Episode Synopsis:
Jessica Jones confronts Mr Charles about the attack on her house and learns that Luke Cage, the super-powered father of her daughter Danielle, is working overseas. He reminds Jessica that he is her only contact point for Luke but Mr Charles reveals that Fisk intends to kill Governor McCaffrey before she takes away his power, and Jessica warns Matt Murdock.
In police detention, Karen Page is visited by Mayor Fisk but he chooses to punish her to the full extent of the law. With the help of Chief of Detectives Brett Mahoney, Matt Murdock also visits Karen to share his plan.
In court Matt comes out of hiding to serve as Page's legal counsel alongside Kirsten McDuffie. At her televised trial, they attack the AVTF's integrity and their increasing violence.
When court is adjourned for the day AVTF officers attack Matt Murdock and Kirstin McDuffie as they attempt to leave the court under the protection of their NYPD allies and Detectives Cherry and Kim but Matt is wounded in the attack.
Later Heather Glenn visits Karen Page under the cover of evaluating her sanity for the DAs office. But the tense conversation between the two leads to the unstable psychologist attacking Karen when she suggests she pities her.
Meanwhile Bullseye, who was released by Matt to do the good deed that he promised, thwarts the assassination attempt on Governor McCaffrey. Happily leaving before the NYPD arrives.
Elsewhere Daniel Blake holds BB Urich captive and nearly hands her to Buck Cashman, but at the last moment he has a change of heart and allows her to escape. Angered by this turn, Buck brutally tortures Daniel, who refuses to give up BB's location, and is murdered for his silence.

02:52 --> 02:53 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
02:53 --> 03:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Derek, shall we get into our spoiler-filled discussion course for this episode episode 7 of Daredevilball and again the hateful darkness who gave us what we're when and how
03:07 --> 03:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this episode was written by Heather Belsen, that's the second episode of the season, she also wrote Season 2, episode three as well.
03:13 --> 03:16 [SPEAKER_02]: So, an old hand, dare devil suffer.
03:17 --> 03:20 [SPEAKER_02]: And the episode is directed by Ian B. McDonald's.
03:20 --> 03:25 [SPEAKER_02]: He's directed the last two episodes that this season, he's directed loads, great shows over the year, including poker face.
03:25 --> 03:28 [SPEAKER_02]: And he's been a second unit director for this season of Daredevil.
03:28 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Interestingly, he also directed Season 2, episode four of the ponesture on Netflix.
03:33 --> 03:38 [SPEAKER_02]: a dabhand at this particular character set of Marvel as well, so that's got to cool.
03:38 --> 03:39 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, good stuff.
03:39 --> 03:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'd seem to recall in B McDonald's as well on the Punisher, so yeah, I can see a pedigree through this episode as well.
03:50 --> 03:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, well John, do you want to tell us what they gave us with your synopsis for this episode of Daredevil Born Again, the hateful darkness?
03:58 --> 04:09 [SPEAKER_04]: Sure, Jessica Jones confronts Mr. Charles about the attack on her house and learns that Luke Cage, the super-powered father of her daughter Danielle, is working overseas.
04:09 --> 04:21 [SPEAKER_04]: He reminds Jessica that he is her only contact point for Luke, where Mr. Charles reveals that Fisk intends to kill Governor McAfrey before she takes away his power and Jessica warns Matt Murdoch.
04:22 --> 04:29 [SPEAKER_04]: In police detention, Karen Page is visited by Merfisk, but he chooses to punish her to the full extent of the law.
04:29 --> 04:36 [SPEAKER_04]: the help of Chief of Detectives Brett Mahoney, Matt Murdock also visits Karen to share his plan.
04:36 --> 04:49 [SPEAKER_04]: In court, Matt comes out of hiding to serve as pages legal counsel alongside Kirsten McDuffy, and a televised trial there attacked the AVTS integrity and their increasing violence.
04:49 --> 05:04 [SPEAKER_04]: When courses are adjourned for the day, AVTF officers attack Matt Murdoch and Kirsten McDuffy as they attempt to leave the court under the protection of their NYPD allies and detectives, Cherry and Kim, but matters wounded in the attack.
05:04 --> 05:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Later, had the Glenn visits Karen Page under the cover of evaluating her sanity for the DA's office.
05:11 --> 05:17 [SPEAKER_04]: But the tense conversation between the two leads to the unstable psychologist attacking Karen.
05:17 --> 05:20 [SPEAKER_04]: After she suggests she pisses her.
05:20 --> 05:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Meanwhile, Bullseye, who was released by Matt to do the good deed that he promised, thwarts the assassination attempt on Governor McCaffrey, happily leaving before the MIPD arrives.
05:32 --> 05:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Elsewhere, Daniel Blake holds BB or it captive a nearly hand-seater book castron, but at the last moment, he has a change of heart and allows her to escape, and goodbye this turn, book brutally torches Daniel, who refuses to give up BB's location and
05:50 --> 05:53 [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh brutal end to this episode.
05:54 --> 05:55 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, big time.
05:55 --> 06:09 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was not expecting that one It's like the tater that you shared that absolutely was yeah as as the tension was rising in those last scenes building up to the end of the episode I was really feeling especially the second time watch it actually.
06:10 --> 06:16 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, no, it was it was really tense And then all of the sort of my felt the need for a hot dog
06:16 --> 06:33 [SPEAKER_02]: you know, you're always in need for a hot dog, but interested in this but a story that came out this week, because the actually plays Daniel and Michael Gunnell, who was interviewed on the official podcast, where he was saying that they actually did film some scenes with him for episode eight of the season.
06:34 --> 06:38 [SPEAKER_02]: But those scenes were incidental, they were just kind of background scenes and it was kind of gone, this is the finale of the season.
06:38 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Why am I, why am I seeing so incidental here?
06:42 --> 06:44 [SPEAKER_02]: And it turns out they actually filmed just two different ways.
06:44 --> 06:45 [SPEAKER_02]: They filmed
06:45 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_02]: point to the gun and walked away and then they added in the CGI death.
06:49 --> 06:53 [SPEAKER_02]: The CGI bullet that you would that you would use to kill off Daniel.
06:53 --> 06:59 [SPEAKER_02]: So, in fact, by the end of the season, Michael Gandalfini wasn't sure whether his character had lived or died.
07:00 --> 07:01 [SPEAKER_02]: That's interesting.
07:01 --> 07:15 [SPEAKER_02]: So, the actress who played BB when she was going into recorder lines for the AD or the post-production recording where they filmed their lines, she was told in the
07:15 --> 07:16 [SPEAKER_02]: and she bursted to tears.
07:16 --> 07:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay, interesting, yeah.
07:18 --> 07:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Really interesting.
07:19 --> 07:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Where you start?
07:20 --> 07:23 [SPEAKER_02]: But there you go, yes, that's the behind-the-scenes story from the week.
07:24 --> 07:30 [SPEAKER_02]: We will talk about all of that at all the moments from the episode in our case notes, but let's kick us in to case note number one.
07:31 --> 07:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Order, order.
07:32 --> 07:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Time for the defense to present their evidence.
07:36 --> 07:52 [SPEAKER_02]: Man, if I wasn't so lazy and didn't have an actual job outside of podcasting down, I would have replaced all of these with the actual ones that were used in the courtroom scenes in this episode, but I didn't, we still have to put up with my, well, and with the voice doing our case notes for each of the episodes.
07:52 --> 07:57 [SPEAKER_02]: And the first one here, let's talk about Jessica Jones, and her return in this episode.
07:57 --> 08:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Apparently because a buncher with her anybody was expecting, she was going to come back.
08:01 --> 08:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Including ourselves, we're complaining about how much was revealed about her appearance in last week's episode.
08:07 --> 08:11 [SPEAKER_02]: And here we have her appearing in the room with Mr. Charles.
08:12 --> 08:17 [SPEAKER_02]: And effectively threatening to kill him if he ever comes anywhere near her house or Danielle ever again.
08:17 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, I mean, quite rightly, really.
08:19 --> 08:26 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, in that sense, I found Mr. Charles's explanation, while they weren't there to kill you.
08:27 --> 08:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Literally a live grenade came through to the windows.
08:32 --> 08:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that fell off when Jessica points that guy in the face.
08:35 --> 08:35 [SPEAKER_02]: exactly.
08:35 --> 08:38 [SPEAKER_04]: So I mean they came very heavily armed.
08:39 --> 08:42 [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah his explanation was a little thin.
08:43 --> 08:46 [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah we have this meeting of Jess.
08:46 --> 08:49 [SPEAKER_04]: So it's great to have Jessica Jones back here.
08:49 --> 08:53 [SPEAKER_04]: We have a little bit more with her as well, but she is
08:53 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_04]: Effectively being told here by Mr. Charles that yes, he was involved with Wilson Fisk, but that he's not involved anymore.
09:02 --> 09:08 [SPEAKER_04]: And also does let drop that and suggest that Wilson Fisk will be looking
09:08 --> 09:17 [SPEAKER_04]: to coordinate an attack on the government because he knows what he senses that she will be about to move against him.
09:18 --> 09:32 [SPEAKER_04]: So all of this is kind of interesting and sort of peppered in here is a little reference to Luke Cage and that he is the only one that can effectively connect her with Luke and who's doing the Lord's work overseas.
09:32 --> 09:37 [SPEAKER_04]: I think just where you describe
09:37 --> 09:38 [SPEAKER_04]: I guess so.
09:39 --> 09:43 [SPEAKER_04]: But again, trying to in a sense make him a little bit indispensable.
09:43 --> 09:47 [SPEAKER_04]: He's a little nervous in the presence of Jessica Jones.
09:47 --> 09:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
09:48 --> 09:52 [SPEAKER_02]: And he quite specifically says he regrets the decision to send the people around to her house.
09:52 --> 09:59 [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not sure, you know, in the in the explanation, I was going back and forth in the way that Mr. Charles talks to Jess about this.
09:59 --> 10:05 [SPEAKER_02]: It sends a little bit like he sent in the guys to take at Jess while he was
10:05 --> 10:07 [SPEAKER_02]: And now he really regrets that.
10:07 --> 10:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Not only is because she's alive, but also because he's turned on Fisk and wants to take Fisk out, you know.
10:13 --> 10:16 [SPEAKER_02]: It sounds like oh god, I've been costs really badly by you here.
10:17 --> 10:21 [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't even agree with the reasons for sending them in to take you out there.
10:21 --> 10:23 [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it's added like to be clear.
10:23 --> 10:28 [SPEAKER_02]: But interestingly, they mentioned the Paris shoes again with Jessica, where he
10:28 --> 10:30 [SPEAKER_02]: even though he's scared of her says, well, I'm not too sure.
10:30 --> 10:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he can't take me out because I've heard of the have parrot issues.
10:33 --> 10:40 [SPEAKER_02]: So, um, and as you say, mentions about Luke being a broad and him being the only conduit between the two of them.
10:40 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_02]: So we talked about that last episode about potentially heroes for higher and outworking as part of the new Avengers or hers of the, well, I guess that's the new name for Thunderbolt.
10:48 --> 10:49 [SPEAKER_02]: So I've the new Avengers.
10:49 --> 10:49 [SPEAKER_02]: So, uh,
10:49 --> 11:09 [SPEAKER_02]: So I wonder if that's what's happened there and I wonder why he is the only person that can get messages to Luke Why is Luke being blocked off from talk to Jessica did they Pressure him into joining saying Jessica would be safe if he went to work for the new Avengers Yeah, possibly there's something sort of in the history there.
11:09 --> 11:15 [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, it's not entirely clear and it would feel strange if
11:15 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_04]: the cage had no agency, but equally we've seen Val in Thunderbolts, she could easily be manipulating him in a different form, exactly.
11:27 --> 11:34 [SPEAKER_04]: Then we think so this it could be doing the Lord's work, but with a gun pointed to his head, with some form of coercion.
11:34 --> 11:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
11:35 --> 11:37 [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, it's kind of interesting.
11:37 --> 11:48 [SPEAKER_04]: It certainly feels like it lays a little bit of groundwork around some wider and larger MCU sort of going on, which is really nice.
11:48 --> 12:03 [SPEAKER_04]: And whether we'll see it in this season of Daredevil, don't know, but I mean, it's been really good having the former Netflix defenders back in the show and it would be nice to get.
12:03 --> 12:10 [SPEAKER_04]: the likes of Luke Cage in here, along with Jessica and Iron Fist.
12:10 --> 12:14 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it would be a really good way of bringing them back together.
12:14 --> 12:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I'm like I may even question, given that we're going to be seeing the new Avengers in Doomsday, we're going to be seeing them reappear.
12:20 --> 12:26 [SPEAKER_02]: That's what came up on the screen at the end of the Thunderbolts movie.
