[00:00:00] This is the Invincible Podcast on TV Podcast Industries and we're talking about Invincible Season 2, Episode 6. It's not that simple.

[00:00:30] The world is good. Even when it killed her over and over and over again. Kate never stopped believing that.

[00:00:40] Men encouraged me to do the same.

[00:00:44] Kate Charles was a kindred soul.

[00:01:15] Welcome back fellow Guardians to the Invincible Podcast on TV Podcast Industries. We're talking about Invincible Season 2, Episode 6. It's not that simple but it is that simple because I am when you're host Chris.

[00:01:27] And I'm your other host, Derek. See? Simple. Simple. Simple. Simple.

[00:01:31] Two hosts. We get this done. It's going to be great.

[00:01:34] Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm excited to be back for a second episode of Invincible in the second half of the second season.

[00:01:41] All the two is there.

[00:01:42] Yeah. Two, two, two, two, two. And it's an episode. I do spoiler alert. I like to be here.

[00:01:48] It wasn't really good episode. It was great to see you see what actually happened after the end of Episode 5. I didn't expect what we got in this episode.

[00:01:56] So yeah, very very excited to talk about this one.

[00:01:59] And I really enjoy how they're kind of book ending a lot of this. We kind of these last two could be watched back to back and kind of had a nice neat end beginning in middle and end part of multiple stories.

[00:02:14] And then with the mid credit here, we see how they're going to set up towards a more towards the back end, the final two episodes as we kind of aim into this end of season 2.

[00:02:26] Absolutely. I know I say this a lot with Invincible, but so much goes on in the 40 45 minutes of these episodes or 50 minutes in some cases. So lots going on in each of the episodes lots to talk about.

[00:02:37] So if you haven't subscribed to the podcast though, you can subscribe to the podcast by going over to our website at TV podcast industries.com.

[00:02:54] So lots and lots of stuff from us on TV podcast industries and almost 1000 other episodes as well. Of other stuff you might be interested in, but we also want to hear your thoughts.

[00:03:04] We're recording a little bit of advance for these episodes that we are reading out your thoughts and feedback on the previous episode each week.

[00:03:22] Yes! With all that said and done though, Derek, would you like to tell us who gave us what we're wearing and how with the episode details for this one?

[00:03:30] Of course, yes, the show is created by Robert Kirkman, Corey Walker and Ryan Othley. This episode was written by Vivian Lee. She was a writer on three episodes of the excellent horror mystery show from.

[00:03:40] And three episodes of the Sci-Fi Family Adventure series lost in space. So she has some precedence for Space Sash, drama before and just like comedy in there as well.

[00:03:51] But yeah, the excellent show from have you seen any from it all Chris?

[00:03:54] It's in my to watch bar. I've seen the trailers and I'm like I have to watch this. This looks amazing.

[00:04:02] And it's one of those I have to finish it to get there. I think to be right up your alley we watched, we watched I think the first season in about two days. We just couldn't stop watching it. It's excellent.

[00:04:13] And then the second season is really good as well looking forward to it returning. But yeah, Vivian were three episodes over and that.

[00:04:20] The director of this episode is Sal Choi. Sal directed the first episode of the season invincible as well.

[00:04:25] Yeah, we're keeping it in the family.

[00:04:27] Exactly.

[00:04:28] Exactly.

[00:04:29] Exactly keeping those directors on board always good. Chris, do you want to tell us what they gave us with your synopsis for invincible 206?

[00:04:35] It's not that simple.

[00:04:37] Sure.

[00:04:38] King Lizard quickly puts a bullet in Rack's blood's brain but it's not enough to kill the hero and he quickly beats the lizard leagues leader with everything he has left.

[00:04:49] The GDA arrives just in time to save him and Shrinking Ray. They take them to their facilities to recover along with the bodies and body parts of the dead duplicate.

[00:04:59] Meanwhile, back in space, Shapesmith transforms into a shield to protect Rudy. This gives him enough time to create a device to stop the attacks of the Secrets and free the Human Astronaut Gross Livestan.

[00:05:12] They escape with Rosentoe and the Martian chasing them down, looking to punish Shapesmith for his part in the release of the Secrets.

[00:05:20] Back in Earth, while at the funeral of the duplicate, the immortal realizes that there was something different about their relationship he thought they'd have longer together.

[00:05:30] Amber and Mark are also questioning their relationship and seek outside counsel. Ademee tells Amber that she needs to spend her time she can with Mark.

[00:05:40] While Art, the Super Tailor, tells Mark the exact same thing.

[00:05:46] Later and Mark's home, Debi finds Anani to help with her new alien stepson, who she is named Oliver.

[00:05:56] Even though April the Nani works for the GDA, she convinces Debi that she is their right person for the job.

[00:06:02] The GDA are also responsible for returning William Boyfriend Rick back to his full health after he was turned into a reanime man.

[00:06:10] He's back in college, but is he still the same man he once was?

[00:06:16] While at the back of the Earth, Mark tells him of Anman's advice to read the books he wrote.

[00:06:22] Art gives him a copy of his old poor selling sci-fi novels.

[00:06:27] When Mark reads them, he believes there's something hidden in the books that could help him beat the Vulture Wights.

[00:06:32] His theories confirm when Alan the Alien visits them to try and bring Mark into the Coalition of Planets.

[00:06:38] Alan tells them his father stories are of legendary creatures and planets that might help them turn the tide of the battle against the Vulture Wights.

[00:06:47] Meanwhile, as well as Limston tries to settle back into his apartment after returning from space, a wrote-secret repossessors' body.

[00:06:57] In a secret location deep in space, Alan the Man has not been executed.

[00:07:02] He's being held by the Vultimide Empire.

[00:07:05] If he renounces his ways, he'll be allowed to rejoin the Empire.

[00:07:10] But General Creek believes Earth must be dealt with for their part in changing the formally loyal Vultimide.

[00:07:17] In a mid-credit scene, Angstrom Levi gets all dressed up and travels through many, many universes to meet no friend.

[00:07:26] See, tell them his limits go down.

[00:07:29] There's a lot in this.

[00:07:31] Doesn't feel like it. Again, you just said that the 40 minutes they pack in a lot in these 45 minutes.

[00:07:37] And it's only when you kind of read it all out there.

[00:07:40] You're like, oh, oh, I forgot about that part too.

[00:07:43] Yeah, I forgot about that part too.

[00:07:45] Well, that's why we do this inopsis, of course, to make sure that you don't forget what happened at the episode or which episode we're talking about.

[00:07:50] In case you're watching it at three or five months or ten months or three years after the episodes of air.

[00:07:54] Now, you know exactly what happened in the episode.

[00:07:56] And we're, of course, going to talk about it with our big points from the episode.

[00:08:00] Exactly.

[00:08:01] So let's get into it. Let's get into our top points for this one.

[00:08:06] Top number one.

[00:08:08] Somehow Rex has returned slash survived slash what the he got a hole in his head.

[00:08:14] I will say a huge compliment to them for opening the episode with the trigger pull from King Lizard.

[00:08:21] Because it left an eye of cliffhanger last week and that cliffhanger resolved very quickly this episode.

