The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 One-Shots Synopsis

Head Writer and Developed by - Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Episode written by: Judalina Neira

Episode directed by: Phil Sgriccia

Synopsis: Firecracker is asked by her former reverend for help after his church is vandalized, because he won’t move to the teachings of the Democratic Church of America. When the church is later raided and the Pastor arrested, a troubled and torn Firecracker gives a defamatory news report about him.

Meanwhile, Black Noir struggles not only with his partnership with The Deep, but also with his identity as he tries to balance being in The Seven with his commitments to a local theater group. As tensions rise, The Deep kills the play director, Adam Bourke, a la Conger Eel as he reasserts his control over Black Noir.

At the Boys makeshift laboratory Frenchie continues to develop the virus while Mothers Milk searches for Bombsite and the remaining V1. After a close call between chocolate and his beloved dog Terror, Butcher finally agrees that he will allow Annie and Kimiko to take it when (if) they find it.

Back at Vought Tower Sister Sage warns Ashley that Homelander must not obtain V1. When Ashley asks what the angle is, Sister Sage says peace! More specifically her own peace and quiet with a book and no longer harassed by Homelander. To do this she is planning World War Supe to ensure humans and Supes ultimately kill each other. She needs back-Ashley’s help finding out Soldier Boy's plans and as a reward Bashley and Ashley will be allowed to join Sage in her bunker.

In the basement, Homelander and Soldier Boy interrogate Stan Edgar, who points them to Mister Marathon, a former member of the Seven now residing in Los Angeles. Mister Marathon and his friend Malchemical try to turn Soldier Boy against Homelander after Malchemical incapacitates him, but he refuses and kills Malchemical. During a pursuit, Marathon accidentally kills his celebrity friends running into them at every step of the way. Soldier Boy finally brings him to a halt with lots and lots of Daddy Puff’s baby oil and incapacitates him with a heavy dose of snap, crackle and pop of his breaking bones. After getting confirmation from Mister Marathon that Bombsight has V1, Homelander kills him.

Back at Vought Tower, after learning Firecracker has been sleeping with his father and also the nature of her post-coital chit chat and Firecracker’s doubts, Homelander asks her to pack her bags and go. Firecracker pleads with him for her to stay saying she is the only one that has ever loved him. As she pushes it too far Homelander makes her a permanent feature of Vought Tower as he kills her. Death by eagle wing, as he pins her head to the right wing of an all American bald eagle.

04:06 --> 04:13 [SPEAKER_06]: This is based on the comics series by Garth Ellis and Derek Robertson and the executive producer for the show are Star, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.
04:13 --> 04:18 [SPEAKER_06]: The episode is written by Judith Lena Nierra, there's the second of three episodes that she writes.
04:18 --> 04:25 [SPEAKER_06]: for the boys and she has written the final episode for this season as well which is quite cool and this episode was directed by Phil Scrickier.
04:26 --> 04:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Phil is a legendary director for shows featuring Eric Kripke or Baya or Kripke having directed
04:33 --> 04:34 [SPEAKER_06]: Almost a hundred episodes, not really.
04:35 --> 04:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Lots and lots of episodes of supernatural.
04:37 --> 04:44 [SPEAKER_06]: So this is a big reunion for him and the supernatural boys in this episode One of the most prolific directors, I guess, for supernatural.
04:44 --> 04:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff.
04:45 --> 04:46 [SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff back.
04:46 --> 04:50 [SPEAKER_06]: So John, do you want to tell us what they gave us in supernatural visits the boys?
04:51 --> 04:53 [SPEAKER_06]: I mean the boys season five episode five.
04:54 --> 04:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Sure
04:55 --> 05:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Firecracker is asked by her former Reverend for help after his church is vandalised because he won't move to the teachings of the Democratic Church of America.
05:04 --> 05:11 [SPEAKER_05]: When the church is later raided and the pastor arrested, a troubled and torn firecracker gives a defoundary news report about him.
05:11 --> 05:21 [SPEAKER_05]: Meanwhile, Black Noir struggles not only with his partnership with the Deep, but also with his identity, as he tries to balance being in the 7 with his commitments to a local theatre group.
05:21 --> 05:30 [SPEAKER_05]: As tensions rise, the Deep kills the play director Adam Bork, Alokonga El, as he reasserts his control over Black Noir.
05:30 --> 05:37 [SPEAKER_05]: At the boys make shift laboratory Frenchy continues to develop the virus while mothers milk searches for bombsite and the remaining V1.
05:38 --> 05:49 [SPEAKER_05]: After a close call between chocolate and his beloved dog terror, butcher finally agrees that he will allow Annie and Camico to take V1 when or if they find it.
05:49 --> 05:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Back at Valk Tower, Sister Sage Worms, actually that homelander must not obtain the one.
05:55 --> 05:59 [SPEAKER_05]: And Ashley asks what the angle is Sister Sage says peace.
06:00 --> 06:04 [SPEAKER_05]: More specifically, her own peace and quiet with a book and no longer harassed by homelander.
06:05 --> 06:08 [SPEAKER_05]: To do this, she is planning World War Soup.
06:08 --> 06:11 [SPEAKER_05]: to ensure humans' soups ultimately kill each other.
06:11 --> 06:21 [SPEAKER_05]: She needs back Ashley's help finding out soldier boys plans and, as a reward, Ashley and Ashley will be allowed to join Sage in her bunker.
06:21 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_05]: In the basement, homeland and soldier boy interrogates Stan Edgar who points them to Mr. Marathon, a former member of the seven now residing in Los Angeles.
06:31 --> 06:48 [SPEAKER_05]: Mr. Marathon and his friend, Malchemical tries to turn soldier boy against home under after Malchemical incapacitates him, but he refuses and kills Malchemical during a pursuit marathon accidentally kills his celebrity friends running into them at every step of the way.
06:48 --> 06:59 [SPEAKER_05]: Soldier Boy finally brings him to a halt with lots and lots of deadly puffs baby oil and incapacitates him with a heavy dose of snap crackle and pop of his breaking bones.
06:59 --> 07:05 [SPEAKER_05]: After getting confirmation from Mr. Marathon, the bombsite has V1, home under Killsin.
07:05 --> 07:17 [SPEAKER_05]: Back at Vort Tower, after learning Freycracker has been sleeping with his father, and also the nature of her post-quietal chitchat, and Freycracker's doubts, home under asks her to pack her bags and go.
07:17 --> 07:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Freycracker pleads with him for her to stay, saying she is the only one that has ever loved him.
07:24 --> 07:30 [SPEAKER_05]: As she pushes it too far, home under makes her a permanent feature at Vort Tower as he kills her.
07:30 --> 07:36 [SPEAKER_05]: Death by Eagle Wing, as he pins a head to the right wing of an all-American ball of Eagle.
07:36 --> 07:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, brood tool, kids.
07:40 --> 07:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, I'm very, very tense here.
07:41 --> 07:45 [SPEAKER_05]: That'd be good, really, and so well done.
07:45 --> 07:51 [SPEAKER_05]: But it's always the same with home under when he has this, um, you know, anti-star, just
07:51 --> 07:55 [SPEAKER_05]: the way it's drawn out here made me really uncomfortable.
07:55 --> 08:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we watched the episodes a couple of times as our listeners will know before watching them and I think you've covered your eyes every time.
08:02 --> 08:03 [SPEAKER_05]: But watch this episode.
08:03 --> 08:12 [SPEAKER_05]: Even the second time of watching, it was just like that length of time between the last word and home-under-doing.
08:12 --> 08:14 [SPEAKER_05]: It's just like, yes.
08:14 --> 08:15 [SPEAKER_05]: way too long.
08:15 --> 08:16 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, but in a good way.
08:16 --> 08:17 [SPEAKER_06]: Let's just that pause.
08:17 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_06]: It makes you wonder what's coming next.
08:19 --> 08:21 [SPEAKER_06]: Even when you know what's coming next.
08:21 --> 08:22 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, exactly.
08:23 --> 08:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Let's get into our moments for the episode genre top moments.
08:26 --> 08:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
08:27 --> 08:31 [SPEAKER_05]: Let's start off with our boy's or protagonist moment.
08:31 --> 08:46 [SPEAKER_06]: And weirdly, in the structure of this episode, I wish we were doing our top five points because the structure of this episode is really five major things that happen, but in the structure of this particular episode there is really only one boys moment because it's all seen from the perspective of
08:46 --> 08:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Terror the wonder dog.
08:49 --> 08:53 [SPEAKER_06]: So, John, I think you're gonna kick off kick us off with the boys moment which is upset.
08:53 --> 09:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, obviously it's sort of couching the terms or the viewpoint of Tarrat the the bulldog and in particular his various dreams of home and
09:06 --> 09:17 [SPEAKER_05]: and his domination, his domination, which ultimately is given true form in the real world with a fairly crispy home and a doll.
09:17 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Well saying it's both love and unwashed there as you always say.
09:24 --> 09:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Just the description of from Kamiko going, did I make a opinion where it come not?
09:28 --> 09:36 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I'd suddenly thought Cronauts, and I'm like, okay, not loving them again.
09:36 --> 09:43 [SPEAKER_06]: But I do love the idea that terror is envisaging the real homeland or every time he makes it with the toy.
09:43 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
09:45 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_05]: So it's all catching those terms.
09:46 --> 09:55 [SPEAKER_05]: But I think ultimately, given terrors close call with a chocolate souffle, which almost kills him off.
09:55 --> 10:07 [SPEAKER_05]: You'd kind of have almost a little bit of a moment of reconciliation of a trained Billy Butcher and Huey, because Huey saves and Tara, along with Billy Butcher.
10:07 --> 10:09 [SPEAKER_05]: So they're kind of working together again.
10:09 --> 10:25 [SPEAKER_05]: And Huey's kind of maybe sees a little different side or of Billy Butcher in terms of his kindness is concerned for his pet dog, Tara, and Billy
10:26 --> 10:50 [SPEAKER_05]: his humanity kind of comes racing through breaches for a split second, but in that, and you see Billy Butcher offering to Huey that, you know, if or when they find the remaining V1, they track that down that Camico and Starlight can have some, and so that the virus that they will then deploy won't kill them.
10:50 --> 10:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so, and you know, he's kind of
10:54 --> 11:05 [SPEAKER_05]: acquiesce to Huey's at least overarching thought and point of trying to keep their allies alive in Kamiko and Starlight.
11:05 --> 11:06 [SPEAKER_05]: However, that is done.
11:07 --> 11:12 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I want to highlight the kind of that you said there because it is really butcher here.
11:12 --> 11:14 [SPEAKER_06]: He is still in A-Hell as he always has been.
11:15 --> 11:16 [SPEAKER_06]: So it's
11:16 --> 11:22 [SPEAKER_06]: If it doesn't screw us, you can use the V1 only on Kameko and Starlight not on me as well.
11:22 --> 11:24 [SPEAKER_06]: That's the other part of the deal.
11:24 --> 11:25 [SPEAKER_06]: It doesn't want any part of it at all.
11:26 --> 11:32 [SPEAKER_06]: And if they get the virus before Huey gets access to the V1, well, all bets are off.
11:32 --> 11:33 [SPEAKER_06]: We use the virus immediately.
11:33 --> 11:35 [SPEAKER_06]: So this isn't a pact between the two.
11:36 --> 11:37 [SPEAKER_06]: We're saying we'll definitely happen.
11:37 --> 11:53 [SPEAKER_06]: If all of these conditions are mass, I can now see why you want to keep your future wife and one of your best friends alive, because my dog almost died from eating chocolate, it's basically what Billy's best friend is, I mean it's hugely conditional, just a bit, for sure.
11:54 --> 11:57 [SPEAKER_05]: But it is kind of a moment of
11:57 --> 12:12 [SPEAKER_05]: for between these two, yes, and, you know, it's a little bit of an olive branch, and, you know, a flock of John Mood Doves in the moment, and that,
12:12 --> 12:14 [SPEAKER_05]: Billy but Jen Huey have here.
12:14 --> 12:16 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, and I just don't want to overplay it.
12:16 --> 12:17 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, agreed.
12:17 --> 12:18 [SPEAKER_06]: So last three at the last four episodes.
12:18 --> 12:30 [SPEAKER_06]: We've said Billy but you're just always an A-hole will be forever This doesn't change that but he can see a little crack of Of life coming into his character because his dog almost died.
12:30 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Huey saved him.
12:31 --> 12:37 [SPEAKER_06]: So therefore he's a late possibly saved his girlfriend if conditions are rich Exactly, yeah, yeah, really good
12:37 --> 12:44 [SPEAKER_06]: As we said, this is a shared port, so I'm going to just talk about the other tiny thing that's mentioned in here, which I think is really important.
12:46 --> 12:50 [SPEAKER_06]: I think everybody was focused on what was going on with Black New-R in the season so far.
12:50 --> 12:55 [SPEAKER_06]: We talked about that, that actually he was just pretty silent because he was kind of ped off and terrified by what was going to happen.
12:56 --> 12:58 [SPEAKER_06]: What was happening, and we'll talk a bit more about him later on.
12:58 --> 13:02 [SPEAKER_06]: The thing that we didn't really talk about much this season is how different M.M.
13:02 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_06]: has been.
13:03 --> 13:22 [SPEAKER_06]: And we kind of learn pretty quickly here in this episode or in this scene when he drops the Snickers bar at the floor at it rolls across some pubes, I think, has Billy points out and then he picks it up and eats it and goes tasty, and that actually he has changed significantly because he realizes that he is more than likely going to die and he's kind of accepted it.
13:22 --> 13:29 [SPEAKER_06]: So he's running into his future death, the way Billy Butcher runs into his future death, and he doesn't really care about it anymore.
13:29 --> 13:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's quite relaxed about this and he's relaxed about not in a sense going back to his wife and child Yeah, and that they're better off without him.
