A squad of villainous misfits is assembled by the leader of a secret government organisation, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) to help defend the world against potential future meta-human threats. The team consists of Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) a 5,000 year old witch possessing the body of archaeologist June Moon. Crazy cool Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) the girlfriend of the clown prince of crime the Joker (Jared Leto). Assassin for hire Deadshot (Will Smith) who is trying to save his daughter. Beer swilling Australian Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) a no nonsense tough guy. The deformed Waylon Jones (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) who has become the monster Killer Croc that everyone thought he was. Fiery tempered Diablo (Jay Hernandez) whose past is tempering his usefulness to the team. Rounding out the group is Slipknot (Adam Beach).

The squad is controlled by Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman) a special forces operative who Waller has maneuvered into her control and his right hand samurai Katana (Karen Fukuhara) who fights with a sword that captures the souls of it's victims. When one of the team turns on them they must work together to save themselves.
