00:00 --> 00:03 [DEREK]: This is the Defenders on TV podcast in the streets we're back.
00:03 --> 00:07 [DEREK]: We're gonna talk quickly about adventures and game on-core.
00:29 --> 00:37 [DEREK]: Welcome back fellow defenders to TV podcast industries and we're going to have a quick chat on the our podcast here about Avengers Endgame.
00:37 --> 00:38 [DEREK]: Mostly the post credits.
00:39 --> 00:40 [DEREK]: I am one of your host Derek.
00:40 --> 00:42 [JOHN]: Hello there fellow defenders.
00:43 --> 00:44 [JOHN]: Yes, welcome to the defenders podcast.
00:45 --> 00:46 [JOHN]: I am one of your other hosts.
00:47 --> 01:03 [DEREK]: John, but a couple of weeks, this is where anything on our defenders podcast feedair, last thing was a Spider-Man brand new day, and it seems ages ago, yeah, and what we did go to the cinema this weekend is the Avengers endgame encore, the re-release of the Avengers.
01:03 --> 01:04 [DEREK]: What are the promise thus?
01:05 --> 01:08 [DEREK]: Firstly, we get to see the climax, which we never saw before.
01:08 --> 01:12 [DEREK]: The last time we saw it was in Switzerland, on the big screen, where it had an
01:16 --> 01:33 [JOHN]: Yes, those were the days and a healthy intermission snack in Switzerland, yes, yes, so that was quite nice there in all in all because Yeah, I think back in the day it was like it was good three hours.
01:33 --> 01:36 [JOHN]: I think we were saying well, you would just have intermissions.
01:36 --> 01:44 [JOHN]: You know, I'm back in the day that was to allow them to change the real exactly because don't really need to do that now, but yeah certainly
01:45 --> 01:48 [JOHN]: It was good to see endgame again.
01:48 --> 01:49 [JOHN]: It was good to see an IMAX for sure.
01:50 --> 01:50 [JOHN]: Yeah.
01:51 --> 01:53 [DEREK]: What did you think of the IMAX transfer idea?
01:53 --> 02:02 [DEREK]: We don't have a real IMAX in our, we have a massive screen, but it's not officially real IMAX as we learned with the obviously there's only about 35 of those in the world, I think.
02:02 --> 02:03 [JOHN]: Yeah, no, I mean, it was good.
02:03 --> 02:11 [JOHN]: It was good just to, because I think it's still, it's really quite immersive and the sound is certainly the best.
02:12 --> 02:16 [JOHN]: all the cinema screens that are in the senior world in central Dublin.
02:17 --> 02:27 [JOHN]: So yeah it's really, it's really good and there's a good bunch of sound spectacle and it's also the biggest auditorium.
02:27 --> 02:32 [JOHN]: So if you get it packed out there's a nice sort of good atmosphere and vibe going on.
02:33 --> 02:37 [JOHN]: So yeah, no, I thought it was really good, really worth a sea.
02:37 --> 02:56 [JOHN]: I mean, I have say going into it, I wasn't entirely sure what the extra form in it was happening within the movie and I was like going, okay, is it all just coming at the end, sort of, our Lord of the Rings Return of the King Star or it's like loads of different endings and just some extent it is because it is captured within right at the end of the movie
02:59 --> 03:17 [DEREK]: Yes, so the good news is for anybody who's never seen Avengers and game in the cinema, the entire experience that you would have had when you saw it on your Disney plot, so when you saw it on physical disk, it's exactly the same experience until we get to the end.
03:17 --> 03:23 [DEREK]: You have exactly the same opening all the way through, nothing new, and any of the scenes throughout, they may have tweaked something but nothing that you'd know.
03:24 --> 03:33 [DEREK]: and then there's a change right at the end and then it goes into post credit scenes which are all different and all new leading into doomsday.
03:33 --> 03:38 [DEREK]: So our spoiler free review of Avengers Endgame on core should you go and see us?
03:39 --> 03:42 [DEREK]: Well, if you've never seen an IMAX before, it's a great opportunity to see an IMAX, that's really good.
03:43 --> 03:50 [JOHN]: Yeah, if you've never seen it in the cinema before in any format, it's good and probably worth to see it in the cinema.
03:50 --> 03:59 [JOHN]: Yeah, possibly to go now whilst there's a good crowd there, because depending on your crowd, you might get a few of the walk-ups and so on.
04:10 --> 04:19 [JOHN]: 10 years since it was released, and the the wasn't the reaction like you got um sort of back in the day.