13:40 --> 13:45 [SPEAKER_05]: He's more than likely going to be dead anyway so
13:45 --> 13:52 [SPEAKER_05]: That's all the inhibition, all the tension has gone and he's more than happy to go with the flow.
13:52 --> 14:04 [SPEAKER_05]: Even if that means that his chocolate bar falls on the floor and runs across dust, pubes, or other forms of pet, dandom, I guess, and so yeah.
14:04 --> 14:06 [SPEAKER_05]: No, no longer does that change mental.
14:06 --> 14:07 [SPEAKER_05]: state here.
14:07 --> 14:16 [SPEAKER_06]: So no longer the man that watches his hands 15 times for every day, you know, this is a guy that's happy enough to eat his chocolate bar off the floor.
14:16 --> 14:23 [SPEAKER_06]: And so yeah, I think it's an interesting revelation for the character around them, you know, because he hasn't really said it out loud.
14:23 --> 14:52 [SPEAKER_06]: So far, it certainly hasn't told Billy and it's kind of sad because, you know, he's the family was so important to him throughout the first couple of seasons The reason he got into this fight was because of his father being killed by by the soups for his For him using his lawyer abilities to try and take them then and Here he is effectively giving up on his family, giving up on his future and saying that he will actually sacrifice himself If that's what needs to happen because he believes he's going to die in this war.
14:52 --> 14:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah.
14:54 --> 14:57 [SPEAKER_06]: Anything else about the moments that we have here through the eyes of terror, John?
14:57 --> 15:20 [SPEAKER_05]: I think just, you know, the fact that we do see and hear that Kameko and French are still having, you know, not, not problems so much, but that there is some, there is a change between the two of them which makes them come across as less compatible and you have Frenchy speaking to terror about Kameko
15:20 --> 15:39 [SPEAKER_05]: or how he could give her a normal life, even if he could, you know, and he's still trying to sort of balance out maybe what's been said over the last couple of episodes around the changes that commico's experience and that actually they have two different focuses now.
15:39 --> 15:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Berlin nightclub or you know, log cabin by the lake with children.
15:44 --> 15:45 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, very different.
15:45 --> 15:46 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's pretty
15:46 --> 15:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Um, when his chapter two, if I didn't work, he threw it in the bay and almost killed terror.
15:52 --> 15:56 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, that is his thing, why would she want to dog because I will definitely kill it.
15:56 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_06]: I can't even keep plants alive, you know, and then he almost kills terror.
15:59 --> 16:06 [SPEAKER_06]: So, it's starting to feel like the way they're right in the commico and uh, Frenchy relationship is like a summer camp romance or a summer holiday romance.
16:07 --> 16:09 [SPEAKER_06]: That the two of them were stuck together in the situation.
16:09 --> 16:10 [SPEAKER_06]: They were around the same age group.
16:10 --> 16:10 [SPEAKER_06]: They,
16:10 --> 16:17 [SPEAKER_06]: fell into each other's arms because of their past history and now she's growing and she's getting to become her real person.
16:18 --> 16:25 [SPEAKER_06]: The person that she's going to become there that she's got all the barriers broken down that she's no longer compatible with French.
16:25 --> 16:29 [SPEAKER_06]: That she's learning that the two of them are on two different paths completely.
16:30 --> 16:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Since it's the final season of the boys,
16:33 --> 16:35 [SPEAKER_06]: probably not going to have a happy ending for everybody.
16:36 --> 16:47 [SPEAKER_06]: And I think it's probably they're setting up that one of these two won't make it actually end the season and that it's okay that their relationship won't last forever because they're as they learn more about each other.
16:47 --> 16:50 [SPEAKER_06]: They realize that maybe we're not actually perfect for each other.
16:50 --> 16:51 [SPEAKER_06]: Maybe we're just agrees.
16:51 --> 16:56 [SPEAKER_06]: The only two people compatible in the room at the time, you know, under that pressurized situation.
16:56 --> 17:03 [SPEAKER_06]: So that's a kind of field like I wonder what the what the shipping fans of
17:03 --> 17:05 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's certainly an unexpected twist.
17:05 --> 17:07 [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, certainly for me.
17:07 --> 17:10 [SPEAKER_05]: So I can imagine it's a bit of a surprise.
17:11 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_05]: Certainly, that's what I thought about it.
17:13 --> 17:19 [SPEAKER_05]: And I mean, at the moment it is still really very much touch points around it.
17:19 --> 17:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Because I mean, for the first couple of episodes, there was still full on.
17:22 --> 17:28 [SPEAKER_05]: And you know, that we're going to have sex as they get back to the Billy Butcher's base.
17:29 --> 17:29 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
17:29 --> 17:30 [SPEAKER_05]: it's something that's come to light.
17:30 --> 17:34 [SPEAKER_05]: So it has altered the relationship, but not necessarily ended it.
17:35 --> 17:37 [SPEAKER_05]: I think there's a lot of introspection happening between them.
17:38 --> 17:41 [SPEAKER_05]: It's not as such gone, but nonetheless, it's a new direction.
17:42 --> 17:42 [SPEAKER_05]: It certainly is.
17:42 --> 17:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
17:43 --> 17:43 [SPEAKER_05]: So it is.
17:43 --> 17:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Show we get on to the seven or antagonist moments.
17:47 --> 17:48 [SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely.
17:49 --> 17:50 [SPEAKER_08]: You're not the real heroes.
17:53 --> 17:54 [SPEAKER_08]: I'm the real hero.
17:54 --> 17:59 [SPEAKER_06]: John, do you want to kick us off with your antagonist moment for this episode?
17:59 --> 18:03 [SPEAKER_06]: The entire episode felt like an antagonizing moment.
18:03 --> 18:04 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, absolutely.
18:04 --> 18:05 [SPEAKER_06]: Which would have you picked up?
18:05 --> 18:06 [SPEAKER_05]: I don't care.
18:06 --> 18:18 [SPEAKER_05]: For me, it's, I guess we'll come to some of the big ones, but I kind of wanted to take the holy Trinity of Sister Sage, Bashley, and Ogo on then, Ashley.
18:18 --> 18:23 [SPEAKER_05]: And you can come just simply because Bashley is plastered to the back of your head.
18:23 --> 18:28 [SPEAKER_05]: And in a sense, a little bit of a formation of an alliance here.
18:28 --> 18:29 [SPEAKER_05]: And...
18:30 --> 18:37 [SPEAKER_05]: Sister Sage kind of asks Ashley to stay and have a drink and we've seen it a bit before in the series so far.
18:38 --> 18:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Ashley is kind of like, what's your angle?
18:40 --> 18:41 [SPEAKER_05]: What's your play here?
18:41 --> 18:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Ultimately, what do you want from me?
18:44 --> 18:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Because you're so intelligent, you know?
18:47 --> 18:55 [SPEAKER_05]: And I like the fact that there's a little bit of backstory here, you know, even Sister Sage, both of them are talking
18:55 --> 19:15 [SPEAKER_05]: And since the sage actually is kind of like like all the worse superhero power, I became clever and basically that means you just annoy everyone because you tell them that they aren't and their riddles with mistakes, you know, as a three-year-old correcting people's grammar and spelling and all that kind of stuff.
19:15 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_05]: I feel like my brother Steve got that super pair.
19:17 --> 19:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Correcting people's grammar every three or four years.
19:23 --> 19:38 [SPEAKER_05]: So that was kind of a nice little moment here, but I think what I absolutely love in a sense, and I'm assuming this at the moment because it may equally not be true, but it's just a sage.
19:38 --> 19:44 [SPEAKER_05]: seemingly becomes clean with her real plan here, to bashly.
19:44 --> 19:51 [SPEAKER_05]: And the reason for it is because she does actually need to understand soldier boy, more than homeland.
19:51 --> 19:56 [SPEAKER_05]: If you have her, she's clocked home under, who he is, what he's going to do, he's immensely predictable.
19:56 --> 19:57 [SPEAKER_06]: What does she call him?
19:57 --> 20:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Not just an open book, an open children's book.
20:02 --> 20:17 [SPEAKER_05]: Soldier Boy is more closed off, he's more difficult to predict, and that is a variable that she needs to understand for her real plan, which ultimately is Armageddon on Earth.
20:17 --> 20:28 [SPEAKER_05]: She, I think it's called World War Sup, she wants to pit the humans against superheroes, so that they ultimately wipe themselves out, other than maybe the survival of some of them.
20:29 --> 20:32 [SPEAKER_05]: But yes,
20:32 --> 20:40 [SPEAKER_05]: She goes, like, I want peace real peace and effectively real peace and quiet.
20:40 --> 20:42 [SPEAKER_05]: It's an immensely selfish plan.
20:42 --> 20:51 [SPEAKER_05]: She wants to sit for the rest of her days reading in the comfort of some huge complex that she's
20:51 --> 20:59 [SPEAKER_05]: She's got ready for herself without the nagging or the hystronics of baby home lander.
20:59 --> 21:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
21:00 --> 21:08 [SPEAKER_06]: And then like if he becomes immortal and she is sitting in this bunker, she just will never get a day's rest.
21:09 --> 21:16 [SPEAKER_06]: And so what she says about the plan is effectively the virus will be
21:17 --> 21:23 [SPEAKER_06]: As soon as they realize the humans have released the virus, the soups will go mad, killing all of the humans.
21:23 --> 21:23 [SPEAKER_06]: Right.
21:23 --> 21:26 [SPEAKER_06]: And then they'll all die out unless you have V1.
21:26 --> 21:29 [SPEAKER_06]: So there's a very, very small amount of soups that will survive.
21:30 --> 21:36 [SPEAKER_06]: She does say that she is done everything to ensure that homelander will not get access to V1.
21:36 --> 21:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
21:37 --> 21:40 [SPEAKER_06]: Which makes me think how she's taken this herself.
21:41 --> 21:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think certainly she doesn't seem to worry about the virus being released and her being killed and says the chill live on and her bunker.
21:48 --> 21:50 [SPEAKER_06]: So it feels like she's already taken the one or...
21:50 --> 21:51 [SPEAKER_05]: I think she's either taken it already.
21:52 --> 22:01 [SPEAKER_05]: All the bunker is in the essence also like a nuclear bunker and you know, it's an anti-virus bunker like, you know, it's circulated, it's purified.
22:01 --> 22:03 [SPEAKER_05]: There's no way that virus is getting in.
22:04 --> 22:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Stan Eggers, but you know, so it's one of those two things.
22:11 --> 22:20 [SPEAKER_05]: does have some kind of line of communication, or she prompted bomb site to do what he did, for sure, you know, she is playing the game here.
22:20 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_05]: And so ultimately that's what she wants from Ashley and back Ashley, which is, get me info intel, find out from soldier boy,
22:39 --> 22:50 [SPEAKER_05]: ultimately survive the coming apocalypse, as I am predicting it, and we can live out our moments in the bunker safe and sound.
22:50 --> 23:03 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's just because it feels like we've had a now heard sister say just plan that I don't believe it because when sister sage makes a plan to bring people in there's always a secondary plan.
23:03 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_06]: I agree.
23:04 --> 23:04 [SPEAKER_06]: I agree.
23:05 --> 23:05 [SPEAKER_06]: This is the thing.
23:05 --> 23:17 [SPEAKER_06]: Why would she allow Ashley and back Ashley to come and stare at a debunk group also feels like sister say it will work out a way to be all alone with her with her library of books as as well.
23:17 --> 23:22 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not too sure if she's that close to Ashley that she'll be willing to live with her for the rest of her life.
23:22 --> 23:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I would think if you wanted peace and quiet, she wouldn't want Ashley and back Ashley there.
23:29 --> 23:44 [SPEAKER_05]: We do have a moment of, you know, sort of back chat from back Ashley wanting to get one of Ashley's ex-boyfriends back because of his girth and because from where she was, it was like being pepper-lip-y.
23:44 --> 23:56 [SPEAKER_05]: that was all like, you know, really, I love the fact that the bike actually is basically a nymph, in a sense, because, well, I guess actually it is as well.
23:56 --> 23:56 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
23:57 --> 24:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Hence, oh, father.
24:02 --> 24:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Forgive me.
24:03 --> 24:04 [SPEAKER_05]: I have seen.
24:04 --> 24:05 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, thank you.
24:05 --> 24:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Boss.
24:06 --> 24:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Um, yes.
24:07 --> 24:09 [SPEAKER_05]: So this is my kind of main antagonist point.
24:09 --> 24:12 [SPEAKER_05]: I do kind of like the notion that there is an alliance formed here.
24:12 --> 24:14 [SPEAKER_05]: However, tenuous that might be here.
24:14 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_05]: I like the idea that we have gotten some kind of insight into sister sages plan at what's really going on.
24:23 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_05]: But you're right.
24:23 --> 24:25 [SPEAKER_05]: It's always
24:25 --> 24:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Is it really just that?
24:27 --> 24:33 [SPEAKER_05]: Again, is it just sub-defeuge for Ashley and and back Ashley?
24:33 --> 24:44 [SPEAKER_06]: It just feels like that's the piece of sister site just plan that she wants their help with and she tells them enough to get their help finding out what's up with so much of boy and there's some of the plan.
24:44 --> 24:54 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, just wondering if there's another plan out there that she Yeah, that she has come up with and just wants that little piece
24:54 --> 25:01 [SPEAKER_05]: I would say so, it fits into whatever, and she's maneuvering, actually, and back Ashley to do.
25:02 --> 25:11 [SPEAKER_05]: And she's maneuvering, Ashley, and back Ashley to be part of her plan on whistlingly, I think.
25:11 --> 25:25 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm hoping that I'm truly hoping there was a bit of an alliance there because I like the sharing of the whiskey, the sharing of the tales and but you just don't know she is so manipulative yeah all for so you're truly most of the time.
25:26 --> 25:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh definitely.
