Synopsis: A year after Homelander consolidated his power, Annie January aka Starlight infiltrates a Vought shareholder meeting and leaks the Flight 37 video, damaging trust in Homelander. Sister Sage responds by discrediting the footage with help from Ashley Barrett, now Vice President of the United States.
But Homelander wants more, wants devotion, wants to be happy and the only way he believes that he can be happy is with Starlight and William Butcher dead. With this in mind he forces Sage to reveal that petit Hughie Campbell, Mother's Milk, and Frenchie, who are imprisoned in a Freedom Camp, are to be executed.
Billy Butcher reunites with Annie and Kimiko to infiltrate the camp and save the boys, but his focus is Frenchie who can help develop the supe-virus further. The escape Plan A, A-Train, refuses Annie’s ask to help evacuate the Boys from the Freedom Camp as he has his family to protect. But after The Deep once again comes for him and his family he decides to confront his fears and help the team bust the Boys out of internment.
Starlight Billy and Kimiko gain an entry through a tunnel opened by the supe known as The Worm, who does like the taste of the Rochester Honeoye soil. As they enter Cabin 19, Homelander is waiting for them. As he delays killing his foes Annie creates a distraction, allowing the group to scatter. M.M. kills Love Sausage, and Homelander captures Hughie, but A-Train arrives in the nick of time and intervenes to save Hughie.
The team escapes after Homelander becomes fixated on A-Train. As he chases him A-Train crashes trying to avoid a collision with an innocent bystander and is murdered by Homelander after provoking him with some hometruths as he lays out how weak, snivelling and pathetic Homelander is once you strip away the man from the suit.

05:35 --> 05:43 [SPEAKER_04]: show is, of course, of has always been Eric Crippky since the beginning of the season, the show is based on the comic book series from Garth Ellis and Derek Robertson.
05:43 --> 05:46 [SPEAKER_04]: The executive producers for the series are Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg.
05:47 --> 05:58 [SPEAKER_04]: This episode was written by Paul Grilong, this is his third episode of The Boys, and he's also written two episodes of Vaughan Rising, which is the next prequel series at coming out from the creators of The Boys.
05:58 --> 05:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
05:59 --> 06:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Still, fair.
06:00 --> 06:01 [SPEAKER_04]: I'll find out at the start.
06:01 --> 06:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm guessing in his continuity, no doubt.
06:04 --> 06:13 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure, yeah, I'll be finding out how soldier boy got involved and how votes started with age, we'll be getting to see some characters from Gen V, who are no longer with us.
06:14 --> 06:16 [SPEAKER_04]: I will see them in the past as well, so that'd be kind of cool.
06:16 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_04]: at catching up and thought rising when all is said and done on the boys.
06:20 --> 06:22 [SPEAKER_04]: The episode was directed by Phil Skrigier.
06:22 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_04]: This is his sixth episode of the boys.
06:24 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_04]: He's also directed the season for premiere and he'll also directed episode of Rising Two.
06:28 --> 06:38 [SPEAKER_04]: Phil Skrigier was a massive part of the show Supernatural, which is where Eric Krippie called his teeth and where he met most of the cast for the season of the boys as well.
06:38 --> 06:40 [SPEAKER_04]: Lots of members of the Supernatural cast coming up.
06:40 --> 06:42 [SPEAKER_04]: and the rest of the season.
06:42 --> 06:44 [SPEAKER_04]: All the ones that we've missed out on for the previous four seasons.
06:44 --> 06:45 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
06:45 --> 06:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Look for good stuff.
06:46 --> 06:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Good stuff.
06:47 --> 06:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Should be cool.
06:48 --> 06:52 [SPEAKER_04]: John, do you want to tell us what they gave us with your synopsis for the Boris Season 5 episode?
06:52 --> 06:55 [SPEAKER_04]: One 15 inches of shared dynamite.
06:55 --> 06:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
06:57 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_01]: A year on after homeland consolidators power, Annie January, aka Starlight, infiltrates a vort shareholder meeting, and leaks the flight 37 video damaging trust in homeland.
07:09 --> 07:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Sistosage responds by discrediting the footage with help from Ashley Barrett, now vice-president of the United States.
07:17 --> 07:26 [SPEAKER_01]: But homelander wants more, wants devotion, wants to be happy, and the only way he believes that he could be happy is with Starlight and William Butcher dead.
07:27 --> 07:36 [SPEAKER_01]: With this in mind, he forces say to reveal that Petty Huey Campbell, Mothers Milk and Frenchy, who are imprisoned in a freedom camp, ought to be executed.
07:36 --> 07:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Billy Butcher reunites with Annie and Miko to infiltrate the camp and save the boys, but his focus is on Frenchy who can help develop the supervirus further.
07:47 --> 07:55 [SPEAKER_01]: The escape plan A, A train refuses Annie's asked to help to evacuate the boys from the freedom camp as he has his family to protect.
07:55 --> 08:04 [SPEAKER_01]: But after the deep once again comes for him and his family, he decides to confront his fears and help the team boss the boys out of
08:04 --> 08:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Starlight, Billy and Kameko gain entry through a tunnel opened up by the supernune as the worm, who does like the taste of the Rochester Horneau's soil.
08:15 --> 08:17 [SPEAKER_01]: As the enter cabin 19, homeanda is waiting for them.
08:18 --> 08:22 [SPEAKER_01]: As he delays killing his foes and he creates a distraction, allowing the group to scatter.
08:23 --> 08:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Mothers milk kills love sausage and homeanda captures
08:27 --> 08:31 [SPEAKER_01]: but A-trainer arrives in the nick of time and intervenes to save Huey.
08:31 --> 08:34 [SPEAKER_01]: The team escapes after Homanda becomes fixated on A-traine.
08:35 --> 08:44 [SPEAKER_01]: She chases him, A-trained crashes, trying to avoid a collision with an innocent bystander, and is murdered by Homanda after provoking him with some home truths.
08:44 --> 08:51 [SPEAKER_01]: She lays out how weak, sniveling, and pathetic Homanda is, once you strip away the man from the suit.
08:51 --> 08:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'd love to give some applause for the final lines there from A-Train and the steps that we're going to talk all about.
08:58 --> 09:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Our main moments from the episode, but yeah, I was saying, they're going, yes, finally it's all happening.
09:03 --> 09:08 [SPEAKER_04]: This is a great way to kick off at this final season, the first steps of the final season.
09:08 --> 09:14 [SPEAKER_04]: And lots of callbacks, as you can hear from the synopsis, there lots of callbacks to the first ever episode of the show as well, which is cool.
09:14 --> 09:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
09:15 --> 09:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I mean, that ending, I think, for the first episode, just really good, and I think just hats off to, you know, editors who appreciate a real hard edit and cut off.
09:29 --> 09:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And yes, whilst the sound keeps playing, so you know, you leave, you remove the image, but you have the sound and still going as the credits roll kind of,
09:41 --> 09:45 [SPEAKER_01]: In a sense, almost in silence, just weird background noise.
09:45 --> 09:46 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, no music this time.
09:46 --> 09:52 [SPEAKER_04]: I don't really do have a kind of energetic rock song coming out of each episode of this time.
09:52 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_04]: The silence is underpinning what just happened, the seriousness of where we are at that time.
09:57 --> 09:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
09:58 --> 10:13 [SPEAKER_01]: but let us get into our points and so each of us have chosen one of the most interesting the boys or protagonist moment, the seven or antagonist moment and another outstanding moment from the episode.
10:13 --> 10:17 [SPEAKER_01]: So first up let's move on to the boys moments, Derek.
10:18 --> 10:19 [SPEAKER_01]: What's your rules?
10:19 --> 10:21 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I guess we're going to talk about the breakouts at some point.
10:21 --> 10:26 [SPEAKER_04]: So we should really just start there out for our protagonist moments for the episode.
10:26 --> 10:26 [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's massive.
10:26 --> 10:28 [SPEAKER_04]: And the breakouts from Camp 47.
10:29 --> 10:32 [SPEAKER_04]: I wonder why the number of the camp is 47.
10:32 --> 10:33 [SPEAKER_04]: I do not know.
10:33 --> 10:37 [SPEAKER_05]: It's a reference to the order of leader of some country's residents.
10:37 --> 10:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.
10:38 --> 10:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, maybe.
10:39 --> 10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Who's the 47th president of the year?
10:41 --> 10:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I remember.
10:41 --> 10:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
10:42 --> 10:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not very good in American.
10:44 --> 10:45 [SPEAKER_04]: It's a new ghetto.
10:45 --> 10:48 [SPEAKER_04]: But yes, freedom camp, 47.
10:48 --> 10:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I do think this is hilarious the freedom camp.
10:53 --> 10:58 [SPEAKER_01]: The all American concentration camp It's got red-white and blue.
10:58 --> 10:59 [SPEAKER_01]: It's got fast food.