04:19 --> 04:25 [DEREK]: Yeah, I will say of all of the advertising experiences, the the P or team but back behind Avengers going.
04:25 --> 04:35 [DEREK]: This is what opening night was like back seven years ago, going experience it again at the cinema that you'll never experience what it was like an open night in the cinema unless you get an entire audience people who've watched
04:36 --> 04:48 [DEREK]: 21 Marvel movies and didn't watch this one and all go to the cinema together to watch them for the first time Like literally we were saying we were joking because people were getting up and leaving as a gut to the last couple of minutes of the movie and you're looking at the going
04:49 --> 04:51 [DEREK]: you've seen this before, because you know the movies are back to end.
04:52 --> 04:57 [DEREK]: And you're not going to wait around for the new scenes that you just paid 20-hour euro to go and see it in IMAX.
04:58 --> 05:02 [DEREK]: And you're not going to wait around for the extra scenes that you've paid for.
05:02 --> 05:04 [DEREK]: Real surprised that there are still people that will get up and walk away.
05:05 --> 05:09 [DEREK]: I even overheard somebody saying to one of the two is made to a waiting till the end.
05:09 --> 05:13 [DEREK]: He was like, I'm just gonna watch them on the phone and the bus in the way home because they've been released on YouTube.
05:13 --> 05:16 [DEREK]: Like, you're sitting in the center, just watch them.
05:16 --> 05:17 [DEREK]: I don't know reason to leave.
05:18 --> 05:20 [DEREK]: Like, this was, we watched the afternoon as well.
05:20 --> 05:22 [DEREK]: It was not like he had to get home to bed or anything.
05:22 --> 05:23 [JOHN]: Yeah, exactly.
05:23 --> 05:24 [DEREK]: It was about half-five of the evening.
05:24 --> 05:26 [DEREK]: You're going on a Sunday.
05:26 --> 05:27 [DEREK]: It's not like the rush.
05:27 --> 05:28 [JOHN]: The other little, uh...
05:29 --> 05:34 [JOHN]: Conversation over her, it was, oh, I thought this was the one with doom in it.
05:34 --> 05:36 [DEREK]: So this was the new one, yes.
05:37 --> 05:39 [DEREK]: It's a really horrible moment for them.
05:40 --> 05:44 [DEREK]: They saw the trailer for Dunes day and then went into what's the movie they'd seen before.
05:44 --> 05:47 [DEREK]: But that's, that's a spoiler filled part.
05:47 --> 05:51 [DEREK]: So highly recommended if you've never seen the cinema before, because there's great anyway.
05:51 --> 05:56 [DEREK]: But you probably won't get the experience that they advertise of people whooping and cheering, because everybody kind of knows what happened in the movie.
05:58 --> 05:59 [JOHN]: definitely.
05:59 --> 06:06 [JOHN]: But it was good to reconnect with the re-release of this and have for sure.
06:07 --> 06:12 [DEREK]: So from here on edge, it'll be spoilers for all the things that happen and brand new to Avengers Endgame.
06:12 --> 06:17 [DEREK]: So go see it at the cinema, basically if you want to see these, but you'll probably see these in YouTube.
06:17 --> 06:18 [JOHN]: So, absolutely.
06:18 --> 06:34 [JOHN]: But the first one of them is where you have the original ending of Cap and Asian car, so a cap has gone back to get a bit of Nuki Nuki with the love of this life Asian car, so as we go and she'll come to America.
06:35 --> 06:56 [JOHN]: you have the music playing and you have them kissing and then the change up as it's sort of the break is then you get an interruption with a knock on the door and you have agent car so going it getting a little bit fursive because it's like what who's that so it's almost
07:03 --> 07:22 [JOHN]: they have to be careful about that and Asian caught her if it's the door and you have Loki coming saying I might be able to help and he says both of you can come on out effectively to Steve Rogers who's hiding behind the door as Asian caught her.
07:23 --> 07:25 [JOHN]: answers the knock at it.
07:25 --> 07:36 [JOHN]: So that's the first one and it is nicely transition from rice at the end of the movie just into that little bit of extra footage before the end credits, which was good to see.
07:37 --> 07:38 [DEREK]: Yeah, it's quite a big, um,
07:39 --> 07:43 [DEREK]: change from what we saw because in the original movie the understanding is the caps gone back.
07:44 --> 07:44 [DEREK]: He's got his lady.
07:44 --> 07:45 [DEREK]: They're going to get married.
07:45 --> 07:46 [DEREK]: They're going to spend their time together.
07:47 --> 07:48 [DEREK]: We have the just before that.
