the way to get to that is through Cypher.
54:45.081 --> 54:50.022
[DEREK]: So yeah, so I just wasn't sure what the actual plan was from Marie, she didn't really say what you're
54:51.843 --> 54:52.843
[DEREK]: Okay, comes up behind her.
54:53.944 --> 55:00.786
[DEREK]: I thought she was just going after Cypher and she was going to force him to tell her and the information that she wants to know basically.
55:01.206 --> 55:03.907
[CHRIS]: Yeah, which is hard because she doesn't have that ability.
55:04.327 --> 55:06.728
[DEREK]: Yeah, but that's exactly the point that Kate's trying to make.
55:06.768 --> 55:08.748
[DEREK]: Give you cure me and fix me.
55:08.788 --> 55:10.269
[DEREK]: Well, I'll be able to get all the information.
55:10.909 --> 55:12.389
[DEREK]: You know, that's her power.
55:12.550 --> 55:13.130
[DEREK]: So yeah.
55:13.650 --> 55:15.090
[DEREK]: That's very interesting.
55:15.130 --> 55:16.951
[DEREK]: But I guess we'll find out next week.
55:17.463 --> 55:17.903
[CHRIS]: We will.
55:17.963 --> 55:20.105
[CHRIS]: Do you have any notes, Derek, for this episode?
55:20.245 --> 55:20.845
[CHRIS]: Do you want to talk about it?
55:21.126 --> 55:23.868
[DEREK]: I just have two lines that I absolutely loved from the episode.
55:24.168 --> 55:32.174
[DEREK]: My first one was Emma, is staying either the fight with Vycore, but being told, you know, look, you're super hero.
55:32.214 --> 55:36.837
[DEREK]: Why don't you go off and use one of your pirates so she, why don't you just grow big and step on them?
55:37.578 --> 55:39.439
[DEREK]: And Emma can't work out how to get there.
55:40.139 --> 55:40.360
[DEREK]: And then
55:41.820 --> 55:53.326
[DEREK]: turns around to case and says, uh, just tell me something nice about me and then I'll be able to get big and Kate just stops and goes like, what am I just instantly tells her to go after herself?
55:53.586 --> 55:56.287
[DEREK]: Um, like, all she needed was just something nice.
55:56.347 --> 55:58.748
[DEREK]: Your hair is nice today or anything at all.
55:59.209 --> 56:01.810
[DEREK]: And Kate can't even think of one nice thing to say to her.
56:02.010 --> 56:02.410
[DEREK]: I lovely.
56:04.291 --> 56:08.493
[DEREK]: My other one that I really liked was that was when they arrived at the bunker and Stan tells
56:09.013 --> 56:14.557
[DEREK]: So we need to take them all off to go and clean up because they must be sick of smelling like that.
56:15.598 --> 56:18.721
[DEREK]: And you see Emma just sniffing her armpits to see if she sticks his butt.
56:19.121 --> 56:21.223
[DEREK]: I just started saying they are like that.
56:21.423 --> 56:22.123
[CHRIS]: No, that was a good one.
56:23.324 --> 56:29.149
[CHRIS]: My only note is if you're a millionaire with a bunker and you only have one screen as a window.
56:29.309 --> 56:30.570
[CHRIS]: Why only eight scenes?
56:31.811 --> 56:33.472
[CHRIS]: I'm not a millionaire billionaire.
56:34.052 --> 56:34.853
[CHRIS]: I don't have a bunker.
56:35.814 --> 56:37.835
[CHRIS]: But my TV has more than eight scenes.
56:39.376 --> 56:40.537
[CHRIS]: Yeah, absolutely.
56:41.398 --> 56:43.459
[CHRIS]: I was like, it just is.
56:43.519 --> 56:44.920
[DEREK]: One for every city of the world, maybe.
56:44.960 --> 56:46.260
[CHRIS]: Yes, something good.
56:47.661 --> 56:48.882
[CHRIS]: It literally do so much more.
56:49.062 --> 56:51.463
[DEREK]: You kind of infinite photographs, scrolling forever.
56:51.924 --> 56:52.084
[CHRIS]: Yes.
56:52.304 --> 56:53.725
[DEREK]: And you don't even need that much money.
56:53.745 --> 56:55.306
[DEREK]: You can do that in like a Google screen.
56:55.646 --> 56:55.806
[CHRIS]: Yep.
56:56.206 --> 56:56.586
[UNKNOWN]: There.
56:56.726 --> 56:58.467
[CHRIS]: It's a weird one.
56:58.788 --> 57:08.153
[CHRIS]: With that aside and another weird conversation, Derek, what is your final thoughts on Jambi season two episode six cooking lessons?
57:08.480 --> 57:09.141
[DEREK]: I like the set set.
57:09.161 --> 57:10.802
[DEREK]: I thought it was a really interesting episode.
