Episode Synopsis:
A short while ago after flying back to LA to reignite his acting career, Trevor Slattery was instantly arrested by the Department of Damage control for his role as The Mandarin. Agent Cleary offers Trevor a way out of his return to prison if he brings evidence of the dangerous powers of Simon Williams.
Meanwhile following his audition for Von Kovak’s Wonder Man, his agent Jannelle calls him. The casting director for the movie wants to give him a shot in a smaller indie movie. It’s a bit part where he’ll play a waiter. All that’s needed is a quick self tape of his lines and he’s got the cameo.
This will be great for his career, but the pressure gets to Simon and his powers rise, exploding out like an earthquake inside his apartment. Unable to use his apartment for the self tape, Simon reaches out to Trevor for help.
After several more failed attempts Trevor brings him to his former co-star, Joe Pantaliano’s house as a favour. When Simon and Trevor clash with Joey Pants over his lack of respect for the art of acting they leave.
With a new respect between the two, Simon invites Trevor to his apartment, where they finally record the perfect self tape and submit it to his agent.
As Simon celebrates the successful submission Trevor finds the damage from his super powers but pretends it doesn’t phase him.

00:00 --> 00:06 [SPEAKER_06]: This is the Defenders podcast on TV podcast industries, and we're talking about Marvel's wound-aband.
00:06 --> 00:09 [SPEAKER_03]: Episode 2 Oh, what do you look at that?
00:09 --> 00:10 [SPEAKER_03]: Simon Williams.
00:11 --> 00:13 [SPEAKER_03]: He needs help with an audition once he needs to come over.
00:14 --> 00:14 [SPEAKER_03]: You see, my friend?
00:15 --> 00:16 [SPEAKER_03]: That is great, yes.
00:17 --> 00:18 [SPEAKER_03]: Why aren't you texting him back?
00:19 --> 00:22 [SPEAKER_03]: I won't want him to think I'm just sitting around all day waiting for someone to text me.
00:34 --> 00:41 [SPEAKER_03]: I think we've waited a long enough.
00:41 --> 00:43 [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have the load of trevists, not sure if you don't mind.
00:47 --> 00:47 [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
01:16 --> 01:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Welcome back fellow defenders fellow lovelies to TV podcast industries where you're listening to the defenders podcast.
01:26 --> 01:29 [SPEAKER_06]: We're chatting about Marvel's Wonderman episode two.
01:29 --> 01:31 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm one of your host John.
01:31 --> 01:33 [SPEAKER_06]: I am one of your host Derek.
01:37 --> 01:38 [SPEAKER_01]: And I am Chris.
01:38 --> 01:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to do as great as a pregnant paul as Travis Lattery.
01:42 --> 01:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I just wanted to really just be able to sit with it.
01:46 --> 01:50 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, because they can't think that you're sitting round all day just waiting to bugcasters.
01:50 --> 01:52 [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't know.
01:52 --> 01:54 [SPEAKER_01]: I am doing the, I will do the role of Chris.
01:55 --> 02:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So they will, they will shall be no more and no other than me than I.
02:02 --> 02:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, yo.
02:02 --> 02:03 [SPEAKER_06]: Very good.
02:04 --> 02:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent, yes.
02:04 --> 02:07 [SPEAKER_06]: I think the stage brackets, Chris.
02:07 --> 02:07 [SPEAKER_06]: The stage.
02:07 --> 02:08 [SPEAKER_06]: The brackets.
02:09 --> 02:10 [SPEAKER_06]: The abby theatre.
02:11 --> 02:14 [SPEAKER_01]: It beckons me forward into the stage door hole.
02:14 --> 02:15 [SPEAKER_01]: That's just the trap door.
02:16 --> 02:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
02:16 --> 02:18 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, come forward.
02:18 --> 02:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Come forward.
02:18 --> 02:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Indeed.
02:19 --> 02:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Actually, again, I'm already interesting snippet here when he's showing the pictures of him and his mother on the plane.
02:27 --> 02:31 [SPEAKER_06]: And that outside the rural cult theatre,
02:31 --> 02:32 [SPEAKER_06]: I recognize this.
02:33 --> 02:34 [SPEAKER_06]: I've been there many times.
02:34 --> 02:35 [SPEAKER_06]: Of course, yes, yes.
02:36 --> 02:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Right-basic John's tower.
02:38 --> 02:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
02:38 --> 02:39 [SPEAKER_06]: So, yes.
02:40 --> 02:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Again, another little snippet there.
02:41 --> 02:46 [SPEAKER_06]: You wonder, are they sort of banking these picks?
02:47 --> 02:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Who knows?
02:47 --> 02:49 [SPEAKER_05]: This is actual mother in the photograph maybe?
02:49 --> 02:50 [SPEAKER_06]: Who knows?
02:50 --> 02:50 [SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
02:50 --> 02:54 [SPEAKER_06]: So again, I think we should get into our spoiler field description.
02:54 --> 02:55 [SPEAKER_06]: I think we should, yeah, absolutely.
02:55 --> 02:56 [SPEAKER_06]: And second upset.
02:56 --> 03:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Indeed, but I guess before we do that, as always, remember fellow defenders you can head on over to our website at tvpodcastindustries.com, where you can subscribe to the podcast on any good or evil podcasts catcher of your choice.
03:15 --> 03:20 [SPEAKER_06]: You can also send in your feedback to
03:20 --> 03:30 [SPEAKER_06]: And of course, we're over on Facebook with our group at Facebook.com for slash groups forward slash TV podcast industry.
03:30 --> 03:30 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
03:30 --> 03:33 [SPEAKER_05]: So excited to hear the thoughts of our fellow defenders on these shows.
03:34 --> 03:42 [SPEAKER_05]: We are recording these with a little bit early, so we have no idea what anybody thinks of these episodes, so we just have to go by ourselves and we're really enjoying them.
03:42 --> 03:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
03:42 --> 03:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
03:42 --> 03:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
03:43 --> 03:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Loving it like that.
03:45 --> 04:02 [SPEAKER_01]: I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it
04:02 --> 04:14 [SPEAKER_05]: Now, like I told you before, there is a trick that John's family taught me to get the axon, which is the chicken's shotgun, and if he takes the chicken's shotgun, the chicken's affin's shotgun, I guess.
04:15 --> 04:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
04:16 --> 04:21 [SPEAKER_05]: If you get all three of those to rhyme together, then you can be taken into a family and Liverpool.
04:21 --> 04:45 [SPEAKER_05]: But let's get into this second episode of the show exactly for this series, our Kevin Faggy Stephen Brasson, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis Dispsies, Brad Wendabam, Descent Donald Cretten and Andrew Guest of course, the show was created for television by Descent Downing Cretten and Andrew Guest, and the episode again written by Andrew Guest, and directed by Descent Daniel Cretten.
04:45 --> 04:51 [SPEAKER_05]: John, do you want to tell us what they gave us with your synopsis for the second episode of Marvel's Wonder Man?
04:51 --> 05:03 [SPEAKER_06]: A short while ago, after flying back to L.A. to reignite his acting career, Trevor Slastery was instantly arrested by the Department of Damage Control for his role as the Mandarin.
05:03 --> 05:12 [SPEAKER_06]: Agent Cleary offers Trevor a way out of his return to prison if he brings evidence of the dangerous powers of Simon Williams.
05:13 --> 05:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Meanwhile, following his audition full von Covax Wonderman, his agent Chanel calls him.
05:18 --> 05:22 [SPEAKER_06]: The casting director for the movie wants to give him a shot in a smaller indie movie.
05:23 --> 05:25 [SPEAKER_06]: It's a bit part where he'll play a waiter.
05:25 --> 05:30 [SPEAKER_06]: All that's needed is a quick self-tape of his lines and he's got the cameo.
05:30 --> 05:35 [SPEAKER_06]: This will be great for his career, but the pressure gets to Simon and his powers rise.
05:36 --> 05:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Exploding out like an earthquake inside his apartment, unable to use his apartment for the self-tape, Simon reaches out to Trevor for help.
05:49 --> 05:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Trevor brings him to his former co-star Joe Panceliano's house as a favour.
05:54 --> 06:00 [SPEAKER_06]: When Simon and Trevor clash with Joey Pants over his lack of respect for the art of acting, they leave.
06:00 --> 06:01 [SPEAKER_06]: dramatically.
06:02 --> 06:10 [SPEAKER_06]: With a new respect between the two Simon invites Trevor to his apartment, where they finally record the perfect self-tape and submit it to his agent.
06:11 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_06]: Simon celebrates a successful submission, Trevor finds the damage from his superpowers, but pretends it doesn't face him.
06:21 --> 06:23 [SPEAKER_06]: I think Simon celebrates by going to the loop.
06:23 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_05]: He's interesting.
06:24 --> 06:25 [SPEAKER_05]: He goes for a share.
06:25 --> 06:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
06:25 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_05]: He says he's completely worn out and needs some food.
06:30 --> 06:30 [SPEAKER_05]: Yep.
06:30 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_05]: That's his version of celebrate.
06:31 --> 06:31 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
06:31 --> 06:32 [SPEAKER_05]: And they get a pizza.
06:32 --> 06:32 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
06:33 --> 06:34 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
06:35 --> 06:36 [SPEAKER_05]: I have to say straight off the top.
06:36 --> 06:39 [SPEAKER_05]: I think this is an even funnier episode than the first one.
06:39 --> 06:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
06:39 --> 06:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Lots of satire here.
06:40 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
06:42 --> 06:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
06:42 --> 06:47 [SPEAKER_05]: And well done for Joey Pants for him for taking the piss out of himself in the way he does in this episode.
06:47 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_05]: It's really, really good.
06:49 --> 07:02 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and I mean, Ryzer off the bat, you know, um, the Trevor on the plane with the lady next room in the seat, you know, talks about South Shore hospital and uh, Joey Pancelliano as well.
07:02 --> 07:05 [SPEAKER_06]: So, yeah, it's there in the mind to this.
07:05 --> 07:09 [SPEAKER_06]: And because she recognizes him from that magical drama.
07:09 --> 07:12 [SPEAKER_06]: I guess a bit like ER or something like this.
07:12 --> 07:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
07:13 --> 07:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, absolutely.
07:14 --> 07:15 [SPEAKER_01]: casualty in the UK.
07:15 --> 07:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh, casualty in the UK, indeed.
07:19 --> 07:28 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, I love this progression of how and Earth are we going to get the audition tape done effectively.
07:29 --> 07:34 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just a love how it moves through multiple locations and it
07:34 --> 07:41 [SPEAKER_06]: all the while you have Janelle, sort of, you know, wondering where the hell this short tape is?
07:41 --> 07:51 [SPEAKER_06]: A little dish and tape is, you know, anyway, but let us get into our top three moments before I ramble on about the entire episode and spoil everything from my co-hosts.
07:52 --> 07:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Shall we pick it?
07:54 --> 07:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Quite on set.
07:54 --> 07:57 [SPEAKER_06]: Take one action.
07:58 --> 08:01 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it is Agent Cleary.
08:01 --> 08:02 [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes.
08:02 --> 08:05 [SPEAKER_05]: A recurring part of Damage Control.
08:05 --> 08:05 [SPEAKER_04]: That's good.
08:05 --> 08:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, great to see Agent Cleary back here.
08:08 --> 08:14 [SPEAKER_05]: And Damage Control, they've played a big role in the MCU, although back to Spider-Man Homecoming.
