Developed by: Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg & Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Episode written by: Lauren Greer

Episode directed by: Karen Gaviola

Synopsis:

One month ago, Dean Cipher was looking after his father when Sister Sage arrived, to give him a housewarming gift. She playfully slapped Cipher and they had sex in the bathroom as the Dean’s incapacitated father watches on.

After using her expanded powerset to beat Jordan at the Unsafe Spaces battle, Cipher forces Marie to continue training by threatening to take her and her friends back to Elmira with Cate, whom he had imprisoned.

Knowing how terrifying the detention centre is, Marie convinces Jordan and Emma to rescue Cate. Emma is scared they are going to get captured without a very strong Supe on their side. She tries to recruit Sam to join them but he refuses. He has returned to his childhood home trying to make amends with his estranged parents.

Sam’s trip home is full of revelations. He had always believed the compound V inside his body is what broke his brain but learns from his mother that they handed him over to Vought because they were scared of what he might do when he was a child due to what his mother believes is a hereditary mental instability.

Meanwhile at the attempted prison break Marie, Jordan, and Emma enter Elmira, but are instantly captured and placed in cells inside the facility.

Back at Godolkin University Polarity confronts Cipher about the death of his son Andre, The Dean unabashedly tells him that he died when Cipher tried to enhance his powers. At home following the revelations Polarity suffers a severe seizure and falls to the ground.

To try to persuade Marie to finally give in to his training, Cipher shows her that he is holding her estranged sister Annabeth. Working together with Cate the group escapes their cells but when they reach Annabeth's cell, they find her dead.

In her grief, Marie's powers develop further, successfully manipulating Annabeth's cells to revive her.

[JORDAN]: Cipher was right.

[JORDAN]: About you.

[JORDAN]: About your power.

00:22.108 --> 00:22.969
[MARIE]: He's not he's not.

00:23.029 --> 00:23.429
[JORDAN]: Marie.

00:23.490 --> 00:24.630
[MARIE]: He's not right.

00:24.971 --> 00:26.312
[CIPHER]: I beg to differ.

00:28.937 --> 00:32.200
[CIPHER]: I'm pretty right, so what was that like for you?

00:33.281 --> 00:35.903
[CIPHER]: Your powers hightened stronger than they've ever been.

00:36.804 --> 00:37.344
[CIPHER]: Terrifying.

00:37.665 --> 00:40.887
[CIPHER]: I'm sure, but also exhilarating, yeah?

00:41.588 --> 00:46.893
[CIPHER]: Exciting, stimulating, thrilling, just throw together a few synonyms and humour me.

01:12.348 --> 01:16.951
[DEREK]: Welcome back for the girls and boys to the Gen V podcast from TV podcast industry.

01:16.991 --> 01:22.235
[DEREK]: We're back on the fifth episode of Gen V season two, the kids are not all right.

01:22.555 --> 01:29.720
[CHRIS]: I'm one of your host Derek and rounding out this duo of dynamic Gen V's I am Chris.

01:30.180 --> 01:31.021
[DEREK]: Welcome back Chris.

01:31.301 --> 01:32.342
[CHRIS]: Thank you thank you thank you.

01:32.682 --> 01:39.667
[DEREK]: We have been joking about the fact that your self and genre never on the same podcast so you're actually just the same person and personizing each other's accents.

01:40.112 --> 01:42.053
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and neither of them are good.

01:42.713 --> 01:44.874
[DEREK]: Yeah, so could you give us your best John there?

01:45.694 --> 01:46.434
[CHRIS]: Cold blood?

01:46.474 --> 01:47.615
[CHRIS]: No, way home.

01:47.635 --> 01:50.696
[CHRIS]: I was going to do the whole core of lying in the cockney.

01:51.016 --> 01:51.396
[DEREK]: Yeah.

01:51.696 --> 01:53.397
[DEREK]: He's he's a northern Englishman Chris.

01:54.917 --> 01:56.758
[DEREK]: If you don't know after 20 years of knowing him.

01:57.158 --> 02:05.281
[CHRIS]: No, I'm just trying to think of, I'm trying to put myself into Mr. Harrison and put myself into the mindset.

02:07.052 --> 02:07.913
[CHRIS]: Fine, there's a mush.

02:08.353 --> 02:08.574
[CHRIS]: Nope.

02:09.234 --> 02:09.415
[DEREK]: No.

02:09.555 --> 02:10.216
[DEREK]: That won't work.

02:10.396 --> 02:17.484
[DEREK]: Again, I think maybe what's happening here is that like Jordan, you are too distinct personalities sharing the same body and not the same accent.

02:17.504 --> 02:18.745
[DEREK]: So that's really what's happening.

02:19.408 --> 02:20.989
[CHRIS]: Wait, does that make you my husband, too?

02:21.469 --> 02:22.710
[CHRIS]: Well, I think you're my work.

02:22.790 --> 02:24.511
[CHRIS]: You were my work husband at one point?

02:24.752 --> 02:29.095
[DEREK]: Yes, but no, to distinct personalities, both of you are allowed to marry, who you choose to marry.

02:29.115 --> 02:29.795
[DEREK]: I don't care, too.

02:29.815 --> 02:31.816
[DEREK]: There you go.

02:31.836 --> 02:32.257
[DEREK]: Thank you.

02:32.297 --> 02:32.797
[DEREK]: That's the best.

02:33.037 --> 02:33.337
[DEREK]: It works.

02:33.457 --> 02:33.738
[DEREK]: It works.

02:34.098 --> 02:40.282
[DEREK]: But welcome back everybody to our chats all about Gen V. We've got a bit of feedback in for the last couple of episodes.

02:40.302 --> 02:46.706
[DEREK]: We're going to kick off the podcast with starting off with a voicemail in from one of our wonderful listeners, Jerome.

02:49.401 --> 02:54.703
[JEROME]: Derek, in this time Chris, I didn't forget you.

02:54.723 --> 02:58.384
[JEROME]: Hey, I've been watching you guys for so long.

02:58.824 --> 03:08.668
[JEROME]: I know maybe this is a repeated message for the, you guys are great and I listen to you guys every morning, all your stuff.

03:10.337 --> 03:14.340
[JEROME]: for years now, and I want to get more involved.

03:14.400 --> 03:19.783
[JEROME]: I'm not that tech savvy, but I wish I could get more involved.

03:19.803 --> 03:28.549
[JEROME]: I am a subscriber, so I'm not saying I was subscribed, but I just want to.

03:29.473 --> 03:32.575
[JEROME]: be able to interact a little more.

03:32.595 --> 03:37.898
[JEROME]: And hey, questions, are you going to be doing anything on the House of Guinness?

03:38.699 --> 03:39.759
[DEREK]: Thanks so much.

03:39.879 --> 03:43.362
[DEREK]: For the voicemail, it was so good to hear one of our wonderful listeners.

03:43.402 --> 03:48.765
[DEREK]: The great way to get in contact with this if you don't have the ability to email us in, or if you don't want to contact us to the Facebook group.

03:49.365 --> 03:51.747
[DEREK]: Go on after a website at TV podcast industries.com.

03:51.787 --> 03:54.088
[DEREK]: You record a quick 90 second clip.

03:54.108 --> 03:56.950
[DEREK]: And then we can hear your voice like you hear us all the time as well.

03:59.392 --> 04:00.913
[DEREK]: Are we going to cover House of Guinness?

04:02.194 --> 04:02.354
[CHRIS]: No.

04:02.615 --> 04:03.235
[DEREK]: No, you're not.

04:03.475 --> 04:04.096
[CHRIS]: No, you're not.

04:04.456 --> 04:09.821
[CHRIS]: We already have multiple variations of reasons being time.

04:10.362 --> 04:12.584
[DEREK]: We're also a bit behind on the stuff that we're covering anyway.

04:12.644 --> 04:13.484
[DEREK]: Oh, that's that too.

04:13.605 --> 04:17.188
[DEREK]: That House of Guinness is a Netflix show which all drops in the same day.

04:17.208 --> 04:19.550
[CHRIS]: Yeah, but also it doesn't look that good.

04:20.006 --> 04:35.680
[DEREK]: Yeah, well, I've seen a few exciting clips on a let's say that, but I think my favorite quote that I've seen from a review is that it's like steam punk Mr. Tato, so if you're Irish, you know, Tato is a national crisp, it's not a national chip if you're not Irish.

04:36.160 --> 04:45.068
[DEREK]: And so yeah, so apparently it's very Irish and not very accurate by any means it is supposedly very just

04:45.909 --> 04:57.761
[CHRIS]: Jamma for drama, but didly eye is layered on like a thick, crusty mess, a top, a pint of Guinness.

04:58.061 --> 04:58.862
[DEREK]: Yes, yes.

04:59.143 --> 05:00.604
[CHRIS]: That's been left out in the sun for too long.

05:00.624 --> 05:03.347
[DEREK]: So it wouldn't be in our wheel, I suppose.

05:03.507 --> 05:05.369
[DEREK]: But I wonder if you're enjoying it, let us know.

05:05.769 --> 05:06.110
[DEREK]: Add your own.

05:06.811 --> 05:16.582
[CHRIS]: Yeah, no, and if it is good, please come back and let us know, happy to always find shows that theoretically our outside of my wheelhouse and then I end up enjoying.

05:17.884 --> 05:22.389
[CHRIS]: There is a very fun procedural called high potential right now.

05:23.730 --> 05:25.292
[CHRIS]: That is just silly.

05:26.153 --> 05:44.550
[CHRIS]: procedural crime of the week come a comedy slash that is based on a French TV show it's on Disney Plus Hulu and that's stiff depending on where you are and yeah just outside my wheelhouse put very fun

05:44.830 --> 05:48.136
[DEREK]: This got D from, from, oh, we Sonia, and this is the main character, isn't it?

05:48.176 --> 05:48.477
[DEREK]: Yes.

05:48.737 --> 05:48.917
[DEREK]: Yes.

05:49.238 --> 05:53.165
[DEREK]: I kind of watch anything that she's in after 18 years of always Sonia.

05:53.365 --> 05:54.788
[DEREK]: So I will definitely check it out.

05:55.168 --> 05:55.449
[DEREK]: Excellent.

05:56.150 --> 05:57.473
[DEREK]: But absolutely great to hear from you, Jerome.

05:58.577 --> 06:02.941
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much Jerome, and please keep those voicemails coming and questions too.

06:03.261 --> 06:14.650
[DEREK]: And we also have a bit of feedback on the episodes so far of the boys from Keith Murray, he says, Hi Chris Derek and John, I'm loving Jan V season two and the mystery element that the episodes are starting to delve into.

06:14.970 --> 06:18.253
[DEREK]: I originally thought that the burned body in the chamber was stormfront from the boys.

06:18.573 --> 06:20.615
[DEREK]: I think she was in the chamber like that at some point.

06:20.955 --> 06:23.116
[DEREK]: But then I figured that this is Thomas Cadolkin.

06:23.416 --> 06:25.177
[DEREK]: He was burnt in that fire from the first episode.

06:25.397 --> 06:27.677
[DEREK]: He's been controlling the body of the Dean all season.

06:27.997 --> 06:30.158
[DEREK]: This explains Marina Sensing V in his blood.

06:30.358 --> 06:31.499
[DEREK]: It's a human meat puppet.

06:32.039 --> 06:36.260
[DEREK]: As to how he has been surviving so long, maybe he draws some life force from the people he controls.

06:36.580 --> 06:39.962
[DEREK]: Of course, this theory may be just proven in the next episode, but maybe not.

06:40.362 --> 06:42.803
[DEREK]: Thanks for all the work and the podcasts are great.

06:43.443 --> 06:43.643
[DEREK]: Keith.

06:43.983 --> 06:44.583
[CHRIS]: Thanks Keith.

06:44.904 --> 06:48.326
[CHRIS]: Yes, this is the prevailing theory.

06:48.406 --> 06:50.267
[CHRIS]: This is my personal theory too.

06:51.948 --> 06:56.331
[CHRIS]: Less the life force because I think there is just multiple meat puppets.

06:57.031 --> 07:07.658
[CHRIS]: And I think he's just living in a hyperbaric chamber and like bubble boy and fed with apple and stuff like that.

07:07.678 --> 07:08.259
[CHRIS]: So he's just

07:08.759 --> 07:25.840
[CHRIS]: see a lot of that this episode yeah yeah he is a hundred and something he has compound V in the system so we know he at least is slower aging like our friend soldier boy yes so definitely something to discuss more further in this episode as we get into it

07:26.160 --> 07:26.900
[DEREK]: Yeah, absolutely.

07:26.920 --> 07:28.301
[DEREK]: There's something that happened in this episode.

07:28.321 --> 07:32.202
[DEREK]: Did you probably talk about their mistakes that helped to prove your theory, I think?

07:32.782 --> 07:38.864
[DEREK]: And still not certain, as even by the end of the episode, as to exactly what's happening, Bush, I think you're pretty close on your theory.

07:39.445 --> 07:40.065
[DEREK]: Great stuff, Keith.

07:40.085 --> 07:40.465
[DEREK]: Thanks for that.

07:41.437 --> 07:42.899
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much Keith.

07:43.079 --> 07:57.834
[CHRIS]: Now, over on Spotify, Derek has to eat some humble pie as young Tray Lee had some feedback on our episode 3 podcast saying, of course it didn't matter now, but the memory pair would give her the pair, but not turn her into Jordan.

07:58.114 --> 07:58.995
[CHRIS]: She didn't turn her into Emma.