57:10.822 --> 57:12.544
[DEREK]: It was a lot to unpack.
57:12.724 --> 57:15.887
[DEREK]: The return of Zoe and Stan Eger was real surprise.
57:15.907 --> 57:17.809
[DEREK]: It was kind of cool to see the two of them back.
57:18.390 --> 57:21.873
[DEREK]: Death of Ikor was a really good, actually very cool to see.
57:22.033 --> 57:27.118
[DEREK]: But overall it was a one that was filled with exposition to get us to the end of the season after episodes like this.
57:27.158 --> 57:29.921
[DEREK]: That's just the nature of telling a story, right?
57:30.461 --> 57:32.003
[DEREK]: We need to set everything up.
57:32.583 --> 57:33.745
[DEREK]: as we get to the end of the season.
57:34.465 --> 57:40.211
[DEREK]: So not my favorite episode of the season, but a great episode of the season of Gen V. How about your self-christ?
57:40.231 --> 57:40.952
[DEREK]: What do you think overall?
57:41.913 --> 57:43.794
[CHRIS]: Yeah, this was a puzzle exposition episode.
57:43.814 --> 57:47.098
[CHRIS]: I think I'm in the exact same boat.
57:47.558 --> 57:56.047
[CHRIS]: If you enjoy breaking down the show, if you enjoy kind of getting into the nitty-critty, I think this episode had a lot for you to kind of
57:58.112 --> 58:24.031
[CHRIS]: Masticate on chew, think about I think for some others it might have felt a bit slow and I think it might have been a bit like I Say that because my partner was a bit like yeah on this episode Because she didn't like she would didn't know as much about Edgar from the last episode Flassey the other show so again she it she was a bit like oh, I don't know in some way this is too big deal, right?
58:24.211 --> 58:25.412
[CHRIS]: Um, so I think
58:26.854 --> 58:48.125
[CHRIS]: It was a good episode, not one of my favorites, not one of the best, but it gave us a lot of, hmm, where are you going to go with this now, you're giving me a lot of information, and it's basically because we've two episodes left, seven and eight, we're going to print what next week, and I'm like, oh, and you have a lot to do, but you still have to,
58:49.225 --> 58:51.866
[CHRIS]: Like the bad guy is just giving away his pantalone person.
58:52.106 --> 58:55.328
[CHRIS]: You got a set up to make fights on the finale and they will.
58:55.588 --> 58:55.948
[DEREK]: They will.
58:55.988 --> 58:56.428
[DEREK]: They will.
58:56.488 --> 58:58.249
[DEREK]: They accomplish a lot with two errors of this show.
58:59.110 --> 58:59.610
[CHRIS]: Exactly.
58:59.690 --> 59:01.411
[CHRIS]: So I'm like, oh, that's good.
59:01.471 --> 59:14.817
[CHRIS]: You put a lot of I tell you in another 20 minutes just setting the chess piece and then we've got a good like 40 to hour 40 destruction level of the finale.
59:16.037 --> 59:17.578
[CHRIS]: So yeah, I really enjoyed it.
59:18.232 --> 59:46.385
[DEREK]: fantastic fantastic let's go for a drink Chris after all a discussion of of the cooking lessons I think we need to pair it with some nice wine or maybe just a beer Dan in the Oracle student union bar yes question six for episode six what is the name of the building where the group hideout before they are found by Stan Edgar this one we talked about a lot so I told you be easy because John isn't here
59:47.415 --> 59:56.883
[CHRIS]: Yeah, as a particular name, if you really want to, if you really want to hint, go back and pause the scene and you'll easily get it.
59:57.824 --> 01:00:02.908
[DEREK]: Not only that, I can't really be glimmering hats and shirts with the name of those on this well, so that's not that difficult.
01:00:03.628 --> 01:00:04.229
[DEREK]: Not great stuff.
01:00:04.289 --> 01:00:05.389
[DEREK]: That's the sixth gross database.
01:00:05.409 --> 01:00:23.420

01:01:26.532 --> 01:01:27.933
[DEREK]: First up, we've got to be a mail-in from Mark.
01:01:28.073 --> 01:01:30.273
[DEREK]: I just a general comment on the show from Mark.
01:01:30.313 --> 01:01:36.494
[DEREK]: He says, gentlemen, the showrunners seems obsessed with showing mail nudity and embarrassing then amused-lating mail, generally.
01:01:36.794 --> 01:01:40.615
[DEREK]: Additionally, 90% of the mail characters are evil, stupid, boarish, weak, or mean.
01:01:41.095 --> 01:01:44.437
[DEREK]: There's never any female nudity even when it would make sense for there to be.
01:01:44.777 --> 01:01:49.481
[DEREK]: Have the showrunners discussed why this is, if so, or if not, why do you think this is so?