08:14 --> 08:15 [SPEAKER_05]: That's the one with Michael Keaton, isn't it?
08:16 --> 08:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Where he's trying to gather together all the stuff left behind after the Battle of New York and his crew are taken off the project by the Department of Damage Control.
08:24 --> 08:28 [SPEAKER_05]: So they've been in the background always a bit nefarious,
08:28 --> 08:30 [SPEAKER_05]: interesting motives and going on.
08:31 --> 08:40 [SPEAKER_05]: We had Agent Cleary appear in, it's by the man far from home, this character, from damage control and then he also made it a kind of a guest appearance in Miss Marvel.
08:40 --> 08:51 [SPEAKER_05]: I was rewatching that a couple of weeks ago just to kind of find out if I, because I couldn't remember exactly what their role in that was and it's very similar to the role he has here in Wonderman.
08:51 --> 09:01 [SPEAKER_05]: damage controller after Simon Williams because he's got powers in Miss Marvel, damage control are after the powered person that they've seen in turns out to be Miss Marvel.
09:01 --> 09:07 [SPEAKER_05]: So, and so again, they are in the background following and trying to find people who've got super powers.
09:07 --> 09:10 [SPEAKER_05]: So, kind of cool that that's continued on here with this character.
09:11 --> 09:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's an interesting, it's an interesting piece and kind of evolution of what damage control are as a departmenters in to come books and then in the show because they started as in the come books they're really just a construction type of things they look after and clean up.
09:29 --> 09:33 [SPEAKER_01]: a lot of basically the damage done by super heroism super villains.
09:34 --> 09:57 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and in the comics, they were actually a comedy comic, yeah, which I think didn't DC do a TV show based on something similar, and wherever we're supposed to be doing a damage control, the TV shows that all got cancelled through and I had to end up as, well, the DC TV show lasted about six episodes, I think, as far as I remember, and so they went, oh there's no point, not doing one of those, but yeah, they've kind of have, have,
09:57 --> 10:09 [SPEAKER_01]: I place here in the universe over the last several years, and they're turning them into an almost pseudo shield in a world where shield is no more.
10:09 --> 10:14 [SPEAKER_01]: There is no shield for homeland security or anything like that in the MCU.
10:14 --> 10:25 [SPEAKER_01]: So this seems to be their kind of defacto there there, protecting the the the the US citizens from the scourge that is powered
10:25 --> 10:40 [SPEAKER_06]: or non-powered individuals like Travis Fastery who is literally whisked off his feet before he's only just put his little dainty feet down onto U.S. soil arriving back in the USA.
10:40 --> 10:45 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely love the timing of the scene as he's talking to the passenger that's saying beside him.
10:45 --> 10:50 [SPEAKER_05]: And he's saying, you know, it's time for me to come back to LA where it should be my home.
10:50 --> 10:59 [SPEAKER_05]: and here it make my mark again and in the background you can see the guy's circling and ranting on him and just taking him down like lying on a gazelle.
11:00 --> 11:12 [SPEAKER_06]: It was really good and I mean it's even like afterwards as Agent Cleary is kind of giving him his two options and the showing Trevor footage of the the manager in him as the manager in.
11:12 --> 11:13 [SPEAKER_06]: He's just the game.
11:14 --> 11:15 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just acting.
11:15 --> 11:16 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just acting.
11:17 --> 11:21 [SPEAKER_06]: It's like you can see the frustration in Agent Cleary.
11:21 --> 11:24 [SPEAKER_06]: But here we see this is the man who was on the other end of the phone.
11:26 --> 11:30 [SPEAKER_06]: Of those two options, Trevor, very quickly.
11:30 --> 11:46 [SPEAKER_06]: takes up the one to work for damage control and to sort of effectively scout and and tail Simon Williams to understand his true power set rather than go back to prison.
11:46 --> 11:51 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, well, she believes he has done his time and yes, I think so.
11:51 --> 12:06 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's that's connected to the to the one Shush where he's broken out of prison by the management or Shunche's father I'm brought over to to his compend and then he was in Tailo so that's where he's coming back from I guess on the flight He hasn't been doing anything other than
12:06 --> 12:10 [SPEAKER_05]: staying in that area, and that decides maybe it's time to resurrect my career.
12:11 --> 12:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Not realizing that, yeah, it's still illegal to be in the country you impersonated a terrorist.
12:15 --> 12:21 [SPEAKER_05]: But I do like when they go through the clips, they show them pulling the trigger on one of the hostages, right?
12:22 --> 12:26 [SPEAKER_05]: On screen, we never get to see what happens, but on screen he's supposed to be killing.
12:26 --> 12:28 [SPEAKER_05]: the hostage in front of him.
12:28 --> 12:29 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
12:29 --> 12:29 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
12:29 --> 12:32 [SPEAKER_05]: So he's pretending that that's all just that.
12:32 --> 12:33 [SPEAKER_05]: That's all just I think.
12:33 --> 12:39 [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, that's seen where everybody sees that on screen and sees him killing somebody, right?
12:39 --> 12:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly.
12:39 --> 12:40 [SPEAKER_05]: I remember.
12:40 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah.
12:42 --> 12:44 [SPEAKER_05]: but what a great opening sequence.
12:44 --> 12:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, really good.
12:45 --> 12:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Also, I think just the fact that, you know, the passenger who is talking to throughout the flight and as they're walking through the airport, basically drops in like a sack of spuds.
12:57 --> 12:59 [SPEAKER_06]: No, I'm not with him at all.
12:59 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_06]: That's the FBI surround him, so yeah, it's just a nice, nice man.
13:03 --> 13:10 [SPEAKER_01]: I do like the way that Agent Cleary comes across in this, which is just that kind of by the book most get it done.
13:11 --> 13:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Definitely.
13:12 --> 13:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of not apart.
13:15 --> 13:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Like within the course of this episode, you just get a sense of like we don't like this character, you're not supposed to like this character.
13:22 --> 13:25 [SPEAKER_01]: He's not he's supposed to be the bad.
13:25 --> 13:31 [SPEAKER_01]: But the bad police, the bad kind of epiagent, the bad agent.
13:31 --> 13:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's kind of, it's, it's the good cop bad cop, but in this, I think, on the tones of situational comedy, it is the straight man to the buffoon, or, oh yes, Trevor Slastery.
13:45 --> 13:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
13:45 --> 13:49 [SPEAKER_06]: And that's what makes, in a sense, his,
13:49 --> 13:51 [SPEAKER_06]: is letting out of the facts.
13:51 --> 13:51 [SPEAKER_06]: That's what I mean.
13:52 --> 13:56 [SPEAKER_06]: The scene that they're showing him is really, really shocking.
13:56 --> 14:01 [SPEAKER_06]: It's a gun to the head, an execution, and then you have Trevor coming in.
14:02 --> 14:03 [SPEAKER_06]: But it's just acting.
14:03 --> 14:04 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just acting though.
14:05 --> 14:09 [SPEAKER_06]: And it kind of, that contrast, that sort of...
14:10 --> 14:14 [SPEAKER_06]: just is it's really sort of interesting to take it is.
14:14 --> 14:20 [SPEAKER_05]: And I guess the other thing with Agent Clarius, he knows that some Williams has powers for some reason.
14:21 --> 14:28 [SPEAKER_05]: And the fact that he has to use Trevor Slashery to guess the full,
14:28 --> 14:46 [SPEAKER_05]: incriminating evidence on some Williams is really pissing him off like that's the problem here right he he knows in his heart of hearts Simon Williams is one of those dangerous heroes that dangerous super parod beings and he wants him in custody but it just doesn't have the evidence and he has to use Trevor's average to do it.
14:46 --> 14:54 [SPEAKER_05]: there's a great moment when they're sitting in the booth and talking about this where he's like, I don't think we should have had to go for this whole audition.
14:54 --> 14:55 [SPEAKER_05]: We should have been happy with Megan 3.0.
14:56 --> 15:02 [SPEAKER_05]: Simon would have gone for that, and Trevor's like, look, I'm telling it, we went the right way here.
15:02 --> 15:07 [SPEAKER_05]: And then they have that whole conversation about Trevor playing the role of Trevor Slatterian knowing how to play it.
15:07 --> 15:09 [SPEAKER_05]: This guy should not interfere in this role for him.
15:10 --> 15:14 [SPEAKER_05]: He will do everything and he will get Simon Williams for Agent Cleary.
15:14 --> 15:18 [SPEAKER_05]: But don't interfere with the process of, you don't know anything about Hollywood.
15:18 --> 15:18 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
15:19 --> 15:21 [SPEAKER_06]: And so it's really good.
15:21 --> 15:26 [SPEAKER_06]: And I think moving on to our second moment.
15:26 --> 15:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Take two.
15:27 --> 15:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Action.
15:29 --> 15:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's basically Simon's self-tape, there's audition tape here, and you know, it's kind of kicked off with Janell calling him annoyed that he's basically used to contact, but he has this opportunity now after the audition for Wonderman, you know, to do this audition tape.
15:53 --> 15:55 [SPEAKER_06]: So, you know,
15:55 --> 16:00 [SPEAKER_06]: he starts to immediately overthink what he needs to do.
16:00 --> 16:13 [SPEAKER_06]: original is kind of like just a few minutes to camera and the one that you've done previously and Bishbash Bosch send it on and I'll get it over so that you can be in this kind of indie.
16:13 --> 16:31 [SPEAKER_06]: small flick so it just shows from what you can do and so on and immediately starts with it overthink the audition you know he's looking to redo it again and again and for that lead casting agent and again get stressed
16:31 --> 16:37 [SPEAKER_06]: high-prevent rates and again you just see the eyes changing and this kind of power blast.
16:37 --> 16:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
16:39 --> 16:42 [SPEAKER_06]: Again, I really like the eyes.
16:42 --> 16:48 [SPEAKER_06]: I think this is a really nice little touch, really subtle and I don't know what it is.
16:48 --> 17:02 [SPEAKER_06]: I think because it's red, purple, purpley blue, there is a menace to it, which really comes across and yet, Simon Williams is such a great down to earth kind of a guy.
17:02 --> 17:04 [SPEAKER_06]: Like in that sense, yeah.
17:04 --> 17:06 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, so I really really enjoy it.
17:07 --> 17:13 [SPEAKER_06]: It just adds a little bit of danger here and suggests something,
17:13 --> 17:16 [SPEAKER_06]: And harmless.
17:17 --> 17:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, absolutely what Simon is.
17:19 --> 17:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and then, and in this episode, is directly connected to Simon losing control and blowing at the window of his apartment.
17:25 --> 17:31 [SPEAKER_05]: The Carol Arms going off outside, all of that stuff is all caused by Simon losing control whereas last episode.
17:31 --> 17:54 [SPEAKER_05]: You're made to think maybe there is an earthquake going on because we know the show obviously We would expect that it's it's connected to Simon's Paris, but there's no doubt here This is Simon's Paris the cost of the things great is that I also love Janelle in this episode it made it did make me think that she's the one that proposed that Simon do a small indie flick with them before They committed to giving him the role
17:54 --> 18:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Wonderman and because she's so pissed off with him for using her contacts That's that's what I kind of felt.
18:00 --> 18:09 [SPEAKER_05]: I love where she's on the back of the golf car going through the sets Going through the back loss of of the of the studio and she's saying to Simon of where is the tape?