07:48 --> 07:57 [DEREK]: We had old age Steve Rogers talking to Sam Wilson who he handed over the shield to and Sam says to him, are you going to tell me about that?
07:57 --> 07:58 [DEREK]: Speaking of the wedding ring and
07:59 --> 08:01 [DEREK]: Steve kind of looks in the air and goes, no, I don't think I will.
08:02 --> 08:13 [DEREK]: And now maybe that story is going to be involving Loki and going to be involving Dume's to end, going to be involving so many different things, it's not just about the love story that he didn't want to tell his friend Sam Wilson about.
08:13 --> 08:19 [DEREK]: It could be about quite significant things that happened in the time that Captain America had gone back to Agent Carver, right?
08:20 --> 08:21 [JOHN]: Yeah, absolutely.
08:21 --> 08:31 [JOHN]: I mean, I mean, I think the main thing here is that Loki is interrupting the sort of the Steve Rogers that we know the age of at the end of end game.
08:32 --> 08:38 [JOHN]: And of course, there is another Steve Rogers there were much older, much more wise and with this wedding ring.
08:39 --> 08:44 [JOHN]: So potentially, unless they've already been married in that time,
08:46 --> 08:55 [JOHN]: Loki could be interrupting the marriage, certainly the duration at which Steven has spent and with Agent Carter at that time.
08:55 --> 08:58 [JOHN]: So that's an interesting point I think there.
08:58 --> 09:02 [JOHN]: Don't know exactly, but certainly is interrupting the time
09:03 --> 09:11 [JOHN]: because we've literally just seen decrepid Steve Rogers with the ring, this is the Steve Rogers we know from Endgame.
09:11 --> 09:12 [JOHN]: Exactly.
09:12 --> 09:18 [DEREK]: Captain America, well he's met up with Agent Carter and his round at her house and their and dancing.
09:18 --> 09:22 [DEREK]: So you're thinking it takes away the happy ending of Agent Carter and Steve Rodney's.
09:22 --> 09:24 [JOHN]: No, I don't know.
09:24 --> 09:28 [JOHN]: It will be interesting to know where Loki interrupts them.
09:28 --> 09:29 [JOHN]: That's what makes
09:32 --> 09:49 [DEREK]: The knowledge that's in end game, we talk to this so much in the past, especially over the courses of Loki season 1 and season 2, what's in end game from Bruce Banner is the timeline as the timeline, whatever your past is, is your past, whatever your future is starts at a new point when you're changing it.
09:49 --> 09:58 [DEREK]: So the new future that was being created when Kapp went back to meet up with Edgeard Carter could be creating a brand new timeline on Loki's coming in at exactly that point.
09:58 --> 10:02 [DEREK]: So that he stops the end of that future timeline.
10:02 --> 10:03 [DEREK]: That's what it could be.
10:03 --> 10:04 [DEREK]: But again, we don't know.
10:04 --> 10:06 [DEREK]: These are all well post credits.
10:06 --> 10:08 [JOHN]: To be honest, it is a little strange.
10:08 --> 10:20 [JOHN]: And sometimes completely get lost in his, but Captain Rogers is going back to put all the stones back in place to the timeline that
10:21 --> 10:24 [JOHN]: The ancient one is talking about remains the same.
10:25 --> 10:27 [JOHN]: However, he does decide to stay behind.
10:27 --> 10:46 [JOHN]: So whether that creates a new split, more than likely it does, hence why Loki turns up and potentially this notion of at least from the doomsday trailer of people having gotten a life that maybe they shouldn't have.
10:49 --> 11:00 [JOHN]: Steve Rogers is certainly in that category, because he is having a life with Agent Carter that he never was able to in the timeline that we saw.
11:00 --> 11:03 [JOHN]: As a cuter, it's up, she would never have that exact experience.
11:03 --> 11:13 [JOHN]: So, and that's the interesting thing is that he actually decides to undermine everything that Bruce Banner wants him to do for his own reasons, and actually,
11:15 --> 11:34 [JOHN]: I can get that after watching endgame again and so the other post-credits is with Bruce then in a bunker keeping himself away from the world.
11:34 --> 11:37 [DEREK]: Yeah, again spoilers for Spider-Man Brand New Day.
11:38 --> 11:43 [DEREK]: This is a sequel directly from Spider-Man Brand New Day where he's put himself two miles
11:44 --> 11:45 [DEREK]: saying nobody can ever reach him here.
11:45 --> 11:46 [DEREK]: The whole can't get out.
11:46 --> 11:47 [DEREK]: Nobody can get into them.
