Fabulous Fannibals…truly fabulous! The Fine Young Hannibals, John and Irene, are literally shaking with a mixture of excitement as we discuss everything from the Tableau to the Table and everything in between. In what feels like a new season, we chat about the start of the exploration of the Great Red Dragon and the transformation of the one and only Mr. Francis Dolarhyde. We of course drool over…I mean talk about Richard Armitage (we’re fans!) and his portrayal of this icon character. We look at Dr Chilton and Alanna’s new positions in the psychiatric profession, what their big “lie” might be and take look at Will’s new life with Molly and Walter. We delve in to the mythology of those paintings by William Blake who inspires the monster; and of course we discuss those “friends reunited” moments as Jack Crawford calls on Will, Price and Zeller come racing to the finger-print lifting rescue and Will drops in on an old friend – Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane has never been quite so busy!! Hannibal Season 3 Episode 8 The Great Red Dragon - Synopsis
Three years after Hannibal surrendered to the FBI at Will Graham’s home in Wolf Trap, Virginia, he has been imprisoned and institutionalised for three years at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane now under the administration of Alanna Bloom. However, a new devil, whose inspiration are Blake’s paintings of The Great Red Dragon, has emerged and is intent on transforming from his mortal self to the cycle of the moon. Known as “The Tooth Fairy”, due to the prevalence of bites on his female victims, Francis Dolarhyde terrorises “perfect” families, in “perfect” neighbourhoods – attacking the American Dream. But after a second brutal and horrific murder of another middle-class family Jack Crawford, still at the FBI, must reach out to Will to help track down and catch this vicious serial killer. As the investigation begins to unfold Will, using his own special skill set, re-enacts the killing in his mind. As Price, Zeller, and Graham team up they determine that the killer placed pieces of broken mirror in the eyes of the victims so he could look at and in to himself. However, with these troubling revelations Graham finds he must consult with a former colleague.
