Episode 3 and 4 Directed by: Gandja Monteiro

Episode 3 - "Reboot"

Vision and Tommy go on the run after their escape from the Paladin's attack. The Adamantium bullets used on Vision begin to shut down his body until he uses battery acid to halt his permanent death.

Inside his neural network, the team of FRIDAY, U, DUM-E and EDITH realise they need to do a full Reboot to fully fix Vision.

Meanwhile Ultron discovers that a serial killer called Butcherbird is leaving etched wings at the crime scene of their victims. When Paladin accidentally tracks the killer down he reveals it's an android on a murder mission. After he escapes, Paladin's client cancels their contract with him.

While hiding out in a hotel, Vision convinces Tommy to overcome his fear of water and use his speed powers to restart Vision's broken body. But the reboot attracts the robots attention and the "Butcherbird" begins attacking VISION's mind space.

In Episode 4 - "Malware"

The Butcherbird Killer possesses Vision and threatens to harm Tommy if he interferes in her plan, but E.D.I.T.H. manages to expel the invading programme from his mainframe.

Vision, Tommy, and the AIs investigate the killer and discover that her victims were all board members of Markridge Biotech, whose founders developed the first stable synthetic consciousness, the precursor to their Artificial Intelligence. The Butcherbird Killer has collected biomarkers from her victims including blood, fingerprints and an eyeball. The only surviving founder of the company is Katerina Wells.

With Lisa's help, Vision and Tommy infiltrate a gala hosted by Katerina Wells, where Vision tells Tommy about the ancient prototype J.I.M., an unstable synthetic man whose emotions caused him to combust.

Tommy realises Vision has kept Ultron's existence secret and storms away from the party. The Butcherbird Killer attacks the gala and reveals herself as Jocasta, a synthezoid based on Markridge co-founder Dr. Josephine "Jo" Carrington.

Unable to defeat her, Vision allows Ultron to take control. But Ultron manipulates Jocasta into killing Katerina Wells, preventing the synthezoid from obtaining the final biomarker. Ultron then betrays Vision and locks him and the other AIs out of their systems, and leaves the gala with Tommy in tow.

03:04 --> 03:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Super.

04:32 --> 04:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like half the avatar and half of the original android on either side of the punk-punk-punk-punk-punk-punk-punk-punk from most of the punk-pups have seen it.
04:43 --> 04:43 [SPEAKER_00]: It's got cool.
04:43 --> 04:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I like that.