10:59 --> 11:09 [SPEAKER_01]: It's got murals of the seven It's got seven merch, so you've even got the mugs that look like it's kind of some
11:09 --> 11:26 [SPEAKER_01]: previous merchant never got sold and I love that they have the the deep biography and just some indoctrination to sort of get them back on the chosen path with the countless no doubt resherings of the dawn of the 7th movie.
11:26 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_04]: Delight's movie is done on the 7th.
11:28 --> 11:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Delight's movie is done on the 7th.
11:29 --> 11:31 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just so good.
11:31 --> 11:34 [SPEAKER_01]: It just happening over the tunnel in the background.
11:34 --> 11:41 [SPEAKER_01]: So definitely listen out because I just think, yeah, the absurdity of the Freedom Camps really, really interesting.
11:42 --> 11:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
11:42 --> 11:46 [SPEAKER_01]: And also the fact that they are making moonshine from the toilet water.
11:46 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_01]: So I get what's it called toilet wine?
11:49 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
11:49 --> 11:54 [SPEAKER_01]: That people would make from their lavatory if they were in prison.
11:54 --> 11:54 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
11:54 --> 11:55 [SPEAKER_04]: There was sort of brewery.
11:55 --> 11:56 [SPEAKER_04]: So up.
11:56 --> 12:10 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely, there's a tiny gag that you might miss, where Mother's milk says that it does some corn in the toilet wine, but it's a nice gag in there, but I'm really interesting idea here that we have to get all of our characters and all of our cast.
12:11 --> 12:18 [SPEAKER_04]: I use all of this camp back in with the boys so they can have their moment up against the seven rights.
12:18 --> 12:19 [SPEAKER_04]: So, um,
12:19 --> 12:31 [SPEAKER_04]: Loved the idea that Annie January has known where they are the whole time, she's been flying overhead, taking pictures of the facilities, so she knows where they are, but she doesn't want to break the night.
12:31 --> 12:46 [SPEAKER_04]: and discovered later on in discussions with Billy that the reason why she doesn't want to break them out is because well she's done a lot of bad things over the course of the last year and she's scared that Huey won't recognize who she's become in this war against against the homeland respects.
12:46 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_01]: And she's kind of following it off as well.
12:47 --> 12:53 [SPEAKER_01]: He's safer in there than being out constantly chased shots out and so on.
12:53 --> 13:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's kind of interesting because I mean she puts that question to Billy to begin with, why hasn't he done anything?
13:00 --> 13:07 [SPEAKER_01]: and he certainly has been dealing with his own kind of his own.
13:07 --> 13:10 [SPEAKER_01]: internal struggle with his superpowers.
13:10 --> 13:17 [SPEAKER_01]: And we do see quite a tense moment with him at his strange fathers in London.
13:18 --> 13:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah absolutely, really good to see him.
13:21 --> 13:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Like that was a great scene.
13:25 --> 13:29 [SPEAKER_01]: And do you think he did sort of unleash the devil inside of him?
13:30 --> 13:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think so.
13:31 --> 13:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think that was it.
13:32 --> 13:34 [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was a great way to
13:34 --> 13:36 [SPEAKER_04]: kill off the character in a scene before everything happens.
13:37 --> 13:47 [SPEAKER_04]: In the show, closing out a story detail, I suppose, for us fans who followed the show for the last four years, kind of great to see John Noble getting his come up and it's there.
13:47 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_04]: I also like the fact that John Noble himself isn't Australian actor, just like Carl Erbin is, and both of them are putting on this British London accent.
13:56 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_04]: And
13:56 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_04]: So because the action is slightly muddled by their Australian accent, they do sound a bit more like father and so then somebody else would.
14:03 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Which is great.
14:04 --> 14:05 [SPEAKER_04]: And both of them got their stairs in the order of the ring.
14:05 --> 14:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
14:06 --> 14:11 [SPEAKER_04]: For John Noble, I'm sorry John Noble, I know was well famous before then, but that's our ice southern both first.
14:11 --> 14:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, absolutely same here.
14:13 --> 14:14 [SPEAKER_01]: And I do like the fight as well.
14:14 --> 14:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Camico.
14:15 --> 14:38 [SPEAKER_01]: She's in Manila, and the Philippines, she's there because she was deported there after effectively pulling out the faces off her vault guards, ripping them off, there was sort of sick to death of that, so I think she fell out of the plane and it took her a while to pull bring all her parts back together again, she found her asshole.
14:38 --> 14:40 [SPEAKER_01]: But three miles away.
14:40 --> 14:42 [SPEAKER_04]: That was on one of the attempts to go back to the US.
14:42 --> 14:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
14:43 --> 14:51 [SPEAKER_01]: But she's also now is able to talk after lots of speech therapy, lots of therapy, and lots of TikTok.
14:51 --> 15:00 [SPEAKER_01]: And I do like then that there's moments where she's talking like TikTok effectively, where she's just like a stream of consciousness, where
15:00 --> 15:06 [SPEAKER_01]: when she's walking with the worm to where he's going to dig the tunnels again into the camp.
15:06 --> 15:11 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's droning on and on and she's just like, your voice makes me want to kill myself.
15:12 --> 15:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really sorry.
15:13 --> 15:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Was that too harsh to say?
15:15 --> 15:16 [SPEAKER_01]: She's not.
15:16 --> 15:20 [SPEAKER_01]: She hasn't quite got what is appropriate or not to say.
15:20 --> 15:21 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
15:21 --> 15:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I like that idea a lot.
15:23 --> 15:33 [SPEAKER_04]: It's certainly inspired by her viewing of TikTok because I love the first thing she says to her best friend, Annie, when she hooks me, it's like, God, your face is a greasy.
15:33 --> 15:35 [SPEAKER_04]: It's like hooking a burger, isn't it?
15:35 --> 15:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like hooking a muckerid.
15:36 --> 15:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
15:38 --> 15:45 [SPEAKER_01]: And even like because you have Billy Butcher saying, you were quiet all the way over on the fly.
15:45 --> 15:47 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's because you were saying, oh, oh, oh, oh.
15:48 --> 15:50 [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you next Tuesday and see you next Tuesday.
15:50 --> 15:55 [SPEAKER_01]: And it just really, really enjoyed that.
15:56 --> 15:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And the way she describes that so, so much.
15:59 --> 16:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have a feeling it's not going to be very long before somebody tells her, I wish you'd go back to science.
16:04 --> 16:06 [SPEAKER_04]: This is your personality when you can talk.
16:06 --> 16:08 [SPEAKER_01]: even homelanders like you don't.
16:08 --> 16:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
16:09 --> 16:09 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
16:10 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody's surprised about it.
16:11 --> 16:19 [SPEAKER_04]: I just want to point out because I have obviously got back and listened to our season for rapper podcast for for last season.
16:19 --> 16:25 [SPEAKER_04]: And I was always surprising that after watching the show for that many seasons, we almost
16:25 --> 16:33 [SPEAKER_04]: lost over the fact that the first words ever said by Camico were in the final episode of Season 4, when French was being taken away.
16:34 --> 16:36 [SPEAKER_04]: We almost neglected to mention a job.
16:36 --> 16:38 [SPEAKER_04]: And here it is being such a central point.
16:38 --> 16:42 [SPEAKER_04]: You never talked before and now she's talking all the time in this episode.
16:42 --> 16:46 [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, I'll do the plan itself to break everybody out from the camp.
16:46 --> 16:50 [SPEAKER_04]: I love that there's one plan going on inside the camp.
16:50 --> 16:58 [SPEAKER_04]: We have Huey and Mother's Milk and Frenchy on the inside trying to come up with their plan to break themselves out.
16:58 --> 17:01 [SPEAKER_04]: They've been plotting on this for a year at this stage.
17:02 --> 17:09 [SPEAKER_04]: Alan the outside, we see I Billy Butcher and Camico working together to get them from the other side, effectively.
17:09 --> 17:10 [SPEAKER_04]: So there are two things going on.
17:11 --> 17:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
17:11 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_01]: And I love the fact that
17:13 --> 17:18 [SPEAKER_01]: with Billy and his team, they know there's going to be a trap here.
17:18 --> 17:25 [SPEAKER_01]: And in size, they've got an intel that they're going to be executed hence why it's ramping up their escape.
17:25 --> 17:30 [SPEAKER_01]: But more of this milk can see through it that it's been orchestrated to get people.
17:30 --> 17:33 [SPEAKER_01]: close to them to come and save them so that it's a trap.
17:33 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_01]: So they both are coming to the same kind of conclusions and getting themselves ready without actually having talked to one another.
17:40 --> 17:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
17:41 --> 17:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And I can't wait.
17:42 --> 17:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
17:43 --> 17:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
17:43 --> 17:44 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, do you have that?
17:44 --> 17:44 [SPEAKER_01]: No.
17:45 --> 17:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's milk or is like, you know,
17:47 --> 17:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's just because he knows how this rolls, he's been in Afghanistan, but what they're up against is bad and he was like, we're dead men walking effectively.
17:59 --> 18:08 [SPEAKER_01]: And so he's kind of like, you know, whilst yes, it will break out to him, he feels like it's all very finite and that
18:08 --> 18:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Does he really want to be reunited with his family when they're safe not being near him?
