Invincible 401 "Making The World A Better Place" Synopsis
Created by: Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Cory Walker
Episode Written by: Helen Leigh
Directed by: Sol Choi
Mark, Oliver, and Eve continue stopping threats while dealing with the physical and mental aftermath of Angstrom and Conquest. Cecil appoints Brit as leader of the Guardians of the Globe and merges the Teen Team back under his leadership, causing great irritation in the newly renamed Teen Team leader “Rex”.
Mark meets Dinosaurus, a powerful being he nearly kills despite learning the creature's human host lacks control in his transformed state.
Tensions rise during a difficult dinner with Eve and her parents as Mark learns Eve’s father blames him for the loss of his career during the destruction of Chicago. Her mother guides Eve to not set the bar too high for her relationship.
Meanwhile, the Sequids prepare another invasion, and Universa arrives on Earth, draining energy from a power plant to save her people.
Eve struggles as her powers become unstable during the fight, but Universa is eventually defeated. The Guardians confront the Sequid threat, and with Mark's help, they save all infected civilians using new technology, though Mark kills Rus Livingston, the final host, to end the danger.
Elsewhere, Conquest awakens in captivity but easily breaks free and leaves Earth.

[DEREK]: We are talking about an invincible season 4 episode one making the world a better place I am one of your host Derek and In a bit of a change up to lots of but I've realized we have a second co-host who is
01:19.833 --> 01:20.854
[JOHN]: Invincible.
01:20.994 --> 01:22.096
[DEREK]: Well, kind of invincible.
01:22.116 --> 01:23.197
[JOHN]: Yes, it's John.
01:23.297 --> 01:24.879
[JOHN]: Hello there fellow guardians.
01:25.279 --> 01:28.183
[JOHN]: Good to burst my invincible cherry.
01:28.203 --> 01:29.905
[JOHN]: Yeah on the podcast here.
01:29.945 --> 01:35.151
[JOHN]: Yes Chris couldn't join for our first outing due to work commitments.
01:35.171 --> 01:37.854
[JOHN]: So and yes, I'm here to take his place.
01:38.314 --> 01:45.663
[JOHN]: I do follow along enthusiastically watching the show and of course listening to my fellow hosts.
01:46.063 --> 01:46.143
[JOHN]: Yes.
01:46.163 --> 01:49.367
[JOHN]: So good to be on for this.
01:49.347 --> 01:54.536
[JOHN]: First episode of Invincible Season 4, making the world a better place.
01:54.596 --> 01:56.659
[DEREK]: Yeah, it was a little last minute that the Chris couldn't join us.
01:57.140 --> 02:00.185
[DEREK]: So I'm really thankful that you watched all three episodes of Invincible Season 4.
02:00.205 --> 02:02.029
[DEREK]: I mean, last night, so you do know what's going on.
02:02.149 --> 02:03.331
[DEREK]: You have watched all the seasons.
02:03.852 --> 02:05.174
[DEREK]: You are a big fan of Invincible as well.
02:05.194 --> 02:09.922
[DEREK]: But it just means our expert of Invincible Chris couldn't, it can't be here for this one.
02:09.942 --> 02:12.086
[DEREK]: So he will be back for the next two episodes.
02:12.606 --> 02:14.470
[DEREK]: He promised me he would be back for the other two episodes.
02:14.490 --> 02:14.730
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
02:14.710 --> 02:29.817
[JOHN]: the expected few dumb questions from myself, especially because I haven't really read the comics whilst I've loved the animation and the show plus there's so many different characters so I'm like, okay.
02:29.797 --> 02:50.017
[DEREK]: Yeah, there certainly is, but you see that's the weird part about this because I asked the dumb questions and Chris usually answers them, so now we'll just ask dumb questions to each other and hopefully our wonderful fellow guardians will answer in this case, because yeah, we're jumping straight back into Season 4 of the show, it's taking place directly after Season 3 in the aftermath of what happened at the end of the last season.
02:50.578 --> 02:55.483
[DEREK]: And what I love about this show is the amount of characters we have a sheet here which tells us all the actors.
02:55.463 --> 03:05.918
[DEREK]: that have played a role in each of the seasons into the episode so far and it's a bite to pages long, all of the wonderful actors and loads more being added this season as well.
03:05.978 --> 03:07.460
[DEREK]: So it's a great for that.
03:07.921 --> 03:09.123
[DEREK]: A great to have you with us John.
03:09.143 --> 03:10.104
[DEREK]: Thank you very much for joining us.
03:10.324 --> 03:13.108
[DEREK]: I think you have actually done an invincible episode at one point.
03:13.289 --> 03:13.709
[DEREK]: Yes.
03:13.729 --> 03:17.014
[DEREK]: Over the last three seasons we have been recording about invincible for five years.
03:17.695 --> 03:21.501
[DEREK]: So yeah, so I'm sure you have popped on for an episode or two.
03:21.521 --> 03:23.243
[DEREK]: So delightful to have you back on
03:23.223 --> 03:24.625
[JOHN]: hopping back on again.
03:25.106 --> 03:42.553
[JOHN]: But of course fellow guardians before we get into our spoiler filled discussion of this first episode of season 4, remember you can head on over to our website at tvpodcastindustries.com, where you can subscribe to any invincible or vulnerable podcasts player of your choice.

04:13.526 --> 04:16.028
[DEREK]: We will chat all about your thoughts on here.
04:16.008 --> 04:19.475
[JOHN]: Excellent, you'll be right right there.
04:19.535 --> 04:32.762
[JOHN]: Who gave us what we're when and how with the episode details of making the world a better place for you and for me And you and Ray see that's because Chris isn't here.
04:32.782 --> 04:33.403
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to sing.
04:33.423 --> 04:36.008
[SPEAKER_02]: I forgot that but I that's what keeps
04:35.988 --> 04:37.710
[SPEAKER_02]: It keeps taking me back to Michael Jackson.
04:37.770 --> 04:38.891
[SPEAKER_02]: It does, yes, definitely.
04:38.931 --> 04:40.793
[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's probably a reference as well.
04:41.734 --> 04:47.259
[DEREK]: Well, the show is of course based on the comic series written by Robert Kirkman and Illustrated by Corey Walker and Ryan Othley.
04:47.579 --> 04:51.643
[DEREK]: The show was developed by Robert Kirkman and Simon Rishi Opera for Prime Video.
04:51.963 --> 04:59.010
[DEREK]: The show is produced by Robert Kirkman David Alpert, Catherine Winder, Simon Rishi Opera, Margaret M. Dean, Seth Rogan and Evan Goberg.
04:59.451 --> 05:02.974
[DEREK]: This episode was written by Helen Lee, the fourth episode of her run.
05:02.954 --> 05:03.455
[DEREK]: invincible.
05:03.495 --> 05:09.146
[DEREK]: She also will be at an EV movie and is arrived on the upcoming invincible versus game which is coming out in a couple of weeks time.
05:09.627 --> 05:20.389
[DEREK]: That's the big beat-up we get to play any character fighting against the other characters in like a Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat final style if you're into those type of games so that's coming up a bit about four or five weeks time.
05:20.369 --> 05:21.311
[DEREK]: Yeah, sounds good.
05:21.331 --> 05:21.831
[DEREK]: Yeah, should be fun.
05:22.172 --> 05:23.494
[DEREK]: He should be on quest in the node.
05:23.795 --> 05:27.861
[DEREK]: It could be it could be The director of this episode is Saul Choi.