04:54 --> 04:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Look.
04:54 --> 04:55 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
04:55 --> 04:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's fine.
04:56 --> 04:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
04:56 --> 05:00 [SPEAKER_01]: But we anyway, we are here to talk about it.
05:00 --> 05:01 [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to discuss it.
05:01 --> 05:08 [SPEAKER_01]: We're here to get into the philosophy behind the AI's.
05:09 --> 05:09 [SPEAKER_01]: So.
05:10 --> 05:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Derek, do you want to tell us who gave us what we're wearing and how with the episode details?
05:15 --> 05:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, these two are something.
05:16 --> 05:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the show was created for TV by Terry Masellus at former show winner of Star Trek Picard as we mentioned before.
05:22 --> 05:30 [SPEAKER_00]: And executive producers for the show are Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbam, Mary LaVinus, Terry Matales himself, Jack Shateford and Christopher J.
05:30 --> 05:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Burn.
05:31 --> 05:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Episode three was written by Cindy Apple, who wrote five episodes of Star Trek Picard, including three on season two and two on season three as well.
05:39 --> 05:51 [SPEAKER_00]: And Episode 4 was written by Michael Taylor, mostly known as a sci-fi writer who started as an instructor at Deep Space Nine, and Voyager before moving on to do many episodes of Battlestar Galatica, Caprica, and into the Badlands.
05:51 --> 05:52 [SPEAKER_00]: He's a producer of this show as well.
05:53 --> 05:55 [SPEAKER_00]: And so nice to have him on board for Episode 4.
05:56 --> 06:09 [SPEAKER_00]: The episodes are both directed by Ganger Matero, who's directed episodes of Pluribus, the Witcher, and Monarch Legacy of Monsters, but also directed three episodes of Agatha all along, including episode six, eight, and the finale episode nine as well.
06:09 --> 06:12 [SPEAKER_00]: So, Ganger, making a massive stamp on the Agatha all along?
06:13 --> 06:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, making a massive stamp on this... Trinity?
06:18 --> 06:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Roger the G?
06:21 --> 06:21 [SPEAKER_01]: of shows.
06:22 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_01]: I know right now it's a trilogy.
06:24 --> 06:24 [SPEAKER_01]: That's a pleasure.
06:24 --> 06:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think with the ratings we make it they may extend it out?
06:30 --> 06:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I would hope so, when we get to the end, we'll find out whether there's a story there, to extend it into, but they have been advertising as the end of the trilogy.
06:41 --> 06:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Disney does love its trilogy to remember, so yeah, although there are, what, five Toy Story movies?
06:48 --> 06:49 [SPEAKER_01]: And how many avatars?
06:51 --> 06:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's ending with four of the box office for the last one.
06:56 --> 07:00 [SPEAKER_01]: So poor Cameron he can go cry in his bed full of money.
07:01 --> 07:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I mean I was wondering if a choice or where is the very rich Cameron.
07:04 --> 07:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll let it go But Chris, do you want to tell us what that gave us with the synopsis for episode three episode four of vision quest episode three reboot first
07:14 --> 07:18 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, vision and Tommy go on the run after their escape from the Paladin's attack.
07:18 --> 07:26 [SPEAKER_01]: The adamantian bullet that's used on vision begins to shut down his body until he uses battery acid to halt his permanent death.
07:27 --> 07:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Inside his neural network, the team of Friday, you, dummy, and Edith realize they need to do a full reboot to fully fix vision.
07:36 --> 07:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Meanwhile, Ultron discovers that a serial killer called Butcherberg is leaving extra wings at the crime scene of their victims.
07:44 --> 07:49 [SPEAKER_01]: When Paladin accidentally tracks the killer down, he reveals it's an android on a murder mission.
07:50 --> 07:53 [SPEAKER_01]: After he escapes Paladin's client, counsels their contract with them.
07:54 --> 08:09 [SPEAKER_01]: When hiding out in a hotel, Vision convinces Tommy to overcome his fear of water, and uses speedpies to restart Vision's broken body, but the reboot attracts the robot's attention and the butcher bird begins attacking Vision's mind space.
08:10 --> 08:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't resist putting in reboot attracts the robot, I know she's not really a robot.
08:18 --> 08:19 [SPEAKER_00]: on the episode 4 Chris malware.
08:20 --> 08:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Sure, the butcher bird killer possesses vision and threatens to harm Tommy if he interferes in her plan, but either manages to expel the invading program from his mainframe, vision Tommy and the AI's investigate the killer and discovered that her victims were all board members of Markridge Biotech whose founders developed a first stable synthetic consciousness
08:47 --> 08:53 [SPEAKER_01]: The butcher work killer has collected biomarkers from her victims, including blood, fingerprints, and even an eyeball.
08:54 --> 08:57 [SPEAKER_01]: The only surviving fan of the company is Katarina Wells.
08:57 --> 09:02 [SPEAKER_01]: With Lisa's help, Vision and Tommy infiltrated Gala hosted by Katarina Wells.
09:02 --> 09:07 [SPEAKER_01]: where, Vision tells Tommy about the ancient prototype, J.I.M.
09:07 --> 09:12 [SPEAKER_01]: or Jim, an unstable synthetic man who's a motion caused him to combust.
09:13 --> 09:19 [SPEAKER_01]: When Tommy realized Vision has kept Ultron's existence secret, he storms away from the party.
09:20 --> 09:23 [SPEAKER_01]: The British were killer, taxed the gala and reveals herself as
09:31 --> 09:44 [SPEAKER_01]: unable to defeat her, vision allows Ultron to take control, but Ultron manipulates her cost into killing Katarina Wells, preventing the synthesizer from obtaining the final biomarker.
09:44 --> 09:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Ultron then betrays vision and locks him and the other eyes out of their system, and leaves the gala with Tommy and Toe.
09:53 --> 10:12 [SPEAKER_01]: shock her oh John the bad guy betrays the good guys oh John betraying people I thought he changed yes Leopard can't shave and start to change his spot and then they were going to break out shaved spots he didn't think he can't do that either shh shh shh shh shh shh shh shh shh shh shh
10:12 --> 10:33 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of eshes, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh, shesh
10:35 --> 10:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about the butcher bird killer to begin with as this is kind of a central bit of both of the episodes, really.
10:45 --> 10:51 [SPEAKER_00]: The butcher bird killer, I kind of gave a little hint to this last week that on the screen.
10:53 --> 11:12 [SPEAKER_00]: that Ultron is watching, already in the first two episodes, there were some indications of a serial killer on the loose, and also on that newspaper that Vision had in his hands, there's an investigation into the particular killer, so they were planting those seeds for Osis viewers, that's something would be happening with this with this killer.
11:13 --> 11:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So I like that it's Ultron that realizes something weird is going on.
11:17 --> 11:21 [SPEAKER_00]: There's been murders happening out in the open and he's still in the realizes, oh, hang on a second.
11:21 --> 11:25 [SPEAKER_00]: This might be connected to the thing that's going on in the real world.
11:25 --> 11:27 [SPEAKER_00]: And you may need to have a look at this.
11:28 --> 11:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I like that because it has it shows again once more how Ultron has been circumventing well now the late Jarvis his programming as soon as his cyber security because we see that Ultron has got an email out of electric carrier pigeon.
11:50 --> 11:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And then now he's been getting feeds it, like TV feed, live streaming feeds, whatever you want to call it.
11:59 --> 12:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Looking like a majority of them being new streams, new cast, things like that.
12:06 --> 12:07 [SPEAKER_01]: But it is interesting to see.
12:08 --> 12:12 [SPEAKER_01]: I like the butcher bird killer motif.
12:13 --> 12:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's very striking visually.
12:15 --> 12:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's striking.
12:17 --> 12:20 [SPEAKER_01]: It feels almost like it should be in a Gotham show.
12:22 --> 12:40 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like the killer host or something like that or one of the other very notorious Batman Rogues where you'll see they pose the body in such good task and gruesome and it's unique to see it in such a synthetic.
12:41 --> 12:41 [SPEAKER_01]: show.
12:43 --> 12:45 [SPEAKER_01]: I mean synthetic in the best way.
12:45 --> 12:47 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a show about robots and AI, isn't?
12:47 --> 12:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
12:48 --> 12:49 [SPEAKER_01]: I know I get it.
12:49 --> 12:51 [SPEAKER_01]: It's family and all those other bits.
12:51 --> 12:54 [SPEAKER_01]: But it is, you would not expect to see kind of
12:56 --> 13:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I was not expecting, I think I should say, that I wasn't expecting to see dead bodies to that pose motif.
13:03 --> 13:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, and like we commented on the first couple episodes that the show is skewing a bit older.
13:09 --> 13:13 [SPEAKER_00]: And they're, you know, we've had people shot in the head, you know, there's...
13:13 --> 13:21 [SPEAKER_00]: People are considered once these shows went to Disney+, we would only be seeing every show and every character aimed towards 12-year-olds.
13:21 --> 13:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I think we can be pretty safe in saying that some of the Disney shows are skewing to an older age group, and this is skewing towards people that
13:30 --> 13:40 [SPEAKER_00]: five, six years ago, watched one division, and they're now over 80, you know, they may have watched one division when they were 12, and now they're going 80, or going into their 20s.
13:40 --> 13:45 [SPEAKER_00]: So their taste will have changed, and they will have grown since back then.
13:45 --> 13:48 [SPEAKER_00]: So it makes lots of sense that you'd have this character.
13:48 --> 13:50 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll have much more
13:51 --> 14:01 [SPEAKER_00]: brutal show like this and having murders right there and investigation going on, you know, again, I love that each of these episodes has a very distinct vision once again.
14:01 --> 14:08 [SPEAKER_00]: It's not as distinct as one division going through, going through sitcoms or actual ongoing through musicals.
14:09 --> 14:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Each of these episodes has a different type of investigation going on, a different different view on it.
14:14 --> 14:20 [SPEAKER_00]: So having this murder mystery at the center of these two episodes was a really interesting idea.
14:20 --> 14:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Building on that, because I think you hit a nail on the head for me, which is each of the episodes feel very unique.
14:28 --> 14:31 [SPEAKER_01]: It almost feels like Terry Matales and some of
14:40 --> 14:51 [SPEAKER_01]: I know it was filmed there, and the locations are so well, I'm a majority of the locations are set in the UK and I can confirm how much of it was filmed in the UK, but you're right.
14:51 --> 15:06 [SPEAKER_01]: You could see this as one of the crime shows you would see on Channel 4, like a slightly older one, whereas when they're in the hotel and the pool and the hotel that they say at,
15:07 --> 15:17 [SPEAKER_01]: you could see that on the bill, which is a like a cop show kind of beef force, that's more of the UK's like CSI.
15:17 --> 15:22 [SPEAKER_00]: It's more of a 500 procedural on every week for about 40 years.
15:23 --> 15:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
15:23 --> 15:24 [SPEAKER_00]: And hasn't changed.
15:24 --> 15:25 [SPEAKER_01]: It is just drama.
15:26 --> 15:29 [SPEAKER_00]: But it's an interesting idea that they're merging those two styles as well.
15:29 --> 15:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Or seeing the prestige drama and the standard bee cups, both being merged in deficits.
15:34 --> 15:36 [SPEAKER_00]: That's quite cool.
15:36 --> 15:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, you know, up until the moment where we see the red eyes underneath the hood of the butcher bird, it is a really
15:44 --> 15:49 [SPEAKER_00]: brutal idea, you know, that's something like it would come from Hannibal, it wouldn't be at a place there.
15:49 --> 15:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So when that murders the victims and leaves behind these etched wings like an angel below the body of each of the ones that's that it kills.
15:57 --> 16:02 [SPEAKER_00]: That's quite kind of interesting calling courage, I suppose, for for this killer.
16:03 --> 16:06 [SPEAKER_01]: It is, and like I said, the fact that we know
16:08 --> 16:11 [SPEAKER_01]: it's jacosta or becomes jacosta.
16:12 --> 16:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I was wondering how this would play out.
16:16 --> 16:28 [SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking for a few minutes is this going to be some, I don't know what, I think for a few minutes was this going to be
16:34 --> 16:54 [SPEAKER_01]: she's back from the dead and she's going after people who those people brought back the vision right like that was the people from the sword and like she's killing them all off like I was like I was trying to piece a lot of the bits together the fact that it is that kind of red haze and red eyes I was like oh
16:55 --> 17:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Is it evil wonder from one of the like alternate universes and then when you do see it is the butcher bird killer is jacosta and it isn't
17:11 --> 17:16 [SPEAKER_01]: It isn't different in many ways and looks the way she looks just fantastic which we can get to later.
17:17 --> 17:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just very cool.
17:19 --> 17:20 [SPEAKER_00]: It is, it is.
17:20 --> 17:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
17:21 --> 17:26 [SPEAKER_00]: And also kind of the other element of what she's doing where she's taking these.
17:27 --> 17:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Biomarker is taking the finger prints off of one of the victims taking the eyeball out of another one and taking the blood out of a third like these are all pretty brutal things that are happening and they're being described on screen They're all very important so you won't miss them.
17:43 --> 17:48 [SPEAKER_00]: You know you won't be sitting down with your six-row than the six-row might miss that someone's eye has been pulled out of their head
17:49 --> 17:50 [SPEAKER_00]: in an episode.
17:50 --> 18:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, really like this concept of the background and yeah, I was trying to put piece together who could possibly be, is it an AI gone, gone rogue?
18:00 --> 18:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Off, it's programming.
18:02 --> 18:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I have the turned on their human captors, is it, you know, a terminator has been created out of, uh, at a somebody that we don't know, yeah, you know, but yeah, very, very interested
18:18 --> 18:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Should we move on to code line number two?
18:20 --> 18:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
18:23 --> 18:26 [SPEAKER_00]: So code line number two, a death and reboot.
18:26 --> 18:34 [SPEAKER_00]: When we left Young Vision at the end of Episode Two, he was, yeah, seemed to be a lot more damaged than we thought.
18:34 --> 18:44 [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, we got an email in on our feedback episode that was asking the question, as to why the vision just end up in use is a laser beam to take out Paladin.
18:44 --> 18:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we find it quite quickly at the start of this episode
18:48 --> 18:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Those bullets, those element in bullets that were tearing through the body of vision pretty much almost killed him.
18:54 --> 18:55 [SPEAKER_00]: And that's how powerful they are.
18:55 --> 19:00 [SPEAKER_00]: He's just about holding it together, even with the sacrifice of Jarvis.