[00:08:26] But I absolutely just expected they were open in the episode with Rex bloats death after seeing Kate and shrinking Ray die last week.

[00:08:34] I thought they were just opening it with the death of Rex immediately.

[00:08:39] So today, I was sitting in what I can only be described as Abgent terror going.

[00:08:46] Oh, this is a departure from the comic books.

[00:08:49] Oh my god, they're really just going to kill him off.

[00:08:52] Yeah.

[00:08:54] And he does it like and it's a fun.

[00:08:59] It can't feel almost killed, but ask kind of Quentin Tarotino.

[00:09:04] You think the bride is dead. She ain't dead.

[00:09:08] Yeah.

[00:09:09] I enjoy this.

[00:09:10] I have to say, but that hole is a big giant hole.

[00:09:13] Oh, just the fact that every time he talks or moves at spurts even more blood out of his brain right at the hole in the front of his head.

[00:09:20] Anyway, I also like the gag of us Rex bloat is not well known as the smartest tool in the gardens of the globe's chest.

[00:09:29] So having the joke of even the bullet in your brain didn't kill you.

[00:09:33] It was a possibly a nod to him being the least smart of the group.

[00:09:39] So thought that was a little joke they were having on Rex.

[00:09:43] But it is great.

[00:09:44] As it goes on effectively, it looks like he beats King Lizard to death with the stump of his arm and a headbutt from that bullet-ridden head that he gets.

[00:09:57] Now they kind of pull them off from the guards, the cubine kind of pull them off.

[00:10:00] I think before we see King Lizard actually die, Bush.

[00:10:03] He's pretty close.

[00:10:04] He is beating him to a pulp.

[00:10:07] Yeah.

[00:10:08] I'm interested to see if the lizardly comes back once again.

[00:10:13] Like, is this the end or is it just going to be like now?

[00:10:17] Is he because he was beaten so badly he can't use his arms and legs and just kind of slithers on the ground?

[00:10:22] Maybe.

[00:10:23] Is this the latest origin?

[00:10:26] And also just explaining how Rex survives.

[00:10:31] That's the one I was kind of hoping we'd get.

[00:10:33] Right.

[00:10:34] They kind of don't.

[00:10:35] Yeah, they don't mention it at all.

[00:10:37] They just say that he does.

[00:10:39] Because Rex is powering again.

[00:10:41] We've said this before about the peripheral characters within Invincible.

[00:10:47] That unless they are invincible, we don't really guess an explanation of who they are.

[00:10:52] We don't get a real detailed rundown and a parasite.

[00:10:55] We got quite a bit of it with the Ademee special.

[00:10:57] And we definitely think after this episode definitely I want to see Rex blowed special and find out where he came from.

[00:11:04] Who he is.

[00:11:05] What his tires really are more says anything else.

[00:11:08] So I do wonder given that he was featured quite heavily in the Ademee special last season.

[00:11:13] I do wonder if they'll announce that there is already is a Rex blowed special come between season two and season three maybe.

[00:11:19] I think you're on.

[00:11:20] I think I know we discussed it but I think you're on something now after seeing this and seeing how they're changing his ways,

[00:11:27] how they're kind of kind of re zeroed in on him and his survival.

[00:11:32] I'm like, okay, this is the perfect time he's trying to like it can literally be I'll write it right here for Kirkman.

[00:11:40] Like Mr. Kirkman come on over but essentially it's him trying to train to get back to be cleared for duty at the GDA and he's having trouble

[00:11:50] and it's a sit down about how he got his parents so he can dig deep and refine.

[00:11:55] Because he's going to essentially be one armed.

[00:11:58] Yeah, so it's going to be like.

[00:12:00] Well, he's getting his brand new free hand from the GDA as Mark points out later on.

[00:12:04] So that could be an inspector gadget type hand with loads of extra abilities grafted to from the GDA.

[00:12:10] Yeah, you know, it could be something like that.

[00:12:15] Well, we also learned little things about him in the anime movie where he was effectively living with with youth.

[00:12:21] Um, um, on balloons to her parents.

[00:12:23] So we kind of learned a bit about that.

[00:12:25] We learned from this episode when he comes and delivers some home furnishing books to him that he loves them because he doesn't he's never really had a home of his own.

[00:12:35] So there's lots of history there to explore I think we're Rex and they seem to nod to it more for him than for any of the other characters I feel.

[00:12:42] Yeah, so no, I agree.

[00:12:43] Yeah, so that feels like there's they will be setting up something in the future with him but great to see him there because I have to say that opening scene when he gets the bulletin head

[00:12:51] I absolutely thought that was the end and that was the last we never see ever explode.

[00:12:55] It's very game of thrones us.

[00:12:57] And I mean in that it's they're not afraid to kill off these characters.

[00:13:02] So I was like, oh, oh no, maybe he is and that's but part of me goes, but Jason Man Tsukus voices it.

[00:13:12] He's too big.

[00:13:13] They're not going to I'm like, well, no, of course there they're there 100% going to kill off people.

[00:13:18] Yeah.

[00:13:19] So yeah, absolutely happy that he survived.

[00:13:22] Yes, absolutely because you did not expect it and I'm happy to see some of these very cool little details about his life.

[00:13:29] Yeah, absolutely, but also I think it was quite surprising to see that shrinking rate survived as well.

[00:13:34] She crawls out of the neck stump I guess of of Commodore dragon and still shrunken down but it seemed like last week he'd squeezed her to death inside his body

[00:13:46] and we just seen he spat out the blood from inside himself after she died.

[00:13:52] So I was really surprised to see her alive again with this show even when you see them die on screen characters come back.

[00:13:59] So it's so there's nothing like there's nothing and the old adage of comics if he didn't see them died and then I've dead, you know, if he didn't see the funeral then they're not dead.

[00:14:07] This show it seems like even if you see them die on screen they can come back even if you see the funeral they might come back as well.

[00:14:13] So yeah, can't tell at all but it is good to see that not everybody died on that mission.

[00:14:19] No, exactly. Put duplicate did and she is so far dead as a door now.

[00:14:25] Absolutely they do have multiple multiple door nails in a dead door because she can duplicate her door nails.

[00:14:33] Yeah, no, and they have the funeral and it's somewhat nice.

[00:14:38] I didn't like you to get this weird as our listeners have heard weird eulogy by the immortal which is kind of cute, kind of sad, kind of what that.

[00:14:51] Okay, I found it a bit like on the nose in terms of he's that kind of blubbering lover who lost someone as I go, okay, but it is something it is very real if you want to call it that.

[00:15:06] But also still strange because again they've only been dating and for a while.

[00:15:11] Yes, and I like that they have the conversation black sassan and immortal have the conversation about why does he feel this way about duplicates?

[00:15:19] He's had lovers many times he's been around for thousands of years.

[00:15:23] Why would it be duplicate that would cause this problem because he survived the death of lovers before, you know, obviously many times.

[00:15:30] So why duplicate and I think it kind of goes back to the conversation that had last season or the other half of the season where duplicate explained to him that every time one of her duplicates dies, she feels the death.