25:27 --> 25:30 [SPEAKER_06]: And, Derek, what about your antagonist moment?
25:31 --> 25:37 [SPEAKER_06]: I think I am going to take the firecracker moment from the episode as my antagonist moment.
25:37 --> 25:48 [SPEAKER_06]: I was trying to work it out in my head, I was going to go, you know, so often when a character gets killed off in the show, it's because they've turned to the opposing side from homelander, you know, and the story usually is what will move them into our
25:48 --> 25:51 [SPEAKER_06]: protagonist moments instead of untactment moments.
25:51 --> 26:04 [SPEAKER_06]: And I tried to think about firecrackers story in this episode, and actually it's about her effectively selling out her entire ideals, so that she can support homelander even more than she ever has before.
26:04 --> 26:25 [SPEAKER_06]: And in the great structure of the episode, we see her early on trying to sell home land of the new idea that there's going to be a new Bible published where he's going to be the new Prophet of America, there's now the Old Testament of the New Testament of the brand new American Testament, which is AI written off the teachings of Pat Robertson.
26:25 --> 26:33 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, so it's going to be this crazy evangelical AI written book.
26:33 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_06]: This idea was only brought to a couple of days beforehand, and they've written an entire new book of the The American Bible through AI in a baked two days, so I'm presuming it hasn't been very properly proofread Which is probably the least of the other problems, but
26:48 --> 27:03 [SPEAKER_06]: But, yeah, there's just a bit stressing things in this initial part where they're saying they're going to bring back all the soups from abroad as well to protect America, because American soups should only be used to protect America, so that's the first kind of element of it.
27:04 --> 27:15 [SPEAKER_06]: And then we have the clip to the story of Firecracker, kind of a a separate side story with the whole episode's Relayed, and she gets the first one.
27:15 --> 27:18 [SPEAKER_06]: And it's effectively that her reverend from her hometown.
27:18 --> 27:20 [SPEAKER_06]: She is known as this Christian superhero.
27:20 --> 27:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Someone that absolutely believes in Christianity and believes in God.
27:24 --> 27:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Believes in Jesus.
27:25 --> 27:33 [SPEAKER_06]: She is always sold homelander to those parts of America, effectively, and they have her reverence coming back to her going well.
27:33 --> 27:51 [SPEAKER_06]: there's a soup that's targeting our church because we're not signing up to this program of homeland or being the new American prophet and praying Mountah who is melting their stained glass windows that they're being persecuted effectively saying if they don't sign up to this new church they will be persecuted as a star-lighter church.
27:52 --> 27:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly.
27:53 --> 27:56 [SPEAKER_05]: What is it's it's he's
27:56 --> 28:03 [SPEAKER_05]: basically needing more time to try and convert his congregation to the democratic church of America as well.
28:03 --> 28:04 [SPEAKER_05]: There's a bit of that in it.
28:04 --> 28:14 [SPEAKER_05]: It's just that like he's seen what she can do to sort of prevent this continues like it's bullying,
28:14 --> 28:16 [SPEAKER_05]: from this praying mantis.
28:17 --> 28:23 [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, ultimately, I mean, she didn't really give him a any good suggestion here.
28:23 --> 28:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, yeah, her suggestion is why don't you just pay for it?
28:26 --> 28:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you know, and it turns out that he's saying, well, look out for it as firstly, we kind of forward to pay for our electricity bills.
28:33 --> 28:36 [SPEAKER_06]: We're just a small humble home town church.
28:36 --> 28:38 [SPEAKER_06]: And secondly,
28:38 --> 28:40 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't care what he says to your face.
28:40 --> 28:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Homeland is a great man.
28:41 --> 28:45 [SPEAKER_06]: He's a great American still play in the game and little bit with firecracker.
28:46 --> 28:47 [SPEAKER_06]: But he says there's no way he's God.
28:47 --> 28:48 [SPEAKER_06]: There's no way he's a prophet.
28:48 --> 28:49 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't care what he says to you.
28:49 --> 28:54 [SPEAKER_06]: You know this, you know, through your beliefs for all of your life from when you were a child.
28:54 --> 29:02 [SPEAKER_06]: You know who God is, you know, who Jesus is, you know, who what Christianity believes and Homeland doesn't align with any of those things no matter what you say.
29:02 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
29:03 --> 29:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Even, I mean, it just comes to the point
29:06 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_05]: earlier in the Vortau, she's calling him a prophet and he says, no prophet is a servant.
29:12 --> 29:24 [SPEAKER_05]: She's like, well, we need to do this to ease people into this notion that of rebranding and preparing them for your ascension that you are God.
29:24 --> 29:26 [SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, no, I am God, not servant.
29:27 --> 29:34 [SPEAKER_05]: And it's actually throwing back to her like that from her pastor.
29:34 --> 30:04 [SPEAKER_06]: had Myers was helped and has some empathy for him at least she thinks so here she's kind of undercover almost with the you know the makeup gone the baseball cap on absolutely empty MCU baseball cap with me is nobody can tell who she is absolutely but of course as it is boss your beliefs have to catch down to the way of a good story and she leads up truth bomb so the story for that evening is the attacks on those churches and it isn't
30:04 --> 30:24 [SPEAKER_06]: and the burning down of those churches and the rest of her reverend pastor all saying that the starlighters are behind it all saying that he could possibly be a pedophile and because the organized religion is full of pedophiles therefore he must be part of that and firecracker
30:24 --> 30:29 [SPEAKER_06]: after a pause, to think about it, she effectively does go along with the company line.
30:29 --> 30:41 [SPEAKER_06]: She says, well, he didn't do anything to me, but she can't believe that his fish Friday's word, anything but a cover for a child's groomer, effectively.
30:41 --> 30:59 [SPEAKER_06]: And so you see the tier coming down her eye as she's on screen telling these revelations to the public and well to the end of the episode all for not She's having sex with soldier boy soldier boy reveals that to home lander home lander is waiting for
30:59 --> 31:04 [SPEAKER_06]: firecracker after her show and gets zero praise from home lander at all.
31:05 --> 31:08 [SPEAKER_06]: He is literally saying to her, I know you don't believe me.
31:09 --> 31:10 [SPEAKER_06]: I know you don't believe in this stuff.
31:10 --> 31:11 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't care what you've said.
31:11 --> 31:14 [SPEAKER_06]: We've heard before that he can
31:14 --> 31:42 [SPEAKER_06]: tell the truth of everybody random by hearing their hearts and in firecracker he sees someone that is playing the game and doing whatever she wants to do but not on really on his side despite what she says to him you know she says I've given up everything for you I've changed my entire belief system I've gone publicly to say that you are the the new leader of the church and nobody else loves you here I've done everything I could
31:42 --> 31:45 [SPEAKER_06]: to help you actually, and he still kills her for it.
31:46 --> 31:47 [SPEAKER_05]: He's still, well, yeah.
31:47 --> 31:49 [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, well, it's interesting.
31:49 --> 31:56 [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think he was going to kill her, because he basically says to her, you know,
31:57 --> 31:59 [SPEAKER_05]: you've had been having sex with my father.
31:59 --> 32:26 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, it's not so much that it is the after sex chitchat and what has been said there and we you know we have that a bit earlier on were you know you have soldier boy after another round of firecracker saying well if there is a god he shouldn't come out of my balls he says to him and you know and he goes do thing I'm
32:26 --> 32:30 [SPEAKER_05]: That's hoping that it is coming on and saying, well, it's that.
32:30 --> 32:33 [SPEAKER_05]: So I do know that you don't fully believe it.
32:33 --> 32:33 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
32:33 --> 32:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Or you've had doubts about it.
32:35 --> 32:42 [SPEAKER_06]: And very specifically, she says to him, you're a great man, and he looks at her and goes, you're still calling me a man, not a guard.
32:42 --> 32:44 [SPEAKER_06]: And that's when he chooses to take revenge.
32:44 --> 32:45 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
32:45 --> 32:47 [SPEAKER_05]: But I also think it's because she...
32:47 --> 32:48 [SPEAKER_05]: She overexents.
32:48 --> 32:49 [SPEAKER_05]: She overplays.
32:49 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_05]: If she had said, I'm sorry, I'm the only one that loves you here.
32:53 --> 32:55 [SPEAKER_05]: I'll get my bags.
32:56 --> 33:05 [SPEAKER_05]: You know, if you ever need me again, I'm brought out because I just felt it was more because she keeps pleading with him and pleading with him.
33:05 --> 33:14 [SPEAKER_05]: And I think we get a sense of that previously in LA where it's just like kind of in a sense all the people like he's kind of almost like None of this matters anymore.
33:14 --> 33:19 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and I am a god, so not this is all Beneath me.
33:19 --> 33:26 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, and Speak to my profits about it's in a sense and and I just feel
33:26 --> 33:33 [SPEAKER_05]: she goes into hard because otherwise I feel he was willing to allow her to leave to walk on and walk away.
33:35 --> 33:40 [SPEAKER_05]: But again, she tries not to and that's when he's gone.
33:40 --> 33:42 [SPEAKER_05]: No, I can't have the same.
33:43 --> 33:45 [SPEAKER_06]: But again, that's what she's just doing.
33:45 --> 33:47 [SPEAKER_06]: There's nothing for her to walk away too.
33:47 --> 34:05 [SPEAKER_06]: She just turned on her home church and everything that she's known in the past for him Interestingly, Eric Criffy and then into this week did say this character was based on Marjorie Taylor Greene former Trump supporter who Trump threw into the bus very quickly after she had
34:05 --> 34:22 [SPEAKER_06]: gone against her own standings, her own morals, everything she believed in prior to his election, and they wrote this in a bite June last year, and Marjorie Telegram was thrown in the bus in November, because in the writers room watching the Trump administration, then you was going to happen at some point that you'd be the one that would be thrown.
34:22 --> 34:27 [SPEAKER_06]: I want to know her specifically, like they do, and Marjorie Telegram is the one that firecracker is based on, because
34:27 --> 34:40 [SPEAKER_06]: beforehand you could believe that she had some type of religious beliefs by the end of a she had thrown everything of her beliefs in the bin to promote this person as the leader of America.
34:41 --> 34:43 [SPEAKER_06]: And that's what firecrackers doing here.
34:43 --> 34:45 [SPEAKER_06]: She's literally throwing everything.
34:45 --> 34:46 [SPEAKER_06]: She has nothing left.
34:46 --> 34:47 [SPEAKER_06]: If she was still alive,
34:47 --> 34:52 [SPEAKER_06]: nobody that she ever had any connection with before the seven would touch her with a barge pole.
34:52 --> 35:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and it's also, I think, what you get in this moment with homeland is the realization that it's the tyranny of pure thought.
35:00 --> 35:01 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, pure belief.
35:01 --> 35:11 [SPEAKER_05]: It's like, it's not only that she played along with this, and I think he was willing to allow her to walk out on that, but then she came back for more.
35:11 --> 35:13 [SPEAKER_05]: But he knows that she's down to him.
35:14 --> 35:14 [SPEAKER_05]: I got you.
35:14 --> 35:20 [SPEAKER_05]: And he can't have that if it's, you know, you're either a true believer or you're no believer at all.
35:21 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_05]: And given her loyalty, I think he was willing.
35:24 --> 35:26 [SPEAKER_05]: I think he understood she was loyal.
35:27 --> 35:31 [SPEAKER_06]: And he was willing to allow her to walk, which she's not a believer.
35:31 --> 35:41 [SPEAKER_06]: And remember, the conversation he had, that crazy inspirational conversation that he had with the visiting angel was that he is a guard.
35:41 --> 35:44 [SPEAKER_06]: Not that he can pretend to be a god to get more people.
35:45 --> 35:54 [SPEAKER_06]: He was literally told that if people don't believe in him, he can kill them all and then he will just be left with the believers and then everything will be fine, right?
35:54 --> 35:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Won't some people not believe that I'm God?
35:56 --> 35:59 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, kill them and then you only are left for people that will believe that you're God.
35:59 --> 36:03 [SPEAKER_06]: And here in that moment, she's telling him, she still believes he's a man.
36:03 --> 36:09 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, the greatest man of all time, the greatest man in America, but not a god and then he chooses to kill her.
36:09 --> 36:10 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, brutal, brutal.
36:11 --> 36:12 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
36:12 --> 36:26 [SPEAKER_05]: And I mean, like so tense as I was saying, and this whole scene where she's constantly asking, yeah, pleasing to remain one of the seven to remain one of his divorces, even though she's not.
36:26 --> 36:32 [SPEAKER_05]: And after she finishes and the pause,
36:32 --> 36:38 [SPEAKER_05]: And I just couldn't watch and then I was listening and it was like, this pause has got scenes like it's going on for effort.
36:39 --> 36:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
36:39 --> 36:47 [SPEAKER_05]: But like this is one of the great things about homeowners, a character and like the performance of Anthony Star and it has been from
36:47 --> 36:49 [SPEAKER_05]: the first episode of season one for you me.
36:50 --> 37:01 [SPEAKER_05]: And the ability of the rising and his character and him as a performer to ring out pure horrific tension that you just can't bear any more.
37:01 --> 37:02 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
37:02 --> 37:05 [SPEAKER_05]: And in terms of what is this crazy man child going to do?
37:05 --> 37:06 [SPEAKER_05]: He just don't know.
37:06 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
37:07 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_05]: And that's the thing.
37:07 --> 37:10 [SPEAKER_05]: There's as many of the ones where something like this happens.
37:11 --> 37:14 [SPEAKER_05]: There are many where and it's a breathe out and nothing's happened.
37:14 --> 37:17 [SPEAKER_05]: And you just like,
37:17 --> 37:41 [SPEAKER_05]: they've captured the pure chaos at reasoning of him and again I guess looking at realities is to some degree as well and and so it's just really really well done yeah absolutely and farewell firecracker indeed didn't redeem yourself as such and boss lost your life for changing your beliefs as far as you did
37:41 --> 37:58 [SPEAKER_05]: even the little eye movement after her head has been it relays on the wing, which I just managed to capture after I heard that, yeah, I looked and I was like, oh, the eyes moved, yeah, I think brutal on the wings of the, yes indeed.