19:00 --> 19:01 [SPEAKER_00]: He's dead too.
19:01 --> 19:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I think they say something like 26 seconds left to live.
19:04 --> 19:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Before he pours that battery acid onto his onto his wound to almost suit you it up in a way.
19:10 --> 19:14 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's like he's like he's pushed his hand into a fire to characterize the wound.
19:14 --> 19:16 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's the way I saw it.
19:17 --> 19:26 [SPEAKER_00]: and by pouring this battery acid to himself and giving himself a little bit more time while the AI starts to work on their potential plan to save them.
19:27 --> 19:31 [SPEAKER_01]: And it is interesting because he is the way he is sent to the void.
19:32 --> 19:36 [SPEAKER_01]: You're like, oh, okay, does he need even when he's going to get the fix?
19:37 --> 19:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's going to need some form of proper repair because he is chunks are taking out of him by the shotgun bullet of armanthium.
19:47 --> 19:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it does look like he's taking and giving a lot of damage out.
19:51 --> 19:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
19:51 --> 19:52 [SPEAKER_01]: So this...
19:54 --> 20:01 [SPEAKER_01]: It's very much love death and robot slightly better than death and reboot, but you know Love that we boots.
20:02 --> 20:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, they love death and we would say together We will get there with their coat lines.
20:06 --> 20:15 [SPEAKER_01]: We will But this does lead to some fun interactions as like you said he had not much time after he used the battery acid and he gets to
20:16 --> 20:17 [SPEAKER_01]: that they get to the hotel.
20:18 --> 20:34 [SPEAKER_01]: And you do have that fun moment to boast, even through the kind of pain through all the bits, we have vision to degree an neutron in the background trying to almost parent Tommy?
20:35 --> 20:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
20:36 --> 20:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Like giving a no-no-no, when you're not going to kind of take that
20:42 --> 20:46 [SPEAKER_01]: It sets off all the machines, including the ATM.
20:47 --> 20:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
20:48 --> 20:51 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I have to say Paul that is out as best at this episode.
20:51 --> 20:59 [SPEAKER_00]: A reminder of his episode of One Division, where he eats the chewing gum, and that throws off his abilities.
21:00 --> 21:04 [SPEAKER_00]: He sets off a weirdness to his control of himself.
21:05 --> 21:10 [SPEAKER_00]: this time he's sneezing and it's setting off all the lights around him and then yes that's off the ATM.
21:10 --> 21:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Tommy was very quick to go.
21:13 --> 21:14 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll just arrange it with the boss.
21:14 --> 21:16 [SPEAKER_00]: You pick up the money basically.
21:17 --> 21:18 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to be the one to steal the money.
21:18 --> 21:24 [SPEAKER_00]: You can do that so you're also responsible for the scam that we're pulling effectively.
21:25 --> 21:34 [SPEAKER_00]: He relents because as Vision says I'm broken all kinds of ways, which is another great little line from Paul Bethany.
21:34 --> 22:03 [SPEAKER_00]: Really enjoy these moments in the car as well with Ultron in the back, you know, you mentioned while While visions trying to parent him and bears his terrible driving You see you see Ultron in the back Holding a mug that says father of the year and he goes, I guess I'll just keep this mug myself Saying he's a much better father than vision is Yeah, I have to say this episode was the funniest episode of the series and there was lots of great humor That I'm watching a multiple times catching all those little jokes that they're
22:03 --> 22:04 [SPEAKER_00]: that they're telling it.
22:04 --> 22:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I just thought was really, really good.
22:05 --> 22:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Paul Betney is particularly good in these moments.
22:08 --> 22:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't why he hasn't done as many comedies as you expect from, you know, all the way back to a night's tale.
22:13 --> 22:15 [SPEAKER_00]: We're just going to have a big break-out role.
22:17 --> 22:27 [SPEAKER_00]: He's always been really involved in comedy and then he got into the MCU and it's pretty much been serious stuff since then other than bits and wanders and now bits and in vision question.
22:27 --> 22:30 [SPEAKER_01]: So for me, the humor is James Spader.
22:31 --> 22:36 [SPEAKER_01]: It is the pure Boston Eagle dry humor, just the delivery.
22:36 --> 22:45 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just the delivery of the, like you said, those, well, I'll just keep this then, or like, he was like, oh, there's a good kid.
22:45 --> 22:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, just
22:55 --> 22:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Contact.
22:57 --> 23:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I I can't take anything away from Jan Spader wouldn't want to.
23:02 --> 23:13 [SPEAKER_00]: He's brilliant here as he was in an age of Ultron as he was the first two episodes, but it's Paul Bethany's understated version of Yes, Sumer that's really coming through in these two episodes.
23:13 --> 23:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's really, really strong.
23:15 --> 23:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He's holding his own He's just not as showy as Jan Spader is.
23:18 --> 23:23 [SPEAKER_00]: And, finally enough, there's a great idea to be with Jen Spay to this week, when I asked why he hasn't come back as Ultron before.
23:24 --> 23:30 [SPEAKER_00]: He basically said, I had a little break in filming of the blacklist.
23:30 --> 23:37 [SPEAKER_00]: I did my time on Age of Ultron, and then I worked in that show for 10 years, and I just finished working on that show, and now I'm back as Ultron.
23:37 --> 23:40 [SPEAKER_00]: So, really, I haven't had any break to do Ultron in the past.
23:40 --> 23:42 [SPEAKER_00]: He was talking about the fact that they wanted a back for
23:43 --> 23:50 [SPEAKER_00]: for what if, and for Marvel zombies, they didn't even have Ultron in there, and he couldn't fit it into his schedule, and he just works a one project at a time.
23:50 --> 23:51 [SPEAKER_01]: So, there you go.
23:51 --> 23:53 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm the Blacklist, and you can't go in.
23:53 --> 23:58 [SPEAKER_00]: 10 years, my 10 years for, like, that was a 22 episode to season chill as well.
23:58 --> 24:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, look, people like that stuff.
24:00 --> 24:10 [SPEAKER_01]: The fact that I went for 10 years, I remember watching the first season, I was like, oh, this is good, yeah, like, yeah, it was fun, and I'm like, oh, I missed nine more seasons than years of it.
24:10 --> 24:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, thank you.
24:12 --> 24:18 [SPEAKER_00]: But I know the show has massive fans as well, and understandably, she has various fantastic I'd watch him.
24:18 --> 24:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd watch him more.
24:19 --> 24:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we will watch him.
24:20 --> 24:21 [SPEAKER_01]: We will see much more of him.
24:22 --> 24:36 [SPEAKER_01]: But let's move from the outside inwards into the actual AI's, the other kind of Friday you dummy and eat it inside the normal network of vision as part of this reboot.
24:37 --> 24:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that the first thing that's going through Friday's had as well.
24:41 --> 24:44 [SPEAKER_00]: When we had this issue 10 minutes ago, Jarvis sacrificed himself.
24:44 --> 24:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Do I have to sacrifice myself now?
24:47 --> 24:48 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just going to go through each of the AI's.
24:48 --> 24:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And each one is just going to sacrifice himself to give vision a tiny bit more power.
24:53 --> 24:57 [SPEAKER_00]: And Edith comes into the rescue and kind of says, no, we set it as a task.
24:57 --> 24:58 [SPEAKER_00]: And we work through the task.
24:59 --> 25:02 [SPEAKER_00]: And I love that the result they get to is turn us off and on again.
25:02 --> 25:04 [SPEAKER_00]: And it will certainly be because that is.
25:05 --> 25:23 [SPEAKER_00]: what you need to do and everything's crashing around you on the computer try turning it off and on again and it may resolve the issue but I love that they have to work through it as a problem and that's the result they get to because just make it again great storytelling gets to a logical conclusion right we need to turn everything off do a full reboot and recess and we'll be fine.
25:25 --> 25:39 [SPEAKER_01]: It's great, except they are living inside a sense of joy too, has a huge bot internal combustion battery, so are they going to do this one?
25:39 --> 25:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
25:40 --> 25:40 [SPEAKER_03]: Wow!
25:41 --> 25:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Then they literally have to kill him.
25:44 --> 25:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
25:46 --> 25:47 [SPEAKER_01]: the full switch is fantastic.
25:48 --> 25:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But he does need to then get the reboot requires some help from his little son, which we'll say for later point.
25:57 --> 26:05 [SPEAKER_01]: One point I did want to like they discover is that Edith is a lot more emotional.
26:06 --> 26:08 [SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about the AI and how they are
26:10 --> 26:36 [SPEAKER_01]: unique and like they're all different versions and different kind of styles and different kind of tweak kind of pieces but it is interesting to see them have such emotion and then seeing the discovery of Edith and Friday on who their real life counterparts were and how they were built based on the best and kind of ideas of
26:37 --> 26:44 [SPEAKER_01]: people in the background, be a tongue-starks-life, or hunting-starks-life, or, yeah, such and such.
26:44 --> 26:45 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really like this.
26:45 --> 26:48 [SPEAKER_00]: I thought this is a really nice touch, you know, just keeping...
26:50 --> 26:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Tony Stark still alive in the story of vision.
26:53 --> 27:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I think is really important to know and we'll have that moment in the car when vision is dying effectively and Tommy's asking can anybody help fix it?
27:03 --> 27:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Can we take it a hospital and he's gone more hospital or under any idea how to fix me.
27:07 --> 27:13 [SPEAKER_00]: The only people that do are banner and Stark and one's dead and the other one is unavailable right now effectively.
27:15 --> 27:29 [SPEAKER_00]: there's that kind of piece of it and then we hear about the other versions of Friday and of of Edith the other version of Friday is is his former care so that's where he got the
27:30 --> 27:31 [SPEAKER_00]: the look of her.
27:32 --> 27:38 [SPEAKER_00]: We know Jarvis because Jarvis used to be Howard Stark's bookler, effectively, back in Asian character days.
27:38 --> 27:42 [SPEAKER_00]: That's why he looks like James Darcy, which I thought was a great touch as well.
27:42 --> 27:50 [SPEAKER_00]: And Edith was a test pilot for all the Rand Stark industries, so some of the Tony would have known really, really well.
27:50 --> 27:56 [SPEAKER_00]: And he admired her and gave her a personality to match, which I just think was really good.
27:56 --> 27:59 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, a great moment with either, when she realizes,
28:00 --> 28:15 [SPEAKER_00]: What her past self was like and it almost takes a bit of that personality on board and wonders why She would be saddled with this person who'd had it had an awful life in her mind because she'd lost her husband in an accident
28:16 --> 28:41 [SPEAKER_00]: And interestingly, it's Ultron that that talks to her about it and says, no, he wanted to respect the person that he loved so much and transferred her image and her personality into you as a to keep her memory alive, effectively, which I just thought was really a heartfelt and again, seeing these AIs develop their own personalities continually as they live inside the mind division is really interesting.
28:42 --> 28:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because prior they weren't inside a supercomputer, which is it it's interesting to think about because I do wonder
28:53 --> 28:58 [SPEAKER_01]: which of these characters will live on past episode 8.
28:59 --> 29:14 [SPEAKER_01]: So, because kind of we know Edith was like she was housed in the glasses from Tony, we know Friday was in some of the suits, so again it's just a kind of like
29:15 --> 29:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you and Domi still sitting somewhere and start in one of the stark kind of vaults somewhere or are they now that they're all in the vision?
29:28 --> 29:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Will they and we've seen another sense of it?
29:32 --> 29:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Do we guess?
29:34 --> 29:45 [SPEAKER_01]: By the end of this, a family, like, do we get real world bodies, kind of think, and be interesting to see how much or what they do of that.
29:45 --> 29:47 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, people.
29:47 --> 29:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
29:48 --> 29:53 [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think this is one of the strengths of the show is is showing each of these AI's growing.
29:53 --> 29:56 [SPEAKER_00]: You get the feeling at the beginning of the series that every single one of them had there,
29:57 --> 30:01 [SPEAKER_00]: job to do when mission returned from working in the pub.
30:01 --> 30:11 [SPEAKER_00]: He downloaded at the end of the day and got his input from each of the various AI's that were in there telling him how to live his life and how the day went and just effectively just being a constant loop.
30:12 --> 30:17 [SPEAKER_00]: But now we see each of them as growing, you know, Chris you mentioned last week that you would expect that you'd see dummy talking.
30:18 --> 30:22 [SPEAKER_00]: and that it would be actually a great intelligence that was never seen before.
30:23 --> 30:30 [SPEAKER_00]: In Tony Stark's hands, Domey was literally a robot that picked things up and annoyed Tony Stark, so he gave him the name Domey.
30:30 --> 30:34 [SPEAKER_00]: Inside Vision, he's now able to say poetry at a funeral.
30:34 --> 30:42 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, a very massive growth for a character, but so seeing all of these characters grow really do show that each of them are developing.
30:42 --> 31:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Inside of vision, in a way that they never would under the guise of Tony Starker was using them for a very specific purpose, you know, so I really like that in god that moment with With Friday recanting the death of Tony Stark and how it all of the heroes around her So what happened and she lost half of our world in that day, you know, because she lost Tony that's it was really really well done so many great moments in these two episodes for the characters definitely
31:11 --> 31:27 [SPEAKER_01]: But we do get the reboot and actually let's talk about the reboot and combine it with our next point the the next code line because it is connected and it takes place in the pool so our next code line is.
31:31 --> 31:34 [SPEAKER_01]: the very essence of speed, yes.
31:34 --> 31:40 [SPEAKER_01]: So, let's talk about Tommy and Tommy.
31:41 --> 31:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the two.
31:42 --> 31:45 [SPEAKER_01]: We get a lot of, we get the history here.
31:45 --> 31:48 [SPEAKER_01]: We get the full background of
31:49 --> 31:51 [SPEAKER_01]: What is going on?
31:51 --> 31:53 [SPEAKER_01]: How Tommy came to be?
31:53 --> 31:54 [SPEAKER_01]: We get the pool.
31:55 --> 32:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Like this is what I would consider the flashback episode Like like but it's called in a way that isn't you're standard Okay, well, here's like a five minute scene of a boy called Thomas and he drank
32:12 --> 32:34 [SPEAKER_01]: See, you do get the full recount of Thomas and his time in foster care and his parents or the lack thereof and being in group homes with these other boys who bullied him and then he just drowned in the pool, but he didn't drown in the pool.
32:35 --> 32:50 [SPEAKER_01]: But at that point someone came back, but it wasn't just him, there was another person, there was a Tommy, and Tommy is there as much as Thomas is there, and it's interesting because I can't I think it's interesting today, but it is a big cause