01:01:49.861 --> 01:01:55.785
[DEREK]: It cannot just be to even the playing field of female treatment as this is over the top, thanks from Mark.
01:01:56.865 --> 01:01:57.866
[DEREK]: Interesting thoughts there, Mark.
01:01:59.675 --> 01:02:01.616
[DEREK]: I don't think that's actually the case at the show.
01:02:02.476 --> 01:02:08.259
[DEREK]: I think in general, male nudity is shown on TV shows because it's hilarious, with most part.
01:02:09.080 --> 01:02:15.543
[DEREK]: There's no specific embarrassing male and mutilation of male genitalia in the show.
01:02:15.603 --> 01:02:22.567
[DEREK]: I know that we've had moments of that on the show over the last couple of seasons, but it's predominantly just been for the comedy of it.
01:02:23.507 --> 01:02:27.449
[DEREK]: We had that moment where we're Emma walked into the show room with loads of naked men
01:02:29.670 --> 01:02:33.314
[DEREK]: and parasing for men, they were just there and that's how the scene played out.
01:02:33.634 --> 01:02:41.001
[DEREK]: We've had Emma naked because her embarrassing moment is that she's always nude after, after growing or shrinking, because her clothes don't grow or shrink, whether.
01:02:41.982 --> 01:02:43.603
[DEREK]: But the show has never been about titillation.
01:02:43.664 --> 01:02:47.467
[DEREK]: It's not about nudity for the sake of making someone look amazing on screen.
01:02:48.088 --> 01:02:48.989
[DEREK]: The show is the comedy.
01:02:49.549 --> 01:02:52.312
[DEREK]: And yeah, I think that's the way they would, they would usually view it.
01:02:53.273 --> 01:02:59.658
[DEREK]: But maybe it's because, as you say yourself, maybe it's because 99% of every other show that's there that shows nudity.
01:02:59.698 --> 01:03:00.819
[DEREK]: It's only women that are shown.
01:03:01.359 --> 01:03:01.700
[CHRIS]: I agree.
01:03:02.120 --> 01:03:03.441
[CHRIS]: Yep.
01:03:03.661 --> 01:03:04.622
[CHRIS]: I think.
01:03:05.923 --> 01:03:08.406
[CHRIS]: I'm not sure about the evil stupid bush.
01:03:08.866 --> 01:03:09.747
[CHRIS]: Part either, no.
01:03:10.627 --> 01:03:12.329
[CHRIS]: Just my own opinion mark.
01:03:12.769 --> 01:03:13.850
[CHRIS]: Like we have Sam.
01:03:15.351 --> 01:03:16.152
[CHRIS]: Sam is not evil.
01:03:16.472 --> 01:03:16.833
[CHRIS]: Sam is.
01:03:17.493 --> 01:03:18.594
[CHRIS]: Broken in his own words.
01:03:19.214 --> 01:03:40.066
[CHRIS]: He he he made mistakes and I think they're trying to get him We ability you take Jordan Jordan is 50% of the time in male character and I dare not evil stupid Boris week If anything one of the strong with it, it's I right said that Jordan is one of the strongest characters
01:03:41.627 --> 01:03:43.048
[CHRIS]: that you from a power sector perspective.
01:03:43.889 --> 01:04:02.305
[CHRIS]: I think that the difference is like, if in another show, the character of Anna would have been a male, and then that character would have run through doing the exact same scene, but it would have just been flipped, and then the other show would have had to be flipped, and they're not doing this here to even play in field treatment.
01:04:03.046 --> 01:04:03.807
[CHRIS]: I think it's more...
01:04:05.360 --> 01:04:08.181
[CHRIS]: the character of Emma makes sense as a female.
01:04:08.601 --> 01:04:10.382
[CHRIS]: If for this show, which is what it is.
01:04:10.402 --> 01:04:21.047
[CHRIS]: And I think that's why then you would have her, like it wouldn't have been as comedic to have her run through a female locker room.
01:04:21.307 --> 01:04:21.547
[MARIE]: Yeah.
01:04:22.108 --> 01:04:26.189
[CHRIS]: I'll quickly just finalize this, which is, I think it is comedic moments.
01:04:26.970 --> 01:04:33.713
[CHRIS]: We talk about showing Mel and Editi one of the funniest scenes in the show, in this universe.
01:04:34.914 --> 01:04:48.211
[CHRIS]: was one of the first seasons where we saw a tiny, tiny shrinking man, dying into the fetus, for comedic shits and giggles.
01:04:49.593 --> 01:04:49.873
[CHRIS]: And then...
01:04:51.073 --> 01:04:52.455
[CHRIS]: in the first season of this.
01:04:52.635 --> 01:04:56.519
[CHRIS]: We saw a very small Emma doing something similar.