[00:15:42] And immortal was saying well every time I die even though I can come back from it, I feel the death completely so there's that connection between the two than he may not have had but somebody else before.

[00:15:51] So he felt because he's immortal when he dies and comes back and duplicate keeps coming back over and over again that potentially they could have lived together forever so or for a very long time at least.

[00:16:03] So it's that thing of being impacted by the actual death of someone you thought could never die.

[00:16:10] Yeah, so yeah, so that was a really good conversation and really interesting to see his reaction to her death.

[00:16:18] Yeah, we're seeing the growth of the immortal as a character throughout this.

[00:16:22] So we see him grow in terms of how he dealt with Mark up on the spaceship.

[00:16:30] We see him here discussing the duplicate kind of scenario and we see him kind of start to kind of I don't want to say soften but become a better leader if you want to call it that.

[00:16:42] So let's throw this so it's again showing that the typical character arcs that you think you're going to see in a lot of these shows and it's just not what to expect when it comes to me.

[00:16:54] Exactly, but it is a really good one. I have to say I know we did play the clip off from but that line in the Zoology did make me laugh really hard about duplicates believing the earth was great for even though it keeps killing her over and over and over again.

[00:17:11] I thought that was really good, even though it wasn't meant to the joke.

[00:17:16] It was wordplay. It was meant speaking of the spaceship battle should we move up to point number two? Absolutely.

[00:17:26] So this is very much just all about the guards of the globe saving Rosalyn's and open up on there is big spaceship from the sequins.

[00:17:37] And it's this battle that we do see robot do his thing. We see essentially like robot and even Adam you've guessed kind of retaken, but you see invincible immortal doing their thing coming together, saving the world.

[00:17:55] Learning to work together again, kind of police side differences. Yes very much your superhero trope. Yeah, but it is a very big thing for immortal to admit that marks better and faster than him.

[00:18:09] Again, for those of you don't remember, the mortal has had a huge problem with mark because his father's the one that killed the original guard in the globe including him.

[00:18:18] And so he's always thought he should be the protector of the world when Omni Man came into the picture, he kind of took over that position from the immortal and then killed everybody.

[00:18:28] So he was the spy amongst their myths almost. So a mortal has always felt that he would never let mark into that position because he trusted one person before in that person ended off killing all of his friends and all of his colleagues.

[00:18:42] So, so here this moment where he admits mark is stronger, mark is faster and gives him the weapon that they used to cure us, living and saving is a big moment for a bottle. He wouldn't do that otherwise.

[00:18:55] And we also hear him compliment Eve later on for her part in the work that the guardians do she's not a member of the guardians she's there and he actually compliments her and thanks her for her work.

[00:19:05] Soffering definitely immortal is seems to be so that's a very young to like to know something.

[00:19:13] But that's also very important and again, just to quickly bring it back this is another the big cliffhanger from last episode how are they're going to get out of this and actually they get out of it with the help of shapes, shapesmith using his abilities to create the shield over the two members of the guardians of the globe that can be overtaken by backwards a question that last week as to why all of these heroes were going to space.

[00:19:34] And actually almost everybody that was chosen couldn't have been penetrated by the sequins because they all had armor or their abilities protect them.

[00:19:43] It was only robust and Rudy was inside robot so he couldn't have been attacked and Eve was using her powers to make her own suit of armor effectively.

[00:19:51] But that armor fell off when her powers failed and Rudy was outside robot doing this work so both of them could be attacked and where possessed by the sequins after their plan went.

[00:20:03] And I really just want to call it the animation this one the fight sequence here and even just that last flight by mark just looked fantastic again.

[00:20:15] I probably I probably belabor this to a lot but the actual choreography if you want to call it that the storyboarding of how these fights happen across a lot of the invincible ones.

[00:20:26] So even back where the beginning where we saw the first multiverse and you saw mark and omnimand take down all the heroes beautifully shot and the choice of how they track the shot the storyboard of this again I call it tracking but the camera does move around like them.

[00:20:44] But again it's just how they set up these fights how they all kind of come together and it is for me seeing a comic book come to life.

[00:20:54] Yeah, it's not an animatic just an actual like they have put pen to paper pixel to pixel and really just brought this this fight scenes.

[00:21:05] These things that were very flat to such visceral because you get the blood you get not the goal but you get squishingness of seconds.

[00:21:16] Yes, I think I think Gore is a good word for what you're seeing with all the with all the squishing but I will definitely say I agree with you the animation's great for this show but it's within a certain style as well.

[00:21:26] It isn't supposed to be like the bad batch which is one of the best animated looking shows out there is absolutely beautiful animation and they're all a better detail this show is in a 90s.

[00:21:36] Not these animation style so yeah, so when you see a pack of a million sequins they haven't hand drawn all million of them where you can pick individual features on the sequence.

[00:21:45] They are looking at a mass of pink to represent millions of seconds it's within the style but it's done so well and you write the actual animation and motion of what's happening in these scenes and these fights they're really dynamic they're really well really well put together very exciting.

[00:22:01] Definitely especially probably because you've just come off the death of all the three gardens with low on earth or you think you have coming into this scene you're going oh god who's gonna die up here in space now.

[00:22:13] And it's fun then because the way it does end is like we do see then mark take on the ships as they escape from the Martians well yes again a great conversation great great back and forth between the Martians as they're all running away and they go we thank you so much for saving us but you can't leave here with with shapesmith because he's effectively the killer of our race so we're going to have to we're gonna have to punish him for it mark asks what's that punishment they go we're gonna have to kill them

[00:22:41] and then that's it they're on they're on the spaceship they're on they're running away with all these the Martianships chasing them really good fun

[00:22:48] And then but even just seeing how marks take the one point he just goes literally vertical and then just drops down through

[00:22:55] and then stops and is like all right time for you to go and then just kind of win goes down back through the bottom.

[00:23:01] It's what do you expect from a Superman almost taking it like fighter planes exactly exactly it was great to see yeah

[00:23:08] but we thought that was the end of the sequence mm-hmm later in the show we do see the regurgitation of a

[00:23:17] second so the second now or back on earth along with the the the the one's glorious and slightly better astronauts

[00:23:28] a poor Roslifings and I feel so sorry for me gets back to his apartment that shapes but it's been living in a destroying

[00:23:34] for the last few months trying to clean it up and then throws up and gets repossessed by a by a

[00:23:40] sacred so we had a base an hour of not being controlled by the backwards I love again

[00:23:47] love that moment when he's in the I think it's in the GDA headquarters where they're taking care of him in hospital

[00:23:53] anyway and he just goes they just won't let me sleep they never let me sleep they never sleep so I didn't sleep

[00:23:58] but it looks like it's been a year where he's just been wide awake the whole time seeing what's going on

[00:24:04] so he looks very very put upon and then as I say getting back to the apartment and seeing it trashed as well

[00:24:09] so he's not having a good life for our roasts no and I did think this was a dream yeah I was expecting that kind of

[00:24:15] jolt kind of startled away can say oh it was all fine but no like the sequence