05:27.881 --> 05:34.091
[DEREK]: This is his fifth episode of invincible and he previously worked on Star Trek lower decks and I'm mighty No, please stop.
05:34.112 --> 05:36.235
[DEREK]: You've been watching mighty nine really.
05:36.255 --> 05:36.876
[JOHN]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
05:36.856 --> 05:42.962
[JOHN]: Absolutely recommend Mighty Nine for anyone who likes Dungeons and Dragons.
05:43.663 --> 05:47.587
[JOHN]: This is another animated series from Critical Role.
05:47.687 --> 05:52.453
[JOHN]: He did Legends of Vok Makina, which was great as well.
05:52.573 --> 05:53.293
[JOHN]: Really good.
05:53.794 --> 05:56.937
[JOHN]: Almost reminds me of the old Dungeons and Dragons cartoon.
05:57.678 --> 06:02.423
[JOHN]: I think that's the spirit in which it's delivered and really good.
06:03.044 --> 06:06.087
[DEREK]: The only thing I'm about to show is that I'm trying to get back
06:06.067 --> 06:07.228
[JOHN]: No, from that one.
06:07.248 --> 06:07.909
[JOHN]: Yes, exactly.
06:08.510 --> 06:12.055
[JOHN]: But do really like Mighty Nein and have finished that now.
06:12.095 --> 06:15.239
[JOHN]: So I would recommend anyone to go check it out.
06:15.559 --> 06:16.961
[JOHN]: Maybe finish a little abruptly.
06:17.001 --> 06:21.286
[JOHN]: I was expecting one more episode, but I guess they're just leading in for a season two.
06:21.486 --> 06:23.088
[JOHN]: It is kind of interesting.
06:23.108 --> 06:24.570
[JOHN]: So that will be really, really good.
06:24.871 --> 06:24.971
[JOHN]: Yeah.
06:25.171 --> 06:29.897
[JOHN]: And it is different from Vox Machina, boss.
06:29.877 --> 06:32.501
[JOHN]: got the same sharp wit which is great.
06:32.681 --> 06:32.882
[JOHN]: Yes.
06:33.102 --> 06:41.415
[JOHN]: So definitely check that out if I'm into that kind of fantasy dungeons and dragon worlds and also most of the same voice cast.
06:41.876 --> 06:45.642
[DEREK]: Oh, well, I guess the members of critical world of course.
06:45.622 --> 07:03.310
[DEREK]: But that's all toy that's where he's where he comes from and again this is his fifth episode of his invincible and John Since it's your first episode of invincible season four episode one and I've written out all the names and we have a synopsis for this episode We would like to read the synopsis for invincible 401 making the world a better place sure
07:03.290 --> 07:10.425
[JOHN]: Mark Oliver and Eve continue stopping Threx while dealing with the physical and mental aftermath of angstrom and conquest.
07:10.926 --> 07:23.914
[JOHN]: Cecilapoint's Brit as a leader of the Guardians of the Globe and merges the teen team back onto his leadership, causing great irritation in the newly renamed teen team leader Rex.
07:23.894 --> 07:42.383
[JOHN]: Mark meets Dinosaurus, a powerful being, he nearly kills the spite learning the creature's human host lacks control in his transform state, tensions rise during a difficult dinner with Eve and her parents as Mark learns Eve's father blames him for the loss of his career during the destruction of Chicago.
07:42.864 --> 07:47.792
[JOHN]: Her mother guides Eve to not set the bar too high for her relationship.
07:47.772 --> 07:56.513

08:04.192 --> 08:06.758
[JOHN]: The Guardians confront the secret threat with Mark's help.
08:06.958 --> 08:10.025
[JOHN]: They save all infected civilians using new technology.
08:10.306 --> 08:14.415
[JOHN]: Their Mark kills Russ Livingstone, the final host to end the danger.
08:14.936 --> 08:21.390
[JOHN]: Elsewhere, conquest awakens in captivity, but easily breaks free and leaves Earth.
08:22.906 --> 08:24.169
[JOHN]: He's alive, John.
08:24.509 --> 08:25.952
[DEREK]: Conquest is alive.
08:26.694 --> 08:28.638
[JOHN]: Certainly, certainly is little.
08:28.658 --> 08:38.077
[JOHN]: Oh, Cecil, up to his little games and certainly because Mark doesn't know about conquest, still being alive.
08:38.698 --> 08:39.700
[DEREK]: I know.
08:39.680 --> 08:47.509
[DEREK]: It just gets more and more ridiculous the length that Cecil will go to do things that will piss off Mark in the future, isn't it?
08:47.529 --> 08:49.772
[DEREK]: We'll talk all the better as we go through the points of course.
08:50.072 --> 09:09.214
[DEREK]: If you've been with us before for our invincible podcast, you'll know this of course But if this is your first time, we talk about our top moments from the episode and the post credits scene in separate points So let's start off a point number one, which is Mark Mark's family in recovery And so after last season and everything that happened with actually leaving what he was doing with the family in
09:09.194 --> 09:16.015
[DEREK]: the previous season as well and with the big battle between Mark and Conquest.
09:16.417 --> 09:23.169
[DEREK]: At the beginning of this episode, we see the whole family are all kind of struggling to deal with their new roles in the world.
09:23.790 --> 09:33.667
[DEREK]: Mark is still going out patrolling himself and Eve have set up the phone line in Vince Blink, including the two of them, plus now Young Oliver, who's grown up once again.
09:34.247 --> 09:34.388
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
09:34.568 --> 09:41.580
[DEREK]: All have to go ahead and call all the time to take on all the threats that are rising at the end of the world effectively.
09:41.864 --> 09:42.725
[JOHN]: Yeah, absolutely.
09:42.765 --> 09:51.635
[JOHN]: I mean, I kind of like this kind of PTSD mark and in fact, I had to kind of go back and think Did he lose normal leg?
09:51.695 --> 10:06.572
[JOHN]: I can't remember that because of the kind of metal casing around some some of his limbs and I suddenly was like even with the, you know, previously on I was like well, they didn't show that Yeah, but obviously with his
10:07.227 --> 10:22.249
[JOHN]: with his battle with dinosaurs and you see that they're just kind of almost just protection and more even more armored than just his normal skin I guess I'd even with that I would just wasn't sure because you know the character is in
10:22.229 --> 10:43.748
[DEREK]: So maybe he needed those caseings to help heal and you know things grow back Mark potentially you know every every single member of the Viltrumite race has been beaten to a pulp and come back a lot You know, so when you do see him for especially because the limbs look very like robot in the show You think limbs have been replaced with a little it looks really kind of striking
10:43.728 --> 10:53.001
[DEREK]: I do live in that battle with Dinosaur as I see bites into what you think is a robinarium and it breaks off and it's Mark going, well actually, now even more powerful than I thought it was.
10:53.481 --> 10:54.343
[DEREK]: Yeah.
10:54.883 --> 11:12.267
[JOHN]: So that was kind of quite good, and I like the fact that this kind of whole battle with Dinosaur is really where Mark is struggling and to, yeah, he's got to go from battle to battle to battle and sort of mopping up and all these
11:12.247 --> 11:32.415
[JOHN]: super powered humans and individuals that have come out of the woodwork post this kind of real almost apocalyptic sort of battle previously with all the different inventables uh... the angstrom of dawn and obviously with conquests arrival so i like the fact that he uh... he struggles
11:32.395 --> 11:43.063
[JOHN]: around whether he should just in a sense kill dinosaurs once he's gone to human form so that the threat no longer comes back and and I think
11:43.550 --> 11:49.338
[JOHN]: You know, it is one of those things, like it's almost, well, I've dealt with you before and now you're coming back again.