32:51 --> 32:53 [SPEAKER_01]: It's the two souls.
32:53 --> 32:56 [SPEAKER_01]: There are two souls inhabiting this body.
32:56 --> 33:02 [SPEAKER_01]: We talked about this last week, but it becomes more and showed this week in this episode.
33:03 --> 33:09 [SPEAKER_01]: In particular, because it's one of the he feels like he can't embrace his powers.
33:10 --> 33:12 [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a gift.
33:12 --> 33:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very mutant to ask kind of analogy where it's like, it's not a gift.
33:17 --> 33:17 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a curse.
33:18 --> 33:33 [SPEAKER_01]: And because his gift of speed and electricity is actually a curse that came with the pool, the drowning and his invasion that is Tommy.
33:33 --> 33:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's really interesting that they added something else to the kind of mythos here, which is why this is the title of the of the code line.
33:42 --> 33:50 [SPEAKER_00]: The character of Tommy Maxim off in the comic books is superhero name is speed and we hear visions say to him, you are the very essence of speed, giving him that title for the first time, giving him his
33:51 --> 33:59 [SPEAKER_00]: is super here a name, but interestingly he says, because you can vibrate your molecule so fast, that's why you're able to phase through things.
33:59 --> 34:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So he's doing what Vision does.
34:00 --> 34:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Vision is the one that phases, that's one of his pairs.
34:03 --> 34:06 [SPEAKER_00]: He's able to phase and people can't hear him with a punch.
34:06 --> 34:07 [SPEAKER_00]: We've seen that multiple times.
34:07 --> 34:10 [SPEAKER_00]: He can phase and things will pass through him in this episode.
34:10 --> 34:36 [SPEAKER_00]: We see Tommy which I absolutely love trying to get a can of iron brew And he's trying so hard that his hand goes through glass and and he's got his hand on the iron brew But he won't take it out because he really wants that can it's very good scholars representation there They'll break through any wall together to get our own brew But I really do really like that But that's the kind of manifestation of his parents and it's not
34:36 --> 34:51 [SPEAKER_00]: dealt with like you saw on the flash let's say the DC superhero where he it's part of his him using the speed force allows him to pass through things this is more connected to visions powers than I kind of had suspected in the past you know.
34:52 --> 34:58 [SPEAKER_00]: I was saying that he was a speedster because, well, his uncle was, and I must have passed down through his uncle Pietro being quick silver.
34:58 --> 35:02 [SPEAKER_00]: But actually, it makes a lot more sense that his powers aren't exactly like that.
35:02 --> 35:05 [SPEAKER_00]: His powers are closer and style to the visions powers.
35:06 --> 35:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's quite cool.
35:07 --> 35:14 [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, the discussion that the two of them have were vision is trying to get him on side to reboot him.
35:15 --> 35:25 [SPEAKER_00]: And he's constantly going into Tommy in the room and running through these simulations of their conversation so that he can try and encourage Tommy to help him.
35:26 --> 35:29 [SPEAKER_00]: It's really good because you don't realize what's actually happening.
35:29 --> 35:32 [SPEAKER_00]: You think they're having a conversation and Tommy's storming out at the end of the conversation.
35:32 --> 35:34 [SPEAKER_00]: But actually he's running through
35:35 --> 35:37 [SPEAKER_00]: multiple simulations over and over again.
35:38 --> 35:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And then realizes that actually the reason why it's never working in any of the simulations because he doesn't know Tommy well enough.
35:43 --> 35:47 [SPEAKER_00]: So he doesn't know what his reaction is really going to be to any of these conversations.
35:48 --> 35:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I thought that was really interesting.
35:50 --> 35:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Really cool.
35:51 --> 36:07 [SPEAKER_01]: The visual of that is fantastic where you had multiple visions and multiple just sitting there kind of just saying something and then like are trying another approach and then not working so he sits in certain place.
36:07 --> 36:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Other approaches does a different thing.
36:10 --> 36:16 [SPEAKER_01]: so it's so it but each was resulting in Tommy's storming off.
36:17 --> 36:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly exactly because that's the outcome that that he feels is always going to happen with Tommy because he doesn't know well that if I love I love the idea I also love that they had a small wonder a little low in American sitcom from the 80s playing in the background.
36:30 --> 36:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Again
36:31 --> 36:47 [SPEAKER_00]: It's so weird that to show that I remember watching when I was a kid, but I don't think it ever has been repeated since the mid-80s when it was on television, so I can't, I can't imagine this kid would be watching a small wonder on TV and a hotel in the middle of England.
36:48 --> 36:51 [SPEAKER_01]: He does call out that he loves the mould, the oldies.
36:51 --> 36:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
36:51 --> 36:56 [SPEAKER_01]: He says he loves the oldies, which we are known as code for what happened in.
36:58 --> 36:59 [SPEAKER_01]: a rescue.
37:00 --> 37:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
37:01 --> 37:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
37:01 --> 37:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And it's likely that vision's putting it on the TV for him because that's what his mom would have done.
37:07 --> 37:10 [SPEAKER_00]: That's the kind of way that you see that.
37:11 --> 37:15 [SPEAKER_00]: I also want to point out something here because I think was quite interesting.
37:15 --> 37:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Just a little connection to Avengers Endgame.
37:19 --> 37:20 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know whether you would have cautious.
37:21 --> 37:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Vision was murdered by Thanos when he needed to get the stone that was in Vision's head, so he didn't get to the end of end game.
37:31 --> 37:34 [SPEAKER_00]: One of the big things about the end of end game is that Dr.
37:34 --> 37:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Strange has been running through 40 million combinations to find the one that will allow the Avengers to win beat Thanos.
37:41 --> 37:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I love here that Vision calls out, I ran through a quintillion simulations to find out the best way to deal with you.
37:48 --> 37:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So if Vision had survived to the end of infinity war, he probably would have done all the same calculations that that's strange had done.
37:57 --> 37:59 [SPEAKER_00]: I just think it's interesting that you can compare
38:00 --> 38:10 [SPEAKER_00]: the two of them when using the timestamp and the other when using their enhanced brain pair and both them would have come to the same conclusion, what's the path that we would have gone to to beat Thanos.
38:10 --> 38:15 [SPEAKER_00]: And again, vision someone that would have the same cold look at the world that Dr.
38:15 --> 38:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Strange has sacrificed everybody and we can reboot it in the future.
38:18 --> 38:21 [SPEAKER_00]: It's probably a conclusion that Ultram would have come to as well.
38:21 --> 38:23 [SPEAKER_00]: So just like that there's a little connection
38:29 --> 38:33 [SPEAKER_01]: fascinating to see how well they are building on this character.
38:34 --> 38:36 [SPEAKER_01]: We've known vision for one or two films.
38:36 --> 38:42 [SPEAKER_01]: We got even more of him in vision quest where we hear but grief and all the other bits.
38:43 --> 38:49 [SPEAKER_01]: I need to see how he has become especially with the ship of Thesis.
38:50 --> 38:52 [SPEAKER_01]: kind of thought experiment.
38:52 --> 39:06 [SPEAKER_01]: He's become this philosopher, this soul, this kind of arty soul, like I use soul as kind of the artistic version of it.
39:06 --> 39:13 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and seeing Paul Batney here portray the cold calculating white vision and being able to deliver these points.
39:15 --> 39:26 [SPEAKER_01]: And then, again, we speak about the other AIs in our last book, co-point, in our kind of section where talk we were talking about, had the AIs of growing.
39:26 --> 39:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Here we see vision growing with the vision growing, the white vision growing, because he manages to understand and convince time he to go in the pool to help him, to use his powers, to shock him back.
39:45 --> 39:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Where Edith pulls the plug along with Friday.
39:50 --> 39:57 [SPEAKER_01]: You get fish and he dies and Tommy's in the water, and then you get that very Hollywood-esque.
39:58 --> 40:04 [SPEAKER_01]: No, we're not in you go zoom zoom zoom, but this time he's using his vibrating hand.
40:04 --> 40:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's um And it is it is
40:09 --> 40:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Very cinematic.
40:10 --> 40:11 [SPEAKER_01]: It is cool.
40:11 --> 40:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Very Hollywood.
40:12 --> 40:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
40:13 --> 40:14 [SPEAKER_00]: It's really cool.
40:14 --> 40:22 [SPEAKER_00]: And you know, this is how vision was brought to life to begin with, or used as Sammer, may all near to to restart as far as with lightning.
40:22 --> 40:27 [SPEAKER_00]: And here we have, Tommy doing something similar with a speed force or a speedster abilities.
40:28 --> 40:30 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, so it was going to work.
40:30 --> 40:35 [SPEAKER_00]: It was destined to work because that's how he's brought to life to begin with, which is again, another great circular moment.
40:35 --> 40:36 [SPEAKER_00]: But you're right.
40:36 --> 40:37 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is.
40:37 --> 40:39 [SPEAKER_00]: this is the thing about this show.
40:39 --> 40:45 [SPEAKER_00]: It was always going to be a very in-depth thoughtful show as opposed to a massive action show.
40:45 --> 40:48 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what we know of the character revision.
40:48 --> 40:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's action in here, of course.
40:50 --> 40:58 [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's an amazing that we've gotten through almost a full episode of that mentioning Paladin who's bringing loads of the action in this episode.
40:59 --> 41:01 [SPEAKER_00]: But it's fine, there'll be more of Paladin in the future,
41:04 --> 41:10 [SPEAKER_00]: the Butcherberg Killer and all about vision and Tali and the AI in both of these episodes really.
41:11 --> 41:15 [SPEAKER_00]: So we don't actually have a point on Paladin.
41:15 --> 41:17 [SPEAKER_00]: We can talk about it, of course.
41:17 --> 41:29 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, really love this really, love that we have speed now as the superhero and a proper dad telling him he does exist, even though he was worried that he didn't properly exist.
41:29 --> 41:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Should we move on to our fourth and not final?
41:33 --> 41:35 [SPEAKER_01]: but very celebratory, code line.
41:36 --> 41:36 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
41:39 --> 41:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I can mix again the third and fourth episodes we are moving on to the gala in our code line number four.
41:46 --> 41:54 [SPEAKER_00]: That reboot moment that we had at the end of episode three were all the lights in the city of London, went ash when, when,
41:54 --> 41:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Vision is rebooted, has alerted Jacosta to his presence.
41:59 --> 42:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And Jacosta suddenly appears inside the mind of Vision, or the butcher bird that she's still known at this moment.
42:07 --> 42:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Really love how that turns into the next episode, where we have...
42:13 --> 42:15 [SPEAKER_00]: all of his files being accessed by the butcher bird.
42:16 --> 42:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Inside his mind, and he's floating in the air, his eyes bright red.
42:21 --> 42:25 [SPEAKER_00]: You have dummy in you, both having the bright red eyes because of butcher bird is inside.
42:26 --> 42:27 [SPEAKER_00]: Really, look, think that's cool.
42:28 --> 42:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I love this, partially because when we had seen this in the trailers, and I'm the guy that watches
42:37 --> 42:42 [SPEAKER_01]: all the nerds like Rockstar, New Rockstar is an IGN and people who do the breakdance.
42:43 --> 42:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's like, oh, that guy's floating, it's wonder.
42:46 --> 42:50 [SPEAKER_01]: That's the kethon, the dark hole power, and all the like, nope.
42:51 --> 42:57 [SPEAKER_01]: That's just a representation of a hack within Visions Mind.
42:58 --> 42:59 [SPEAKER_01]: So I enjoyed that.
43:00 --> 43:01 [SPEAKER_01]: It is Harasco.
43:01 --> 43:03 [SPEAKER_01]: It is well done.
43:03 --> 43:08 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like suddenly they're all glowing and they're being invaded.
43:08 --> 43:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I didn't expect that the horror that they'd be drawing from was going to be the
43:22 --> 43:31 [SPEAKER_00]: calling on the power of code compelling, compelling the demon to be pushed out from inside visions body at it works as well, which is a big funnier.
43:32 --> 43:41 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, these are all great fun moments in the episode as we see as we see the thrust coming from the butcher bird that she will
43:41 --> 43:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Kill or Hirsch, Tommy, if Vision doesn't play ball, if Vision gets in the way of her plan.
43:49 --> 43:51 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, pushed out of the body.
43:52 --> 44:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Leader do a very funny line once again, where they're trying to solve the problem and you hear Edith go, no one likes a surprise, we're entry and they'll try on sitting in the corner going, do you even hear yourself anymore?
44:04 --> 44:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
44:05 --> 44:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Great fun.
44:08 --> 44:23 [SPEAKER_00]: but also just something that I do want to imagine we don't have to talk about it much at all as the keep talking about sword and what's happened with sword will we see sword being the actual villain in the background at some point later on in the season you know we we
44:24 --> 44:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Again, haven't got a specific point to my Paladin, but one of the things that happens here are Paladin is he gets another call from the client, and this time he's dropped completely the contract has been cancelled for Paladin.
44:36 --> 44:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Could that be swords?
44:38 --> 44:39 [SPEAKER_00]: That's got the contract damage.
44:39 --> 44:50 [SPEAKER_00]: They hide in themselves behind this voice box with a tie-all the way back to the villain back in one division, has he now a his own?
44:52 --> 44:55 [SPEAKER_01]: That guy has he become his own like villain.
44:55 --> 45:17 [SPEAKER_01]: He's he no longer villain warm-unger and he's just using mercenaries um if he went and sold Stark-tech sword tech things like that on the black market very similar to powerbroker Hmm, he has the ability and money to pay for politics Um, so it could be I I think
45:19 --> 45:21 [SPEAKER_01]: in the, yeah, no, it's highlight.
45:22 --> 45:23 [SPEAKER_01]: It's high in the likelihood.
45:24 --> 45:27 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's probably the best way of saying it.
45:28 --> 45:31 [SPEAKER_01]: But as I always like to call out,
45:32 --> 45:57 [SPEAKER_01]: sometimes in the in these shows when when we think they're going to zig they say yes they do yes they do I also like how they bring Lisa back so I like how they spell and we we remove um to cost a and you do get the the detective part of the show again where we we see the eyes figure ice
45:58 --> 46:06 [SPEAKER_01]: the gala and the connections to the to the biomarkers and all the bits and it is very fun.
46:06 --> 46:08 [SPEAKER_01]: It is that detective moment.
46:08 --> 46:21 [SPEAKER_00]: It's really good isn't it like just the where we're vision and ultrasound are sent off to to try and uncover inside Interpol's firewalls and break down through them and they're being tested just like any