07:59.255 --> 07:59.996
[DEREK]: Very good points.

08:00.397 --> 08:17.436
[DEREK]: Yes Chris you may remember I ran away with myself a little bit back in episode three and had a theory at base and the character Harper who was revealed as a mimic that could mimic all the other supes powers and I was thinking oh maybe she mimicked Jordan and was the one that made the speech on stage and

08:18.337 --> 08:44.842
[DEREK]: and it will turn out in the next episode that Jordan hadn't made the speech at all and they were getting all the blame for it but actually know that was the massive set up before why they were going to have a big fight between Marie and Jordan and there was no mention at all of the member car per and exactly as young fairly points out here yeah there's no way that would have happened because the power isn't to turn into Jordan being able to turn into other Jordan's it would just turn her into a male version of herself out of female version of herself so

08:49.144 --> 08:50.905
[DEREK]: Good luck on your trailer, but thanks for pointing that out.

08:51.206 --> 09:03.316
[DEREK]: I don't mind getting corrected on those Those silly theories that I have at some time put up it was it was a fun theory to well elastic Which was about three and a half seconds until I thought about it after the podcast So quickly.

09:03.396 --> 09:11.803
[DEREK]: Oh, can you imagine how it happens Chris when I'm sitting down editing the podcast after it after we've recorded it And I'm going why did we say something like that

09:12.503 --> 09:15.184
[CHRIS]: It's hard, that's probably happened way more than we would like to invest.

09:15.724 --> 09:16.705
[DEREK]: Yes, many, many times.

09:16.765 --> 09:20.246
[DEREK]: I hardly ever edit the mouse to make me look better, I promise.

09:20.666 --> 09:21.046
[CHRIS]: Hardly.

09:23.647 --> 09:24.168
[DEREK]: Great stuff.

09:24.208 --> 09:26.649
[DEREK]: Let's get it into the podcast on this week's episode.

09:26.689 --> 09:29.510
[DEREK]: And thanks once again for the feedback over on over at Spotify.

09:29.710 --> 09:31.271
[DEREK]: The voicemail feedback and email feedback.

09:31.871 --> 09:34.892
[DEREK]: All ways you can get in contact with us if you want to get in contact with us a bit.

09:34.932 --> 09:39.194
[DEREK]: Gen V, you can email us to the feedback as tvpodcastindustries.com.

09:40.194 --> 09:55.687
[DEREK]: email the rest he can pop out our Facebook group at facebook.com-groupsashtv.cast industries or you can leave a comment over on Spotify, ask us at any of the episodes on Spotify it's kind of a cool way to get in contact with this while you're listening to our terrible theories at pointing out when the rum as well.

09:56.708 --> 10:00.031
[DEREK]: And just a reminder, we are continuing our GenV pub quiz later on the episode.

10:00.271 --> 10:10.559
[DEREK]: We will reveal our next question and at the end of the season, just gather together all eight answers to the questions and email us to that email address and you can be in the chance of getting your hands on some GenV goodies.

10:11.300 --> 10:23.170
[CHRIS]: Yes, but I think by the time we get into our discussions, but first, as always, I will ask Derek, can you tell us who gave us what we're when and how with the episode details?

10:23.602 --> 10:50.132
[DEREK]: Yes, this show, of course, is developed by Craig Rosenberg and Evan Goldberg, with Eric Krippky, based on the comic series by Garth, Ennis and Derek Robertson, and Executive Producer on the show, R, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, this episode was directed by Karen Gaviela who directed two episodes of Season 4 of the Boys, and the episode was written by Lauren Greer, and Lauren was an executive story editor back in Season 1 of Gen V, and also was one of the contributing writers to Jumanji, the sixth episode.

10:50.612 --> 10:53.796
[DEREK]: of season one, not the movie, or any of those.

10:55.257 --> 10:56.338
[CHRIS]: I was like, ooh.

10:59.081 --> 11:00.783
[DEREK]: No, the sixth episode of season one, Chris.

11:01.403 --> 11:01.524
[DEREK]: Okay.

11:01.824 --> 11:02.745
[DEREK]: That was still good one too.

11:02.985 --> 11:03.546
[DEREK]: It certainly was.

11:03.606 --> 11:04.126
[DEREK]: It certainly was.

11:04.607 --> 11:11.674
[DEREK]: I'd Chris, in John's absence, do you want to give us the synopsis for gen V season two, up to five, the kids are not all right.

11:13.153 --> 11:14.314
[CHRIS]: Crikey, sure.

11:14.774 --> 11:16.595
[CHRIS]: No, Crikey.

11:16.635 --> 11:20.337
[CHRIS]: We're going to even bin to Australia.

11:20.737 --> 11:22.478
[CHRIS]: We're going to, we're, this is what we're sticking with.

11:23.138 --> 11:24.459
[CHRIS]: John is now Australian.

11:24.939 --> 11:25.099
[DEREK]: Okay.

11:26.140 --> 11:32.583
[CHRIS]: One month ago Dean Cypher was looking after his father when Sister Sage arrived to give him a housewarming gift.

11:33.163 --> 11:39.627
[CHRIS]: She playfully slapped Cypher and then they had sex in the bathroom as the Dean's incapacitated father watches on.

11:40.507 --> 11:53.578
[CHRIS]: after using her expanded power set to beat Jordan on safe space's battle, Cypher forces Marie to continue training by threatening to take her and her friends back to Almyra with Kate, who he hasn't had in prison.

11:54.519 --> 12:00.084
[CHRIS]: Knowing how terrifying the detention center is, Marie convinces Jordan and Emma to rescue Kate.

12:00.804 --> 12:05.765
[CHRIS]: and they scared their gun to get captured without a very strong supe on their side.

12:06.206 --> 12:09.727
[CHRIS]: She tries to recruit Sam to join them, but he refuses.

12:10.307 --> 12:14.588
[CHRIS]: Since he is returned to his childhood home trying to make a men's with his strange parents.

12:15.608 --> 12:22.090
[CHRIS]: Sam's trip home's full of revelations, he had always believed the compound fee inside his body is what broke his brain.

12:22.430 --> 12:26.031
[CHRIS]: But learns from his mother at that, they handed him over to the

12:29.252 --> 12:33.574
[CHRIS]: when he was a child due to what his mother believes is a raging mental instability.

12:34.715 --> 12:43.660
[CHRIS]: Meanwhile, at the attempted prison break, where he Jordan Emma entered Amira, but are instantly captured in place in cells inside the facility.

12:45.281 --> 12:55.467
[CHRIS]: Back at Gaudolkin, plarity confronts Cypher about the death of his son Andre, the dean on the bashty tells him that he died when Cypher tried to enhance his powers.

12:57.042 --> 13:04.404
[CHRIS]: At home, following the revelations, polarity suffers a serious and severe seizure of false to the ground.

13:06.005 --> 13:21.849
[CHRIS]: To try and persuade Marie to finally give into his training, Cypher Showser that he is holding her strange sister Anabeth, working together with Kate the group escapes their cells, but when they reach Anabeth cell, they find her dead.

13:24.076 --> 13:30.417
[CHRIS]: in her grief, Marie's power has developed further, successfully manipulating Annabeth cells and blood to a viber.

13:33.018 --> 13:41.060
[DEREK]: Good correction, they're Chris on the synopsis, because it's so difficult when they're in cells in a prison under dealing with cells and blood as well.

13:41.120 --> 13:42.440
[DEREK]: Yes, well done, thanks for that.

13:43.360 --> 13:44.740
[DEREK]: But yeah, what a moment.

13:44.780 --> 13:49.822
[DEREK]: We've got the resurrection powers of Marie on display in this episode.

13:50.442 --> 13:51.602
[CHRIS]: She's a century Lazarus.

13:52.283 --> 13:58.666
[DEREK]: Well, she's essentially Jesus, Lazarus was the resurrected one, Chris, so Anabeth is Lazarus, yes.

13:59.406 --> 14:00.366
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

14:00.406 --> 14:00.826
[DEREK]: Yeah.

14:00.866 --> 14:03.828
[CHRIS]: She's going to turn her blood into wine very soon, then.

14:04.568 --> 14:05.128
[DEREK]: Ah, yes.

14:05.208 --> 14:05.468
[DEREK]: Yeah.

14:05.688 --> 14:07.409
[DEREK]: I think that's how the miracle sparks in the Bible.

14:07.429 --> 14:08.809
[DEREK]: I've been a while since I've read it.

14:10.931 --> 14:20.359
[DEREK]: We just know that we just know the ones that we like being able to walk on water, so you can cross that lake really quickly to get home after getting drunk on all the water you've turned into wine and all the important miracles.

14:21.460 --> 14:21.880
[DEREK]: Great stuff.

14:21.920 --> 14:27.505
[DEREK]: Well, I think it's time to get into our chat at about the points that's today to us in this episode.

14:32.245 --> 14:43.757
[DEREK]: As usual, we talk about our minor moments, the freshman moment that one that stood out to us and maybe may never get out of our heads, we talk about our sophomore moment, the medium moment from the episode, and the major moment in the episode.

14:44.077 --> 14:47.701
[DEREK]: And Chris, do you want to start with your freshman moment for the episode?

14:48.208 --> 15:06.514
[CHRIS]: Sure, it's a quick one, but it is one that's going to stick with me, which is essentially case getting put into Elmira and the fragility of the character, and again, the actress herself is just really portraying it well.

15:06.798 --> 15:08.338
[DEREK]: Yeah, it maybe helps us grow, isn't it, yeah?

15:08.578 --> 15:33.885
[CHRIS]: Yeah, as a strip-searcher, they remove her wig, they remove her arm and again, even just the invasive cavity search I'm assuming is the best way of putting it, and then they get a dress, but like they won't even give her some privacy to turn around, I understand this is what happens in jails.

15:34.045 --> 15:34.565
[DEREK]: Absolutely.

15:36.034 --> 15:37.134
[CHRIS]: and that is what.

15:37.674 --> 15:44.016
[CHRIS]: One of the things the boys is good at which is sometimes shining a light on society and things like that.

15:44.956 --> 15:45.916
[CHRIS]: And see this is what we see.

15:46.276 --> 15:51.497
[CHRIS]: The character of case tries to use their powers goes very badly.

15:52.938 --> 15:54.978
[CHRIS]: That security guard is never going to have kids.

15:56.259 --> 15:57.939
[CHRIS]: That is a serious shock to the

15:58.579 --> 15:59.199
[DEREK]: It certainly is.

15:59.419 --> 15:59.679
[DEREK]: Yeah.

15:59.699 --> 16:00.260
[DEREK]: It certainly is.

16:00.340 --> 16:01.200
[DEREK]: Wow.

16:01.620 --> 16:19.565
[DEREK]: I don't know whether I'd rather be controlled by case when she had control of her powers or now because it seems like when it happens to someone you can control by her powers now is way worse than it was when she controlled you and you just didn't know what you were doing and you just felt compelled to do what she told you to do.

16:20.305 --> 16:27.731
[DEREK]: Um, now you'll end off having sex with a gnome or, um, frying your own jammables with, uh, was an electric rod like that.

16:27.751 --> 16:27.851
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

16:27.871 --> 16:30.793
[DEREK]: No, no, really isn't good.

16:31.414 --> 16:38.419
[DEREK]: Oh, and then the guy later on, stuff's the, uh, the keys into his own eyeball, um, when she asks for the keys.

16:38.559 --> 16:40.541
[DEREK]: So yeah, it's, it's like,

16:41.513 --> 16:49.617
[DEREK]: when she tries to push someone now, she pushes them over the edge into her horrific territory, really.

16:49.757 --> 16:55.480
[CHRIS]: I think it's just the chaos of randomness of her parish like control.

16:55.540 --> 17:00.443
[CHRIS]: It's like, she said, grab your keys, pull them in the and let me out.

17:00.583 --> 17:00.783
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

17:01.503 --> 17:04.185
[CHRIS]: And grabbing your keys and letting me out

17:06.708 --> 17:08.089
[CHRIS]: not putting the keys in the lock.

17:08.749 --> 17:09.930
[CHRIS]: It's putting them in your eye.

17:10.310 --> 17:10.711
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

17:11.331 --> 17:12.572
[CHRIS]: He's socket, eyes socket.

17:13.012 --> 17:13.613
[CHRIS]: It's close.

17:13.813 --> 17:14.293
[DEREK]: I don't know.

17:14.333 --> 17:14.613
[DEREK]: It does.

17:14.853 --> 17:15.134
[DEREK]: It does.

17:15.174 --> 17:15.554
[DEREK]: It does.

17:15.594 --> 17:15.834
[DEREK]: It does.

17:16.294 --> 17:16.615
[DEREK]: It does.

17:21.938 --> 17:22.338
[CHRIS]: Genvy.

17:22.739 --> 17:35.128
[DEREK]: Yeah, I think also, as you say, a body Phillips plays such a the role so well here, and she's been in such a privilege position in God you You know that she doesn't really realize that she's in a prison here.

17:35.188 --> 17:40.712
[DEREK]: She thinks that Dean sent her into Detentional most, but it is a detention center as opposed to actual detention.

17:40.752 --> 17:44.675
[DEREK]: So when she's told to strip and have a strip search She's kind of going as you say.

17:44.715 --> 17:49.038
[DEREK]: She's asked she's asking for privacy and you don't get privacy when you're being stripped

17:51.660 --> 17:53.141
[DEREK]: kind of defeat the whole purpose of it.