11:49.558 --> 11:54.745
[JOHN]: You know, we need to kind of put you to bed once and for all.
11:54.765 --> 11:56.788
[JOHN]: And so you kind of struggles with that.
11:56.808 --> 12:05.099
[JOHN]: You see him even though the guy is pleading with him that, you know, he goes off to sleep and is infected through his dream.
12:05.159 --> 12:11.768
[JOHN]: So he's got no control over when he will get transformed into dinosaurs.
12:11.748 --> 12:24.311
[DEREK]: Exactly, and interestingly dinosaurs has a theory similar to Thanos from the MCU, which is the idea that the death of all of the people that's from happening because of all these attacks, that's actually a benefit to the human rights.
12:24.331 --> 12:27.517
[DEREK]: You kill off more people, the food will spread wider around the world.
12:27.537 --> 12:28.879
[DEREK]: That's the dinosaurs'
12:28.859 --> 12:37.694
[DEREK]: idea here, but I love that that's something that we know from Marvel with Thanos, that that was why he did the snap, because you can spread resources much wider.
12:38.295 --> 12:43.484
[DEREK]: So again, Mark calls about going to Guy with a crazy idea, is about hitting save of the world.
12:43.864 --> 12:55.103
[DEREK]: And then he turns back into a human, basically Mark punches the dinosaur off the human that's inside him, and this poor guy is being strangled to death by Mark, because Mark is
12:55.083 --> 12:57.567
[DEREK]: on willing to allow anybody to live now at this stage.
12:58.148 --> 13:07.341
[DEREK]: As we've seen the progress of this character throughout the last few seasons in season one, Mark couldn't possibly believe that his father Nellon could kill any human being at all.
13:08.683 --> 13:10.626
[DEREK]: But he was willing to destroy it in an entire city.
13:10.786 --> 13:11.607
[DEREK]: Mark's net done that.
13:12.028 --> 13:17.997
[DEREK]: Twice a thing, his kill is destroys entire cities in his pursuit of of who he's seeing as the villain.
13:18.417 --> 13:24.887
[DEREK]: And last season he made the decision if anybody puts his
13:24.867 --> 13:28.732
[DEREK]: going too killed down the source and then things better over when the rest of the guardians come along.
13:28.832 --> 13:49.558
[JOHN]: Well that's it it's like it's it's PTSD but it's all the it's the experience of him with his father it's the fact that as you when you see that previously on you realize how many people got killed it in that attack from the guardians of the globe and you you see that and evil so
13:49.538 --> 13:56.448
[JOHN]: on her death bed, you know, as well as Mark being pummeled into almost non-existence by conquest.
13:56.468 --> 14:03.258
[JOHN]: So like, the stakes are way higher and you see why he's battling.
14:03.318 --> 14:11.530
[JOHN]: It makes sense that he would and should be battling how do I neutralize stop threats?
14:11.510 --> 14:18.865
[JOHN]: if in some cases they're just going to keep coming back and back and back and also the reaction of everybody that he'd saved as well.
14:18.885 --> 14:32.151
[DEREK]: You know, the Guardian's working alongside and they don't seem particularly pleased to see Mark and see Eve after every in the Hapma conquest I guess at the humans they're around that are restoring the buildings and then he gets into fights in the same location where they've been building.
14:32.131 --> 14:43.534
[DEREK]: buildings backup for months and destroys them again, you know, and that seems to be a recurring thing for them, and you know, Mark's not going to be able to pay you for the rebuilding, so people are getting more and more angry at these fights that are going on.
14:43.574 --> 14:45.598
[DEREK]: You know, I really ace eavesdats.
14:45.839 --> 14:47.963
[DEREK]: I really don't like the character.
14:47.943 --> 14:51.988
[DEREK]: But sometimes he is the voice of the other humans at there.
14:52.008 --> 14:56.353
[DEREK]: Sometimes he says things like, you know, your friends got into a fight and my daughter got hurt.
14:56.413 --> 15:06.886
[DEREK]: So he may not be the only person in the world of the things that Mark's just reacting with other people similar to himself and the world is their playground and they're destroying the place as they go, you know.
15:07.467 --> 15:08.248
[DEREK]: So that's really bad.
15:08.288 --> 15:10.751
[DEREK]: And then the other kind of echoing of what's going on.
15:10.811 --> 15:11.892
[DEREK]: Mark's very quiet here.
15:11.912 --> 15:16.077
[DEREK]: He's just going about his duty and the other echoing of that is his little brother Oliver.
15:16.057 --> 15:26.419
[DEREK]: who last season was a kid with the new powers running round, wanted to get into every fight and now we just want to sit down and play his video game for five minutes, they're being dragged date to go into a battle.
15:26.880 --> 15:28.564
[DEREK]: And that must be how...
15:28.848 --> 15:39.564
[DEREK]: Mark's been feeling all the time, you know, he's the only person that keep calling on for every single thing we saw in having to miss dates with evil last season and he's felt like this for ages.
15:39.744 --> 15:41.607
[DEREK]: He thought he had Oliver Poseidon.
15:41.807 --> 15:44.231
[DEREK]: He gets a big fight with Oliver because Oliver doesn't want to go out anymore.
15:44.271 --> 15:49.238
[DEREK]: He's just sick, but he just wants to go to bed, have a bit of a rest, and then maybe get up the next day.
15:49.359 --> 15:50.420
[JOHN]: It's okay.
15:50.640 --> 15:54.366
[JOHN]: He's a teenager and he's just...
15:54.346 --> 15:59.998
[JOHN]: like he's been asked to grow up really quickly, so definitely.
16:00.018 --> 16:01.000
[JOHN]: So I like this.
16:01.080 --> 16:12.203
[JOHN]: I like this and how, you know, we get to see Mark and his family and his with his girlfriend if, you know, just sort of getting
16:12.841 --> 16:21.472
[JOHN]: trying to figure it all out still after such a big sort of traumatic milestone that happened at the end.
16:21.492 --> 16:34.389
[JOHN]: I mean, it's interesting as well that his mom seems to have found like her next best friend in a sense, going up all and a good old Paul and that they're just finding out about one another again.
16:34.430 --> 16:38.595
[JOHN]: So he's like that's kind of almost a little bit of a reflection to what.
16:38.828 --> 16:43.172
[JOHN]: like Mark and Oliver and Eva having to do with the same heavy burden.
16:43.313 --> 16:43.713
[JOHN]: Yeah.
16:43.733 --> 16:47.537
[JOHN]: All of a sudden it's become a lot nicer for his mother because of Paul.
16:47.557 --> 16:47.937
[DEREK]: Exactly.
16:48.037 --> 16:48.137
[DEREK]: Yeah.
16:48.157 --> 16:48.258
[DEREK]: Yeah.
16:48.358 --> 16:48.958
[DEREK]: That's really good.
16:48.978 --> 16:49.399
[DEREK]: It's really good.
16:49.939 --> 16:58.068
[DEREK]: Speaking of the other major humans in the show, I just want to talk a little bit about the dinner with the eaves parents, because those are awkward at the best of times the first time.
16:58.088 --> 17:03.113
[DEREK]: He said to him for a meal with you with the in-laws or the parents of your partner.
17:04.374 --> 17:06.456
[DEREK]: Bush, as I say,
17:06.436 --> 17:10.862
[DEREK]: her dad is horrible anyway and he instantly starts in at Mark.