18:15 --> 18:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
18:16 --> 18:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Where as Frenchy and Healy are very much wanting to reunite with Camico and Stahlite.
18:24 --> 18:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
18:25 --> 18:31 [SPEAKER_04]: And I kind of think that Mother's Milk is probably speaking a lot of what the fans, like ourselves, think is going to happen this season.
18:31 --> 18:32 [SPEAKER_04]: It's the final season of the boys.
18:33 --> 18:38 [SPEAKER_04]: Not everyone's going to make an end alive at the end of this season.
18:38 --> 18:45 [SPEAKER_04]: There's a couple of people who are already on the path to death at the moment just from medical issues and other things.
18:46 --> 18:52 [SPEAKER_04]: But by the end of the season, I'm not imagining a huge image of people making an eggs at the end of a modern book.
18:52 --> 18:56 [SPEAKER_04]: I speak into that just so you know everybody, uh, we're not going to actually, you know, exactly.
18:57 --> 19:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I do like the fact as well that
19:00 --> 19:08 [SPEAKER_01]: you know, in terms of them preparing to escape Huey comes back out and home lander is the at the Freedom Camp 47.
19:08 --> 19:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Literally all the inmates from that cabin that were left in are all dead and murders.
19:14 --> 19:18 [SPEAKER_01]: And ultimately here, home lander knows that they
19:18 --> 19:22 [SPEAKER_01]: know about the trap that he's planning.
19:22 --> 19:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
19:22 --> 19:26 [SPEAKER_01]: And he knows that Billy Buncher will more than likely know about it.
19:27 --> 19:33 [SPEAKER_01]: So I like the fact that everyone knows that it's a trap, but everyone's preparing for it, putting different ways.
19:33 --> 19:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:34 --> 19:36 [SPEAKER_01]: So this is just kind of a nice thing.
19:37 --> 19:40 [SPEAKER_01]: It's almost like a Russian doll of different people.
19:40 --> 19:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, even to the point that that's homeland, it says,
19:43 --> 19:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I knew all about Molotov cocktails.
19:45 --> 19:48 [SPEAKER_01]: We just allowed you to keep them to give you hope to give you a bit of hope.
19:48 --> 19:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like to the point that he was speaking to with the FBSA lady and where he's saying, you know, how am I survived all this?
19:59 --> 20:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I had hope and I had hope that it would get better.
20:05 --> 20:14 [SPEAKER_01]: We would win out as effectively a guy who is trying to jump the fence and get blown up by one of the soup guards.
20:14 --> 20:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes We're at the internment camp.
20:16 --> 20:28 [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah everyone's wanting to get out of camp 47 But I think as to whether that makes sense in the reality of their world is another matter, you know
20:28 --> 20:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Like mother's milk doesn't want to or doesn't think it makes much difference.
20:33 --> 20:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
20:34 --> 20:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
20:34 --> 20:43 [SPEAKER_01]: For Huey, it's confirmation of his hope theory and, you know, and again, the FPSA lady, it's we're never going to get that to say.
20:43 --> 20:46 [SPEAKER_01]: She's on the mother milk sort of spectrum here.
20:47 --> 20:49 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's all just, are you,
20:50 --> 21:03 [SPEAKER_01]: downtrodden and downbeaten by all, or do you still have hope that somehow something better, something good will prevail above what homeland has consolidations and created?
21:03 --> 21:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Or more to the point, sister's age?
21:06 --> 21:08 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, exactly what she's, what she's cooked up.
21:09 --> 21:09 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
21:10 --> 21:19 [SPEAKER_04]: I kind of love how the action split, it's a major scene with lots of, lots of moving parts, but the minute of
21:20 --> 21:40 [SPEAKER_04]: Homelander knows how dangerous she is so cuts her in half and that kind of takes out Camico from the fight outside and he has the plan to light up the entire place and blind homelander so they have that moment to get everybody out of the building effectively But then everybody separates because Annie has to carry
21:40 --> 21:43 [SPEAKER_04]: a member of the boys team away with her.
21:43 --> 21:52 [SPEAKER_04]: And once she does it to positive them then come back for the next person and the agreement that they made is the person that goes first and maybe only will be Frenchy.
21:52 --> 21:53 [SPEAKER_04]: And
21:53 --> 21:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because at this stage, they don't believe the A train is going to come and help.
21:57 --> 21:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
21:58 --> 21:58 [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
21:59 --> 22:09 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm really well played reaction from Jack Wait when he sees Annie arrive, go over to French and the half-body of Camico and pick the two of them up and fly away.
22:09 --> 22:13 [SPEAKER_04]: He just seemed kind of going away the year for you to do that for me.
22:13 --> 22:14 [SPEAKER_04]: And there you go.
22:14 --> 22:15 [SPEAKER_04]: off with somebody else.
22:15 --> 22:18 [SPEAKER_04]: I thought I was the one that you would pick up first kind of thing.
22:18 --> 22:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody else has paras or at least at Veggie's case is very violent and very capable of these situations.
22:25 --> 22:29 [SPEAKER_04]: He's always been the one that's not capable, so he always thought he was the one to be saved.
22:29 --> 22:32 [SPEAKER_04]: That's interestingly, that's part of the conversation he has with homeowner.
22:32 --> 22:39 [SPEAKER_04]: Why would Billy Boucher and Starlight risk everything in their life to save someone as boring and simple as you?
22:39 --> 22:43 [SPEAKER_04]: And he re kind of going, well, I do it for them.
22:43 --> 22:45 [SPEAKER_04]: It can't go, is he justifying it?
22:45 --> 22:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Does he think that that's why they do it for him?
22:48 --> 23:18 [SPEAKER_01]: it is that it's because they love them really it's not just because you do it for them because he's not as powerful as they are right he's not as adept in all the situations as they are so they actually just love them and they save them from these situations but i do like the fact that home and it's almost like it's left speechless by it's like non-plossing that notion of camaraderie isn't in his very kind
23:17 --> 23:25 [SPEAKER_01]: He's built up a bit of resilience in Freedom Camp, like he saves French, effectively from getting shift.
23:26 --> 23:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
23:26 --> 23:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, it's got a bit more of the street smarts or the internment camp smarts than he did previously.
23:33 --> 23:42 [SPEAKER_04]: It's a bit of a surprise with a person like Franchise who's gone through a lot in his life that he's just walking through camp with his head foot and son, not paying attention that somebody might want to kill him.
23:42 --> 23:45 [SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I do like the kind of keep their personalities in the camp.
23:45 --> 23:53 [SPEAKER_04]: We have Franchise still being the kind of drug runner, drug dealer, and we've got Muller's milk as the fighter when you're the minute you see him, he's fighting against somebody else.
23:53 --> 24:03 [SPEAKER_04]: in a paid match effectively, for gambling effectively, and Huey's the one that hopeful, and that's the way he's always been on the outside as well.
24:03 --> 24:10 [SPEAKER_04]: And we've probably got a bit more to touch on in the breakouts of the camp, but John, do you want to go on to your protagonist moment from the episode?
24:10 --> 24:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I think it's probably more to do with the actual breakout where we get a trains here at the moment.
24:16 --> 24:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I do like the build-up to this and we saw him briefly in the last episode of Gen V. He has in a sense come on the side of Starlight and the Starlightes.
24:27 --> 24:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
24:28 --> 24:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And put it.
24:28 --> 24:36 [SPEAKER_01]: He's also wary of going up against Vort or against 7 and in particular of going up against homeland.
24:36 --> 24:46 [SPEAKER_01]: We hear that when he effectively declines the plan A, which is he comes in and whisks everyone away to safety in a flash.
24:47 --> 24:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Because he has to protect his family.
24:51 --> 24:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Effectively he's moving his brother and his
24:55 --> 25:12 [SPEAKER_01]: nephews and nieces around the world to keep them out of the grit of homeland and the seven in particular the deep and black noir who are effectively tracking them down and chasing them around the world.
25:12 --> 25:13 [SPEAKER_01]: So
25:13 --> 25:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I thought, you know, that to me made sense at the same time, you then see this really much improved relationship between him and his brother.
25:21 --> 25:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But in terms of then, when he has to move them again, because the deep arrives after, in a sense being admonished by a home
25:37 --> 25:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Terrible, terrible podcast.
25:40 --> 26:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this podcast, then it's like, you know, he effectively confronts the deep, you know, stop following my family and he can see that the deep is good and that's because that's what I used to be like, like, in a sense it starts off with them being scrappy and, you know,
26:06 --> 26:16 [SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody would be affected by the virus and whatever, you know, just thought I was a joke and there may be an element of truth to that, but it's the reflected
26:17 --> 26:25 [SPEAKER_01]: to a train from the deep is the fear that he himself has around and homeowner.
26:25 --> 26:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
26:26 --> 26:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I just do what I give a bit of props for the smile that comes in a train's face when he's told me.
26:32 --> 26:37 [SPEAKER_04]: He's reminded of the prank that he played on with that there isn't that there isn't octopus flashlights, that's hilarious.