[00:24:22] of their their hair and they're going to slowly repopulate the earth yeah maybe yeah it's it's shocking

[00:24:30] because yeah we heard all about the fact that there's a there are a union mind so once one is

[00:24:35] attached to roast living still again the rest of them are awakened the rest of them know what's happening

[00:24:39] so yeah I guess they're gonna draw them down to earth and they could be possessing humans left right and center

[00:24:45] from now on so that's a big deal especially because of how overwhelmed the Guardians of

[00:24:52] Loeb were on on the spaceship so I guess it's not going to be much better when they spread out across the

[00:24:58] planet interesting thread to follow until season three for that maybe maybe yeah all of a sudden

[00:25:04] they'll encounter a massive group of of of second possessed humans on earth that would be interesting

[00:25:11] it will be I'm interested to see how that future goes forward but do you know the future may not

[00:25:18] be going for well yeah our point number three amber mark and their relationship I enjoyed this

[00:25:26] this is very much that kind of you'd expect to see you said this the style of these this fight

[00:25:34] and we cartoon is very 90's and thousands this is almost what you see in a sitcom from the 90's

[00:25:40] 90's and thousands where it cuts between two conversations and it's one singular conversation

[00:25:47] in terms of the same thing being said about the thing I enjoyed how this put together

[00:25:55] and what it is essentially saying is that yeah these two are not destined to be together

[00:26:00] to should yeah if they try but a bit working but they just don't think it's right

[00:26:06] it's probably not going to end well yeah it's an odd one isn't it's both of them are

[00:26:12] frustrated in their relationship but feel they can't be frustrated because Marx is super

[00:26:17] here and he's saving people so yeah so effectively amber is going to go well I can't complain about it

[00:26:22] I can't complain about him not being here because he's saving human like how how

[00:26:26] I'd best would I be if I say you left me a dinner on my own because you had to go and save

[00:26:31] 100 people on the other side of the planet you know how awful would it be if I said that to him

[00:26:35] and but it's I think the advice they both guess is just make time for each other

[00:26:39] if you don't make time for each other then you can't possibly be together right so yeah

[00:26:43] but it is so well cut together like that Mark goes to talk to ours seems like an odd person

[00:26:49] to go to talk to for him he does have a different to talk to Bush William probably not the best

[00:26:54] relationship advice at the moment and Amber is going to go and will Williams Mark's friends

[00:27:00] I can't really talk to him so she goes to talk to Eve who's also a superhero who has only

[00:27:04] had one relationship in her life so she's not exactly right relationships savvy Bush it was

[00:27:09] interesting that those choices were whether ones that were made and both of them gave

[00:27:12] the same advice to each party and the way it was added together was really good

[00:27:17] I like art art for me is good choice because he's so used to he's human and so used to kind of dealing with superheroes

[00:27:24] and we know that he was very close to Omni Mano Debbie yeah

[00:27:28] and he's even like been over to see Debbie since yeah Omni Mano's last true

[00:27:33] and it's also Mark Ham also anyway to squeeze Mark Hamlin to the show

[00:27:37] it's always good even Amber yeah I agree with that one that was this like no she should have just gone to

[00:27:45] one of her girlfriends that it should have been a conversation about like he's saving kids in Africa

[00:27:52] type thing and it's like this really bad lie I enjoy how I can for me it was the editing

[00:27:59] it was just how that conversation was brought together but it's a big point in that

[00:28:04] this makes spell the end by the end of the season for this relationship

[00:28:09] they may not know and in me end amicably may not yeah I feel like there's quite a lot of nods in this episode

[00:28:19] about what's happening what could happen in the future you know we see the hug between Eve

[00:28:25] and Mark after they've survived the Martian attack and Mark gets a little red in the face

[00:28:30] and gets a bit happy about the hug I guess and then we hear when Rex blowd tells Eve

[00:28:35] that Mark and Amber's relationship is and she asks him to explain further that we see Eve might be very interested in an idea

[00:28:43] that's the Amber and Mark might have broken up so I think it's pretty likely we're going to see the two of them together at some point in the future

[00:28:49] yes but who who knows it makes it makes the world a lot less complex if both of you are a superhero as a relationship

[00:28:56] I presume yes but of course you should know that but then it says not of course you wouldn't you've got a secret identity

[00:29:03] don't reveal my secret identity Chris and the John is also superhero yes I don't think editing a podcast is a super parrho

[00:29:11] though you find you find time in the day where there's no time in the day yeah it's a super power that the only pair I have is the

[00:29:18] Superman pair of turning back the planet to turn back just by running really fast but it is a really big thing again

[00:29:26] I like how maturely they write the story of Amber and Mark's relationship it's not as simple as she will always be there and wait for

[00:29:37] him she does have to have questions and question whether she's allowed to be frustrated in a relationship where her partner is a superhero

[00:29:45] I really like that I think that's a you know I don't often call this type of show mature but it is mature in its own way as well

[00:29:52] so it's really good yeah I did like that scenes to move on to our final point yes yes our final major point because

[00:29:59] Alan is coming home back to earth if he can find the way he tells question himself what he's really standing above earth

[00:30:07] doesn't he's kind of going all right I'm here now it was a wrath that he was supposed to be monitoring and that's why he was

[00:30:14] above earth in season one that sounds self-mark met the first time but here he is above this entire planet going where did Mark say he lives

[00:30:21] again I know I find him now and it's a it's immortal that comes in confronts him because immortal is really angry about what

[00:30:28] happened wants to go at point something and come straight out of the space when he hears the alien presence

[00:30:33] out there to try and beat the crap out of Alan yeah and this gives off some of the best comedic energy pure

[00:30:41] Seth Road in that like you get this that the two-way telepathic communication works two ways yes like we can't have a three-way

[00:30:49] conversation and it's just like I love I love frustrated immortals got a with the idea that this guy can

[00:30:58] talk into his brain he's like my mind as if he's controlling it rather than just being able to talk to but that was

[00:31:04] really good again this kind of repeat of the mistaken identity of the first time Alan was there at

[00:31:10] the moment where I can now he's fighting with immortal while Mark is trying to calm down immortal again they don't have the

[00:31:15] greatest relationship either but eventually he does come down a mortal and tell him who Alan is and get some back to the planet.