17:11.482 --> 17:34.452
[DEREK]: I thought it was quite interesting that he was able to trace back a hatred from Mark very specifically that the headquarters of his business was in Chicago which was destroyed in that battle from Mark and his friends as the dad says and so he believes that Mark is kind of responsible for the fact that he no longer has
17:34.432 --> 17:47.249
[DEREK]: I do get the feeling with Eve's dad that no matter what, even if he wasn't involved in that business, he would offend some way to blame it on Mark or find something that Mark was responsible for in his life that he would hate Mark for.
17:47.309 --> 17:48.351
[DEREK]: That's kind of the thing.
17:48.991 --> 17:52.957
[DEREK]: He declares that it's just purely because he's protective of his daughter.
17:54.078 --> 18:02.970
[DEREK]: But while they're having this conversation, just another very interesting conversation going on indoors with Eve and her mom,
18:02.950 --> 18:05.313
[DEREK]: I like Trudad when we got together first as well.
18:05.954 --> 18:10.641
[DEREK]: Don't set your, your barred too high for your relationship because people change over time.
18:10.701 --> 18:13.625
[DEREK]: Look what I ended up with kind of, but not, yeah.
18:13.645 --> 18:19.233
[JOHN]: It's almost like it's not going to be physical for the, all your life because you're going to get old and withery.
18:19.533 --> 18:19.734
[DEREK]: Exactly.
18:19.754 --> 18:22.157
[JOHN]: Things are going to start to droop or not work.
18:22.137 --> 18:44.167
[DEREK]: Yeah, but I do feel like she was trying to blame it more on the dad with that saying it She was kind of saying look what I look with and I started out it seemed to be okay when we started But it was code absolutely was and it was it was a good Tense dinner and I mean in the end like even Mark just kind of want to get out of there But I think you're right.
18:44.227 --> 18:45.529
[JOHN]: I think it's that
18:45.509 --> 19:03.771
[JOHN]: Eve's dad is supposed to be unlikable when everything's all happy, but this show takes you on a journey where even despite having all these powers at something that these physical powers are still having to deal with the same old stuff.
19:03.751 --> 19:17.614
[JOHN]: Yeah, whether it's domestically or fising, or the super-powered people, and actually have farther than because it was the voice of the normal person, which is really, really good.
19:17.995 --> 19:24.105
[JOHN]: And then you have laid on top of that, the fact that, yeah, the father and mother really in a sense of
19:24.878 --> 19:32.228
[JOHN]: outlived one another, but they're staying together through, in a sense, a safety.
19:32.828 --> 19:41.820
[JOHN]: Well, yes, or just, it's a companionship now rather than anything to do with love or attraction.
19:41.960 --> 19:45.705
[DEREK]: Yeah, I don't even know if it's that, whether it's mom, it sounds like,
19:45.685 --> 19:47.048
[DEREK]: Like, signed up for this.
19:47.068 --> 19:47.989
[DEREK]: Yeah, I think that's it.
19:48.009 --> 19:53.540
[DEREK]: And he kind of almost clicks his fingers and says, it's our time, time for our show now into the main room.
19:53.760 --> 19:57.888
[DEREK]: It's kind of like what I did last night when we were watching the first couple of episodes of invincible John sit down here.
19:58.009 --> 20:00.373
[DEREK]: We have to watch three episodes of it.
20:00.393 --> 20:02.577
[JOHN]: Yeah, she, I mean, she's tired.
20:02.617 --> 20:06.124
[JOHN]: She should by right leave him and what?
20:06.931 --> 20:16.671
[JOHN]: in a sense, there's also something keeping her there, whether that's fear, monetary, whatever, who knows, yeah, maybe.
20:16.811 --> 20:24.366
[JOHN]: So yeah, but I think with that on to point number two, because the sequence return, you know, maybe
20:24.346 --> 20:28.730
[JOHN]: And Mom would be better as a sequitur, and they're controls individual.
20:29.892 --> 20:30.012
[DEREK]: Maybe.
20:30.032 --> 20:31.013
[JOHN]: I love a sequitur.
20:31.093 --> 20:34.116
[JOHN]: I think this is real science fiction.
20:35.077 --> 20:38.400
[JOHN]: You know, it really is that thing of, from outer space.
20:38.861 --> 20:40.683
[JOHN]: It is the tale of the body snatchers.
20:40.863 --> 20:41.303
[SPEAKER_02]: Very, very, very.
20:41.323 --> 20:42.865
[JOHN]: You know, all that kind of stuff.
20:43.145 --> 20:48.230
[JOHN]: So I really like how all of a sudden, I mean, not out of nowhere, clearly.
20:48.771 --> 20:49.552
[JOHN]: I'm out of the series.
20:49.612 --> 20:50.413
[SPEAKER_02]: Out of the sewers.
20:51.454 --> 20:53.796
[JOHN]: You suddenly get this huge, big,
20:55.312 --> 21:00.059
[JOHN]: epic event happening in the middle of the the episode, which I wasn't expecting.
21:00.079 --> 21:08.430
[JOHN]: I mean, at one point I was like going If we've got onto the second episode here, and you realize again how these are an hour long.
21:08.450 --> 21:11.094
[JOHN]: Yeah, roughly But this was great.
21:11.314 --> 21:23.091
[DEREK]: I love that you had and all the circuits returning absolutely Yeah, there's a really interesting interview between the two seasons a season three and season four with with the show winner Sam Rishi-Opa
21:23.071 --> 21:31.906
[DEREK]: who kind of said, you know, when they originally pitched the show, they pitched it as an air along, he'd always done half air cartoons, and went, it's just two half airs stuck together, isn't it?
21:32.126 --> 21:39.358
[DEREK]: And then realize, no, no, you have to have a full arc for an episode, and it has a very different structure to it, it's not just a beige having.
21:39.338 --> 21:57.533
[DEREK]: two episodes stuck together and that way you would think it is about writing a story that has three full arcs and it effectively and has that structure very differently so that's that's quite cool but yeah the sequence we saw them coming from from Mars
21:57.513 --> 22:12.767
[DEREK]: piggybacking on the back of Ross Livingston, the former astronaut who went up to Mars, they came to Earth, they arrived in Earth and they've been building their plans against us effectively underneath the war.
22:12.787 --> 22:14.391
[DEREK]: The world's absolutely exactly.
22:14.371 --> 22:20.277
[DEREK]: And that I've been down in the, down in the sewers doing this, I think that I love the kind of intro to this again.
22:20.317 --> 22:27.044
[DEREK]: You've got two very normal guys trying to work out why the sewers are all plugged up, thinking it's rats and then go, oh, hang out a second.
22:27.064 --> 22:32.270
[DEREK]: Well, the rat possibly be clogged by rats and they haven't seen a rat for ages.
22:32.650 --> 22:39.197
[DEREK]: And then, yeah, this explosion of sequins coming out of the sewers and coming out of the streets.
22:39.177 --> 22:41.683
[DEREK]: and it takes everybody to combine together.
22:41.703 --> 22:42.926
[DEREK]: We have to bring Mark back in.
22:43.066 --> 22:49.881
[DEREK]: We have to bring all of the team team and the Guardians of the Globe all together.
22:49.942 --> 22:51.966
[JOHN]: What is the swarm of sequences?