18:10 --> 18:13 [SPEAKER_05]: All I want you to do is be normal
18:13 --> 18:18 [SPEAKER_05]: Go methods, be a normal person, record your line, and get the bloody tape over to me now.
18:19 --> 18:19 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
18:19 --> 18:20 [SPEAKER_05]: I love this.
18:20 --> 18:20 [SPEAKER_06]: It's great.
18:20 --> 18:25 [SPEAKER_06]: But obviously, he needs help and text, Trevor.
18:25 --> 18:33 [SPEAKER_01]: So I suppose for me, it brings up what you see in the explosion, the loss of control.
18:34 --> 18:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
18:34 --> 18:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It does make you wonder,
18:36 --> 18:40 [SPEAKER_01]: What does damage control have something here?
18:40 --> 18:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Like was there like did he cause an accident?
18:45 --> 18:55 [SPEAKER_01]: And in something and like our people did because like it does make you go, mmm, is there something here to worry more about?
18:55 --> 18:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Or is it just kind of that kind of
18:58 --> 19:03 [SPEAKER_01]: governmental, scare tactic, like, so they don't understand, so therefore it must be bad.
19:04 --> 19:07 [SPEAKER_01]: And is he just being persecuted because he has powers?
19:07 --> 19:10 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I mean it's interesting with the flashback, I think.
19:10 --> 19:17 [SPEAKER_06]: in the first episode to his dad, like, and then you don't get the sense of his family around, you know?
19:17 --> 19:18 [SPEAKER_06]: Yep.
19:19 --> 19:24 [SPEAKER_06]: In his life, any more, for one reason or another, is it connected to the power?
19:24 --> 19:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Is that why damage control?
19:26 --> 19:28 [SPEAKER_06]: So I guess it would be interesting to see.
19:28 --> 19:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:29 --> 19:35 [SPEAKER_01]: So in the comic books, Simon Williams and his brother are kind of both super parallel to individuals.
19:36 --> 19:40 [SPEAKER_01]: And they were experiment well Simon was a experimenter on this father.
19:41 --> 19:46 [SPEAKER_01]: So when we saw him in the first episode of my cool, maybe they lean into that in the future.
19:47 --> 19:49 [SPEAKER_01]: It will be interesting to see.
19:49 --> 20:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I suppose this being the satirical, situational comedy, drama we were getting in this kind of within these first episodes.
20:00 --> 20:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm interested to see how much they do explore.
20:04 --> 20:06 [SPEAKER_01]: all of the power parts.
20:06 --> 20:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
20:06 --> 20:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's not kind of like, is this just, is this, the studio in the M.C.
20:12 --> 20:21 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I lean to the studio because it's the most, the most direct comparison because it is similar, but is this just a,
20:21 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_01]: situational comedy, dramedy in the MCU and because it's in me there's a sprinkling of powers or people who there's a connection there or is there going to be more widely connected?
20:36 --> 20:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
20:36 --> 20:38 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm leaning towards based on the end.
20:38 --> 20:39 [SPEAKER_01]: this episode.
20:40 --> 20:47 [SPEAKER_01]: It's more I think it's just going to be a focus on that situation, it's that focus on the story of Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery.
20:48 --> 20:53 [SPEAKER_01]: And because it's these two characters, that's all you need.
20:54 --> 21:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Because no offense, if it was someone not like Trevor Slattery and
21:03 --> 21:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you could pull that off.
21:06 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_01]: But these two characters and two actors are so... Well, okay.
21:11 --> 21:15 [SPEAKER_01]: So being seeing the true scenery when he is Trevor Sattery.
21:15 --> 21:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
21:16 --> 21:18 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, you're like perfect.
21:18 --> 21:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It just brings you in and along with it.
21:20 --> 21:24 [SPEAKER_01]: And I think the more we get these two characters putting open.
21:24 --> 21:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
21:25 --> 21:40 [SPEAKER_01]: like like we do as the audition tape comes along you're like oh okay I could just sit and watch this from multiple episodes I think that's where you start to go oh okay bring me with you tell me how you're gonna get this this audition tape done.
21:40 --> 21:51 [SPEAKER_05]: I think for every season of TV for the last 20 years every single season has had a new show about Hollywood whether it be a massive drama or
21:51 --> 21:55 [SPEAKER_05]: the satirizing Hollywood there's always been then you show about this over and over again.
21:56 --> 22:01 [SPEAKER_05]: They always say to writers right what you know and after a while I live in Hollywood, all you know is the process of making movies, right?
22:01 --> 22:02 [SPEAKER_05]: So that's kind of it.
22:02 --> 22:09 [SPEAKER_05]: It seems like your bereft of creativity when the only thing you can come up with is writing about going to the audition process, right?
22:09 --> 22:10 [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah.
22:10 --> 22:18 [SPEAKER_05]: So, they have to wade through a lot of different versions of this story, and I think, yeah, you're absolutely right, Chris, the thing they have in the back pocket here is having, you have a building, and I'm Serban Kings, the in these two roles, just going up against each other through it, the episode, that's their special sauce that they have.
22:19 --> 22:31 [SPEAKER_05]: But I will also say with Justin Daniel Cretten, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know
22:31 --> 22:38 [SPEAKER_05]: behind the show, I suspect that we will see a lot of things from the comic just not directly from the page to the screen.
22:39 --> 22:43 [SPEAKER_05]: I think by the end of the series, we're going to actually have a lot of things that are very similar to the comic book.
22:43 --> 22:55 [SPEAKER_05]: But his story at the beginning here is nothing like the character of Wonderman, the original creation of Wonderman Weirdly, he was created by Baron Zemo and the villain to fight against the Avengers and then join the Avengers.
22:55 --> 23:01 [SPEAKER_05]: Like that is nothing like anything we've seen on screen in these first two episodes.
23:01 --> 23:11 [SPEAKER_05]: by the end of the season, but it's really interesting what they may pull from different sources and doesn't even grab as well known as being a very well-versed comic book fan.
23:11 --> 23:22 [SPEAKER_05]: And so, like he did with Chongqing, by the end of Chongqing, you actually did have quite a good origin story of the character, but you were dropped in right in the middle of his tail, so we might get something very similar for Wonderland by the end of it.
23:22 --> 23:28 [SPEAKER_05]: But you're telling your right Chris, I think these scenes where Trevor's helping at Simon Threat, their episode are just really, really fun and they get...
23:28 --> 23:29 [SPEAKER_05]: worse and worse.
23:29 --> 23:38 [SPEAKER_05]: So, cos I'm from that first moment where Simon reaches out to Trevor by text to get him to help him out with his opportunity here.
23:39 --> 23:39 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
23:39 --> 23:44 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I mean, I just think this is really iconic kind of scene actually.
23:44 --> 23:54 [SPEAKER_06]: I know you've talked about it already, but you know, with the I'll do Trevor Slastery thing, but I think there's more to it than I think you see Trevor
23:54 --> 23:59 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, he says, he puts his book down, he's talking to himself, he's going through this whole thing.
23:59 --> 24:08 [SPEAKER_06]: And it's like, you know, with Agent Clear is going to ever ever more impatient with the whole thing wanting to respond.
24:08 --> 24:11 [SPEAKER_06]: And he kind of says, we'll just say, you know, you'll see you in 20.
24:11 --> 24:15 [SPEAKER_06]: And he's like, I'd never text a sentence.
24:15 --> 24:23 [SPEAKER_06]: And it is just to your point Chris around, it's just pure scenery chewing, but so so good.
24:23 --> 24:31 [SPEAKER_06]: And in this moment between Trevor Slastery and an Asian clearly that
24:31 --> 24:34 [SPEAKER_06]: you know, the straight cop goofy cop.
24:34 --> 24:38 [SPEAKER_06]: It just absolutely comes through wonderfully in that scene.
24:39 --> 24:44 [SPEAKER_06]: And it's really also quite downplayed, but there's some real, like, great moments in that.
24:45 --> 24:49 [SPEAKER_06]: But ultimately, he does, and Trevor goes over to help.
24:50 --> 24:58 [SPEAKER_06]: But, again, is kind of left wondering what's happening and amaze it,
24:59 --> 25:03 [SPEAKER_06]: they're not going to do it in Simon's apartment because of what's just happened.
25:03 --> 25:08 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the mission that Cleary gave him was to push a ring on Simon's computer.
25:08 --> 25:13 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and get all of the data that he needs at a Simon's computer and then get there.
25:13 --> 25:16 [SPEAKER_05]: Simon walks him off and takes him down to self-tape shop.
25:16 --> 25:18 [SPEAKER_05]: He talks to Cleary and Cleary.
25:18 --> 25:21 [SPEAKER_05]: He's like, how did you mess this whole thing up instantly?
25:21 --> 25:21 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you know.
25:22 --> 25:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, he just wants this done.
25:23 --> 25:25 [SPEAKER_05]: He thinks this is going to be an afternoon and then it's all over report.
25:25 --> 25:39 [SPEAKER_06]: Well, and Trevor's just kind of amusing on how tragic the industry has changed as everything to self-tape, not a taped audition, just like it's really nice.
25:39 --> 25:48 [SPEAKER_06]: I kind of like this interplay, but yeah, it kind of doesn't work at this kind of higher.
25:48 --> 26:03 [SPEAKER_05]: higher a self-tape process of the wonderful mercy who when you sign the document she has to read the lines off screen you can't bring anybody else into the lines for you because she's also a struggling actress who wants to get a roll of course of course she would pick
26:03 --> 26:04 [SPEAKER_05]: I love this stuff.
26:04 --> 26:19 [SPEAKER_05]: I really enjoy a little of, you know, even the initial ones where we had a Abdul Mithin doing the lines to himself on screen, and he's recording them multiple times over and over again, trying to get the timing right against himself and all these two things is saying, what's it?
26:19 --> 26:20 [SPEAKER_05]: One line?
26:20 --> 26:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
26:20 --> 26:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Can I take your order, please?
26:22 --> 26:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Isn't it exactly the line he's trying to get to you, right?
26:25 --> 26:26 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely brilliant.
26:26 --> 26:32 [SPEAKER_05]: But as they talk through it, through it,
26:32 --> 26:38 [SPEAKER_05]: helping him get into the mindset of this waiter, you know, as they're, as they're some
26:38 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_05]: connection between him and the other character that's in this scene, how are they going to work it out together?
26:44 --> 26:50 [SPEAKER_05]: So he does really indulge Simon Williams in this method that he has.
26:50 --> 26:51 [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely.
26:51 --> 26:51 [SPEAKER_06]: Definitely.
26:51 --> 27:03 [SPEAKER_06]: And I think none more so I really enjoy it when it kind of completely fails at the higher a self-tape sort of building and company.
27:03 --> 27:27 [SPEAKER_06]: The indulgeman is that they go back to Trevor's apartment and I love here how Simon Williams eyes So just like light up, it's kind of like in at the start of Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost dark ways He's got the the golden thing is like, oh yeah, yeah, like because he there's all these books these photos All of this is kind of like in Aladdin's cave really and it's just
27:27 --> 27:28 [SPEAKER_06]: so so good.
27:28 --> 27:40 [SPEAKER_06]: And there's a one moment as well because it's just it just brings me back to various things like where he talks about coronation streets.
27:40 --> 27:48 [SPEAKER_06]: He's like, and if one did this stint and famously in McCallan did it kind of recently.
27:48 --> 27:50 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, what do you plan for the rings,
27:50 --> 27:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, post loads of the rings.