11:48 --> 12:04 [DEREK]: He's saying it's been 10 years since any kind of incident happened with the Hulk and then in brand new day, the Hulk is unleashed back to what he was like back in, I was as age of ultra and I think was the last time he would have been an unleashed uncontrolled Hulk.
12:05 --> 12:22 [JOHN]: Yeah, and that's from Wanda to be honest, she kind of precipitates that, so again before that it would be with sort of the really early Marvel Hulk movie.
12:23 --> 12:29 [DEREK]: Exactly, yeah, exactly because by Avengers time he was able to control himself, he was saying the way I keep control is by
12:34 --> 12:41 [DEREK]: connection on him and in brand new day this that's broken again and he is the only talk.
12:41 --> 12:51 [DEREK]: So here he has sick himself in a bunker doing experiments talking to camera saying saying he's down here he can break out and nobody can get into him and then we hear some noises we have.
12:51 --> 13:10 [JOHN]: Yeah, the the screen starts a flicker and then it all goes kind of blank for a while The camera is clearly Interrupted and sort of knocked out at at least in terms of broadcasting So you don't really say anything but what you do here is you hear dooms voice saying I'm here to collect you.
13:11 --> 13:17 [JOHN]: Yes, you do and the seems to be a bit of a scruffle You hear the roar of halt and then
13:18 --> 13:42 [JOHN]: And as the image comes back, the Hulk has gone from this sort of bunker, but there are the sort of the green doom like lines that are formed on the ground of the bunker, like you see in the trailer around his throne, right, where you have a kind of this kind of green energy of whatever it might be.
13:47 --> 13:54 [JOHN]: taken Bruce from the banner bunker and put to collect him.
13:54 --> 13:59 [JOHN]: So that's kind of an interesting idea around what that means.
13:59 --> 14:03 [JOHN]: You know, that this part of me wondering like doom has
14:04 --> 14:16 [JOHN]: You know, certainly in the past for me and as why I do like the character a lot, and always because, you know, kind of felt like you could get rid of fantastic four quite easily.
14:17 --> 14:24 [JOHN]: But Steven Strange has featured quite a lot in his stories of which actually secret wars.
14:25 --> 14:29 [JOHN]: The latest version of that Steven Strange was involved in that.
14:30 --> 14:31 [JOHN]: It's almost like his right hand man.
14:34 --> 14:35 [JOHN]: if you will.
14:36 --> 14:42 [JOHN]: I just wonder whether in this world will that happen or will it be maybe Bruce Banner?
14:42 --> 15:03 [JOHN]: Maybe that's the collection that he's trying to bring together some form of team, but one that he feels he can rationalize, because even from the trailers of Doomstay, it feels like he's trying to maybe if you collect no more, for example, or even like Panther.
15:05 --> 15:15 [JOHN]: possibly, and that's why you've got the the arguments breaking out and this potential for tension between the characters that are coming through on June's day.
15:15 --> 15:21 [JOHN]: Rayla, I don't know, but maybe that's part of the collection that he's trying to get them on his size.
15:21 --> 15:31 [DEREK]: Yeah, and what's kind of interesting about the particular ones that you've called out there, all of them, I think are members of the Illuminati in the comic books, including Doom,
15:34 --> 15:53 [DEREK]: Maybe Bruce Banner was involved because he's a very, very smart intelligent person, so he might have been involved in one of the line-ups of the Illuminati, but I kind of like the idea that maybe Doom is setting up a group of very intelligent members of the MCU to work together and come up with a solution to what's going on.
15:53 --> 15:54 [DEREK]: Again, we don't know what that is.
15:54 --> 15:55 [JOHN]: Yeah, no idea.
15:56 --> 15:57 [DEREK]: We might know it in the next.
15:58 --> 15:58 [DEREK]: Yeah.
15:59 --> 16:06 [JOHN]: It is why he is collecting Bruce Bannett is the Hulk.
16:06 --> 16:18 [JOHN]: Is this the only person that he is kidnapping, collecting, or are there others, which maybe we've seen hints at in the Doomsday trailer?
16:18 --> 16:21 [JOHN]: So, yeah, interesting notion this.
16:22 --> 16:31 [JOHN]: I do wonder again, if this is somehow tied up in the notion that this is the fantastic false version of Tony Stark in some way, then possibly
16:36 --> 16:42 [JOHN]: who knows, maybe Banner is his natural ally rather than Steven Strange.
16:43 --> 16:49 [JOHN]: I mean, it was always that Doom could be convincing and he could put together a rational argument.
16:49 --> 16:53 [JOHN]: I mean, it was always that it wasn't necessarily that he was wrong about people.