17:53.202 --> 17:56.825
[DEREK]: So she doesn't she just doesn't realize the situation that she's actually in here.

17:57.846 --> 18:10.918
[DEREK]: And I love that that is talked to base in the conversation between Marie and Jordan and Emma that they're all very strong people, they're all very strong characters but every bit of that fell away when they went to this place.

18:10.978 --> 18:13.740
[DEREK]: So Kate's about to have that experience, basically.

18:13.780 --> 18:14.181
[DEREK]: So yeah.

18:14.499 --> 18:16.620
[CHRIS]: Jordan cried themselves to sleep every night.

18:16.840 --> 18:17.260
[DEREK]: Exactly.

18:17.440 --> 18:17.981
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

18:18.081 --> 18:18.501
[CHRIS]: Definitely.

18:18.621 --> 18:19.161
[CHRIS]: What about yourself?

18:19.201 --> 18:21.562
[CHRIS]: What's your freshman moment for this episode?

18:22.043 --> 18:25.865
[DEREK]: I think the one for me that I'm going to talk about is the revelation about Andre.

18:26.585 --> 18:36.690
[DEREK]: Conversation between Dean and Polarity, Dean Cypher and Polarity, over dinner, I guess, sort of, where once again Dean Cypher is

18:37.330 --> 18:41.475
[DEREK]: surprisingly candid to base how everything has happened.

18:41.695 --> 18:43.537
[DEREK]: He knows everything that's going on.

18:43.597 --> 18:45.979
[DEREK]: He knows that Polarity has been investigating.

18:46.019 --> 18:48.362
[DEREK]: I mean, he's been talking to everybody in the school.

18:49.043 --> 18:56.090
[DEREK]: Everybody that he can get his hands on to find out more and more information about what the Dean is doing, his investigation is not a private investigation.

18:56.531 --> 18:57.732
[DEREK]: Polarity might think he's having.

18:58.272 --> 19:01.515
[DEREK]: And he knows he wants to ask it out what happened to Andre.

19:02.195 --> 19:20.751
[DEREK]: We've heard previously throughout the rest of the episodes that Andre was trying to escape from Almyra, trying to save everybody, and they have told us the other characters have told us that him trying to keep the doors open for too long led to him effectively dying from pushing his parents too far.

19:22.671 --> 19:35.406
[DEREK]: Dean Cypher here says no was an experiment conducted by me, I pushed him too far and his body wasn't able to take the pushing that I was doing to him and he died because of that sad, but that's the experiment, basically.

19:37.010 --> 19:53.140
[DEREK]: then he does the thing that is definitely going to stay in my head after this episode where he stabs himself in his own hand, then stabs Polarity's meat which he's just ordered for his lunch and leaves the room saying, now you've got the information that you want basically.

19:53.200 --> 20:00.004
[DEREK]: So it's another odd moment for Dean Saifran, it's another moment where you question whether this

20:00.925 --> 20:13.109
[DEREK]: person is the person that's actually talking or is as our feedback said, and as you mentioned earlier on, is Dean Cypher just a shallow of a person being controlled by someone externally.

20:14.509 --> 20:14.649
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

20:14.889 --> 20:16.790
[DEREK]: That guy's going to be speculated at Tom Scadalken, you know?

20:17.130 --> 20:17.550
[CHRIS]: Exactly.

20:17.770 --> 20:18.210
[CHRIS]: Me puppet.

20:18.570 --> 20:18.710
[DEREK]: Yeah.

20:18.730 --> 20:22.712
[CHRIS]: Actually, and that's what he, me puppet, he's just thinking about it in life.

20:23.472 --> 20:23.852
[CHRIS]: No, and that

20:28.517 --> 20:35.383
[CHRIS]: That line that he gave to Polarity was just a way to almost enraged in size.

20:36.684 --> 20:46.353
[CHRIS]: Polarity, to do something, but we learn later that is backed up by a character when they're back in Elmira, that's.

20:48.338 --> 20:54.588
[CHRIS]: The wording they use, and we'll talk about it later, it's just very much, you know, they keep pushes all of them there.

20:54.908 --> 20:55.088
[DEREK]: Yeah.

20:55.289 --> 21:02.700
[CHRIS]: Anyone who's in Elmyra is an experiment to him, and it's controlled experiment, whereas in Godalkin University

21:03.941 --> 21:04.321
[CHRIS]: They're not.

21:04.942 --> 21:06.263
[CHRIS]: Yeah, there's less control.

21:06.863 --> 21:07.003
[DEREK]: Yeah.

21:07.143 --> 21:07.283
[DEREK]: Yeah.

21:07.303 --> 21:09.425
[DEREK]: Well, they can walk out of the room and come back later.

21:09.445 --> 21:14.368
[DEREK]: If you're in the prison, you have full control over the man that is an experimental prison.

21:14.388 --> 21:20.252
[DEREK]: I've actually very similar to what we saw underneath God you last season with Dean Chattion, what she was doing.

21:20.292 --> 21:25.576
[DEREK]: So, regardless of what the protestations, I guess, from Dean Cypher about him being a better, um,

21:26.556 --> 21:32.500
[DEREK]: about her super Dean, then Chatty was, because Chatty was trying to create a weapon to kill them all.

21:32.721 --> 21:36.083
[DEREK]: He's trying to create a weapon to potentially kill all humans or do something.

21:36.123 --> 21:42.667
[DEREK]: We don't know what his outcome is, but he's doing something very similar to what Chatty was doing, experimenting on the teams that are going to God.

21:43.528 --> 21:46.249
[DEREK]: Yeah, but yeah, that is my moment that sticks out.

21:46.269 --> 21:57.372
[DEREK]: I'm not sure whether I'm gonna eat a steak this weekend I do like bloody steak, but not when human blood is mixed in with it through the knife Yeah, why couldn't they just stop a piece of the veg or something?

21:57.392 --> 21:58.252
[CHRIS]: And it was white goo.

21:58.553 --> 21:59.873
[CHRIS]: I know white goo poof as well

22:00.513 --> 22:15.769
[DEREK]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

22:22.604 --> 22:25.325
[CHRIS]: I do want to talk about this sister sage.

22:25.705 --> 22:25.926
[DEREK]: Yes.

22:26.186 --> 22:26.866
[CHRIS]: Yes.

22:27.046 --> 22:27.506
[CHRIS]: This is an only.

22:27.586 --> 22:28.887
[DEREK]: Have you ever from this episode?

22:29.087 --> 22:29.387
[CHRIS]: Yes.

22:30.548 --> 22:32.348
[CHRIS]: I was not expecting sister sage.

22:32.708 --> 22:32.949
[DEREK]: No.

22:33.229 --> 22:39.231
[CHRIS]: They had told us in marketing that there was going to be characters crossing over.

22:39.551 --> 22:39.751
[CHRIS]: Yes.

22:39.791 --> 22:41.212
[CHRIS]: From the boys back and forth.

22:41.992 --> 22:43.453
[CHRIS]: From the boys universe, I should say.

22:43.493 --> 22:49.276
[CHRIS]: So, the boys proper and Gen B, we've seen Kate and...

22:51.313 --> 23:18.503
[CHRIS]: We had seen Kate and Sam cross over at the end of the boys last season and we had heard that all the characters will be crossing over vice versa and we seen Starlight already I was I was assuming home lander would pop in again at some point sister stage was a unique choice for me in the sense when you start to think about it but sister stage and then the having her

23:21.020 --> 23:26.361
[CHRIS]: King Kancho is an interesting turnover advance.

23:26.961 --> 23:32.562
[CHRIS]: So this does very much open till this point I had just start to think that.

23:33.383 --> 23:44.105
[CHRIS]: So Cypher was Cypher and Gudolkin maybe the son of Gudolkin who had been implanted with V and things like that.

23:46.000 --> 24:04.552
[CHRIS]: the terminology of me puppets, the scene in the bathroom where Cypher is cleaning goodalkin's body, the sage comes in, they have a conversation, sage and Cypher have sex in very cooking goodalkin.

24:06.894 --> 24:13.998
[CHRIS]: It's only to the point where she covers Cypher's face and looks at goodalkin and goodalkin looks back

24:16.206 --> 24:35.310
[CHRIS]: Oh, oh, okay, we knew that from the very first episode that Kudolkin and the others of the Project Odessa, Jack themselves with a variation form of compound V. Now Kudolkin, we're not 100% on.

24:35.570 --> 24:36.370
[DEREK]: Yes, exactly.

24:36.690 --> 24:38.091
[DEREK]: He tries to stop all the rest of them.

24:38.491 --> 24:39.231
[DEREK]: They all die.

24:39.531 --> 24:39.691
[DEREK]: Yes.

24:39.731 --> 24:41.291
[DEREK]: He doesn't reach the alarm and time.

24:41.932 --> 24:43.552
[DEREK]: We think this is his birth to a body, yes.

24:43.832 --> 24:44.032
[CHRIS]: Yes.

24:45.653 --> 25:00.018
[CHRIS]: So what we can, I can make some assumptions is that essentially he, because he will burn to a crisp, some form of compound v got in him, somehow he jacked himself, because he was going to die or whatever.

25:00.478 --> 25:08.881
[CHRIS]: And essentially he has the power to essentially control puppets of people like puppets.

25:09.582 --> 25:10.482
[CHRIS]: That is his power.

25:11.065 --> 25:22.751
[DEREK]: Yeah, because it does feel like in that sex scene with Sister Sage, that she's the reason why she's covering Cypher's eyes is that she's making eye contact with the person that she's having sex with, which is the body and the bath of actors.

25:23.031 --> 25:23.331
[DEREK]: Exactly.

25:23.351 --> 25:25.853
[DEREK]: That she's not having sex with the body that she's on top of.

25:25.933 --> 25:27.333
[DEREK]: She's having sex with the guy and the bath.

25:27.394 --> 25:29.094
[DEREK]: So she's making eye contact.

25:29.154 --> 25:33.937
[DEREK]: It's interesting and messed up jet-v-way of thinking, but yeah.

25:34.217 --> 25:43.742
[CHRIS]: Yeah, but then it starts to actually connect and you're like, oh, okay, Cypher's a Cypher is a way of decoding something.

25:44.563 --> 25:59.471
[CHRIS]: So essentially, Dean Cypher is essentially a meat puppet and the way of the power of Gaudolkin that he gets is the power to decode

26:00.211 --> 26:02.295
[CHRIS]: and control and read someone.

26:02.735 --> 26:04.058
[CHRIS]: Yeah, that type of approach.

26:04.118 --> 26:07.623
[CHRIS]: So that was just like, okay, this is a really interesting way.

26:08.785 --> 26:13.152
[CHRIS]: And it all stems from as you said, it's the most boys way of telling us that

26:14.643 --> 26:32.004
[CHRIS]: because sage and him have sex and do it do the nasty in a way that I'm like oh right yeah you give us all the points now it's just an interesting very much and just an interesting boys moment

26:32.204 --> 26:52.488
[DEREK]: Absolutely, and I think, you know, the fact that it is sister stage here, not any of the other characters, within the boys universe, it says a lot, because what we've heard so far is that Marie could potentially be the most powerful of the supes, more powerful than homelander, and what we know for an absolute fact, from how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard about it, how we've heard

26:52.568 --> 26:57.592
[DEREK]: how sister sage acted in season four of the boys is that she is not going against homelander.

26:58.012 --> 27:01.315
[DEREK]: She is doing everything she can to keep homelander in the parlor that he is.

27:01.775 --> 27:03.977
[DEREK]: She told him, trust me, I will get you there.

27:04.037 --> 27:08.380
[DEREK]: It may not look like I am, but I am working for you and working with you because it's fun.

27:08.740 --> 27:14.024
[DEREK]: It's the most challenging thing in the world to give someone like homelander in parlor and she's enjoying that challenge.

27:14.064 --> 27:16.086
[DEREK]: So that's the really interesting part.

27:16.106 --> 27:17.507
[DEREK]: I think we're hearing it again here that

27:18.367 --> 27:31.471
[DEREK]: Sister Sage is there the CEO of Alsh as well, so she has taken over that position there And so she's she's got in that prime position by doing everything that she did in season four or two Get home lander into the leadership position that he's in there.

27:31.911 --> 27:40.333
[DEREK]: So, um, yeah I would I would suggest that the fact that she's here does change that conversation that we've heard that Marine may not be

27:41.033 --> 27:50.338
[DEREK]: more powerful than homeland or may not be being set up to be so nander that there's another plan in there with sage because she's always got four five six steps ahead, right?

27:51.098 --> 27:51.699
[CHRIS]: You should do it.

27:51.739 --> 27:56.801
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and we'll discuss Marie later kind of reservoir kind of seeing your moments.

27:57.142 --> 27:57.762
[CHRIS]: Absolutely.

27:57.782 --> 28:01.004
[CHRIS]: But yeah, that's that's that's my medium-suffer moment.

28:01.044 --> 28:01.564
[CHRIS]: What have you chosen?

28:01.964 --> 28:05.285
[DEREK]: Excellent, I want to talk about Sam, because we missed a Blastriek when he wasn't there.

28:05.785 --> 28:09.146
[DEREK]: He was quite a central character in season one, and I don't think he missed an episode.

28:09.487 --> 28:15.709
[DEREK]: Maybe one episode he wasn't in in season one, and he missed last week's episode, because it was much more focused on the battle between Jordan and Marie.