37:58 --> 38:04 [SPEAKER_05]: And we're sure we get on to our other outstanding moments because there are certainly lots of other outstanding antagonist moments.
38:05 --> 38:05 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, there are.
38:06 --> 38:06 [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
38:07 --> 38:08 [SPEAKER_04]: You have five minutes to make your openings.
38:12 --> 38:14 [SPEAKER_05]: And I'll kick off with Black Noir.
38:14 --> 38:23 [SPEAKER_05]: I do like clear the kind of tipping point if you will is at the start where they're around the table in Vort Tower.
38:23 --> 38:29 [SPEAKER_05]: And you have Soldier Boy giving the deep some, some hassle.
38:29 --> 38:33 [SPEAKER_05]: And Hoemander looks at him and says, you know, he bought me Stan Edgette.
38:33 --> 38:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Go easy on him.
38:34 --> 38:39 [SPEAKER_05]: And then it leads into Black Noir's story where actually,
38:39 --> 39:03 [SPEAKER_05]: he's been quiet because he's been absolutely furious with the deep but is still staying in character and the fact of that he is black noir, he wasn't active prior to this and they've taken away his voice, you know, one of the tools of an actor, you know, the words, the voice, the projection, all of that has been taken from him.
39:03 --> 39:08 [SPEAKER_05]: and he's playing method with silence and it's getting to him.
39:09 --> 39:11 [SPEAKER_05]: It's kind of Nord at him.
39:11 --> 39:22 [SPEAKER_05]: And Blankner has this beef with the deep and you know it's getting to him so much that he's effectively double jobbing as not only
39:22 --> 39:39 [SPEAKER_05]: a soup in the seven, body is also doing local amateur dramatic in fairs as well so that he can actually speak and that's with Adam who did the vault seven part of the VCU and I do like the fact that one Adam is sort of
39:40 --> 39:51 [SPEAKER_05]: that when Black Nuar is talking to Adam about the deep without saying his name, Adam's like, oh yeah, I had beef with the deep as well.
39:51 --> 39:57 [SPEAKER_05]: He's like a jar of later level baby bitch, which is like, oh god.
39:57 --> 40:00 [SPEAKER_05]: But it's just, I like how this plays out.
40:00 --> 40:10 [SPEAKER_05]: I like the fact that the, you know, Black Nuar in a sense is he's trying to step stand above it to really
40:10 --> 40:17 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm in the 7, I've got this gig, and so on, and I will be method, and I'll be as professional as can be despite what the deep is doing.
40:18 --> 40:26 [SPEAKER_05]: But because I'm masked, because I don't speak, I can go out into the world and be me, and prior to it,
40:25 --> 40:28 [SPEAKER_05]: being asked to come on as Black Noah too.
40:28 --> 40:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, and it's kind of like an outlet for him because he has to be silent at all times and pretend to be Black Noah.
40:37 --> 40:45 [SPEAKER_06]: It's like, okay, at least I can go down and join this stage production of the BG's play, by the way, where he plays Barry Gibb, and that's what he's saying.
40:45 --> 40:49 [SPEAKER_06]: I have an Eagle Maniac in my life, and that's where I'm drawing inspiration from.
40:49 --> 40:52 [SPEAKER_06]: We're in other inspiration is from the Deep, which are the gazellaries.
40:52 --> 40:59 [SPEAKER_05]: But I think the other side of it then is you have the conversation between the deep O father and him were
41:00 --> 41:30 [SPEAKER_05]: actually black noir gets one up on the deep because he says well we could get home under to heal me so that I get my voice back and I'm able to fly you know I can fly as well and for oh father this is great this faith healing and will be a 9 point increase or bump with the pentcostal he says and and he can really see he can see the benefiting
41:32 --> 41:38 [SPEAKER_05]: This, as always with the deep, anyone who trashes him is like, gets...
41:38 --> 41:43 [SPEAKER_05]: a bit like home and a child obsessed, you know, he's a child.
41:43 --> 41:43 [SPEAKER_05]: He is.
41:43 --> 41:45 [SPEAKER_05]: That's what he gets obsessed.
41:45 --> 41:46 [SPEAKER_05]: He's learning from home.
41:46 --> 41:50 [SPEAKER_05]: Just everything to ruin black noils, local amicers, remasings.
41:50 --> 41:51 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
41:51 --> 41:53 [SPEAKER_06]: That's always been part of the deep characters.
41:53 --> 41:54 [SPEAKER_06]: And you know, learn to from home lander.
41:54 --> 41:59 [SPEAKER_06]: And that's why he always felt betrayed by home lander when he was kicked out of the seven for what he did to starlight.
41:59 --> 42:02 [SPEAKER_06]: He always felt like he was following in the footsteps of home lander.
42:02 --> 42:07 [SPEAKER_06]: If home lander could take what he wanted, the deep could do the same thing.
42:07 --> 42:08 [SPEAKER_06]: But he's an idiot, you know?
42:08 --> 42:19 [SPEAKER_06]: And so, and Noir has had to sit there for weeks on end, sitting beside him in a podcast, like you to do John pretending that he's the smart one, and not saying anything.
42:19 --> 42:33 [SPEAKER_06]: But I do, like, just one more before we finish this conversation between O' Father and Black Noir and the Deep, I do like this, and that the Deep proposes that in the new church to make it better, and that
42:33 --> 42:39 [SPEAKER_06]: it will be that no guys can bone another guy's girl and we should put that in our church.
42:40 --> 42:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, Father, look at him going.
42:43 --> 42:45 [SPEAKER_06]: That's already in every single church.
42:45 --> 42:48 [SPEAKER_06]: There is a no adult ritual in all churches.
42:48 --> 42:50 [SPEAKER_06]: No, this isn't a new thing that you're proposing here.
42:51 --> 42:54 [SPEAKER_06]: And he's just staring at the deep like he's an absolute idiot.
42:54 --> 43:00 [SPEAKER_06]: So when black noir does propose something that would really bump up their new church of America.
43:00 --> 43:03 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, father's all ears, you know, like it.
43:03 --> 43:03 [SPEAKER_05]: That's a thing.
43:04 --> 43:18 [SPEAKER_05]: It's when the deep actually has that moment of self reflection where he goes, I can see what they're saying that I am a joke, then it's shutters up and it's well.
43:19 --> 43:23 [SPEAKER_05]: I just lash out with violence.
43:23 --> 43:37 [SPEAKER_05]: And this violence takes the form of a Congaril up the drainage system and ultimately up to into Adam's drainage system has Congaril just
43:37 --> 43:45 [SPEAKER_05]: for us up from the loop, open to Adam and love the touch that they have the job, the job, the Johnstein tune.
43:45 --> 43:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly.
43:46 --> 43:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Please sitting on it.
43:47 --> 43:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
43:47 --> 43:57 [SPEAKER_05]: Just that little bit of, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do,
43:57 --> 44:01 [SPEAKER_05]: Slowly, and it is dying words to black noirs.
44:01 --> 44:06 [SPEAKER_05]: He tells black noirs to come a little nearer, a little nearer, a little nearer.
44:06 --> 44:11 [SPEAKER_05]: He says, my ass hurts, so having more than that.
44:11 --> 44:12 [SPEAKER_05]: And he dies.
44:12 --> 44:15 [SPEAKER_05]: And then just the...
44:16 --> 44:42 [SPEAKER_05]: the confrontation after this epic death scene by Black Noah with the deep and but the deep threshings Black Noah here you know and but you can just tell Black Noah is ceasing under that helmet or I can't see anything and you know the deeps end will come at the hands of Black Noah I think so yeah I think that's that has to be it right you know
44:42 --> 44:51 [SPEAKER_06]: I think his mention in the conversation with the father, the fact that he can fly, the fact that he can talk, obviously the scared the hell out of our father, because he thinks he is the actual black noir.
44:51 --> 44:53 [SPEAKER_06]: But he has superpowers.
44:53 --> 44:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Right?
44:53 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_06]: You don't see it very often.
44:55 --> 44:58 [SPEAKER_06]: He's not just some actor off the street, he's also an actor with superpowers.
44:58 --> 45:01 [SPEAKER_06]: So, yeah, I think the confrontation is set.
45:01 --> 45:02 [SPEAKER_06]: right there with it.
45:02 --> 45:05 [SPEAKER_06]: He goes back into complete silence, no response from at all.
45:05 --> 45:13 [SPEAKER_06]: Like when he deepsets him, what he's done, and it will turn him into home lander for working in the arts, which is something that's a home lander is also shut down.
45:14 --> 45:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
45:15 --> 45:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
45:15 --> 45:20 [SPEAKER_05]: So, yes, I think maybe Black New York could be for turning.
45:20 --> 45:21 [SPEAKER_05]: I think you could be.
45:21 --> 45:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
45:22 --> 45:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
45:23 --> 45:28 [SPEAKER_05]: But Derek, what's your outst-other outstanding moment and it's a biggie?
45:28 --> 45:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, yes, let's get on to the final and major point from the episode really.
45:34 --> 45:38 [SPEAKER_06]: So the final point is really the LA trip for home lander and soldier boy.
45:38 --> 45:52 [SPEAKER_06]: just kicks off with them, having a discussion with Stan Aguer, interested in the home lander has not been able to get any useful information of the then the trip they had last week to find the V1, no further information from Stan Aguer, no matter what he pushes.
45:53 --> 45:56 [SPEAKER_06]: And there's a moment that Stan Aguer is trying to push home lander to kill him.
45:57 --> 46:06 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, you know, he's really trying to antagonize home lander and knowing how much home lander flies off the handle with anybody who pushes him that far.
46:06 --> 46:10 [SPEAKER_06]: stands willing to just die here because he can't do anything more.
46:10 --> 46:11 [SPEAKER_06]: He's in this prison.
46:11 --> 46:14 [SPEAKER_06]: He knows he's going to be killed at some point by homeland or so.
46:14 --> 46:15 [SPEAKER_06]: Why not?
46:15 --> 46:18 [SPEAKER_06]: And a new tactic comes in with soldier boy.
46:19 --> 46:23 [SPEAKER_06]: So, soldier boy has had the investigators find out where we're.
46:23 --> 46:25 [SPEAKER_06]: crime analytics, yeah, which the D.P.
46:25 --> 46:25 [SPEAKER_06]: is to run.
46:26 --> 46:31 [SPEAKER_06]: He has them as them looking for Zoe on this find where Zoe and her father are.
46:31 --> 46:38 [SPEAKER_06]: And as soon as Danica realizes that soldier boy is pretty clear, he's going to kill Zoe if he doesn't get information out of Stan Ecker.
46:39 --> 46:47 [SPEAKER_06]: He gives them the link to go for a reunion for a form, a member of the seven that we haven't seen before, Mr. Madison.
46:47 --> 46:50 [SPEAKER_05]: Mr. Marathon, who was replaced by the A-Train.
46:50 --> 47:12 [SPEAKER_05]: And of course, is Jared Pedaleck, yes, yes, yes, yes, we have the supernatural reunion that we want as we meet up short and sweet, but for us, yes, very good, along with Mal Chemical, played by Misha Collins as well, so like this was great to see, but also a whole
47:12 --> 47:13 [SPEAKER_05]: immensely familiar.
47:13 --> 47:14 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was unexpected.
47:14 --> 47:17 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I was not going to love the Hollywood poker game.
47:17 --> 47:21 [SPEAKER_06]: This is a real staple of TV shows that won a cram in some special guest stars.
47:21 --> 47:21 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
47:21 --> 47:30 [SPEAKER_06]: Chris for this immense class in there from Kickass, Superbad, with his co-ster, from Superbad, Seth Rogan, to the executive producer of the show.
47:31 --> 47:33 [SPEAKER_06]: This is fourth parent's play Seth Rogan in the show.
47:33 --> 47:39 [SPEAKER_06]: He gets one every season up until season four, but this is his final appearance.
47:39 --> 47:40 [SPEAKER_06]: I guess, as it is with everybody.
47:40 --> 48:07 [SPEAKER_06]: Cool to see we'll for today there as well for more SNL star and Craig Robertson in there as well I'm Camille Nangiani who is currently appearing on task master in the UK company show over here Cooled it just really addressed to see that he's there and on on task master and of course was in a turn-alts That's where he got super jacked as he likes to have likes to point out at this episode You know, I really like they're having this conversation, so
48:07 --> 48:09 [SPEAKER_06]: There's loads of cool things about the scene.
48:10 --> 48:15 [SPEAKER_06]: I love that we have Jarapadalaki when introducing them into his house.
48:16 --> 48:22 [SPEAKER_06]: They see all the postures for all the movies that he's done since he left the seven, a great flag on Stony Pictures TV.
48:22 --> 48:30 [SPEAKER_06]: And that's where a soup's go to die, which is basically the owners of the rights to Spider-Man, who made the absolutely terrible Madame Webb, who made the,
48:30 --> 48:58 [SPEAKER_06]: a trotis, more of us who've made so many bad movies, connecting with Spider-Man, the only ones that have gotten right really have been the Spider-Man movies which are made in conjunction with Marvel, but once they take them out, I think you even forget that they made Craven, which was also absolutely terrible, and there's so many movies that they've made, since they've had those rights, so I love the little dig, so that's any pictures,
48:58 --> 49:00 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's on something.
49:00 --> 49:04 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so it's lovely and matter here.
49:04 --> 49:09 [SPEAKER_05]: You can sense this something between home and Mr. Marathon.