01:04:56.539 --> 01:05:01.144
[CHRIS]: Like, there are a lot of it's done for comedic effect, but telling a story, doing it for the right reasons.
01:05:01.164 --> 01:05:07.210
[CHRIS]: So I don't think, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I
01:05:08.020 --> 01:05:17.925
[CHRIS]: Don't think this is the case in terms of, and there has been female nudity, so I don't think there's never been to definitely has been.
01:05:18.205 --> 01:05:18.606
[DEREK]: Yes, sure.
01:05:18.986 --> 01:05:19.906
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
01:05:20.427 --> 01:05:21.147
[DEREK]: Thanks very much, Mark.
01:05:21.627 --> 01:05:21.767
[DEREK]: Yep.
01:05:22.067 --> 01:05:27.350
[DEREK]: Also, over how to spotify we had a bit of feedback in from Jimmy F who said, his neighbor's polarity not polarists.
01:05:27.530 --> 01:05:33.313
[DEREK]: Also, why has no one seem to realize when sage and cipher were talking that sage said they want to take down home lander?
01:05:33.574 --> 01:05:35.695
[DEREK]: Why am I the only one that seems to notice that?
01:05:36.515 --> 01:05:37.515
[DEREK]: Interesting, Jimmy.
01:05:37.835 --> 01:05:39.516
[DEREK]: I went to last week's episode.
01:05:39.596 --> 01:05:40.396
[DEREK]: I am so sorry.
01:05:40.416 --> 01:05:46.858
[DEREK]: I don't know how it happened whether it was something that we were talking about beforehand or whether Chris was thinking of the Marvel character Polaris.
01:05:46.918 --> 01:05:51.800
[DEREK]: Yeah, through right last week's episode for some reason we were calling the character Polaris as Polaris.
01:05:52.140 --> 01:05:59.062
[DEREK]: Throughout the episode, I think we said it a bit 15 times and it was even last week's question was about Polaris, not about Polaris.
01:05:59.262 --> 01:06:00.562
[DEREK]: So really sorry about that.
01:06:01.183 --> 01:06:01.783
[DEREK]: Sometimes happens.
01:06:02.803 --> 01:06:08.752
[DEREK]: It just goes to show that the show is not hosted by AI, because I would never make that kind of steak.
01:06:10.595 --> 01:06:13.299
[CHRIS]: No, and also we recorded it night, so we're tired.
01:06:13.659 --> 01:06:14.040
[CHRIS]: That's weird.
01:06:14.060 --> 01:06:14.600
[CHRIS]: It's 100% me, I associate
01:06:18.466 --> 01:06:30.854
[CHRIS]: Polaris with magnetism and not magneto so polarity Polaris that's a one I'm currently reading some of the Krakow age right comic books on marvellon limited.
01:06:31.195 --> 01:06:35.237
[CHRIS]: Sorry guys Polaris is in that hey that is 100% in with me
01:06:36.438 --> 01:06:39.740
[DEREK]: But I definitely said it myself about 18 times.
01:06:39.780 --> 01:06:40.641
[DEREK]: You said it last episode.
01:06:40.681 --> 01:06:41.981
[DEREK]: I said it about 10 myself, Chris.
01:06:42.001 --> 01:06:42.782
[DEREK]: So what's next?
01:06:43.122 --> 01:06:44.123
[CHRIS]: Monkey C monkey do.
01:06:44.223 --> 01:06:47.905
[CHRIS]: That's the way to over to your other question, Jimmy.
01:06:48.625 --> 01:06:50.306
[CHRIS]: I think it's as good as we just don't believe such.
01:06:50.606 --> 01:06:50.747
[CHRIS]: Yeah.
01:06:50.947 --> 01:06:56.510
[CHRIS]: Like that's very much like we're saying we knew how close age was in the boys.
01:06:56.990 --> 01:06:57.471
[CHRIS]: We've known.
01:06:58.311 --> 01:07:04.434
[CHRIS]: that I want from her discussions in that last season that she and I close she is.
01:07:04.914 --> 01:07:08.136
[CHRIS]: I believe she's working with home lander by herself.
01:07:08.476 --> 01:07:09.797
[CHRIS]: I don't think she's working with cypher.
01:07:09.877 --> 01:07:11.617
[CHRIS]: I think she may be using cypher.
01:07:11.898 --> 01:07:20.482
[CHRIS]: I just don't believe that she wants to take them homeowner homeowner is her and as she said it herself in the boys, he is her ticket to everything she's ever wanted to do.
01:07:21.102 --> 01:07:22.883
[CHRIS]: And we find out she's never seen
01:07:23.663 --> 01:07:24.705
[DEREK]: Yes, exactly, exactly.
01:07:24.965 --> 01:07:31.834
[DEREK]: I just can't see them doing the same story line with Sister Sage, where she's telling everybody else that she's going to take down online.