26:37 --> 26:38 [SPEAKER_04]: Great moment.
26:38 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_04]: But you're right, yeah, of course the big thing about the deep has always been that he will do anything to please homelander.
26:44 --> 26:46 [SPEAKER_04]: And here he is,
26:46 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_04]: a bait to go and kill the only person that was a friend of his.
26:49 --> 26:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm loving it.
26:50 --> 26:53 [SPEAKER_01]: He rides in on a hammerhead shark, Alexander.
26:54 --> 26:56 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's fantastic.
26:56 --> 27:07 [SPEAKER_04]: I feel if this was something that had been in season two of the boys when they were still throwing money at the show, we absolutely would have seen him ride the waves all the way in there, but we just see it just seem kind of get off,
27:07 --> 27:33 [SPEAKER_01]: So good, I mean, Zander will leave what I say to you exactly, it's just, it's so, so passive, but I mean, ultimately the deep fails again at now, branding A train, bringing him back to Vort and getting his brother and the rest of it, the family, but in a sense that moment, okay, A train just runs away in that moment, but
27:34 --> 27:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I think galvanizes a train into coming to be the plan A and to come to Starlight's A's so that he arrives in and again it's a lovely little slow-mo sequence of the plan time.
27:51 --> 27:59 [SPEAKER_01]: It's very, you know, our flash which of course is in another universe but
27:59 --> 28:02 [SPEAKER_01]: it's it's just so good seeing him.
28:02 --> 28:08 [SPEAKER_01]: I like the fact that with Billy Butcher's tentacles he's just looking at them going, what the hell are they?
28:08 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_04]: So it is like, well I've never seen nothing where I haven't seen those before.
28:12 --> 28:22 [SPEAKER_01]: But you know he saved some others milk and more importantly he saves Huey from being taken out by the laser eyes of homeland.
28:22 --> 28:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
28:22 --> 28:29 [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think we've seen a huge amount of this technique used on the boys in the past where they trained.
28:29 --> 28:37 [SPEAKER_04]: We've seen this usual cook silver in the Marley University, we've seen it used with the flaster course, both characters that I trained as kind of based off the speedster characters.
28:38 --> 28:41 [SPEAKER_04]: But I love the use of it here, you know, that we see.
28:41 --> 28:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Homelanders eyes, lighting up, and by the time the lasers are almost asked, Hughie's head, that's the moment when a train gets him.
28:50 --> 28:52 [SPEAKER_04]: And he gets sliced across the shoulder for it.
28:52 --> 28:54 [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that was going to be the payment for what happened here.
28:54 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_04]: I thought he would be, he would be badly injured from the slice across the shoulder from the lasers, and maybe slow down a little bit.
29:01 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_04]: But it's much worse than that, really.
29:03 --> 29:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is, because now there's a little bit of weird cutting going on here, and I think around this whole sequence, that's how it's been cut because all of a sudden you see a train, it's almost doing a few laps of the prison huts in the internment camp, the super fast Benny Hill.
29:27 --> 29:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I thought, oh, that's
29:31 --> 29:52 [SPEAKER_01]: the different members off the safety really quickly but then you just see them running out of the main gate of the camp and homeowners know where to be seen like his entire grand plan to make him happy has fallen apart because in a sense he's come face to face with one of the seven but I think he probably
29:52 --> 29:54 [SPEAKER_01]: thought was incredibly loyal.
29:55 --> 29:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
29:55 --> 30:08 [SPEAKER_01]: He probably actually maybe liked to some degree because there was a part of the original seven face to face with him again and so he's after a train.
30:08 --> 30:17 [SPEAKER_01]: We do see him saying this to the
30:17 --> 30:21 [SPEAKER_01]: There's a huge chase, you know, A-Train is chased down by homelander.
30:22 --> 30:32 [SPEAKER_01]: And in a sense, he captures up to him simply because he avoids crashing into a girl, walking across the road as we were introduced to him in the very first episode.
30:32 --> 30:41 [SPEAKER_01]: So I like, even the look on Hughie's face when he is very quickly taken out of harm's way that it is A-Train, who's done this.
30:41 --> 30:46 [SPEAKER_01]: He was saved in from being laserized.
30:46 --> 30:51 [SPEAKER_01]: kind of, you know, think there's a real great little redemption moment for that A train.
30:51 --> 31:11 [SPEAKER_01]: But I think what even solidifies it even more is just that the home truths that he gives to and to home under after home under has caught up with him, you know, and I mean, because it kind of starts off with home under saying, well, you can catch the A train at
31:11 --> 31:16 [SPEAKER_01]: After all, and he just says, it's the end of the road for you, buddy boy.
31:16 --> 31:22 [SPEAKER_01]: You feel like it's just about to take him away or maybe it's going to be a laser to the face or whatever.
31:22 --> 31:26 [SPEAKER_01]: But ultimately, a train really just starts laughing at him.
31:26 --> 31:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Laughing at his face is as why was I so afraid?
31:32 --> 31:41 [SPEAKER_01]: You're
31:41 --> 32:04 [SPEAKER_01]: just the struggle between it makes it real visceral and kind of real personal that actually another soup saying they're standing up and actually not being afraid of whatever he's going to do because that's half of the greatness of homeowner as a character how and he is portrays certainly since the beginning here by Anthony Stark.
32:04 --> 32:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, the tension, absolutely.
32:07 --> 32:11 [SPEAKER_01]: character can deliver as to will he won't he kill someone?
32:11 --> 32:12 [SPEAKER_01]: What will he do?
32:12 --> 32:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Where will this psychosis taken?
32:15 --> 32:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Is it into the absurd?
32:17 --> 32:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Is it into the incredibly violent or whatever?
32:22 --> 32:24 [SPEAKER_01]: And here it's
32:24 --> 32:28 [SPEAKER_01]: you know snapping the neck of a train.
32:28 --> 32:28 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
32:28 --> 32:37 [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm really importantly that he snaps his neck almost not using his Paris, which is what he's just been told by a train.
32:37 --> 32:38 [SPEAKER_04]: Why not you without your Paris?
32:38 --> 32:39 [SPEAKER_04]: You're nothing you're released.
32:39 --> 32:47 [SPEAKER_04]: You know great that a train has this moment especially after the conversation with the deep where he looks at the fear in the deep size and goes, well, I'm not going to be afraid anymore.
32:47 --> 32:48 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to go and do this.
32:48 --> 32:49 [SPEAKER_04]: This will show me
32:49 --> 33:07 [SPEAKER_04]: How powerful I am and how much of a hero I really am on the inside, you know, and the whole thing that he's been built in towards since he Since he saved mother's milk Last season is he wants to be an actual hero regardless of what that means, whether it means death or whether it means Immortality, whether it means People remember him for doing something good.
33:07 --> 33:10 [SPEAKER_04]: He wants to be a hero now, so he finally is able to obtain us.
33:10 --> 33:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, really really good
33:11 --> 33:16 [SPEAKER_04]: One of the things I really love about that scene is it's a nod to a superman versus the Flash.
33:17 --> 33:20 [SPEAKER_04]: A story that I've always wanted to know, superman does have super speed.
33:21 --> 33:23 [SPEAKER_04]: The Flash is the sequester who wins in a race.
33:24 --> 33:27 [SPEAKER_04]: The joke here is that I try and effectively was still...
33:27 --> 33:55 [SPEAKER_04]: ahead of home land number when he chose to be a hero he was slowed down by hitting a bunch of trees and home land they're plowed through it and caught up with the train so yeah really really cool building all that out and having a real big character moment for this character of a train he's been on both sides since the beginning he kicked it all off right he's the one that brought you in because he accidentally killed his his girlfriend or absolutely his girlfriend unknowingly because he wasn't paying attention to you yeah exactly
33:55 --> 33:59 [SPEAKER_01]: but shall we get on to our seven moments?
33:59 --> 33:59 [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
34:00 --> 34:07 [SPEAKER_04]: They are really modeled by the time we were at Season 5 of the show because a train was a member of this haven before, right?
34:07 --> 34:12 [SPEAKER_04]: So choosing who's in the seven who's not is going to be the struggle of each each episode again, jump!
34:12 --> 34:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, and I think for me my choice here, which is about Ashley being a vice president I'm not entirely sure that she is in the saffron, but she is still there with war So it is and is a puppet of the saffron Yeah, and
34:29 --> 34:38 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I think we saw last season were, in a sense, she was given the chance to get out by a train and he said come with me if you want to live kind of thing.
34:39 --> 34:43 [SPEAKER_01]: And she chose to stay and take compound V too scared.
34:43 --> 34:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
34:44 --> 34:52 [SPEAKER_01]: And we saw kind of her heads, her skull bubbling in that now we see her with seemingly a great set of her.
34:52 --> 34:56 [SPEAKER_01]: And not only is
34:56 --> 34:59 [SPEAKER_01]: she's still working for Vort in a sense.