49:09 --> 49:16 [SPEAKER_05]: You know, even just Stan Edgar is joyful and saying,
49:16 --> 49:41 [SPEAKER_05]: happy reunion as of you both and he knows it won't be and homeland is more than sort of rolling his eyes all the time clearly doesn't want to be there doesn't want to deal with just the sort of chitchat from the the gathered mega stars oh well yeah holy wood comedy yeah but the big the big problem with Mr. Marathon is this um
49:41 --> 49:50 [SPEAKER_06]: just like we saw with a train back in season one of season two homelander always test the speedsters against the next speedster coming up behind them.
49:50 --> 49:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Mr. Marathon was beaten by a train therefore out of the seven and that was the end of
49:56 --> 50:09 [SPEAKER_06]: Any discussion about whether Mr. Marathon could be the fastest man on earth and therefore part of the seven so so he hates homeland or for that He's been well drug dealing and making crappy films So I love the this one made 35 million dollars.
50:09 --> 50:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah on a two hundred and twenty million dollar budget and storing all the memorabilia of Vort and hence why Stanig says he knows a lot about Vort
50:20 --> 50:40 [SPEAKER_05]: There is a nice moment with soldier boy looking at Stormfront's picture and you know just giving a little rub but putting it back trying not to be noticed by homeland or which there is and there's also lots of baby oil as well which I'm trying to show I got the reference for but used to great effect later.
50:39 --> 50:40 [SPEAKER_06]: I'll tell you.
50:41 --> 50:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
50:41 --> 50:42 [SPEAKER_06]: It was a P.D.
50:43 --> 50:49 [SPEAKER_06]: When they raided his, when they raided his house and arrested them, they found his house was full of more baby oil than any possible.
50:49 --> 50:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Any man could possibly use.
50:50 --> 50:50 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
50:50 --> 50:57 [SPEAKER_06]: That's why it's, I think it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's
50:57 --> 51:02 [SPEAKER_06]: but the actual name on the label is something like puff-father or something like that.
51:02 --> 51:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, grand, yes.
51:03 --> 51:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Silly me.
51:04 --> 51:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Now, as soon as you say, it becomes very, very obvious.
51:07 --> 51:10 [SPEAKER_05]: So many controversies hard to keep them all together.
51:11 --> 51:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
51:11 --> 51:14 [SPEAKER_05]: And, you know, I think there is...
51:14 --> 51:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Um, you know, they, they ultimately say, yes, could be, they know bombsite, he deals, Mr. Marathon has, you know, one of his little side hustles, he just deal with, with bombsite and they'll get him over.
51:27 --> 51:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but it is a way of, I don't think they're really doing that, ultimately, and they're trying to get soldier boy.
51:37 --> 51:42 [SPEAKER_05]: trying to get in his head about where he stands because they're looking really trying to kill home under.
51:42 --> 51:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, they're trying to kill him.
51:43 --> 51:53 [SPEAKER_06]: I think that's obviously the picture there, or Stormfront is a little mild to vote rising where we're gonna see the return of Stormfront, so they want to just put her in back in our minds again.
51:53 --> 51:56 [SPEAKER_06]: So we will see her again coming up in the future.
51:56 --> 51:59 [SPEAKER_06]: But yeah, they're trying to work out where,
51:59 --> 52:05 [SPEAKER_06]: Soldier Boy stands, there's a lot of flattery from Mr. Marathon as to Soldier Boy and his love for him.
52:05 --> 52:11 [SPEAKER_06]: And they are going to take the opportunity to take out home under, which is really interesting.
52:11 --> 52:15 [SPEAKER_06]: God, if they just teamed up with Billy Boucher, home under would definitely be dead.
52:16 --> 52:17 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I thought, yeah, absolutely.
52:17 --> 52:23 [SPEAKER_05]: I love that Malchemical uses like, comes some kind of knockout gas, I guess, on homelanders.
52:23 --> 52:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, that's his superbaristic and make any chemical come out of his mouth and he uses it to knock-esh homelanders.
52:31 --> 52:34 [SPEAKER_06]: what a what a cool super pair to use there.
52:35 --> 52:38 [SPEAKER_06]: I love that he's also been hard done by by home lander.
52:38 --> 52:46 [SPEAKER_06]: He's met home lander six times he says, you know, he did a massive campaign for voss and home lander just looks at him as if he's never seen him before in his entire life.
52:47 --> 52:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Treat him so badly and then also
52:49 --> 53:10 [SPEAKER_06]: I love in the background, the poker game that's going on between Seth Camille, Christopher, and Will, they're having conversations about what's home land has been doing to the acting community, and they're trying to work at head, they can do this massive protest, and we'll actually get through to home land, or you know, they're talking about all the people that have been arrested, people like Benedict Cumberbatch, and Benedict Wong have been arrested.
53:11 --> 53:18 [SPEAKER_06]: All these famous actors have all been arrested, and they're going, well, we can all write a post that goes up at the
53:18 --> 53:24 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, should we use black squares when they'll black lies madly use that should we use blue squares, you know, blue lies matter.
53:25 --> 53:29 [SPEAKER_06]: No, I'm not going to post that on the Instagram and should we use a white square.
53:30 --> 53:35 [SPEAKER_06]: Definitely not really good, a good banter between these between this group.
53:35 --> 53:40 [SPEAKER_06]: And then yeah, will forte tries to turn them all in to home lander thinking that he's going to.
53:40 --> 53:47 [SPEAKER_06]: Kill one of them, so it might as well be someone that isn't here and and in that moment Malchamical takes home land direction.
53:47 --> 53:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
53:48 --> 54:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, and then it's then to can you convince soldier boy to kill his son And the the short answer is no I love the fact that he ultimately says nobody screws my son but me Delivery excellent.
54:03 --> 54:09 [SPEAKER_05]: I think what plays out after in terms of how he takes the more happened by
54:09 --> 54:14 [SPEAKER_05]: Effectively getting marathon man to run into them is brilliant.
54:14 --> 54:18 [SPEAKER_05]: I mean the first The first time it happens with will forte.
54:18 --> 54:20 [SPEAKER_05]: I just I was like, okay, what just happened there?
54:21 --> 54:25 [SPEAKER_05]: He was there and there was dust there and I just exploded and I just thought
54:25 --> 54:40 [SPEAKER_05]: missed a marathon, he had just been covered in it, but it's no, he missed a marathon runs into each of them, even Craig Robinson as he's coming out the Lou, and after some really, lots of bad tackos that he's been having.
54:40 --> 54:42 [SPEAKER_05]: and from Dudley Trail.
54:42 --> 54:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so good.
54:47 --> 55:03 [SPEAKER_05]: And then Mr. Marathon ultimately brought down by the same baby oil and I mean that in and of itself is brutal with the snapping of the ankle and then the leg, would he just get confirmation that bombsite?
55:03 --> 55:04 [SPEAKER_05]: has v1.
55:05 --> 55:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Doesn't know where he is, but he has v1.
55:07 --> 55:08 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
55:08 --> 55:19 [SPEAKER_05]: And that's enough for Soldier Boy who thinks, you know, definitely telling the truth, no matter how much of an A-hole is, but then his face gets smashed in by the boot of Homeland Day.
55:19 --> 55:23 [SPEAKER_05]: And I like a little after a bit with Homeland to say, you know, why did you do that?
55:23 --> 55:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.
55:24 --> 55:25 [SPEAKER_05]: And screw them.
55:25 --> 55:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
55:26 --> 55:26 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
55:26 --> 55:27 [SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
55:27 --> 55:27 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
55:27 --> 55:28 [SPEAKER_06]: I still don't know.
55:28 --> 55:31 [SPEAKER_06]: And again, that goes back to the point you had about Sister Sager, you're on.
55:31 --> 55:33 [SPEAKER_06]: It's the thing about
55:33 --> 55:35 [SPEAKER_06]: Don't really know where his mind is.
55:36 --> 55:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Is he supporting home lander?
55:37 --> 55:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Is he doing what he wants to do from self?
55:39 --> 55:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Does he just change the rules every time?
55:41 --> 55:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, these eggs here, you know?
55:43 --> 55:44 [SPEAKER_05]: It's just don't know.
55:44 --> 55:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, or is it realising that storm from to him?
55:47 --> 55:49 [SPEAKER_05]: That was the only thing that had any meaning.
55:49 --> 55:53 [SPEAKER_05]: And that it had a son.
55:53 --> 55:59 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, well, potentially, but also, um, didn't home lander kill from from?
55:59 --> 56:00 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, exactly.
56:00 --> 56:01 [SPEAKER_06]: So he finds that out.
56:02 --> 56:04 [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, he's he's he's he's he's he's dead.
56:04 --> 56:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
56:04 --> 56:06 [SPEAKER_06]: But he finds out the home land is won the kill there.
56:07 --> 56:08 [SPEAKER_06]: Um, maybe that's there.
56:08 --> 56:10 [SPEAKER_06]: They're standoff at the end of the show, right?
56:10 --> 56:11 [SPEAKER_05]: And no, definitely.
56:12 --> 56:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Water scene, what a great moment.
56:14 --> 56:19 [SPEAKER_06]: I was worried as the episode went on and you was going to be the reunion of the supernatural boys in this episode.
56:19 --> 56:24 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm as worried as we got to like the 45 minute mario and I was seeing either of them and then realized the episode was there in 10 minutes.
56:24 --> 56:28 [SPEAKER_06]: So we got a good amount of time and a really good experience of them.
56:28 --> 56:32 [SPEAKER_06]: all these characters and some extra guest stars to die in the way.
56:32 --> 56:43 [SPEAKER_06]: And of course, I call back to a trans first appearance when you have Mr. Marathon running through each of the guest stars here that's a call back to a train killing Hugh Lee's girlfriend and the first episode.
56:43 --> 56:46 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, of course to the Havaspeedster, they will run through a person.
56:48 --> 56:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent stuff.
56:49 --> 56:51 [SPEAKER_06]: John loads in this episode.
56:51 --> 56:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Anything we missed, anything you want to talk about that we haven't mentioned below.
56:54 --> 57:02 [SPEAKER_05]: No, I think for me, I think covered a good amount of lots in this episode for me that was just so, so good.
57:02 --> 57:12 [SPEAKER_05]: I like the structure of it with the one shots as well, just how it was based around the opening discussion around heavenly rebranding of home under.
57:12 --> 57:37 [SPEAKER_05]: and it sort of all falling off that into these one shots of firecracker black noir terror sister sage and of course soldier boy so that that was really a nice structure to play with I think it was I think because we're in the final season and round episode five there's lots of pieces that they need to move and this was such a good way of setting up those pieces such a good way of
57:37 --> 57:48 [SPEAKER_06]: A quick insight to everybody around the table and find out where they're all sitting at the moment and some of them no longer sitting there by the end of the episode So overall then John wanted to think of the episode Completely
57:48 --> 57:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely love it.
57:49 --> 57:50 [SPEAKER_05]: I give this five.
57:50 --> 57:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Do do do do come on do the conga.
57:54 --> 57:55 [SPEAKER_05]: Do do do out of five.
57:56 --> 58:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, yeah, do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
58:14 --> 58:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but I just think the Kongoreal for Adam, because again, under the longstanding number of the cast at a book, Adam Book.
58:23 --> 58:27 [SPEAKER_05]: And I just thought that was, I thought that was really goes with Black Noir.
58:27 --> 58:29 [SPEAKER_05]: You can see how that's going to play out.
58:29 --> 58:32 [SPEAKER_05]: Firecracker was tragic.
58:32 --> 58:50 [SPEAKER_05]: but ultimately you could see it coming, not a devotee enough to spite probably as she was trying to persuade homeowner that the most devoted to him, and you know, and
58:50 --> 58:51 [SPEAKER_05]: Good to have Tara.
58:51 --> 58:52 [SPEAKER_05]: I like that.
58:53 --> 59:08 [SPEAKER_05]: I love the Tara's dreams with homeanda with what's a terry drumstick and then it's kind of cut to Tara thrusting on his toy on his homeanda toy.
59:08 --> 59:12 [SPEAKER_05]: This says Ashley and Ashley really liking this notion of an alliance here.
59:12 --> 59:13 [SPEAKER_05]: However,
59:13 --> 59:35 [SPEAKER_05]: superficial it may be, and yeah, I think the reunion of the supernatural boys, the Jensenackels, Jared Pedalecki, and Misha Collins, just really nicely plays here, in terms of bringing them together, and the blood, the form of all of that so good.
59:36 --> 59:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, extra stuff, extra stuff, and yes, what's again, or a P2 Bentley who played
59:42 --> 59:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, really tap such great to have these regions here, really, really enjoy looking forward to how the next episode plays out of the boys, but John, I think we need to get out of the pub, and maybe have a whiskey and talk better.
59:53 --> 59:54 [SPEAKER_05]: I just think we do.
59:54 --> 59:55 [SPEAKER_05]: I think we do.
59:55 --> 59:58 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, fellow boys and girls, fellow quizzes.
59:58 --> 01:00:03 [SPEAKER_05]: It is question five of the boys' pub quiz.
01:00:04 --> 01:00:10 [SPEAKER_05]: What does the deep suggest
01:00:13 --> 01:00:15 [SPEAKER_05]: I can get on board with this one.
01:00:16 --> 01:00:18 [SPEAKER_06]: And wait for us aren't the biggest of problems.
01:00:18 --> 01:00:24 [SPEAKER_06]: I think when you're trying to sell and you profit or in you guys to an entire nation of people.
01:00:24 --> 01:00:27 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't think wait for us is the question here, right?
01:00:27 --> 01:00:31 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm surprised this suggestion wasn't as out there as I was expecting.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:35 [SPEAKER_06]: I was expecting it to be like, you know, how much he sandwiched or something, you know?
01:00:35 --> 01:00:36 [SPEAKER_06]: Bosh.
01:00:36 --> 01:00:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'm doing a good.
01:00:38 --> 01:00:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:39 --> 01:00:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:39 --> 01:00:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:40 --> 01:00:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:40 --> 01:00:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:42 --> 01:00:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Good.