01:07:31.874 --> 01:07:36.200
[DEREK]: But actually she's on the side because that was the entire story of the boy season four.
01:07:36.240 --> 01:07:38.203
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah.
01:07:38.243 --> 01:07:38.523
[DEREK]: Great stuff.
01:07:38.543 --> 01:07:39.605
[DEREK]: Thanks so much for your feedback, Jimmy.
01:07:40.092 --> 01:07:41.473
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much for your feedback.
01:07:41.773 --> 01:07:49.900
[DEREK]: A little bit of feedback on last week's episode came in from David Mr. Right should just have to be recorded last week and he says this episode ended before I knew it's finally caught up on all the episodes.
01:07:49.940 --> 01:07:54.083
[DEREK]: So first things first, Cypher Incredible Active for this show, very menacing.
01:07:54.384 --> 01:07:56.685
[DEREK]: It's nice that they've kept Andrea live even in death.
01:07:57.166 --> 01:07:59.208
[DEREK]: He's not just mentioned and forgotten, good on them.
01:07:59.568 --> 01:08:01.249
[DEREK]: As for this episode, very entertaining.
01:08:01.609 --> 01:08:05.212
[DEREK]: I'm trying to figure out what's the end game with Cypher Heismori all tied to this.
01:08:05.493 --> 01:08:06.974
[DEREK]: The ending was such a great Clefanger.
01:08:07.034 --> 01:08:07.855
[DEREK]: I'm still trying to figure out.
01:08:08.535 --> 01:08:09.815
[DEREK]: how she brought her sister back to life.
01:08:10.095 --> 01:08:11.656
[DEREK]: Anyways, looking forward to the podcast.
01:08:13.016 --> 01:08:13.836
[DEREK]: Thanks for that, David.
01:08:14.096 --> 01:08:20.778
[DEREK]: Yeah, we were exactly in that position last week, and I think we're probably still in the position of this week when I'm so exactly sure where everything's going and where it's all set up.
01:08:21.358 --> 01:08:25.259
[DEREK]: To go with Cypher, but a little bit more information at Fed 8 this week in this week's episode.
01:08:25.499 --> 01:08:28.260
[DEREK]: And I'm glad you've caught up, but our joining us for the rest of the episodes for the season.
01:08:28.735 --> 01:08:41.018
[CHRIS]: Next, over on email, we got some in from the one-and-one coffee and vodka who had this to say, greetings fellow defenestrated defenders, putting this up as exhibit A in case for longer seasons.
01:08:41.958 --> 01:08:51.480
[CHRIS]: It was nice to see the kids freed, sisters reunited, the gang back together, Stan and Zoe, and to get a few answers, particularly learning part of Cyprus Grand plan.
01:08:52.340 --> 01:08:57.001
[CHRIS]: So much of this, however, was spent on telling in one episode what could have been shown in
01:08:58.381 --> 01:09:04.985
[CHRIS]: The only evidence I was watching a gen V episode will seem... ...Vycore's head be turned into hamburger.
01:09:05.646 --> 01:09:10.869
[CHRIS]: Otherwise, this was much a daytime soap opera, as it was a nighttime mature viewing experience.
01:09:11.649 --> 01:09:13.570
[CHRIS]: Still, of high production quality.
01:09:13.750 --> 01:09:15.692
[CHRIS]: And again, always great to see Mr. Edgar.
01:09:15.712 --> 01:09:22.956
[CHRIS]: 3.5, meet puppet magnitos, cold cadets, and endless exposition out of 5.
01:09:23.456 --> 01:09:24.857
[CHRIS]: Peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
01:09:26.370 --> 01:09:29.973
[CHRIS]: Thanks coffee vodka, um, I agree.
01:09:30.613 --> 01:09:31.213
[CHRIS]: We talked about that.
01:09:31.233 --> 01:09:33.775
[CHRIS]: It was the exposition heavy episode.
01:09:34.596 --> 01:09:42.041
[CHRIS]: I was big proponent of longer seasons in any of my over the years.
01:09:42.141 --> 01:09:46.424
[CHRIS]: I've been the one saying, oh, this should have been a 10 episode season or we need more.
01:09:46.464 --> 01:09:48.686
[CHRIS]: They could have extended this at, I think,
01:09:50.507 --> 01:09:51.969
[CHRIS]: Very much so there talent.
01:09:52.449 --> 01:09:54.791
[CHRIS]: I will wait until the next two episodes or eggs.
01:09:55.051 --> 01:10:18.811
[CHRIS]: Yeah until I kind of piece this out I didn't feel rushed This one thing I'll say about this episode didn't feel rushed in terms of some of the other shows where we watch where we get those Buzzle-like position episodes where it's literally character comes in and just Delivers the the the the mood glove in and all the exposition and everything they need and then it can
01:10:20.185 --> 01:10:22.207
[CHRIS]: That's not what happened I feel in this.