34:59 --> 34:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
34:59 --> 35:05 [SPEAKER_01]: It's through the White House as Vice President, a press secretary.
35:05 --> 35:06 [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, she's Vice President.
35:06 --> 35:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, not press secretary.
35:08 --> 35:10 [SPEAKER_04]: It's definitely reminding me of a certain press secretary.
35:11 --> 35:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so she is the Vice President.
35:13 --> 35:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
35:13 --> 35:16 [SPEAKER_01]: But she's coming out in front of the press.
35:17 --> 35:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was her role at Vortz.
35:18 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm pretty sure she was the main press liaison director, I guess at Vortz.
35:24 --> 35:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
35:24 --> 35:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And so she is doing that as the vice president there.
35:29 --> 35:35 [SPEAKER_01]: And in order to cover up the footage of Flight 37.
35:36 --> 35:38 [SPEAKER_01]: So
35:38 --> 35:52 [SPEAKER_01]: she's basically saying that the footage is all lies and but it's seemingly is that the compound V that she took is or at least at the moment, I don't know whether it's real
35:52 --> 36:07 [SPEAKER_01]: fully legit or not, she's saying that she can read minds effectively, whether she's doing it in the press room because she knows how the press think and what they're gonna ask because of all her experience.
36:07 --> 36:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, whether she can actually read the mind of that reporter is another matter entirely.
36:12 --> 36:16 [SPEAKER_04]: The fact that the reporter doesn't respond that it all to where she says that she's right.
36:16 --> 36:18 [SPEAKER_04]: His mind is very saying, and she just attacks him.
36:19 --> 36:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Again, like a certain person, press secretary Wood
36:22 --> 36:29 [SPEAKER_04]: The fact that she does that there and then later on which talks to her now husband and says I was a little first sight on you.
36:29 --> 36:34 [SPEAKER_04]: I was gonna say that cuz I read minds And it's saying in those ways and it's so dodgy.
36:34 --> 36:50 [SPEAKER_04]: It's so unlikely that that's the parachute got We saw her turn into this gross looking like wezel character from from the DC if you've seen Suicide Squad that's what she looked like as the as her head started to bubble It did not make me think that she was getting the parachute read other people's minds
36:50 --> 36:51 [SPEAKER_01]: No, not at all.
36:51 --> 36:52 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing.
36:52 --> 36:56 [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't feel legit that she can do that.
36:56 --> 37:00 [SPEAKER_01]: And weirdly, she meets with Sister Sage later.
37:00 --> 37:03 [SPEAKER_01]: And Sister Sage is not asking her.
37:05 --> 37:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you should know because you can read my mind.
37:07 --> 37:09 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's just telling it irrespective.
37:09 --> 37:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It's only in the interview with her husband, and the kind of replacement for Ezekiel.
37:14 --> 37:16 [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't catch the name actually.
37:16 --> 37:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
37:17 --> 37:20 [SPEAKER_04]: If this person... Oh, I know it's to be digs from Hamilton.
37:20 --> 37:20 [SPEAKER_04]: But...
37:20 --> 37:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and it was with firecracker.
37:24 --> 37:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I do like that sage comes in interrupts her and he's like sage, my sister in Christ and she, because I don't believe in your space ghost at all his son.
37:35 --> 37:38 [SPEAKER_01]: And then you get this real bit of, um,
37:38 --> 37:43 [SPEAKER_01]: this real bit of real bitchiness between sage and ashley worm.
37:43 --> 37:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Sage says, does the power of Christ can palen you to thicken?
37:47 --> 37:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Basically, he's an effem, and she's like, well, are you still doing the deep?
37:52 --> 37:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I think I can smell it, the great barrier queen.
37:58 --> 37:59 [SPEAKER_01]: That's fantastic.
37:59 --> 38:01 [SPEAKER_01]: It's so, so good.
38:01 --> 38:06 [SPEAKER_01]: And I must say it was really, really,
38:06 --> 38:27 [SPEAKER_04]: just so funny but you hear the other bit of there that she's made vice president and made marry this guy because a cat lady wouldn't be allowed to wouldn't play well with the American people and then you hear actually saying but I didn't think I had to kill him wasn't that a bit far so she killed her cat and married this loser and so that she could become vice president
38:27 --> 38:29 [SPEAKER_01]: That's actually looking really, really confident.
38:29 --> 38:34 [SPEAKER_01]: And what I think is great about this theme is you have stage effectiveness in look.
38:34 --> 38:47 [SPEAKER_01]: You need to now sort of create the situation because homeland and now wants to arrest and imprison thousands of Americans for essentially doing memes, posts, texts, or whatever.
38:47 --> 38:57 [SPEAKER_01]: And on being told that, because you go as well, we've removed all opposition in the FDA, the EPA, all these different government agents.
38:57 --> 38:59 [SPEAKER_01]: like, yeah, a real doge kind of thing.
39:00 --> 39:25 [SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, as well as purging people from this that and the other thing, she goes on about where all these opposition starlighters have been purged from society, from institutions and so on, but now it's coming down to ordinary Americans
39:25 --> 39:30 [SPEAKER_01]: breathing out as she's held in her nerve, and actively.
39:30 --> 39:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
39:30 --> 39:36 [SPEAKER_01]: She's real, you know, so she is still actually a whole, but
39:37 --> 39:55 [SPEAKER_01]: also very cumbersome to the front of camera in the press office and the interview with firecracker but there's something going on here around the compound V that she took as to what that may be imbued on it or not.
39:56 --> 39:58 [SPEAKER_04]: I just feel we're being told that she reads minds and that's that one of it is
39:58 --> 39:59 [SPEAKER_01]: No agree.
39:59 --> 40:00 [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see that later.
40:00 --> 40:03 [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, she still is very good at dodging that line.
40:03 --> 40:06 [SPEAKER_04]: I would say if it's anybody else, they would be dead by now.
40:06 --> 40:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Many, many other people have fallen to homeland or other people, or other soups.
40:13 --> 40:31 [SPEAKER_01]: That's what he's been able to navigate since the beginning, so yeah, I have to say as well Ashley has always been one of my favorites because of the lines that she does and I think in the press office She's she is asked by one of the reporters what about and the freedom camps and she's like well He doesn't like freedom and camp
40:31 --> 40:42 [SPEAKER_04]: That's obviously where I took my who doesn't like 50 inches on dynamite joke at the beginning as well, of course.
40:42 --> 40:48 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, great to see Kelly, if we back again for this season, she's been such a standard character since it's the very beginning.
40:48 --> 40:56 [SPEAKER_04]: We often compliment some of the actors who have stayed on board with our show, we've been podcasting for 11 years, who have Sabrina Guevara over on
40:56 --> 40:57 [SPEAKER_04]: Daredevil born again.
40:57 --> 41:09 [SPEAKER_04]: We love her because she's been with us since we covered Gotham back in the day Colby Minifey here Playing this role of Ashley has been with us since the first season of Jen Jessica Jones Which we covered on the defendist TV podcast and Aaron Mario.
41:09 --> 41:21 [SPEAKER_04]: She was also on that first season of the of Jessica Jones as well So at two actors who've been with us since the beginning or it's very early on in our podcasting as well So always great to get have great moments with character
41:21 --> 41:25 [SPEAKER_04]: And that's your seven-moment, I guess, for the, for the, for the vice president.
41:25 --> 41:25 [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent.
41:26 --> 41:26 [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent.
41:26 --> 41:33 [SPEAKER_04]: And one of the, at time you think I really like about that actually revealed that she's the vice president back in Gen V, the reveal that, um,
41:34 --> 41:36 [SPEAKER_04]: Sister Sage had become CEO Voss.
41:37 --> 41:42 [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody was wondering, oh, does that mean that she's dead because of the her ever shaking the company at the end of the boys?
41:42 --> 41:46 [SPEAKER_04]: So the reveal here is actually that she's moved up even further into this world.
41:46 --> 41:49 [SPEAKER_04]: She's gone past being the CEO of one company now she's the vice president of the country.
41:51 --> 41:52 [SPEAKER_04]: She keeps failing upwards.
41:52 --> 41:54 [SPEAKER_04]: I think this is the term we've talked about.
41:54 --> 41:56 [SPEAKER_01]: The term is failing upwards.
41:56 --> 42:02 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so she must be absolutely terrified now with the pair of the tinnitus hands as to what might happen if she does something wrong.
42:02 --> 42:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, the other threat from Sage is, you know, as quickly as we give, we can take away.
42:09 --> 42:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, so she knows that this is in some ways, certainly if it's not by her.
42:16 --> 42:17 [SPEAKER_01]: account, it's not sustainable.
42:18 --> 42:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, who knows which way the wind will blow because I think what we see in this episode is home and Really and being taken by the wind in multiple directions around his own very small ego.
42:30 --> 42:37 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, absolutely absolutely Yeah, and that's really my antagonist moment for the episode who's a bigger antagonist for the show who's in the home land roof, of course, so
42:37 --> 42:41 [SPEAKER_04]: has to be homelander because it is a bit of a switch for homelander.