[00:31:22] Yeah and then we do get this fun reveal all about the books that Armley Man was writing yes of course because

[00:31:35] Mark had a copy of the other set of books so we were joking about the direction that came from

[00:31:41] Armley Man to to invincible to go and read his travel books and maybe he'd find it some secrets information hidden within

[00:31:48] the travel books it was the travel books it was the sci-fi books that Nolan had written when he was when he was

[00:31:53] a bit younger and that didn't sell really well because true sci-fi doesn't sell very well apparently no sci-fi

[00:32:02] but that's your game of threads no this was for the secrets it's a complete difference

[00:32:08] unless your star wars related or star track release yes this was fun because you get to see that they like

[00:32:17] it actually all fact that Nolan was just writing a bag like planets and things that could potentially

[00:32:28] hurt the Vulgements there were his reports back to the Vulgement Empire yes that's the seems like so these were kind of his

[00:32:35] reports come added with so we saw the the space writer and with his gun that can take on anything

[00:32:44] destroy anything yes we saw this pack of a ferro animals but because of the gravity on that planet

[00:32:54] their talons and kind of beaks or mouths could tear into Vulgements skin the Ragnar yes yeah

[00:33:03] so just really fun seeing what starts as kind of very stylized childish kind of sci-fi pop twist to

[00:33:16] what actual the truth is exactly and it also felt like little mini-sodes in the middle of the

[00:33:22] Invisible show because you have the actual while marks reading the story you have the visualization of the story itself

[00:33:29] being shown on screen I like that of course Nolan is the protagonist as well and in both of these he's the one visiting

[00:33:36] the planet he's the main character so they have have are able to have Nolan in there but yes there's two new weapons

[00:33:43] that have been found here the infinity ray which could potentially damage Vulgements and the Ragnar

[00:33:50] that if you could weaponize them in some way they could rip apart a Vulgements yeah interesting

[00:33:57] I love how this was done I love how it came together it wasn't like it's in it it's a fun way of

[00:34:04] showing not just kind of like hey go on this quest to find these five things

[00:34:11] it's like hey read this book that stylized into 1960 pop sci-fi and try and discover the meaning

[00:34:18] so I think we'll get more of it as we see towards the end of this episode that Nolan's alive

[00:34:27] he is not dead he is being held on the Vulgements deep prison or deep space prison

[00:34:35] yeah and it's being told to he's fully healed but he's being told to kind of repent

[00:34:44] come back to the Vulgements aren't the empire and be part of us because they're going to take down Earth

[00:34:51] absolutely and it is a really interesting quirk of the Vulgements isn't it that they do believe

[00:34:55] they are Nazis they are space Nazis they do believe that they are the master race

[00:34:59] and the one thing that they can't abide is killing another Vulgements for whatever reason

[00:35:05] so even though Nolan turned on them even though Nolan went against them even though Nolan tried to kill

[00:35:11] other Vulgements they are going if you just repent now you'll be able to rejoin the empire

[00:35:18] you know they took him back to sentence and to death that's what we were told

[00:35:22] that's what Mark was told he's going to die you have to take over his mission because he's going to be put to death

[00:35:27] but here they are again extending the hand to him saying well you can just repent and come back into the empire

[00:35:34] Nolan doesn't say anything of course because he just wanted to go back into the empire

[00:35:38] he's made his choice and lost a lot of family and friends because of it

[00:35:43] but I find it really interesting that they still are willing to extend to him

[00:35:49] and there is just a little bit of a touch made from General Krieg where he's saying that if Earth is the planet

[00:35:57] that changed Nolan this way and turned him against the Vulgements empire that they need to pay

[00:36:03] so I don't know whether we're going to see the Vultramites coming to Earth and becoming the leaders of Earth

[00:36:10] whether they're just going to come down and just destroy it and go full on attack or after that comment

[00:36:15] I'm going full on attack it's essentially it is man of steel level here where you get a little tonions coming down

[00:36:24] and destroying the world

[00:36:27] Yes, yeah I think so

[00:36:29] Yeah, but it's a again another big cliffhanger to leave the episode on

[00:36:36] Yeah, that's what they do. Well they know how to set this up because you are now investing

[00:36:42] what's going to happen but that kind of concludes the majority of the episode

[00:36:46] as side from the mid credits

[00:36:49] Exactly the return of Angstrom Levy

[00:36:52] He is alive and returning home to visit an old friend I don't know why I just got flashes of had a

[00:36:59] electric the end of sounds the lambs I'm having an old friend for dinner

[00:37:03] there's something about the villainous side of Angstrom Levy when he's getting all

[00:37:08] suited and boosted to go through multiple dimensions to get back to where he came from originally

[00:37:14] the dimension he came from originally to go and visit an old friend

[00:37:17] and don't know look to believe it to me

[00:37:20] 100% he's going after invincible

[00:37:22] Yeah, yes

[00:37:23] Invincible is the cause of his multi brain

[00:37:27] his back brain, his side brain, his up brain

[00:37:31] so I like this

[00:37:35] this is setting up the next two episodes I think

[00:37:39] the next big battle

[00:37:41] and if it going to do the storyline piece I think it is

[00:37:49] I can't wait

[00:37:52] Okay, interesting

[00:37:53] Because okay, the only thing I'll say in the no spoilers

[00:37:57] you've seen the multiverse

[00:37:59] we've seen what happens when the

[00:38:05] the the smaller twins are pulled in

[00:38:09] imagine multiple things being pulled

[00:38:13] Yeah, yeah

[00:38:15] like we know what could happen

[00:38:17] like we've seen multiple spider-man fighting against evil

[00:38:20] I can't wait to see if they potentially do that here

[00:38:23] Yeah, that's entirely possible if you see loads of different versions of our

[00:38:27] our major characters

[00:38:29] it could at least bring back duplicate some way right

[00:38:32] exactly that's the thing

[00:38:34] another multiverse or in the universe

[00:38:36] yeah, and you see how easy it is

[00:38:38] for Langstrom here as well

[00:38:40] he literally is just walking through multiple different universes

[00:38:44] to pass back to where he wants to get to

[00:38:46] so it is very very easy for him

[00:38:48] it's not like he's

[00:38:50] he has to relax or rest up

[00:38:52] after doing one trip to another multiverse

[00:38:54] so yeah that could be really interesting

[00:38:56] no it's going to get fun

[00:38:58] but that brings us to the end

[00:39:00] yes yeah

[00:39:02] do you have any notes

[00:39:04] there are a couple of notes because there's a couple of things that happen in the episode

[00:39:06] Rick's back

[00:39:08] what?

[00:39:10] what?

[00:39:12] after being reanaman back in season one

[00:39:14] he suddenly reappears on campus

[00:39:16] and was allowed to go back to college

[00:39:18] he seems like he's still a little bit off

[00:39:20] and I guess it's quite interesting

[00:39:22] that it's Donald that brings him back

[00:39:24] to the campus as well

[00:39:26] because Donald is still having his own issues

[00:39:28] with being having a replicated body

[00:39:30] and he's trying to explain to William that

[00:39:32] he's had massive reconstructive surgery

[00:39:34] from being reanaman in season one

[00:39:38] but you can tell you can see

[00:39:40] there's a moment when you see his hand

[00:39:42] twitch in reaction to the work that's been done for Rick

[00:39:46] so it's interesting I wonder

[00:39:48] will Rick be the same

[00:39:50] will he be the same person that William

[00:39:52] remembers?