12:27 --> 12:28 [SPEAKER_02]: I
12:28 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_02]: It makes me suspect, will we see Luke Cage onscreen in Tuesday?
12:31 --> 12:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Is this setting up some kind of connection as to why Luke Cage is there?
12:35 --> 12:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Will we see them there?
12:36 --> 12:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Is this the story for Daredevil season three?
12:38 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Or potentially the new Jessica Jones show that's coming in the future?
12:41 --> 12:52 [SPEAKER_02]: The reason why I'm saying it is because we called out the boys last week for really focusing on a TV show that's coming in another year's time instead of focusing on their episode and instead of focusing on their season.
12:53 --> 12:57 [SPEAKER_02]: So here, there's lots of threads that are dangling around Jessica Jones appearing
12:57 --> 13:02 [SPEAKER_02]: It could be resolved and doomsday could be resolved in Daredevil season 3 or maybe in a Jessica Jones show in the future.
13:02 --> 13:07 [SPEAKER_02]: So I know there's lots to talk about why Jessica has this loss of power.
13:07 --> 13:08 [SPEAKER_02]: We don't know yet.
13:08 --> 13:09 [SPEAKER_02]: It's not their own screen.
13:09 --> 13:10 [SPEAKER_02]: It's not detailed.
13:10 --> 13:15 [SPEAKER_02]: So I wonder if that's going to be explored as her working out why she's lost her powers.
13:15 --> 13:20 [SPEAKER_02]: And that goes into a full arc of a season of Daredevil or her own show in the future.
13:20 --> 13:24 [SPEAKER_02]: That would be kind of cool to lay the groundwork here and then investigate that in the future.
13:24 --> 13:26 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely.
13:26 --> 13:44 [SPEAKER_04]: And then also I think the final thing to say on this point is Jessica relaying this information to to-dead Evan and also wanting to make sure that he knows but she wants him to survive because this city needs him.
13:44 --> 13:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, as those nice little touch, and and good, that kind of communication.
13:49 --> 13:52 [SPEAKER_04]: It's just, you know, sometimes
13:52 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think that was an important thing with what happened that happens later to the governor.
13:57 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, um, and also with how Matt Merdock deals with bulls, I ultimately.
14:03 --> 14:09 [SPEAKER_04]: So it's a nice little touch that they have that meat up again, Jessica and Matt.
14:10 --> 14:10 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
14:10 --> 14:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's move on to that in our next case.
14:15 --> 14:16 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so number two is governance choice.
14:16 --> 14:26 [SPEAKER_02]: So what happens really for the governor because the information that Jessica gets, as you say is that the governor is going to be killed that she is in the sights of Fisk.
14:26 --> 14:31 [SPEAKER_02]: We know the plan for Martin and Karen was to get her all the details about Red Hook.
14:31 --> 14:37 [SPEAKER_02]: The governor has the ability to shut down this loophole in the law that's allowing Red Hook to operate.
14:37 --> 14:45 [SPEAKER_02]: If she does that, that takes away a huge amount of Fisk's para, that's what Fisk's been using to get all of his contacts behind him.
14:45 --> 14:50 [SPEAKER_02]: So he reveals that effectively, they've made the decision that the governor is no more.
14:50 --> 14:57 [SPEAKER_02]: She is a dead parent at some point, so in order to combat this, Matt does the unthinkable.
14:58 --> 15:00 [SPEAKER_02]: He allows himself with point-dexter.
15:00 --> 15:13 [SPEAKER_02]: I want a great sitting here between Wilson Bethel and Charlie Cox, just staring each other down as Charlie Cox frees him and tells him, I hate you for what you did to foggy.
15:13 --> 15:24 [SPEAKER_02]: I hate what you did, and then kind of succinctly puts together the battle that's been going on in the mind of Matt Murdoch for this entire season and the mind of Daredevil for this entire season.
15:24 --> 15:31 [SPEAKER_02]: I want to kill you for what you did, and the other half of me knows you must be free for the people that you've killed.
15:31 --> 15:33 [SPEAKER_02]: At knows I must forgive you.
15:33 --> 15:36 [SPEAKER_02]: That is the battle that's by going on in this mind of the entire season.
15:37 --> 15:40 [SPEAKER_02]: Part of him knows he should kill.
15:40 --> 15:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Bullseye for what he did, the other part of him knows he must forgive him for what he did.
15:44 --> 15:48 [SPEAKER_02]: And that's the answer, but I love the way he lays it out there.
15:48 --> 15:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, absolutely.
15:49 --> 15:51 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's such a great scene.
15:52 --> 16:05 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, having Matt in essence, it's kind of like releasing the hands, allowing Bullseye here to, at least in his mind, redeem himself.
16:05 --> 16:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Certainly Bullseye has recovered from his injuries, he's much more chipper in this scene.
16:13 --> 16:29 [SPEAKER_04]: And it's not just foggy, but he hates him for one, and that's the thing I think matters being conditional here, you know, he goes, I hate you for foggy, for Father Lampthon and for Agent Nadine as well, so all those three.
16:30 --> 16:34 [SPEAKER_04]: and the present tense he's I still hate you.
16:34 --> 16:54 [SPEAKER_04]: It's a continuous thing, but he has to, in a sense, let that go, you know, or part of him will let that go, and all the part of him will keep
16:55 --> 17:17 [SPEAKER_04]: I, yeah, it was just a really good way of doing it because I think just how it transpires then with, as you say, Governor's Choice, it's a bit of intel that Charles has passed to Jess, that Jess has passed to Matt, that Matt has effectively allowed Bullseye to go and redeem himself.
17:18 --> 17:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Not necessarily with
17:20 --> 17:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Matt Murdock put all with Karen Page, put something that is important to then at this moment, which is the survival of Governor McAfrey.
17:32 --> 17:35 [SPEAKER_04]: And I just thought that was really nice.
17:35 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_04]: I like the fact that Bulls Eye kind of signs off with a salute and you're welcome.
17:40 --> 17:43 [SPEAKER_04]: I'd love to know who
17:43 --> 17:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, if there is any importance to the person who tried to strangle, because initially I was thinking it was going to be book cashmen, actually.
17:50 --> 18:00 [SPEAKER_04]: I know there was the parallel scenes around BB and Daniel and so on, but just in a very quick moment, I was thinking,
18:00 --> 18:17 [SPEAKER_04]: oh hang on a second is this gonna be book cashman you know because it's it's an important job it is and really important we've seen book cashman being at the the center of all the importance critical jobs that need to be done and then in this moment it's not book cashman you know yeah
18:17 --> 18:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but if there's a member of the ABTF, I would suggest which means that there's somebody dead on the floor who tried to kill the governor from the ABTF Exactly, so I feel like it's gonna be somebody that will be recognizable from that team.
18:30 --> 18:38 [SPEAKER_04]: The ABTF is very much going beyond the parameters of even a police task force.
18:39 --> 18:42 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I know that is
18:42 --> 19:11 [SPEAKER_04]: these crazy new laws that Wilson Fisk is brought in and so on in terms of the vigilante in safer streets acts but equally they are acting very much as a paramilitary force and it's it's really noticeable here and with the courtroom and so on but we'll come to that yeah and a bit but here certainly operating outside of I would think even the boundaries of
19:11 --> 19:14 [SPEAKER_04]: those new acts, that no Wilson Fiskars brought in.
19:14 --> 19:20 [SPEAKER_04]: Indeed, because they would be limited to the boundaries of New York City.
19:20 --> 19:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, absolutely.
19:23 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
19:25 --> 19:26 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
19:26 --> 19:27 [SPEAKER_04]: And I like it.
19:27 --> 19:33 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad Governor McAfrey has survived this assassination attempt.
19:34 --> 19:39 [SPEAKER_04]: I think what
19:39 --> 19:50 [SPEAKER_04]: the court case and what's going on and the news and this they need to move on the suspension paperwork now.
19:51 --> 19:56 [SPEAKER_02]: This is our window, yeah, we don't want to miss it and she did all this miss the window but
19:56 --> 20:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, that means for the finale of the show, the governor has still got her window open and still can take down Wilson Fisk, legally, through the method that Matt had laid in front of her.
20:08 --> 20:10 [SPEAKER_02]: So, that's awesome.
20:10 --> 20:14 [SPEAKER_02]: We have that as that is the back pocket for how Wilson Fisk gets taken down.
20:14 --> 20:14 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
20:14 --> 20:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
20:16 --> 20:20 [SPEAKER_04]: So, really interesting, kind of...
20:20 --> 20:31 [SPEAKER_04]: size maneuver from Wilson Fiskier that doesn't pan out all players as he thought exactly that's going to our next case no John a case no number three
20:33 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_02]: somehow Brett Mahoney returns.
20:35 --> 20:52 [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so that's not the major part of the point, but what are the things I wanted to bring up here is really Karen Page in prison, the pre-credits scene or the opening scene of the episode, and then the fact that we have Brett Mahoney returning from his appearances on Daredevil in the Punisher.
20:52 --> 20:53 [SPEAKER_02]: really cool to see him back.
20:53 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I love when you get an actor to come in and just play this type of cameo where he's a really important character had massive moments in the first three seasons of the show, but wouldn't have made sense really to bring in earlier on in the two seasons of of Dereleborn again, but he's risen to a really high position.
21:10 --> 21:17 [SPEAKER_02]: He's now chief of detectives, so he wouldn't have a connection with Karen and and Mass in their current circumstances.
21:17 --> 21:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Here we have in just a charge of this particular precinct and he's kind of looking over and making sure Karen's okay effectively.
21:26 --> 21:28 [SPEAKER_02]: But she doesn't need much help in that way.
21:28 --> 21:42 [SPEAKER_02]: That opening sequence where Wilson Fisk walks into the prison and confronts Karen and sticks his hand through the bars and around her throat but still leaves her alive is a massively tense sequence but such a great sequence.
21:42 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely, and I mean, firstly, Brett Mahoney and being back, I almost didn't know you breast.
21:51 --> 21:51 [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
21:51 --> 22:04 [SPEAKER_04]: You had to remind me, and yeah, from Daredevil, but also the punishment as well, and so, you know, still holding out hope that maybe Turk will show up if there if we've got Brett Mahoney.
22:05 --> 22:07 [SPEAKER_04]: And I kind of like that kind of,
22:07 --> 22:11 [SPEAKER_04]: the allies coming in from the NYPD.
22:11 --> 22:25 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean even just the fact that we see cherry alive and well here and you know, helping out as well over this and along with detective Kim and that that was also good to see.
22:26 --> 22:29 [SPEAKER_04]: Cherry was alive and well and back up on his feet, absolutely.
22:29 --> 22:43 [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, I just say, great to get, uh, Brett, Mahoney, effectively allowing dirt-evil and Karen to strategize, and which is really good, and here, because that's the whole point.
22:43 --> 22:48 [SPEAKER_04]: They need to be able to do that, and this is being facilitated here.
22:48 --> 22:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
22:49 --> 22:54 [SPEAKER_02]: I love to see in playdays when Karen comes outside and gives her a big hug and goes,
22:54 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_02]: I can't go anywhere with you.
22:55 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_02]: I need to stay here.
22:56 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_02]: I know we've pushed fist to the limits and I feel like it's really important job but he goes, well that's good because I'm not here to save you either.
23:04 --> 23:10 [SPEAKER_02]: So they're on the same page, the same Karen page and even though they're both on the other side of the of the bar as well that was really good.
23:10 --> 23:15 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're both effectively saying they need to face him in court even though he's not there.
23:16 --> 23:16 [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
23:16 --> 23:18 [SPEAKER_04]: So that was, yeah, really good.
23:18 --> 23:31 [SPEAKER_04]: And then yeah, that opening, as you say, really, really tense and really loved how Karen stands up to Wilson Fisk at the end of the previous episode.
23:31 --> 23:34 [SPEAKER_04]: it's Powell who has found Karen.
23:35 --> 23:43 [SPEAKER_04]: I was kind of thinking, okay, she's going to be in Red Hook sort of incarcerated somewhere again on the Red Hook property.
23:44 --> 23:45 [SPEAKER_04]: So that she can't be found.
23:46 --> 23:49 [SPEAKER_04]: I thought BB was going to kind of potentially be there as well.
23:49 --> 23:51 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but she...
23:51 --> 24:06 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, we open up where she is in a police cell in a police precinct and not with the AVTF and then gets visited by Wilson Fisk and you're right.
24:06 --> 24:08 [SPEAKER_04]: It's just really, really tense here.
24:08 --> 24:16 [SPEAKER_04]: But I love that she stands firm and stands up to him saying, I've never seen you skirt before and I kind of like it.
24:17 --> 24:17 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
24:17 --> 24:22 [SPEAKER_04]: I love the fact that Wilson Fisk at this stage is absolutely delusional.