46:21 --> 46:28 [SPEAKER_00]: AI is being tested, you know, and they're also trying to put in a password, and I love Ultron going.
46:28 --> 46:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I have one and a half million passwords that I'd like to access.
46:31 --> 46:32 [SPEAKER_00]: You have three attempts.
46:32 --> 46:34 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's really fun.
46:34 --> 46:43 [SPEAKER_00]: And I love that the password is, Sir Jabba the Mosh, and I'm just the pet's name for the, and so to get access to the name of the third victim.
46:43 --> 46:45 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's the, that's the plan, isn't it?
46:46 --> 46:55 [SPEAKER_00]: and they find out that all three victims worked for the same company for a make-ridge biotech and there's only one person left alive and one person dead.
46:55 --> 47:07 [SPEAKER_00]: That's how they connect Dr. Joe Carrington to the killer and how they connect the gala event to Cacherina Wells who is the final target they suspect.
47:07 --> 47:12 [SPEAKER_00]: So off they go to do another grift using Lisa and using Tommy's other abilities.
47:15 --> 47:16 [SPEAKER_00]: the party.
47:16 --> 47:35 [SPEAKER_01]: This reminded me of the Avengers, and I'm not talking about the MCU Avengers, I'm talking about your English 1960s, 70s Avengers show with Peel and Steed, and just the fun that that was that kind of drifting man from Uncle Style.
47:36 --> 47:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, where they solve a mystery and then they have to get into a swanky tube in order to confront the bad guy.
47:44 --> 47:45 [SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of bad stuff too, yeah.
47:46 --> 47:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
47:46 --> 47:53 [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a change bond video game this year and there's a couple of scenes where we have to do these kind of things very good.
47:53 --> 47:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
47:53 --> 47:56 [SPEAKER_01]: But you know James Wanda is the iconic.
47:56 --> 47:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I was going more the the British TV style.
47:59 --> 48:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
48:00 --> 48:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
48:01 --> 48:04 [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I really enjoyed had the griffed ghosts.
48:04 --> 48:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Like again, can you speak Italian?
48:08 --> 48:10 [SPEAKER_01]: Talk to me in high, high tone.
48:11 --> 48:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my, no, you're shouting too much.
48:14 --> 48:16 [SPEAKER_01]: And again, very fun.
48:16 --> 48:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I'll so you talk with the Paul Bettney.
48:20 --> 48:27 [SPEAKER_01]: comedic chops, and very understated in this one, again just playing that socially inept.
48:29 --> 48:32 [SPEAKER_01]: No, not saying that, so maybe socially unaware.
48:32 --> 48:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes.
48:33 --> 48:54 [SPEAKER_00]: I loved that the the griff they're running is actually the Tommy is Vision's boss and Vision has forgotten to buy the tickets because instantly Vision thought he was going to be the upper class guy that that had the the poor secretary in in Tommy and actually it's completely reversed because Tommy knows better Italian.
48:54 --> 48:54 [SPEAKER_00]: So
48:55 --> 48:58 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, for this purpose, let's say.
48:58 --> 49:09 [SPEAKER_00]: I think visions Italian isn't impeccable, of course, because he knows it all, but I love that they stayed this fight to draw attention away, so that Lisa can use her suit of hands.
49:10 --> 49:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Code of arms?
49:11 --> 49:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
49:12 --> 49:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I did that.
49:14 --> 49:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Of course she would have a coat of arms.
49:25 --> 49:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was it, that was it, that was it, they get into the gala and I want to call that one thing, again, we receive our second OG since the sword, the human torch, Easter egg.
49:42 --> 49:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
49:43 --> 49:51 [SPEAKER_01]: So in the previous episodes, internally, within visions, mine, they talk about the first of us.
49:51 --> 49:55 [SPEAKER_01]: And it is just a depiction of personal on fire.
49:55 --> 49:57 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, or a silhouette on fire.
49:58 --> 50:00 [SPEAKER_01]: And we knew that to be within the marvel.
50:01 --> 50:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Within the Marvel Cinematic Unius, we, universe, we have seen the human torch again, Jim Hammond, the, the, the first synthesoid that was part of the human was the title, yeah, yeah, and it's he was part of the invaders and the defenders back on the day in the early comics and
50:19 --> 50:29 [SPEAKER_01]: We then saw the body of Jim Hammond in the first Avenger, Captain America, the very first film at the Stark Expo.
50:30 --> 50:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
50:31 --> 50:43 [SPEAKER_01]: And then here we get another part of, within the Gala we see like parts of Jim Hammond, the human towards the synthetic man.
50:43 --> 50:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's pretty much the same model that was at Stark Expo in the first Avenger, so there's a little piece of it, I think one of the legs is gone a bit, but we see quite a bit of the same character there.
51:00 --> 51:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I actually recently re-reads the it's the first ever issue of Marvel Comics,
51:09 --> 51:19 [SPEAKER_00]: I read it on Marvel and Limited, which has the first appearance of the synthetic mountain that is basically a guy that just keeps exploding into fire over and over again, and that's his power.
51:20 --> 51:30 [SPEAKER_00]: So he goes around and is trying whether it's wondering whether to use it to intimidate bad guys to get money edge of them or should he be a good guy.
51:30 --> 51:34 [SPEAKER_00]: That's the story, but it's quite long, it's a good 30 page comic book story.
51:34 --> 51:36 [SPEAKER_00]: So definitely check it out.
51:37 --> 51:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I like this.
51:39 --> 51:43 [SPEAKER_01]: This paying him homage to the first of the most.
51:43 --> 51:44 [SPEAKER_01]: The very first of them all.
51:46 --> 51:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm very curious.
51:49 --> 52:02 [SPEAKER_01]: So in the ultimate universe, the, the, the reboot in the comic books, there is the human torch and he's in us and he survives into the, into the future, into the
52:06 --> 52:07 [SPEAKER_01]: did they bring him back?
52:08 --> 52:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Like I think it would just be, it would be cool.
52:12 --> 52:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I think just, and you could stunt cast this or you could and so it could be like a not a Ryan Gosling because now he's
52:22 --> 52:24 [SPEAKER_01]: something like that, like he did before.
52:25 --> 52:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Who was an eros, um, they had high styles.
52:28 --> 52:34 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the number, the end of the turnals, um, some casting just for the Chits and Jiggles.
52:35 --> 52:36 [SPEAKER_01]: So you could do that.
52:37 --> 52:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, of course.
52:39 --> 52:40 [SPEAKER_01]: I ain't so believe it.
52:41 --> 52:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Actually, no, I actually, like, you
52:50 --> 53:06 [SPEAKER_01]: doing that because it or probably more going to an actor we weren't aware of and I think that would be cool because then again we talked about this family motif
53:12 --> 53:28 [SPEAKER_01]: Well, okay, if we're talking about the, the, the, the, the father, the mother, the lineage, the parent parental best well this is the, the ultimate this is the genetic see this is your Adam in need.
53:29 --> 53:30 [SPEAKER_00]: or the opposite of Genet again.
53:30 --> 53:33 [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of the code to begin with.
53:34 --> 53:44 [SPEAKER_00]: So what's said there is that Dr. Pheneas Horton created JM, the synthetic man, the first of all of the AIs, but he burned way too bright, way too quickly and died.
53:45 --> 53:51 [SPEAKER_00]: This corporation that all of the murdered individuals are part of had the code for that.
53:52 --> 53:55 [SPEAKER_00]: It says, Dr. Josephine Carrington died in 2008.
53:57 --> 54:04 [SPEAKER_00]: And that stark tech, stark industries boss the code and that form the basis of JavaScript and form the basis of the first AI.
54:04 --> 54:14 [SPEAKER_00]: So I do like that kind of call back to pre Iron Man one effectively that at the time Tony Stark was still the war manga we're still selling.
54:15 --> 54:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Arms and was willing to buy technology to
54:18 --> 54:41 [SPEAKER_00]: to begin his process of creating AI's, which I think is really interesting, so going again, not just going back to a civil trauma where we saw Ultron for the first time or we saw Vision for the first time going back before the first Iron Man movie to say that before all of that started, somebody had to create an attempt like that Tony jumped off when he started standing on the shoulders of giants before.
54:42 --> 54:45 [SPEAKER_01]: He was definitely, he was, uh, he was, uh,
54:48 --> 54:52 [SPEAKER_01]: He was real, he was a genius, but he's still like to steal.
54:53 --> 54:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I wouldn't say steal, he paid for it.
54:55 --> 55:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's kind of the thing that everybody here has probably made a hell of a lot of money by selling those information on to Stark, you know, that's kind of what seems to be that they weren't doing anything with it, so they sold it on.
55:11 --> 55:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Katrina Wells is now going back to doing good works like her former co-founder, Joe Carrington, so that's where the antagonization, I guess, between Jakosta, the killer and the rest of the board has come from.
55:31 --> 55:50 [SPEAKER_00]: and cathering a says to Jakastah that she's trying to live out the wishes of Joe Carrington with creating a world where there's peace in our time, which is effectively, a quote that led to Ultron saying there's only peace in our time if we kill all humans effectively, so
55:51 --> 56:00 [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, in the very DNA of all of these characters is a bit of a bit of Joe Carrington as well Which is really cool a little fast.
56:00 --> 56:06 [SPEAKER_00]: I love when you went when I heard Katharine the saying A world where there's peace in our time.
56:06 --> 56:07 [SPEAKER_00]: I was going well.
56:07 --> 56:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I where I heard that before that was quite a big It's got a big quote from quite a bit.
56:11 --> 56:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, of course.
56:12 --> 56:19 [SPEAKER_00]: It's all trying Yeah, so I really love how this is all tying up we're four episodes in and now we've got
56:19 --> 56:23 [SPEAKER_00]: the key to all of these characters, um, really cool.
56:24 --> 56:30 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, speaking of Ultron, should we move in to our final code line for this episode?
56:31 --> 56:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm.
56:33 --> 56:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, code line number five, our final code line.
56:36 --> 56:37 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you want help from Ultron?
56:38 --> 56:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, we have the, uh, the battle between, uh, vision and, uh, Anger Costa, um, vision has a little stand-off with her to begin with and, uh, Anger Costa takes him out pretty darn quickly, uh, very quick there.
56:52 --> 57:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Like she's powerful, um, you kind of get the feeling that she's got a very similar, uh, code to Ultron, um, she is one of the most powerful beings out there, uh, and may have learned from, um,
57:07 --> 57:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll try and that you don't let Vision get very close to you know Vision and they'll try and kind of talk to them back then and she's not willing to do that so she she boes him directly across the room and he's still fighting with one hand tight behind his back he's still repairing he's still not a full power he's still not able to do all the things but we do
57:37 --> 57:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, absolutely.
57:38 --> 57:38 [SPEAKER_01]: There it is.
57:39 --> 57:50 [SPEAKER_01]: And you do get that, let me take the wheel moment from Ultron, which I found so sinister.
57:51 --> 58:12 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, and we've been watching a nicer old-tron over the last couple of episodes, we've been enjoying his quips in the back room, you know, all the time, and on the back of the back of the car, we've seen a lovely moment with himself and Edith, where he talked about respect and talked about how much Tony Stark must have loved, the person she was based on.
58:14 --> 58:18 [SPEAKER_00]: So you kind of go, well, maybe it is okay to let Ultron out.
58:18 --> 58:24 [SPEAKER_00]: But as he said before, everything's a bit of a coin flip for me, like destroy the entire planet.
58:24 --> 58:28 [SPEAKER_00]: 50, 50 chance, so yeah, he lets him in.
58:29 --> 58:31 [SPEAKER_00]: We also have that fantastic moment.
58:31 --> 58:40 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I don't know, skim over this one specific moment when Jacosta reveals herself as not being based on Joe.
58:40 --> 58:43 [SPEAKER_00]: She is Joe Carrington.
58:43 --> 58:44 [SPEAKER_00]: She reveals her face.
58:45 --> 58:50 [SPEAKER_00]: half Joe Carrington, and half the old-drunk type robot, which I thought was really interesting.
58:50 --> 58:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So you talked a bit earlier on Chris at the end of the series.
58:52 --> 58:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Could we have the AI's in artificial bodies?
58:55 --> 58:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Jakastah could just resetting that up.
58:57 --> 58:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
58:57 --> 59:07 [SPEAKER_00]: So we could have another AI in that body by the end of the season, or a suite of 25 of these AI's by the end of the season, all filled up with the AI's that are inside vision.
59:08 --> 59:10 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's entirely possible.
59:10 --> 59:10 [SPEAKER_00]: So
59:12 --> 59:28 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, Ultron takes over and does the coolest quick reverse that I just couldn't possibly imagine when I saw that we had Mary Metanol here from Battlestar Galatica in the role of Catarina Wells.
59:29 --> 59:29 [SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking, oh well,
59:30 --> 59:31 [SPEAKER_00]: here she is.
59:31 --> 59:33 [SPEAKER_00]: She's going to survive the rest of the season.
59:33 --> 59:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Vision will keep her safe and away from Chicago.
59:36 --> 59:41 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll know Ultron takes over Ultron goes, well, what's the quickest way to resolve this situation?
59:41 --> 59:48 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you need her to die and if she dies, then you don't get her bio key for whatever your villainous plan is going to be.
59:48 --> 59:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So I'll just put her in the way of your laser beam that you're trying to use to kill Vision.
59:52 --> 59:53 [SPEAKER_00]: Grant, okay, she's done
59:54 --> 59:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Can I just walk away now and we'll just go home to our homes?
59:56 --> 59:57 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right finished.
59:58 --> 01:00:05 [SPEAKER_00]: So Ultron once again going for the quickest if not best answer, which is usually leads to the death of somebody.
01:00:06 --> 01:00:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Crazy.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Crazy.
01:00:07 --> 01:00:08 [SPEAKER_00]: It is fantastic.
01:00:09 --> 01:00:11 [SPEAKER_01]: I did expect the man with Donald will be there.
01:00:11 --> 01:00:15 [SPEAKER_01]: I thought she was going to be actually the bad proguide.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:00:15 --> 01:00:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I thought they were setting her
01:00:20 --> 01:00:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Yep, because she was part of this, she had wanted vision to build her next blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, but no, within the split seconds, she is no more, and seeing,