[00:39:54] yeah or will we get very much

[00:39:56] exactly

[00:39:58] re re reanaman

[00:40:00] re re re reanaman

[00:40:02] yeah I've been interested to see

[00:40:04] how they kind of pulled this one together

[00:40:06] yeah and what comes from it

[00:40:08] again it's nice

[00:40:10] I think they could have dropped this thread

[00:40:12] known wood of carrot but the fact they're bringing it back

[00:40:14] means I think there's something for Rick

[00:40:16] well absolutely

[00:40:18] and at least William gets something to do now as well

[00:40:20] yeah and then we should call out that we actually

[00:40:22] have a name now for Mark's half brother

[00:40:24] called Oliver which I know you've been

[00:40:26] resisting saying for a for a

[00:40:28] about a season necklace

[00:40:30] a couple of episodes

[00:40:32] you've been resisting mentioning his name but it's good to be able to have his name now

[00:40:34] so when we mention Oliver in the future

[00:40:36] that's Mark's half brother

[00:40:38] much easier and named after Debbie's father

[00:40:40] yes yeah

[00:40:42] and again nice call out

[00:40:44] and yeah I've been resisting because it's

[00:40:46] Ollie is called out so often in the comic books

[00:40:50] oh yeah

[00:40:52] yep just don't say his name exactly

[00:40:54] how's it going next to the show yet so we're not going to say it

[00:40:56] but there is an interesting arc that's going on there

[00:41:00] with Mark's mom Debbie having to take care of

[00:41:02] Oliver this kind of adopted

[00:41:04] child of her of her ex-husband I guess

[00:41:08] and she is being

[00:41:10] I suppose almost browbeaten to guess

[00:41:12] Anani that's related to the GDA

[00:41:16] and she can see instantly through anybody

[00:41:18] that's being said to her door

[00:41:20] that they're probably from the GDA

[00:41:22] until Alice arrives the new Nanny for Oliver

[00:41:24] and the person that she accepts for the job

[00:41:26] who walks through the door and instantly goes

[00:41:28] look I work for the GDA

[00:41:30] I know everything about it but

[00:41:32] I have the skills that you need

[00:41:34] I'm on the level here

[00:41:36] you now are fully aware of who I am

[00:41:38] and I work for you number one

[00:41:40] I am here to take care of the child

[00:41:42] I'm using the skills that I have to take care

[00:41:44] of the child and be free of

[00:41:46] all of my obligations

[00:41:48] in any other way so

[00:41:50] I thought that was quite interesting

[00:41:52] so we have a new Nanny coming in to take care of Oliver

[00:41:54] yeah and I can't wait to see

[00:41:56] hopefully we get at least a scene

[00:41:58] or two of this where you're going to get

[00:42:00] the

[00:42:02] I thought that I had

[00:42:04] kind of

[00:42:06] it's going to be like that normal 1980s Nanny

[00:42:08] bit where like the Nanny is trying

[00:42:10] to look after a kid and it's all going crazy

[00:42:12] but here now you get a kid with super-hero

[00:42:14] powers yes I'm getting flashes of

[00:42:16] the incredible

[00:42:18] yes exactly

[00:42:20] the baby with multiple different powers

[00:42:22] as they start to come out

[00:42:24] yeah I do wonder if Oliver will get

[00:42:26] the powers quicker than Mark got them because

[00:42:28] Mark didn't get them till he was about 16

[00:42:30] that's we got in the first episode of the season

[00:42:32] so of the show

[00:42:34] so that's quite interesting

[00:42:36] can we see that?

[00:42:38] one final call that I just wanted

[00:42:40] to say that I really liked

[00:42:42] where Cecil is trying to convince

[00:42:44] Debbie to allow him to take

[00:42:46] to take the kid into the GDA

[00:42:48] and she goes well can't have a child grow up in

[00:42:52] a government agency and he all he says

[00:42:54] his only response is well we paint

[00:42:56] clouds on the ceiling for the kids

[00:42:58] not even like there's a play area

[00:43:00] they're minded all the time by well trained

[00:43:02] professionals they paint

[00:43:04] clouds on the ceiling for the kids

[00:43:06] so they basically will be going into prison

[00:43:08] like all of the other prison

[00:43:10] islands that we see in the GDA

[00:43:12] but they'll just have plates on the ceiling

[00:43:14] to look at you look cute

[00:43:16] the clouds won't move

[00:43:18] but look here exactly

[00:43:20] so what did you think Chris on this episode?