24:22 --> 24:33 [SPEAKER_04]: It's like seven degrees of separation around the people who have taken such as Vanessa away from him.
24:33 --> 24:35 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, as you have taken people from me.
24:35 --> 24:44 [SPEAKER_04]: And now I again really enjoyed the little nod back to one of those people
24:44 --> 25:01 [SPEAKER_04]: But she certainly wasn't involved with Vanessa, who immediately I thought he was referring to, but it's just, he certainly, you know, I guess the profile of Wilson Fisk in just hanging on to everything, never letting anything go.
25:01 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_04]: And it's just eating away, I say.
25:04 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
25:05 --> 25:07 [SPEAKER_04]: And you have that moment where you
25:07 --> 25:24 [SPEAKER_04]: you think he's going to break the the windpipe of of Karen Page, but doesn't because he is wanting her to be absolutely penalized to the full extent of all these new laws in New York City.
25:24 --> 25:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah absolutely.
25:25 --> 25:30 [SPEAKER_04]: And he says you have one phone call to choose it wisely.
25:30 --> 25:31 [SPEAKER_04]: So who do you think she called?
25:32 --> 25:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I guess she called, I hope at Bernie, Christian McBurdy, but my favorite theory on the internet was, or questioned on the internet was, why didn't she call us back?
25:43 --> 25:47 [SPEAKER_02]: He would be in there in a second, and the entire precinct course we would be blown up.
25:48 --> 25:54 [SPEAKER_02]: But no, I think she understands that she needs to face the charges here because she believes she'll win it, right?
25:54 --> 25:57 [SPEAKER_02]: So that's the whole discussion that she has with Mass.
25:57 --> 25:58 [SPEAKER_02]: when she comes out of here.
25:58 --> 26:08 [SPEAKER_02]: But interestingly, and a little of this part of it's part of it's an offrier speech, and it's how he, how his voice breaks almost when he's so angry at that Karen.
26:09 --> 26:20 [SPEAKER_02]: And part of it is because he's saying the things that you've done, not just killing Wesley, but all the other things that you've done that have affected me in my life aren't because of love, and he does that really harsh laugh.
26:20 --> 26:23 [SPEAKER_02]: because he's just lost the person that he loves, right?
26:23 --> 26:37 [SPEAKER_02]: So he's looking at her, knowing she's in love with his enemy with mass, and knowing that he's going to punish her for that love that she shares with him, which I think is just all there in those few lines that Prince and Arthur delivers.
26:37 --> 26:39 [SPEAKER_02]: And that's why he's such a win for the show.
26:40 --> 26:40 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
26:40 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_04]: He has a great twitch around the eyes, though, that he does.
26:45 --> 26:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
26:46 --> 27:14 [SPEAKER_02]: either is a real twitch or he's able to put it on and it's so good yeah it's not he's just such a soft man when you see him talking normally he's such a quiet kind of reserved guy he just knows how to embody this persona of Wilson Fisk so well you know really really like it and like I I sure have said this probably quite controversial before about Wilson Fisk while I absolutely love the character I wish he could take a little bit of a back seat so he
27:15 --> 27:17 [SPEAKER_02]: members of the Rogues Gallery of Daredevil coming forward.
27:17 --> 27:21 [SPEAKER_02]: I'd love to see Daredevil versus some other members of that Rogues Gallery.
27:21 --> 27:30 [SPEAKER_04]: I think this hints of that, though, with ultimately Vanessa getting kills in this season.
27:30 --> 27:32 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, but you're right.
27:32 --> 27:33 [SPEAKER_04]: I think
27:33 --> 27:42 [SPEAKER_04]: There's an extended pallet here for Daredevil, they can be utilized and probably should, and whilst Vince is not for it is great.
27:42 --> 27:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think just the feeling is they don't want to move away from because he's such a great Yeah, part of the show he Charlie Cox and himself are the two central actors in the show, but
27:50 --> 27:57 [SPEAKER_02]: I think that also comes down to the fact that it's only eight episodes seasons when the starting episode seasons you can have a break from it.
27:57 --> 27:58 [SPEAKER_02]: You can have core cases you can have.
27:59 --> 28:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Another investigation going on with a different character and just have one scene of Vincent's in Africa, but I feel like since it came back and born again, these two seasons have been really balanced with the amount of time you see Vincent's in Africa and
28:11 --> 28:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Charlie Cox on screen separately and together, I think they've been focused on those two characters so centuries.
28:18 --> 28:28 [SPEAKER_02]: So I really hope that can come up with a great idea for the next season to break away a little bit from just those two dynamic over and over again because it can get stale even with such great actors in the roles.
28:29 --> 28:32 [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm hopeful that we'll be able to put them in the background somewhere.
28:33 --> 28:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Next season, we don't have to have the same Kingpin versus Daredevil battle,
28:38 --> 28:42 [SPEAKER_02]: There that was been around for 50 years, like he's got loads of people that he can be going up against.
28:43 --> 28:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely more.
28:44 --> 28:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
28:44 --> 28:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Shall we get on to our next case note?
28:46 --> 28:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, let's go on to case note number four.
28:50 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, big one, I think Daniel in the Lion's Dan to go all biblical, I love that this was reserved for a late in the episode.
29:00 --> 29:12 [SPEAKER_02]: That Daniel's been keeping baby essentially the entire night in his mother's home trying to avoid dealing with book effectively.
29:12 --> 29:29 [SPEAKER_02]: I love the twist when he's talking to her and frustrated whether and saying, you know, I just need to need you to know that you've messed up this whole thing for us by setting up the city without fear website and posts.
29:29 --> 29:35 [SPEAKER_02]: I love that he challenges her saying, look, I made your famous, you know, you helped me age, but I made you famous.
29:36 --> 29:41 [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't hear your protesting when you were getting all the money and all the, and all the, the viewership that I gave to you.
29:42 --> 29:46 [SPEAKER_02]: And BB's response going will city where they fear is the protest.
29:46 --> 29:49 [SPEAKER_02]: If you don't realize that you weren't listening, where is that, that was the protest.
29:49 --> 29:52 [SPEAKER_02]: You're the one that forced me to do what I wanted to do.
29:52 --> 29:54 [SPEAKER_02]: I set up the whole BB report.
29:54 --> 30:01 [SPEAKER_02]: in my in my college dorm room, everybody trusted and you perverted it, you twisted it into what Wilson Fisk needed.
30:01 --> 30:13 [SPEAKER_02]: So my outlay, my pushback has been this show and again we have a call back to the fact that her uncle Ben Oric was murdered by Kingpin and a great moment there again with
30:12 --> 30:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Daniel going, no we don't believe that that didn't happen and she goes you're kidding yourself you know he did this you're just trying to justify it and everything that Wilson fist does to yourself so you can live with yourself and great moments here in this open and opening biss with the two of them in his mom's kitchen
30:30 --> 30:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no I mean that this kind of relationship break down between the two and was was just really well done and and you know you really got the sense of Daniel in the process of betraying BB or at here you see him on his mobile and you know sending the information to book
30:50 --> 31:00 [SPEAKER_04]: calling him and I was there going, I really hope she knows that she's being effectively brought to a safe house that is anything but safe.
31:00 --> 31:11 [SPEAKER_04]: So this was all really good, I think as well, yeah, I love the fact that she counters Daniels kind of attacks on her around, you know,
31:11 --> 31:16 [SPEAKER_04]: where she says, you turn my work into a plastic imitation of it.
31:16 --> 31:21 [SPEAKER_04]: I would say, city without fear was me complaining to you about what was going on.
31:22 --> 31:24 [SPEAKER_04]: And...
31:24 --> 31:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel in a sense as well.
31:26 --> 31:37 [SPEAKER_04]: Even though I was more convinced he was going to betray her actually, um, you hear the panic in his voice around bookcashmen, you know, he will come for us.
31:37 --> 31:44 [SPEAKER_04]: It's almost terminated as in that this guy is like an unstoppable killer.
31:44 --> 31:50 [SPEAKER_04]: He will just keep coming until
31:50 --> 31:57 [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought his two-plus two there was so scary when he says, you know, I could hand you over to him.
31:58 --> 31:58 [SPEAKER_02]: And then it's done.
31:59 --> 32:02 [SPEAKER_02]: And then I basically I prove my loyalty to Fisk.
32:02 --> 32:03 [SPEAKER_02]: I prove my loyalty to book.
32:03 --> 32:11 [SPEAKER_02]: If I don't hand you over, he comes for me, he comes for you, he comes for my mom, he comes for everybody I've ever loved, they're all dead.
32:11 --> 32:12 [SPEAKER_02]: So,
32:12 --> 32:27 [SPEAKER_02]: what he's selling to her or he's selling to baby is well really if I give him you it's all done right yeah everything else means you're still going to die and you're probably going to be punished for it and then we're all going to be tortured and killed as well so um so yeah I thought that was that was a really interesting one
32:27 --> 32:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, I think as well, it's really interesting on the way over to the safe house, you know, she's kind of getting suspicious going, yeah, what's going on.
32:36 --> 32:41 [SPEAKER_04]: You have Daniel in a sense open up to us at saying it's not just Fisk or book, it's also me.
32:41 --> 32:45 [SPEAKER_04]: I've done things and he tells her about, and...
32:45 --> 33:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Christophe, the second in command of the Northern Star, and I think he says, I can't have anyone else knowing after he's told, and this is where I'm like, oh my goodness, he's actually going to effectively throw her under the boss exactly, he's saying I know that, and I can't let anybody else know that, so you think absolutely he's going to turn around.
33:07 --> 33:14 [SPEAKER_02]: I think he is going to, I think I absolutely get to the front door, and when she pulls away, he realizes I have an
33:15 --> 33:37 [SPEAKER_04]: effectively due to the right thing here, what she says is this who you want to be, and at least I think was really good here as you see here that Daniel in essence does have a conscience, and he has realized like just how crazy this has become in this moment where she's I just say pulling away
33:37 --> 33:56 [SPEAKER_04]: saying to him this is not a safe house and I'm kind of pleased it in a sense it went that way with those two yeah because he has also I think been looking after her whilst they've both been employed by city hall and because he has known
33:56 --> 34:16 [SPEAKER_04]: what's happened though is that the speed at which book Kesheman has gotten that intel and has finally understood who it is, has taken longer and this crazy situation especially given him helping book to bury Christophie.
34:17 --> 34:18 [SPEAKER_04]: Then it
34:18 --> 34:21 [SPEAKER_04]: It's messed with Daniel's mind.
34:21 --> 34:22 [SPEAKER_04]: He is totally stressed.
34:22 --> 34:29 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's great acting from Michael Gandalfini, but also like the bag's under his eyes.
34:29 --> 34:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Like he looks stressed to hell.
34:32 --> 34:38 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it was such a tense thing between,
34:38 --> 34:48 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel and BB were then when he goes in empty handed effectively to book between book and Daniel.
34:48 --> 34:57 [SPEAKER_04]: And there is a moment where I'm thinking, is this the moment book breaks in terms of his loyalty to Wilson Fisk as well?
34:57 --> 35:01 [SPEAKER_04]: Because you see him hesitating to pull the trigger.
35:01 --> 35:10 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, even just marginally, and it's the fact because he is a trained soldier, a trained killer, and he is hesitating.
35:11 --> 35:18 [SPEAKER_04]: I think, you know, all the talk previously, it has been books saying to Wilson Fisk, he's proving his loyalty.
35:19 --> 35:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
35:19 --> 35:23 [SPEAKER_04]: So I think this comes as a shock to book that
35:23 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_04]: BB's not with him.
35:24 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
35:25 --> 35:32 [SPEAKER_04]: And he has this moment of doubt, I guess, which ultimately and sadly doesn't last.
35:32 --> 35:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it feels like books kind of go and do a kill Daniel here or will I bring him back to Fisk and then Fisk can make the decision for him, you know?
35:41 --> 35:48 [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what's getting under the skin with book because it is a choice he's making here because
35:48 --> 35:51 [SPEAKER_02]: BB wasn't brought with Daniel.
35:51 --> 35:53 [SPEAKER_02]: He's making the decision to kill Daniel right here.
35:53 --> 36:00 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean Daniel is pleading with him and he says, how long till you're on the floor with the gun pointed at your head.
36:00 --> 36:01 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
36:02 --> 36:03 [SPEAKER_04]: And whether that makes book,
36:05 --> 36:08 [SPEAKER_04]: holes or think I don't know whether it does.
36:08 --> 36:13 [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's doing it maybe because he actually did just light the guy.
36:13 --> 36:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I just feel like the two arguments that Daniel has, that one which is why are you supporting Fisk?
36:18 --> 36:19 [SPEAKER_02]: It's not doing anything for you.
36:19 --> 36:21 [SPEAKER_02]: You will be here in this position in the future.
36:21 --> 36:22 [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody ends up here.