27:52 --> 27:56 [SPEAKER_06]: But also then Ben Kingsley did it in 1966.
27:56 --> 27:58 [SPEAKER_06]: He was on Kari.
27:58 --> 28:02 [SPEAKER_06]: He started off, you know, as well on the TV front in Kari.
28:02 --> 28:12 [SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, my favorite touch about this scene is where Simon Williams is telling on the page about the movie Turtle Diary that Trevor did with Land of Jackson.
28:12 --> 28:15 [SPEAKER_05]: And that by finding the turtles and freeing them, they freed themselves.
28:16 --> 28:17 [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm Trevor Sally's going,
28:17 --> 28:19 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, how did I never get that until now?
28:20 --> 28:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Ben Kingsley was in the movie Turtle Dairy with the Dark Side in 1994, so.
28:25 --> 28:30 [SPEAKER_05]: Again, lovely little touches that they throw again of real appearances by this character.
28:30 --> 28:35 [SPEAKER_05]: I'd also love the other tale that we get this episode where Trevor,
28:35 --> 28:49 [SPEAKER_05]: tells the story of how he got his arms on the hamlet's skull because you can't have your own hamlet's skull that has to be passed into you from people that have been in the play and he talks about all the people that are in that have been in this version of Hamlet and then one nice it was left in the pub and I nicked it.
28:51 --> 28:52 [SPEAKER_05]: Fantastic.
28:53 --> 28:54 [SPEAKER_05]: Fantastic.
28:54 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_01]: I do hope he gives it to Simon later, like that kind of passing out of the torch almost.
29:00 --> 29:00 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
29:01 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_05]: Although he should get it from somebody that plays Hamilton.
29:03 --> 29:03 [SPEAKER_05]: That's the point.
29:04 --> 29:05 [SPEAKER_05]: No, that's where we like the nipples actually.
29:06 --> 29:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Or no, or actually that Simon nicks it from the pole.
29:11 --> 29:13 [SPEAKER_01]: After, after Trevor.
29:13 --> 29:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, absolutely.
29:15 --> 29:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, Trevor's been so, so for 13 years, unlike Richard Burton, who's the person that left behind the hammer.
29:20 --> 29:21 [SPEAKER_05]: in D's.
29:21 --> 29:25 [SPEAKER_06]: I think, but again, the neighbor is playing the music too loud.
29:25 --> 29:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Again, the self-tape is thwarted in this moment's ass, Aladdin's cave.
29:31 --> 29:33 [SPEAKER_05]: I love that they have Trevor's apartment.
29:33 --> 29:37 [SPEAKER_05]: They have just about enough time to set up for the take before the drum and bass starts again.
29:38 --> 29:38 [SPEAKER_06]: It's exactly.
29:38 --> 29:47 [SPEAKER_06]: But I think we should go on to
29:48 --> 30:03 [SPEAKER_06]: because it's Joey Pants, they head off to Joey Pants Learno's crib to do the audition tape here after the failed attempts previously.
30:04 --> 30:05 [SPEAKER_01]: This is fantastic.
30:05 --> 30:11 [SPEAKER_01]: His whole scene like Joey pants for me is iconic from the Matrix.
30:11 --> 30:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's as the character and the scene and every aspect of it.
30:16 --> 30:28 [SPEAKER_01]: And the ribbing he gives himself throughout this, though the kind of the satirical version of himself he plays, I should say, is fantastic.
30:28 --> 30:31 [SPEAKER_01]: and it's all about the property.
30:31 --> 30:34 [SPEAKER_01]: He's gotten into property now and that's how he does it.
30:34 --> 30:46 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it is what you would expect from some actors, of that ilk and age and timing.
30:47 --> 30:50 [SPEAKER_01]: And it just kind of rings true.
30:51 --> 30:55 [SPEAKER_01]: But then the fun part is when he
30:55 --> 31:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Almost goes against, you have that, we all have those friends who take one thing way too seriously, like we take the MCU to say, but we don't, if someone challenged us on it, we don't go crazy at them.
31:09 --> 31:13 [SPEAKER_05]: No, we just can't have the podcast to talk about it with each other these next time.
31:13 --> 31:13 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
31:13 --> 31:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I love how you have these two people who think acting is an art, and things like that, and you have this third actor, or a tour, who is just like, no, it's a way for me to make money and just get another apartment or house.
31:28 --> 31:42 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's absolutely contrast, and it's even the point, it seems to be that Joey Pantoliana with this universe has made all of his money from, from buying and selling houses, acting is just something he did on the site to get the initials.
31:42 --> 31:45 [SPEAKER_05]: You can't just make a living, you have to make a killing.
31:47 --> 31:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
31:47 --> 31:59 [SPEAKER_05]: But to these two guys, to some Williams who's trying to break us in Hollywood and Trevor Slattery had it before and wants to get it again or didn't have it as big as you ever wanted it to be.
32:00 --> 32:06 [SPEAKER_05]: To those two characters hearing from somebody who has been successfully industry that it's just a business love.
32:06 --> 32:07 [SPEAKER_05]: make what you can and get out of it.
32:08 --> 32:13 [SPEAKER_05]: It's it's like a red rag tool ball and I love I love the scenes between them.
32:13 --> 32:28 [SPEAKER_05]: I love that there's a whole relationship that's going all the way back to when Trevor was supposed to be on sexual hospital with Joey Penteleano and he has a version of the story that he's been telling himself for years that Joey Pances the one that got rid of him from the show.
32:28 --> 32:33 [SPEAKER_05]: so that he could take over as the main actor, whether that's true or not, I don't know by the end of the episode.
32:34 --> 32:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Simon seems to think that given the conversation they're having with Joe Pateliano, that is true, that he forced.
32:43 --> 32:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Trevor off the show, Bush.
32:45 --> 32:58 [SPEAKER_05]: He seemed to be doing a lot of drugs the time when he was filming those first couple episodes and we did see him take a lot of drugs in Iron Man 3 so it's possible that his memory might be now as clear of those days.
32:58 --> 33:00 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's, I think you've said it.
33:00 --> 33:07 [SPEAKER_06]: It's like, just everything here is so good in these scenes between the three of them.
33:08 --> 33:18 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just, it's not just how serious the are, but it's how over the top serious, which is clearly played for that laugh.
33:18 --> 33:20 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, we're Trevor to Joe.
33:20 --> 33:23 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, you have Simon anyway telling Joe off, who's
33:23 --> 33:31 [SPEAKER_06]: kindly opened up his house so he can do his self-tape, as well as Nesta, his chef who is stolen from Matthew McConaughey.
33:32 --> 33:45 [SPEAKER_06]: And so you have that kind of ridiculousness being at play here, but maybe it's not for actors, you know, so you have Simon's sort of telling him off of copying
33:46 --> 33:56 [SPEAKER_06]: appreciating the job, but you have to have the turn into Joe saying acting isn't a job.
33:57 --> 34:02 [SPEAKER_06]: It's the single most cultural thing anyone can do with their life.
34:02 --> 34:07 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just fantastic.
34:07 --> 34:08 [SPEAKER_06]: I love that came out.
34:09 --> 34:11 [SPEAKER_05]: And again, this is another one of those revealing moments.
34:12 --> 34:16 [SPEAKER_05]: If you didn't get the joke in this scene, this show is probably not going to be for you.
34:16 --> 34:17 [SPEAKER_05]: You didn't get the joke.
34:17 --> 34:20 [SPEAKER_05]: When Trevor Slatter is saying, it's the most consequential thing in the world.
34:20 --> 34:26 [SPEAKER_05]: And then they go back to Simon's apartment and record three lines, which are amazingly delivered.
34:26 --> 34:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Don't get me wrong.
34:28 --> 34:30 [SPEAKER_05]: It's three of the most inconsequential lines.
34:30 --> 34:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly, all of cinema and if you don't get that's a joke.
34:35 --> 34:36 [SPEAKER_05]: That's definitely not going to be the joke.
34:37 --> 34:38 [SPEAKER_06]: And yes!
34:38 --> 34:45 [SPEAKER_06]: those three lines are absolutely so meaningful to the two of them, absolutely.
34:46 --> 35:04 [SPEAKER_06]: And the way it shots elevates it, if you're in that sense, the elevation of these three sort of bog standard lines and the meaning it has for them, because they've spent all day running across ten,
35:04 --> 35:07 [SPEAKER_06]: Simon saying, is it good?
35:07 --> 35:10 [SPEAKER_06]: And Trevor, then it's transcendent.
35:12 --> 35:14 [SPEAKER_06]: It's so, so good.
35:15 --> 35:18 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, you'd be crazy not to send it, I think he says.
35:18 --> 35:28 [SPEAKER_06]: But it's just like, I really just found, you know, how back then, you know, back where it all started, in a sense, they do finally get the self-take done.
35:29 --> 35:30 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
35:30 --> 35:38 [SPEAKER_06]: And it just sort of reflects the opposite of what you have at Joey Pants's place.
35:39 --> 35:40 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just really good.
35:41 --> 35:44 [SPEAKER_06]: I think it's a really clever bit of writing as well.
35:45 --> 35:47 [SPEAKER_06]: And this is, I just think it's accents.
35:48 --> 35:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, absolutely.
35:49 --> 36:01 [SPEAKER_01]: And for me, the tale of how I enjoy the show is that it's seamlessly then flips back to the main crux of this episode with Trevor pulling the curtain back, if you ask.
36:01 --> 36:01 [SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
36:01 --> 36:03 [SPEAKER_01]: So he'll be able to damage it too.
36:03 --> 36:12 [SPEAKER_01]: And then that pushing him forward to put the ring on the laptop and kind of him fulfilling his mission, if you will.
36:13 --> 36:13 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just,
36:13 --> 36:16 [SPEAKER_01]: it's very seamless.
36:16 --> 36:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Like you go from this amazingly beautiful comedic satirical moment to them going back to them again delivering a very powerful three lines.
36:31 --> 36:35 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and you're like that would be really cool if I carried out of it was a real thing.
36:35 --> 37:01 [SPEAKER_01]: But then you get back straight back into the crux and the plot of this show and you're like okay, like again, they pull us They end each kind of episode in a way that is like, oh, I mean, I am intrigued enough now to go forward And again, it's just an interesting way of just kind of they've they cut and kind of carved
37:01 --> 37:16 [SPEAKER_01]: the episodes he will kind of just enough of a hint and a taste that you're like, oh, I'm no further intrigued and the greater plot, the greater mystery that is Simon Williams.
37:16 --> 37:17 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely, absolutely.
37:17 --> 37:25 [SPEAKER_05]: And again, if there was any Dave and Trevor's mind, whether Simon the Paris at all, or not, right there, the world is showing Simon has Paris.
37:25 --> 37:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
37:25 --> 37:28 [SPEAKER_05]: He does ignore it and tells him that he needs to, he'll have pepperoni on his pizza.
37:28 --> 37:35 [SPEAKER_06]: I do like the awkward sort of silence that moment, but ultimately they do get their pizza together.
37:35 --> 37:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, so good day.
37:37 --> 37:38 [SPEAKER_06]: Good day.
37:39 --> 37:40 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
37:40 --> 37:44 [SPEAKER_06]: So then any notes from the episode, good stuff?
37:44 --> 37:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just one quick one for me, which is the self-tape boots and things like that.