28:15.749 --> 28:22.211
[DEREK]: So, that is that a little previously on-moment at the beginning of the episode where he was sitting down with Jordan and Jordan said to him, why don't you go home and visit your family?

28:22.271 --> 28:23.791
[DEREK]: And he said his family hates him.

28:24.492 --> 28:28.133
[DEREK]: But he's decided to go and see his mom and his dad back at home.

28:28.913 --> 28:33.756
[DEREK]: And I really liked this because it does put into context as if I was the whole story of what's happened to Sam.

28:34.076 --> 28:39.859
[DEREK]: And I really liked that there's this relationship between his parents that effectively they thought he was dead.

28:39.979 --> 28:42.620
[DEREK]: When Valt took him away, they had a funeral for him.

28:42.640 --> 28:52.666
[DEREK]: You know, father describing that his mom didn't talk for an entire year after they learned that he was dead because she was unable to process what had happened.

28:53.587 --> 29:02.955
[DEREK]: And then they lost Luke, his brother, he was the character played by Patrick Swerker's searchmaker in the first season, a catalyst for the entire series kicking off.

29:02.975 --> 29:09.501
[DEREK]: Yeah, golden boy, he was called back in Episode 1, but they lost both sons, and then he turns up in their heads.

29:10.201 --> 29:10.322
[DEREK]: Yeah.

29:11.095 --> 29:28.795
[DEREK]: unexpectedly now they do know he's alive there is that there is a line about that that uh that their father of course some on tv with all the antics that went on last season but can you imagine what that most of them like for them they lose their they lose their eldest son and then suddenly on tv they see their youngest son who they thought was dead five six seven years ago um

29:30.136 --> 29:31.318
[DEREK]: and now he's back in their house.

29:32.219 --> 29:38.066
[DEREK]: It's just really interesting because it's so tentative, Sam is that character that can just break off at any moment.

29:38.086 --> 29:43.133
[DEREK]: He can go in any direction whatever way he takes a comment from either of them.

29:43.513 --> 29:48.340
[DEREK]: As a moment where it's a really heartfelt moment where he's reconnecting with his dad in his room.

29:48.940 --> 30:06.610
[DEREK]: And he tells his dad to measure him against the wall and they got a hug between the two of them and then he sees his mom at the window on the phone And instantly thinks she's calling vault so runs outside to confront her about it and then knocks his dad over by accident Could have easily killed him could have easily hurt him very seriously.

30:07.271 --> 30:08.411
[DEREK]: We hear later that he didn't

30:09.872 --> 30:17.856
[DEREK]: But yeah, it's just a really volatile situation, and hearing more about what happened to Sam when I'm, and how his parents have been affected by this whole thing, it was really interesting.

30:18.297 --> 30:24.120
[DEREK]: And the big revelation that comes out of this, Sam has always blamed V for what happened to him.

30:24.220 --> 30:29.022
[DEREK]: He's always blamed the campaign V, and what V did to him for the type of person he is.

30:29.082 --> 30:29.783
[DEREK]: The fact that he sees

30:30.303 --> 30:55.897
[DEREK]: Crazy Puppet so when he's thinking he's interacting with the world around him everything's talking to two of them in Puppet style And it turns out that actually is something that could be hereditary or at least within the family his mom described still and that's he had an uncle who at who when he was young Took a gun and he walked into a petrol station and opened fire, so She didn't want that to happen to someone like Sam who had a very similar

30:57.158 --> 31:00.541
[DEREK]: pre-existing condition, so she thought was the answer to that.

31:00.602 --> 31:04.726
[DEREK]: She thought playing in full account BNV might be the way to control them.

31:05.327 --> 31:08.911
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and her messed up genes as she says.

31:09.171 --> 31:11.914
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah, and she takes the blame for it.

31:11.934 --> 31:12.054
[DEREK]: Yeah.

31:12.234 --> 31:13.175
[DEREK]: Yeah, her three regions.

31:13.276 --> 31:13.436
[DEREK]: Yeah.

31:14.598 --> 31:31.867
[CHRIS]: this is a huge, this whole thing, this, it does go through an arc as a mini story in that you think something's up, you think there's an issue, you do think she might be on to Voss, you do then learn that, they went to

31:32.707 --> 31:37.611
[CHRIS]: Kudolkin to see some and we're told by brought Sam to not want to see them.

31:37.991 --> 31:41.595
[CHRIS]: So they that's well again why additional contact was not made.

31:41.615 --> 31:42.075
[DEREK]: Yeah.

31:42.756 --> 31:48.861
[CHRIS]: He gets then to this point of it some deep mental issues, genetic.

31:50.382 --> 31:53.565
[CHRIS]: And you're like, wow, this is an interesting trick.

31:53.605 --> 31:56.207
[CHRIS]: Where yeah, they her brother.

31:57.580 --> 32:01.462
[CHRIS]: was already an issue and had problems.

32:01.842 --> 32:08.664
[CHRIS]: And was, I mean, no, was he taking out by the cops or taking down by the cops?

32:08.945 --> 32:11.125
[CHRIS]: Taking, she says he was taking down by the cops.

32:11.185 --> 32:11.766
[CHRIS]: I wasn't sure.

32:11.786 --> 32:14.267
[CHRIS]: I had that meant that the cops then killed.

32:14.767 --> 32:15.127
[DEREK]: Right.

32:15.207 --> 32:15.507
[DEREK]: Yeah.

32:15.527 --> 32:20.009
[CHRIS]: Brother or I took him arrested him, but there's a variation on that.

32:20.229 --> 32:20.969
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

32:21.369 --> 32:21.710
[CHRIS]: It's good.

32:21.810 --> 32:22.110
[CHRIS]: I think it.

32:23.503 --> 32:25.524
[CHRIS]: We're led to believe, be there.

32:25.904 --> 32:35.086
[DEREK]: I think it depends on how long the series goes on whether they need an uncle character that's similar to Sam that connect with or whether they're going to end at this season and not have to have the uncle character commit.

32:35.126 --> 32:38.187
[DEREK]: But yeah, they've left there, take it down or take an ice.

32:38.207 --> 32:48.750
[DEREK]: Taken out would probably be he was killed, taken down is probably he's been put in a facility somewhere for Sam to meet him at some later stage if we need to have that character on the table.

32:49.650 --> 32:50.050
[CHRIS]: Exactly.

32:50.630 --> 33:13.697
[CHRIS]: And I think it then gets into the, the, yeah, genes and her gene thought that the vault on company would potentially solve the issue where actually it compounds the issue literally because when you have to give someone with those mental characteristics.

33:15.377 --> 33:20.299
[CHRIS]: Super strength and vulnerability the power of flight and other stuff.

33:20.739 --> 33:25.841
[CHRIS]: Yeah, it gets weird It gets absolutely again, and it does certainly be this character.

33:26.042 --> 33:39.167
[CHRIS]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, and like we see we see just the accidental Issue where we see some I don't want to say the last you say, but it is essentially he lashes out of his dad Yes, his dad just tries to calm him and

33:40.676 --> 33:41.577
[CHRIS]: I hear a crack.

33:41.597 --> 33:44.119
[CHRIS]: It was a nice whack.

33:44.819 --> 33:51.525
[CHRIS]: So I was like, well, that dad might have some broken ribs, or at least sprained ribs after that point.

33:52.245 --> 33:57.650
[CHRIS]: I think that's just an interesting, it's an interesting pickle that they've kind of thrown onto this.

33:58.010 --> 34:01.513
[DEREK]: Absolutely, absolutely, and your rice, there was a moment where I was kind of going,

34:02.415 --> 34:07.158
[DEREK]: And the reason is mom's the only one coming to him and yeah, yeah, you're that fine.

34:07.178 --> 34:08.138
[DEREK]: He's no problem at all.

34:08.198 --> 34:09.479
[DEREK]: He's just resting up inside.

34:09.499 --> 34:10.379
[DEREK]: I'm just going, oh no.

34:10.419 --> 34:11.560
[DEREK]: I don't know what that is.

34:11.940 --> 34:15.122
[DEREK]: I'm still unsure whether she was making that cold to vote or not.

34:16.062 --> 34:20.264
[DEREK]: That Sam catches threat to it at the window and confront surveys.

34:20.585 --> 34:24.146
[DEREK]: I like that they've kept it that we're seeing a lot of this through Sam's eyes.

34:24.186 --> 34:26.248
[DEREK]: So we're seeing how he's reacting to things.

34:27.308 --> 34:34.515
[DEREK]: And it's, you know, it's still a possibility that she's not on the level that she's lying to, and that, you know, she's working for a vote in some way.

34:34.595 --> 34:36.356
[DEREK]: That's still entirely a possibility.

34:36.416 --> 34:38.978
[DEREK]: So I love that they keep those possibilities in the table.

34:38.998 --> 34:44.844
[DEREK]: There's no flashback to the moment that the original thing happened and had them all crying, giving them up to vote.

34:45.524 --> 34:46.045
[DEREK]: to correct it.

34:46.085 --> 34:47.867
[DEREK]: It's all in dialogue.

34:48.188 --> 34:50.791
[DEREK]: The father's kept off screen after Sam knocks him over.

34:50.851 --> 34:58.842
[DEREK]: So yeah, all these things could again be possibly twisted to control Sam again because they do want Sam to be on their side again, right?

34:58.882 --> 35:00.024
[DEREK]: They want to keep him.

35:00.784 --> 35:04.548
[DEREK]: as this massively powerful character that's working for Valt, right?

35:05.068 --> 35:07.010
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and he is pretty invulnerable.

35:07.190 --> 35:18.380
[CHRIS]: Like we learned that from the garden in season one where a lot of the tests on on him by his blood and the cells and so showed how impractable.

35:19.280 --> 35:20.460
[CHRIS]: His biology is.

35:20.580 --> 35:23.561
[CHRIS]: Yeah, but yeah, could be wanting him back going.

35:23.601 --> 35:25.382
[CHRIS]: Yeah, no, um, can we please?

35:25.402 --> 35:29.202
[DEREK]: Yeah, can I thank you send the back to the sleeper agents that we call it as parents?

35:29.603 --> 35:31.443
[DEREK]: Yes, that's that's his home address.

35:31.483 --> 35:31.883
[DEREK]: Yes, sure.

35:33.223 --> 35:44.526
[DEREK]: But I also I also thought when he landed outside his parents house and you see the the concrete crack underneath his feet as he lands from his from his flight there I was reminded of home lander.

35:45.046 --> 35:47.267
[DEREK]: Yeah, for the first time with Sam specifically.

35:47.307 --> 35:47.927
[DEREK]: It's like as if

35:48.727 --> 35:56.852
[DEREK]: he is that unhinged power is similar to homeowner doesn't really care about the concrete outside so it's not delicately landing outside like Superman would.

35:57.252 --> 36:00.534
[DEREK]: He's landing with a real forceful power like homeowner would to make a statement.

36:00.894 --> 36:08.038
[DEREK]: So wondering what's going to happen to Sam but really cool to have this kind of side story with him and him down there with his parents.

36:08.318 --> 36:14.861
[DEREK]: And also, interestingly, he turned down the offer to go and save Kate, along with Emma and Jordan and Marie.

36:15.361 --> 36:18.243
[DEREK]: Emma called him up and he said, no, because he's down here doing this.

36:18.463 --> 36:22.285
[DEREK]: And because Kate messed with him as well, he's not really a friend of hers.

36:23.005 --> 36:24.666
[DEREK]: She was just pushing him.

36:25.306 --> 36:30.030
[DEREK]: to do what she said effectively and calming him using her powers.

36:30.090 --> 36:35.014
[DEREK]: So, interesting that that's what came to mind from Sam was just now.

36:35.495 --> 36:35.895
[DEREK]: That's fine.

36:36.255 --> 36:36.876
[DEREK]: Thanks for watching.

36:36.916 --> 36:37.656
[DEREK]: I'll see you again soon.

36:37.676 --> 36:37.937
[DEREK]: Hopefully.

36:40.378 --> 36:44.859
[CHRIS]: I think this is the catalyst for him to become a good guy.

36:46.359 --> 37:00.243
[CHRIS]: I think that what his mom is basically saying is, no, no, no, look what you choose to do now is how you choose, how you control your powers, it's how you control your issues, how you control your problems, your genetics.

37:00.923 --> 37:04.924
[CHRIS]: If your powers are your thing, I think that's going to be the catalyst when he finds out that

37:05.704 --> 37:23.494
[CHRIS]: the kids are taken and because they set that up quite nicely which essentially the mimics brother who can fly and is a stoner essentially Emma and him have a share of moment she tells him to go to Polarity.

37:23.954 --> 37:24.475
[CHRIS]: There you go.

37:24.815 --> 37:25.515
[CHRIS]: Fishbash balls.

37:25.535 --> 37:26.796
[DEREK]: You don't tell me where he is.

37:26.916 --> 37:27.537
[DEREK]: Go to Polarity.

37:28.077 --> 37:32.960
[DEREK]: Yeah, I'm Sam's also also been told and they're going to tell Marissa.

37:32.980 --> 37:34.120
[DEREK]: Two people know where they are

37:35.461 --> 37:50.101
[DEREK]: to very strong and powerful people because they said brother Greg is quite powerful and he could take Sam's place potentially, going to a pirate but he's left behind and he's told it in 24 hours that they don't come back and go and talk to Polarity who we know is

37:50.802 --> 37:54.423
[DEREK]: has had an instant and is on the floor of his house as well.