36:22 --> 36:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Fisk is
36:24 --> 36:25 [SPEAKER_02]: is his own person who will do his own thing.
36:26 --> 36:30 [SPEAKER_02]: And then the second part of the argument is this isn't Talman.
36:31 --> 36:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Back to the conversation that they had in the car where a book was effectively saying he was just following orders back in hell in Providence in Afghanistan years ago and that's how he's in the situation he's in now and Daniel's pleading with him going this isn't Talman.
36:43 --> 36:49 [SPEAKER_02]: and the person you're supporting will turn on you in the future and you will be on the floor here with a gun on your face.
36:49 --> 36:55 [SPEAKER_02]: So I think they are real arguments that are getting through to book because you can see his reaction with Daniel.
36:55 --> 36:59 [SPEAKER_02]: You can see that he's thinking about on even after he pulls the trigger and walks for the door.
37:00 --> 37:03 [SPEAKER_02]: There's still a pause and I'm going did I make the right decision here?
37:03 --> 37:04 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
37:04 --> 37:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
37:05 --> 37:16 [SPEAKER_02]: But what I want a great moment of really, really shocking moment for the season, really, you know, we kind of suspected that someone like Daniel might not live forever in the show.
37:16 --> 37:19 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, so the people going to die, Daniel was quite high up there.
37:20 --> 37:24 [SPEAKER_02]: But I think the way it played out in the episode was really, really good.
37:24 --> 37:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Love this.
37:24 --> 37:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, definitely.
37:25 --> 37:30 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really enjoyed
37:31 --> 37:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Excellent.
37:32 --> 37:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, with that, let's get on to our final case note, John.
37:36 --> 37:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Order in the court.
37:38 --> 37:38 [SPEAKER_02]: That works right.
37:38 --> 37:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, because our final case note is page vfisk.
37:41 --> 37:43 [SPEAKER_02]: The case coming to court, uh, between the two of them.
37:44 --> 37:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Again, interesting concept that this is how Fisk is in the take-down, um, Karen Page, put her in a courtroom, um, destroy her reputation, take everything about, uh, base her a parish in front of the media, um,
37:56 --> 38:02 [SPEAKER_02]: make her as responsible for the actions of Daredevil as he possibly can.
38:02 --> 38:19 [SPEAKER_02]: We see the initial moment when the DA comes, that horrible, horrible DA comes into his office and lists off a bunch of charges that he could possibly put up against Karen and Fisk says, charge her with all of them and convict her with all of those charges as well.
38:19 --> 38:20 [SPEAKER_02]: I want to see her.
38:20 --> 38:21 [SPEAKER_02]: properly fall for this.
38:22 --> 38:22 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
38:23 --> 38:35 [SPEAKER_04]: And yet, no, I mean, Hockburg is fairly despicable as a DA, and ultimately is Wilson Fisk's mouthpiece in court.
38:35 --> 38:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Mm-hmm.
38:36 --> 38:38 [SPEAKER_04]: The big reveal of Matt.
38:38 --> 38:46 [SPEAKER_04]: coming through the doors and to defend Karen Page, be part of the team with Kirsten McDuffie, really, really good.
38:46 --> 38:58 [SPEAKER_04]: And something that I, you know, Wilson Fisk, I don't think would have intended, but he does say as he's watching it, then, well, here's Karen Page drawing her comrades into the line of fire.
38:58 --> 39:03 [SPEAKER_04]: So that immediately made me think, okay, there's a bigger
39:03 --> 39:12 [SPEAKER_04]: There's something maybe something else here that we don't know about, but I kind of liked how at least the way the courts play it out.
39:13 --> 39:17 [SPEAKER_04]: Primarily were the the the judge.
39:18 --> 39:26 [SPEAKER_04]: In a sense, chess dies is customer coffee for almost going off scripts sort of bringing all this back to Wilson Fisk.
39:26 --> 39:29 [SPEAKER_04]: The MERS office, the AVTF.
39:29 --> 39:33 [SPEAKER_04]: and she says there's no jury to play to here.
39:34 --> 39:39 [SPEAKER_04]: Councillor McDuffie and she just looks at it and says, are you sure?
39:39 --> 39:40 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
39:40 --> 39:47 [SPEAKER_04]: As all the cameras are lined up on the side, you know, and...
39:47 --> 39:50 [SPEAKER_04]: I think I just love a really nice moment here.
39:51 --> 39:58 [SPEAKER_04]: I know they sort of call on Powell here, which is interesting, and they have coal in the dock as well.
39:59 --> 40:11 [SPEAKER_04]: So they're really targeting the situation that happened outside of Sissy Hall with the AVTF, but also bringing it back to Mfisk, ultimately
40:11 --> 40:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and also to the attack on Matt Murdoch's premises back in season one where Cole got burnt up, you know, I love that
40:20 --> 40:32 [SPEAKER_02]: they're trying to undermine pal with the arguments as well, you know, they're trying to say, well, do you think it was right if you had to go around to the lower amount of Murdoch's apartment back then?
40:32 --> 40:42 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go trying to say that it was just a welfare check, and, you know, a toughy kind of turning it on, I'm going, well, you know, everybody was fully armed, and they were, you
40:42 --> 40:48 [SPEAKER_02]: massive ATV vehicles outside and you think that was required for a blind lower in health kitchen.
40:48 --> 41:02 [SPEAKER_02]: No, that kind of welfare check seems a bit excessive and so just what that feels to me is that they're telling coal that the orders he's been following are coming from some really bad people who have an ulterior motive.
41:02 --> 41:02 [SPEAKER_02]: So
41:02 --> 41:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I think Cole again is another character that maybe for the turning we saw that he's that he did see Powell's shoes that the treasure in their mist.
41:11 --> 41:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Last episode now he's sitting in a courtroom thinking he's been following the ride orders and realizing actually maybe somebody's been twisting those orders like Powell to get me to do things that I probably shouldn't be doing probably that are extra legal dispose.
41:25 --> 41:32 [SPEAKER_02]: But also interestingly in the initial opening argument
41:32 --> 41:58 [SPEAKER_02]: What she's trying to do here and her opening argument she's saying is a vigilante the last resource to obtain the justice abroad or society can no longer supply and when asked you know why you're playing to a jury when there's no jury here and she points to the cameras saying well that's the jury so she's effectively saying we are now working for the people who will overthrow this completely corrupt just a system
41:58 --> 42:01 [SPEAKER_02]: because they're hearing all of these arguments through their TVs.
42:01 --> 42:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
42:02 --> 42:04 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so really like how that all tied in.
42:04 --> 42:14 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm saying this, John, when we were watching the episode, you know, the question that you always have when you're watching Daredevil is, where is the legal parser and where is the action scenes, right?
42:14 --> 42:15 [SPEAKER_02]: It's not just an action show.
42:15 --> 42:17 [SPEAKER_02]: It has to be a legal drama as well.
42:18 --> 42:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Matt Murdoch's a lawyer.
42:19 --> 42:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Daredevil is the fighter, right?
42:20 --> 42:22 [SPEAKER_02]: So you have to have Matt Murdoch on the court room.
42:22 --> 42:49 [SPEAKER_02]: and they've done a really good job in this episode of these last two episodes probably done a really good job of holding back the courtroom scenes to be the big denium on at the end of the season because we've seen lots of punching, we've seen lots of fighting, we've seen super heroes battling against other other super parod people, you know, we've seen loads and loads of action throughout the season, now it's time for the law to take over in the show, want to
42:49 --> 42:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, absolutely, yeah, but that doesn't include that there will be action because courts adjourned for the night, because it was going to be a long-core case, of course.
42:58 --> 43:00 [SPEAKER_02]: Paige just sent off back to herself for another scene.
43:00 --> 43:01 [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about in a second.
43:02 --> 43:07 [SPEAKER_02]: But I love that Matt's down in there with McDuffie going, oh, oh, did I think about the thing about this?
43:07 --> 43:10 [SPEAKER_02]: The AVTF are not leaving their chairs, are they?
43:10 --> 43:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they're still here.
43:11 --> 43:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly.
43:12 --> 43:16 [SPEAKER_04]: But again, it's a absolute overreach.
43:17 --> 43:17 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, they're power.
43:17 --> 43:20 [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't quite know where he's getting that order from.
43:20 --> 43:30 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if it's from Wilson Fisk, then it's an overplay because I mean, they go to attack them in the basement car park of the court house.
43:30 --> 43:34 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they could have gone out the front of the building.
43:35 --> 43:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
43:35 --> 43:38 [SPEAKER_04]: And so there wouldn't have been able to do it there.
43:38 --> 43:43 [SPEAKER_04]: I think if you've gone to this trouble to prosecute and have this.
43:43 --> 43:45 [SPEAKER_04]: kangaroo course in a sense.
43:46 --> 44:04 [SPEAKER_04]: You want that to play out and not have it disrupted because what would have happened if the AVTF had killed them all because it was cherry defending her, wasn't even members of my PD or the the the court security.
44:05 --> 44:08 [SPEAKER_04]: And so it it it it felt a little
44:08 --> 44:12 [SPEAKER_04]: odd that they decided to do this to me a little bit.
44:12 --> 44:14 [SPEAKER_04]: I can see what they're trying to say.
44:14 --> 44:24 [SPEAKER_04]: But again, it was another overreach that will come back to Holland, Wilson Fisk and also on the Daredevil in the process just get shot.
44:24 --> 44:25 [SPEAKER_02]: He does.
44:25 --> 44:26 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, Matt does absolutely a bad
44:26 --> 44:31 [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of the point he's going to come in and be injured for this next episode, right?
44:32 --> 44:34 [SPEAKER_02]: And I think you're right to question us.
44:34 --> 44:39 [SPEAKER_02]: My feeling is probably the aggressive side of pale has come out here.
44:39 --> 44:40 [SPEAKER_02]: And he's the one that's overreached.
44:41 --> 44:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he's the one with the crushed head at the final episode this season, but at the hands of Wilson first.
44:47 --> 44:49 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, Fist did say,
44:49 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_02]: In that episode where they were trying to chase down Bullseye and Daredevil, he did say to Pal, I want them both alive, right?
44:55 --> 44:58 [SPEAKER_02]: He wants to punish them both himself with his own bare hands.
44:59 --> 45:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Pal, I think, took this into his hands to try and take a mass when he had the opportunity, right?
45:06 --> 45:12 [SPEAKER_02]: Because they haven't made that connection in the press, they haven't shared to the public that Matt Murdoch and Daredevil are the same person.
45:13 --> 45:14 [SPEAKER_02]: Paild doesn't know that either, right?
45:14 --> 45:15 [SPEAKER_02]: He just didn't know.
45:15 --> 45:16 [SPEAKER_02]: No.
45:16 --> 45:16 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
45:16 --> 45:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Because you have that moment between Paul and Fisk were, he says, look, we'll get Matt Murdoch in bringing him in alive.
45:25 --> 45:28 [SPEAKER_04]: Don't you worry, I'm going perfectly for Dead Devil.
45:28 --> 45:30 [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think they're able to head in a spot.
45:30 --> 45:30 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
45:30 --> 45:32 [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like, either will be fine.
45:32 --> 45:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's right.
45:33 --> 45:34 [SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
45:34 --> 45:38 [SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, I'd really interesting when a really cool fight that was going on a car park, though, already.
45:38 --> 45:40 [SPEAKER_02]: I really thought that was cool.
45:40 --> 45:45 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the last kind of part of Page vs. Fisk is kind of the set up for next time.
45:45 --> 45:54 [SPEAKER_02]: Because everything's been rolling so fast, this feels like the scene that we have here between Karen Page and Heather Glenn should have happened before it went to court.
45:55 --> 45:58 [SPEAKER_02]: So this is where Heather Glenn gets her opportunity to see
45:58 --> 46:10 [SPEAKER_02]: I guess Matt's new girlfriend and to assess her psychology, right, and give her the psychological test that she's been giving to all of the people that we're in red hook in the past.
46:10 --> 46:18 [SPEAKER_02]: So we have Heather Glenn sitting down opposite Karen Page and starting to read that that questionnaire that starts with, do you like mechanic magazines?
46:18 --> 46:19 [SPEAKER_02]: It's weird as hell.
46:19 --> 46:27 [SPEAKER_02]: I love that Karen instantly goes, like I know exactly what test that is, that's the Minneapolis Metaphysic inventory, which is completely out of date and can't be trusted.
46:27 --> 46:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we should have another chat, and I love this.
46:30 --> 46:31 [SPEAKER_02]: This is so good.
46:32 --> 46:37 [SPEAKER_02]: Each other trying to push each one pushing each other's buttons, you know.
46:37 --> 46:49 [SPEAKER_02]: Heather Glenn pushing Karen over and over again pushing her trying to find her her button at her button is that people think the Karen is a weak person that needs to be taking care of.