37:49 --> 38:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Interestingly, for my honeymoon a few years ago, we went to LA, part of it before Hawaii, and we, those lots where they kind of, they show their walls, self-tape.
38:03 --> 38:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's a real thing.
38:05 --> 38:08 [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, only the fact that
38:08 --> 38:22 [SPEAKER_01]: I had been there and it's seen these these places because there was one right beside the comic shop I was like ah that's real and I was going here that's real because it feels so
38:23 --> 38:30 [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like something made for TV, it feels so fake, it feels like this is just a bit for the show.
38:30 --> 38:41 [SPEAKER_01]: But no, there are these studio kind of work, like where it's literally just like small, what you would consider retail shop in any other country.
38:42 --> 38:43 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just so funny.
38:43 --> 39:02 [SPEAKER_05]: It isn't, it's like a whole industry, as I say, a whole industry built up around things that people have been doing at home effectively, it's like, well, I could go into that studio and pay a couple of quit and it could even more professional than me doing it actually at home, but it looked like a self-type, bought it, it looks more professional, you know, that kind of way, yeah, really good.
39:03 --> 39:10 [SPEAKER_05]: The only, only note I had was just about Simon and how long he's been in LA, he's been an entire eight years and has no friends, like,
39:10 --> 39:11 [SPEAKER_04]: Poor guy!
39:12 --> 39:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Eight years struggling trying to find roles like we know that he can't keep down any role that he gets, and now absolutely hates him because he doesn't stay in a job.
39:21 --> 39:22 [SPEAKER_05]: New relationship either.
39:22 --> 39:24 [SPEAKER_05]: No relationship now as girlfriend's left him.
39:24 --> 39:31 [SPEAKER_05]: He goes out to watch movies during the daytime, so he really has nothing going on in his life, but he's been there doing this for eight years.
39:31 --> 39:32 [SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
39:32 --> 39:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
39:35 --> 39:36 [SPEAKER_06]: And you know, it's me, John.
39:36 --> 39:37 [SPEAKER_06]: No, for me.
39:37 --> 39:38 [SPEAKER_06]: That's all.
39:39 --> 39:44 [SPEAKER_06]: And so, Derek, do you defend this episode of Marvel's Wonder Man?
39:44 --> 39:45 [SPEAKER_05]: I absolutely do.
39:45 --> 39:47 [SPEAKER_05]: This was even funnier than the first episode for me.
39:47 --> 39:48 [SPEAKER_05]: Really enjoyed it.
39:48 --> 39:52 [SPEAKER_05]: Love the guest, I love the idea, thus that...
39:52 --> 40:00 [SPEAKER_05]: By the end of their conversation with Joey Putz and Anna, he's calling up his agent going, why didn't he get a call about what happened as well?
40:00 --> 40:06 [SPEAKER_05]: So he doesn't even take the criticism that the two of them give him by the end of that scene.
40:06 --> 40:07 [SPEAKER_05]: I think that's really funny.
40:07 --> 40:09 [SPEAKER_05]: So yes, really enjoy the show.
40:09 --> 40:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely a great two-hander.
40:11 --> 40:17 [SPEAKER_05]: I got two great actors here who are working so well together, and this was my favorite concept.
40:17 --> 40:22 [SPEAKER_05]: They just have to record three lines and they're stuck in LA for a day going place in place trying to record them.
40:23 --> 40:28 [SPEAKER_05]: It feels like you could make a movie out of that concept and then a great job with it in this episode.
40:29 --> 40:29 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, really enjoy it.
40:29 --> 40:30 [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely defend it.
40:30 --> 40:35 [SPEAKER_05]: How is off-crisse that you defend the second episode of Marvel's Wonder Mall?
40:35 --> 40:36 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to say that again.
40:36 --> 40:40 [SPEAKER_05]: How about you, Chris, did you defend the second episode of Marvel's Wonder Mall?
40:40 --> 40:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I do, I do that similar to you and everything we discussed, like, I get so intriguing as not just an MCU property.
40:51 --> 40:52 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, he has powers.
40:52 --> 40:53 [SPEAKER_01]: What does it mean?
40:53 --> 40:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
40:54 --> 40:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Damage control.
40:55 --> 40:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Why are they there?
40:56 --> 41:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, the standard super heroic fair, sci-fi type of kind of thing that I would usually watch.
41:04 --> 41:05 [SPEAKER_01]: But this,
41:06 --> 41:12 [SPEAKER_01]: comedic, satirical, take on Hollywood.
41:13 --> 41:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I would watch it by itself, like strip out the MCU part and again these two characters, these two actors are
41:21 --> 41:30 [SPEAKER_01]: And our intriguing enough and charismatic enough that you want to watch more of them.
41:30 --> 41:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And just then running around Hollywood, like, if that's all we get for the next few episodes, just then running around Hollywood into those kind of traditional Hollywood-esque places, cool.
41:41 --> 41:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm down for the rest of this.
41:43 --> 41:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is what I'm here for.
41:46 --> 41:51 [SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's finding their right balance, I think it's finding their right.
41:51 --> 41:57 [SPEAKER_01]: level of everything and I just want more so cannot wait to kind of dive into each and every episode.
41:58 --> 42:02 [SPEAKER_01]: John, what about yourself, do you defend this episode of Wonderman?
42:02 --> 42:06 [SPEAKER_06]: absolutely defend this episode of Wonderland.
42:06 --> 42:08 [SPEAKER_06]: I really enjoyed it.
42:08 --> 42:11 [SPEAKER_06]: I think more so than the first one, I loved the first one.
42:11 --> 42:16 [SPEAKER_06]: I would give this 5 Joey pantaloons out of 5.
42:18 --> 42:20 [SPEAKER_06]: I've just really enjoyed it.
42:20 --> 42:27 [SPEAKER_06]: I just love the cape of them trying to get a self-tape done.
42:27 --> 42:44 [SPEAKER_06]: and just having to go from pillar to post to try and get this done and it goes full circle and they're back at at Simon's and I think within this whole thing there is that bonding moment with the sort of
42:44 --> 43:06 [SPEAKER_06]: telling off of Joey Pants, you know, so in that sense it's character, you know, reference right at the start by the, you know, on the plane, and with the show South Shore Hospital, is really good at, you know, the guest style really good here with Joey Pantsley, I don't know, playing himself.
43:06 --> 43:10 [SPEAKER_06]: And this bond that is formed yet there is that
43:10 --> 43:23 [SPEAKER_06]: visible undercurrent of tension that the audience is aware of because of why Trevor is with Simon.
43:23 --> 43:37 [SPEAKER_06]: He's able to form this common bond of how consequential acting is and the transcendency of the art form.
43:37 --> 43:53 [SPEAKER_06]: And I just think that's a really, really great premise again, and I absolutely am loving Ben Kingsley in this, but equally, yeah, yeah, ab-doll-meteen.
43:53 --> 44:04 [SPEAKER_06]: It's just really good, you know, playing that less, you know, it just playing something less than Banking's league.
44:04 --> 44:05 [SPEAKER_06]: But stands to him.
44:06 --> 44:06 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
44:06 --> 44:11 [SPEAKER_06]: It's really, again, another great duo here.
44:12 --> 44:17 [SPEAKER_06]: one that's, you know, cut from the saying cloth in essence, absolutely.
44:17 --> 44:25 [SPEAKER_06]: And you have Trevor trying to impart his wisdom as knowledge, his method is just so good.
44:25 --> 44:28 [SPEAKER_06]: So yeah, absolutely do defend this.
44:28 --> 44:32 [SPEAKER_06]: Five Joey pantaloons out of five for me.
44:32 --> 44:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Fantastic.
44:33 --> 44:34 [SPEAKER_06]: Fantastic.
44:35 --> 44:36 [SPEAKER_06]: I think we need a drink.
44:36 --> 44:37 [SPEAKER_06]: you certainly do.
44:37 --> 44:44 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, fellow quizzes, fellow defenders, welcome to our pub quiz.
44:45 --> 44:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, we've just got off the boards, we're heading to the local hospital three in the morning to sort of come down from the acting high.
44:55 --> 45:01 [SPEAKER_06]: Just like Trevor and Simon.
45:01 --> 45:05 [SPEAKER_06]: So question two from episode two.
45:06 --> 45:10 [SPEAKER_06]: How old was Trevor when the acting book first hit?
45:10 --> 45:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, very good.
45:11 --> 45:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Very good.
45:11 --> 45:12 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, that's the second question.
45:13 --> 45:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, email the answers to us at the end of the season to feedback a TV podcast industry.com and you can be in the chance at getting your hands on some marvels of Wonder Man goodies.
45:23 --> 45:25 [SPEAKER_05]: John, don't think of the question one more time there.
45:25 --> 45:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Sure.
45:25 --> 45:29 [SPEAKER_05]: How old was Trevor when the acting book first hit?
45:29 --> 45:33 [SPEAKER_05]: I know how old he was on the FBI here, so I'm in the air for a little bit.
45:33 --> 45:34 [SPEAKER_05]: No, no.
45:35 --> 45:36 [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, good stuff.
45:36 --> 45:38 [SPEAKER_05]: She late.
45:38 --> 45:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Still recording early, so we don't have any feedback in on these particular episodes, but we did get a review in our first review of 2026 in from am Cleveland Doctor.
45:47 --> 45:52 [SPEAKER_05]: I think, uh, to think John C. L. V. L. A. N. D. D. Or Cleveland Doctor's over at that way.
45:52 --> 45:54 [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, pretty good.
45:54 --> 45:55 [SPEAKER_05]: It sounds right right.
45:55 --> 45:58 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, Kevin, just the start of January, they said wonderful.
45:58 --> 45:59 [SPEAKER_05]: I totally enjoy these podcasts.
45:59 --> 46:01 [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if listen to the coverage of many of these shows.
46:01 --> 46:07 [SPEAKER_05]: The guys do an awesome and third job in whatever show they're discussing and the accents are a plus.
46:07 --> 46:09 [SPEAKER_06]: absolutely great stuff.
46:09 --> 46:11 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks so much, Cleve and Doctor.
46:12 --> 46:24 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, assuming we've got that correct and really good to join our podcast and the coverage of the shows that we do, it's great to get that feedback and I'm glad to
46:24 --> 46:26 [SPEAKER_06]: you're really enjoying it.
46:26 --> 46:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's lovely to get reviews.
46:27 --> 46:28 [SPEAKER_05]: We don't get reviews in very often.
46:28 --> 46:31 [SPEAKER_05]: People tend not to use the review function on Apple Podcasts.
46:31 --> 46:33 [SPEAKER_05]: But if you do want to leave a review, please do.
46:33 --> 46:35 [SPEAKER_05]: I think we're at a 97 reviews.
46:35 --> 46:41 [SPEAKER_05]: So we've got three more to get to 100, which would be nice in our year of our 1000 episode for the podcast, which should be coming up later.
46:42 --> 46:43 [SPEAKER_05]: In 2022, six, as well.
46:43 --> 46:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
46:44 --> 46:46 [SPEAKER_05]: The millennium of podcasts will be coming up.
46:46 --> 46:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Be kind of cool.
46:47 --> 46:50 [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what
46:50 --> 47:11 [SPEAKER_05]: host a tentative village, so I don't think we have time to plan that, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it's not, it
47:11 --> 47:13 [SPEAKER_05]: I know I said we were going to do feedback.
47:13 --> 47:18 [SPEAKER_05]: But we got tons and tons of feedback in, so we've got all three of us here.