37:54.503 --> 38:02.166
[DEREK]: So that's a way of saving pliers and a way of knowing that somebody might be coming to Elmira to get our heroes as well.

38:02.186 --> 38:02.626
[DEREK]: So that's good.

38:02.646 --> 38:04.126
[DEREK]: Yeah, well done for setting that up.

38:04.186 --> 38:04.547
[DEREK]: I'll let up.

38:04.727 --> 38:05.027
[DEREK]: It's great.

38:06.507 --> 38:11.690
[DEREK]: Excellent, and let's get on to our senior or major moments from the episode.

38:12.150 --> 38:28.839
[DEREK]: I think I'm going to start this one if that's our curse Cause yeah, might my my major moment is the death and resurrection of anobeth You know my ribo really it should be the break-out of albaira and the plan to guess To the plans of free case, boss

38:29.679 --> 38:40.930
[DEREK]: God, that goes 10 quick, it's about three and a half seconds and it just it's about the reason for that and they talked about it multiple times in the planning is that they are so ready for anything that the supes can throw at them.

38:41.831 --> 38:50.419
[DEREK]: They don't realize their college kids, you know, yes, they have parents, but their college kids they don't realize how many decades, almost a century that Volt has been dealing with

38:51.340 --> 39:06.574
[DEREK]: people like them acting out using their powers, you know, they try and go back in the place that Marie had broken out of from on the Amira earlier on in the the year during the summertime and they find that it's completely filled up with cement and effectively.

39:07.114 --> 39:12.740
[DEREK]: Must be covering cameras or at least a trip wire because the second that they realize that it's been blocked by cement.

39:13.160 --> 39:16.664
[DEREK]: The security guards of Elmira are surrounding them and dragging them away.

39:17.124 --> 39:24.011
[DEREK]: So much so that genuinely when I watched this episode for the first time I went out to dream, you know, the way they just got knocked out with gas or something.

39:24.052 --> 39:27.015
[DEREK]: And now they're dreaming the nightmare that it would be to be back in Elmira.

39:27.075 --> 39:27.255
[DEREK]: Nope.

39:27.675 --> 39:42.549
[DEREK]: the night pair is made real in 20 seconds, you know, they can't do anything at all, they're back inside, they've all got their, got their pairs, um, doxed by, uh, by the, by, um, Dr. Golds, they can't use the pairs, um, they are stuck inside.

39:42.809 --> 39:44.171
[CHRIS]: So, so only,

39:45.555 --> 39:59.809
[CHRIS]: Marie's kind of given a shopman to stop her using her power, the other two have just the shop collards and then Emma is in a plexiglass.

40:01.150 --> 40:04.031
[CHRIS]: So, that just... No, no.

40:04.131 --> 40:06.852
[DEREK]: I can't drink or else you will be shocked as well.

40:06.872 --> 40:08.872
[DEREK]: Sorry, they haven't had their powers removed.

40:08.892 --> 40:10.213
[DEREK]: Sorry didn't mean to make sense.

40:10.233 --> 40:11.613
[DEREK]: And like that I just met that they have had.

40:12.393 --> 40:20.716
[DEREK]: They're put in the position just like they were over the course of the summer time, where they were stuck in, you know, none of them can use their powers to get them out of there.

40:20.756 --> 40:21.996
[DEREK]: They are all stuck in there.

40:23.216 --> 40:27.858
[DEREK]: So, that was the big surprise to me as opposed, because you're thinking it's the prison break episode.

40:28.578 --> 40:38.843
[DEREK]: They are where already in prison, they broke out of prison off-screen, or at least married it, the other two were taken out of prison, and now they're back in prison again.

40:38.883 --> 40:46.507
[DEREK]: You know, makes you realize that's about how powerful the author and how much abilities they have to stop a supe if they really want to.

40:47.327 --> 41:01.562
[CHRIS]: And it's great because what I can get shows how much I love the character of Emma, where the flashbang spoke kind of, kind of, crank grenade goes off, shows, it tells you it was a trap and then passes out.

41:02.103 --> 41:04.686
[CHRIS]: Yep, that's Emma, on the time she said those things.

41:06.127 --> 41:08.789
[CHRIS]: And I do enjoy your right.

41:09.429 --> 41:20.777
[CHRIS]: It's all quickly set up and it's actually from that point where we learn from Cypher that Almyra is just a massive experiment for with controls and stuff.

41:21.237 --> 41:24.440
[CHRIS]: So, as we learn more and more about,

41:25.280 --> 41:40.513
[CHRIS]: them and what they do in almyra and stuff you can say okay well yeah if a rat find a way out of a maze during the experiment they block that yeah and that's what that's happened here they just basically put the three rats

41:41.474 --> 42:03.739
[DEREK]: back into the rat race, the mains, if they can find a way out now, and that's kind of the next arc of what's happening in the episode, they work together with Kate, because I suppose it's a bit of a surprise that Emma has been put in the Plexigast cell directly outside of Kate's cell in direct visibility of Kate.

42:04.539 --> 42:20.662
[DEREK]: Until you realize exactly, as you said, that Cypher is just building this entire place like a maze for rats to get out of, you know, he's he's done that on purpose, and you know, he wants them to break out, he wants them to feel like they're free, and then wants to pull the rug from an edge from underneath Marie specifically, um...

42:21.843 --> 42:25.705
[DEREK]: by showing her the body of her sister Anna Beth.

42:26.465 --> 42:28.706
[DEREK]: He's already introduced to the fact that she's in the prison.

42:28.866 --> 42:43.392
[DEREK]: She knows exactly where Anna Beth's being held, so that when she does try to break out, he knows exactly where she's going to go, and he's left her body there, effectively, to push her into using even more power than she's ever used before.

42:43.532 --> 42:49.014
[DEREK]: So it's such an interesting, again, another interesting way of telling this story.

42:50.735 --> 43:03.534
[DEREK]: You see Marie pulling every piece of power from Rander, all the girls that are around are all of their noses are bleeding from the exertion that Marie is going through trying to resurrect her sister-annabeth.

43:04.195 --> 43:05.898
[DEREK]: Um, and it succeeds.

43:06.596 --> 43:09.638
[CHRIS]: Yeah, this is the one I was like, I want to know more.

43:09.698 --> 43:10.779
[CHRIS]: I want to know the next thing.

43:10.819 --> 43:11.259
[DEREK]: Absolutely.

43:11.279 --> 43:13.181
[CHRIS]: Yeah, it's just what exactly?

43:13.401 --> 43:15.583
[CHRIS]: Because I thought it was just she was a blood bender.

43:15.663 --> 43:20.126
[CHRIS]: She could control the cells with the blood.

43:21.007 --> 43:28.012
[CHRIS]: I think we're learning more and more, which is like, hold on, maybe it's not that it's it's go beyond.

43:28.783 --> 43:33.729
[DEREK]: Yeah, I think the big thing about this show and this season, this is what you always do in a season two of a show.

43:33.789 --> 43:37.775
[DEREK]: If you're getting a season two of a show, you expand the mythology significantly.

43:38.736 --> 43:46.526
[DEREK]: You know, the moment when Dean Cypher was talking to all of the suits who he was training in his program, but specifically Marie,

43:47.066 --> 43:53.428
[DEREK]: where you're asking them all how does your powers work and they tell him what they do as opposed to how they work.

43:53.948 --> 43:57.870
[DEREK]: He doesn't care about how they work for you because that's how you've learned to work them.

43:57.930 --> 44:03.912
[DEREK]: You know, he has been discussed by the idea that Marie cuts herself to use the power of her blood.

44:04.812 --> 44:09.855
[DEREK]: and turns it into these, you know, chains and whips and, and their weapons.

44:09.915 --> 44:13.896
[DEREK]: That's what she's been doing because that's how she's learned to use it herself on her own.

44:13.976 --> 44:22.540
[DEREK]: But if she understood what it is that her power actually does, does it control, as you say, the blood cells, does it control the red blood cells as opposed to white blood cells?

44:22.600 --> 44:23.501
[DEREK]: What does it actually do?

44:23.561 --> 44:26.462
[DEREK]: What is it that her power really is behind it all?

44:29.030 --> 44:40.670
[DEREK]: In this case, does she have a blood clotting ability, is she able to force blood back into the body to bring someone back to life, push it around the system, long enough to bring their heart back to life and resurrect them almost.

44:42.172 --> 45:00.942
[DEREK]: is that a pair that she has and he's taken it to the extreme by actually killing Annabeth in the room she the tester and see she has no pulse but she creates a pulse by effectively I think anyway by effectively pushing the blood back ran back render body because she has him a dead very long as suppose would be the the reason for that which

45:01.862 --> 45:05.865
[DEREK]: again tells you something else about Dean Cypheries watching them the whole time.

45:05.945 --> 45:13.431
[DEREK]: It's not like her body's been there for a day and a half or for a couple of hours or directly after they left the room.

45:13.491 --> 45:19.997
[DEREK]: They obviously have been watching on, they know how soon they're going to get to the cell to Anna Beth's push.

45:20.737 --> 45:26.722
[DEREK]: I date she's going to be going around resurrection, resurrecting loads of dead people from past seasons.

45:27.563 --> 45:29.925
[DEREK]: I think it is something that you would have to

45:30.546 --> 45:36.643
[DEREK]: be very close to the death of the character and then she'd be able to resurrect them but it's quite a big cliffhanger moment for the episode.

45:37.239 --> 45:37.819
[CHRIS]: Yeah, no.

45:37.919 --> 45:51.325
[CHRIS]: And it does really set up nicely the next three episodes as kind of, okay, next episode is the actual get out of, oh, my, uh, the racist.

45:52.185 --> 46:03.250
[CHRIS]: Well, I think it is and then I think the sixth, the seventh is essentially the, the pre finale where you set up all the characters and then we have a big finale again.

46:04.051 --> 46:04.592
[DEREK]: See, I don't know.

46:04.752 --> 46:13.318
[DEREK]: I feel like they've burnt the bridge to get age off the prison by stopping to save the life of Anna Beth.

46:13.539 --> 46:15.060
[DEREK]: Remember the alarms hadn't gone off.

46:15.100 --> 46:16.441
[DEREK]: They were questioning Hang on a second.

46:17.061 --> 46:17.922
[DEREK]: This seems pretty easy.

46:17.942 --> 46:19.643
[DEREK]: The alarms haven't gone off for ages.

46:20.184 --> 46:24.827
[DEREK]: They suddenly go off as if someone's going, oh, they've noticed the alarms aren't going off yet.

46:25.187 --> 46:27.449
[DEREK]: Oh, they've noticed the security guards haven't been released yet.

46:28.610 --> 46:33.152
[DEREK]: push them to end that whole way to go to Annabeth and save for a day and then we'll swarm around them.

46:33.173 --> 46:43.058
[DEREK]: I think they're going to be back in their cells again at the start of next week's episode because that's exactly where it seems like for once them for the moment, until he's got his plan and motion.

46:43.967 --> 46:44.387
[CHRIS]: I think so.

46:44.427 --> 46:44.987
[CHRIS]: I think you're right.

46:45.007 --> 46:49.409
[CHRIS]: I think it's just I think it has to end with the back edge on campus.

46:49.729 --> 46:52.851
[DEREK]: At the end of the season, I think we're, I think we're going to be at in the world.

46:53.451 --> 46:53.611
[DEREK]: Yeah.

46:53.651 --> 46:57.052
[DEREK]: So I think yeah, we're going to have one season back, one episode back in campus, probably episode seven.

46:57.633 --> 47:08.177
[DEREK]: Next episode will be a lost based around here, but who does this, these things move really fast, but I think by the end of the season, we will have them joining up in the fight with the star lectures.

47:09.238 --> 47:12.199
[DEREK]: So they're ready for the return of the boys in season five.

47:12.830 --> 47:17.193
[CHRIS]: which moves into my major moment, which is what is more thing.

47:17.433 --> 47:27.899
[CHRIS]: It's kind of what we just chatted about there, which is, I'm trying to understand the what they're setting up with her, because I'm playing myself as Jordan, which is like, what does he want?

47:27.939 --> 47:40.167
[CHRIS]: Just talk plainly, like, cyber speaking in riddles and he's just like, I'm like, one moment he said, you're you're stronger than homelander, you could be more powerful.

47:40.947 --> 47:42.547
[CHRIS]: Power is subjective.

47:42.587 --> 47:43.488
[CHRIS]: It can be strengthened.

47:43.968 --> 48:02.932
[CHRIS]: I think people took it as strength I think it's more than that now, so I mean, no, it's a project or desa She is the last Only living surviving that we are aware of And so I maybe the sister and the bath maybe we're not sure but we can that though that will be

48:04.710 --> 48:06.492
[CHRIS]: told more in the future.

48:06.732 --> 48:15.439
[DEREK]: Yeah, because her parents friends said on a Beth was born of with no vehicle with no connection and no IVF or anything like that, no connection at all.

48:15.459 --> 48:20.744
[DEREK]: But again, she's probably not touched us for a few years or so, especially now that on a Beth is in.

48:21.684 --> 48:22.986
[DEREK]: Yes, yeah, exactly.

48:23.566 --> 48:27.769
[CHRIS]: And I think the what I'm starting to potentially think is

48:28.490 --> 48:35.842
[CHRIS]: That from this resurrection piece, we know that V cannot be separated out of the blood from a supes.

48:37.465 --> 48:50.059
[CHRIS]: um like that's kind of what we've always been told that they actually like once v's in it's in a set at least you're it's the temp v that's a like Huey and the rest of them take.