46:50 --> 46:57 [SPEAKER_02]: That everybody's just been using her ever since her her brother and her father again called back to season two.
46:57 --> 46:58 [SPEAKER_02]: I think of Daredevil.
46:58 --> 47:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah and remember wasting a very long time to find out what it happened with Karen and her brother and but pushing the fact that Karen has murdered many people in her past.
47:06 --> 47:07 [SPEAKER_02]: She's murdered
47:07 --> 47:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Wesley.
47:09 --> 47:17 [SPEAKER_02]: And it's really when she gets to the point of saying, Frank Castle, treating her like a weakling, Frank Castle, using her for what he wanted.
47:17 --> 47:21 [SPEAKER_02]: That's when Karen freaks out and that's Heather going right now.
47:21 --> 47:22 [SPEAKER_02]: I know where you are.
47:22 --> 47:26 [SPEAKER_02]: And then it's the other way around when Karen twists it into
47:26 --> 47:29 [SPEAKER_02]: that she pisses Heather for everything that she's gone through.
47:29 --> 47:42 [SPEAKER_02]: And once she does that, the idea that Muse got Heather into this pissyable position of a weak woman being attacked by him back in season one of Daredevil born again is what's coming back.
47:42 --> 47:53 [SPEAKER_02]: You see Muse in the background of the room once again appearing
47:53 --> 47:54 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
47:54 --> 47:59 [SPEAKER_04]: No, I mean, I love the fact that Karen went toe-to-so with Heather Glenn.
47:59 --> 48:06 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, but of all the characters in this show, I absolutely cannot stand Heather Glenn.
48:06 --> 48:06 [SPEAKER_04]: I know.
48:06 --> 48:16 [SPEAKER_04]: I think the actress Margarisa Levyva has done a great job of making me absolutely
48:16 --> 48:18 [SPEAKER_04]: loath this character.
48:18 --> 48:19 [SPEAKER_04]: It is loath.
48:20 --> 48:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Like, as soon as she walked in, it was just the pious nature of what she's doing.
48:25 --> 48:33 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, even there's a moment where she interrupts DA Hockberg and
48:33 --> 48:39 [SPEAKER_04]: she comes in to Wilson Fisk's office and said, I wanted to check in on new person to person.
48:40 --> 48:44 [SPEAKER_04]: It's almost become a parody her psychology.
48:44 --> 48:52 [SPEAKER_04]: And again, coming here with Karen with this two bit psychology test that can be easily gained now.
48:52 --> 49:00 [SPEAKER_04]: I love that Karen goes toe to toe to a
49:00 --> 49:18 [SPEAKER_04]: just it feels to me like she has put herself in this position, not even, you know, I mean, I know there's extenuating circumstances, I get it absolutely, I know Mews has had a huge impact but for someone,
49:19 --> 49:24 [SPEAKER_04]: who is in the business of therapy, not to go and seek therapists.
49:24 --> 49:26 [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's that element, too, is.
49:26 --> 49:42 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, maybe she thought it would just come with her association with book, with the Fisks, who knows, which she has just gone down further and further as this character that I just alone.
49:42 --> 49:44 [SPEAKER_02]: And she'd become a club to many.
49:44 --> 49:45 [SPEAKER_02]: I couldn't mention last week.
49:45 --> 49:49 [SPEAKER_02]: She stole one of Vanessa's earrings, the red and white ones.
49:49 --> 49:52 [SPEAKER_02]: It's similar to a certain mask that we've seen.
49:53 --> 49:58 [SPEAKER_02]: And in that conversation with Fisk, where she goes to check up and then Fisk hands over the other earring tour as well.
49:58 --> 50:03 [SPEAKER_02]: So she gets a nice set of time and earrings from what's in Fisk, so they...
50:03 --> 50:05 [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it's just... oh yeah.
50:05 --> 50:24 [SPEAKER_04]: I really was screaming for Karen to sort of just win out on that, and in essence, the fact that she has to river to a good old slapping across the face means Karen absolutely got onto her skin.
50:24 --> 50:39 [SPEAKER_02]: Like I presume, since everything's going legal here, the fact that the DA's office psychologist came in and slapped the slapture across the face drawing blood is probably enough to say what I don't need to have her in here again.
50:39 --> 50:39 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I agree.
50:39 --> 50:39 [SPEAKER_02]: So.
50:39 --> 50:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Effectively, the only job she has in this case, which was to discredit Karen and provide a psychological profile that says that she's as bad as the vigilantes She can't deliver that for us.
50:50 --> 50:51 [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not scary either.
50:51 --> 51:02 [SPEAKER_02]: So she's screwed her job too And so by Heather Glenn, I guess we'll see what happens to you in season three of Daredevil Yeah, absolutely I think that's it for all of our notes, John.
51:03 --> 51:06 [SPEAKER_02]: I think that's it for all of our case notes for the episode, John.
51:06 --> 51:09 [SPEAKER_02]: I think we didn't mention that you wanted to call out
51:09 --> 51:18 [SPEAKER_04]: I think the only thing really is, you know, we see Matt having gotten injured in the car park, going back to church, to kind of pray.
51:18 --> 51:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
51:19 --> 51:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Frank to St. Jude, which in my church was known as the patron saint of lost causes.
51:24 --> 51:31 [SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a much more polite term for there, but it would always be, oh, there's no way I can get through anything here.
51:32 --> 51:37 [SPEAKER_02]: Prets St. Jude and St. Jude will carry you through, which kind of the way it was when I was a kid.
51:37 --> 51:41 [SPEAKER_02]: But interestingly, we see that Charles A. Jessica Jones kind of.
51:41 --> 52:00 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, so has Jessica Jones arrived because Matt's praying She have a direct line to to Matt praying for help His trials and tribulations But yeah, and that's and also because this is overlaid on top of the scene with with book and Daniel as well It makes it definitely
52:00 --> 52:06 [SPEAKER_02]: almost convinces you that that book's not going to pull the trigger because of the prayer that's coming in from that.
52:06 --> 52:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah exactly exactly.
52:08 --> 52:09 [SPEAKER_04]: It's really well done.
52:09 --> 52:10 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
52:10 --> 52:16 [SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to do callbacks to the three seasons of Daredevil and Netflix, you've got to have a courtroom scene and you're going to have Matt praying in church, don't you?
52:17 --> 52:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
52:18 --> 52:19 [SPEAKER_02]: It had all of those things.
52:20 --> 52:21 [SPEAKER_02]: It certainly did.
52:21 --> 52:26 [SPEAKER_02]: I've got a couple of notes, interesting one, the scene where we have
52:26 --> 52:43 [SPEAKER_02]: Wilson Fisk watching the television watching the courtroom scene as as matter arrives in and I was really surprising that it's only when you have the subtitles on that you hear the reporter explaining who Matt is saying you know this is the guy who saved King Ben he's been
52:43 --> 52:55 [SPEAKER_02]: in hiding for months and now he's coming out and he's on this other side which I think is a massive thing because again the mayor of the city has been put out this report that he wanted to save Matt Murdoch the person that saved him.
52:55 --> 53:02 [SPEAKER_02]: We wanted to put out everybody in the city to find Matt Murdoch and now he turns up in court and he's on the opposing side to Wilson Fist.
53:02 --> 53:03 [SPEAKER_02]: That's
53:03 --> 53:09 [SPEAKER_02]: a huge thing, then if you had, again, the thirteenth episode of the season that used to have a Netflix, you would have Matt explained that, right?
53:09 --> 53:15 [SPEAKER_02]: You'd have him standing up in court going, I'm not on Wilson Fisk side, I'm against this absolutely.
53:15 --> 53:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
53:17 --> 53:18 [SPEAKER_02]: And that was really good.
53:19 --> 53:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Cool one as well, the Avengers Tower, and now the new Avengers Watch Tower appeared in the opening credits.
53:25 --> 53:27 [SPEAKER_02]: That was the first thing you see as the opening credits.
53:27 --> 53:45 [SPEAKER_02]: And one that I can't verify, my TV's big, and I could see it in 4K, but the image is going round of the table in front of Matt Murdoch when he's there with his note pad and the note pad looks very, very like a compendium of Daredevil comic books from Marvel.
53:45 --> 53:52 [SPEAKER_02]: As a little easter egg in there that Matt's carried a Daredevil comic book in the scene, I don't think it is.
53:52 --> 53:55 [SPEAKER_02]: I think they may have made the compendium look like a legal notepad.
53:56 --> 53:57 [SPEAKER_02]: That's why people are confusing it.
53:57 --> 54:06 [SPEAKER_02]: But it does look like it's a message they were saying that when I'm seeing the photographs, it does look like it's a lot more than the scene that looked like the watcher a couple of weeks ago.
54:06 --> 54:09 [SPEAKER_02]: That's a people are suggesting the watcher was in the episode.
54:11 --> 54:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
54:11 --> 54:18 [SPEAKER_02]: That's it for my notes for the episode, no whiskey watch this week, unfortunately.
54:18 --> 54:19 [SPEAKER_02]: No, absolutely.
54:19 --> 54:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Do you know what I did come across when I looked up at whiskey and Jessica Jones this week, John?
54:24 --> 54:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, she drinks a lot of this.
54:25 --> 54:41 [SPEAKER_02]: She does, she does, but apparently the props sale that was going on for Jessica Jones, they sold a bottle of a bottle of whiskey and her sunglasses from Jessica Jones season two for $1000.
54:41 --> 54:45 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'll use brown sugary liquid.
54:45 --> 54:46 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, actually.
54:46 --> 54:50 [SPEAKER_02]: I used whiskey and shades from Jessica Jones John for a thousand cookies.
54:50 --> 54:51 [SPEAKER_02]: Um, yes.
54:53 --> 54:54 [SPEAKER_02]: You don't seem too convinced.
54:54 --> 54:55 [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, boss.
54:55 --> 54:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see if you're convinced about this episode.
54:57 --> 54:58 [SPEAKER_02]: Silence.
54:59 --> 55:00 [SPEAKER_02]: you defend this episode.
55:01 --> 55:03 [SPEAKER_02]: John, do you defend this episode of Daredevil born again?
55:03 --> 55:04 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I really do.
55:04 --> 55:09 [SPEAKER_04]: I give this five psycho evaluations out of five.
55:09 --> 55:20 [SPEAKER_04]: I just saw this was filled with what we love about Daredevil and caught room cases and him as Daredevil Church.
55:20 --> 55:24 [SPEAKER_04]: having bulls eye in a different way here in this episode.
55:25 --> 55:47 [SPEAKER_04]: And some great tense scenes peppered through this episode, whether it's the opening face-to-face between Karen and Wilson Fisk, whether it's even mass and bulls eyes exchange before bulls eye goes off to save
55:47 --> 55:56 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel with BB Orick, it is Daniel with Book Cashman, and all of these scenes really, really good.
55:56 --> 56:04 [SPEAKER_04]: And again, topped off with Karen against the crazy Glen Heather
56:04 --> 56:09 [SPEAKER_04]: Glenn, um, Dr. Heather Glenn, um, yes.
56:10 --> 56:15 [SPEAKER_04]: She needs sort of something happening in the final episode.
56:16 --> 56:29 [SPEAKER_04]: Um, really makes my blood boil, um, seeing her descend from a, he'd be a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a,
56:30 --> 56:38 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, there are reasons for that and I am totally with her, but she just feels like she's gone down the rabbit hole.
56:39 --> 56:43 [SPEAKER_04]: And I think in that hateful darkness, the title of the episode, I just see it in her.
56:44 --> 56:51 [SPEAKER_04]: I think Margarita Levivia is just really good at showing this kind of troubled person.
56:51 --> 56:56 [SPEAKER_04]: And you kind of like, has it gone, it almost feels like,
56:56 --> 57:01 [SPEAKER_04]: just tipped it over into being sort of consumed by darkness.
57:01 --> 57:03 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, we've had the choking stuff.
57:03 --> 57:04 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
57:04 --> 57:09 [SPEAKER_04]: The taking of the earings, she's becoming at something hateful and dark.
57:10 --> 57:15 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I feel it applies here as much to have her glam in this moment even though she has
57:15 --> 57:25 [SPEAKER_04]: and such a small amount of screen time in this episode and it is strong and it's a great performance.
57:25 --> 57:31 [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, for me I give this five psycho evaluations out of five love it.
57:31 --> 57:35 [SPEAKER_04]: So Derek, do you defend episode 7, the hateful darkness?
57:36 --> 57:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely defend the best episode of the season really, really loved it again as I mentioned earlier.
57:42 --> 57:45 [SPEAKER_02]: bringing back the courtroom scene for this last couple of episodes.
57:45 --> 57:50 [SPEAKER_02]: The one you're always expected to come, Matt Murdoch's a lawyer, has to have his time in court at some point.