47:18 --> 47:23 [SPEAKER_05]: So we're going to do some feedback for episode one and two for one demand in our second episode podcast.
47:23 --> 47:27 [SPEAKER_05]: So first up, we got an email in from Coffee and Vodka with his thoughts on the first episode.
47:27 --> 47:30 [SPEAKER_05]: He says greetings fellow processing defenders.
47:30 --> 47:36 [SPEAKER_05]: No varied leads, intrigue and excellent performances are wonderful beginning to up promises to be a great series.
47:36 --> 47:39 [SPEAKER_05]: My only question is why they chose to dump the whole season Netflix style.
47:39 --> 47:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Not that I'm complaining, it's nice to have access to it all at once, though it does could damage potential water cooler bulls off the episode two, five neurotic notes, tremulous toilets and guardian slaseries out of five piece of tech care, coffee and vodka.
47:53 --> 48:03 [SPEAKER_06]: great stuff, coffee and vodka, great to get your first bit of feedback in for the new year as well as to a lot of fellow defenders.
48:03 --> 48:07 [SPEAKER_06]: And of course a happy birthday to you as well.
48:07 --> 48:08 [SPEAKER_06]: So
48:08 --> 48:10 [SPEAKER_06]: all the best wishes for your birthday.
48:10 --> 48:11 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
48:12 --> 48:13 [SPEAKER_06]: We hope you're having a great one.
48:14 --> 48:17 [SPEAKER_06]: And it's great to get your thoughts on this first episode of Wonder Man.
48:18 --> 48:20 [SPEAKER_06]: I was very own water cooler moment.
48:20 --> 48:20 [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
48:21 --> 48:22 [SPEAKER_06]: And really glad you're enjoying it.
48:22 --> 48:25 [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah, I would like it to be a little space out as well.
48:27 --> 48:29 [SPEAKER_06]: So that we can keep them momentum and have that water cooler.
48:29 --> 48:31 [SPEAKER_06]: But it is nice to have it.
48:31 --> 48:31 [SPEAKER_06]: It drop.
48:31 --> 48:38 [SPEAKER_06]: I just hope it really sticks with people because it certainly I think has stuck with me.
48:38 --> 48:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks coffee vodka.
48:39 --> 48:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I saw what you did with the wonderful beginning.
48:43 --> 48:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the same.
48:43 --> 48:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I wish you had more water cooler buzz because I think this will be a flash in the pan.
48:49 --> 48:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone will chat about it this week and maybe this weekend.
48:52 --> 49:02 [SPEAKER_01]: And then we will use a bit of
49:02 --> 49:27 [SPEAKER_01]: release schedule which is give us three in the very beginning and then space that I'd weekly after that I'd give away that model and because you get that kind of you can still binge kind of kind of the first few episodes and everyone kind of gets excited and there's a lot of talk and then it you do get that water cooler hey what's what's going on what's what what is slatter you doing exactly what's going on with Trev
49:27 --> 49:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I was particularly this episode, this first episode, the cliffhanger at the end of the episode where he didn't know who was on the other end of the film.
49:35 --> 49:39 [SPEAKER_05]: So that's a great moment to have people thinking for a week, it was quite cool.
49:40 --> 49:47 [SPEAKER_05]: But we are going to stretch it out, we are going to have two episodes of the podcast out every single week for the next four weeks talking about everything that goes on in one run.
49:47 --> 49:50 [SPEAKER_05]: I think that probably are regretting it because this is...
49:50 --> 49:53 [SPEAKER_05]: the highest rate of Marvel TV show so far.
49:53 --> 49:54 [SPEAKER_05]: It's been released now.
49:54 --> 49:56 [SPEAKER_05]: They've got all the reviews I've come in.
49:57 --> 50:09 [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's at 80% from reviewers, 85% from reviewers and 80% from the audience, which is unheard of in the MCU over the last four or five years, every show that has now had a major character in it has been reviewed on.
50:10 --> 50:12 [SPEAKER_05]: So there's the first one that's not being reviewed, but it's so cool.
50:12 --> 50:14 [SPEAKER_05]: So it's had the regretting putting it all light and won't go.
50:15 --> 50:19 [SPEAKER_05]: And it might disappear that other than every week, people will be really happily watching along, I think.
50:19 --> 50:24 [SPEAKER_05]: But hopefully a bit of word at most, I will get out there and get more people with more iPods.
50:24 --> 50:27 [SPEAKER_06]: And indeed, have confidence, Marvel, have confidence.
50:28 --> 50:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff, coffee and vodka.
50:29 --> 50:32 [SPEAKER_06]: We also got some thoughts from Adam Downey.
50:32 --> 50:34 [SPEAKER_06]: He says, I'm looking forward to watching this show.
50:35 --> 50:36 [SPEAKER_06]: I know nothing about Wonderman.
50:36 --> 50:41 [SPEAKER_06]: And in fact, before they announced it, I never even had heard of the character.
50:42 --> 50:47 [SPEAKER_06]: I've enjoyed the first episode so far, so I will save the show by not binging it in one sitting.
50:48 --> 50:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff, Adam.
50:50 --> 50:52 [SPEAKER_06]: I think birds of a feather, don't I say it?
50:53 --> 50:54 [SPEAKER_06]: So, hopefully.
50:54 --> 50:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Adam.
50:55 --> 51:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was like as a long term, a long time long term.
51:01 --> 51:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Marvel fan.
51:02 --> 51:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I do know Wonderman from his West Coast Avenger days.
51:05 --> 51:07 [SPEAKER_01]: He's changed a lot over the thing.
51:08 --> 51:10 [SPEAKER_01]: He's been in the Avengers for years.
51:10 --> 51:16 [SPEAKER_01]: So, but this is a completely fresh take, completely new take.
51:17 --> 51:22 [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it's, I hope you enjoy the savoring of this ship.
51:22 --> 51:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
51:23 --> 51:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
51:23 --> 51:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
51:23 --> 51:27 [SPEAKER_05]: I think actually one demand is in the current lineup of the Avengers.
51:27 --> 51:31 [SPEAKER_05]: He's been brought back quite recently, but he's just one of those characters that he's just a powerful character.
51:31 --> 51:34 [SPEAKER_05]: He's not like this character in the show.
51:34 --> 51:36 [SPEAKER_05]: So you don't need to know anything going in as the positive about it.
51:37 --> 51:42 [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think there's that many people that have a huge amount of dollars of the character.
51:42 --> 51:44 [SPEAKER_05]: So it's not going to spoil their thoughts about it.
51:44 --> 51:44 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
51:44 --> 51:46 [SPEAKER_06]: I knew his sister, Wonder Woman.
51:46 --> 51:47 [SPEAKER_05]: There you go.
51:47 --> 51:48 [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.
51:48 --> 51:54 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Adam, over on Discord we got some feedback first up from Angie, our house who had this to say.
51:54 --> 52:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I just watched episode 1 and I am hooked, having watched all the Marvel shows because it was getting a bit too much for me.
52:01 --> 52:05 [SPEAKER_01]: But I was looking for something to watch and I love Serpent Kingsley.
52:06 --> 52:15 [SPEAKER_01]: So I gave the show a try tonight and I am glad I did, the performances are great and this duo is going to be really fun to watch.
52:15 --> 52:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Angie and yeah, no they are and it only gets better.
52:18 --> 52:19 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, definitely.
52:21 --> 52:22 [SPEAKER_06]: Trevor's great.
52:22 --> 52:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, I'm brought by Ben Kingsley for sure.
52:26 --> 52:27 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, absolutely.
52:27 --> 52:29 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, I'm really such a great performance.
52:29 --> 52:33 [SPEAKER_06]: And just how he just how he bounces off with.
52:34 --> 52:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, yeah, Abdul MartÃn is just brilliant.
52:37 --> 52:40 [SPEAKER_06]: So really glad to join this Angie.
52:40 --> 52:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.
52:41 --> 52:41 [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah.
52:41 --> 53:03 [SPEAKER_06]: great to have you on board for this show yeah yeah definitely thanks and energy and John I'm gonna let you read the next piece of feedback because soon from Dr. Bob yes Dr. Bob Phillips says I love Trevor don't we all Bob don't we all I've forgotten how sweet barely getting along actor has Liverpoolian roots and so it is always ready to work things to his advantage
53:03 --> 53:14 [SPEAKER_06]: Did not expect to be moved by Simon's one-demand audition and quite uncertain if we're going to have a double triple or quadruple bluff on the powers?
53:15 --> 53:22 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, I mean, I just kind of quite like the fact that no one really knows who one-demand is both they do.
53:22 --> 53:24 [SPEAKER_06]: It's very tangentially
53:24 --> 53:28 [SPEAKER_06]: And so in the sense as power base is not really that important.
53:28 --> 53:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
53:28 --> 53:52 [SPEAKER_06]: So I like that they're teasing us and that actually the focus of this is this character study of friendship between Simon and Trevor, but also I guess then it must be quite interesting to do for actors, but also even for the directors and cast and crew, people trying to get their
53:52 --> 53:58 [SPEAKER_06]: You know, it's a little bit semi-autobiographical I guess for most people.
53:58 --> 54:01 [SPEAKER_06]: So this is already kind of quite good, I think.
54:02 --> 54:03 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
54:03 --> 54:03 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
54:03 --> 54:06 [SPEAKER_06]: And a little puddling roots are great.
54:06 --> 54:07 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely mate.
54:08 --> 54:14 [SPEAKER_05]: I do like the collet there, Dutch barb there, so the Republicans tend to get things working to their advantage.
54:14 --> 54:19 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, absolutely, doing great stuff, getting a working thing switches advantage, as well he should.
54:20 --> 54:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
54:20 --> 54:22 [SPEAKER_06]: As well as everyone should as well.
54:22 --> 54:23 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
54:23 --> 54:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks, Dr. Bob.
54:24 --> 54:25 [SPEAKER_05]: For the pay, it says, nice.
54:26 --> 54:29 [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't know what to expect, and this episode got me super intrigued.
54:29 --> 54:33 [SPEAKER_05]: Can't say where this is taking me, but I'm anxious to get there.
54:33 --> 54:37 [SPEAKER_05]: And Sassie Geek Girl 77 over on Discord says great start to the series.
54:37 --> 54:41 [SPEAKER_05]: I was loving Trevor helping Simon until the end when you find out he's just scoping him out for some government agency.
54:42 --> 54:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Interesting.
54:44 --> 54:48 [SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately, I didn't take that Sassie Geek Girl's name from the Discord.
54:48 --> 54:50 [SPEAKER_05]: I can only see your screen name, but I do love her.
54:50 --> 54:51 [SPEAKER_05]: So, might as well have to push it.
54:51 --> 54:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, it is a good name.
54:52 --> 54:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
54:53 --> 54:55 [SPEAKER_05]: Excellent stuff, glad you're enjoying it.
54:55 --> 54:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, definitely.
54:56 --> 54:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Yep, thank you so much Sasi Geek girl.
54:59 --> 55:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I hope you're an extra Sasi in your next piece of feedback.
55:01 --> 55:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Now over on Facebook, we have the one and only mathematician who had this to say, Trevor is up to his old tricks again.
55:10 --> 55:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Has he ever had a part in an actual production?
55:14 --> 55:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Or does he always use his talent to fool people in the real world?