22:51.986 --> 22:56.697
[JOHN]: I mean, when the manhole started blowing and it was just like,
22:56.677 --> 23:20.693
[JOHN]: pink sack with sort of almost like a liquid flowing out and I thought how and earth are they going to contain this but they do have a new tech so they've got this force field that can contain them and but and also then all of the guardians have got a kind of a sonic wristband that allows them to
23:20.673 --> 23:37.382
[JOHN]: disabled the the sacred that has connected itself to the human and then the shooter dot to teleports the the human away out of danger and again danger from reinfection I guess from the sacred and so
23:37.362 --> 23:45.679
[JOHN]: I kind of like this kind of little battle, war of the worlds going on between the humans and the set queer.
23:45.699 --> 23:46.560
[JOHN]: Absolutely.
23:46.580 --> 23:55.017
[JOHN]: Yeah, I like the fact that you have, you know, robust and rudely sort of going back down into the sewers to investigate, because
23:55.722 --> 23:57.545
[JOHN]: you know, what's going on?
23:57.605 --> 23:58.987
[JOHN]: Where are all these coming from?
23:59.028 --> 24:11.128
[JOHN]: And you kind of have the the leader are of the guardians, Brits saying no don't don't follow my orders and just keep attacking the set quids.
24:11.608 --> 24:18.540
[JOHN]: It is in a sense almost as though, you know, Ross is trying to just
24:18.520 --> 24:36.580
[JOHN]: distract them, really, as he's preparing them, the sacquids, this consciousness to attack the dome, the standing, but wrecks going down the, I'm finding more humans getting them safe and just
24:36.560 --> 24:47.644
[JOHN]: You know, very, um, well, almost getting caught in self with a sec, which was great with the dot and teleporting to safety.
24:48.225 --> 24:57.184
[JOHN]: And, you know, I just thought this whole thing was super but I liked how it played in as well with Marks kind of, um,
24:57.772 --> 24:59.676
[JOHN]: You know, how do we actually defeat these?
24:59.976 --> 25:01.559
[JOHN]: Because here they come again.
25:01.620 --> 25:02.080
[JOHN]: Yeah.
25:02.101 --> 25:03.423
[JOHN]: And here come the Secquids again.
25:03.563 --> 25:10.397
[DEREK]: And like if you remember them on Mars, you know, everybody was stuck with the Secquids around and they were, they were being taken over.
25:10.597 --> 25:17.852
[DEREK]: And effectively they were fighting the other powered members of the Guardians of the Globe or fighting each other as they got taken over by Secquids.
25:17.872 --> 25:18.092
[DEREK]: So,
25:18.072 --> 25:31.974
[DEREK]: This plan that's here with British under new abilities and the new things that they're they're able to use to take at the second this is a very meticulous plan That he believes everybody has to follow given how bad an alternate last time, right?
25:31.994 --> 25:43.152
[DEREK]: Yeah, so then the here and they have the access to the correct the correct Technology they should be able to take out the circuits as long as they get there in time before they break down the barrier
25:43.132 --> 25:55.217
[DEREK]: and then a down to mark and he has to make a split second decision and his decision is that he's going to kill uh... rush livingston the kind of center point of all the second yeah but i mean i like the hell that is kind of
25:57.003 --> 26:09.539
[JOHN]: He's trying not to, it's a timing thing because you have bullet proof trying to get the sonic wrist band so that effectively they take out Ross Livingston by detaching the set quit.
26:09.879 --> 26:12.342
[JOHN]: Because he was the first one to be reinfected.
26:12.382 --> 26:15.687
[JOHN]: He there that's kind of like the mother in a sense.
26:15.927 --> 26:16.868
[JOHN]: And yeah.
26:17.523 --> 26:22.894
[JOHN]: the shield is gradually, the integrity of the shield is gradually ticking down.
26:23.796 --> 26:29.788
[JOHN]: Bulletproof is racing to get this sonic device to Mark.
26:30.269 --> 26:32.012
[JOHN]: Mark is holding rust.
26:33.896 --> 26:34.958
[JOHN]: Like
26:34.938 --> 26:42.991
[JOHN]: Waiting, waiting, waiting in the end, Jair decides to put his fists through his face, and ultimately all the sacquids Yeah, I'll neutralize.
26:43.011 --> 26:46.056
[JOHN]: Yeah, but it then plays into the again.
26:46.497 --> 26:55.612
[JOHN]: It's the opposite of what it happens with dinosaurs But with dinosaurs he does manage to get pulled back from that by the arrival of the Guardians.
26:55.752 --> 26:56.293
[JOHN]: Exactly.
26:56.714 --> 26:56.794
[JOHN]: Yeah
26:56.774 --> 27:03.062
[JOHN]: they see him punch through Russ Livingston's fate, neutralizing the threat.
27:03.423 --> 27:06.847
[JOHN]: And I think what's really good here is this is an event that's happened.
27:07.108 --> 27:08.690
[JOHN]: Mark has killed someone.
27:09.250 --> 27:09.831
[JOHN]: Yes, not.
27:10.111 --> 27:11.433
[JOHN]: He didn't immediately do it.
27:11.493 --> 27:16.540
[JOHN]: He did wait for Bulletproof, but in making the judgment well, how we got enough time.
27:16.600 --> 27:21.246
[JOHN]: He took the decision
27:21.226 --> 27:23.849
[JOHN]: and stop the threat and he does do.
27:23.869 --> 27:32.560
[JOHN]: And so I guess this is going to be a moment at least in the series to some degree because it counters, as I say, with the dinosaurs.
27:32.580 --> 27:39.228
[DEREK]: It does and remember that last time he's done this in Mark's mind, he's killed actually, and he's also killed conquest as well.
27:39.388 --> 27:48.499
[DEREK]: So all massive choices of Mark that he's made to take out major people that were destroying the planet.
27:48.850 --> 28:01.008
[DEREK]: In the first case, Statnesaurus, who may be destroyed a few buildings, Mark was a bait to kill him and then stopped himself, and here he kills Effectively someone that has been, whose mind has been taken over by the sequels.
28:01.509 --> 28:07.898
[DEREK]: Another human, given that there's so many other humans that have been saved by the actions of the garden as a globe, him choosing to kill.
28:08.579 --> 28:10.622
[DEREK]: Russell Emerson is quite a big choice.
28:10.602 --> 28:25.045
[DEREK]: And he's making the more regularly now, it's kind of the big thing, he's making these choices to let someone live or die as a decision to prevent future crimes, which is always where these questions come from in comic books, right?
28:25.065 --> 28:31.395
[DEREK]: You know, the idea that Batman has a code that he won't kill anybody, Superman won't kill anybody, but when they do,
28:31.375 --> 28:34.680
[DEREK]: Well, went through their mind when that person died, right?
28:35.501 --> 28:38.285
[DEREK]: So here's Mark, making these decisions almost daily now.
28:38.786 --> 28:39.066
[DEREK]: Yeah.
28:39.086 --> 28:39.186
[DEREK]: Yeah.
28:39.547 --> 28:40.128
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
28:41.309 --> 28:41.450
[DEREK]: Yes.
28:41.590 --> 28:46.637
[JOHN]: Really great moment with this kind of mega battle of the sacquids.
28:46.757 --> 28:47.158
[DEREK]: Yeah.
28:47.178 --> 28:52.306
[DEREK]: And let's get on to our point number three, an introduction of a brand new character for the show.
28:52.666 --> 28:57.433
[DEREK]: We have Eternah coming in to drain power.
28:58.274 --> 29:17.415
[DEREK]: The big reason why this stands out to me is because it's another member of the Walking Dead cast from the same pen that roast the Walking Dead color books over Kirkman, he brings aboard Denai Garera, who played Michonne on Walking Dead in Black Panther, of course, one of the favorite characters on both of those properties really.