57:50 --> 57:57 [SPEAKER_02]: And if you don't have 13 episodes or 22 episodes in season, you're going to have to use it in a big moment like this, and I think it worked so well.
57:58 --> 58:00 [SPEAKER_02]: We're looking forward to seeing how plays out next week.
58:00 --> 58:06 [SPEAKER_02]: as Mac comes in on his crutch for the final battle in the court room.
58:06 --> 58:08 [SPEAKER_02]: Great, looking forward to it.
58:08 --> 58:11 [SPEAKER_02]: What I'm looking forward to now though, John, is a drink down the local pub.
58:11 --> 58:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely speaking of Margarisa playing Heather Glenn, makes me want to grab a
58:19 --> 58:36 [SPEAKER_04]: massive margarine from josey's boss so fellow quizzes Valorate trust the big strengths and josey's burns well maybe not next over shot a whiskey shot a vodka shot a keela shot of everything yeah and maybe some gunshot
58:36 --> 58:51 [SPEAKER_04]: But fellow quizzes, fellow defenders, it is Josie's bar quiz, it's a question seven in this season's bar quiz, and the question is, what precinct is Karen Page taken to?
58:51 --> 58:52 [SPEAKER_02]: easy one this time.
58:52 --> 58:53 [SPEAKER_02]: Short and sweet.
58:53 --> 58:55 [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not precinct 13.
58:55 --> 58:58 [SPEAKER_02]: That's what was in my head, just because I remember precinct 13 as a movie.
58:59 --> 59:00 [SPEAKER_02]: It's not that.
59:00 --> 59:02 [SPEAKER_02]: It's something that's generally give the question more about it.
59:02 --> 59:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
59:03 --> 59:06 [SPEAKER_04]: What precinct is current page taking to
59:06 --> 59:26 [SPEAKER_04]: send in the answer fellow quizzes, fellow defenders at the end of the season when you can compile all eight questions together and send them into feedback at tvpodcastindustries.com and you'll be in a chance of getting some Daredevil goodies in the draw.
59:26 --> 59:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, yep, and that's the same place you can send in your feedback.
59:29 --> 59:32 [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's time to get some feedback from our fellow defenders.
59:32 --> 59:50 [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to start out with some feedback on Episode 6 of Daredevil Born Again Season 2, because I missed a bit last week from Dr. Bob, who says Vincent Delanferior punched it out of the park this episode every scene, the heartbroken murder, the grieving rose bear, the white shining ghost in the black dressed wake.
59:49 --> 01:00:06 [SPEAKER_02]: The descent to the snowstorm still etched with a blood of an Auschwitz survivor and that final deadlock did enjoy the cameo of sober Jones and her darling daughter, but of like relief and I don't quite know if the SD card will bury baby or her decision not to leak will save her.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Also, medical tip time, barium does not glow, but it is radiopaeic so you can see it's really easily on x-ray and used to be used a loss.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:19 [SPEAKER_02]: to look for reflux disease, bailstructures and more.
01:00:19 --> 01:00:23 [SPEAKER_02]: For the tip, do not try surrogate choking as a PTSD therapy.
01:00:24 --> 01:00:26 [SPEAKER_02]: That is a tip for life.
01:00:26 --> 01:00:29 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, and don't try that otherwise, you might choke.
01:00:29 --> 01:00:30 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
01:00:30 --> 01:00:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Literally to death.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:34 [SPEAKER_04]: And thanks so much talk to Bob though for the feedback.
01:00:34 --> 01:00:37 [SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, absolutely Vincent's an off-reot at
01:00:39 --> 01:00:49 [SPEAKER_04]: proving again just how good he is and certainly love to get your thoughts for episode 7 with that SD card as well.
01:00:49 --> 01:00:52 [SPEAKER_02]: We might see them later on in my section.
01:00:52 --> 01:00:56 [SPEAKER_02]: But we have some feedback on episode 6 and 7 from Rainer Jung.
01:00:56 --> 01:01:00 [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent, Reina says hello to their fellow defenders.
01:01:00 --> 01:01:04 [SPEAKER_04]: This season I have genuinely enjoyed so far, I wish it was longer.
01:01:05 --> 01:01:11 [SPEAKER_04]: The fight scene with Matt and Fisk was very unexpected, but it felt like it was ripped straight out of a comic book.
01:01:11 --> 01:01:12 [SPEAKER_04]: It was.
01:01:12 --> 01:01:18 [SPEAKER_04]: Love to have Jessica James back, and man do I love Karen Page, her Matt clashing
01:01:18 --> 01:01:24 [SPEAKER_04]: ideologies was to be expected with Karen's leniency for punisher ways.
01:01:24 --> 01:01:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Also what the hell was my thinking leaving Karen alone with decks at this point I'm very much on Karen's size.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:40 [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like this episode sets up that book is going to kill Daniel because BB is an oric and Ben already died.
01:01:41 --> 01:01:45 [SPEAKER_04]: I feel they would go a different way so I suspect Daniel is going to
01:01:45 --> 01:01:51 [SPEAKER_04]: Also, the scene between book and Heather might be the freakiest scene we got all season.
01:01:52 --> 01:02:01 [SPEAKER_04]: It was genuinely so fascinating and disturbing to watch, but it might have genuinely helped Heather deal with her trauma in a weird kinky way.
01:02:02 --> 01:02:04 [SPEAKER_04]: Can't wait to see what's next.
01:02:04 --> 01:02:08 [SPEAKER_04]: 4.5 Vital Spectrums out of 5.
01:02:08 --> 01:02:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Later's Alligators Arena.
01:02:11 --> 01:02:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent stuff, Arena.
01:02:13 --> 01:02:19 [SPEAKER_04]: great to get the old moonlight sign off there from you like to go.
01:02:19 --> 01:02:27 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, late as gate is and yeah, I mean, the whole thing with Heather and it was disturbing.
01:02:27 --> 01:02:31 [SPEAKER_04]: I think I found it fascinating in that I couldn't.
01:02:33 --> 01:02:43 [SPEAKER_04]: personally, whilst I could technically comprehend what was going on, I couldn't personally comprehend what an earth was happening between her and book.
01:02:43 --> 01:02:48 [SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I certainly wouldn't trust him to do any kind of co-therapy with me.
01:02:48 --> 01:02:58 [SPEAKER_04]: No, and I think again, bearing in mind what happens
01:02:58 --> 01:02:59 [SPEAKER_04]: therapy went.
01:02:59 --> 01:03:03 [SPEAKER_04]: And I think with that, here is Arena's episode 7 Thoughts.
01:03:03 --> 01:03:04 [SPEAKER_04]: Hello lads.
01:03:04 --> 01:03:08 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I was right about Daniel and man, what a way to go.
01:03:08 --> 01:03:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel and Book have very much been at the top of my favorite characters this season.
01:03:13 --> 01:03:17 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm excited to see what they're going to do with Book next season.
01:03:17 --> 01:03:24 [SPEAKER_04]: And if you continue to stay with Fisk, you genuinely like Daniel and didn't want to end him, Greta.
01:03:24 --> 01:03:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Heather needs a therapist desperately, and maybe in excess, that's absolutely completely agree.
01:03:32 --> 01:03:39 [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, Mahoney is back, yay, and Matt had a great dramatic entry back into the public eye.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:44 [SPEAKER_04]: I can go into detail about everything this episode, but it was just all really great.
01:03:44 --> 01:03:54 [SPEAKER_04]: The finale is going to pop off next week.
01:03:54 --> 01:03:56 [SPEAKER_04]: Great stuff, Rhina.
01:03:56 --> 01:03:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much for those two pieces of feedback.
01:03:58 --> 01:04:03 [SPEAKER_04]: The episode 6 and 7, that completely agree with the around Heather.
01:04:03 --> 01:04:10 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean at this stage, like I just had, I, I, I, I,
01:04:10 --> 01:04:15 [SPEAKER_04]: I want something really to happen to a where she kind of sits up and takes notice.
01:04:15 --> 01:04:16 [SPEAKER_04]: Like a picture, isn't it?
01:04:17 --> 01:04:18 [SPEAKER_04]: Yep, I think.
01:04:18 --> 01:04:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is about the right level of intervention that is required.
01:04:22 --> 01:04:25 [SPEAKER_02]: I just wonder with, with, I know this isn't.
01:04:25 --> 01:04:42 [SPEAKER_02]: isn't at all the point of your feedback, but I wonder with the Catholic ways of Matt Merdock, because have they ever done an exorcism story, you know, as it ever has ever been a character that he was up against, that they brought it an exorcist to take out the demon from inside them.
01:04:44 --> 01:04:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Being true, real devil's rage, you know.
01:04:46 --> 01:04:48 [SPEAKER_04]: That would be very interesting.
01:04:48 --> 01:05:02 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's got the hookups with the Catholic Church, you know, and maybe that's the way you're going to do it at some future story, I'm sure, and thank you so much for your thoughts, right, and we also have a voicemail in from Harrison Fox with his thoughts on episode 7 of Daredevil.
01:05:04 --> 01:05:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Hey guys, Harrison Fox, calling you in.
01:05:07 --> 01:05:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about.
01:05:08 --> 01:05:10 [SPEAKER_01]: episode seven of season two of Daredevil born again.
01:05:10 --> 01:05:15 [SPEAKER_01]: The second to last episode and did they bring out all the stops.
01:05:16 --> 01:05:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, every supporting character was back.
01:05:19 --> 01:05:24 [SPEAKER_01]: The emotions were running high, seeing everyone at their lowest point towards the end.
01:05:25 --> 01:05:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I really thought Buck was going to have a change of heart during Matt's prayer.
01:05:28 --> 01:05:29 [SPEAKER_01]: I know they weren't.
01:05:29 --> 01:05:30 [SPEAKER_01]: He didn't hear Matt's prayer.
01:05:30 --> 01:05:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I just felt that Buck was going to put the gun away, but
01:05:33 --> 01:05:43 [SPEAKER_01]: No, and there goes Daniel, a character who I really, when he was first introduced, I wasn't sure how I felt about him, and he grew to become one of my favorites, and I'm glad I was wrong about him.
01:05:44 --> 01:05:52 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I made a prediction a few weeks ago that he would parallel with Fisk did to BB's uncle, and he did not.
01:05:52 --> 01:05:54 [SPEAKER_01]: He went out very nobly, and
01:05:54 --> 01:05:59 [SPEAKER_01]: It was, it was heart wrenching, but I'm glad that they did the character justice.
01:06:00 --> 01:06:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Fisk completely unharmed except for a scratch on his cheek.
01:06:03 --> 01:06:11 [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm still thinking he slipped a little something, something, some sort of superhuman serum where we weren't looking at him.
01:06:12 --> 01:06:13 [SPEAKER_01]: No, fantastic episode.
01:06:13 --> 01:06:19 [SPEAKER_01]: The garage firefight totally intense.
01:06:19 --> 01:06:24 [SPEAKER_01]: seeing a, seeing bright back, like, come on, great, great episode.
01:06:25 --> 01:06:29 [SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait until next week, five out of five, just fabulous.
01:06:30 --> 01:06:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Talk to you guys later.
01:06:31 --> 01:06:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much Harrison.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:35 [SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't agree with you more around the five out of five.
01:06:36 --> 01:06:39 [SPEAKER_04]: It was such a good, good episode, totally with you on Daniel.
01:06:39 --> 01:06:41 [SPEAKER_04]: I think just having a
01:06:41 --> 01:06:53 [SPEAKER_04]: him save be the was superb and in a sense for that to be reconciled and but ultimately but couldn't reconcile his friendship with
01:06:54 --> 01:06:58 [SPEAKER_04]: with Daniel above the orders from Wilson Fisk.
01:06:58 --> 01:07:08 [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's the army in him, you know, as, as you say, with Helmond and Afghanistan and just that muscle memory of taking orders.
01:07:09 --> 01:07:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but he certainly had to fight it and I did like that there was
01:07:13 --> 01:07:30 [SPEAKER_02]: That chance even though it didn't pan out for shit Daniel's a great character Who was he was and you've just reminded me that Helmond has a D at the end and I've been I I genuinely just said Helmond Throughout the episode so you're doing the memoirs talk about the man is totally by accident as well
01:07:30 --> 01:07:35 [SPEAKER_02]: And the thanks so much, great to hear your voice, they're Harrison with your thoughts on the episode.
01:07:35 --> 01:07:40 [SPEAKER_02]: We also have an email in from Victor Cherry Von Doom on the episode, he says greetings defenders.
01:07:40 --> 01:07:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Look at the church bells on Karen facing down Fisk and budding lady muse, can't wait for that fight.
01:07:47 --> 01:07:48 [SPEAKER_02]: My money is on Karen.