42:42 --> 42:56 [SPEAKER_04]: A point that I really succinctly and really clearly from sage where he starts questioning her loyalty and says that Storm look, can I speak freely and he goes, you can try, her free thought to him is.
42:56 --> 43:00 [SPEAKER_04]: I did tell you no matter how much power you attained, it wouldn't be good enough for you.
43:00 --> 43:05 [SPEAKER_04]: So he's moved past, wanting power, and now wants people to love him.
43:05 --> 43:18 [SPEAKER_04]: This is really concerning for home lander because everywhere he goes, everybody around him is trying to please him, which is not that because they love him, it's because they're absolutely terrified of what he's going to do.
43:18 --> 43:19 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not just love him.
43:19 --> 43:23 [SPEAKER_01]: He says, I need people to be devoted to vote.
43:23 --> 43:44 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, this is also in a sense of that parallel with DC, the very classic image on the front of the comic cover of the Superman comics, but also in Zack Snyder's of the crucifix form of Superman.
43:44 --> 43:53 [SPEAKER_01]: He believes himself to be this cause and I think this again was lovely intense for me Thank you
43:55 --> 44:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, you think things are really beginning to slip, you know, are you still upset, he says to sage, after being dumped by a good talk in, you know, your mind's really there because you're massing all these different trinkets and things, you're being asked to provide advice to the Obama's and all these different people.
44:15 --> 44:23 [SPEAKER_01]: So he's only says that she's kind of quite happy and on the rise was he has got what he wants and still feels
44:23 --> 44:37 [SPEAKER_01]: some huge hole here, whether it's to do with Ryan and having left him, and you know, she's there to say, look, the story of Ryan being at boarding school in Svalbard is still something.
44:38 --> 44:43 [SPEAKER_01]: It's an island in the Arctic Ocean and sort of north of Russia and sort of Scandinavia.
44:43 --> 44:48 [SPEAKER_04]: So does this universe have like a lot of more just like where no, it's ice.
44:49 --> 44:50 [SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit right at the time.
44:50 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it has a huge like a seed bank.
44:55 --> 44:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Like a doomsday.
44:56 --> 44:57 [SPEAKER_01]: That's a big vulgar.
44:58 --> 44:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
44:58 --> 45:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But ultimately yes, it used to be covered in ice.
45:01 --> 45:05 [SPEAKER_04]: would it be a reference to the forces of solitude from Superman and maybe?
45:05 --> 45:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Is that what they're kind of saying that he's off there?
45:08 --> 45:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know?
45:09 --> 45:11 [SPEAKER_04]: But it's a really weird place to be going to college, but I said anyway.
45:12 --> 45:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just know there's no school there, I didn't think of it.
45:15 --> 45:16 [SPEAKER_04]: Not an R universe, maybe there.
45:16 --> 45:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think it's just school.
45:18 --> 45:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and...
45:19 --> 45:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I love the voice as he isn't winning hearts, you know, people still hate him.
45:24 --> 45:30 [SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the day, just by everything going on, they're all still starlighters.
45:30 --> 45:32 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and all the games on there.
45:32 --> 45:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen the memes about?
45:34 --> 45:36 [SPEAKER_01]: about me, I'm being humiliated.
45:37 --> 45:42 [SPEAKER_01]: They should all be back and you just have say, you're serious.
45:42 --> 45:50 [SPEAKER_01]: I do really like how his insecurities just fully evolve in front of Sage here in this moment.
45:50 --> 45:51 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, so good.
45:51 --> 45:55 [SPEAKER_04]: And it seems to be that Sage is the only one that can really temper herself.
45:55 --> 45:57 [SPEAKER_04]: She knows exactly how to.
45:57 --> 46:00 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, she thinks she knows how to act around home land.
46:00 --> 46:04 [SPEAKER_04]: I still think, you know, someone is going to kill saves in the future, and that's going to be home land.
46:05 --> 46:07 [SPEAKER_04]: But, um,
46:07 --> 46:34 [SPEAKER_04]: everybody else that's around him I love the makeup person when he's after the firecracker show she's literally just tapping on its face the makeup brush and he hears her heart and she's like I'm just excited to be at work and the next person comes up to give him his his coffee or his tea and goes it's room temperature just the way you like it and pushes it across and runs out of room and then he sees firecracker come in and hears her heart and goes it sounds like it's made up of ham and cigarettes
46:34 --> 46:44 [SPEAKER_04]: So just a note on that, that's because she was taking the drugs last season to give him lactation, lactation, lactated to milk, to make him happy.
46:44 --> 46:47 [SPEAKER_04]: And as she can't take it anymore because of killing.
46:47 --> 46:56 [SPEAKER_04]: There is a moment where you see a cross firecracker's mind, I think, that she may go back to doing that again, just to make him happy with the reculars or not.
46:56 --> 47:00 [SPEAKER_04]: And I feel that that's something that may be the way that
47:00 --> 47:02 [SPEAKER_04]: that firecrackers take an inch.
47:02 --> 47:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, yeah, absolutely.
47:04 --> 47:07 [SPEAKER_01]: You also see it with the deep and black noir.
47:07 --> 47:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I think we've been marched into home and as office where Gavin the stage manager is dead
47:15 --> 47:23 [SPEAKER_01]: he also betrays homelander because he won't send a comment or a meme that supported Starlight.
47:24 --> 47:26 [SPEAKER_01]: He's a traitor in plain sight.
47:26 --> 47:36 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that seemed like he was stretching for something because that was the guy that the firecrackers on stage, one of whom was Annie January who went down to release that flight 37 footage on stage when he was there embarrassing him.
47:36 --> 47:40 [SPEAKER_04]: So it looks like he just found something that he could justify taking the head of the stage manager.
47:40 --> 47:41 [SPEAKER_04]: It just took me a while.
47:41 --> 47:42 [SPEAKER_04]: It's not the second time.
47:42 --> 47:45 [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, oh, that's the same shirt that we
47:45 --> 47:50 [SPEAKER_01]: But it is also that he's saying, look, is a betrayer in plain sight?
47:50 --> 47:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Are you offended, because you've had a year now, and...
47:56 --> 48:01 [SPEAKER_01]: We don't have a train, we don't have star lights, we don't have Billy Butcher.
48:01 --> 48:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I love the fact that the deep tries to blame Black Noir, and it's called out on it.
48:06 --> 48:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
48:07 --> 48:12 [SPEAKER_01]: And afterwards, Black Noir then really does do the silent treatment on him, even though he can talk.
48:13 --> 48:14 [SPEAKER_01]: And you see, I was wondering about that.
48:14 --> 48:21 [SPEAKER_04]: I was wondering whether that was because of his fear of home lander, hearing him speak, because they're in the same building.
48:21 --> 48:23 [SPEAKER_04]: And he's supposed to keep up this
48:23 --> 48:25 [SPEAKER_04]: this cover that he can't speak at all.
48:26 --> 48:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted more of a petty thing that came in the deal because people have them on the during the podcast together where he's hitting the button to respond.
48:35 --> 48:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I do.
48:37 --> 48:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
48:39 --> 48:40 [SPEAKER_04]: That did make me laugh a lot.
48:40 --> 48:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
48:41 --> 48:43 [SPEAKER_01]: And but like it's home lander making a point.
48:44 --> 48:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
48:44 --> 48:46 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, you know,
48:46 --> 48:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Are you doing this on purpose as well?
48:49 --> 49:03 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's just, and we're Gavin with his head slicing arm is just, again, making that point because soon after you have the deep actually going to try and find a train again and his family Yeah, where he goes after them in, uh, pristinely in France.
49:04 --> 49:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
49:05 --> 49:05 [SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
49:05 --> 49:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I must say those real nice like kind of location, but won't be in that house when a massive storm comes to it or the tide comes in.
49:14 --> 49:20 [SPEAKER_04]: That doesn't even have to be a storm, it's like, yeah, do they walk around the kitchen in the water all the time, yeah.
49:20 --> 49:43 [SPEAKER_01]: the high tide it's like oh yeah so I mean I think yeah this is so nicely done and just reiterated in different ways throughout the whole of the show where it becomes increasingly apparent like his ego is so fragile his insecurities are so immense absolutely I mean even like with his son Ryan not
49:43 --> 49:44 [SPEAKER_01]: saying his name.
49:44 --> 49:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, he's like, say his name or end, and yeah, yeah.
49:47 --> 49:52 [SPEAKER_04]: I win the business at the beginning of a season with a character, like Ryan, because I remember what happened with my last season.
49:52 --> 49:56 [SPEAKER_04]: He killed Grace, Mallory by mistake when he last stage.
49:57 --> 50:03 [SPEAKER_04]: Because he felt he was being torn by both home under and Billy Bush should be used as a weapon by either side against the other one.
50:04 --> 50:06 [SPEAKER_04]: And then he disappeared or ran away.
50:06 --> 50:10 [SPEAKER_04]: And at least he didn't take any part in the final episode and the big.
50:10 --> 50:13 [SPEAKER_04]: final moment of season four.