01:00:39 --> 01:00:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Paul Batney here and body, boltron.
01:00:43 --> 01:00:46 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, it's, it's just, it's perfect.
01:00:46 --> 01:00:55 [SPEAKER_01]: I know they recorded both lines and you had Paul Batney to speaking normally and then have James Vader repeat the same lines, which is not easy, by the way.
01:00:55 --> 01:00:58 [SPEAKER_01]: No, like lip syncing to that.
01:00:58 --> 01:01:02 [SPEAKER_01]: But just, his demeanor changed.
01:01:03 --> 01:01:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he's so deeply different.
01:01:05 --> 01:01:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I love, I love even Jakastakal's election.
01:01:08 --> 01:01:11 [SPEAKER_00]: You are completely different than you were a moment to go.
01:01:11 --> 01:01:14 [SPEAKER_00]: So she knows instantly that something is different.
01:01:15 --> 01:01:22 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I love that he does a great job of impersonating James Spader inside the body of vision.
01:01:22 --> 01:01:23 [SPEAKER_00]: It's deadly, really cool.
01:01:24 --> 01:01:27 [SPEAKER_00]: But of course, that's not the last movement that I'll try and does.
01:01:27 --> 01:01:29 [SPEAKER_00]: Of course, he got the body now.
01:01:29 --> 01:01:37 [SPEAKER_00]: So by now, I'm going to shut down everything inside Vision's body and take control of real world vision, fantastic.
01:01:39 --> 01:01:41 [SPEAKER_01]: And key grabs Tommy.
01:01:42 --> 01:01:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm walks away.
01:01:45 --> 01:01:47 [SPEAKER_01]: And this is where I find
01:01:48 --> 01:02:03 [SPEAKER_01]: I do find it also, like, slightly hypocritical of poor old Tommy here, going, oh my God, you kept secret from me that vision, that old trans in there, you're brain with you at two vision.
01:02:04 --> 01:02:06 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, you barely know the loud.
01:02:07 --> 01:02:09 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is like, okay, yes, I get it.
01:02:10 --> 01:02:23 [SPEAKER_01]: They have also done news clippings in the background exactly how the genocidal Sokovia Ultron get the idea to get us Galatex place on the anniversary of the Sokovia tax crisis, you know, yes
01:02:24 --> 01:02:31 [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, there was a very fantastic easter egg that one of the people being interviewed for the Sikovia attacks is Terry Metales.
01:02:32 --> 01:02:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Very good.
01:02:33 --> 01:02:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:02:33 --> 01:02:39 [SPEAKER_01]: So he got his little cameo there and a non-speaking non-sounding role.
01:02:40 --> 01:02:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Very good.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
01:02:41 --> 01:02:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Why not?
01:02:42 --> 01:02:43 [SPEAKER_00]: She says on saddle the time he might as well.
01:02:43 --> 01:02:44 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah exactly.
01:02:44 --> 01:02:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Stick a camera.
01:02:46 --> 01:02:48 [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think the thing that
01:02:48 --> 01:02:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably forgotten is that, of course, everybody in the world thinks that Ultram was destroyed by vision.
01:02:56 --> 01:03:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Before the series, we all thought that, but we knew James Bader was going back, so they had to have a way to work around it, right?
01:03:01 --> 01:03:06 [SPEAKER_00]: That's what writers do, so it's only in this season that we've found out that
01:03:07 --> 01:03:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Ultron's been kept alive, his code has been kept alive inside a vision since that very moment back in age of Ultron basically so.
01:03:15 --> 01:03:17 [SPEAKER_00]: So that's Toby's realization.
01:03:17 --> 01:03:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He's like hang on a second.
01:03:18 --> 01:03:21 [SPEAKER_00]: You said there were four AIs in there and now you're saying this five.
01:03:21 --> 01:03:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, got the number wrong.
01:03:22 --> 01:03:24 [SPEAKER_00]: When you can't do that, you're a massive super brain computer.
01:03:25 --> 01:03:25 [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't get it wrong.
01:03:26 --> 01:03:30 [SPEAKER_00]: You were lying to me and you were covering up what is inside that little hell of yours.
01:03:30 --> 01:03:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's Ultron.
01:03:32 --> 01:03:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what if he gets it?
01:03:33 --> 01:03:35 [SPEAKER_00]: It's like storing a nuclear weapon in your shed.
01:03:36 --> 01:03:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they probably won't it'll be fine.
01:03:38 --> 01:03:39 [SPEAKER_00]: That'll be grand.
01:03:39 --> 01:03:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about it.
01:03:40 --> 01:03:40 [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine.
01:03:41 --> 01:03:42 [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very Irish approach.
01:03:42 --> 01:03:43 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to lie.
01:03:43 --> 01:03:51 [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, wait, you're storing all those Cakes of dynamite, beside all those K bottles of petroleum.
01:03:52 --> 01:03:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
01:03:52 --> 01:03:53 [SPEAKER_01]: We can't do it.
01:03:53 --> 01:03:54 [SPEAKER_01]: It's like not the problem.
01:03:54 --> 01:03:56 [SPEAKER_01]: They're on the other sides.
01:03:56 --> 01:03:57 [SPEAKER_01]: They're opposite each other.
01:03:58 --> 01:03:59 [SPEAKER_01]: There's a gap in the middle.
01:03:59 --> 01:04:00 [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be fine.
01:04:00 --> 01:04:01 [SPEAKER_00]: It'll be grand.
01:04:01 --> 01:04:02 [SPEAKER_00]: What happens if there's fire?
01:04:02 --> 01:04:03 [SPEAKER_00]: That's that boy.
01:04:03 --> 01:04:04 [SPEAKER_00]: That's hardly ever happens.
01:04:04 --> 01:04:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:04:06 --> 01:04:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:04:06 --> 01:04:13 [SPEAKER_00]: That's a that is very much visions of conversation with Tommy and yes, it's gone pretty badly.
01:04:13 --> 01:04:18 [SPEAKER_00]: So here we have the ultimate bad guy taking over the body of vision to end episode four.
01:04:19 --> 01:04:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
01:04:20 --> 01:04:22 [SPEAKER_01]: and walking away.
01:04:25 --> 01:04:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely fantastic.
01:04:27 --> 01:04:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Before we give our viewpoints, I can't find a wrap up.
01:04:31 --> 01:04:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you have any notes?
01:04:32 --> 01:04:35 [SPEAKER_00]: Couple of notes that I want to call out.
01:04:36 --> 01:04:43 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a conversation between Paladin and his handler, where he's going through some of his previous clients, and all MCU connected, which is what was really interesting.
01:04:43 --> 01:04:48 [SPEAKER_00]: He says the first one I had a punishing disagreement, which is the Punisher.
01:04:49 --> 01:05:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's that's a pretty obvious one and then the handler calls out you remember that time you got a steel fiber Billy club to the Noggin and Hell's Kitchen which is Daredevil of course and though when I really liked because we haven't had a reference to the character at all uh since the uh since the special and Halloween a couple of years ago uh he references Jack Russell from where Wolf by Knife's guy halfway between Man and Wolf perfectly reasonably during the day
01:05:17 --> 01:05:20 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah, I'm guessing, um, that's Jack Russell.
01:05:20 --> 01:05:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
01:05:21 --> 01:05:24 [SPEAKER_01]: So, the Paul didn't always get his mark.
01:05:25 --> 01:05:26 [SPEAKER_01]: The contract is never finished.
01:05:26 --> 01:05:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
01:05:27 --> 01:05:31 [SPEAKER_01]: So, is this to say that,
01:05:33 --> 01:05:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Jack Russell, he had a run-in with the Jack Russell on a different project, product, like, I was like, is Jack Russell no more?
01:05:43 --> 01:05:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Where was my night?
01:05:44 --> 01:05:44 [SPEAKER_01]: No more?
01:05:44 --> 01:05:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Where's he?
01:05:45 --> 01:05:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Is he the one that he was going after mounting and Jack Russell's in the way?
01:05:51 --> 01:05:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
01:05:52 --> 01:05:57 [SPEAKER_00]: I liked that they didn't make it clear that those were specific targets.
01:05:57 --> 01:06:04 [SPEAKER_00]: It was more he's come across all of those characters in the MCU because he lives there and so do all of these characters.
01:06:05 --> 01:06:06 [SPEAKER_00]: That was the intent.
01:06:07 --> 01:06:16 [SPEAKER_00]: So no definitive answer as to where Jack Russell is or whether he took a match, more just that he encanked the character.
01:06:16 --> 01:06:17 [SPEAKER_00]: And the fact that he said
01:06:19 --> 01:06:24 [SPEAKER_00]: makes you think that they talk to them.
01:06:24 --> 01:06:32 [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of the feeling I have, maybe he went after the where we'll have at night and then realize that he changed back into a human and went, actually, we can talk about this.
01:06:32 --> 01:06:34 [SPEAKER_00]: So don't have to kill yourself.
01:06:34 --> 01:06:36 [SPEAKER_00]: Keep yourself at a distance for the humans.
01:06:36 --> 01:06:42 [SPEAKER_00]: Kind of the way, but also one of the big reveals about Paladin and the episode is that he's not a real paladin.
01:06:45 --> 01:06:54 [SPEAKER_00]: He was given the title by the person that helped him and saved him and saved his life, but he's not an actual generation paladin.
01:06:54 --> 01:07:05 [SPEAKER_00]: We'd had the idea that this was a title that passed down through every generation, but he's just taken on the mantle rather than actually being trained into, rather than becoming the true paladin.
01:07:05 --> 01:07:08 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that was a little interesting twist.
01:07:09 --> 01:07:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the fact that it's usually comes farther and farther and farther and it's in the blood.
01:07:15 --> 01:07:18 [SPEAKER_01]: His father was killed, his father was one of the bad guys.
01:07:18 --> 01:07:19 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:07:19 --> 01:07:23 [SPEAKER_01]: That was taken by the Paladin and Paladin, trained him up instead.
01:07:24 --> 01:07:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, interesting because it does leave the Todd Sashrik is just such a great
01:07:31 --> 01:07:31 [SPEAKER_01]: actor.
01:07:32 --> 01:07:32 [SPEAKER_01]: I love him.
01:07:32 --> 01:07:33 [SPEAKER_01]: I know he's a character.
01:07:33 --> 01:07:42 [SPEAKER_01]: I know he's really well known for all his kind of bit part of bit parts, but he's like these character, not the main character.
01:07:43 --> 01:07:50 [SPEAKER_01]: These are now he is now getting into his main character energy now, where he's becoming main supporting character type of thing.
01:07:51 --> 01:08:01 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's say he's appearing and shows that we're watching, I think we've gathered a lot of feedback in last week of fans of 12 monkeys where he became a regular player after the second season, I think of us.
01:08:01 --> 01:08:19 [SPEAKER_00]: What I've never gone past the first season of first couple of episodes of 12 monkeys, it really enjoyed the first couple of episodes, but just it's another one of those shows that has 70 episodes to catch up on and it wasn't available and what I was being released at times and I've got to watch five full seasons of the show to catch up on what I know is going to be a great series.
01:08:19 --> 01:08:20 [SPEAKER_00]: I got to build the film.
01:08:21 --> 01:08:22 [SPEAKER_00]: Have a watch, Chrissy.
01:08:22 --> 01:08:23 [SPEAKER_00]: You'll probably love it.
01:08:23 --> 01:08:24 [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's the right to be realized.
01:08:24 --> 01:08:25 [SPEAKER_00]: Well, sir.
01:08:25 --> 01:08:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Great enough.
01:08:26 --> 01:08:27 [SPEAKER_01]: It's in a banana.
01:08:29 --> 01:08:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I've mentioned already the fact that Toby discovering his phasing pairs because he's trying so hard to get some iron brew is hilarious to me.
01:08:35 --> 01:08:36 [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's really good.
01:08:37 --> 01:08:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Domey and you both speaking in this episode, a bit sooner than we expected.
01:08:41 --> 01:08:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Jarvis is a funeral and Domey quoting Keats and his poetry, which is really good.
01:08:51 --> 01:08:54 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's great.
01:08:54 --> 01:08:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I looked at that with the best one, and I was like, I think I'm going to do it again.
01:08:58 --> 01:08:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:08:59 --> 01:09:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:09:01 --> 01:09:02 [SPEAKER_00]: That's really good.
01:09:03 --> 01:09:04 [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, fun.
01:09:04 --> 01:09:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Got it.
01:09:05 --> 01:09:06 [SPEAKER_00]: You got to use them.
01:09:06 --> 01:09:11 [SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, looking forward to seeing more and more now that they can speak in their starting to develop their personalities.
01:09:11 --> 01:09:13 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see a bit more of them hopefully as the season is on.
01:09:13 --> 01:09:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe not.
01:09:14 --> 01:09:18 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there will all be shut eyes of visions mind by Ultron.
01:09:19 --> 01:09:43 [SPEAKER_00]: The T-shirts that Tubby tries to get vision to wear because he thinks it's hilarious that so a vision would wear shirts and get a grip, don't believe the blip, the good gag, just in case some people might not remember the blip as what the snap is known as in the MCU, so literally he's trying to get the person that was killed by Thanos to wear a shirts by a blip skeptic, which I think is a
01:09:44 --> 01:09:53 [SPEAKER_01]: Can I just ask if anyone from Disney is listening because you know you are you listening all the time I want that t-shirt
01:09:54 --> 01:09:55 [SPEAKER_00]: I can tell you right now, Chris.
01:09:55 --> 01:10:00 [SPEAKER_00]: It's available on her universe, the website that does all of the nerdy shirts for all the Marvel shows.
01:10:01 --> 01:10:04 [SPEAKER_00]: You can go on there and get your get a grip.
01:10:04 --> 01:10:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe the blip t-shirts.
01:10:05 --> 01:10:07 [SPEAKER_00]: It was made available last week.
01:10:07 --> 01:10:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks.
01:10:08 --> 01:10:10 [SPEAKER_00]: Before the episode aired, which was quite interesting.
01:10:11 --> 01:10:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Alright, there you go.
01:10:12 --> 01:10:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
01:10:12 --> 01:10:17 [SPEAKER_01]: That's some new threads flying my way.
01:10:17 --> 01:10:27 [SPEAKER_00]: there you go and whiskey watch because we always mention this again it's Stafford 12 year old which seems to be the drink of choice for Paladin despite him actually saying that his drink of choice is a pinnacle ladder
01:10:29 --> 01:10:32 [SPEAKER_01]: And I've been glad as So there you go.
01:10:32 --> 01:10:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So I think the the production team are putting in whiskey watch for us even though Paladin enjoys a peanut clatter There you can no I would say you can make a peanut clatter with With whiskey and I'm like no, it just you would be on your ear if you better be the clatter We'll whiskey as well Whisky chaser with your peanut clatter, maybe there So Chris, do you defend vision quest episodes three and four?
01:10:58 --> 01:10:58 [SPEAKER_01]: I do.
01:10:59 --> 01:10:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I do.
01:10:59 --> 01:11:02 [SPEAKER_01]: The show gets better and better.
01:11:03 --> 01:11:06 [SPEAKER_01]: My enthusiasm may not have fully come across right now.
01:11:07 --> 01:11:07 [SPEAKER_01]: I am tired.
01:11:08 --> 01:11:09 [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm really enjoying this.