29:18.036 --> 29:27.606
[DEREK]: Lover is Michonne on the Walking Dead and here she is playing Eta Herna, an alien who is basically looking for energy to save her home planet.
29:27.586 --> 29:34.934
[DEREK]: You'll hear from the quote in the beginning of that my favorite line from her which is basically that she's There's so much energy being broadcast out of earth.
29:34.994 --> 29:38.117
[DEREK]: She can see it from from Seller's systems away.
29:38.157 --> 29:45.245
[DEREK]: She can she can identify earth's there just Beaming at all this power on her home planet needs power to to save it.
29:45.285 --> 29:54.975
[DEREK]: So she's been trapped attracted to earth like a beacon And she's going to take all of the power from from earth to bring it back home So Mark and honey you've have to go on stop right.
29:54.995 --> 29:55.956
[DEREK]: Yeah, yeah
29:55.936 --> 30:18.531
[JOHN]: I mean, I guess here it's, I don't really know the character of a Turner, but I do like the fact that I think firstly that, you know, we see eaves powers fail, which must be some possibly something to do with the the resurrection almost over from the the last season.
30:18.551 --> 30:19.292
[JOHN]: I don't know.
30:19.312 --> 30:21.015
[JOHN]: And but equally
30:21.890 --> 30:49.517
[JOHN]: What I really like here is Mark does manage to disarm her with her staff, but only she can hold it so it's taken out and is about to Is about to kind of Point and shoot the staff at Mark and despite Eve's powers failing a good right hook and I just like that you know the omnipotence of Eternah here
30:49.497 --> 30:55.227
[JOHN]: Just effectively the end big not doubt by by Eve who comes to Mark's rescue.
30:55.267 --> 31:04.944
[JOHN]: So yeah, I thought this was a nice little segment actually and it'd be interesting to see how Or what happens with a turn and her staff of leadership.
31:05.004 --> 31:07.168
[DEREK]: Yeah, that's the staff of leadership
31:07.148 --> 31:18.461
[DEREK]: So part of the reason why we always call out these kind of points on invincible because nothings in episodes for no reason a Turner is a named character who was on a cover of an issue and not just because of this battle.
31:18.501 --> 31:34.219
[DEREK]: I'm presuming again I haven't read beyond any of these episodes but when you have a character appearing telling you some kind of backstory in this case the character is telling you that her home planet is dying and if she doesn't get the energy
31:34.199 --> 31:38.438
[DEREK]: I presume that is enough of a reason for another.
31:39.363 --> 31:49.238
[DEREK]: antagonist in the future, it would be the right word, and since the staff of leadership is what she was carrying as well, I wonder what will happen to that in the future.
31:49.258 --> 32:05.303
[DEREK]: So part of it is the story and what happens with Eve, she's losing her powers, their failing honor, Eve has been such a strong character, she obviously was the one that was able to save Mark from conquest as well at the end of last season, so her
32:05.283 --> 32:21.626
[DEREK]: immense power that she was able to gather together to herself at the end of the last season and now her powers are failing, that's the big story that we're supposed to gain from this but also keep an eye on the character of a tourter, a play by denegre rare, you know, you're going yeah, she's probably going to be back, actually probably going to be pretty angry.
32:21.907 --> 32:26.413
[JOHN]: Yeah, an introduction to an introduction to Eve's failing powers.
32:26.393 --> 32:39.937
[DEREK]: And once again, Earth being a beacon at into the galaxy, drawing in more and more of these antagonistic words always interesting to see what happens with those in the future, because you never doubt in this show at all, right?
32:40.278 --> 32:40.719
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
32:41.380 --> 32:44.706
[DEREK]: The last one that we talked about is just the post-credits scene.
32:44.686 --> 33:12.938
[DEREK]: A little bit of a shocker we knew ourselves that Conquest was underground, he'd been plunked there by Cecil towards the end of the last season after the big battle, so he knew he was there, absolutely did not expect him to awaken this episode, we see him opening an eye and then he just breaks out of the what you think is a planet sized waist on top of he breaks out of it, no problem, but I'll make it over Earth go and the kids should
33:12.918 --> 33:26.402
[DEREK]: And you know what's going to happen with Conquest, he was a massive battle for Mark, you know, Mark was in hospital for months recovering, trying to recover from the injuries that were inflicted on and by Conquest.
33:26.502 --> 33:31.551
[DEREK]: So, the question that came to me, this is what I was going to ask Chris, if he was here was correct.
33:31.531 --> 33:33.936
[DEREK]: who would Mark have killed Conquest?
33:34.077 --> 33:34.638
[DEREK]: Yes.
33:34.798 --> 33:41.694
[DEREK]: I don't know whether he had the ability to kill Conquest with himself and Eve combined.
33:41.714 --> 33:46.204
[DEREK]: They were able to take him out and Mark probably thought he killed Conquest, but could he have?
33:46.645 --> 33:49.471
[JOHN]: I mean, he was pretty taken out from what I remember.
33:49.532 --> 33:51.075
[JOHN]: And I think,
33:51.055 --> 33:54.441
[JOHN]: Yeah, I mean, he could have absolutely, he may not have done.
33:55.062 --> 33:56.565
[JOHN]: Sorry, I should rephrase that.
33:56.585 --> 33:58.649
[JOHN]: I think conquest absolutely could have been killed.
33:59.210 --> 34:13.215
[JOHN]: And I think maybe it was to see so given conquest was absolutely unconscious, out of it to effectively take off his head.
34:13.195 --> 34:22.090
[JOHN]: in all God's name he kept him alive and thought he could contain him and last he had some son level of energy to contain him.
34:22.331 --> 34:22.792
[JOHN]: I don't know.
34:22.972 --> 34:30.585
[DEREK]: Well, the thing with Cecil is Cecil is thinks he's always thinking five steps ahead, right?
34:30.605 --> 34:33.330
[DEREK]: So his problem is what if
34:33.310 --> 34:36.774
[DEREK]: Nolan comes back or Mark turns into a new Nolan.
34:36.914 --> 34:40.619
[DEREK]: Could they control conquest of have conquest fight against?
34:41.059 --> 34:46.926
[DEREK]: So he's found a weapon that's stronger than the worst possible scenario that he's seeing could happen.
34:47.007 --> 34:55.116
[DEREK]: So could he be able to turn conquest on or could he extract the power that's within conquest for other weapons that could take it?
34:55.176 --> 35:02.305
[JOHN]: You know, that's the kind of stuff that
35:03.179 --> 35:13.394
[JOHN]: of, yeah, extraction, experimentation may have been done by Cecil's hoard of the baritory technicians.
35:13.614 --> 35:13.815
[JOHN]: Yes.
35:14.095 --> 35:14.856
[JOHN]: Two conquest.
35:15.197 --> 35:16.298
[JOHN]: Yeah.
35:16.318 --> 35:32.983
[JOHN]: But again, I guess there would have to be a lab around him where they could, you know, put syringes into his, um, very stupid scheme and all this kind of
35:33.976 --> 35:41.588
[JOHN]: Now maybe then he couldn't, maybe he couldn't have killed him, maybe he would have done because what happened to Eve.
35:42.169 --> 35:47.777
[JOHN]: So I think, yes Mark probably had it in him to kill him, but was also so taken out by him.
35:48.238 --> 35:54.327
[JOHN]: He didn't have the strength to, and he should have fallen to Cecil to be honest.
35:54.347 --> 35:56.030
[JOHN]: He should have done us, but he never got to.