01:00:44 --> 01:00:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:46 --> 01:00:46 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:47 --> 01:00:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:48 --> 01:00:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:49 --> 01:00:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:52 --> 01:00:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:53 --> 01:00:55 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:55 --> 01:00:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:56 --> 01:00:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Good.
01:00:56 --> 01:01:20 [SPEAKER_06]: just the country as all I need for you are I'll reach out to you for your full address if you are lucky enough to get your hands in those goodies soon I make sure I have some that can be delivered to you yeah that's all absolutely and with that let's get some feedback from our wonderful boys and girls yes on to our feedback section first up we have a voicemail through on our website tvpodcastindustries.com from Harrison Fox
01:01:21 --> 01:01:50 [SPEAKER_03]: a fellow boys and girls, Harrison Fox calling in for season five episode five of the boys probably went new favorite episode, um, didn't really see myself feel and sorry for firecracker, both during her segment at the beginning and for her untimely death at the end, but you know, here we are, um, terrors near death experience, causing butcher to finally accept
01:01:51 --> 01:01:52 [SPEAKER_03]: Not that bad of an idea.
01:01:52 --> 01:01:55 [SPEAKER_03]: The mansion scene was unbelievable.
01:01:55 --> 01:01:58 [SPEAKER_03]: I like that Seth Rogen appeared as Seth Rogen.
01:01:58 --> 01:02:00 [SPEAKER_03]: This, he might thought that was really funny.
01:02:00 --> 01:02:08 [SPEAKER_03]: And then Mr. Marathon just, brutally exploding, a bunch of celebrity.
01:02:08 --> 01:02:10 [SPEAKER_03]: That was pretty wild.
01:02:11 --> 01:02:12 [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no.
01:02:12 --> 01:02:16 [SPEAKER_03]: This show just continues to top itself again and again.
01:02:17 --> 01:02:21 [SPEAKER_03]: I can't believe that we started the episode off with the pedaling of Trump Bibles.
01:02:21 --> 01:02:25 [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry, home lander Bibles, just wonderful.
01:02:25 --> 01:02:27 [SPEAKER_03]: It's just continues to be wonderful.
01:02:27 --> 01:02:32 [SPEAKER_03]: Sage is plan finally being revealed to Ashley and Ashley, did you know her name?
01:02:32 --> 01:02:34 [SPEAKER_03]: The back of her head is named Ashley.
01:02:34 --> 01:02:35 [SPEAKER_03]: I went there from the subtitles.
01:02:37 --> 01:02:38 [SPEAKER_03]: Seriously, wonderful episode.
01:02:38 --> 01:02:41 [SPEAKER_03]: Five meat wallets out of five.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:43 [SPEAKER_03]: Solder Boy really can turn her phrase.
01:02:43 --> 01:02:45 [SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say.
01:02:46 --> 01:02:47 [SPEAKER_03]: Talk to you later.
01:02:47 --> 01:02:52 [SPEAKER_06]: I, yes, Sergeant Boyd, what's again with an excellent phrasing for you?
01:02:53 --> 01:02:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:02:55 --> 01:02:56 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, thanks so much Harrison.
01:02:56 --> 01:03:00 [SPEAKER_05]: I completely forgot about the Trump people.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:01 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, that was a thing.
01:03:02 --> 01:03:02 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, as well.
01:03:03 --> 01:03:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, but the goal to cover by the level that he was selling doom.
01:03:06 --> 01:03:10 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was sort of a sort of election fund raising wasn't it?
01:03:10 --> 01:03:13 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it was a caracole sold as 20 caracoles, wasn't it?
01:03:13 --> 01:03:31 [SPEAKER_06]: As usual, yes, absolutely, yeah, we're calling all the way back to the beginning with with the Trump Bible But yes, this one has an extra Extra new feature in a new passage all about the home ladder Which never appeared in fairness in the Trump Bible.
01:03:31 --> 01:03:38 [SPEAKER_06]: There was no extra past in there But I'm sure he did an introduction as to why you should believe in what he did rather than boss
01:03:38 --> 01:03:38 [SPEAKER_06]: the Pope says.
01:03:38 --> 01:03:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:54 [SPEAKER_05]: And I mean, yeah, I think there is a little bit of like feeling sorry for for firecracker, but it's also, I guess a great reminder of you sleep with the devil who knows what you're going to guess.
01:03:54 --> 01:03:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:03:55 --> 01:03:59 [SPEAKER_05]: And she, well, the most should have understood of that principle.
01:03:59 --> 01:04:08 [SPEAKER_06]: I certainly feel sorry for her being put in the situation, but once she took that step, even with the tear coming down her face, when she took
01:04:08 --> 01:04:12 [SPEAKER_06]: a better former pastor seemed like a genuinely lovely Christian man.
01:04:12 --> 01:04:15 [SPEAKER_06]: Once you took that step, there was no going back for it.
01:04:15 --> 01:04:18 [SPEAKER_06]: She had to meet her end.
01:04:18 --> 01:04:21 [SPEAKER_06]: She'd gone against all of her principles for a home lander.
01:04:21 --> 01:04:24 [SPEAKER_06]: So, yep, it is a sad moment when anybody dies.
01:04:24 --> 01:04:27 [SPEAKER_06]: But she was due to meet her end from that point onwards.
01:04:28 --> 01:04:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Definitely.
01:04:29 --> 01:04:32 [SPEAKER_06]: We have got an email in from Coffee and Vodka with his thoughts on this episode.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks for much Harrison.
01:04:33 --> 01:04:34 [SPEAKER_06]: Sorry for your voice, Matthew.
01:04:34 --> 01:04:35 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much Harrison.
01:04:35 --> 01:05:01 [SPEAKER_06]: Um, coffee and vodka says greetings fellow segmented defenders loathed the vignette format with each long form scene coming together to complete an episode, which pretty much led nowhere in particular, it was however fun and tragic getting there with both ends of the bridge burnt firecracker's terminal ending seems a mercy while black noirs I come with anything bush, the deeps become a visible threat his learned he's learned to think or two about coercion and is employing the lessons well better late than ever.
01:05:01 --> 01:05:21 [SPEAKER_06]: Sage's end game is understandable if not the global cost to achieve it with hate quality alone time is quality alone time as for the boys it was nice to see a day of the life especially through terrors horny and hungry eyes and the end Billy's still willing to compromise the best bit with the poker playing backstapping celebs seriously want to hear the lines they chose not to use for that seems
01:05:21 --> 01:05:41 [SPEAKER_06]: The greatest line they did use, best day of my life was when they executed Hader, more offers for the 4th day, if he didn't know what was coming, but most of laughed himself off the cage, a great episode, five terrorized toys, theatrical barrel rolls, and God glazed meat wallets, I shall find peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
01:05:41 --> 01:05:57 [SPEAKER_05]: great stuff coffee involved absolutely yeah absolutely that would be a great to see the improv that wasn't used around that table yeah and yeah Sage's Endgame is understandable and maybe it is
01:05:57 --> 01:06:05 [SPEAKER_05]: And it's just whether Ashley and Ashley will be allowed to join her in that underground bunker.
01:06:06 --> 01:06:20 [SPEAKER_06]: I am genuinely expecting that if they do go with the engine this stage is expected to happen that we'll have the Twilight Zone ending where she's sitting in a library going, Ah, finally time alone and then she goes blind and she got read any books.
01:06:20 --> 01:06:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Which is the famous Twilight Zone episode where that happens.
01:06:25 --> 01:06:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent stuff.
01:06:26 --> 01:06:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks coffee vodka.
01:06:26 --> 01:06:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, thanks coffee vodka.
01:06:28 --> 01:06:39 [SPEAKER_06]: We also have another voicemail in this time from Steve Bran who doesn't need to quite do a Live Steve, but does give us his thoughts on the entire episode good stuff.
01:06:39 --> 01:06:40 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
01:06:40 --> 01:06:41 [SPEAKER_04]: Hello, TV podcast energies.
01:06:41 --> 01:06:45 [SPEAKER_04]: This is Steve And I'm just now watching for the first time the boy is season five episode
01:06:46 --> 01:06:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Is it five, one shots?
01:06:47 --> 01:06:48 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think so.
01:06:49 --> 01:06:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Wow.
01:06:50 --> 01:06:51 [SPEAKER_04]: This whole winter commercial is crazy.
01:06:52 --> 01:06:54 [SPEAKER_04]: The title card is saying firecracker instead of the boys.
01:06:55 --> 01:06:55 [SPEAKER_04]: Interesting.
01:06:55 --> 01:07:03 [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to do a live Steve, but I'm afraid, if I do a live Steve, I might say something that would answer the pub quiz question that hasn't been asked yet.
01:07:03 --> 01:07:06 [SPEAKER_04]: So probably just come back at the end and give my thoughts.
01:07:07 --> 01:07:07 [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
01:07:07 --> 01:07:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Plus, all the legit talk and Christianity talk has got me a little uncomfortable with my faith being Christianity.
01:07:14 --> 01:07:14 [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I get it.
01:07:14 --> 01:07:16 [SPEAKER_04]: Now the title card just came up for Black Noir.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:22 [SPEAKER_04]: So we're going to see each events from different characters perspective is what it looks like.
01:07:22 --> 01:07:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Cool.
01:07:23 --> 01:07:27 [SPEAKER_04]: And Black Noir, too, as an actor, is just perfect.
01:07:27 --> 01:07:29 [SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait to see how this turns out.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:42 [SPEAKER_04]: And now even terror is getting a piece of the episode and sister stage working behind
01:07:43 --> 01:07:45 [SPEAKER_04]: Um, World War Sup.
01:07:45 --> 01:07:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, she's going to try to hide out from the virus and the close captioning calls.
01:07:51 --> 01:07:53 [SPEAKER_04]: Actually, he's forever at Bashley.
01:07:53 --> 01:07:54 [SPEAKER_04]: I guess I think back Ashley.
01:07:55 --> 01:07:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, and now we get soldier boys, perspective.
01:07:58 --> 01:08:02 [SPEAKER_04]: Jensen Ackels and I guess we'll see what cameo as we get from that.
01:08:03 --> 01:08:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Stan, I could just say it's a delightful reunion and we're going to get back.
01:08:07 --> 01:08:09 [SPEAKER_04]: There he is, Jared Petlucky, Mr. Marathon.
01:08:09 --> 01:08:14 [SPEAKER_04]: And of course, the meta of the posters and the way Jared, the way Mr. Marathon is talking is great.
01:08:15 --> 01:08:17 [SPEAKER_04]: And now so many cameo is happening.
01:08:17 --> 01:08:20 [SPEAKER_04]: We should call and now I can't even name everybody who's in this scene.
01:08:20 --> 01:08:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Our words cannot.
01:08:22 --> 01:08:26 [SPEAKER_04]: express that final scene there in Mr. Mirathon's house.
01:08:27 --> 01:08:29 [SPEAKER_04]: Wow, I can't wait to watch it again and buy a guest about it.
01:08:30 --> 01:08:32 [SPEAKER_04]: And so much for Firecracker, right?
01:08:32 --> 01:08:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Talk to you later.
01:08:34 --> 01:08:36 [SPEAKER_05]: Excellent stuff Steve.
01:08:36 --> 01:08:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks so much for your thoughts through the episode.
01:08:41 --> 01:08:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, I think
01:08:44 --> 01:08:57 [SPEAKER_05]: The black new arthing as a double-jobbing suit but doing local Amazir dramatic really really good and I think they almost got to play the Broadway Well, that's true.
01:08:57 --> 01:08:59 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's more than local Amazir dramatic.
01:08:59 --> 01:09:09 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely, but I'm kind of saying that because I think it makes it even funnier Yeah, there's notion these in a local sort of theatre Community theatre doing stuff like
01:09:09 --> 01:09:15 [SPEAKER_06]: a lot of people do, you know, and the dranger of the dawn of the seven has gone to the computer.
01:09:16 --> 01:09:27 [SPEAKER_05]: It's the fall from grace, I think, which is so good that even though he's still in the seven, for black, you know, it's just, and I think that fall from grace comes, you know, more and more as, I think,
01:09:27 --> 01:09:44 [SPEAKER_05]: You know, coffee and vodka said around that, the viable threat that the deep and the methods that he's employing, but I do think, I think that might be the black noir, the resurrection might happen with
01:09:44 --> 01:09:51 [SPEAKER_05]: the amount of anger he is offering up within that suit and that silence.
01:09:51 --> 01:10:01 [SPEAKER_05]: So it'll be interesting to see that and as you say sort of the the LA House scene was just breathtaking a good welder.
01:10:02 --> 01:10:11 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely, you know, I really would love to have seen Black Aware due a barrel
01:10:11 --> 01:10:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, we should do a barrel roll here.
01:10:14 --> 01:10:15 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't believe the dialogue.
01:10:15 --> 01:10:16 [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent stuff.
01:10:16 --> 01:10:17 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much for that Steve.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Great to hear me.
01:10:18 --> 01:10:19 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, thanks Steve.
01:10:19 --> 01:10:21 [SPEAKER_06]: We also have to be back in from Denise Diplorio, Jim.
01:10:21 --> 01:10:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, Denise says, hello.
01:10:23 --> 01:10:27 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm all caught up with the show and podcast through episode four.
01:10:27 --> 01:10:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you, Derek.
01:10:28 --> 01:10:32 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not just a cranky old lady saying I can't see a damn thing.
01:10:32 --> 01:10:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Just a general note, appreciation for the costume department, from the library theme to merge in Gen V to the inmates uniforms to the sweatshirt Annie Borrow's from her stepmother.
01:10:44 --> 01:10:47 [SPEAKER_05]: That soupsaw of snark is just perfect.
01:10:47 --> 01:10:52 [SPEAKER_05]: Looking forward to the last episodes and being able to see them.