55:18 --> 55:30 [SPEAKER_01]: In treating final 30 seconds, but this is where Disney Plus would benefit, giving us one episode per week, because the mystery caused by the phone call from an unknown man should have me thinking about it all week.
55:30 --> 55:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just about to stick on episode 2 now, five minutes after finishing episode 1.
55:36 --> 55:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't really enjoy the acting of, yeah, yeah, in either the Aquaman movies, but he's great here assignment.
55:43 --> 55:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting tall, Kevin Hartvibes, interesting to see where they take us from here.
55:49 --> 55:56 [SPEAKER_01]: It's also amazing how Marvel can get you thinking about tiny details as if it's the most important thing in your life.
55:56 --> 56:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I, what was the low tone dramatic music over the Marvel banner at the beginning?
56:02 --> 56:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I want to settle on it just being the first content of 2021 reminding us that this is the year Doom is on his way, but being a spotlight production, I thought the idea was remained to touch from the bigger story.
56:15 --> 56:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's four seconds of music.
56:17 --> 56:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It shouldn't matter, but Marvel makes you think everything matters.
56:21 --> 56:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Had to rewind and rewatch the first five minutes because I realized I wanted to watch the show properly and instead all those thinking about it was the bottom music.
56:32 --> 56:57 [SPEAKER_05]: Now you know what it's like to be a podcaster on Marvel TV videos because you suddenly obsess about just little lines a little moments And I show that make absolutely no difference the overall story Especially if you're like you're doing sending your feedback on the first episode before you watch the second episode So suddenly something stands out to an episode and it doesn't matter at all by the time you get to the end of the series But it's the most important thing and you're watching first
56:57 --> 57:08 [SPEAKER_05]: I love the idea that it could have been some notes coming into this year of doom, that the first production that they put out could be giving you some ominous music, but I think it is just the Marvel Spotlight tune.
57:09 --> 57:16 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and I'm really glad you're enjoying Abdul-Mathene in the role as of Simon.
57:17 --> 57:26 [SPEAKER_06]: Certainly, I think the last time we had talked about him on the podcast was
57:26 --> 57:31 [SPEAKER_06]: So really glad you're enjoying him in this role as Simon.
57:31 --> 57:35 [SPEAKER_05]: He plays multiple different type of characters and watch them as well if you haven't yet.
57:35 --> 57:37 [SPEAKER_05]: So highly recommend them.
57:37 --> 57:38 [SPEAKER_05]: Check out that as if you haven't.
57:38 --> 57:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Brilliant stuff.
57:39 --> 57:39 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks, mathematician.
57:40 --> 57:41 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks, mathematician.
57:41 --> 57:42 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks, mathematician.
57:42 --> 57:46 [SPEAKER_06]: Also on Facebook, Heather Wallace says, first episode and I'm intrigued.
57:47 --> 57:52 [SPEAKER_06]: I like Marvel best when the stories are genre based and just happen to have people with superpowers.
57:52 --> 57:59 [SPEAKER_06]: So this genre of a day in the life of a struggling actor who has superpowers has my attention.
57:59 --> 58:00 [SPEAKER_06]: Good stuff, Heather.
58:00 --> 58:08 [SPEAKER_06]: really glad that it's got you all intrigued and looking forward to your feedback across all these episodes.
58:08 --> 58:09 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely.
58:09 --> 58:12 [SPEAKER_05]: And finally for episode one, Ray has his thoughts.
58:12 --> 58:15 [SPEAKER_05]: He says I've watched two episodes and I'm really enjoying it so far.
58:15 --> 58:19 [SPEAKER_05]: I've seen comments online of people not interested because it's all talking no action.
58:19 --> 58:25 [SPEAKER_05]: But to be honest, the deep dive of the show business and both Yayan Ben's acting is just next level.
58:25 --> 58:28 [SPEAKER_05]: Trevor and Simon have drawn me in looking forward to how it unfolds.
58:28 --> 58:32 [SPEAKER_05]: I almost kind of don't want there to be superhairs or superhero elements to get in the way.
58:32 --> 58:39 [SPEAKER_05]: The journey of trying to make it in a cutthroat industry is all the entertainment I need excellent excellent show.
58:39 --> 58:40 [SPEAKER_06]: great stuff.
58:40 --> 58:42 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks Ray for that feedback.
58:42 --> 58:42 [SPEAKER_05]: That's great.
58:42 --> 58:46 [SPEAKER_06]: Good to get your feedback in as well.
58:46 --> 58:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, on a defender.
58:48 --> 58:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
58:49 --> 58:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
58:49 --> 58:51 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm really glad you're enjoying it.
58:51 --> 58:54 [SPEAKER_06]: It's going to be such a good.
58:54 --> 58:55 [SPEAKER_06]: journey for you I think.
58:55 --> 58:57 [SPEAKER_06]: I fixed on your comments.
58:57 --> 58:58 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I think so.
58:58 --> 59:14 [SPEAKER_05]: I think that one of the cool things about this for for me Definitely podcasting on the show the way we're doing it is it really feels like when we were doing Daredevil and the defender shows back on Netflix because yeah All those episodes can out On one day and we've spread it out over a couple of weeks or even months at some times
59:14 --> 59:21 [SPEAKER_05]: So our listeners were a little bit ahead of us, a little bit behind us at times, but we were able to stick to stick to doing it that way.
59:21 --> 59:23 [SPEAKER_05]: So it really feels like the old days again.
59:23 --> 59:27 [SPEAKER_05]: So it's nice to hear from one of our wonderful fellow defenders from back then as well.
59:27 --> 59:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, definitely.
59:28 --> 59:28 [SPEAKER_06]: Great stuff.
59:28 --> 59:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks Ray.
59:29 --> 59:30 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks Ray.
59:30 --> 59:33 [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's time to get on to our episode two feedback as well.
59:33 --> 59:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes for episode two, Coffee and vodka says, greetings fellow auditioning defenders, backstory, bond building, and Joe Panteriano.
59:43 --> 59:49 [SPEAKER_06]: A nice slow build with what feels like real chemistry between Yaya and Ben.
59:49 --> 59:53 [SPEAKER_06]: Also, an almost reality show style, peep behind the Hollywood curtain.
59:53 --> 01:00:06 [SPEAKER_06]: Splashed in, there's some subtle humour and so far, so good, five pilfering pants, sentence fragments, and referential rings out of five, peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:10 [SPEAKER_05]: I was trying to work out what you meant by a pill-fring pants there.
01:00:10 --> 01:00:17 [SPEAKER_05]: I guess that's Joey Pantley and I was stealing the roll Exactly, but not somebody stealing someone's underwear.
01:00:17 --> 01:00:23 [SPEAKER_06]: And the sentence rankences I think from one of Trevor's lines around I wouldn't give a split sentence.
01:00:23 --> 01:00:25 [SPEAKER_06]: That's it, yes Yes, I don't deal with sentences.
01:00:25 --> 01:00:29 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, they say to Agent Cleary if it's that's it
01:00:29 --> 01:00:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Fantastic, good job everybody.
01:00:31 --> 01:00:33 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, good stuff, that's two fives in a row.
01:00:34 --> 01:00:37 [SPEAKER_06]: And see how that continues, good stuff, coffee vodka.
01:00:37 --> 01:01:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, thanks coffee and vodka and I didn't know where you were going with pill cream pants, but now I think that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that
01:01:00 --> 01:01:06 [SPEAKER_01]: In episode 2, I didn't recognize Joey Pants at first, even though he was in the last of us not too long ago.
01:01:07 --> 01:01:16 [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, we had to turn on subtitles immediately, even before Kingsley showed up, not sure why the dialogue seemed hard to understand in this show, the others.
01:01:16 --> 01:01:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Joe, yeah, I actually even forgot Joey was in the last of us.
01:01:20 --> 01:01:21 [SPEAKER_01]: That's how long it was.
01:01:21 --> 01:01:28 [SPEAKER_05]: I actually was rewatching it over the period because I'm still locked in the house with my foot and a boot.
01:01:29 --> 01:01:32 [SPEAKER_05]: So I was rewatching the second season of the last of us and was like, oh my god, I completely forgot.
01:01:33 --> 01:01:36 [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, I don't think he even mentioned it in the episode one.
01:01:36 --> 01:01:36 [SPEAKER_05]: No.
01:01:36 --> 01:01:37 [SPEAKER_06]: We didn't know.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes.
01:01:37 --> 01:01:39 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm telling defenders that's not to cry for help.
01:01:40 --> 01:01:40 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
01:01:40 --> 01:01:41 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not locked in there.
01:01:41 --> 01:01:42 [SPEAKER_05]: It's not locked in the house.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:44 [SPEAKER_05]: I have a fractured ankle.
01:01:44 --> 01:01:44 [SPEAKER_05]: My fault.
01:01:44 --> 01:01:45 [SPEAKER_05]: I did it.
01:01:45 --> 01:01:47 [SPEAKER_05]: John didn't push me there.
01:01:47 --> 01:01:55 [SPEAKER_06]: Blink twice, Derek, give me the GX and lead D. Absolutely, this is not painting me in a good light at all.
01:01:55 --> 01:01:57 [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely, it's okay.
01:01:57 --> 01:02:02 [SPEAKER_06]: But yes, no, Joe, I can, I feel your pain on subtitles, at least for my side.
01:02:02 --> 01:02:05 [SPEAKER_06]: I guess it's just age.
01:02:07 --> 01:02:11 [SPEAKER_06]: And to make sure that we get the note right for the podcast.
01:02:11 --> 01:02:12 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I like it.
01:02:12 --> 01:02:21 [SPEAKER_05]: There is a lot of Shakespearey dialogue when that's coded by Ben Kingsley and the two of them have a good pattern going back and forth and I don't want to miss any of the lines that they're saying either.
01:02:21 --> 01:02:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, do tend to have the set up as well.
01:02:24 --> 01:02:28 [SPEAKER_06]: I'm not insinuating HHA so polish.
01:02:28 --> 01:02:30 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just insinuating H for you guys.
01:02:30 --> 01:02:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:33 [SPEAKER_05]: Definitely us Chris.
01:02:33 --> 01:02:41 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks Joe, Philipay, Gurgle says, for someone who has never been a fan of Trevor, he is captivating me in this show, looking forward to the rest of the series.
01:02:42 --> 01:02:45 [SPEAKER_05]: Despite that, I convinced by wife not to binge the show to let the episode sink in.
01:02:46 --> 01:02:49 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, she must hate us for playing.
01:02:49 --> 01:02:49 [SPEAKER_06]: Exactly.
01:02:50 --> 01:02:56 [SPEAKER_06]: I was like, really pleased you're getting into Trevor, yeah, Philipay.
01:02:56 --> 01:03:00 [SPEAKER_06]: And I'll say, he's always been one of my favorites, but I think it's just the comedy side of it.
01:03:00 --> 01:03:01 [SPEAKER_05]: It is.
01:03:01 --> 01:03:02 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
01:03:02 --> 01:03:08 [SPEAKER_05]: And I just remember that first reveal in Iron Man's room, when we saw that, I remember talking to you about a Chris.
01:03:08 --> 01:03:16 [SPEAKER_05]: And we all got the joke and laughed along with, and then suddenly you see online, all these people that were really hard to bite, because the management had turned out to be a joke.
01:03:16 --> 01:03:18 [SPEAKER_05]: It's like, well, he didn't really, the management was still there.