16:53 --> 16:54 [JOHN]: either.
16:54 --> 17:01 [JOHN]: But in the main, it was so total and indiscriminate in terms of how it may affect other people.
17:01 --> 17:10 [JOHN]: And that's where a lot of people certainly from secret wars and with the incursions, that's part of the issue that they have of them is that it's, it's
17:11 --> 17:22 [JOHN]: So destructive, but this is the only way that he sees, and it's almost his method of how he follows through on his ideas rather than necessarily the ideas themselves.
17:22 --> 17:29 [DEREK]: Well, yes, they're, again, it's always just a viable thing about the villains, especially how they're written in the MCU.
17:29 --> 17:31 [DEREK]: That's why Doom fits in quite well.
17:32 --> 17:36 [DEREK]: He has great ideas, but his ideas always end off with, and I sit at the top in my throat.
17:37 --> 17:37 [DEREK]: Yeah, I don't care exactly.
17:37 --> 17:38 [DEREK]: Yeah, exactly.
17:38 --> 17:39 [DEREK]: I control it.
17:39 --> 17:40 [DEREK]: Yeah.
17:40 --> 17:46 [DEREK]: There's a great recent story with Doom in the comics where everybody has actually agreed to Doom's plan.
17:47 --> 17:54 [DEREK]: But the plan has ended off with him in a leadership role that everybody's looked, everybody's, all the heroes are looking at each other going, but we can't accept this.
17:54 --> 17:59 [DEREK]: And it turns out every leader has rolled in behind DOOM's persuasive persuasion.
17:59 --> 18:03 [DEREK]: Like it's not, he hasn't used magic, he hasn't used anything.
18:03 --> 18:05 [DEREK]: He's just persuaded them all and he's sitting at the top.
18:05 --> 18:08 [DEREK]: So they have to work out how to undo that.
18:08 --> 18:11 [DEREK]: But yes, that's kind of how do work.
18:11 --> 18:19 [DEREK]: So it'd be very interesting to see that plays out and boss We're going to move on to the next post credit scene because this one's really interesting There's a little mini episode of Loki.
18:19 --> 18:29 [DEREK]: They have set a couple of times that you need to watch Loki season two If you want to get a bit of a lead on doomsday, and they're right because in this post credit scene You'd have no idea how most of the cast are it starts out with miss minute two.
18:29 --> 18:30 [DEREK]: We all know from
18:30 --> 18:53 [DEREK]: from Loki season that one and two, being quite a villainous little creature, but a great little moment when we just have a pop-up on screen, giving instructions to the TVA as we're walking through, we see on Wilson's Mobius walking through the corridors of the TVA, the time variance authority, I love that he walks past a poster of Loki, where it says employee of all time, instead of
18:54 --> 19:07 [DEREK]: At the moment, Loki is in Idrisil, the tree is now guiding all the timelines, is where he is and the rest of the TVA are still monitoring all the other universes and to make sure they're not falling apart.
19:07 --> 19:13 [DEREK]: So we have Kyuhu Kwan in there, once again, as Obi.
19:13 --> 19:15 [DEREK]: He's watching on, they're all watching on.
19:15 --> 19:16 [DEREK]: And then we see...
19:16 --> 19:18 [DEREK]: a massive incursion happening.
19:18 --> 19:20 [DEREK]: There we saw incursions in Dr.
19:20 --> 19:21 [DEREK]: Strange, multiverse about us.
19:21 --> 19:24 [JOHN]: Yes, that was the post credit, him and Clay.
19:25 --> 19:29 [JOHN]: She asks him if he's going to come and help, and he is the die pops out.
19:29 --> 19:30 [DEREK]: So to speak.
19:30 --> 19:38 [DEREK]: But incursions are basically where two universes are colliding with each other as they explain in this post-gradency, one wiping out the other.
19:39 --> 19:41 [DEREK]: So it starts out there.
19:41 --> 19:44 [DEREK]: They don't seem too concerned because this kind of thing happens.
19:46 --> 19:51 [DEREK]: one world has gone too far and the other one's taking over from it.
19:51 --> 19:59 [JOHN]: But I think that the they're not too worried about it, but nonetheless, the relatively spooked that there was no for warning.
19:59 --> 20:00 [JOHN]: Yes.
20:00 --> 20:00 [JOHN]: Yes.
20:00 --> 20:06 [JOHN]: So like it is a big event, and however you want to sort of slice it.
20:06 --> 20:07 [JOHN]: And so it's a big event.
20:08 --> 20:09 [JOHN]: there was no warning on.
20:09 --> 20:11 [JOHN]: But then things just start escalating all over the place.