01:10:52 --> 01:10:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Cheers to these thanks to these for that.
01:10:55 --> 01:10:59 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I know that some of the messages on the
01:10:59 --> 01:11:06 [SPEAKER_05]: The costumes have been great, I mean, even just the fact that they get mothers milk into a brish and he spears, she sure, absolutely.
01:11:06 --> 01:11:12 [SPEAKER_06]: And just really, really good as Larry's, you know, I love that the next episode, they had a moment with M.M.
01:11:12 --> 01:11:19 [SPEAKER_06]: where he gets himself back into his rap T-shirt and it was like he was getting his uniform back on, you know, like he's getting his super costume back on, in fact, yeah, really.
01:11:19 --> 01:11:20 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
01:11:20 --> 01:11:23 [SPEAKER_06]: The costume department's doing a great job as always.
01:11:23 --> 01:11:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much, Nase.
01:11:24 --> 01:11:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, thanks to Nase.
01:11:25 --> 01:11:27 [SPEAKER_06]: Hopefully we'll hear from you again before the end of the season as well.
01:11:27 --> 01:11:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, you're a thoughts.
01:11:28 --> 01:11:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Over to Discord.
01:11:30 --> 01:11:31 [SPEAKER_06]: We had some feedback from Dr. Bob.
01:11:31 --> 01:11:33 [SPEAKER_06]: First up, I want to say thanks so much to Dr. Bob.
01:11:33 --> 01:11:36 [SPEAKER_06]: I forgot to put the S-Boy that posted up on Discord this week and Dr. Bob.
01:11:37 --> 01:11:40 [SPEAKER_06]: Step up and put in his thoughts where everybody left their thoughts after this week.
01:11:40 --> 01:11:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks, Dr. Bob.
01:11:41 --> 01:11:49 [SPEAKER_06]: And Dr. Bob says, it's a week for unexpected death in TVPi terrors, isn't this after all the characters dying in other shows as well?
01:11:50 --> 01:11:54 [SPEAKER_06]: These switch and stitch episodes bring a different perspective on the world.
01:11:54 --> 01:12:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Terror and the war were a beautiful little love notes to pets and the profession wasn't expecting sage revelation, but it makes it tremendous some victims.
01:12:02 --> 01:12:20 [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, yeah, I feel the most smartest person in the world surrounded by idiots all you want to be is surrounded by no one and your book, sir Yeah, I'm absolutely I do like your thoughts of the Twilight Zone That would be blind Superly sort of twist is dark got a dark absolutely and
01:12:20 --> 01:12:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and lots of deaths this week, and in the world of podcasting from TVPI, and so yeah, thanks so much Dr. Bob, and also on Discord, what says, I was convinced noir was going to kill deep, still time, yeah, though.
01:12:39 --> 01:12:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Not sure how homeland is going to explain firecrackers death to the others, is this going to make them more loyal, out of fear,
01:12:49 --> 01:12:58 [SPEAKER_05]: Considering how homelander wants everyone to love him, it would be poetic for him to be alone at the end and for everyone to turn on him and kill him.
01:12:59 --> 01:13:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Would we see Sage go behind homelander's back and help the boys kill him?
01:13:04 --> 01:13:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Excellent questions there, Walt.
01:13:07 --> 01:13:11 [SPEAKER_05]: definitely with you around Black Nuar.
01:13:12 --> 01:13:22 [SPEAKER_05]: I thought something was going to happen to the deep, and then you kind of got deep reasserting himself, but like you say, still time yet, and I definitely think that that time is going to come.
01:13:23 --> 01:13:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Interesting theory as well, how this may kind of
01:13:28 --> 01:13:33 [SPEAKER_05]: phase out or complete out, I guess, around home under in that yes, you're right.
01:13:33 --> 01:13:38 [SPEAKER_05]: He is looking for affection, love, adoration, devotion.
01:13:39 --> 01:13:44 [SPEAKER_05]: And in a sense what we have is no one has that towards him at all.
01:13:44 --> 01:13:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe there's some stirring from soldier boy, but it will be very interesting to see if Sage goes behind his back because
01:13:54 --> 01:14:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, she has a loss of room for maneuver with her intelligence.
01:14:00 --> 01:14:07 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's it's an interesting one as well as how a homeland would explain the death of firecracker because homeland doesn't explain anything.
01:14:07 --> 01:14:09 [SPEAKER_06]: She's dead because he chose her to be dead.
01:14:09 --> 01:14:12 [SPEAKER_06]: That's kind of the way homeland will play this.
01:14:12 --> 01:14:14 [SPEAKER_06]: We've seen the rest of them don't have any backbone at all the random.
01:14:14 --> 01:14:22 [SPEAKER_06]: The Deep has zero backbone, he's willing to turn in his best friend, not get his best friend so that he can just get one tiny one-up with home ladder.
01:14:22 --> 01:14:24 [SPEAKER_06]: And really all that, that's paid off now.
01:14:24 --> 01:14:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Home ladder just said, can you go a little bit easier on the Deep to the soldier boy?
01:14:29 --> 01:14:34 [SPEAKER_06]: That's probably as far as him bringing Stalegger into him, we'll get for the Deep.
01:14:34 --> 01:14:36 [SPEAKER_06]: He won't get any extra special benefit other than that.
01:14:36 --> 01:14:40 [SPEAKER_06]: One moment where home ladder protected him for a quick second.
01:14:40 --> 01:14:44 [SPEAKER_06]: Black Dwarr is just going to play the silence until he gets the chance to get the leap.
01:14:45 --> 01:14:48 [SPEAKER_06]: I think and Opha there is really seeing the benefit of being the head of the church.
01:14:48 --> 01:15:02 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it'd be really happy that the other one of the disciples, as he said, for firecrackers, he'd be really happy the firecrackers gone, so he doesn't have anybody else in the way and he can get his vision for the church out there with anybody stopping him or slowing down the printing presses.
01:15:02 --> 01:15:04 [SPEAKER_06]: That's as firecrackers was trying to do as well.
01:15:05 --> 01:15:05 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
01:15:05 --> 01:15:08 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, so that really just
01:15:08 --> 01:15:12 [SPEAKER_06]: if Sage believes she's going to get what she wants by teaming up with the boys team.
01:15:12 --> 01:15:17 [SPEAKER_06]: If that's the the path to get her to her ivory terrors around the by books.
01:15:18 --> 01:15:19 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, maybe she will team up with the boys.
01:15:20 --> 01:15:23 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, if that truthfully is her plan.
01:15:23 --> 01:15:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, it's definitely great stuff.
01:15:25 --> 01:15:27 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much for your feedback.
01:15:27 --> 01:15:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks, Walt.
01:15:28 --> 01:15:32 [SPEAKER_06]: Joe Herb says, Sage hasn't been as interesting, like, likely.
01:15:32 --> 01:15:36 [SPEAKER_06]: I could definitely see her being part of the plan to kill homelanders since she said she was going.
01:15:36 --> 01:15:37 [SPEAKER_06]: She wants him gone.
01:15:37 --> 01:15:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Curious how plays out with noir and deep, my assumption is that deep meets a nasty end possible with the hands in the war.
01:15:43 --> 01:15:45 [SPEAKER_06]: So, Joe Boyy really goes back and forest.
01:15:45 --> 01:15:47 [SPEAKER_06]: The cameo is the poker party or we're amusing.
01:15:47 --> 01:15:51 [SPEAKER_06]: It would have been funny if those plans had been the ones to take dead homelanders.
01:15:51 --> 01:15:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Most significantly I was worried for terror the whole time.
01:15:54 --> 01:16:01 [SPEAKER_06]: Overall, it's wild hair pressure the show is It was written like two years ago filmed a year ago and yet so much is lining up with events today.
01:16:01 --> 01:16:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Crazy.
01:16:02 --> 01:16:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Indeed indeed it is crazy.
01:16:05 --> 01:16:10 [SPEAKER_06]: I did there is a moment that you could tell they were they were adding an extra line of dialogue though
01:16:10 --> 01:16:18 [SPEAKER_06]: because they have a scene where Ashley's talking to someone in Ukraine and she's looking at the window facing away from the camera.
01:16:18 --> 01:16:30 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sure they were going to replace that with somebody else, you know, if the just to make the joke work in case the Ukraine more had finished, which would absolutely should be by now, they were right at the dialogue to fix that.
01:16:30 --> 01:16:39 [SPEAKER_06]: So I'm sure there's some things there, they're doing more recently than a year or two ago, but overall the overarching story like absolutely the amazing how how precious it's been.
01:16:39 --> 01:16:49 [SPEAKER_05]: And I think you're right, you know, if Song's a boy, it is in a real sort of gray zone around his thoughts about home under.
01:16:49 --> 01:17:00 [SPEAKER_05]: And I like how it's been not only being addressed by home under directly, like we get this episode, but also being picked up by sister sage as well with her discussions with back Ashley and Ashley.
01:17:00 --> 01:17:01 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
01:17:01 --> 01:17:09 [SPEAKER_06]: But wouldn't it be great if the supernatural boys were the ones to come in and take down home like, you know, just another thing for the board.
01:17:09 --> 01:17:16 [SPEAKER_05]: Great stuff, thanks Joe for your thoughts, Ken Logg on Discord says, really hopes Sister Sage dies soon.
01:17:17 --> 01:17:30 [SPEAKER_05]: The issue with writing, the smartest person in the world, is they can never be smarter than the writers, and so she instead spends her time losing and going all according to plan and it's becoming tiring.
01:17:30 --> 01:17:32 [SPEAKER_05]: Overall though, I really enjoyed this episode.
01:17:32 --> 01:17:36 [SPEAKER_05]: Seems the deep and the wild death flags are fully raised now.
01:17:36 --> 01:17:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Valerie Curry gave an absolutely stellar performance as always.
01:17:41 --> 01:17:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Got to always be hard to re-descript and realise your character dies.
01:17:46 --> 01:17:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:17:47 --> 01:18:05 [SPEAKER_05]: absolutely can log so only in the way that she does it is so in a sense it's deserved, in a sense it's undeserved but it's just the trap that has happened to her and
01:18:05 --> 01:18:14 [SPEAKER_05]: the trap that it can happen to a lot of people if they go with someone with so little ethical baseline.
01:18:15 --> 01:18:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:18:15 --> 01:18:16 [SPEAKER_05]: And that's what happens.
01:18:17 --> 01:18:19 [SPEAKER_05]: Everyone becomes dispensable.
01:18:19 --> 01:18:20 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, exactly.
01:18:20 --> 01:18:20 [SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
01:18:21 --> 01:18:22 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much for the feedback and log.
01:18:22 --> 01:18:23 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, thanks Kenlog.
01:18:23 --> 01:18:30 [SPEAKER_06]: Uh, over on Facebook, Mindy Megan says, bless the boy's official account for exploding people, pumping things, the boy's business.
01:18:30 --> 01:18:32 [SPEAKER_06]: And finally, we had our team free will reunion.
01:18:33 --> 01:18:38 [SPEAKER_06]: It felt like the movie, this is the end with all the funny guys, playing themselves and meeting Gory on timely deaths.
01:18:38 --> 01:18:44 [SPEAKER_06]: I love the change in format, and very glad we didn't lose good L-Tera, absolutely didn't expect the end.
01:18:44 --> 01:18:52 [SPEAKER_06]: It's been said several times, but both of the shows were watching together, weekly have eerie, real-life parallels, and this week had big deaths I didn't see coming.
01:18:52 --> 01:18:55 [SPEAKER_06]: Overall, what a super fun, truly bonkers episode.
01:18:55 --> 01:19:05 [SPEAKER_06]: PS, what I wouldn't give for the Aotex with Jensen Jarrod and Misha, I really hope they released the version of the scene they filmed as their supernatural characters if it really exists.
01:19:05 --> 01:19:32 [SPEAKER_06]: They did release a scene where Jensen Jarrod and Misha are playing at Superheroes and Jarrod and Misha make costumes at a tinfoil or aluminum foil if you're from America Which was very funny and also yeah, I like to let the nod to the boys official accounts are there and their message The invincible official account also put at a message to say that don't worry Seth Rogan recorded it all his lines for invincible season five before this week's episode Anyways, which I thought was very good
01:19:32 --> 01:19:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely great stuff.
01:19:34 --> 01:19:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks, Mindy.
01:19:34 --> 01:19:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely, thanks, Mindy.
01:19:35 --> 01:19:46 [SPEAKER_05]: Also on Facebook, Heather Wallace says as soon as the ad for Homelander's crazed church mentioned a remington, I knew this would be a reunion for Supernatural's Winchester Boys.
01:19:47 --> 01:19:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Both the names are gun types.
01:19:49 --> 01:19:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, one of Mr. Marathons' movie posters even had the tagline supernatural speed stuck.
01:19:54 --> 01:20:01 [SPEAKER_05]: When Sage mentioned all the overseas suits being recalled, I thought she wanted to expose them to the virus to take them down.
01:20:01 --> 01:20:04 [SPEAKER_05]: And maybe she was secretly trying to save the world.
01:20:04 --> 01:20:12 [SPEAKER_05]: But no, her end game is burnt down the world and kill everyone, so she can spend all day reading on disturbed.
01:20:12 --> 01:20:19 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not unsympathetic, and I've certainly dumped Boyfriends who interrupted my reading, but that's a bit extreme.
01:20:19 --> 01:20:25 [SPEAKER_05]: A black noile story reminded me of Wonderman, and actor hiding their superpowers.
01:20:25 --> 01:20:33 [SPEAKER_05]: Love that the play was about the Beast of Cheese, but very disappointed no one was attempting the Gibbs British Australian accent.
01:20:33 --> 01:20:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Don Noble could have given them some dodgy accent lessons, and as for Firecracker, as soon as she said, even Gods need love, I started covering my eyes.
01:20:45 --> 01:20:46 [SPEAKER_05]: An issue is a garner.