01:07:48 --> 01:07:52 [SPEAKER_02]: Heather, don't know Karen trained with both Matt and Frank.
01:07:52 --> 01:07:57 [SPEAKER_02]: So Luke and possible Uncle Danny are working for Charles and Fowl.
01:07:57 --> 01:08:01 [SPEAKER_02]: I really love to see them in a cameo or post-credits scene, but I guess we'll get them next season.
01:08:02 --> 01:08:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Dexter did his good deed, but I sense he is far from first.
01:08:06 --> 01:08:08 [SPEAKER_02]: He is quite the chaos character.
01:08:08 --> 01:08:13 [SPEAKER_02]: Speaking of which Daniel's decision to say, BB was a sumplock chaos, but not entirely unexpected move.
01:08:14 --> 01:08:19 [SPEAKER_02]: BB, girl, I told you to skip 10 to episodes ago, hoping Matt Scambert works out.
01:08:19 --> 01:08:24 [SPEAKER_02]: The DD Deadpool updates with Daniel, the governor, and BB off the board.
01:08:24 --> 01:08:26 [SPEAKER_02]: Power remains at low odds for this season.
01:08:26 --> 01:08:29 [SPEAKER_02]: However, odds are growing Frank will visit him in his special.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:31 [SPEAKER_02]: Any other candidates at there?
01:08:31 --> 01:08:33 [SPEAKER_02]: Excelsior Victor Cherry von Dume.
01:08:34 --> 01:08:36 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much Victor!
01:08:37 --> 01:08:48 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely, kind of screaming at BB like drop it, you know, take the hint from Daniel because he had a few episodes ago really sort of laid it to her.
01:08:48 --> 01:08:48 [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
01:08:48 --> 01:08:56 [SPEAKER_04]: And I think, yes, lady news, I like you're thinking that because that's kind of the same feeling.
01:08:56 --> 01:09:01 [SPEAKER_04]: If I think the eyes are starting to look sort of,
01:09:01 --> 01:09:04 [SPEAKER_04]: dark and deep like muse had.
01:09:04 --> 01:09:11 [SPEAKER_04]: So I think there is this lady muse transformation that may just happen for sure.
01:09:11 --> 01:09:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
01:09:11 --> 01:09:15 [SPEAKER_04]: And Powell definitely needs to get his come offence.
01:09:16 --> 01:09:22 [SPEAKER_04]: And I think yes, Powell having his come offence at the hands of Frank.
01:09:22 --> 01:09:25 [SPEAKER_04]: I think it could be quite good in his special as well.
01:09:25 --> 01:09:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, kind of like that, you know, will end this season and power will still be alive.
01:09:29 --> 01:09:33 [SPEAKER_02]: It cuts to one week later and Frank is chasing him dead.
01:09:33 --> 01:09:40 [SPEAKER_02]: I think it'll be a great connection to have that because definitely they were literally total at the end of season one of
01:09:40 --> 01:09:55 [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want again, and we really have no idea where Frank's been since that point, so it would be great to see him up against Pile, even if it's the final scene in the episode or final scene in the special, that Frank puttable between Pile's eyes.
01:09:56 --> 01:09:58 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, absolutely remembers.
01:09:58 --> 01:09:59 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, lovely.
01:09:59 --> 01:10:02 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much Victor for your feedback.
01:10:02 --> 01:10:06 [SPEAKER_04]: Up next, Coffee and vodka says, greetings fellow Hail Mary Defenders.
01:10:07 --> 01:10:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Lots of moves on the Daredevil Caron Page, chessboard with a couple independent sides.
01:10:13 --> 01:10:19 [SPEAKER_04]: As soon as the governor's a sailor is found to be a member of the task force, Fisks, a goose should be cut.
01:10:19 --> 01:10:27 [SPEAKER_04]: And until I see Daniel's body on a slab with half its brain matter missing, the joys out on whether or not
01:10:27 --> 01:10:30 [SPEAKER_04]: or just ruined a perfectly good floorboards.
01:10:30 --> 01:10:35 [SPEAKER_04]: The interlude between Jessica and Agent Shaggy was informative.
01:10:35 --> 01:10:43 [SPEAKER_04]: Wonder if we'll see what Luke and the other Shang-Hai's heroes are up to in a future MCU project.
01:10:43 --> 01:11:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Lastly, it looks like Karen's time in court has been cut short, and Matt's been reduced to thoughts and prayers should be a hell of an ending for a half caged pages,
01:11:08 --> 01:11:15 [SPEAKER_04]: the shop from book and whether we went to the side on the basis of what Daniel was also saying.
01:11:16 --> 01:11:17 [SPEAKER_04]: So that's kind of interesting.
01:11:17 --> 01:11:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:11:18 --> 01:11:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Is he to, and now I'm questioning everything I've watched.
01:11:22 --> 01:11:24 [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like he's dead, though.
01:11:24 --> 01:11:25 [SPEAKER_04]: I feel like he's there.
01:11:25 --> 01:11:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Let's hope so, because I nailed my colours to the mask on that one, but that would be interesting.
01:11:31 --> 01:11:39 [SPEAKER_02]: I know, well, look, as you say, if there's a funeral or a body on a slab, but that was very missing, that's the only way to guarantee it, it's a colour book show as well.
01:11:39 --> 01:11:52 [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, we might see, might just see him back, but I think we'll probably take the pair out of the scene for me, it was going to be a big pair of old scene, and felt like that's the only way it could go, so yeah, I think he's gone.
01:11:53 --> 01:11:59 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, really I'm hoping though that we will see our other defender heroes in a future MCU project.
01:11:59 --> 01:12:04 [SPEAKER_02]: They missed out on all of the Avengers stuff back in the day when they're on Netflix.
01:12:04 --> 01:12:06 [SPEAKER_02]: They never were able to be used now.
01:12:06 --> 01:12:07 [SPEAKER_02]: They're back in the universe.
01:12:08 --> 01:12:13 [SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully we'll get to see them in some on the big screen, even just for a cameo in the future.
01:12:13 --> 01:12:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Well, they're filming around around New York for for Darren Hull season three.
01:12:17 --> 01:12:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I hope so.
01:12:18 --> 01:12:18 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:12:18 --> 01:12:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
01:12:19 --> 01:12:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Fantastic.
01:12:20 --> 01:12:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, coffee and vodka.
01:12:21 --> 01:12:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:12:21 --> 01:12:22 [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, coffee and vodka.
01:12:22 --> 01:12:29 [SPEAKER_02]: And finally, on email, Merrill Smith says, welcome back, and here we are again in court, which means the return of everyone's favorite character, Matthew Murdock.
01:12:29 --> 01:12:34 [SPEAKER_02]: I heard he's a really good lawyer, and he's not an interaction between Kingpin and another person.
01:12:34 --> 01:12:41 [SPEAKER_02]: It's always an interesting and extremely tense situation, because you never know how it's going to go, whether they'll come out of it alive or not.
01:12:41 --> 01:12:46 [SPEAKER_02]: So I did worry for Karen, but as a approach for her to deal with her, it was something that I didn't even see coming.
01:12:47 --> 01:12:56 [SPEAKER_02]: Matt making the calculated risky choice of letting decks and hoping that he'll do the right thing will probably one of those choices that Matt will add to his ever growing list of things to feel bad about.
01:12:56 --> 01:13:02 [SPEAKER_02]: And while I did pay off, I don't think this means that he won't lock him back up after this is all over.
01:13:02 --> 01:13:06 [SPEAKER_02]: It's just in this precarious situation he's being forced to make unique decisions.
01:13:06 --> 01:13:09 [SPEAKER_02]: I welcome return of Brett Mahoney, I'm glad to show you remembered.
01:13:09 --> 01:13:10 [SPEAKER_02]: He exists too.
01:13:11 --> 01:13:19 [SPEAKER_02]: I saw that someone online described book Heather Andaniel as the dark mirror of Matt Karen and foggy and I think that's a pretty appropriate assessment.
01:13:19 --> 01:13:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
01:13:19 --> 01:13:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it is.
01:13:20 --> 01:13:21 [SPEAKER_02]: That's really good.
01:13:21 --> 01:13:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Having Karen and Heather in the same room after all this time for the specific reason that shows what path Karen would have gone down if she truly lost hope and gave into that piss of despair.
01:13:31 --> 01:13:39 [SPEAKER_02]: Also, the more hint Heather becomes, the hotter she becomes, which may mean I need to talk to a therapist at my thoughts on this therapist.
01:13:39 --> 01:13:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Also, when a Heather brought up Fred Castle, it reminded me of something I wanted to bring up by Book and Heather.
01:13:44 --> 01:13:49 [SPEAKER_02]: It reminded me of that dynamic, Billy and his doctor from Punisher season two similar vibes.
01:13:49 --> 01:13:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, very good.
01:13:50 --> 01:13:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:13:51 --> 01:13:51 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can see that.
01:13:52 --> 01:13:53 [SPEAKER_02]: And that's released.
01:13:53 --> 01:13:53 [SPEAKER_02]: That's really good.
01:13:54 --> 01:13:54 [SPEAKER_02]: Merrill.
01:13:54 --> 01:13:59 [SPEAKER_02]: She continues finally the man of the aerodanial special shade head to Michael Gandalfini and his amazing performances.
01:13:59 --> 01:14:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Daniel was nothing but absolutely phenomenal.
01:14:03 --> 01:14:06 [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised if he got on a award for it, which he does deserve.
01:14:06 --> 01:14:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
01:14:06 --> 01:14:11 [SPEAKER_02]: Or IP Daniel, you were a fun addition and it will be different with you gone in other news.
01:14:11 --> 01:14:16 [SPEAKER_02]: We got a nice update in the cage via a nice threatening heart tower between Jessica and Mr. Charles.
01:14:17 --> 01:14:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Also, I loved her return to Matt at the end, as he's praying, almost like an angel visiting the devil.
01:14:22 --> 01:14:23 [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that was purposeful or not.
01:14:24 --> 01:14:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Also, I'm rereading some of Alias and Jessica Jones, so seeing her wearing those iconic shades was everything to me.
01:14:30 --> 01:14:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Four book shots from book.
01:14:32 --> 01:14:33 [SPEAKER_02]: actually five.
01:14:34 --> 01:14:36 [SPEAKER_04]: Great stuff, Merrill.
01:14:36 --> 01:14:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Really enjoyed that feedback and yeah again I think that mirroring of Matt, Counter and Fog, you can put Kevin Daniel really good sort of spot there.
01:14:50 --> 01:14:51 [SPEAKER_04]: And
01:14:51 --> 01:15:08 [SPEAKER_04]: and yes I've probably said you know about Heather Glenn and certainly I think the old the music is coming to Heather and I think the other the vibes the between book and Heather
01:15:08 --> 01:15:12 [SPEAKER_04]: and the dynamic of Billy and his doctor in season two of the punishers.
01:15:12 --> 01:15:14 [SPEAKER_04]: That's a really good catch too.
01:15:14 --> 01:15:17 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and you're crazy.
01:15:17 --> 01:15:23 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that the MCU, the MCU version of New York got some very, very weird characters.
01:15:23 --> 01:15:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, definitely.
01:15:24 --> 01:15:29 [SPEAKER_02]: So I loved getting the thoughts that Merrill really good take.
01:15:29 --> 01:15:29 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
01:15:29 --> 01:15:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, Merrill.
01:15:30 --> 01:15:35 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure though if Jessica could have ever be seen as an angel coming to visit the devil though.
01:15:35 --> 01:15:40 [SPEAKER_02]: I see what you mean, if it was any other character, but she has her own demons as well.
01:15:40 --> 01:15:41 [SPEAKER_02]: But she's changed a lot.
01:15:42 --> 01:15:44 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure since we've had Danielle in the picture, right?
01:15:45 --> 01:15:45 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
01:15:46 --> 01:15:46 [SPEAKER_02]: Excellent stuff.
01:15:46 --> 01:15:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, Marl.
01:15:47 --> 01:15:49 [SPEAKER_02]: And onto our discord feedback, John.
01:15:49 --> 01:15:52 [SPEAKER_04]: Yet, Dr. Bob says, oh, my word, word to start.
01:15:52 --> 01:16:00 [SPEAKER_04]: The brilliant and tortured moral dilemma of Daniel, may he rest in the halls of Asgard as the All Heroes should
01:16:00 --> 01:16:13 [SPEAKER_04]: The lonely god of fisk blazing to bright and breaking bull's eye managing to write the scales, perhaps, and intermittently band us Jessica Jones probably coming to save the day.
01:16:13 --> 01:16:22 [SPEAKER_04]: And that's not touching on where BB might release with Daniel's death or what Karen has managed to do to Dr. Psychosis.
01:16:22 --> 01:16:33 [SPEAKER_04]: Or the slight awkward feel of the plot needing councillor McMuffin to have slew devil turn up as co-council for the big trial.