20:11 --> 20:14 [JOHN]: So it's that there's more than one incursion starts to happen.
20:14 --> 20:18 [JOHN]: Then it looks like there's Missile's being fired and ass
20:20 --> 20:30 [JOHN]: two different multiverses of planets from the multiversor of firing missiles at one or another to destroy them.
20:30 --> 20:36 [JOHN]: So it all starts to escalate and escalate until then you start saying, Hang on, there's a hundred of them.
20:36 --> 20:38 [JOHN]: No, there's thousands of them.
20:38 --> 20:49 [JOHN]: And ultimately the figure that we're left with, there are 3 incursions happening all at once simultaneously
20:49 --> 20:58 [JOHN]: and this is then freaking the more loud, and of course we have the whole phrase from Tony Stark and his daughter.
20:59 --> 21:03 [JOHN]: I love you 3000, so whether it's got any connection or relevance to that, don't know.
21:04 --> 21:07 [JOHN]: But certainly there's that potential connection.
21:07 --> 21:09 [JOHN]: But ultimately what is happening?
21:09 --> 21:15 [JOHN]: It's gone from zero to 3000 incursions, very rapidly all at once.
21:15 --> 21:17 [JOHN]: So this isn't even that it's a slow
21:18 --> 21:39 [JOHN]: situation at least not what the TVA is witnessing at that moment in time and it may be happening before that and it may happen after that but at the moment and this is like simultaneously 3 incursions are happening and and then this becomes an issue so yes
21:40 --> 21:43 [DEREK]: And Kiwikwan's character is saying, this is the end of the multiverse.
21:43 --> 21:46 [DEREK]: It's effectively all of the incursions that are happening.
21:46 --> 21:49 [DEREK]: He's stressing that this is the multiverse ending.
21:49 --> 21:52 [DEREK]: So yeah, it's got to happen.
21:52 --> 21:54 [DEREK]: We're going to have everything coming together.
21:54 --> 21:55 [DEREK]: It's all happening at the same time for them.
21:55 --> 21:59 [DEREK]: But yeah, it started out with, there's no warning that it was...
21:59 --> 22:05 [DEREK]: Oh, there's already a second one, then it's 10, then it's 20, then it's up to 3000 by the end of the scene.
22:05 --> 22:09 [DEREK]: So, absolutely massive things going on here.
22:09 --> 22:16 [DEREK]: I love that it was done as if it was an episode of the TV show with all the cast, they're all the background cast for there as well.
22:16 --> 22:23 [DEREK]: So, hopefully we'll see more of them and do today, but what a great way to set up all of the incursions happening throughout.
22:24 --> 22:28 [DEREK]: that touch of one universe firing missiles to the other universe.
22:29 --> 22:31 [DEREK]: Just think in comic books I just think it's interesting.
22:32 --> 22:33 [DEREK]: It was always that Mr.
22:33 --> 22:40 [DEREK]: Fantastic was trying to find a way to save all of the universes to try and separate them apart from each other and not cause the incursions.
22:40 --> 22:52 [DEREK]: I think it was Dr. Doom that was trying to find a way to save his specific universe by sending missiles out to blow up any universe that was coming towards there, but non-successful in the comic book, so.
22:52 --> 22:55 [DEREK]: So yeah, really interesting to have just a little touch of that in there.
22:55 --> 22:59 [DEREK]: And one final post credits scene, then, to talk about?
22:59 --> 23:01 [DEREK]: Yeah, what a great little touch here.
23:01 --> 23:04 [DEREK]: So this is from the original endgame, there was the hammer of
23:05 --> 23:10 [DEREK]: of Iron Man of Tony Stark when he was in the cave in the first ever Iron Man.
23:10 --> 23:12 [DEREK]: They left that in as the touch saying goodbye to Tony Stark.
23:13 --> 23:14 [DEREK]: This time they've extended it.
23:14 --> 23:24 [DEREK]: You hear the hammer exactly the same as you did in the original movie but it extends and then you get a flash of an anvil and the hammer and then you get a flash just up on screen.
23:26 --> 23:29 [DEREK]: of likes and then you see the mask of doom.
23:29 --> 23:43 [DEREK]: So is this an indication that instead of creating our in man in that cave he created doom for himself is it's just flashing the fact that it is Tony Stark that is creating his doom armor and
23:43 --> 23:44 [DEREK]: we won't know.
23:44 --> 23:49 [DEREK]: I don't think until until we see Doomsday and see the creation of this character and what the whole happened.
23:49 --> 23:52 [DEREK]: Why is our Tony Stark victim on Doomsday?