35:58.093 --> 36:00.557
[JOHN]: But I, it's also interesting he just left.
36:00.537 --> 36:01.841
[JOHN]: as well, you know.
36:01.861 --> 36:11.067
[JOHN]: In the same way as he entered the world, he left earth, you know, or the orbit of earth.
36:11.087 --> 36:14.597
[DEREK]: Yeah, he did, and I'm very glad that it didn't do a
36:14.678 --> 36:31.473
[DEREK]: I'm going to say a home-lander moment for those of you who watch the boys with a naked conquest standing over, so I'm glad he just left the orbit, saying that Mark was very stupid for letting him live, and that's it, that's our main points from the episode.
36:31.774 --> 36:44.145
[DEREK]: I don't really have one note just to mention, just because it was interesting, there's a moment where Oliver goes back to Art, who makes all of the costumes for all the heroes,
36:44.125 --> 36:48.670
[DEREK]: gets a new costume because Oliver's grown quite a lot since the last season.
36:48.750 --> 36:54.356
[DEREK]: He was, as I said, a young kid last time, he's now grown into looking like a teenager at this stage.
36:54.376 --> 37:09.171
[DEREK]: He's probably only about eight or nine months old, but he is the size of a teenager, so he's got a new costume and Debbie's the one that brings them with them and they kind of have a discussion about the fact that he has the same symbol that Omni Man used to wear on his chest.
37:09.151 --> 37:28.172
[DEREK]: Oliver now saying that he is taking ownership of that symbol that symbol is now him as kid omniman he's not it's no longer associated with Nolan in the past it's associated with him now so that's why he wants to keep it so I thought that was kind of cool and Debbie remembering when he first got that symbol on him when his father Nolan got the symbol first
37:28.152 --> 37:28.732
[JOHN]: Excellent.
37:28.753 --> 37:33.857
[JOHN]: And for me, it like, yeah, I really enjoyed this opener to season four.
37:33.937 --> 37:39.061
[JOHN]: I'd give it four deep fried sequitrings out of five.
37:39.101 --> 37:40.923
[JOHN]: There's a little wedge of lemon.
37:41.043 --> 37:42.764
[JOHN]: I think that's some black pepper over it.
37:43.265 --> 37:43.946
[JOHN]: And quite nice.
37:44.926 --> 37:49.670
[JOHN]: But yeah, I know this was really really just a good opener.
37:49.710 --> 37:50.811
[JOHN]: You know, nice recap.
37:50.911 --> 37:52.933
[JOHN]: Good to see the consequences of what's going on.
37:53.334 --> 37:57.417
[JOHN]: You know, some intrigue, what's happening
37:57.397 --> 38:16.656
[JOHN]: awakening, heading away from Earth and the introduction of a Turner, but also just having the sacred battle here, you know, those that we've seen before really, you know, interesting and just how that plays to Marx frame of mind here.
38:16.676 --> 38:17.818
[JOHN]: Yes, up around.
38:17.798 --> 38:26.172
[JOHN]: you know, he should really be putting these threats to bed, should we say, and how best to do that?
38:26.292 --> 38:30.739
[DEREK]: So the very least have agreement with somebody else who's also going to put them to bed.
38:30.759 --> 38:36.388
[DEREK]: So like at least have an over to the to an authority that wants to kill them, not use them as experimental happens in the future.
38:36.609 --> 38:37.410
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
38:37.390 --> 38:44.062
[DEREK]: I did also, like, as I say, I think my favorite moment in the episode is Mark Punching the Dinosaur off a human.
38:44.082 --> 38:45.024
[DEREK]: I thought that was quite fun.
38:45.565 --> 38:53.940
[DEREK]: So that's a smoke-care isn't it's just a regular human, like the Lizards and Spider-Man comics just appearing going, I have no control over that dinosaur.
38:53.960 --> 38:54.741
[DEREK]: That was great.
38:54.721 --> 38:58.086
[DEREK]: But let's hear some feedback from our wonderful fellow guardians.
38:58.246 --> 38:59.488
[JOHN]: Yes, exactly.
38:59.528 --> 39:02.271
[JOHN]: First up, we have an email from Joe.
39:02.712 --> 39:12.025
[JOHN]: Hi fellow guardians, I just finished the first episode of Season 4 of Invincible and it was the perfect continuation of the huge story set at the Season 3 finale.
39:12.405 --> 39:23.901
[JOHN]: It is really interesting to see Mark dealing with everything that happens, how civilians perceive him, his guilt, and his new
39:23.881 --> 39:34.279
[JOHN]: As is watching the rest of the characters wreck to Mark's struggle, especially the Guardians of the Globe, it is especially funny to see Paul deal with his new steps on his head.
39:34.299 --> 39:39.749
[JOHN]: A wonder what will happen when, if Nolan returns to Earth and wants to recover his wife.
39:40.190 --> 39:44.758
[JOHN]: So excited for the next episode.
39:44.738 --> 39:48.023
[JOHN]: Thanks so much, Joe, for the feedback.
39:48.043 --> 39:51.869
[JOHN]: Yeah, I think it is really good seeing how Mark deals with everything.
39:52.511 --> 39:56.978
[JOHN]: And as I say, the guilt, I think this newfound will to kill anyone.
39:57.118 --> 40:05.592
[JOHN]: I think it's also specifically, it might be the security of the world, but I think as well, it's also very specifically if they threaten his family.
40:06.293 --> 40:08.857
[JOHN]: And I guess Eve, by extensions, absolutely.
40:08.877 --> 40:12.062
[JOHN]: Like, you know, he's become the...
40:12.042 --> 40:14.766
[JOHN]: Is the protective bunny, I guess?
40:14.907 --> 40:15.868
[DEREK]: Well, yeah.
40:15.948 --> 40:19.414
[DEREK]: And again, if you book if someone puts his family in danger, he's saying you will die.
40:19.854 --> 40:20.776
[DEREK]: So absolutely.
40:20.796 --> 40:21.577
[DEREK]: So absolutely does that.
40:21.818 --> 40:23.540
[JOHN]: Uncategorically, absolutely.
40:23.560 --> 40:39.045
[DEREK]: Which I pretty much guarantee that means somebody's going to put his family in jail for things.
40:39.025 --> 40:59.498
[JOHN]: Seems like he's not able to move past the fact that there's a super hero's an ace and everything else is going on He feels like he doesn't want to really interrupt them I do like the awkward moment where he's trying to leave the house and all of us like Tenston Morgan says you've not been a ram on Yeah, you know, of course he's been staying over and this kind of stops that is really good
40:59.478 --> 41:00.881
[JOHN]: Yeah, totally with you there.
41:00.901 --> 41:01.903
[DEREK]: But he does want to move in with her.
41:02.103 --> 41:02.784
[DEREK]: Yeah, absolutely.
41:02.804 --> 41:03.746
[DEREK]: He does want to get a high-stogether.
41:04.287 --> 41:11.361
[DEREK]: I wonder if that's just a way of the two of them being together and maybe Mark and Oliver can stay in the house that they're in or something.
41:11.401 --> 41:11.982
[DEREK]: Exactly.
41:12.604 --> 41:13.004
[DEREK]: Great stuff.
41:13.024 --> 41:13.946
[DEREK]: Thanks, Joe, for your feedback.
41:13.986 --> 41:14.888
[JOHN]: Yeah, thanks, Joe.