48:50.320 --> 48:50.520
[CHRIS]: Yes.

48:50.820 --> 48:56.126
[CHRIS]: Which is that one that just gives a human temporary random powers.

48:56.346 --> 48:57.207
[DEREK]: And eventually kills them.

48:57.227 --> 48:57.407
[DEREK]: Yes.

48:57.548 --> 48:58.288
[CHRIS]: And eventually kills them.

48:58.589 --> 48:58.729
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

48:59.069 --> 49:11.553
[CHRIS]: I'm wondering if the whole reason that she can be more powerful is essentially, is that Marie can potentially burn off V. She can remove V from someone's system.

49:12.033 --> 49:13.173
[DEREK]: Interesting.

49:13.313 --> 49:16.794
[CHRIS]: Because she can control blood cell.

49:16.854 --> 49:21.936
[CHRIS]: And we always say that you can sense that you could see the V in their blood.

49:22.576 --> 49:23.376
[CHRIS]: It's part of them,

49:25.517 --> 49:31.999
[CHRIS]: I think it's something to do with that, which is, yeah, she's more powerful in the home under, because she could essentially make you home under him.

49:32.359 --> 49:32.599
[DEREK]: Mm-hmm.

49:32.859 --> 49:33.859
[DEREK]: Well, that can be cool, yeah.

49:33.939 --> 49:38.000
[CHRIS]: Like, she can turn off the V within people's systems.

49:38.040 --> 49:40.541
[DEREK]: You can strip their blood off the V. Yeah.

49:41.481 --> 49:42.962
[CHRIS]: And I think that's an interesting...

49:44.342 --> 50:04.208
[CHRIS]: any interesting kind of piece where you can oh okay well then that does make her with the most powerful supe because therefore she can stop supe she can negate powers almost love a kiss um i think that's uh the a nice idea it's essentially the kill switch

50:04.788 --> 50:11.532
[CHRIS]: We know Cadolkin was involved in homelanders, creation and project V in the company V creation.

50:12.533 --> 50:12.993
[CHRIS]: All of that.

50:13.534 --> 50:15.075
[CHRIS]: A lot of them had these...

50:16.872 --> 50:21.095
[CHRIS]: counter kill switches, which is for their projects, which is essentially, okay.

50:21.115 --> 50:23.156
[CHRIS]: Well, we're going to make the ultimate weapon.

50:23.196 --> 50:24.958
[CHRIS]: We're also going to make the ultimate anti weapon.

50:25.498 --> 50:33.123
[DEREK]: And if that kill switch is in the hands of home lander, which given the sister sages involved in here, yeah.

50:33.143 --> 50:37.726
[DEREK]: So while it may be that she was created to be the kill switch for home lander.

50:37.766 --> 50:41.209
[DEREK]: If he's the one that has a finger on that kill switch, that gives him even greater power, right?

50:41.689 --> 50:44.511
[CHRIS]: He can turn off any super goes actually.

50:44.551 --> 50:44.771
[CHRIS]: I don't

50:45.952 --> 50:46.212
[DEREK]: Uh-huh.

50:46.712 --> 50:48.953
[DEREK]: Or anyone that goes up against him, Yep.

50:49.173 --> 50:53.035
[DEREK]: Star Life has no further powers because he's used Marie to take those away.

50:53.315 --> 50:53.495
[DEREK]: Yep.

50:54.135 --> 50:55.976
[CHRIS]: It's an interesting thing.

50:55.996 --> 51:10.722
[CHRIS]: This is something with the Odessa piece as well, but I'm not sure whether it's just to do with the Odessa mythology or and then or like a kind of your Russian mythology, or it's just a cool sounding

51:12.042 --> 51:21.147
[CHRIS]: kind of Soviet-air Russian, essentially, a Euro-Russia kind of project name.

51:21.828 --> 51:28.792
[DEREK]: It's just one of those ones where I feel like I haven't done the research properly and it'll turn out that this is connected to season two of the boys.

51:29.032 --> 51:38.998
[DEREK]: We've completely forgotten about some mission that they went on, which was connected to Project Adessa, or it feeds into the soldier boy series, of course, that's coming up, which was absolutely good, you know.

51:40.278 --> 51:43.940
[CHRIS]: It's probably probably they've just used that term and it's gonna be in the soldier way.

51:44.280 --> 51:51.763
[CHRIS]: Yeah, that's something about that because it's a nicer Because the year the whole thing about combat be is was it came from not these it came from German.

51:51.803 --> 51:54.444
[CHRIS]: Yes, that so I was like what does that?

51:54.504 --> 51:57.746
[CHRIS]: You're rushing so yeah, so I was like that don't I couldn't

51:58.466 --> 51:58.966
[CHRIS]: Connect.

51:58.986 --> 52:02.707
[CHRIS]: I think yeah, it makes way more sense if you just go.

52:02.807 --> 52:07.088
[CHRIS]: Well, yeah, it was It's gonna we're gonna put it back into World War II.

52:07.108 --> 52:10.589
[CHRIS]: We're gonna make a soldier boy and so far Yeah, I mean no task at all.

52:10.649 --> 52:12.470
[DEREK]: It was a massive Nazi so yeah, man.

52:13.010 --> 52:14.150
[CHRIS]: There you go.

52:14.530 --> 52:15.010
[DEREK]: Excellent stuff.

52:15.331 --> 52:16.631
[DEREK]: Anything else on your major moments Chris?

52:17.362 --> 52:18.022
[CHRIS]: No, that's it.

52:18.102 --> 52:21.084
[CHRIS]: I'm just very interested to see where they go with this.

52:21.124 --> 52:25.846
[CHRIS]: I want to see this cypher versus Marie.

52:26.306 --> 52:27.546
[CHRIS]: What happens in the next episode?

52:27.566 --> 52:30.348
[CHRIS]: Because I can see the fight clear as day.

52:31.008 --> 52:38.391
[CHRIS]: I just want to see what how far they push it in the next, kind of, kind of two hours.

52:39.272 --> 52:39.992
[CHRIS]: But yeah, that's it.

52:40.512 --> 52:42.473
[CHRIS]: Any notes from yourself about this episode?

52:42.865 --> 52:46.807
[DEREK]: Yeah, I've got a couple of fun notes from this episode that I enjoyed.

52:47.868 --> 52:53.531
[DEREK]: Loved in the tie-back to a month earlier when Sister Sage comes to the house to give her welcoming gift.

52:53.551 --> 52:58.393
[DEREK]: The gift that she gives is the known that Scary Guard has sex with the last three episodes.

52:58.413 --> 53:09.920
[DEREK]: So Sister Sage provided the known that Dean Cypher thought was really tacky and ended off being the love partner, I guess, of the Scary Guard that Kate pushed last episode.

53:11.700 --> 53:15.661
[DEREK]: Speaking of something very similar to that, it's some great writing here on Sam.

53:15.721 --> 53:26.724
[DEREK]: When he's talking to his mom, but the puppet show, the Avenue Q, that's on TV, he's looking at the deep and goes, that guy was in my flash, not the real guy, not the puppet.

53:26.804 --> 53:29.585
[DEREK]: And I love that he has to clarify that because he's puppets everywhere.

53:30.085 --> 53:42.238
[DEREK]: And also that little fun little moment when a dad brings back the box of toys and takes out the stuffed toy of Maeve and he goes who I wouldn't touch that, so I've used that in my experimental phase, but here.

53:43.719 --> 53:46.582
[DEREK]: He also mentions that Maeve was dead when he got to the seven.

53:47.443 --> 53:56.432
[DEREK]: And just the fact that there's the mention of the toy and the mention of Maeve, we know she's not dead because we saw her going off to with her partner.

53:57.113 --> 53:58.654
[DEREK]: So, but the world believes she's dead.

53:58.754 --> 54:03.899
[DEREK]: So, just the fact that she's still being kept alive and these mentions makes me think she'll be coming back for that final season.

54:04.440 --> 54:05.001
[DEREK]: I love the boys.

54:05.041 --> 54:06.042
[DEREK]: I think they have.

54:06.062 --> 54:07.423
[DEREK]: She'll join back up with them.

54:08.225 --> 54:08.906
[CHRIS]: Yeah, no, I agree.

54:09.266 --> 54:09.426
[DEREK]: Yeah.

54:10.026 --> 54:14.890
[DEREK]: And just the last one I have, it's just, as Cypher leaves the room when he's having the conversation with Polarity.

54:15.310 --> 54:17.451
[DEREK]: He goes, I'm having a zoom with Dana White.

54:17.832 --> 54:20.013
[DEREK]: Dana White is the head of the UFC.

54:20.233 --> 54:26.338
[DEREK]: So when he says the fight that happened between Marie and Jordan was massive worldwide.

54:26.838 --> 54:32.442
[DEREK]: He's getting a call from the head of the UFC, maybe trying to range supe, ultimate fighting league.

54:33.783 --> 54:33.923
[DEREK]: Yeah.

54:34.864 --> 54:43.171
[DEREK]:

54:58.715 --> 55:05.000
[DEREK]: I really enjoyed this episode because it had lots of twists, didn't expect them to be back behind Boris and Prisen.

55:05.921 --> 55:11.005
[DEREK]: As I said, I thought it was a dream when it happened first because it was just happened so fast, there was so well prepared.

55:11.025 --> 55:17.571
[DEREK]: I'm still constantly surprised by how open Cypher is if you just ask him the right question.

55:18.011 --> 55:19.552
[DEREK]: He's like, oh, you just want to know that?

55:19.712 --> 55:19.873
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

55:20.133 --> 55:21.594
[DEREK]: This is exactly what I did.

55:21.754 --> 55:22.014
[DEREK]: Which is

55:22.895 --> 55:26.561
[DEREK]: All feeding into that idea exactly as your theory is going, Chris.

55:26.641 --> 55:33.190
[DEREK]: Thus, Dean Cypher is not a real person who's being controlled by somebody who doesn't really care about what happens to this body of Cypher.

55:33.571 --> 55:36.475
[DEREK]: He's being way too uncharacteristically.

55:37.917 --> 55:39.819
[DEREK]: forward with everybody else around him.

55:40.339 --> 55:44.282
[DEREK]: He doesn't really seem to care about the fact that any of these people could just rip his head off.

55:44.422 --> 55:53.369
[DEREK]: The only power that he's shown is that the power to manipulate people, but he hasn't shown that to enough people to scare them into not attempting to attack him.

55:54.030 --> 55:57.672
[DEREK]: Polarity here attacks him with a stich knife effectively, which he stops midair.

55:57.913 --> 56:03.357
[DEREK]: Bush, yeah, it just makes me feel like he's a very, very powerful character and probably being

56:07.760 --> 56:09.762
[DEREK]: So, yes, really intriguing episode.

56:10.362 --> 56:11.263
[DEREK]: Lots of interesting stuff.

56:12.544 --> 56:20.269
[DEREK]: This show is another one of those shows, especially being a weekly show that I love watching every single episode, I love how it builds out the universe and builds out the mythology of these characters.

56:20.730 --> 56:24.292
[DEREK]: And it's a great side story from the main boy's story.

56:24.813 --> 56:27.254
[DEREK]: So, I'm enjoying spending time with the show.

56:28.115 --> 56:28.735
[DEREK]: Chris, have it yourself.

56:29.956 --> 56:50.705
[CHRIS]: very much like you each episode have been getting better and better, giving us answering a few questions, posing five more, allowing us to jump on speculation station on the train and just kind of enjoy the ride that is kind of that weekly piece of fun with that comes from

56:51.725 --> 57:00.953
[CHRIS]: Here's three episodes at the beginning of the season to re-weight whistle and then we're going to take you on this journey for a few few weeks and not long enough to drag it out.

57:01.914 --> 57:03.255
[CHRIS]: And I like that about the boys.

57:03.355 --> 57:04.837
[CHRIS]: I also like that about the show.

57:05.037 --> 57:06.358
[CHRIS]: I like this universe.

57:06.678 --> 57:08.200
[CHRIS]: I've always enjoyed the over the top.

57:09.760 --> 57:25.829
[CHRIS]: I was going to say over the top, but I suppose over the top grandiose kind of bombastic style and writing narrative of Eric Kripke and the boys universe and even diabolical the animated shows.

57:26.369 --> 57:30.952
[CHRIS]: Like it was all just we're wacky fun, but also

57:32.432 --> 57:33.293
[CHRIS]: very poignant.

57:34.753 --> 57:45.379
[CHRIS]: And that's what we get from Kate's little strip dancer to what the hell's happening with Marie and how it all feeds back into the next final season of the boys.

57:46.020 --> 57:47.441
[CHRIS]: Just absolutely love it.

57:48.521 --> 57:49.842
[CHRIS]: Yeah, and looking forward to next episode.

57:50.516 --> 57:51.456
[DEREK]: Fantastic.

57:51.977 --> 58:07.124
[DEREK]: Ah, I think before we get on to the next episode, before we get on to feedback, I think we need to have a little drink, then our local pub, or at least the Good Elkin University, student bar, for our Gen V student bar quiz.

58:07.664 --> 58:09.665
[DEREK]: Chris, we have our fifth question.

58:10.085 --> 58:10.465
[DEREK]: All these.

58:11.886 --> 58:15.828
[CHRIS]: Yes, the question is, where does Dean Cypher get the,

58:20.772 --> 58:21.573
[DEREK]: fantastic.