01:11:09 --> 01:11:14 [SPEAKER_01]: And it's one of those I'm looking forward to Wednesdays again.
01:11:14 --> 01:11:15 [SPEAKER_01]: We've had this with Daredevil.
01:11:16 --> 01:11:18 [SPEAKER_01]: We've like, those Wednesday drops.
01:11:19 --> 01:11:21 [SPEAKER_01]: where I'm actually even enjoying the fun.
01:11:21 --> 01:11:27 [SPEAKER_01]: Usually I would say I'd be up the opinion no, do one to week, they'll say for it.
01:11:28 --> 01:11:36 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm very much into the binging of this like these two I'm supposed to each time because I'm like, hmm, give me like I'm enjoying this world again.
01:11:36 --> 01:11:37 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm enjoying.
01:11:37 --> 01:11:38 [SPEAKER_01]: It is very marvel.
01:11:39 --> 01:11:46 [SPEAKER_01]: But it's not at the same time, it is very what we got with Agatha all along and one division.
01:11:47 --> 01:12:03 [SPEAKER_01]: It is its own beast while also being or paying homage to so many other shows and so many of the bits and it's so well written and it's so well choreographed and it's so well like I'll give it to all its flowers.
01:12:05 --> 01:12:28 [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm enjoying it and I'm enjoying the characters and where we go and yeah, so I fully defend this and I really think I need to see them land the plane, but this trilogy Theoretically could be up there at some of the best images If they land the plane on this one because the ending is as important as the beginning in the middle
01:12:29 --> 01:12:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, so I am totally enjoying Derek one of myself.
01:12:32 --> 01:12:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Do you defend these two episodes of vision wasd?
01:12:38 --> 01:12:52 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, yeah, yeah, completely defend both of these episodes and the first episode episode three um had a lot of a lot of humorous that I wasn't expecting and just just reading back in some of the lines without where hilarious when uh when we have vision in the car with the
01:12:52 --> 01:12:55 [SPEAKER_00]: with Tommy, and he goes, can you smell that?
01:12:55 --> 01:13:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Talking about something and just, you just see Tommy going, I'm really sorry, I'm really nervous.
01:13:00 --> 01:13:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I was a good gag.
01:13:03 --> 01:13:08 [SPEAKER_00]: The joke about nobody likes a surprise, we're entry, and I'll try to answer your actions.
01:13:08 --> 01:13:17 [SPEAKER_00]: That is great, I love the father of the year mode that that Ultron's carrying, I think that's just really fantastic in that opening episode to do.
01:13:18 --> 01:13:41 [SPEAKER_00]: all of the humor and then by the second episode you got a serial killer going around murdering people revealing Jakosta a major Marvel comic books character and to our origin story all in that episode it's a much more serious episode but still with that same sense of humor and the investigation that was going on I thought that was really really good so
01:13:44 --> 01:13:51 [SPEAKER_00]: very different visions, as we said, between each episode, but all forming a really interesting hole.
01:13:51 --> 01:13:55 [SPEAKER_00]: So, it's a well done to all the writers and directors on the show and the cast.
01:13:55 --> 01:13:56 [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're all killing it.
01:13:56 --> 01:13:58 [SPEAKER_00]: So, can't wait for the other half of the season.
01:13:58 --> 01:14:00 [SPEAKER_00]: And the next trip starts next week.
01:14:00 --> 01:14:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, yeah.
01:14:02 --> 01:14:03 [SPEAKER_01]: This is the halfway point.
01:14:04 --> 01:14:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even cop that in my head.
01:14:06 --> 01:14:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Bigger.
01:14:07 --> 01:14:07 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, new.
01:14:08 --> 01:14:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, but oh no.
01:14:10 --> 01:14:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Um, well thank you guys.
01:14:11 --> 01:14:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Still got over four hours left to go, Chris, don't you worry.
01:14:15 --> 01:14:17 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, lots of good content.
01:14:17 --> 01:14:24 [SPEAKER_01]: But before we get into our feedback, which is even better content because it comes from you, let's head to the Pope because I could use the drink.
01:14:25 --> 01:14:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, yes, welcome back fellow defenders and fellow quizers to the vision quest a little selfie pub quiz, got two more questions for you for this week, and on our question on episode three is what are Paladin's drones called as three drones?
01:14:40 --> 01:14:41 [SPEAKER_00]: What are their names?
01:14:42 --> 01:14:44 [SPEAKER_01]: Snack, crackle and pop.
01:14:46 --> 01:14:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Nope, that was in Reacher, that's what Reacher called some dudes.
01:14:51 --> 01:14:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not that.
01:14:53 --> 01:14:56 [SPEAKER_00]: It is what our Paladins three drones called.
01:14:57 --> 01:15:06 [SPEAKER_00]: And our question on episode four, what our Ultraman vision asked is identify in the squares by security about 7, 2, 1, 8, 1 to prove they are not robots.
01:15:07 --> 01:15:08 [SPEAKER_00]: And what was the
01:15:16 --> 01:15:16 [SPEAKER_00]: One more time.
01:15:16 --> 01:15:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Question for that one was, what are Ultron and Vision asked to identify in the squares by the security bots 7281 to prove they are not robots?
01:15:25 --> 01:15:29 [SPEAKER_00]: And second part of that was the correct number as well.
01:15:29 --> 01:15:35 [SPEAKER_00]: A bit of banter between Ultron and Vision trying to work out with the number is and you'll get the answer if you watch the scene again.
01:15:36 --> 01:15:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, those are two more questions of the questions for vision quest when you get all the correct answers at the end of the season email listen to feedback at TV podcast industries.com What your answers and you can be able to chance of getting your hands on some vision quest goodies.
01:15:50 --> 01:15:54 [SPEAKER_00]: The questions are up on our website as well over at TV podcast industries.com
01:15:55 --> 01:15:58 [SPEAKER_00]: and that email address is the same place you sent your feedback into.
01:15:58 --> 01:16:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Just like coffee and vodka who sent in his thoughts on episode three and episode four, first up on episode three says greetings fellow damaged defenders.
01:16:06 --> 01:16:17 [SPEAKER_00]: I've got questions lots of them beginning with how soft for fixes solve a punctured hardware problem, but just taking the episode for a ride and let the questions answer themselves makes for a more fun journey.
01:16:17 --> 01:16:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Though I do have to wonder, is that your cost?
01:16:19 --> 01:16:23 [SPEAKER_00]: If so, I'm loving Mattalis more and more for honoring the source material.
01:16:24 --> 01:16:39 [SPEAKER_00]: On to VisionQuest 104-5-6-5-5-synced, synths, sperm turned signals and glitchy withdrawals at a five piece and take care of coffee and vodka, who I think I glitched actually on some of your races.
01:16:40 --> 01:16:46 [SPEAKER_00]: It's very difficult to say, since, since, since, since, I think since, that's a very difficult to say.
01:16:47 --> 01:16:51 [SPEAKER_00]: But great points there, coffee vodka and yes, you were right, it was to cast a.
01:16:52 --> 01:16:52 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
01:16:53 --> 01:17:04 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm on his second email on episode four because I'm going to take the two my two parts on at this coffee vodka had this to say whoop, whoop, whoop, now that's what I call a twist.
01:17:04 --> 01:17:08 [SPEAKER_01]: Four in and receive by us be damned.
01:17:08 --> 01:17:11 [SPEAKER_01]: This is taking the prize for best of trilogy.
01:17:13 --> 01:17:18 [SPEAKER_01]: If, for no other reason, it's the only one to feel like an on-screen comic book.
01:17:18 --> 01:17:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Jakast is designed, for example, being whipped directly from the pages.
01:17:23 --> 01:17:29 [SPEAKER_01]: The plotting, scripting to Ultron's rise to duplicity, gain power, was well-ladered and believable.
01:17:30 --> 01:17:31 [SPEAKER_01]: And Tommy got his run on.
01:17:32 --> 01:17:36 [SPEAKER_01]: As for Ultron's solution, nothing could be more Ultron.
01:17:36 --> 01:17:41 [SPEAKER_01]: Not saying I wouldn't sell myself for a couple of screeners, but not saying I wouldn't.
01:17:42 --> 01:17:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Five plucked pockets, plucky pi's, and perloined personages out of five, peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
01:17:52 --> 01:18:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Coffee and vodka, that is some serious, five plucked pockets, plucky pi's, and perloined personages or personages.
01:18:02 --> 01:18:03 [SPEAKER_01]: out of five.
01:18:03 --> 01:18:04 [SPEAKER_01]: No, well, look, thank you so much.
01:18:04 --> 01:18:05 [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm with you.
01:18:05 --> 01:18:14 [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry to agree that this is like, I don't have a best of the trilogy, but it is one of the best trilogy's.
01:18:15 --> 01:18:17 [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's really starting to get there.
01:18:20 --> 01:18:34 [SPEAKER_01]: I love how it is, you're right, it is written straight from the comic books in that the set design, like the, they designed Ultron to be so comic book accurate.
01:18:34 --> 01:18:44 [SPEAKER_01]: So the fact that to cost it is the same and it does have the homage to the the honoring of who she was in the comic
01:18:49 --> 01:18:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, look.
01:18:51 --> 01:18:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Old John was a big scary robot, so we're going to have another big scary robot, so we're going to make it look like the other OG, base scary robot.
01:18:58 --> 01:18:58 [SPEAKER_01]: Great.
01:18:59 --> 01:19:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
01:19:00 --> 01:19:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:19:00 --> 01:19:14 [SPEAKER_00]: That's really smart to take more cues from the comic book, you know, it's pretty rare actually in the MCU because they're trying to condense for the most parts, 70 or 80 years of history and a character than into a brand new character for all audiences to enjoy.
01:19:19 --> 01:19:20 [SPEAKER_00]: and bring her into the universe.
01:19:20 --> 01:19:20 [SPEAKER_00]: It's great.
01:19:21 --> 01:19:25 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, looking forward to seeing how she develops over the rest of the show.
01:19:25 --> 01:19:30 [SPEAKER_00]: We don't have any more screeners, so we haven't been able to watch any further ahead now, so don't worry.
01:19:31 --> 01:19:33 [SPEAKER_00]: If you had screeners that'd be gone by now, coffee vodka.
01:19:34 --> 01:19:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's move on over to our Discord server.
01:19:38 --> 01:20:01 [SPEAKER_00]: First up, Dr. Bob says, wash two visions again and one evil twin leaving corpses with angel wings and the Paladin is an adoptee mirroring the non biological inheritance in the previous two series and we get a beautiful rendition of Keats from Domey, great plot points and are we going to do some more exploring of different ways to be family in this season to complete the nuclear chosen acquired triplets.
01:20:01 --> 01:20:05 [SPEAKER_00]: along with the fundamentals of individual identity, of course, quite exciting.
01:20:07 --> 01:20:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Love a doctor, Bob, you're absolutely right.
01:20:08 --> 01:20:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the spiritual successor here, or the spiritual third part of the trilogy.
01:20:15 --> 01:20:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're doing another, another talk about family and, yeah, nuclear chosen or acquired as a great way to think about each of the three parts of the trilogy from
01:20:30 --> 01:20:32 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no great connections, Dr. Bob.
01:20:32 --> 01:20:33 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
01:20:33 --> 01:20:40 [SPEAKER_01]: Also on Discord, Paul Lee had this to say, having a difficult time keeping these double episodes dropped separate.
01:20:40 --> 01:20:42 [SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to get my thoughts on both.
01:20:42 --> 01:20:51 [SPEAKER_01]: One, love all the word playing, continuing visual puns around vision being computing entity, I'm particularly loving the ex-sism of vision.
01:20:52 --> 01:20:52 [SPEAKER_01]: 2.
01:20:53 --> 01:21:07 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand the larger role for Paladin in the show except maybe how this iteration has troubled relationship with his biological father but ended up seemingly loving father figure in the form of his predecessor Paladin.
01:21:07 --> 01:21:07 [SPEAKER_01]: 3.
01:21:08 --> 01:21:12 [SPEAKER_01]: Which leads to the seemingly unifying theme of father's and sons for the series.
01:21:13 --> 01:21:15 [SPEAKER_01]: There's also the idea of family being what makes humans human.
01:21:17 --> 01:21:29 [SPEAKER_01]: In episode 4, we get a stripped-dance summary of Jim Hammett, the first AI in the MCU, the original human torch in Marvel Comics, and an easter egg in the first Captain America movie.
01:21:30 --> 01:21:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Based on some outsider info, I'm speculating that, like Jarvis, Friday and Needeth, Vision was based on another real-life person that Tony Stark knew about.
01:21:40 --> 01:21:47 [SPEAKER_01]: My theory is that Ultron's human avatar is based on Dr. Finius Hammond, Jim's creator.
01:21:48 --> 01:21:53 [SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if we'll get a flashback, his starckel scene with a clean, shaving, james spader.
01:21:57 --> 01:22:01 [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks Paul, oh, clean, shave in James Spade.
01:22:01 --> 01:22:05 [SPEAKER_01]: I have not seen one of those in a very long time.
01:22:07 --> 01:22:10 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see James Spade.
01:22:10 --> 01:22:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so sick of that beard.
01:22:12 --> 01:22:14 [SPEAKER_00]: It feels like it's just rubbing on things all the time.
01:22:14 --> 01:22:21 [SPEAKER_00]: I know Ultron doesn't eat thankfully because I would be nervous every time I saw me breakfast if we had that actual beard.
01:22:21 --> 01:22:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Think of the soup.
01:22:22 --> 01:22:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Just imagine eating soup.
01:22:25 --> 01:22:26 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's my nightmare.
01:22:26 --> 01:22:41 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a big beard fan as well as I've talked a bit before the podcast, but have a some with that beard Walking and just gathering birds and food would just be a nightmare So I hope we do get a flash to today's beta with it the beard
01:22:42 --> 01:22:47 [SPEAKER_01]: But luckily then you do get if there's food in the beard the birds have something to eat.
01:22:47 --> 01:22:48 [SPEAKER_01]: So it's fine.
01:22:48 --> 01:22:49 [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
01:22:49 --> 01:22:49 [SPEAKER_01]: Ecosystem.
01:22:50 --> 01:22:50 [SPEAKER_01]: Talba.
01:22:50 --> 01:22:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Ecosystem.
01:22:51 --> 01:22:51 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
01:22:51 --> 01:22:52 [SPEAKER_00]: So lovely.
01:22:53 --> 01:22:56 [SPEAKER_00]: A great thought it's Paul for the series.
01:22:57 --> 01:23:03 [SPEAKER_00]: I just do want to caution everybody that all eight episodes were made available as screeners.
01:23:03 --> 01:23:06 [SPEAKER_00]: So some of the things that are that you're seeing at there as
01:23:08 --> 01:23:27 [SPEAKER_00]: theories and sites quote unquote bunny ears yeah theories it's it is a warning that we give pretty often uh on these shows that if uh and especially in this case that didn't hold back the final episode on the screeners all they episodes are available so if you had time to sit down and watch eight hours
01:23:28 --> 01:23:55 [SPEAKER_00]: they've seen it and if they're saying oh we've got to see a theory about what's going to happen in the final episode sometimes that theory is actually just then spoiling the end of the season so just be really careful like there so I will try my best to catch any of those and make sure that we don't we don't talk about them on the podcast here and so I did have to edit a little bit of your note there Paul I hope you don't mind just based on that little piece of information that actually could have been a spoiler for the end of the season