01:16:33 --> 01:16:36 [SPEAKER_04]: Did they really need to bring in the man?
01:16:36 --> 01:16:45 [SPEAKER_04]: Well yes, but acknowledging she could have handled it on her own in the script and it's for a different bait that mats there would have been nice.
01:16:45 --> 01:16:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks, Dr. Bob.
01:16:47 --> 01:16:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, totally take those points on around old councillor Muffin requiring suit devil for sure, and Dr. Sidegoses.
01:17:00 --> 01:17:02 [SPEAKER_04]: Healthcare.
01:17:04 --> 01:17:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a really interesting point that that about makes, though, isn't it that, you know, Christian could obviously have handled this case in any other Coral land that's not what, that's not saying that maths there to win the case, they're both there to present the case to the court of public opinion through the cameras, and the best way to do that is to bring in the person that was the hero that saved Fisk to say to the world,
01:17:25 --> 01:17:26 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not on his side, guys.
01:17:27 --> 01:17:28 [SPEAKER_02]: I'm on the side of Karen Page.
01:17:28 --> 01:17:32 [SPEAKER_02]: She's being prosecuted by a false kangaroo court here.
01:17:32 --> 01:17:34 [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, really, really good stuff.
01:17:34 --> 01:17:35 [SPEAKER_02]: Thanks, Dr. Bob.
01:17:35 --> 01:17:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Jason B says, Yikes, what a way to end the episode.
01:17:38 --> 01:17:42 [SPEAKER_02]: I really thought they were going to get in the root of following Daniel's descent into evil.
01:17:42 --> 01:17:44 [SPEAKER_02]: As soon as you let BB go, I knew it was over for him.
01:17:45 --> 01:17:47 [SPEAKER_02]: A little confused why Matt showed up to court like that.
01:17:47 --> 01:17:52 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe I missed it, but it seems to have only caused unnecessary danger to everyone.
01:17:52 --> 01:17:58 [SPEAKER_02]: A little bit of redemption for decks, but I'm starting to wonder if he's gonna have a bigger role in bringing down Fisk.
01:17:58 --> 01:17:59 [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he'll do what Matt can't.
01:18:00 --> 01:18:01 [SPEAKER_02]: Can't wait to see the final episode.
01:18:01 --> 01:18:04 [SPEAKER_02]: I absolutely love this season.
01:18:04 --> 01:18:06 [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so much Jason.
01:18:06 --> 01:18:08 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, totally with you.
01:18:09 --> 01:18:16 [SPEAKER_04]: The season has been really super, but I think this has been one of the strongest episodes of the season.
01:18:16 --> 01:18:34 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm really hoping old point-dexter is still around for the final episodes as well, because I absolutely adore this character.
01:18:34 --> 01:18:38 [SPEAKER_04]: of just bringing bullseye to life over the years.
01:18:38 --> 01:18:39 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:18:39 --> 01:18:40 [SPEAKER_02]: Off to his own season.
01:18:41 --> 01:18:42 [SPEAKER_02]: Er, I don't see a really great, yeah.
01:18:42 --> 01:18:45 [SPEAKER_04]: But even that he is the big, he's the big bat.
01:18:45 --> 01:18:50 [SPEAKER_04]: You know, is that kind of thing rather than Wilson Fisk?
01:18:50 --> 01:18:52 [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, lovely thoughts.
01:18:52 --> 01:18:53 [SPEAKER_04]: The Jason Thanks so much.
01:18:53 --> 01:18:57 [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely not everybody satisfied with this episode of the show.
01:18:57 --> 01:19:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Joe Herbert says the court and stuff seems to be just an after-top and thought in this series there are too many characters and things going on on this show to do many of them well for me.
01:19:07 --> 01:19:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Joe also mentioned that he hasn't ever watched the original Daredevil shows on Netflix so he's finding a quite difficult when characters from the show pop-in.
01:19:15 --> 01:19:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Everybody gets really excited about characters.
01:19:17 --> 01:19:24 [SPEAKER_02]: They've seen before and he's never seen the before so I've been a bit of a different perspective from from those of us that have watched throughout the five seasons of Daredevil.
01:19:24 --> 01:19:34 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah Yeah, yeah, absolutely I can see how that'd be confusing for definitely, but those seasons are on doesn't it plus I would highly recommend going and watching them Yeah, yeah
01:19:34 --> 01:19:41 [SPEAKER_04]: but thanks for the feedback there Joe and also Glamd says everything felt incredibly rushed this episode.
01:19:41 --> 01:19:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Matt busting into the courtroom to do absolutely nothing switching around between opening statements made it so that neither of them really amounted to anything.
01:19:50 --> 01:19:55 [SPEAKER_04]: Matt, I think a serial killer go and just trusting he's done killing.
01:19:55 --> 01:20:05 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel choosing BB over himself was a really good moment though, and giving himself up to Bork when he knows he's going to die instead of fleeing, with BB wasn't odd choice.
01:20:06 --> 01:20:14 [SPEAKER_04]: I love that Matt went to the church in his desperate moment, I'll never get over not having another father, Lantham.
01:20:14 --> 01:20:15 [SPEAKER_04]: wisdom dump.
01:20:15 --> 01:20:17 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:20:17 --> 01:20:20 [SPEAKER_02]: That those scenes are definitely missed in the show here.
01:20:20 --> 01:20:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Those moments when Matt was able to have somebody to bench Eddie as off.
01:20:24 --> 01:20:27 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, not having foggy and not having father laughs absolutely.
01:20:28 --> 01:20:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Two people that were very close to Matt and were able to kind of be his conscience in the past.
01:20:32 --> 01:20:36 [SPEAKER_02]: Matt has to take on being the conscience for everybody, really, doesn't he?
01:20:36 --> 01:20:37 [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's kind of amazing.
01:20:37 --> 01:21:04 [SPEAKER_02]: position this season and things do move really fast again as I mean I'd episode season uh this season so uh so they do uh tend to deliver things much quicker so we heard a couple of weeks ago people asking for Matt to reveal himself as Daredevil we heard uh for him to come out of the darkness and uh share that he is alive and here he is making that decision right in front of the cameras for everybody so hope that makes a little bit more sense as we've talked through the episode uh but thanks so much to Lombie for your feedback.
01:21:04 --> 01:21:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah thanks Lombie.
01:21:05 --> 01:21:06 [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, what a Facebook.
01:21:06 --> 01:21:22 [SPEAKER_02]: We have some feedback in from Harvey Locust who said I have to say I really don't like Karen and this episode cemented that feeling I completely forgotten mass and Heather were together until Karen rubbed it in during her psych evaluation Or you don't like mass either so I'll move on
01:21:22 --> 01:21:32 [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about Mr. Charles and Jessica, that scene felt weird, something about the way Jessica reacted when Charles brought up him being her only access to Luke, can't quite put my finger on it.
01:21:32 --> 01:21:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I understand that he is her daughter's father, and that he, and most likely Danny, are in some way working for Val, but she seemed overly threatened by us.
01:21:41 --> 01:21:53 [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, maybe it's nothing, what I'm really hoping for in the next episode is a reveal that the weapons from the ship were being moved by Val for Agent 13 aka Sharon Karzer aka the Powerbroker.
01:21:53 --> 01:21:59 [SPEAKER_02]: As for an added bonus, I really hope that Frank's one last kill is pal.
01:21:59 --> 01:22:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely hardly ever drank one last kill.
01:22:04 --> 01:22:17 [SPEAKER_02]: I think everyone seems to be wishing for last Yeah, and yeah, I think they are I heard rumors that we will actually get sharing character back in vision quest That she's going to be in multiple Again, that's the last place you saw.
01:22:17 --> 01:22:19 [SPEAKER_04]: It would be nice to get power broke you back
01:22:19 --> 01:22:30 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we know that the actual weapons were supposed to be destined for South Africa weather for a conflict there, and never made it there, and there that had been curploded as well.
01:22:30 --> 01:22:33 [SPEAKER_02]: I was supposed to share that as a no weapons, no weapon smuggling, right?
01:22:34 --> 01:22:35 [SPEAKER_04]: I guess so.
01:22:35 --> 01:22:38 [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I know I think on Karen, I'm...
01:22:38 --> 01:22:41 [SPEAKER_04]: I think I'd just dislike Heather even more.
01:22:41 --> 01:22:42 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yes, for sure.
01:22:42 --> 01:22:58 [SPEAKER_04]: But thanks for the thoughts, Harvey, and also on Facebook, Mathematician says, as we see a shot of Manhattan in the distance, a little glimpse of Watch Tower, fully known as Stark Tower in the background, always makes you feel like you're back in the place where you love to be.
01:22:58 --> 01:23:15 [SPEAKER_04]: This spots the missing earring that Heather stole, and it looks like he wants to find out who took it before heading down to prison to have words with Karen, but she has the great fruits to step up and look him in the eye, giving in some home truths, even as she is being throttled good for her.
01:23:16 --> 01:23:19 [SPEAKER_04]: Cherry to the rescue, putting the reins on Matt as he wants.
01:23:20 --> 01:23:30 [SPEAKER_04]: to bust Karen out of her cell while Jess reminds him of the same thing Karen reminded him of in episode six that it's you or him, Fisk won't stop.
01:23:30 --> 01:23:38 [SPEAKER_04]: And Matt has actually got some experience of that from the fight down in at Red Hook.
01:23:38 --> 01:23:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Mathematician continues, Matt has an offer of redemption for Poindexter, and I'd like to say here how amazing Bethlehem has been in this season.
01:23:47 --> 01:23:58 [SPEAKER_04]: I've credited the likes of Gandalfini and Lillard during the weekly shows, but Bullseye's character has also been brought to life wonderfully by this actor who I've not seen in anything else.
01:23:58 --> 01:24:14 [SPEAKER_04]: Mahoney of Punisher and Daredevil's Netflix era fame, let's Karen know he pulled Rank together in the friendly cell and then allows her a minute with Matt who tells her he has a plan due to the nature of Fisk wanting to nail Karen legally on TV.
01:24:15 --> 01:24:17 [SPEAKER_04]: Does he want to defend her in court?
01:24:17 --> 01:24:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Kingpink wants a subordinate DA Hockbird's Dodge Caram with everything, again, amazing fort site by Scarter Paint and his creative team who wrote these scripts 18 months ago so how things were about to pan out in the real world with handpicked DA's in place to serve one and only one person.
01:24:35 --> 01:24:44 [SPEAKER_04]: Baffle as to how Fisk knows it was Glenn who stole the earring.
01:24:44 --> 01:24:51 [SPEAKER_04]: BB and Blake argue over how Daniel deals with Book, who wants to get his hands on BB.
01:24:52 --> 01:25:00 [SPEAKER_04]: Difficult say at this point of Blake's loyalties, will land with BB or Book really well played out storyline here so far.
01:25:00 --> 01:25:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Back in court, McDuffy and Hockberg in a corrupt tribunal solicitor that happened to Jack.
01:25:07 --> 01:25:35 [SPEAKER_04]: Ducane, this time led by Justice Wells, but as it is being filmed for TV, McDuffie plays a wild card in a scene that reminded me of episode 8 of She-Hulk with Murdoch storming through the doors of the courtroom back practicing law as McDuffie's co-counsel, that Murdoch for the defense you're on a disc is fuming as McAfrey senses this is her opportunity and calls the attorney general to help.
01:25:35 --> 01:25:38 [SPEAKER_04]: her put an end to Kingpin's reign.
01:25:38 --> 01:25:44 [SPEAKER_04]: Daniel appears to do the right thing along BB to escape and yet another innocent life is taken.
01:25:44 --> 01:25:53 [SPEAKER_04]: This time a cop gets his brains blown out which could have been avoided if massive killed fisk many of the multiple occasions he has had chance to do.
01:25:54 --> 01:26:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Matt takes a bull himself and bulls out, pays Matt back for letting him live by saving McAfrey's life, doing a good deed for once in his life.
01:26:03 --> 01:26:10 [SPEAKER_04]: Podangil takes an almighty beating from Brook and heather turns up to a valley-weight Karen psychological stays in prison.
01:26:11 --> 01:26:20 [SPEAKER_04]: A battle of wit since use, and Glenn gets angry with Karen, resorting to physical abuse after Karen cleverly pushes her buttons.
01:26:20 --> 01:26:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Matt's in a bad way, Karen is in a bad way, Daniel is in a very bad way, and Fisk is also in a bad way, and then of course Daniel is dead.
01:26:32 --> 01:26:39 [SPEAKER_04]: Shockingly, despairing, and to a wonderful hour of TV, great stuff can't wait for the finale next week.
01:26:40 --> 01:26:45 [SPEAKER_04]: Rest in peace Daniel, I'll have all five fingers of that mitches this week, please barman.