58:21.693 --> 58:24.756
[DEREK]: Yeah, we've talked a lot about that about that today and about that meal.

58:25.297 --> 58:34.025
[DEREK]: Yeah, I do, I do also like that's that doing, Dean Cypher is asking Polarity, does he want a, does he want an assistant?

58:34.566 --> 58:36.207
[DEREK]: And they just keep bringing you things all the time.

58:36.247 --> 58:36.548
[DEREK]: It's great.

58:37.848 --> 58:47.111
[DEREK]: kind of talking about slavery as we know from earlier on the season, the humans are absolutely terrified to not do the right thing when they're around the seeps, right?

58:47.211 --> 58:52.633
[DEREK]: So it's kind of talking about, do you want to have a slave who will bring you things at all times to polar us, I think?

58:54.254 --> 58:58.395
[DEREK]: Bush, we didn't give out the answer to the question earlier on in the episode.

58:58.415 --> 58:59.855
[DEREK]: You'll have to go back and watch the episode.

58:59.875 --> 59:01.016
[DEREK]: Chris, do you want to get the question?

59:01.076 --> 59:01.396
[DEREK]: One more time.

59:01.856 --> 59:02.076
[CHRIS]: Yes.

59:03.257 --> 59:10.043
[CHRIS]: We did Dean Cypher get the no very bloody Wagyu steak for Polarity delivered from.

59:10.403 --> 59:11.304
[DEREK]: Fantastic.

59:11.344 --> 59:21.013
[DEREK]: You just need to collect together all eight correct answers and at the end of the season email us to feedback at tvpodcastindustries.com and you can be able to chance of getting your hands on some Gen V goodies.

59:21.393 --> 59:28.459
[DEREK]: The quiz for this season and of course, each of the episodes of tvpodcast industries are brought to you by our supporters over on Patreon including Sheryl Jones.

59:28.779 --> 59:29.440
[DEREK]: Thanks so much, Sheryl.

59:29.660 --> 59:50.202
[CHRIS]: Thank you so much, Sheryl, and no, we are no relation, but you never know, maybe all the way back deep in her registry history, 23 and me, there's a connection though, who knows who knows, who knows, who knows, who knows, the Joneses always stick together at the crest, we do, we do, we do, it's the Irish, the Irish and the English, we we're like a,

59:50.742 --> 59:52.003
[CHRIS]: really nice STI.

59:52.643 --> 59:57.025
[CHRIS]: Just kind of get everywhere and we spread every country.

59:57.646 --> 59:59.607
[CHRIS]: So yeah, there's a Jones every country.

01:00:00.107 --> 01:00:01.628
[DEREK]: There certainly is.

01:00:01.668 --> 01:00:03.529
[DEREK]: But thank you so much, Sheryl, for your support.

01:00:03.569 --> 01:00:08.391
[DEREK]: You could support us monthly for any event over on patreon.com slash TV podcast industries.

01:00:08.672 --> 01:00:13.194
[DEREK]: Or if you'd like to support us with a one-off donation you can pop on over to buy me a coffee dot com slash

01:00:15.215 --> 01:00:40.847
[CHRIS]: you can also support us by subscribe to the podcast and sharing it with your friends because remember sharing the podcast is sharing the love now we do have some feedback so I think it's about time we head on over here what some of our fellow boys and girls have to say about this show and particularly this episode first up is an email from the one and only coffee and bugger who had this to say

01:00:41.847 --> 01:00:53.459
[CHRIS]: Greetings fellow re-lon, apprehended defenders, either Krippki is taking us on a long con or closing down this chapter of the boys' verse in earnest.

01:00:54.199 --> 01:00:55.801
[CHRIS]: This entire season is

01:01:00.045 --> 01:01:00.765
[CHRIS]: And that's bad it.

01:01:01.425 --> 01:01:07.467
[CHRIS]: Also, it looks like Dr. Meatloat Cadolk is the puppet master with Cypher his proxy puppet.

01:01:08.427 --> 01:01:20.610
[CHRIS]: On the boy season five stage, we've got Sage of CEO and Cadolk and I like, is it me or does it just seem like they're setting up actually evolve blue form to be anti-climactic?

01:01:21.450 --> 01:01:24.571
[CHRIS]: A lot of expectant zigs waiting for their zikes.

01:01:25.571 --> 01:01:26.911
[CHRIS]: I like that by the way, coffee,

01:01:31.194 --> 01:01:41.286
[CHRIS]: Coming back and went on to say, back to this episode, it was clear to note that everyone that Marie was going to mind her rescue attempt and that Cypher was setting her up to do so.

01:01:41.887 --> 01:01:45.932
[CHRIS]: Further, he was pushing her into in real life training via Anna Beth.

01:01:46.973 --> 01:01:48.894
[CHRIS]: even Jordan could see something was wrong.

01:01:49.455 --> 01:01:53.397
[CHRIS]: How do you beat someone who knows you're every impulse and move?

01:01:54.078 --> 01:01:56.980
[CHRIS]: Finally it was nice to see Sam get his moment or two.

01:01:57.500 --> 01:02:03.984
[CHRIS]: Remain unsure as to what polarity tangent is and Emma was as always a true gem.

01:02:04.745 --> 01:02:14.732
[CHRIS]: Looking forward to what comes next with or without a zeik for a jailbreak Barbie's polar meltdowns and sage-sated ciphers out of five.

01:02:18.088 --> 01:02:31.683
[DEREK]: Actually, Coffee of Lucky, you've just reminded me of one of my favorite Emma moments from the episode when she looks us at Case who's been stripped of all her wig and everything and goes, you look like weird part of you So harsh But so true

01:02:33.925 --> 01:02:34.586
[CHRIS]: I love him.

01:02:34.946 --> 01:02:36.026
[CHRIS]: Thanks coffee vodka.

01:02:36.607 --> 01:02:37.787
[CHRIS]: Yeah, they are.

01:02:37.807 --> 01:02:46.372
[CHRIS]: I I've given up with trying to usually guess where Eric Kupke and the likes go.

01:02:46.392 --> 01:02:49.013
[CHRIS]: I enjoy speculating.

01:02:49.213 --> 01:02:53.096
[DEREK]: This little episode where Chris has given that a theory is to where he thinks it's going to go.

01:02:53.156 --> 01:03:09.227
[CHRIS]: Chris, but in other words, but though, I think like I am pretty short, moves of my theories are always wrong, because I am still going by what they did in the comic books and what we have very much seen for the last

01:03:10.650 --> 01:03:25.018
[CHRIS]: season and a bit of the boys over's gen V and then the last one of the boys is they do Z when everyone thinks it's I because everyone knows they's I did in the comic books or they or they do a

01:03:26.468 --> 01:03:30.170
[CHRIS]: ZIG, which is a combination of ZIG and a ZIG.

01:03:30.491 --> 01:03:32.492
[DEREK]: Wouldn't that just make it just straight line, Chris?

01:03:32.912 --> 01:03:33.112
[DEREK]: Yes.

01:03:33.492 --> 01:03:34.913
[DEREK]: If you ZIG, Amzag at the same time.

01:03:34.973 --> 01:03:36.494
[DEREK]: They go straight for the point.

01:03:37.035 --> 01:03:43.699
[DEREK]: They know just going to end with the death of homelander at the hands of Billy Blutcher and that's exactly what they're going to do.

01:03:45.020 --> 01:03:46.240
[DEREK]: That is not a spoiler for the comics.

01:03:46.340 --> 01:03:47.481
[DEREK]: I don't know how the comics ended.

01:03:47.541 --> 01:04:10.656
[DEREK]: I didn't get that far So I didn't read through them as the show has been coming guys quickly enough for me to get to any with us And I just I'm laughing as another one of your comments here a coffee in Valka where you call Gadalkin Dr. Meatloaf Does it does remind me the rockier picture show of course as a mix of meatloaf and a Dr. Frankenferter Which would be hell on earth really

01:04:14.179 --> 01:04:16.742
[CHRIS]: Oh, but he's just a sweet, sweet baby.

01:04:17.162 --> 01:04:18.123
[DEREK]: Yes, he is.

01:04:18.143 --> 01:04:21.327
[DEREK]: I just couldn't imagine meatloaf being in this fishnet trites.

01:04:22.588 --> 01:04:25.471
[CHRIS]: Uh, pretty sure it happened in one of the cinema.

01:04:25.932 --> 01:04:30.577
[CHRIS]: If anyone went to the Rocky Horror Cinema experiences, I'm pretty sure it did.

01:04:30.917 --> 01:04:57.200
[DEREK]: absolutely thanks so much for your feedback as always coffee vodka we hope to hear from you again for next excerpts and on to Merrill Smith with her email and for this episode she says welcome inmates of Illmirra what an amazing episode we just got packed with compelling reveals they're clearly setting the stage for an intense remainder of the season and possibly even laying the grandwork for the boy season five the narrative tension is building and it feels like every character is going to have and to navigate through one hell of a storm and

01:04:57.600 --> 01:05:02.645
[DEREK]: Once again, I couldn't help it be reminded of the penguin, especially that moment when Sophia was first put in Arkham.

01:05:03.025 --> 01:05:04.366
[DEREK]: Oh, of course, very good.

01:05:04.386 --> 01:05:05.868
[DEREK]: Oh, yeah, I can't call back.

01:05:06.068 --> 01:05:07.189
[DEREK]: Yeah, like that.

01:05:07.209 --> 01:05:10.512
[DEREK]: Um, Kate being brought into Elmira really echo that vibe.

01:05:10.832 --> 01:05:12.734
[DEREK]: It was a dehumanizing scene to witness.

01:05:13.054 --> 01:05:16.598
[DEREK]: Maddie Phillips deserves a huge shout out here for her physical performance.

01:05:16.898 --> 01:05:17.939
[DEREK]: She's truly talented.

01:05:18.259 --> 01:05:28.983
[DEREK]: Side note, there's a great interview with her in Variety where she talks about that scene, where checking ice, and curious how this experience will affect Kate going forward, will it give her a new perspective and what her friends went through when they were in the facility?

01:05:29.503 --> 01:05:35.865
[DEREK]: It was also great to see Sam again, I would have liked to him to interact more with the cast, but his storyline on its own was solid.

01:05:36.125 --> 01:05:44.988
[DEREK]: One of the things I continued to appreciate about this series is how deeply it explores the characters' psyche and emotions it doesn't shy away from the complexities of this world they're trying to survive in.

01:05:45.528 --> 01:05:52.032
[DEREK]: I did miss the Emma Squad in this episode, but maybe there's a bigger plan on the works perhaps a future escape mission with Sam's help.

01:05:52.392 --> 01:05:53.393
[DEREK]: That could be a fun twist.

01:05:53.973 --> 01:05:56.414
[DEREK]: Meanwhile, Jordan went through the ringer emotionally.

01:05:56.714 --> 01:06:01.997
[DEREK]: Both London Thor and Derek Lou brought real weight to the experience of Cypher being inside Jordan's body.

01:06:02.298 --> 01:06:07.761
[DEREK]: That confrontation between Jordan and Cypher was a stand-up moment, possibly hinting at some hidden truth or deeper

01:06:10.122 --> 01:06:12.204
[DEREK]: Speaking of Cypher, what a strategist.

01:06:12.524 --> 01:06:19.890
[DEREK]: He's like a master chess player, casually revealing Kate's location in Almyra, knowing it would provoke a response and move the pieces exactly how he wants.

01:06:19.910 --> 01:06:23.373
[DEREK]: I miss Link later his hands down the best addition to the series so far.

01:06:23.713 --> 01:06:26.636
[DEREK]: A really healthy stick around long enough to share a scene with Anthony Star.

01:06:26.936 --> 01:06:28.157
[DEREK]: That will be iconic.

01:06:28.577 --> 01:06:29.418
[DEREK]: And then there's Anabeth.

01:06:29.798 --> 01:06:33.342
[DEREK]: I knew she'd appear eventually, but I wasn't expecting it under these circumstances.

01:06:33.462 --> 01:06:37.006
[DEREK]: She did a solid job, and I hope her character sticks around and gets more development.

01:06:37.306 --> 01:06:42.191
[DEREK]: While Cypher's main goal seems to be unlocking Marie's full potential, it's clear the others may benefit as well.

01:06:42.592 --> 01:06:45.295
[DEREK]: Maybe we're heading towards a level up moment for the whole group.

01:06:45.895 --> 01:06:50.719
[DEREK]: I keep getting X-Men first class vibes from the show, especially in the scene between Cyphrine Polarity.

01:06:51.100 --> 01:06:54.722
[DEREK]: It reminds me of that classic knife scene, very magneto-coated.

01:06:55.103 --> 01:06:57.124
[DEREK]: Also seeing Sage again was a surprise.

01:06:57.164 --> 01:07:01.128
[DEREK]: I wonder if this is part of her phase 2 plan, she teased at the end of the boys season 4.

01:07:01.568 --> 01:07:04.570
[DEREK]: All in all, I'm looking forward to seeing how this mystery continues to unfold.

01:07:04.831 --> 01:07:13.438
[DEREK]: The episode gave us four botched prison breaks, staples as salvation and charcoal body bang sessions, 8 or 5, can't wait for the next one.

01:07:14.458 --> 01:07:15.939
[DEREK]: Oh, I love the right ones.

01:07:16.119 --> 01:07:16.720
[DEREK]: This is really cool.

01:07:17.520 --> 01:07:18.901
[CHRIS]: Yeah, thanks so much, Maro.