01:10:22.528 --> 01:10:23.209
[DEREK]: Like, stand out here.
01:10:24.090 --> 01:10:26.292
[CHRIS]: No, because... Hey, kids, sit down there.
01:10:26.392 --> 01:10:27.353
[DEREK]: I have a cooking lesson.
01:10:27.373 --> 01:10:32.679
[DEREK]: Sit down there while I tell you everything that happened off-screen that you need to know about to get you into the final battle.
01:10:32.900 --> 01:10:33.460
[CHRIS]: Okay, yeah.
01:10:33.581 --> 01:10:34.341
[CHRIS]: Okay, yeah.
01:10:34.381 --> 01:10:37.245
[CHRIS]: Maybe literally she'll prove coughing vodka's point.
01:10:37.565 --> 01:10:39.827
[DEREK]: Yeah, I think coffee vuck is right here.
01:10:40.207 --> 01:10:40.827
[DEREK]: It's a great show.
01:10:40.888 --> 01:10:42.048
[DEREK]: I really enjoyed watching it.
01:10:42.168 --> 01:10:47.412
[DEREK]: It's absolutely right, but this is an episode that now needs to happen when you have an eight episode season of a show.
01:10:48.513 --> 01:10:56.399
[DEREK]: There's a lot of people joke about the fact that creators and and show winners for shows talk about their their TV show is being a movie every week.
01:10:57.660 --> 01:11:05.189
[DEREK]: It's not a movie every week because you wouldn't have a movie that stopped for a entire era to have someone sit down and tell you what's going to happen or what did happen off-screen.
01:11:06.070 --> 01:11:07.011
[DEREK]: This is that episode.
01:11:07.272 --> 01:11:09.915
[DEREK]: It has to happen if you're just gonna have a short episode season.
01:11:10.475 --> 01:11:13.079
[DEREK]: There were some fun bits in here, did enjoy the episode.
01:11:13.519 --> 01:11:18.043
[DEREK]: And as I say, it's necessary, so I'm never going to say, don't give us that episode.
01:11:18.243 --> 01:11:24.328
[DEREK]: Can you imagine just jumping from episode five to episode seven without having all this exposition, you know, that would also be really weird.
01:11:25.048 --> 01:11:31.774
[DEREK]: But I wish there was a little bit more propulsion actually in the episode rather than add those conversations because it was on one side.
01:11:32.094 --> 01:11:39.280
[DEREK]: Stan Agre sitting down with our group and on the other side, Cypher sitting down with polarity telling him the other side of the conversation and it was just
01:11:39.600 --> 01:11:44.443
[DEREK]: two conversations basically enter section and cutting back and forth between each other for the episode.
01:11:44.803 --> 01:11:46.744
[CHRIS]: So there's a lot of gore with a bit of gore.
01:11:46.844 --> 01:11:47.744
[DEREK]: Yes, it's a good one.
01:11:47.784 --> 01:11:48.925
[CHRIS]: That's usual.
01:11:50.448 --> 01:11:53.211
[DEREK]: Thanks so much for your thoughts and I'll see you in the next video!
01:12:10.227 --> 01:12:13.728
[DEREK]: Any time you mention Victoria Newman, I feel the pain of her loss all over again.
01:12:14.088 --> 01:12:20.390
[DEREK]: It's good to see Zoe again, though, and even cooler to see her real personality, which is something that we didn't get a chance to see on the boys season four.
01:12:20.770 --> 01:12:28.112
[DEREK]: And now I'm going to have to remember this actress and keep track of anything that she shows up in, going forward because she's a pretty good actress, and did well in the scenes she was in.
01:12:28.572 --> 01:12:35.334
[DEREK]: She and Carla Aspazizo returned an epic fashion as Mr. Stan Edgar to bring the presence on the authority that I've really been missing in this show.
01:12:35.814 --> 01:12:47.384
[DEREK]: It's even more hilarious how much over their heads the gen V crew has compared to the boys who were largely and over their heads all from on the back of the bush when it came to fight in the forces of Vaught, but we're dealing with a whole other degree of problems.
01:12:47.845 --> 01:13:02.578
[DEREK]: I think that is important to how almost everyone is using Marie to an extent in this almost arms race when it comes to her abilities from Vaught to Cypher to Stan Eggher because he uses everyone in some way to star-lice because she was the one who to initially ask her to look into Odessa.
01:13:02.998 --> 01:13:15.907
[DEREK]: There wasn't a lot of MN this episode, but what we did get was still spectacular, such as the Canada line that she says they're escaping Amara later to the exchange that she has with case, say something nice about me, like what, that absolutely killed me.
01:13:16.307 --> 01:13:25.334
[DEREK]: The scene between her and Sam was pretty, although I think that the story that's being told with these two characters separate is far more intriguing than the one having these two getting back together.