23:52 --> 23:54 [JOHN]: Well, I don't think he is our Tony Stark.
23:55 --> 23:55 [JOHN]: He's not.
23:55 --> 23:56 [JOHN]: I think that's the point.
23:56 --> 23:58 [DEREK]: I think the Fantastic Order of Universe is the Star Stark.
23:58 --> 23:59 [DEREK]: Exactly.
23:59 --> 24:08 [JOHN]: I mean, if you assume the post credits from the Fantastic Four and the Doomsday trailer where you have
24:12 --> 24:17 [JOHN]: saying how we thought he was damaged, we didn't realize he was broken.
24:17 --> 24:22 [JOHN]: So it's certainly someone that is absolutely coming from their universe.
24:22 --> 24:27 [JOHN]: I mean you even see Pedro Pascal as Mr.
24:27 --> 24:33 [JOHN]: Fantastic saying, did you do this doom in the trailer?
24:33 --> 24:37 [JOHN]: So I don't think it's as such
24:38 --> 24:43 [JOHN]: It's not our Tony Stark, but it could be their Tony Stark equivalent, hence white.
24:45 --> 24:47 [JOHN]: Some of the parallels around.
24:48 --> 24:58 [JOHN]: 3000 incursions and the reason for that the the reason for the the same twist on the hammer and the envelope at the end.
24:58 --> 25:07 [JOHN]: So all these different things could be linking in that you know maybe it is their version of Tony Stark.
25:07 --> 25:08 [JOHN]: It's just in this
25:09 --> 25:10 [JOHN]: Multiverse.
25:11 --> 25:12 [JOHN]: He lost everything.
25:12 --> 25:16 [JOHN]: He didn't just lose himself like in end game.
25:16 --> 25:17 [JOHN]: And I think that's the interesting thing.
25:18 --> 25:23 [JOHN]: The real vein of potential business that doesn't come to fruition in end game.
25:24 --> 25:26 [JOHN]: It pops its head up and it shows itself.
25:27 --> 25:29 [JOHN]: And where you have Tony Stark saying,
25:30 --> 25:32 [JOHN]: this confrontation is corrosive.
25:32 --> 25:45 [JOHN]: Maybe in their world with everything that happens in a similar timeline, that confrontation that vengeance is required by the equivalent.
25:45 --> 25:51 [JOHN]: But that's assuming it is going to be Tony Stark and it isn't just
25:53 --> 26:08 [JOHN]: victim on doom played by Robert Downey Jr. And so it'll be interesting how they play that because there's certainly connecting it in to a lot of the touch points that you see in M game here as though to make that connection.
26:08 --> 26:09 [JOHN]: But that's like that does it.
26:09 --> 26:15 [JOHN]: Red Herring who knows, but I don't think it is given the level of them here.
26:15 --> 26:16 [JOHN]: I think it might be saying
26:17 --> 26:32 [JOHN]: in another universe, this may have been the outcome for Tony Stark, because you actually do get hints of this in how he treats safe, for example, Captain America.
26:32 --> 26:38 [JOHN]: You know, I think, well, he's saying, I've got my second chance here, but he's coaxed out of it.
26:38 --> 26:40 [JOHN]: And in the end, yes,
26:44 --> 26:52 [JOHN]: his wife or child, but he dies himself and leaves them with an orphaned in that sense from, you know.
26:52 --> 26:56 [JOHN]: So, it'd be interesting, I think, just to see how they're going to play this.
26:56 --> 27:02 [DEREK]: Absolutely, you know, it's very evident when you're watching endgame with the knowledge of Doomsday coming, which we didn't know.
27:02 --> 27:05 [DEREK]: Seven years ago we thought that was the end of Tony Stark.
27:05 --> 27:09 [DEREK]: We thought that was the end of Steve Rogers Well actually Chris thought Tony Stark would come back.
27:10 --> 27:13 [DEREK]: The kick's back to the back of the earlier than we're getting him back.
27:13 --> 27:22 [DEREK]: But it's interesting when you're watching it with that knowledge and you hear that moment from Tony Stark or he's saying I have grand rules to be involved in this time-hiced.
27:22 --> 27:25 [DEREK]: The grand rules are everybody has to come back.
27:26 --> 27:26 [DEREK]: I have to
27:27 --> 27:28 [DEREK]: keep what I've gained.
27:29 --> 27:32 [DEREK]: I must keep that and maybe I'll get over this alive.
27:32 --> 27:33 [DEREK]: Those are his three grand rules.
27:33 --> 27:37 [DEREK]: He doesn't get out of it alive in the version of avenging.