50:14 --> 50:23 [SPEAKER_04]: So when you start this episode where homelanders talking about the way the press are talking about, I'm saying that they've said I've done something with my son and you're going, well, did he kill him?
50:23 --> 50:33 [SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm suspicious that maybe he might be what we'll find is Ryan Skeleton later on in the season and homelander hunted him down in the year since the last season, you know?
50:33 --> 50:34 [SPEAKER_04]: I hope not.
50:34 --> 50:39 [SPEAKER_04]: I hope Ryan has has a big moment in this season,
50:39 --> 50:47 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there was an element at one stage where you thought he was going to have a villain arc with being on sides with Oman does that.
50:47 --> 50:49 [SPEAKER_01]: But it kind of got tempered over the course of the last season.
50:49 --> 51:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So like I think you know, they're holding him back because it's like when it comes to the final battle Which side will he rush in to to help?
51:00 --> 51:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Will it be the boys?
51:02 --> 51:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Will it be the volt seven?
51:04 --> 51:05 [SPEAKER_01]: has to evolve.
51:05 --> 51:10 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it has to be grandfather versus father versus son or grandson.
51:11 --> 51:16 [SPEAKER_04]: And so it has to be an soldier boy versus homeland and and Ryan off to the side with his brand new name and his brand new super shoes.
51:16 --> 51:21 [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he'll be invincible or something like that, so maybe he'll grab the invincible suit.
51:22 --> 51:22 [SPEAKER_02]: That's not too cool.
51:22 --> 51:39 [SPEAKER_04]: And just what other thing about homeland is creeping madness in this episode, one thing I noticed when he was watching that footage with the head of Gavin beside him is that he started to say, look what the press are doing to me, look at the lies they're telling to me, and tips laugh at go, yeah, yeah, oh wait a minute.
51:39 --> 51:41 [SPEAKER_04]: he believes he didn't do this.
51:41 --> 51:46 [SPEAKER_04]: He's not believing this hype that it's an AI-generated video, even though he was there.
51:47 --> 51:51 [SPEAKER_04]: He's been trying to hide it for five, six years now at this stage from the public end to see it.
51:52 --> 51:52 [SPEAKER_04]: He knows it happened.
51:53 --> 51:57 [SPEAKER_01]: He's distorted his own reality with the lies that he's done.
51:57 --> 51:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean,
51:58 --> 52:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's like what's happening today, where it's just the opposite of what's happening or the way it's constructed and spawn and twisted.
52:07 --> 52:18 [SPEAKER_01]: So that it seems like it's someone else's fault, even though the primary incendiary kind of initiator is someone else's, it's like...
52:19 --> 52:29 [SPEAKER_01]: homeland lives in a consequence free environment the him he's peddled the lie so often it's become the truth and can't distinguish his role in it anymore.
52:29 --> 52:34 [SPEAKER_01]: That's the why things have happened and it's just really really interesting seeing the deep pick-up on that.
52:34 --> 52:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
52:35 --> 52:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Involtauer.
52:36 --> 52:37 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
52:37 --> 52:39 [SPEAKER_04]: That's kind of it for my antagonist moment.
52:40 --> 52:47 [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent homelander at wanting people to love him what a weird situation that we've got someone that says go round, murdering people, saying I just want you all to love me.
52:48 --> 52:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Why don't
52:49 --> 52:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely, but let's get on to our other outstanding moments.
52:53 --> 52:55 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I've got one really quick on.
52:56 --> 53:15 [SPEAKER_04]: It's just when we looked around the camp 47 and all the guards that are in there are all soups as well as you'd expect to put, and we had the soup that had broken out from Red River like back in Season 2, who's the one that's making people explode effectively.
53:15 --> 53:18 [SPEAKER_04]: They almost got killed in this episode, but I think they get away as well.
53:19 --> 53:26 [SPEAKER_04]: And we also have weirdly M.M's Nemesis Loves Usage in this episode.
53:27 --> 53:33 [SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, I couldn't be happier to have seen this character get killed in a set of such.
53:33 --> 53:38 [SPEAKER_04]: It was a good funny joke to begin with, but M.M.M.
53:38 --> 53:39 [SPEAKER_04]: is such a serious character.
53:40 --> 53:45 [SPEAKER_04]: The purpose back in the day was that he was so germphobic when we met him first.
53:45 --> 53:54 [SPEAKER_04]: He cleaned everything at all times to make sure he knew you were going to be drinking a toilet while.
53:54 --> 53:56 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yes, that's exactly.
53:56 --> 53:58 [SPEAKER_04]: villain to go up against.
54:00 --> 54:12 [SPEAKER_04]: Now it's just a walk on joke, but the fact that he strangles them to death with his own 15 inch slong is, he strangles those sloths with his, well,
54:12 --> 54:14 [SPEAKER_01]: is love sausage.
54:14 --> 54:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I love the fact that actually he's literally stabbed in the eye.
54:18 --> 54:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
54:18 --> 54:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
54:19 --> 54:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Just not, just a different eye.
54:22 --> 54:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Just a different eye.
54:23 --> 54:24 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, this was great.
54:24 --> 54:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad love sausage finally got cooked in that sense.
54:30 --> 54:33 [SPEAKER_01]: But I've always really enjoyed this diner.
54:33 --> 54:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Right.
54:34 --> 54:39 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was quite good that they played it out here because I just reckon
54:40 --> 55:02 [SPEAKER_01]: what's the humor will remain it will be a darker form of humor and i think you don't want in the midst of the final big battle you know at and in order right you they you've got a size love sausage fight going on yeah and we don't need that but i don't think you need that but it so it was good you know
55:02 --> 55:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Like he was beating him with his sausage, he was killing people, you know, and he knew that mother's milk was not a fan because he saw him watching and he beat him some more with his love sausage.
55:13 --> 55:13 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he did.
55:14 --> 55:14 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he did.
55:14 --> 55:17 [SPEAKER_04]: I am totally on the side of the mother's milk.
55:17 --> 55:18 [SPEAKER_04]: I just can't watch him anymore.
55:18 --> 55:19 [SPEAKER_04]: So he's gone.
55:19 --> 55:21 [SPEAKER_04]: That's my other eyed standing moment for the episode done.
55:22 --> 55:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Why about yourself?
55:22 --> 55:23 [SPEAKER_01]: What's your mind?
55:23 --> 55:25 [SPEAKER_01]: The word.
55:25 --> 55:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Day of May, the worm that turned, and what a leaf blower, that's all I can say, if you could buy the worm to come around in the autumn and just sort of, you know, fire away or even just like one of those chickens, it's like whatever goes in, you're conflying out like a chipper.
55:48 --> 55:53 [SPEAKER_01]: I think you should stand back and get out of the way and it's not soaking up all the leaves and the soil.
55:54 --> 55:57 [SPEAKER_01]: And it starts flying out of his rear end.
55:58 --> 56:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I love the fact that there's a little elephant sound effect in there as well.
56:05 --> 56:09 [SPEAKER_01]: I love the fact that he is eating soil like it's...
56:09 --> 56:15 [SPEAKER_01]: wine tasting, where he's like, oh, the high area, a soil, and that's so sweet.
56:15 --> 56:17 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, just down there Rochester.
56:17 --> 56:21 [SPEAKER_01]: And I just thought that was like, so good.
56:21 --> 56:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just the fact, like looking at Kamiko's face in the tunnel as he's squeezing back to get out and make sure he doesn't die.
56:30 --> 56:38 [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, can I put this in my reacher and TV script that I'm developing?
56:38 --> 57:05 [SPEAKER_04]: And he's like, I'll tell you that as a yes, yes, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
57:05 --> 57:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's been on the show before, but I mean, that's clearly Billy and him had some relationship there previously, but whether that was anything that was really, it's just like offscreen effectively that I just don't remember him as a character.
57:20 --> 57:22 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is him going all the way back to season one of the show.
57:23 --> 57:25 [SPEAKER_04]: There was the team of the boys that were around.
57:25 --> 57:31 [SPEAKER_04]: free the boy season one they used to have loads of adventures and that would have included French in NMM.
57:32 --> 57:34 [SPEAKER_04]: The worm would have been one of the contacts back then.
57:34 --> 57:40 [SPEAKER_04]: I was wondering was he someone that was connected with the legend who was their version of Stanley because he's a writer.
57:40 --> 57:43 [SPEAKER_04]: That's why I was thinking he was he was connected with him.
57:44 --> 57:48 [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, he is also the voice of our cryptic in this episode.
57:48 --> 57:54 [SPEAKER_04]: You mentioned the conversation that's going on when they're in the forest that can make us like you got them but you've got the worst voice
57:54 --> 58:00 [SPEAKER_04]: And that's the voice of air cryptic because of early air cryptic is really concerned about the final season of this show.
58:00 --> 58:06 [SPEAKER_04]: He wants to make everybody as happy as they can with the finale of the boys, but he knows it's impossible.
58:06 --> 58:12 [SPEAKER_04]: And we have the worm speaking that dialogue saying, you know, I was on the final season of my biggest show.
