Hugo Strange (BD Wong) continues his questionable tests on Oswald Cobblepot(Robin Lord Taylor) and, after he passes the ice cream test, Strange declares him sane and releases him from Arkham. However, a bemused Oswald is unleashed on Gotham unaware that Professor Strange still has a plan in store for him. Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is also beginning to concoct plans of his own towards a certain Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) after uncollected paychecks has Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) and Jim asking uncomfortable questions about the whereabouts of Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Spack) and her disappearance from the G.C.P.D. Meanwhile, Alfred and Selina help Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) on his investigation to find his parents' killer Patrick "Matches" Malone (Michael Bowen). After Alfred (Sean Pertwee) is forced into fight in an underground fight club landing him back in hospital Bruce must continue the hunt alone. He locates and confronts Malone, who appears to confess his involvement in the murder of Bruce's parents. But despite vengeance being close, Bruce steps back from killing Malone and instead takes a surprisingly different path that will put him on the road to a life of defending Gotham.