[00:43:22] which is the overall

[00:43:24] I talked about the animation of the fight style

[00:43:28] I talked about the editing

[00:43:30] for the compensation mark

[00:43:32] Mark and Amber

[00:43:34] just overall it's fun to see

[00:43:36] how they are bringing these stories together

[00:43:38] and somewhere kind of happening

[00:43:40] a lot quicker than I expected

[00:43:42] somewhere happening a lot slower

[00:43:44] but I'm very interested to see where we get

[00:43:46] to in these final two episodes

[00:43:48] and I think they'll set up something big

[00:43:52] in the next one

[00:43:54] and then give us a really big finale again

[00:43:56] like they did

[00:43:58] senti last season

[00:44:00] where I still see people talk about that

[00:44:02] training

[00:44:04] so it's going to be interesting

[00:44:06] absolutely

[00:44:08] yeah really enjoy this episode

[00:44:10] it's just got a good balance

[00:44:12] of everything I think

[00:44:14] as I say it opening with Rex bow

[00:44:16] getting shot on the head

[00:44:18] and then it's still him still being alive

[00:44:20] having the funeral of duplicate

[00:44:22] I thought it was very somber

[00:44:24] and thought it was interesting

[00:44:26] having the development of the immortal

[00:44:28] and what his relationship is

[00:44:30] with duplicates

[00:44:32] and her death

[00:44:34] and I guess of Amber and Mark

[00:44:36] or potential breakup of Amber and Mark

[00:44:38] is something that was quite central

[00:44:40] in the episode and important to do

[00:44:42] and then yeah the the sequels are on earth

[00:44:44] they found weapons

[00:44:46] to go against the Viltramites

[00:44:48] so much that's going on in this episode

[00:44:50] and so much that we probably even missed talking about

[00:44:52] but really interesting setup

[00:44:54] but still very big moments

[00:44:56] and still a really enjoyable episode

[00:44:58] they're doing really well for me this season

[00:45:00] love us

[00:45:02] and do you else might be loving the two

[00:45:04] are a fellow guardians

[00:45:06] because we're going to move into our feedback section

[00:45:08] yes Rihara yeah

[00:45:10] our feedback on episode 5

[00:45:12] Chris forgot an email in from coffee and vodka

[00:45:14] yes coffee vodka had this to say

[00:45:16] greetings fellow overwhelmed defenders

[00:45:18] well gosh

[00:45:20] I guess a mental back too

[00:45:22] watching and writing before listening

[00:45:24] to the pod will do my best

[00:45:26] not to duplicate any comments

[00:45:28] speaking of Kate wow

[00:45:30] was happy to finally see the team in action

[00:45:32] should have known

[00:45:34] with Kirkman getting what you want

[00:45:36] isn't necessarily getting what you want

[00:45:38] Kate and Ray being taken out by a single body

[00:45:40] who would have taken a Rex as well

[00:45:42] before a fluke of body's stupidity

[00:45:46] if he survives maybe he can get a new name

[00:45:48] as well as new hand

[00:45:50] I mean Pyrex was right there

[00:45:54] how many or few

[00:45:56] will survive the second space fight

[00:45:58] is anyone's guess

[00:46:00] why do so many teams vie for a place on the Guardians team

[00:46:02] when fatalities are possible

[00:46:04] to the point of probable

[00:46:06] and other folks like to compare

[00:46:08] invincible to the boys

[00:46:10] when huge differences that there are few heroes

[00:46:12] on the boys

[00:46:14] would be willing to fill out their guardians' ranks

[00:46:16] that's probably true

[00:46:18] yeah no but that's definitely true

[00:46:20] coffee went on to say

[00:46:22] also great to see Mark and Eve again

[00:46:24] even great to see Alan

[00:46:26] and his new beach pod

[00:46:28] welcome back and invincible

[00:46:30] you've been missed

[00:46:32] five purple baby diaper dumpers

[00:46:34] whole-headed X-Rexes

[00:46:36] and non-secreted

[00:46:38] out of five peace and take care

[00:46:40] coffee and vodka

[00:46:42] thanks coffee and vodka

[00:46:44] god these 4 out of 5

[00:46:46] out of 5 are getting tough

[00:46:48] like they're tongue twisters on their own

[00:46:50] I probably had to do a 5 takes on that one

[00:46:52] I'm so glad you're happy

[00:46:54] everything's back

[00:46:56] yeah

[00:46:58] I kept the feeling that it's the same

[00:47:00] a lot of people are like

[00:47:02] happy is back

[00:47:04] giving them what they wanted

[00:47:06] not what they really wanted but

[00:47:08] like it's what they wanted

[00:47:10] or what they wanted

[00:47:12] but then there's the battles

[00:47:14] it's the monkeys pod

[00:47:16] you get what you want

[00:47:18] but it's with the price

[00:47:20] exactly well that's also invincible

[00:47:22] and then they could be dead by the end of the episode

[00:47:24] and there could be a live back next episode

[00:47:26] but maybe not either

[00:47:28] but it's great also to have coffee

[00:47:30] vodka back and he's not listening

[00:47:32] along to show gun

[00:47:34] and he's not watching the bad batch

[00:47:36] they're so great to have a coffee

[00:47:38] vodka back with his thoughts about invincible as well

[00:47:40] lots more shows coming up this year

[00:47:42] as you know

[00:47:44] so there'll be lots more for you to listen to

[00:47:46] too it is really interesting point

[00:47:48] though we always compare invincible

[00:47:50] by its on our boys feed for TV

[00:47:52] podcast industries as well but

[00:47:54] the reason for that is more to do with the blood

[00:47:56] of the violence and the adult content

[00:47:58] but absolutely there are no

[00:48:00] heroes in the boys

[00:48:02] so none of them be willing to stand up

[00:48:04] for something like Guardians of the Globe

[00:48:06] who actually take care of problems

[00:48:08] in the world

[00:48:10] they're always set up to go after what the peor team

[00:48:12] think would be good for their peor

[00:48:14] so that's not the Guardians of the Globe

[00:48:16] the Guardians of the Globe

[00:48:18] and on any given mission

[00:48:20] hey remember

[00:48:22] Rex Blow thought he was just going to have a peat and ice

[00:48:24] because the rest of the team were going

[00:48:26] off to take care of the big

[00:48:28] challenge that they had

[00:48:30] and end off killing

[00:48:32] well we thought at the end of that episode

[00:48:34] killing three members of the team

[00:48:36] and yeah seeing Kate and Ray being taken

[00:48:38] out by this baddie

[00:48:40] episode five was shocking

[00:48:42] I think is probably the best thing

[00:48:44] I don't think

[00:48:46] is very true

[00:48:48] as you've seen in episode six

[00:48:50] like

[00:48:52] Rex is less fluky

[00:48:54] I think he's just

[00:48:56] I don't say lucky

[00:48:58] because that's very fluky

[00:49:00] but probably more just

[00:49:02] there's something that's going to reason

[00:49:04] he can survive with a hole in the head

[00:49:06] but yeah

[00:49:08] yeah excellent stuff

[00:49:10] thanks so much coffee bucket

[00:49:12] thanks coffee bucket

[00:49:14] like Donald has gone the Cliff Steal

[00:49:16] Robothman path since he's only

[00:49:18] a brain in the metallic body

[00:49:20] Debbie's boss was totally hit a

[00:49:22] galler somebody called Toby Flanderson

[00:49:24] because here's the H or Violation

[00:49:26] and the works I'm curious if Kate's death

[00:49:28] is going to stick these characters

[00:49:30] have come back from worse

[00:49:32] my guess is that the reason we're not seeing

[00:49:34] Mark have these conversations on screen

[00:49:36] is because part of the info given

[00:49:38] out is not all of us

[00:49:40] he's possibly keeping the

[00:49:42] there are huge ramifications for it if you don't do it to himself

[00:49:46] until he can process it and find a way to avoid the exact icon that's coming