01:07:19.441 --> 01:07:23.404
[CHRIS]: And Hamish is tan-stand in the next edition.

01:07:23.424 --> 01:07:24.465
[CHRIS]: Yeah.

01:07:25.365 --> 01:07:30.228
[CHRIS]: I think in my first episode back on for the season, I said that he choose the scenery.

01:07:30.508 --> 01:07:32.430
[CHRIS]: I'm happy with that.

01:07:32.470 --> 01:07:35.772
[CHRIS]: There are some actors that you're like, okay, you can take a break.

01:07:35.832 --> 01:07:37.933
[CHRIS]: You don't need to solve, I do.

01:07:37.993 --> 01:07:40.515
[CHRIS]: But with Cypher, the whole...

01:07:41.295 --> 01:07:45.697
[CHRIS]: strategist and like there's something going on more behind the scenes.

01:07:46.297 --> 01:07:53.460
[CHRIS]: Hamish just embodies that there is that slice mark with everything said.

01:07:53.760 --> 01:07:56.041
[DEREK]: Yeah, I think John, John pointed out one that I keep.

01:07:56.221 --> 01:07:57.701
[DEREK]: Okay, I can't get out of my head now.

01:07:57.761 --> 01:07:58.381
[DEREK]: It's great though.

01:07:58.882 --> 01:08:00.242
[DEREK]: Thanks for the it's not annoying at all.

01:08:01.062 --> 01:08:03.063
[DEREK]: He pointed out how he pronounces some words.

01:08:03.884 --> 01:08:07.545
[DEREK]: Just to let them drop a little longer than everybody else to the random.

01:08:07.585 --> 01:08:07.665
[DEREK]: So,

01:08:08.205 --> 01:08:27.101
[DEREK]: Listen to the way he speaks next time as well because if you haven't noticed it so far, he just let some words hang in the air and a really weird cadence So it's a cool touch that he does so listen to the way he speaks it's very cool It's not I don't think it's indicating anything else it doesn't mean anything other than it's just an interesting A factation is given to the character.

01:08:27.121 --> 01:08:28.863
[DEREK]: It's quite a cool little little touch you've given to them

01:08:29.403 --> 01:08:31.344
[DEREK]: Hema think later is fantastic.

01:08:31.384 --> 01:08:33.664
[DEREK]: He's absolutely lovers the show as well.

01:08:33.704 --> 01:08:52.450
[DEREK]: He's done some some really great interviews where he says this is one of the most interesting shows He's done You know the idea of this whole series being a story about kids in college resisting the world around them and standing up against the horrible forces that are trying to push them down He said hi could I not be part of a show like this in the environment we're in at the moment.

01:08:52.490 --> 01:08:53.630
[DEREK]: So he loves this

01:08:54.370 --> 01:08:54.611
[CHRIS]: Nice.

01:08:55.011 --> 01:08:55.231
[CHRIS]: Nice.

01:08:56.013 --> 01:09:00.018
[CHRIS]: I really hope he is in the new series of Carrey.

01:09:00.038 --> 01:09:02.041
[CHRIS]: I'm Mike Flanagan is doing.

01:09:02.061 --> 01:09:02.562
[CHRIS]: Oh, yeah.

01:09:02.582 --> 01:09:08.870
[CHRIS]: He's now part of the like Flanagan verse and apparently the only reason he wasn't in the life of Chuck with

01:09:09.471 --> 01:09:11.132
[CHRIS]: Tom Edison is because he was doing this.

01:09:11.352 --> 01:09:13.033
[DEREK]: Oh, there you go.

01:09:13.373 --> 01:09:16.235
[CHRIS]: But they joked about how he hasn't.

01:09:16.415 --> 01:09:20.758
[CHRIS]: He's the only one who hasn't come back for a second Mike Flanagan piece.

01:09:21.098 --> 01:09:22.459
[CHRIS]: Well, usually he finished.

01:09:22.519 --> 01:09:24.380
[CHRIS]: I'm like, please for the carried.

01:09:24.460 --> 01:09:27.042
[CHRIS]: Please for carry because he would play.

01:09:27.122 --> 01:09:27.622
[CHRIS]: We know no.

01:09:27.662 --> 01:09:29.123
[CHRIS]: He played good principle.

01:09:29.643 --> 01:09:30.844
[CHRIS]: Dean of a college.

01:09:31.144 --> 01:09:31.925
[DEREK]: Yeah.

01:09:32.025 --> 01:09:32.245
[DEREK]: Anyway.

01:09:32.745 --> 01:09:36.607
[DEREK]: I'd be kind of cool, you know, Phanagan has finished his time over at Netflix.

01:09:36.647 --> 01:09:41.448
[DEREK]: He's been, he's moving over to Prime Video with Carrier that gives us first show on Prime Video.

01:09:41.488 --> 01:09:47.111
[DEREK]: So, and here we are with Pamerson Clator over here, working on Prime Video, so you can stay in the studio, as well.

01:09:47.651 --> 01:09:48.491
[CHRIS]: Yeah, exactly.

01:09:48.991 --> 01:09:49.351
[DEREK]: Excellent.

01:09:49.772 --> 01:09:52.653
[DEREK]: Thanks so much for your feedback of Chorus Mariles.

01:09:52.673 --> 01:09:53.393
[DEREK]: Really good to hear from you.

01:09:53.984 --> 01:09:55.305
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much, Maran.

01:09:55.325 --> 01:10:00.510
[CHRIS]: I can't wait for your next piece of feedback, I know you can't wait for the next episode.

01:10:01.171 --> 01:10:09.998
[CHRIS]: Over on our Facebook group, Facebook.com/group/TVpodcastindustries, the one-only Dr. Bob Phillips had this to say.

01:10:10.499 --> 01:10:16.284
[CHRIS]: So, we see again that Sage is next-level, kinky, tyrannical, dictatorial,

01:10:17.265 --> 01:10:17.525
[CHRIS]: Queen.

01:10:18.145 --> 01:10:23.148
[CHRIS]: I mean, we knew that we leave from the deep and the scared, but Cypher's dad.

01:10:24.208 --> 01:10:35.053
[CHRIS]: Kate also appears to have a strong king to her powers, and I think the neurosurgeons need to have their practices examined as I'm not sure it's staples really need to be left in that long.

01:10:36.153 --> 01:10:37.894
[CHRIS]: We are left with a few questions, though.

01:10:38.174 --> 01:10:39.935
[CHRIS]: Is Polarity fracturing completely?

01:10:40.775 --> 01:10:43.736
[CHRIS]: Does but-choking guy have benefits beyond the physical?

01:10:45.097 --> 01:10:51.620
[CHRIS]: How on earth did Jordan get such a good parking spot on university campus and can they let us in on the secret?

01:10:51.860 --> 01:10:52.440
[DEREK]: Very good.

01:10:53.501 --> 01:10:59.503
[CHRIS]: Thanks Dr. Bob and yeah, I'm pretty sure he just kind of picked up the car and walked it over at that point.

01:10:59.823 --> 01:11:02.945
[DEREK]: I actually did go back to Dr. Bob at this specific point.

01:11:02.965 --> 01:11:07.887
[DEREK]: I just because I'm pretty sure we know the reason why Jordan got that parking space.

01:11:08.287 --> 01:11:12.211
[DEREK]: it's because they're number one on the college and that's not their car.

01:11:12.892 --> 01:11:19.618
[DEREK]: It was given to them when they became number one and in this episode Jordan tries to hand it on to Marie because she's now become number one.

01:11:19.658 --> 01:11:26.364
[DEREK]: So I think what happened was the reason why they've got the best park at space in the whole place is because they are number one.

01:11:26.444 --> 01:11:30.648
[DEREK]: So you get lots of benefits and perks, I guess, would be the reason right?

01:11:32.490 --> 01:11:33.170
[DEREK]: It's a great point.

01:11:33.190 --> 01:11:40.614
[DEREK]: It's their talk to Bob before really like the idea that Polarity could be flat fracturing completely.

01:11:41.234 --> 01:11:42.434
[DEREK]: We mentioned a little bit there.

01:11:43.575 --> 01:11:44.355
[DEREK]: It's just interesting.

01:11:44.375 --> 01:11:56.080
[DEREK]: I suppose because of the beginning of the season we had thought that Andre had died because he'd pushed his Paris too far and here in this episode we hear Cypher saying it's because Cypher pushed his Paris too far in an experiment.

01:11:56.140 --> 01:11:56.921
[DEREK]: So it's a little

01:11:57.881 --> 01:12:02.305
[DEREK]: adds to it's not just Andre dying from the same thing that his father had.

01:12:03.946 --> 01:12:09.070
[DEREK]: Although Cypher is aware that Polarity has this the same issue as opposed.

01:12:09.110 --> 01:12:14.375
[DEREK]: So, was it a threat from Cypher saying I could push you as far as I put as Andre pushed himself?

01:12:14.435 --> 01:12:17.337
[DEREK]: Was that what was coded in there in the conversation?

01:12:18.578 --> 01:12:24.162
[DEREK]: He knows now that he can't kill him with throwing a knife at his throat because Cypher can stop that in the air.

01:12:24.403 --> 01:12:24.503
[DEREK]: So,

01:12:25.544 --> 01:12:26.104
[DEREK]: Yeah, I don't know.

01:12:26.324 --> 01:12:26.625
[DEREK]: I don't know.

01:12:26.725 --> 01:12:32.469
[DEREK]: It's a it's a really interesting thing to catch though Yes, thank you so much Dr. Bob.

01:12:32.690 --> 01:12:40.076
[DEREK]: Absolutely and I'm wondering about those staples Now we know and I suppose Kate hasn't really been a show of Hospital for that long.

01:12:40.096 --> 01:12:52.967
[DEREK]: She's only been only been out a few days because she came back in episode three I think Yeah, I'm just a two or three and so many a couple of days later, so so it's not been that long No, maybe there was a much longer build up to that fight than I'm thinking there was

01:12:54.717 --> 01:13:09.060
[CHRIS]: I'm thinking it's about a week or two, but I still think it's enough that like they're still a bit of dried blood on it, so yeah, I'm like it's the staples need to go out before it starts to really heal though, done, don't they?

01:13:09.080 --> 01:13:10.740
[DEREK]: Don't I heal over the staples?

01:13:11.140 --> 01:13:12.061
[DEREK]: Ah, book breaks down.

01:13:12.381 --> 01:13:18.262
[CHRIS]: Maybe they just don't care what supes any more, it's just like, yeah, you're going to set off a metal detector or at least they don't care okay, it's any more.

01:13:18.322 --> 01:13:19.742
[DEREK]: Yeah, that's what you've used on the map.

01:13:20.222 --> 01:13:23.103
[DEREK]: I always love the medical perspective, but perspective, the talk to Bob brings as well.

01:13:24.480 --> 01:13:31.972
[CHRIS]: Yeah, thanks Dr. Bob and thanks to all of our boys and girls for their fantastic feedback as always.

01:13:32.032 --> 01:13:32.833
[CHRIS]: Much appreciated.

01:13:33.214 --> 01:13:39.484
[CHRIS]: Don't forget you can head on over to TV podcast industries.com and you can find

[CHRIS]: Don't forget to subscribe also at tvpodcasts.com and that is it for this blood

01:14:03.362 --> 01:14:08.467
[DEREK]: Absolutely, we'll back to chorus next week with the boys' gen V season 2 episode 6, looking forward to that one.

01:14:08.888 --> 01:14:23.482
[DEREK]: We have just finished our coverage of the excellent Alien Earth, which is available on Disney Plus over here, or on Hulu in the U.S., I highly recommend watching that show, and following along with our coverage for the first season, it was a really, really enjoyable show.

01:14:24.202 --> 01:14:51.253
[DEREK]: We also are continuing our coverage of Sandman and we've recorded another episode and then we will finish that off in the next couple of weeks and there's one otherite standing show that we haven't covered yet because as we joked about Disney have decided to release their Halloween show before Halloween at a time that we can't cover so we will cover it before Halloween that is Marvel zombies which is really really well with the watch we've been seeing lots of feedback come into our Facebook

01:14:51.994 --> 01:14:59.532
[DEREK]: on each of the episodes as well, so we'll be talking about Marvel zombies in the next couple of weeks as well, leading into horror Halloween, right?

01:15:00.015 --> 01:15:13.662
[CHRIS]: Yes, so if you enjoy marvel, if you enjoy zombies, make sure you give it a watch and give us your feedback before we record and we'll hear your dulcet tones or maybe just your words on our future podcasts.

01:15:13.942 --> 01:15:23.626
[DEREK]: Absolutely, I will say once again, just in case you haven't seen it, I will say once again, Marvel animation is stepping up in terms of the of the adult content in the Marvel series.

01:15:29.229 --> 01:15:38.473
[DEREK]: Yep, I'm very much looking forward to talking about that and talking about all the connections that are in there and all the characters that are in at Marvel's album, these are especially ones that we weren't expecting, as well.

01:15:38.573 --> 01:15:40.414
[DEREK]: Thank you so much for joining us.

01:15:40.554 --> 01:15:41.495
[DEREK]: We'll talk to you again next time.

01:15:41.915 --> 01:15:52.099
[CHRIS]: Yes, thank you so much for joining us and remember, because I am John right now, keep watching, keep listening, and keep being blood filled with me puppets.

01:15:52.520 --> 01:15:53.260
[DEREK]: Bye, bye!