01:13:26.538 --> 01:13:36.005
[DEREK]: I'm interested that a dynamic between Marie and Annabeth and despite the new status Crow that her life is forced to be in, maybe she'll make the most of it, and perhaps there can be a reconciliation between her and her sister.
01:13:36.365 --> 01:13:42.890
[DEREK]: Her powers are almost significant as well, precognition, which is always a unique ability when they're introduced in a story.
01:13:43.310 --> 01:13:46.052
[DEREK]: Also, did you guys talk that look that Annabeth gave case?
01:13:46.353 --> 01:13:49.475
[DEREK]: It has been wondering if she may have seen the ending of the episode in advance.
01:13:50.256 --> 01:13:52.858
[DEREK]: Speaking of the ending, I think Marie leaving may...
01:13:53.618 --> 01:13:57.081
[DEREK]: Maybe her way of protecting her friends being targeted by Cypher.
01:13:57.642 --> 01:14:03.987
[DEREK]: Case in Marie leaving at the end does have interesting promises a team-up, two halves of a whole powerhouse, the body and the mind.
01:14:04.387 --> 01:14:07.310
[DEREK]: I guess we're going to have to wait until next week to see how it all turns out.
01:14:08.491 --> 01:14:15.197
[DEREK]: 3.5 decapitated vikors, collayed man entrances, exposition via cooking lessons, and polarity de-fenestrations,
01:14:19.945 --> 01:14:21.806
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much, Meryl.
01:14:23.926 --> 01:14:24.507
[CHRIS]: Interesting.
01:14:24.647 --> 01:14:29.128
[CHRIS]: I never, I did not clock the anobeth look to Kate, but now you said it.
01:14:29.188 --> 01:14:30.689
[CHRIS]: I'm like, oh, maybe.
01:14:30.709 --> 01:14:32.889
[CHRIS]: Because she talked to me, how she just got feelings.
01:14:33.650 --> 01:14:36.811
[CHRIS]: She, she kind of like her power, her pre-cock is a lot of feelings.
01:14:37.331 --> 01:14:38.531
[CHRIS]: So could be interesting.
01:14:38.551 --> 01:14:39.432
[CHRIS]: That could she could have.
01:14:40.652 --> 01:14:47.897
[CHRIS]: been clocking that and that's what we got in the next episodes and the better we'll say okay it's gone with Marie.
01:14:49.578 --> 01:14:52.139
[CHRIS]: Very interesting to think about two two halves.
01:14:53.560 --> 01:15:07.109
[CHRIS]: I do think Marie fixes case and I think that's one of the the pieces we see next episode by still think Marie as herself is the whole powerhouse and Kate is going to be collateral damage
01:15:10.913 --> 01:15:17.194
[DEREK]: Thanks so much, Marvel, for your feedback, and we did get a little bit more feedback in after I self-acrisse finished recording, and we'll go on to that now.
01:15:17.635 --> 01:15:30.378
[DEREK]: At first up, Dr. Bob Phillips says they didn't zig, they didn't zig, they just bulldozed through dilemmas with a man of steel and a woman of franjeele snakes, superbly in-story, short cutting to push us more rapidly to a finale than any other show could manage.
01:15:30.798 --> 01:15:36.839
[DEREK]: Very much appreciated the return of Evil Agustan, cracking expansive library talks, and a sliver
01:15:40.840 --> 01:15:41.360
[DEREK]: against him.
01:15:42.281 --> 01:15:43.121
[DEREK]: Very good, Dr. Bob.
01:15:43.161 --> 01:15:47.723
[DEREK]: Yeah, it really did bulldoze through any of those problems just to crack on with the story.
01:15:48.644 --> 01:15:54.187
[DEREK]: So this is all about the exposition, all about moving us towards that finale in just two weeks time.
01:15:54.227 --> 01:15:54.867
[DEREK]: So great stuff.
01:15:55.247 --> 01:15:55.848
[DEREK]: Thanks, Dr. Bob.
01:15:56.328 --> 01:15:59.449
[DEREK]: And finally, David Mr. writer says, okay, so I enjoyed this episode.
01:15:59.529 --> 01:16:00.350
[DEREK]: Fun twists and turns.
01:16:00.550 --> 01:16:07.736
[DEREK]: But something felt off, the chemistry with everyone was off, and didn't feel the connection between the arena and our sister, there's no chemistry between the actors.
01:16:08.096 --> 01:16:13.541
[DEREK]: We saw a poor Sam get de-hulped by Vikor with ease and then Vikor allies himself to get shredded with ease.
01:16:13.861 --> 01:16:18.165
[DEREK]: The chemistry between Sam and Emma was awkward and an uncomfortable way, especially when he's apologizing.