[00:49:50] I wonder where those books ended up

[00:49:52] I like the small scene with the eve Rex

[00:49:54] leading to the comics that there is more beneath his Rex for sad

[00:49:56] because it exists

[00:49:58] because of trauma

[00:50:00] and their relationship was basically trauma bonding

[00:50:02] well that's interesting, Merrill

[00:50:04] so yeah that little nod there maybe

[00:50:06] to some of Rex's history

[00:50:08] in this episode I'm feeling more and more

[00:50:10] we need to see a Rex bloat spin off

[00:50:12] episode to get more of that back to her

[00:50:14] or we'll get an eve and Rex

[00:50:16] kind of the early years

[00:50:18] type thing before season one

[00:50:22] and that will give us some of the background too

[00:50:26] yeah exactly that's kind of what I think is going to

[00:50:30] they would do as the next movie

[00:50:32] like the anime special I came out

[00:50:34] I don't know where that was announced

[00:50:36] and then released for the same week wasn't it so

[00:50:38] yeah so we could be having a Rex bloat

[00:50:40] wouldn't coming up that's my feeling anyway

[00:50:46] I think that's a really good theory on why

[00:50:48] Mark is keeping it to himself or we're not seeing on screen

[00:50:50] that he has this big job now to take up

[00:50:52] he's just trying to find a way to avoid it

[00:50:54] and maybe if he can find any weapon

[00:50:56] that he can find to get the Viltrumites

[00:50:58] maybe he doesn't have to take up

[00:51:00] that position that his dad had on earth

[00:51:02] hopefully hopefully I

[00:51:04] I expose will no into two episodes

[00:51:06] we may less than two hours

[00:51:08] yeah we may not know until the end of season five

[00:51:10] or something Chris

[00:51:12] can change the speed at which things are delivered as well

[00:51:16] so we may not know for quite a while

[00:51:18] and just a little nod

[00:51:20] for those who may not have gotten this

[00:51:22] because I didn't

[00:51:24] I must admit Merrill

[00:51:26] Merrill says Toby Flanderson call him

[00:51:28] because it's H or Violation

[00:51:30] that's character in the American version of the office

[00:51:32] which I've never watched

[00:51:34] well I watched one episode or two episodes

[00:51:36] but I had no idea who Toby Flanderson was

[00:51:38] so he's the H or Manager in the office

[00:51:40] oh

[00:51:42] there you go that was a good one

[00:51:44] my message would be very happy

[00:51:46] that someone else has called it actually

[00:51:48] I have watched it but begrudging me

[00:51:50] because it's on the background

[00:51:52] right right I think I've only ever seen all the episodes

[00:51:54] of the UK office

[00:51:56] which I like a lot

[00:51:58] Bush and didn't connect to the American one

[00:52:00] I hear each to their own

[00:52:02] each to their

[00:52:04] thank you so much Merrill for the feedback

[00:52:06] thanks Merrill that's head on over to Facebook Chris

[00:52:08] yes first up we have some feedback

[00:52:10] from Patrick Lemke

[00:52:12] who had this to say very emotional episode for sure

[00:52:14] although some of the animation was kind of choppy

[00:52:16] especially in one part towards the end

[00:52:18] where it shouldn't have been

[00:52:20] the show still has some great animations

[00:52:22] but that seemed look like to me

[00:52:24] at least

[00:52:26] it was trying to be a Junji Edo

[00:52:28] I didn't quite reach it

[00:52:30] great episode regardless but that moment was my main complaint

[00:52:32] thanks Patrick

[00:52:34] I had to look this one up

[00:52:36] because honestly I did know who Junji Edo was

[00:52:40] I actually thought it was

[00:52:42] like almost like a bleach reference or something like that

[00:52:44] but for those who

[00:52:46] aren't aware Junji Edo is

[00:52:48] a kind of Japanese horror manga artist

[00:52:52] who's well known for a lot of things

[00:52:54] and there's like some great

[00:52:56] if you like manga maybe go on to

[00:53:00] IGN they were

[00:53:02] article from September last year

[00:53:04] where it's like the top 13

[00:53:06] best stories he's ever done

[00:53:08] so definitely big enough that he's getting

[00:53:10] mystical and IGN

[00:53:12] and that'd be thing but definitely once

[00:53:14] I had side my wheelhouse

[00:53:16] yeah but I suppose

[00:53:18] the point I guess towards the end of the

[00:53:20] episode is in the first episode

[00:53:22] there is kind of some horror moments going on

[00:53:24] so I almost admit I didn't notice the

[00:53:26] chopinus in the animation

[00:53:28] but yeah they may have been taking

[00:53:30] reference from some other forms

[00:53:32] of horror animation to

[00:53:34] tell that tale of what's happening

[00:53:36] to the characters in there

[00:53:38] so I'm not sure

[00:53:40] I got the same chopinus

[00:53:42] feeling or it's still

[00:53:44] like to me because as I said before I know they have their certain style

[00:53:46] of animation for invincible

[00:53:48] and they're taking inspiration from certain types

[00:53:50] of animation from the 90s

[00:53:52] so it's interesting that you say that

[00:53:54] it didn't kind of hit the level

[00:53:56] that you would have expected from the show there Patrick

[00:53:58] yeah but glad you enjoyed the overall

[00:54:00] episode them yeah same here and I'm glad

[00:54:02] that it's literally one main complaint

[00:54:04] only complaint is not a bad thing

[00:54:06] hopefully you found episode six

[00:54:08] better and there was no chopinus

[00:54:10] absolutely absolutely thanks Patrick

[00:54:12] thanks Patrick our final piece of feedback comes in

[00:54:14] on facebook from dr bob philips who says

[00:54:16] your right Alan the alien

[00:54:18] I did think you were dead

[00:54:20] shouldn't come as a surprise given everything else of this

[00:54:22] episode I do like being drawn

[00:54:24] down uncomfortable sidelines of the superhero tropes

[00:54:26] the consequences of mark being gone the

[00:54:28] possibility of workplace romance

[00:54:30] and estate agentry

[00:54:32] and the challenge of feeding alien

[00:54:34] toddlers are threads I'll be interested

[00:54:36] to follow will Colin

[00:54:38] let's just give his brother another name

[00:54:40] to be mispronounced by the show

[00:54:42] spread spread head accessories

[00:54:44] at pubic she perhaps

[00:54:46] who interesting dr bob so

[00:54:48] our little new baby Oliver

[00:54:50] as he's called out which is a

[00:54:52] calm mispronounced that right

[00:54:54] so let's see if he grows

[00:54:56] little tentacles as he gets into his teenage years

[00:55:00] to match the to match his bug

[00:55:02] upbringing or his bug as bug berth

[00:55:04] yeah that would be fun

[00:55:06] there's just two

[00:55:08] little kind of

[00:55:10] two little and ten i

[00:55:12] just kind of twitching around

[00:55:14] worst case he gets mandibles

[00:55:16] then you get into like the body

[00:55:18] horror of the fly yeah

[00:55:20] yeah potentially i like

[00:55:22] dr bob's little gag there

[00:55:24] it would be pronounced colon on this show

[00:55:26] like the pronounce Cecil

[00:55:28] which has been a bug bear of dr bob since

[00:55:30] the beginning of the series that they pronounce Cecil

[00:55:32] why he's like you saying Cecil

[00:55:34] oh yeah I say it every time

[00:55:36] we have to edit it every time every

[00:55:38] episode get it back to

[00:55:40] Cecil and for your right

[00:55:42] there is lots and lots going on

[00:55:44] talked about the challenge of feeding

[00:55:46] alien toddlers we did find out in this episode

[00:55:48] that Debbie has learned she has to chew

[00:55:50] the food of

[00:55:52] all of her before feeding him

[00:55:54] because their species don't have any enzymes to break down food

[00:55:58] so she can't feed them any earth food

[00:56:00] she has to chew it first and spit it into his mouth

[00:56:02] like a bug

[00:56:04] and she's just getting used to that name

[00:56:06] oh

[00:56:08] tasty yeah i'm with

[00:56:10] i'm with mark here

[00:56:12] let's hope his

[00:56:14] abilities come in sooner rather than

[00:56:16] lighter so he may be able to use those abilities to break down the food

[00:56:18] he just pumbles

[00:56:20] it's more on that

[00:56:22] pumbles is at this place a few times before he's

[00:56:24] thanks dr bob

[00:56:26] absolutely thanks

[00:56:28] everybody for your feedback so far

[00:56:54] i'm not going anywhere

[00:56:56] that's the name of the

[00:56:58] episode we are going somewhere

[00:57:00] we're gonna be going over

[00:57:02] and covering the final season

[00:57:04] of star wars bodbatch

[00:57:06] as we're doing right now

[00:57:08] along with as Derek said

[00:57:10] the boys are covering

[00:57:12] shogun

[00:57:14] yes three shows a week people

[00:57:16] we are going places because we have a lot to do

[00:57:18] yep we're going to a galaxy far far away

[00:57:20] we're going to japan

[00:57:22] and we're going to

[00:57:24] to invincible world every week

[00:57:26] so lots and lots of stuff

[00:57:28] on the podcast we're hoping

[00:57:30] enjoying our coverage of each of those shows

[00:57:32] thanks so much for joining us again

[00:57:34] goodbye from us

[00:57:36] keep watching keep listening

[00:57:38] and keep being

[00:58:04] you