41:14.868 --> 41:32.404
[DEREK]: We also got an email in for Coffee of Vogue on this episode, he says, Greasing's fellow Dell-Uge defenders, the more things change the bloodier they remain speaking of a note-to-mark, if you want public opinion to change, try to keep the property damage to a minimum, so much happened within this first episode, but with one underlying message.
41:32.384 --> 41:38.550
[DEREK]: Chaos is going to rain, with or without a filter my presence, and interest in development for that leave.
41:38.890 --> 41:49.559
[DEREK]: I guess that bringing yourself back from near death has its price, and the interlude repulsed discomfort concerning the boys' opinions about his relationship with Debbie was a cute refrain with an episode otherwise fraught with trauma.
41:50.000 --> 42:01.530
[DEREK]: Insures a welcome return of a favorite series off to the next one, five environmental raptors, squished sequels, and missed marks out of five, peace and take care, coffee and vodka.
42:01.510 --> 42:03.172
[JOHN]: great stuff, coffee and vodka.
42:04.253 --> 42:05.094
[JOHN]: Yeah, absolutely.
42:05.134 --> 42:15.204
[JOHN]: I think the the whole thing with Paul is actually a nice little kind of accompanying sort of bit of lightness actually to the whole thing which is really good.
42:15.885 --> 42:21.651
[JOHN]: And yeah, I think you're probably on the button that around chaos is going to rain.
42:21.711 --> 42:23.233
[JOHN]: So let it unfold.
42:23.413 --> 42:27.197
[DEREK]: I say absolutely absolutely looking forward to that.
42:27.177 --> 42:48.257
[JOHN]: yeah thanks coffee and vodka and over on discord Richard Blaise says great to have this back on and in time for me to binge whilst being off work currently nursing a few broken ribs after a nasty car crash well I hope you get better Richard and you're feeling a lot better that sounds painful and glad
42:48.237 --> 43:00.591
[JOHN]: to hear that you are on the recovery road, Richard, and it sounds like it could be a little bit sore with the broken ribs, but here's to a speedy recovery.
43:00.611 --> 43:01.632
[DEREK]: Absolutely absolutely.
43:01.912 --> 43:02.132
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
43:02.152 --> 43:11.162
[DEREK]: Having just just recovering from my fractured ankle, I can imagine what it must be like having to be sitting away from work.
43:11.182 --> 43:13.245
[DEREK]: We're broken ribs trying to crown recovery.
43:13.265 --> 43:13.905
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
43:14.206 --> 43:18.210
[DEREK]: So all the best you Richard, thanks so much for getting the time to send some feedback to
43:18.190 --> 43:22.797
[JOHN]: Definitely, Richard continues, this show never ceases to amaze me.
43:23.037 --> 43:24.539
[JOHN]: Love the secrets coming back.
43:24.860 --> 43:34.374
[JOHN]: Wouldn't have minded if it took a few episodes before they were defeated, but that final punch shows that invincible is trusers word from the end of the last season.
43:34.894 --> 43:37.538
[JOHN]: Has asked me if spent her powers rebuilding herself?
43:37.558 --> 43:40.823
[JOHN]: I've no idea, but it will add to the drama.
43:40.803 --> 43:48.215
[JOHN]: Conquest Escape from his prison you say, was it only Cecil and Donald who believed it would hold him whilst the rest of us guessed you'd get out easily enough?
43:48.736 --> 43:53.183
[JOHN]: Is there a rematch on the cards now straight on to episode 2?
43:53.244 --> 43:56.088
[JOHN]: Thanks Richard for the feedback.
43:56.148 --> 43:57.330
[JOHN]: Yeah, it is interesting.
43:57.390 --> 44:00.195
[JOHN]: That's at the moment kind of what I'm...
44:00.175 --> 44:18.913
[JOHN]: thinking around Adam Eve is that you know all that energy to re resurrect herself, rebuild herself, as you say, and has maybe come out of the cost really, and that she's finding it difficult to provide that building quality to by manipulating the atoms.
44:18.933 --> 44:24.478
[DEREK]: It sort of feels like because yeah, again, in that in the previous the R&UC, how brutal that was.
44:24.838 --> 44:25.319
[DEREK]: Absolutely.
44:25.339 --> 44:27.921
[DEREK]: The destruction of Adam Eve before she came back and
44:27.901 --> 44:28.943
[DEREK]: you know, use your parents.
44:28.963 --> 44:31.850
[DEREK]: So yeah, yeah, I think it must be something like that.
44:31.870 --> 44:39.546
[DEREK]: But I guess we'll see as the episode going on, is there going to be a rematch between conquest and mark like a just-to-base got away with it this time?
44:40.288 --> 44:41.691
[DEREK]: If conquest
44:42.025 --> 44:45.309
[DEREK]: Joins up with anybody else and comes back on mark.
44:46.110 --> 44:47.472
[DEREK]: Yeah, kind of madness.
44:47.872 --> 44:50.035
[DEREK]: It's gonna be pretty brutal, right?
44:50.055 --> 44:53.640
[JOHN]: Yeah, I guess so, but again, I just feel Mark has changed as well.
44:53.840 --> 44:59.527
[JOHN]: So, you know, it's changed him and maybe could be a bit more tactical about it.
44:59.547 --> 45:02.230
[JOHN]: I think, you know, all that kind of, I don't know.
45:02.311 --> 45:06.336
[JOHN]: I suspect there will be a rematch on the cards for sure.
45:06.636 --> 45:10.581
[JOHN]: And I think like yourself, I can always
45:10.561 --> 45:15.407
[JOHN]: I can always have more sacquits, so a few more episodes would have been really good.
45:15.868 --> 45:19.692
[JOHN]: So yeah, on Traps O2 indeed, exactly.
45:19.712 --> 45:21.154
[DEREK]: Good stuff, thanks Richard.
45:21.174 --> 45:29.124
[DEREK]: Absolutely, the final piece of feedback we have for this episode came in from Patrick Lempky over in Facebook, who says, loving the animation boost for this season.
45:29.485 --> 45:30.966
[DEREK]: Everyone seems more expressive.
45:31.287 --> 45:34.170
[DEREK]: I think they got the animation studio for creature commanders this season.
45:34.551 --> 45:35.612
[DEREK]: Well, that's interesting, Patrick.
45:35.632 --> 45:39.437
[DEREK]: I didn't see anything online.
45:39.417 --> 45:56.245
[DEREK]: This is all under the banner of Skyband Animation, the same studio that brought to the comic books of Skyband is where the comics for invincible and the Walking Dead are published, so it's under Skyband Animation that did say there's about 100 animators in the US and about 100 in Korea.
45:56.225 --> 46:03.193
[DEREK]: and the two of them are led by major team leaders who work together to make sure that everything gets its best.
46:03.593 --> 46:20.292
[DEREK]: In this case, I know season three, season four, and season five, we're all commissioned to ram the same time, which is allowing them to develop the show and they're have a lot of budget behind it, given the size of a prime video, and it's a big show for them, so yeah, they're not in the way that
46:20.373 --> 46:36.120
[DEREK]: animation normally goes where you have the first season they put all the budget into it and then the second season that's all stripped back you know they've made jokes about that in the past about stripping back the animation to make the bigger events bigger and you do that in smaller events you have people sitting in a room talking to each other because it's cheap to animate that.
46:36.100 --> 46:43.027
[DEREK]: And in this case, no, they really have, have been boosting it and throwing lots and lots of great animation into the show.
46:43.047 --> 46:50.554
[DEREK]: So, but maybe there's the same show as a DC's, Chris Commander's, the one from James Gunn, Season 1 was, of that was a couple years ago.