01:23:56 --> 01:23:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, thank you Paul and stay safe at their folks.
01:24:00 --> 01:24:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Remember, all theories said here by myself.
01:24:04 --> 01:24:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Are two stupid to be real?
01:24:08 --> 01:24:08 [SPEAKER_01]: God, that's terrible.
01:24:08 --> 01:24:12 [SPEAKER_00]: I was reading, I was reading Russell T. Davis's biography.
01:24:12 --> 01:24:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Russell T. Davis, the person who brought back Doctor Who, and he said one of the reasons why he never wants to do Doctor Who again is because everything that he did, every twist, every piece of writing that he did was spoiled before the shows were released no matter what they did.
01:24:31 --> 01:24:39 [SPEAKER_00]: every single piece it was spoiled and by the time it was shown on screen, the internet had already made up its mind to base all of the twists before they even seen them.
01:24:39 --> 01:24:43 [SPEAKER_00]: So it didn't matter the context of what was happening, every single thing that was in every episode.
01:24:43 --> 01:24:50 [SPEAKER_00]: So we just said it was so frustrating to make a show like that so that you never want to work in that field again.
01:24:50 --> 01:24:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that awful?
01:24:51 --> 01:25:02 [SPEAKER_00]: the boss were the best creatives in nerd culture because people love to spoil the end of things rather than just enjoying the process of watching the entertainment that they're enjoying, you know?
01:25:02 --> 01:25:05 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, without him, we wouldn't have got the word, doctor.
01:25:05 --> 01:25:06 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:06 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
01:25:06 --> 01:25:08 [SPEAKER_01]: And such great lore.
01:25:09 --> 01:25:14 [SPEAKER_00]: So many wonderful things, we wouldn't have David Tennant as amazingly famous as he is.
01:25:14 --> 01:25:18 [SPEAKER_00]: He was he's come from the school of Russell D. Davis effectively.
01:25:21 --> 01:25:22 [SPEAKER_01]: Nope, purple, man.
01:25:22 --> 01:25:23 [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
01:25:23 --> 01:25:24 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, but a great biography.
01:25:24 --> 01:25:24 [SPEAKER_00]: Go read there.
01:25:24 --> 01:25:25 [SPEAKER_00]: I'll see you there.
01:25:25 --> 01:25:25 [SPEAKER_00]: This is biography.
01:25:26 --> 01:25:26 [SPEAKER_00]: It's really interesting.
01:25:26 --> 01:25:27 [SPEAKER_00]: It's more about TV.
01:25:27 --> 01:25:31 [SPEAKER_00]: I love that he opens it up saying and I'm not going to talk about my family or friends or anything like that.
01:25:31 --> 01:25:32 [SPEAKER_00]: This is just going to be it.
01:25:32 --> 01:25:33 [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my time in TV.
01:25:33 --> 01:25:35 [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like TV read that book.
01:25:35 --> 01:25:35 [SPEAKER_00]: It's a great book.
01:25:36 --> 01:25:36 [SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
01:25:37 --> 01:25:39 [SPEAKER_00]: That's back on to our feedback though.
01:25:39 --> 01:25:41 [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get on to Facebook.
01:25:41 --> 01:25:43 [SPEAKER_00]: First up, mathematician over in Facebook.
01:25:43 --> 01:25:45 [SPEAKER_00]: I gave his feedback on each of the two episodes.
01:25:45 --> 01:25:52 [SPEAKER_00]: First up, and episode three, he says, we find out the Paladin has taken a beating from Daredevil the past and then quote, wait for us, wait for us.
01:25:53 --> 01:25:53 [SPEAKER_00]: How are you, my dad?
01:25:54 --> 01:25:55 [SPEAKER_00]: Boom, Shaka Lack.
01:25:55 --> 01:25:57 [SPEAKER_00]: James Spader is just fabulous.
01:25:57 --> 01:26:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I've mentioned them so you do in parallel scenes to the past and poor Tommy getting flashbacks of the draining incident here with the palette and getting some of his own childhood trauma flashbacks too.
01:26:05 --> 01:26:11 [SPEAKER_00]: I'm wondering here if Allison Hogan is happy's mom and who Edith Marks is, any ideas?
01:26:11 --> 01:26:14 [SPEAKER_00]: Just cut again to say thank you find out in the next episode.
01:26:14 --> 01:26:19 [SPEAKER_00]: Allison Hogan was the name of Friday, and we find out who she is in the next episode.
01:26:19 --> 01:26:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Massachusetts continues.
01:26:21 --> 01:26:23 [SPEAKER_00]: Wish I could do what Tommy did with that vending machine.
01:26:23 --> 01:26:25 [SPEAKER_00]: He's it when my Mars bar gets stuck up the totally thing.
01:26:26 --> 01:26:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Confirmed for me, the spirit contained the speed power for Tommy as he started boiling the water as soon as he possessed.
01:26:32 --> 01:26:35 [SPEAKER_00]: The Drain Boy's body so no X gene thankfully.
01:26:35 --> 01:26:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Tony's words to Bruce and Infinity War that vision was evolving manifested here as vision started to glitch and became angry, something he didn't appear capable of in as early days, then some more evidence of vision evolving as life flashes before his eyes before he dies only for Tommy to replicate me all
01:26:52 --> 01:26:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Lightning to power up vision by creating his own kinetic energy to charge up his dad.
01:26:56 --> 01:26:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Paladin bent to buy the mystery voice.
01:26:59 --> 01:27:05 [SPEAKER_00]: I do think it's Sharon, by the way, but Arnhem Zilla is my left field shape, and Dummy has a voice.
01:27:05 --> 01:27:16 [SPEAKER_00]: Memories of watching Barry McGregor's Child and his dad singing Oh Daddy Boy in the ring before the fight, with use rendition was surprisingly nostalgic here before Butcher Bird then gets into vision's head.
01:27:16 --> 01:27:17 [SPEAKER_00]: Who's the other synth?
01:27:18 --> 01:27:24 [SPEAKER_00]: A little slower than episode two, which is fine, and I think it's nice setting up the palette and as an ally of visions, we'll see.
01:27:24 --> 01:27:35 [SPEAKER_00]: I love your reference there, Math Petition, to Barry McGregor and O'Donnie Boy in the ring during a bout of match, especially because we see Vision talk to Tommy about boxing as well in this episode.
01:27:35 --> 01:27:38 [SPEAKER_00]: So I wonder if somebody else says that's kind of memory and connection there.
01:27:39 --> 01:27:40 [SPEAKER_00]: And is it Sharon Carter or
01:27:44 --> 01:27:48 [SPEAKER_01]: I, we'd already brought up the fact of, uh, the power broker.
01:27:49 --> 01:27:50 [SPEAKER_01]: So definitely an interesting one.
01:27:51 --> 01:27:56 [SPEAKER_01]: Zola was when I did not think of, um, which would be really interesting.
01:27:56 --> 01:27:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I could, I say, either thing.
01:27:57 --> 01:27:59 [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, way, where is all that?
01:27:59 --> 01:28:00 [SPEAKER_01]: Where is that character?
01:28:00 --> 01:28:02 [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I cannot for life.
01:28:02 --> 01:28:04 [SPEAKER_01]: We remember, but it does make sense.
01:28:04 --> 01:28:08 [SPEAKER_00]: Not by the Wakandans at the end of Falconum Intersoldiers up.
01:28:08 --> 01:28:11 [SPEAKER_00]: Did they catch them at the end or did you walk off into the sunset at the end of that?
01:28:11 --> 01:28:13 [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember Yeah, after check that out.
01:28:13 --> 01:28:15 [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe maybe we'll see you next week.
01:28:16 --> 01:28:30 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, on to episode four And mathematician says butcher bird hacking into visions head giving Eda the opportunity for some double and and Tom's right in Uganda She's hilarious She also ate a greeting with a trump, but they had to plan to find the synth killer loved how they had to solve the
01:28:31 --> 01:28:35 [SPEAKER_00]: capture in the episode, those things are nearly as irritating as the vending machine the traps your Mars bar.
01:28:35 --> 01:28:40 [SPEAKER_00]: Like Ultron, I always get anxious of a tiny part of the image leaks slightly into another square.
01:28:40 --> 01:28:43 [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have to select that square or not?
01:28:43 --> 01:28:51 [SPEAKER_00]: Vision channels that enter C3PO letting us know how many languages you can speak, and the useful leaks that it uses fake arms to get them passes for the gala.
01:28:51 --> 01:28:56 [SPEAKER_00]: Love high-starx old records were actually vinyl records, and I got my answers about who
01:28:58 --> 01:29:09 [SPEAKER_00]: We find it either laughs at the face of death as her personality is based around a ston't no one used to test drive harrod's inventions, some heartwarming bonding between Ultraman either was also great to see.
01:29:09 --> 01:29:13 [SPEAKER_00]: Still don't trust Ultram though, Tommy is smart and figures out that vintage
01:29:13 --> 01:29:31 [SPEAKER_00]: Vision was lying and Ultron is also an AI inside his head before using his speed to save Katrina from Mrs. Ultron Ultron senses moment and takes control will he hand the reins back over division brilliant episode five crab kind of pays out of five Very good.
01:29:31 --> 01:29:38 [SPEAKER_00]: Um will Ultron hand back over the reins to vision It's a 1550 chance.
01:29:38 --> 01:29:42 [SPEAKER_00]: I think he accomplished what he took over the body for
01:29:43 --> 01:29:45 [SPEAKER_00]: by having Caterina killed.
01:29:45 --> 01:29:48 [SPEAKER_00]: And there he has the body, which is what he wanted.
01:29:48 --> 01:29:57 [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I don't think he's just going to be handing it back every vision, uh, visual, hopefully, fight inside to get the body back, uh, because he is the hero of this story, right?
01:29:58 --> 01:30:02 [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think, oh, Sean will be handing anything over to anybody, uh, that's not fair in the nature.
01:30:03 --> 01:30:04 [SPEAKER_00]: Brillard stuff.
01:30:04 --> 01:30:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for that mathematician.
01:30:05 --> 01:30:07 [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, thanks, mathematician.
01:30:07 --> 01:30:11 [SPEAKER_01]: Also on Facebook, we have some feedback from Heather Wallace who had this to say,
01:30:12 --> 01:30:18 [SPEAKER_01]: I rolled my eyes when yet another old American sitcom appeared on British TV in episode 3.
01:30:19 --> 01:30:27 [SPEAKER_01]: But the explanation was perfect, the scene was a vision simulation and he was rejecting one of his love of classics that comes on Tommy.
01:30:27 --> 01:30:41 [SPEAKER_01]: because as anyone who has ever turned on a TV in the UK knows you will always get mitzomer mergers, doesn't matter what day the week, the time of the day, or even the TV station, it's always mitzomer mergers.
01:30:42 --> 01:30:45 [SPEAKER_01]: Quick note from Chris for anyone's wondering mitzomer mergers
01:30:51 --> 01:30:57 [SPEAKER_01]: I think of it as a British... That's why I'm putting it would be... Where does she wrote?
01:30:58 --> 01:30:59 [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, but it was weird to say it.
01:31:01 --> 01:31:03 [SPEAKER_01]: Where does she wrote this classic one never be?
01:31:04 --> 01:31:05 [SPEAKER_00]: Back to what Heather had to say.
01:31:06 --> 01:31:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Vision Quest is containing the excellent MCU ability to take a villain or minor character from one of their movies and give him nuance, make them sympathetic.
01:31:15 --> 01:31:20 [SPEAKER_01]: Falking the win to soldier, made Seymour a stand out, and very entertaining.
01:31:20 --> 01:31:26 [SPEAKER_01]: while Wonderman transformed Trevor from the comic relief to a deeply moving character.
01:31:26 --> 01:31:29 [SPEAKER_01]: The scene between Old John and Edith is in that vein.
01:31:29 --> 01:31:32 [SPEAKER_01]: He was so compassionate, understanding, and encouraging of her.
01:31:33 --> 01:31:37 [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was a con, or was he trying to get her to trust him.
01:31:37 --> 01:31:42 [SPEAKER_01]: His reflections on his own limitations were touched with sadness and loneliness.
01:31:42 --> 01:31:44 [SPEAKER_01]: It was such a superb scene.
01:31:44 --> 01:31:49 [SPEAKER_01]: There are moments that feel like vision quests connected to other TV, sci-fi universes,
01:31:49 --> 01:32:04 [SPEAKER_01]: Mayor McDonald's casting as Katarina Wells who would spances to try and humanism correct straight through to Bottle Star Galactica and the Markridge company that developed the eyes is the same name as the evil company in 12 monkeys.
01:32:05 --> 01:32:06 [SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, there you go.
01:32:07 --> 01:32:10 [SPEAKER_01]: The songs in this pair of episodes are on point.
01:32:11 --> 01:32:15 [SPEAKER_01]: Episode three is believe it or not from the greatest American hero.
01:32:15 --> 01:32:20 [SPEAKER_01]: I love that show in the 80s and episode four is bad by freedom fries with the lyrics.
01:32:21 --> 01:32:23 [SPEAKER_01]: Now you'll see a different side of me.
01:32:25 --> 01:32:29 [SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of the greatest American hero, such a good show.
01:32:29 --> 01:32:30 [SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
01:32:30 --> 01:32:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Great pull, and also it's apparently being rebooted as well now, and it's gonna be rebooted with a female character, and it's gonna be so good.
01:32:40 --> 01:32:43 [SPEAKER_01]: Things I've heard about it was such like, oh, I can't wait for that.
01:32:45 --> 01:32:46 [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, let's wait and see.
01:32:47 --> 01:32:48 [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much, Heather.
01:32:49 --> 01:32:50 [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely thanks Adam.
01:32:50 --> 01:32:57 [SPEAKER_00]: I know there was some kind of comic book that came out recently with the greatest American hero, but that theme tune I remember hearing it back in the 80s.
01:32:57 --> 01:33:04 [SPEAKER_00]: It was the only superhero show we had for a few years and I remember mom absolutely loving us and
01:33:05 --> 01:33:09 [SPEAKER_00]: Um, always calling us in, let's hear that opening theme as well.
01:33:09 --> 01:33:20 [SPEAKER_00]: So, uh, look to, um, yeah, that they, they really have done a good job in VisionQuest so far, just making, um, character sympathetic and interesting and different from what we saw in the past.
01:33:20 --> 01:33:21 [SPEAKER_00]: Um,
01:33:21 --> 01:33:42 [SPEAKER_00]: I do say, though, every time I watch a Jeville Troney enjoy Jane Spade's performance even more than I did back then, I think the movie itself at the time there was just a, well, it wasn't the best of the Marvel movies, but it is still up there as one of the, one of the top movies on his performance in there, in there is always good to watch, so seeing what they've done with them in this show as excellent.
01:33:44 --> 01:33:51 [SPEAKER_00]: If you want more Battle Star Galactic, a character's had a well as a go over and check out Carry on on prime video.
01:33:52 --> 01:33:57 [SPEAKER_00]: I think there are eight actors from Battle Star Galactic.
01:33:58 --> 01:34:02 [SPEAKER_00]: Mike Flanagan has said that he is basically just collecting them all.
01:34:03 --> 01:34:07 [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to get them all into his shows, so he's now got in the bed eight in there.
01:34:07 --> 01:34:11 [SPEAKER_00]: So if you're like a bit of horror and you don't mind to remake go check out Mike Flanagan's
01:34:14 --> 01:34:30 [SPEAKER_01]: and horrific and it's my fun if you love if you liked any of his previous Netflix stuff it's just fantastic if you like sci-fi it's fantastic if you like Stephen King books it's fantastic yeah just watch it it's fantastic
01:34:31 --> 01:34:38 [SPEAKER_00]: And don't worry, everybody including Mike Flalligan and Stephen King had the same reaction when Mike Flalligan was asked to make a carry, they all said, why?
01:34:39 --> 01:34:44 [SPEAKER_00]: There's a good movie out there, and he came up with a good reason why, so highly, highly recommend it.
01:34:44 --> 01:34:49 [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much to all of you for feedback this week, for this episode of Vision Quest, for these two episodes of Vision Quest.

01:35:26 --> 01:35:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Bye!
01:35:26 --> 01:35:26 [SPEAKER_01]: Bye!

01:36:44 --> 01:36:45 [SPEAKER_00]: You need to reboot Chris.
01:36:46 --> 01:36:46 [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
01:36:50 --> 01:36:54 [SPEAKER_00]: We'll back next week with episode five firewall and episode six dreadlock.

01:36:59 --> 01:37:00 [SPEAKER_00]: Deadlock.
01:37:00 --> 01:37:01 [SPEAKER_01]: You said dreadlock.
01:37:01 --> 01:37:02 [SPEAKER_00]: It is.