58:12 --> 58:16 [SPEAKER_04]: half people hate it, half people love it, can't, can't make anybody happy.
58:16 --> 58:22 [SPEAKER_04]: They've ever received the finale of Lost, what do you think of the finale of Lost, and that's what can we get out and decide up, and that's when they arrive, basically.
58:22 --> 58:26 [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, so I know Eric Riffke is doing his best.
58:26 --> 58:29 [SPEAKER_04]: So they were something that everybody will enjoy, but not everybody's going to enjoy it.
58:31 --> 58:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, yeah.
58:32 --> 58:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
58:33 --> 58:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Excellent stuff, any note, Derek?
58:35 --> 58:40 [SPEAKER_04]: I just want to mention that Sogeboy is being kept in homelanders office there.
58:40 --> 58:44 [SPEAKER_04]: He's been moved from the location he was in before, up into the office.
58:45 --> 58:48 [SPEAKER_04]: So I'm sure he'll be thought age pretty soon in the future.
58:49 --> 58:58 [SPEAKER_04]: One note I really liked in the episode was when they were discussing AI being used to fake the flight 37 details and they're talking about it on firecrackers show.
58:58 --> 59:00 [SPEAKER_04]: It's great because you have two people that have
59:00 --> 59:07 [SPEAKER_04]: no interest in technology at all, unless it benefits them, and in this case they're saying, well, technology is lying to the public.
59:08 --> 59:09 [SPEAKER_04]: So...
59:10 --> 59:15 [SPEAKER_04]: homelander saying, well, you can tell it's AI, because I have seven fingers in that and in real life, I don't have some fingers, do I?
59:16 --> 59:19 [SPEAKER_04]: And the firecracker turns around and he says, that's called the uncanny valley isn't it?
59:20 --> 59:29 [SPEAKER_04]: And you see the anger rising in homelander for being asked a question that he doesn't know the answer to, which I love great performance there from Anthony Star, as usual, Bush.
59:29 --> 59:31 [SPEAKER_04]: He goes.
59:31 --> 59:32 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes it is.
59:32 --> 59:38 [SPEAKER_04]: The uncanny valley is basically from CGI characters where you see their eyes and you know their eyes aren't human.
59:38 --> 59:40 [SPEAKER_04]: They look unnatural in some way.
59:40 --> 59:43 [SPEAKER_04]: It's not when seven fingers appear on some of them.
59:43 --> 59:47 [SPEAKER_04]: So I like that they're confidently talking ballics.
59:47 --> 59:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
59:48 --> 59:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, actually.
59:50 --> 59:52 [SPEAKER_04]: John, I know it's a result of the episode that we haven't mentioned before.
59:52 --> 01:00:03 [SPEAKER_01]: And just from the beginning with the shareholders' meeting or of force, whilst it was a shareholder meeting, it looked and sounded like a maga rally with all the red hats and so on.
01:00:03 --> 01:00:07 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a call back to the first, the opening of the first episode of the first season.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
01:00:08 --> 01:00:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I like here that Sister Sage has to temper home and it once,
01:00:14 --> 01:00:29 [SPEAKER_01]: the flight 37 footage is shown because he turns round back to the audience with his eyes glowing red as those about to laser the load of them so that there's no witnesses to this and put that
01:00:29 --> 01:00:38 [SPEAKER_01]: thankfully clear a head prevailed where they then start saying it's a deep AI fake and all this kind of stuff.
01:00:38 --> 01:00:49 [SPEAKER_01]: And then the final thing from this kind of little sequence is just we hear from home and saying that the leader of the joints chief of staff is general mayhem and it just
01:00:49 --> 01:01:05 [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, that sounds about right, I love that also mentioned in there is they have a new movie that's doing really well up 21% and revenue I'm called G-Men days passed from the future Which is an out to the X-Men days of future past and so yeah days passed from the future.
01:01:05 --> 01:01:07 [SPEAKER_04]: I really like that Excellent stuff.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:08 [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:13 [SPEAKER_04]: I guess for a chance about the first episode of the final season of the boys John overall.
01:01:13 --> 01:01:14 [SPEAKER_04]: How would you wrap that one up?
01:01:14 --> 01:01:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really, really enjoyed this.
01:01:16 --> 01:01:18 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it's ultimately at the heart of it.
01:01:18 --> 01:01:28 [SPEAKER_01]: It is a prison break and with a getting back to where all our favorite boys and both seven are up to.
01:01:29 --> 01:01:37 [SPEAKER_01]: But I think what really sets this apart is just seeing, you know, a year on homelanders,
01:01:37 --> 01:01:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Psychosis just is his own worst enemy.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:52 [SPEAKER_01]: It is that moment where when he says you promise me I would be Caesar And she said well, but his friends stabbed him in the back and this is what is happening now He can't trust anyone.
01:01:52 --> 01:01:54 [SPEAKER_01]: He's no trust in anyone.
01:01:54 --> 01:02:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because he's so brittle and so fractured and so in a sense
01:02:04 --> 01:02:05 [SPEAKER_01]: sensitive about it.
01:02:05 --> 01:02:13 [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the great part about A trains hero redemption moment right at the end, which I really loved seeing this.
01:02:14 --> 01:02:19 [SPEAKER_01]: For me, I would give this four and a half princely albutts out of five.
01:02:21 --> 01:02:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Because I just thought it was
01:02:22 --> 01:02:24 [SPEAKER_01]: really, really good.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I like there's the bit attention there between Huey and Starlight that's happened with the breakouts.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:35 [SPEAKER_01]: So I think, you know, this is really setting up quite nicely.
01:02:35 --> 01:02:38 [SPEAKER_01]: We've got the boys now out of prison, fun together again.
01:02:38 --> 01:02:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see where we go from here, but I think in particular how it drove
01:02:44 --> 01:03:00 [SPEAKER_01]: The psychosis of homeland, but also a fitting end for A-trium, glad he got his moment to save Huey save the girl from being run into by him, but at the cost to homeland at catching up to him where he speaks.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:08 [SPEAKER_01]: the home chose that he is weak, he's sniveling, he's ultimately nothing without the suit.
01:03:08 --> 01:03:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:03:09 --> 01:03:15 [SPEAKER_04]: And I also take that he has actually now saved his family because the deep tracked him down to France when he went to visit his family.
01:03:15 --> 01:03:24 [SPEAKER_04]: So now that he's put his family somewhere else and come over to back to the U.S. to help the boys, I take it that it's family and I say if they won't be able to be found there.
01:03:25 --> 01:03:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:03:25 --> 01:03:26 [SPEAKER_04]: I think so.
01:03:26 --> 01:03:30 [SPEAKER_04]: Or why would they
01:03:30 --> 01:03:37 [SPEAKER_01]: So another great opener here, also with the death of love sausage, the introduction of the worm, however briefly.
01:03:37 --> 01:03:50 [SPEAKER_04]: So four and a half, princely albutts out of five, fantastic, and I think we need to drink it, close that H, I think we need to go into pub, for our boys pub quiz, absolutely.
01:03:51 --> 01:03:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the pub quiz, fellow boys and girls, fellow quizzes, yes, it is the first
01:03:59 --> 01:04:01 [SPEAKER_01]: question pub quiz.
01:04:01 --> 01:04:06 [SPEAKER_01]: One for each episode of the fifth season of the boys as usual.
01:04:06 --> 01:04:19 [SPEAKER_01]: The question is what is the name of the cabin and the location were Starlight and Camico meet up with a train to ask him to be a part of the breakout and the question.
01:04:19 --> 01:04:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Any question?
01:04:20 --> 01:04:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, excellent.
01:04:21 --> 01:04:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Tell Jenny that the question we're doing?
01:04:22 --> 01:04:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, what is the name of the cabin and location where Starlight and Camico meet up with a train to ask him to be a part of the breakout.
01:04:32 --> 01:04:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Keep your eyes peeled in that scene.
01:04:35 --> 01:04:38 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, fellow quizzes and boys and girls.
01:04:38 --> 01:04:44 [SPEAKER_04]: you're wondering what the question is going to be because we've mentioned every single number or every single reference that we can think of.
01:04:44 --> 01:04:45 [SPEAKER_04]: So that's pretty good with John.
01:04:45 --> 01:04:47 [SPEAKER_04]: I like it.
01:04:47 --> 01:05:00 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, that's the first question of a, as John mentioned at the end of the season email is to feedback at tvpodcastindustries.com with your correct answers and your location as well, and you could be in with the chance of getting your hands on some boys season five.

01:05:44 --> 01:05:48 [SPEAKER_04]: I think there will be, yeah, yeah, Teenage Kicks is like the Teen Titans of the Boys Universe.
01:05:48 --> 01:05:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like that's what they have to name from.
01:05:50 --> 01:05:51 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
01:05:51 --> 01:05:52 [SPEAKER_05]: Good stuff.
01:05:52 --> 01:05:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, really looking forward to it.

01:06:14 --> 01:06:15 [SPEAKER_02]: Bye.