27:37 --> 27:38 [DEREK]: We just watch to the cinema.
27:38 --> 27:39 [DEREK]: We all know that.
27:40 --> 27:48 [DEREK]: But maybe in the other universe what happens is he loses everything he gained and that causes him to become this version of Victor Vandoon potentially.
27:48 --> 27:48 [DEREK]: That's it.
27:48 --> 28:00 [DEREK]: Another thing I was really interested in is in the comics, the reason why Victor Von Doom wears the mask to cover his face is because he's been so badly damaged from the accident that gave the fantastic order of their powers and his powers.
28:02 --> 28:26 [DEREK]: and looking at Tony Stark when he dies, he is so badly burned from using the, with the, with the infinity stones and that you're kind of going, if he kept that body, he would probably want to cover it up with the, with Victor Du, Victor Omdum's doom-ape fit of actually, so it's just interesting that he is someone that's been damaged really badly and that's seen in infinity wars.
28:26 --> 28:29 [DEREK]: Even if he somehow survived or came back,
28:31 --> 28:39 [DEREK]: that he could look like that on the teeth, the do mask, I think that would be interesting because we haven't see that of course we will see that future we only see in his eyes so.
28:40 --> 28:53 [DEREK]: And lastly and really importantly for this future version and looking ahead to Isitabhi Stark is an auspice victim onto his nose, really importantly in the MCU they have always said death will matter regardless.
28:57 --> 29:02 [DEREK]: the group that we've had after that baby group in teenage groups is a completely different character from original group.
29:02 --> 29:03 [DEREK]: Same with Gamora.
29:03 --> 29:04 [DEREK]: She's dead.
29:04 --> 29:07 [DEREK]: The new Gamora we have is a different Gamora.
29:07 --> 29:08 [DEREK]: Same with Nebula.
29:09 --> 29:10 [DEREK]: These are all guarded.
29:10 --> 29:12 [DEREK]: The galaxy characters we've all died.
29:12 --> 29:17 [DEREK]: And the other person that's coming to replace them is a different character even though it's played by the same actor.
29:17 --> 29:24 [DEREK]: So here this new version with Robert Dane Jr will be very different because they don't want to give up.
29:25 --> 29:30 [DEREK]: what the storyline intended to have the sacrifice of Tony Stark.
29:30 --> 29:36 [DEREK]: They won't give that up by whatever story they tell in Avengers Dreams Day on Ambrates at least I hope not.
29:37 --> 29:38 [JOHN]: No, I didn't have a question.
29:38 --> 29:41 [DEREK]: Yes, suddenly saying, on doing the death of Tony Stark.
29:41 --> 29:49 [DEREK]: So regardless of everything that's happening, comic books of characters, on doing deaths and coming back, that's never actually happened in the MCU.
29:49 --> 29:53 [DEREK]: We've just had different altered versions of characters taking on from that point.
29:53 --> 29:55 [DEREK]: We've never seen a character come back from the dead as such.
29:55 --> 29:59 [DEREK]: So yeah, that was just a point I wanted to make before we go out.
29:59 --> 30:04 [DEREK]: I think that's it for our Avengers endgame on core post credits description.
30:04 --> 30:05 [JOHN]: Yeah, absolutely.
30:06 --> 30:11 [JOHN]: Never thought I'd be speaking for 30 minutes on four post credits.
30:11 --> 30:11 [DEREK]: You didn't.
30:12 --> 30:13 [DEREK]: I definitely didn't.
30:14 --> 30:26 [JOHN]: I mean, yeah, there's a lot to unpack, but they're also, it's a question of now, just show shows, they've given us that juicy little for some, so like, just need to see Doomstain.
30:26 --> 30:28 [DEREK]: I will say I am very excited for it now.
30:28 --> 30:29 [DEREK]: Me too.
30:29 --> 30:32 [DEREK]: I don't think I was as excited before I went to see Endgame.
30:33 --> 30:39 [JOHN]: I still think there's an even more exciting trailer to come out to be honest, probably.
30:39 --> 30:48 [JOHN]: But I appreciate they did probably do want to spoil too much, certainly with these four extra minutes through these little postgraduate scenes.
30:48 --> 30:53 [JOHN]: So yeah, absolutely looking forward to Doomstay and can't wait.
30:53 --> 30:59 [JOHN]: It feels like it has gravitas a bit like end game does now, just by sheer
31:01 --> 31:03 [JOHN]: And I think that's just kind of interesting.
31:03 --> 31:05 [DEREK]: Well, thanks so much for joining us for this.