01:03:18 --> 01:03:20 [SPEAKER_05]: The management's kind of old Rich Killian.
01:03:20 --> 01:03:27 [SPEAKER_05]: and Trevor Slattery is just this broken actor being put forward in front of the camera.
01:03:27 --> 01:03:40 [SPEAKER_05]: We all like the joke quite a lot and I've kind of always liked him ever since, so we've all kind of liked him ever since, but I know a lot of people blamed Ben Kingsley for not having the real Mandarin as they saw in the MCU, right?
01:03:40 --> 01:03:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
01:03:41 --> 01:03:46 [SPEAKER_01]: And that's a fun part of having him there and continuing like he's only going to get better.
01:03:47 --> 01:03:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.
01:03:47 --> 01:03:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Now as the series progress,
01:03:49 --> 01:04:12 [SPEAKER_05]: yeah yeah and whatever happens after the series I suppose but it is spotlight so we'll have to see never know never know we've already heard rumbleings from underguess the show creator and show runner and writer talking about the possibility of a second season because it's been very
01:04:12 --> 01:04:19 [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah, thanks for the pay, sassy geek girl, some seven says, I'm not a fan of Asian Cleary.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:24 [SPEAKER_06]: I really thought Simon didn't realize he had powers until that happened in his apartment.
01:04:25 --> 01:04:29 [SPEAKER_06]: I really enjoyed them running all over the place trying to find a place for the self-tape.
01:04:29 --> 01:04:31 [SPEAKER_06]: Only to end up back at his apartment.
01:04:31 --> 01:04:37 [SPEAKER_06]: Trevor seemed like he didn't want to use that ring for Cleary, even after finding that huge crack in the wall.
01:04:37 --> 01:04:42 [SPEAKER_06]: I can't wait to watch the next episodes, but I'm trying not to binge it all at once.
01:04:43 --> 01:04:48 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks for the feedback, Sassy Geek Girl, and really glad you're looking not to binge it.
01:04:49 --> 01:04:52 [SPEAKER_06]: I feel like we're responsible for removement.
01:04:52 --> 01:04:57 [SPEAKER_06]: I was going to say so many people keep saying that they're not doing like, oh my god, this is great.
01:04:57 --> 01:05:00 [SPEAKER_05]: But I think this is going to come up point this.
01:05:01 --> 01:05:03 [SPEAKER_05]: We are already a bit further ahead than episode two.
01:05:03 --> 01:05:06 [SPEAKER_05]: We could definitely say that could record in a couple of episodes and advance.
01:05:06 --> 01:05:09 [SPEAKER_05]: And I know there's a point that's going to come where you'll go.
01:05:09 --> 01:05:11 [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's only half an hour or it's only 25 minutes.
01:05:11 --> 01:05:13 [SPEAKER_05]: I'll watch the next one.
01:05:13 --> 01:05:14 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
01:05:14 --> 01:05:19 [SPEAKER_05]: Just in between when you're taking a break and you're refilling your coffee or getting another glass of wine for the next episode.
01:05:19 --> 01:05:22 [SPEAKER_05]: Just pop in your feedback on the episode that you've just watched.
01:05:22 --> 01:05:24 [SPEAKER_05]: That's all the ask.
01:05:24 --> 01:05:24 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
01:05:25 --> 01:05:25 [SPEAKER_05]: Fantastic.
01:05:26 --> 01:05:27 [SPEAKER_05]: Back over to Facebook.
01:05:28 --> 01:05:29 [SPEAKER_05]: We have some feedback in from mathematician.
01:05:29 --> 01:05:31 [SPEAKER_05]: He says, I nearly spat.
01:05:31 --> 01:05:40 [SPEAKER_05]: But my brother, when I saw the role course in this episode, I've been there so many times to watch theater comedy music that it felt surreal seeing, even just an old scrunch of photo.
01:05:40 --> 01:05:48 [SPEAKER_05]: Agent Cleary from Department of Damage Control, Ms. Marvel, Spiderman No Way Home, is back, and I always appreciate the little crossovers they provide.
01:05:48 --> 01:05:53 [SPEAKER_05]: Had to check out Ron Jenkins from Korea, I hate that program, the Bay of My Childhood Evenings.
01:05:53 --> 01:05:58 [SPEAKER_05]: And yet, Sir Ben Kingsley played Ron Jenkins back in the 60s, clever to weave it in here.
01:05:58 --> 01:06:05 [SPEAKER_05]: Little Joey Pants steals the show and a few crackers I enjoyed, been like Ron and the fugitive movies.
01:06:05 --> 01:06:10 [SPEAKER_05]: The look on Trevor's face when Pants said, hell, if I were British they'd have nicer me by now.
01:06:11 --> 01:06:15 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely boss, no idea where this show is, how does this stage, but I am enjoying it.
01:06:16 --> 01:06:18 [SPEAKER_06]: It's stuff, math and musician.
01:06:18 --> 01:06:20 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, totally with you around the role core.
01:06:20 --> 01:06:24 [SPEAKER_06]: It was going to interesting to see that, and yeah.
01:06:24 --> 01:06:31 [SPEAKER_06]: And being there myself, many a time, not so much lately, but certainly as a kid.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:38 [SPEAKER_06]: And yeah, the curry thing, I totally get you around the vein of childhood evenings.
01:06:38 --> 01:06:45 [SPEAKER_06]: Having to watch the, well, curry, amadale, and East Enders, it was kind of like,
01:06:44 --> 01:06:54 [SPEAKER_06]: Turgid sort of Kafka-esque pain and having to watch these shades for American listeners.
01:06:54 --> 01:07:07 [SPEAKER_05]: These are British soap operas, which are all dark and grim They're not like the American soap operas, which are really brightly-list and all about people sleeping with each other These ones are right people murdering each other or stealing each other's wives or whatever.
01:07:07 --> 01:07:10 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they're much darker Well, yeah, I was very lucky as trains.
01:07:10 --> 01:07:11 [SPEAKER_06]: Oh
01:07:11 --> 01:07:17 [SPEAKER_06]: or planes falling on remote And I'm tanked like an amazelle.
01:07:17 --> 01:07:20 [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, that's a funny camera down farm until that being pushed into it.
01:07:20 --> 01:07:21 [SPEAKER_05]: I'm turning it into an amazelle.
01:07:21 --> 01:07:30 [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I was really lucky Okay, because my mom only watched one soap opera because it was on between half six and seven I clock and it was An Australian one called neighbors.
01:07:30 --> 01:07:36 [SPEAKER_05]: So we got to see the bright sunshine and a hot looking people running around rather than a rather than East Enders
01:07:36 --> 01:07:37 [SPEAKER_05]: that as well.
01:07:37 --> 01:07:39 [SPEAKER_05]: So we only had to watch that one.
01:07:39 --> 01:07:40 [SPEAKER_05]: I've heard in a way.
01:07:41 --> 01:07:41 [SPEAKER_06]: That was good.
01:07:42 --> 01:07:43 [SPEAKER_06]: Short and sweet at lunch?
01:07:43 --> 01:07:43 [SPEAKER_05]: Nope.
01:07:44 --> 01:07:47 [SPEAKER_05]: Nope, literally only neighbors because that was my mum's out there.
01:07:48 --> 01:08:00 [SPEAKER_06]: You name it loads of them, but yeah, definitely remember having to sort of pretend, well, I definitely remember just sitting, having to watch it and then deciding just to leave as I got older and older.
01:08:02 --> 01:08:02 [UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
01:08:02 --> 01:08:06 [SPEAKER_01]: But only one I would have watched it would have been murder she wrote, that's not even the same thing.
01:08:07 --> 01:08:08 [SPEAKER_04]: It's not even the same thing.
01:08:08 --> 01:08:09 [SPEAKER_01]: That's just the positive.
01:08:10 --> 01:08:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Without me.
01:08:11 --> 01:08:12 [SPEAKER_06]: That's true.
01:08:13 --> 01:08:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Angela Lansbury.
01:08:15 --> 01:08:16 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, she's like an owl.
01:08:17 --> 01:08:20 [SPEAKER_06]: She wrote a net round of 360 degrees.
01:08:20 --> 01:08:20 [SPEAKER_06]: It's a fact.
01:08:20 --> 01:08:21 [SPEAKER_01]: I did not know that.
01:08:22 --> 01:08:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I did not know that that is an interesting fact.
01:08:24 --> 01:08:25 [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, we're off top again.
01:08:25 --> 01:08:34 [SPEAKER_01]: But speaking of other facts, thanks, Mother Metician and we also got some feedback from Ray who
01:08:34 --> 01:08:38 [SPEAKER_01]: There's a masterclass in acting and it's on show in this series.
01:08:38 --> 01:08:41 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm kind of curious now how they explain Simon's power.
01:08:42 --> 01:08:47 [SPEAKER_01]: I doubt we'll see Zemo giving him to him, but the damage control portion was quite good.
01:08:48 --> 01:08:52 [SPEAKER_01]: The bulk of the entertainment, however, just continues to be the two leads.
01:08:52 --> 01:08:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, uh, answer Ben, absolutely, living to watch the month screen together.
01:08:56 --> 01:08:58 [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely.
01:08:59 --> 01:08:59 [SPEAKER_05]: Thanks very much.
01:09:00 --> 01:09:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's going to get interesting.
01:09:02 --> 01:09:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping they'll dive into it.
01:09:07 --> 01:09:09 [SPEAKER_01]: For those who were like, why is he mentioned Zemo?
01:09:10 --> 01:09:21 [SPEAKER_01]: In the comic books, Baran Zemo does and has a lot to do with Simon Williams getting his powers, but this is a separate completely.
01:09:21 --> 01:09:51 [SPEAKER_01]: different thing i do not think we will see baron zimo from all of those shows yeah from the shows in the films coming in um i say that who knows but i think they run somewhere in the world in the after i said um captain america in the winter soldier um yeah and that series and you get any of those marvellous zombies where you need to got killed yes yes yes that's that's
01:09:51 --> 01:09:52 [SPEAKER_06]: Excellent.
01:09:52 --> 01:09:55 [SPEAKER_06]: Yes, thanks so much Ray for your thoughts on the second episode.
01:09:55 --> 01:09:56 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, good stuff.
01:09:56 --> 01:10:13 [SPEAKER_06]: Thanks Ray and finally for episode two Heather Wallace says next time anyone say his Marvel stories are so unrealistic I'm going to point to the Department of Damage Control setting arrest quotas to ensure the next fiscal years budget Sarah Kirill
01:10:13 --> 01:10:14 [SPEAKER_06]: in these it is.
01:10:15 --> 01:10:24 [SPEAKER_06]: I think the fellow civil servant can appreciate all of that stuff, but yeah.
01:10:24 --> 01:10:25 [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, absolutely.
01:10:26 --> 01:10:31 [SPEAKER_05]: What's not a whole series of the wire was all about quotas in the post department just being passed back and forth.
01:10:31 --> 01:10:32 [SPEAKER_05]: How did we depart?
01:10:32 --> 01:10:33 [SPEAKER_06]: I can hide stuff in days.
01:10:33 --> 01:10:35 [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, exactly.
01:10:35 --> 01:10:37 [SPEAKER_05]: We all know about that for a minute.
01:10:37 --> 01:10:39 [SPEAKER_05]: I'll work for a government department, but we all know that hiding stuff.
01:10:39 --> 01:10:40 [SPEAKER_05]: That's true.