01:20:46 --> 01:20:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Actually, I covered my eyes a lot in that episode, not least at Terror's Disturbing Treatment.
01:20:53 --> 01:21:11 [SPEAKER_05]: great stuff here that yeah I am totally with you on the cuffering of eyes and not so much for terrors disturbing dreams there's something quite tight I guess about to land as bones but yes indeed I think it's one of the turkey.
01:21:11 --> 01:21:28 [SPEAKER_05]: the whole sense of tension impending just awfulness coming from firecrackers interaction with
01:21:30 --> 01:21:31 [SPEAKER_05]: was almost a bit too much of that.
01:21:32 --> 01:21:34 [SPEAKER_05]: But I think it's a really good way for me.
01:21:34 --> 01:21:37 [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, some people just don't like it and so don't like the scene.
01:21:37 --> 01:21:41 [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's the quality of the scene that I don't want to say it makes me want to turn away.
01:21:41 --> 01:21:44 [SPEAKER_05]: It becomes so foreboding.
01:21:45 --> 01:21:45 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:21:45 --> 01:21:46 [SPEAKER_05]: And that
01:21:46 --> 01:21:50 [SPEAKER_05]: It becomes unbearable, and that's great.
01:21:50 --> 01:21:51 [SPEAKER_05]: Great TV.
01:21:51 --> 01:22:03 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, thanks so much Heather for your thoughts Absolutely thanks, Heather and we also got some feedback in from David Mr. Reiser who says well I guess in the final season they killed people off producer Adam Bork It was nice seeing your movies.
01:22:03 --> 01:22:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Don't know the seven was my favorite.
01:22:05 --> 01:22:09 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm hilarious was the set when Anthony Staro is filming those terror date day dreams scenes
01:22:09 --> 01:22:12 [SPEAKER_06]: They really rode at the carpet with the cameo's here for that poker game.
01:22:13 --> 01:22:14 [SPEAKER_06]: I was fun seeing overall.
01:22:14 --> 01:22:16 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm sure they had a lot of fun shooting as well.
01:22:16 --> 01:22:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Firecracker, it was a journey.
01:22:18 --> 01:22:21 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm glad they let her expand her range before her untimely death.
01:22:21 --> 01:22:22 [SPEAKER_06]: She really still let scene.
01:22:23 --> 01:22:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Very weird episode for me though.
01:22:24 --> 01:22:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Hopefully it's a great setup for episode 6.
01:22:26 --> 01:22:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Episode 6 is of always been legendary on the boys.
01:22:29 --> 01:22:50 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes indeed David Mr. Reiter, I think lots of good hilarious fun stuff throughout this episode as you say and can't wait for episode 6 as well because yeah it'd be an interesting one to follow and certainly with
01:22:50 --> 01:23:05 [SPEAKER_05]: all the fall out from, you know, the case of a form of vote, uh, soup, having been killed, and firecracker, the mouthpiece for the organization, as well as lots of baby, um, sort of,
01:23:06 --> 01:23:10 [SPEAKER_05]: backhanded plans that have been urged.
01:23:10 --> 01:23:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Or maybe it's maybe seized through the masquerade black noir as well.
01:23:15 --> 01:23:17 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, so yeah, should be interesting.
01:23:17 --> 01:23:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks David.
01:23:18 --> 01:23:24 [SPEAKER_06]: And we have some last second feedback in that I think a little from Merrill Smith well done Merrill to get in there just in time.
01:23:24 --> 01:23:28 [SPEAKER_06]: She says, welcome back fellow homelander, loyalists and Ijuts.
01:23:28 --> 01:23:32 [SPEAKER_06]: We've officially made it to the supernatural reunion episode, and it did not disappoint.
01:23:32 --> 01:23:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Honestly, it was spectacular to explore through this different framing device of the one shots, especially when you really realize that we don't necessarily focus on the seven side of things.
01:23:41 --> 01:23:46 [SPEAKER_06]: There's usually a decent enough balance between equally showing the boys, the seven, and everyone else in between.
01:23:46 --> 01:23:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Since it's the last time we're seeing her, let's keep the phrase going her honor, or IP firecracker, heavens to Betsy.
01:23:53 --> 01:23:58 [SPEAKER_06]: Valerie Carey has been one of the most uniquely entertaining additions to the series and it'll be Saturn with it.
01:23:58 --> 01:24:05 [SPEAKER_06]: Her character was a terrible person who did terrible things and the end got all this coming to her, but she was very entertaining at that job.
01:24:06 --> 01:24:13 [SPEAKER_06]: I think two of my favorite scenes of the episode were during her show when she was to the 9th Sir Church and Pastor and the single Tier Felt from her eye.
01:24:13 --> 01:24:18 [SPEAKER_06]: The other one being her final scene with homelander where she tells him how dedicated and loyal she is to him.
01:24:18 --> 01:24:24 [SPEAKER_06]: You can even see through Anthony Stars performance that it is touching homelander, but it makes homelander feel something.
01:24:24 --> 01:24:27 [SPEAKER_06]: And if he feels something, he can't do what's necessary to reach his ascension.
01:24:28 --> 01:24:32 [SPEAKER_06]: It's quite depressing because you see that she sacrificed everything and it still wasn't enough.
01:24:32 --> 01:24:36 [SPEAKER_06]: Also, I think what homelander Kilder with was meant to be symbolic, and a little ironic at the same time.
01:24:36 --> 01:24:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Next, let's talk about Nguar.
01:24:38 --> 01:24:44 [SPEAKER_06]: It is nice to see what went into him, honing his craft as an actor to perfectly capture that performance as Nguar.
01:24:44 --> 01:24:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Unfortunately, Adam had to get eel such a nasty way to go.
01:24:48 --> 01:24:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Let's hope when the character's time to die comes up, it has to be deep.
01:24:52 --> 01:24:55 [SPEAKER_06]: First time we see him outside of a season he looks like a douchebag.
01:24:55 --> 01:24:58 [SPEAKER_06]: Of course Adam had the perfect last words.
01:24:59 --> 01:25:06 [SPEAKER_06]: It was even more interesting that we got him inside of the boys from the perspective of terror on a side of homeland that will definitely be meamed to oblivion.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:15 [SPEAKER_06]: Regarding the sister-said situation, I think that the plan she has cooked up will not play the way she thinks that probably not the whole plan that she revealed to the Ashley's.
01:25:15 --> 01:25:21 [SPEAKER_06]: The rule is if the plan is revealed on screen, it's going to go off the rails at some point and it won't happen exactly as planned.
01:25:21 --> 01:25:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Lastly, Seljaboy and his wonderful reunion.
01:25:24 --> 01:25:29 [SPEAKER_06]: It was so nice to see Jensen reunited with Jared and Misha on screen after six years since the ending of Supernatural.
01:25:29 --> 01:25:33 [SPEAKER_06]: These guys barely skipped a beat and it feels just like they got our days.
01:25:33 --> 01:25:46 [SPEAKER_06]: I also love the low-key Metabomone when homelander is noctasian marathon and Malchamical try to persuade soldier boy to take at homelander and that they can be effing awesome, but soldier boy rejects the offer and refuses to do another supernatural project with them.
01:25:46 --> 01:25:48 [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, help killed his son.
01:25:48 --> 01:25:54 [SPEAKER_06]: or a P to the this is the end cast, the other celebrities and the to really extenduate this show is over.
01:25:55 --> 01:25:57 [SPEAKER_06]: Let's take out the producer Seth Rogen for good measure.
01:25:58 --> 01:26:05 [SPEAKER_06]: Part of we think that maybe he hasn't really actually sided with homeland or but will be instrumental in helping take him down.
01:26:05 --> 01:26:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Since he knows that homelander has a great affection for him and it's extremely hard for him to kill father figures, but not mother figures, which is why still well and eventually firecracker hat to go, staying close to homelander, and being one of the few that doesn't fear him, puts him in an even perfect position to take him age and possibly even himself because he also has to go to.
01:26:26 --> 01:26:35 [SPEAKER_06]: I think the next episode will probably be when we get to check in with our resident
01:26:35 --> 01:26:54 [SPEAKER_05]: for toilet eels in the heinous milk sponsorship via church donations celebrity blood sausage parties and mashed marathons extra five excellent stuff marald aggro and really could get your feedback the the anything I would say is I think maybe the deep may fall at the hands of
01:26:54 --> 01:26:56 [SPEAKER_05]: black noir rather than the other way round.
01:26:56 --> 01:26:59 [SPEAKER_05]: But equally, I think you're right, it could be either way.
01:26:59 --> 01:27:01 [SPEAKER_05]: It depends just how they want to write it.
01:27:01 --> 01:27:01 [SPEAKER_05]: Sure.
01:27:02 --> 01:27:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Or maybe it's one of those both die at the same time, the both kill one another.
01:27:06 --> 01:27:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Could be that.
01:27:07 --> 01:27:07 [SPEAKER_05]: It could be that.
01:27:07 --> 01:27:13 [SPEAKER_05]: And yet the reunion was super absolutely loved it.
01:27:13 --> 01:27:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Everything you say there, you know, the refusal effectively to do a supernatural reunion.
01:27:20 --> 01:27:23 [SPEAKER_05]: And all of that was so amazing.
01:27:23 --> 01:27:23 [SPEAKER_06]: together.
01:27:23 --> 01:27:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:27:24 --> 01:27:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Same time.
01:27:24 --> 01:27:27 [SPEAKER_06]: I don't even need to be in the 7, but we could be amazing.
01:27:27 --> 01:27:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
01:27:28 --> 01:27:28 [SPEAKER_06]: I know.
01:27:28 --> 01:27:30 [SPEAKER_06]: It was really, really good.
01:27:30 --> 01:27:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, really, really good.
01:27:31 --> 01:27:32 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much for that, Merrill.
01:27:32 --> 01:27:36 [SPEAKER_06]: I actually always expected the deep would die at the hands of Starlight.
01:27:36 --> 01:27:36 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
01:27:37 --> 01:27:40 [SPEAKER_06]: The callback really all the way back to season one and what he did to her.
01:27:40 --> 01:27:42 [SPEAKER_06]: So I always thought that would be the way.
01:27:42 --> 01:27:43 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not still could be.
01:27:43 --> 01:27:46 [SPEAKER_06]: I mean, but the really setting up Black Noir to be the one to kill the deep in this episode.
01:27:46 --> 01:27:47 [SPEAKER_06]: They're at the
01:27:47 --> 01:27:48 [SPEAKER_05]: definitely, definitely.
01:27:49 --> 01:27:59 [SPEAKER_05]: And I think, yeah, to your point around via cracker, heavens to Betsy, indeed, you have Valerie Curry super, they're good with what she's done here.
01:27:59 --> 01:28:04 [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, I mean, the final scene with her and home under that, I think, is just so...
01:28:04 --> 01:28:17 [SPEAKER_05]: so, um, telling, uh, loyal to him, but not enough still despite everything, uh, she has sacrificed or dedicated to him, uh, it is never enough.
01:28:18 --> 01:28:21 [SPEAKER_05]: Um, and, and, and so she goes.
01:28:21 --> 01:28:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly.
01:28:22 --> 01:28:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
01:28:23 --> 01:28:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much for your free feedback.
01:28:25 --> 01:28:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, thanks, Marl.
01:28:26 --> 01:28:37 [SPEAKER_05]: And finally, on Facebook, we have Jamie Lawson, who says, I love this episode, not only the reunion of the supernatural boys, but also some Hollywood luminaries playing themselves.
01:28:37 --> 01:28:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Love the way solider boy took care of it all.
01:28:40 --> 01:28:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:28:42 --> 01:28:44 [SPEAKER_06]: Um, why, why did he do this?
01:28:45 --> 01:28:46 [SPEAKER_06]: Could have been the way out for the whole world.
01:28:47 --> 01:28:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Could have been Annie, could have been the charge of the seven.
01:28:50 --> 01:28:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, but if anyone's gonna mess with this son, it's him.

01:31:00 --> 01:31:05 [SPEAKER_06]: and he threw it in the bay and almost killed terror.
01:31:06 --> 01:31:12 [SPEAKER_05]: You know, you have soldier boy after another round with firecapper.
01:31:13 --> 01:31:15 [SPEAKER_06]: Let's try that again.
01:31:15 --> 01:31:19 [SPEAKER_05]: After another round of firecrackers, will you leave?
01:31:19 --> 01:31:32 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think the reunion of the supernatural boys with Jensenas, with Jensenackels, Jared Pedaleski and Mishka Collins.
01:31:33 --> 01:31:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Pedaleski, Mishka Collins.
01:31:36 --> 01:31:42 [SPEAKER_05]: with Jared Paddlekki and Mika Collins, Rit, Misha, that's what he says.
01:31:42 --> 01:31:45 [SPEAKER_06]: That was Misha, Misha, Misha, Misha, Misha.
01:31:45 --> 01:31:49 [SPEAKER_05]: And Misha Collins is just really nicely placed here.
01:31:49 --> 01:31:51 [SPEAKER_05]: And in terms of bringing them together.
01:31:52 --> 01:31:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, you lie.
01:31:52 --> 01:31:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Three more episodes to go with the boys.
01:31:54 --> 01:31:59 [SPEAKER_06]: One more episode of Daredevil to go and then an episode of Punisher, the Punisher won last kill to go.
01:31:59 --> 01:32:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'm just gonna be a big month.
01:32:02 --> 01:32:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, before into the Spider-Man.
01:32:05 --> 01:32:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Jesus.
01:32:06 --> 01:32:07 [SPEAKER_05]: No, I think that's it.
01:32:08 --> 01:32:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah before going into the the next Spider-Man movie.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.
01:32:12 --> 01:32:12 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:32:12 --> 01:32:13 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's gonna be fun.
01:32:13 --> 01:32:14 [SPEAKER_05]: What are you?