01:16:18.465 --> 01:16:21.808
[DEREK]: But more creepy than fun, old, awkward Sam and Emma from season 1.
01:16:22.448 --> 01:16:26.112
[DEREK]: Yeah, I understand there's obvious tension, but it just felt uncomfortable to watch.
01:16:26.432 --> 01:16:27.734
[DEREK]: I wasn't rooting for it to happen.
01:16:28.094 --> 01:16:32.578
[DEREK]: So we was too bubbly that it was off-putting how positive a high energy she was.
01:16:33.059 --> 01:16:35.241
[DEREK]: I know I'm being extremely picky here guys.
01:16:35.621 --> 01:16:37.343
[DEREK]: Side note her pair is messy.
01:16:37.423 --> 01:16:40.747
[DEREK]: Every time she has to use it she needs an instant shower and wardrobe change.
01:16:41.207 --> 01:16:45.789
[DEREK]: The whole cipher and polarity scene was just weird and almost unnecessary.
01:16:46.009 --> 01:16:55.613
[DEREK]: Also Plothole, Edgar has a huge high rate super secure size, but no alarm goes off and Marie can just waltz on either there without a peep or sand or motion sensor like going off.
01:16:56.333 --> 01:17:03.019
[DEREK]: Overall, I enjoyed it, but the episode just seemed all over the place in very disorganized and took way too many drastic turns.
01:17:03.619 --> 01:17:05.761
[DEREK]: Thanks David for your thoughts on the episode.
01:17:06.202 --> 01:17:09.965
[DEREK]: It's a really good point about Maria Skipping with absolutely no alarm going on.
01:17:10.005 --> 01:17:15.209
[DEREK]: You would think that there would be some kind of security, at least on the lift or the elevator to get her out.
01:17:15.770 --> 01:17:16.350
[DEREK]: That she would need to...
01:17:17.511 --> 01:17:23.494
[DEREK]: Popping a code or something, because it is a pretty secure base, you would think, unless she had a discussion with Stan before she left.
01:17:24.034 --> 01:17:29.596
[DEREK]: And that he knows that she's going or something like that, maybe maybe that's something we'll find out in the next episode, but I'm not sure.
01:17:30.396 --> 01:17:32.997
[DEREK]: Maybe he just let her go, because he knows what her plan is.
01:17:33.558 --> 01:17:40.320
[DEREK]: And after the episode itself, yeah, you heard her thoughts there, that it is much more about the exposition that was in there.
01:17:40.860 --> 01:17:43.782
[DEREK]: I think there's understandable reasons why
01:17:45.042 --> 01:17:46.843
[DEREK]: Sam and Emma are awkward with each other.
01:17:47.283 --> 01:17:50.344
[DEREK]: I don't think it was a meq, I don't think it was a will they won't they?
01:17:50.385 --> 01:17:58.088
[DEREK]: I know Chris is a bit more on that side, but I think this was supposed to be awkward for Emma particularly that she's going on.
01:17:58.128 --> 01:18:03.451
[DEREK]: No, this guy thinks he's going to get back with me again, but you know we'll see how that'll play out as the season goes on.
01:18:03.811 --> 01:18:09.093
[DEREK]: I was wondering about that fight scene between Vikor and Sam when he's left on his own in the library.
01:18:09.113 --> 01:18:09.533
[DEREK]: He's literally
01:18:11.274 --> 01:18:31.294
[DEREK]: a whole set of books and falls to the grand stands back up again and Jordan goes have he got this sound when he goes yes sure as if it's going to be easy for him to fight against Vikor put Vikor it already beaten him to the grand a couple of times so thought that was a bit surprising but he did hold him off for another couple of seconds before Vikor lost his head as well.
01:18:31.694 --> 01:18:35.698
[DEREK]: but thanks so much for your thoughts David, hopefully we'll hear from you again after next week's episode.
01:18:35.838 --> 01:18:37.600
[DEREK]: Thanks so much everybody for your feedback.
01:18:37.700 --> 01:18:39.762
[DEREK]: Keep sending it into us over the rest of the season.
01:18:39.782 --> 01:18:40.943
[DEREK]: We've got two more episodes to go.
01:18:41.723 --> 01:18:44.946
[DEREK]: And we'll be back of course next week with Gen V season two episode six.
01:18:46.007 --> 01:18:48.189
[CHRIS]: Yes, we'll be back with that episode.
01:18:48.510 --> 01:18:57.238
[CHRIS]: So keep watching, keep listening and keep your head free from little Newman Worms exploding it.
01:18:58.818 --> 01:19:00.739
[CHRIS]: Please, because we'd like you to hear it.
01:19:01.399 --> 01:19:11.305
[CHRIS]: If you have Neuman worms going in and out of your head, you're not going to be able to listen to our dulcet tones.
[CHRIS]: Bye
[DEREK]: Bye
